The Stars vs You
This is a small Lumity writing snippet I made! I hope you enjoy, story is under the break, cross platform uploaded on ao3 and Tumblr =3
Words:
463
Summary:
Luz and Amity retreat to the roof tops of the Owl House to spend some much needed time together. Hours later, Luz babbles on like an idiot how beautiful Amity is.
Tags:
Fluff, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Luz Noceda is a Ray of Sunshine, Luz Noceda is a Huge Sap, Everyone Is Gay, Amity Blight is a Mess, I love Lumity sm, Metaphors, Idiots in Love
After a rather busy day between a certain griffon running wild throughout Hexside, a Grudgby game, and a fairy outbreak, Luz and Amity were beat. So, the two decided on something they both loved to do. Watching the sunset together. Climbing onto the rooftop by going through Luz’s bedroom window, the two set a blanket down and got comfortable. Luz sat with Amity between her legs, her arms around her Batata’s torso in a hug while Amity leaned back against Luz.
The two witches stared up at the night sky, the sunset now long gone from how long the two had been on the roof. Amity could always admire how the stars turned to galaxies, how each constellation complimented one another, and how even the Demon Realm shared the beauty of space with the Human Realm. That was one of the very few things the two realms shared. Every now and then, Amity would point out a certain star or constellation and tell Luz about it. She had always been fascinated by the stars, especially now that her brightest one was currently holding her.
After a while of the two sitting in a comfortable silence with the occasional creature calling out into the night from the forest a few yards away, Luz cleared her throat softy causing Amity to look up at her, “Ya know.. Despite all this,” Luz gestured a hand towards the sky for the dramatic flair, “You’re the most beautiful thing here.”
Amity’s face was quick to flash bright red and a love filled smile spread across her face. “Oh, so I’m a ‘thing’ now?” She joked, poking fun at Luz who responded with a quick nod, “Well, yeah! If I were to say person, or even witch, that would mean there is still something more beautiful.” Luz turned her gaze towards the sky, to hide her blush or to avoid eye contact, I’m not sure.
“I don’t care what may be out there, alternate universes, other realms, titan, even copies of us, nothing, and I mean nothing, could ever compare to how beautiful you are. You could show me every star, galaxy, Milky Way, planet, universe, realm, and I know you would always be the one thing nothing could compare to.” Amity’s face was now set ablaze with blush, her heart beating fast, but her eyes welled up with tears she didn’t know had formed yet as Luz managed to continue with her spoken balled, “Amity, I could write story after story, draw picture after picture, I could even cast all the spells I wanted and I could never tell you how truly in love I am with you. No poem could signify it. No drawing could so it. No spell could cast it. I love you, Amity Blight.”

Do the kids have to go to The Human Realm in Witch Switch? Even The Owl Crew has admitted that they only went that route out of necessity because of the shortening, which obviously doesn't apply to you and your AU.
Maybe Caleb could end up in The Demon Realm instead? He knows that Evelyn is a Witch, right? Thanks To Them did reveal that Canon!Caleb and Evelyn left encrypted notes for each other around Gravesfield, maybe you could recycle that idea into being more prominent in Witch Switch?
Like say, Evelyn still left a vile of Titan's Blood in the Old Gravesfield cemetery. She also left behind a coded map to it in the Wittebane Brothers house.
In Witch Switch, she did that as an emergency backup in the event she ever lost possession of The Portal Door in The Human Realm, so she could get home.
Or! Alternatively, she did it in the hope that Caleb would eventually work things out if she were ever left stranded in The Demon Realm because The Portal Door was damaged or something.
Either way, the end result is the same. Caleb finds rebus, Caleb decodes rebus, rebus leads Caleb to Titan's Blood, Titan's Blood allows Caleb to travel to The Demon Realm... just in time to reunite with his baby brother and all of his new friends. Lol.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Caleb in Witch Switch does NOT as of currently know that Evelyn is a witch (which we are planned to explain in part 2. Oops.). He finds out through Phillip's whole situation. So having Evelyn leave stuff for HIM is unlikely. An emergency stash for her is definitely an option, though, and one I can use, since Eda DEFINITELY wasn't leaving stashes of titan's blood for a human lover.
Idk, it IS an AU, so I'm not limited to canon, but it is a SWAP au, which feels like it needs a closer ratio. I think most of the divergence I'm planning (besides the obvious swap) falls more along the lines of Luzura and the Collector being on more even footing and less evil (on Luz's part) and stuff like that. And, sure, maybe the human realm plot WAS due to the shortening, but I still... don't know what the alternative would have looked like. So I wouldn't know what to replace it with, you know? I'm not trying to rewrite the owl house entirely, it's a fun swap au that I'm using to practice drawing.
Also, I think I figured out a reason for Luz building the door, so. Don't worry about it, we got it.

Pictured: Things going horribly wrong. Right on cue!
So, uh, it sure does sound like King is suggesting they kill The Collector. Especially with how he’s looking at that drawing. And I mean, he IS Eda’s son, and this wouldn’t be the first time she’s killed an enemy. That’s right Eda, I remember what you did, I know what you’re capable off.
But for real, I don’t think King is actually suggesting that. Which begs the question, what is it he’s suggesting? If sealing The Collector away* isn’t permanent enough, then what would be?
(*and if the implication is that King’s Dad had to sacrifice his own life to seal The Collector… well, King’s a baby. There’s a very real chance it’d just not work)
I toyed with a few ideas of how to defeat The Collector in-between season two and three, though I don’t think I ever talked about them. Or maybe I did? Regardless, one idea I had was for King to set up the game of Owl House in such a way that The Collector would lose. And then King would be like ”Ah, sorry buddy, the rules say that if you lose at Owl House you have to leave the planet forever and never come back. Bummer.”
The problem with that is two-fold. For one thing, it’d be a very impermanent solution, because unless The Collector is one of those magical beings that see every verbal agreement as a binding contract that they can never go against, there would be nothing to stop them from just coming back. Or not leaving at all. The other problem is that it would mean The Collector could go on to terrorize some other poor planet.
Another possibility is that King’s plan is to use his close connection to The Collector to… genuinely become his friend. Think about it, The Collector has the power to undo everything and return things to normal. You know, he can fix it all with magic, the sticks, the stones, the tragic. Of course, that’d involve teaching The Collector that people are people too and that you can’t just go turning people into puppets every time they do something you don’t like.
The thought even crossed my mind earlier, that by taking The Collector through a version of Luz’ adventures, maybe he was trying to teach The Collector some lesson on becoming a good person or something.
Basically, King is Steven Universe and The Collector is White Diamond, if White Diamond was also Steven, and Spinel. That probably makes no sense, but I swear, the math checks out in my head.
Tumblr media
I mean, c’mon, look at that face! Is that really the face of a space cherub that couldn’t be redeemed through the power of friendship? After all, there is nothing more anime than the power of friendship, and as we’ve already established, The Owl House operates on anime rules. It is literally an isekai. ”The Time I Was Supposed to Go to Summer Camp but Ended up in Another World Where I Learned to be a Witch,” is, I believe, the working title for the upcoming light novel adaptation.
Tumblr media
And tonight on”If The Collector has listened for a few seconds longer…” he’d’ve found out what I was (more or less) just saying.
King recognizes that The Collector is just a child, albeit a very powerful one, but that he can be reasoned with.
King says he can relate to The Collector, and yeah, I can see it. Not just because they’re both essentially gods, but, well…
Back in season one, King was still under the impression that he was the King of Demons and he saw others as inferior to himself. He’d try at every opportunity to assert some form of dominance and control people around him. Like the time he tamed Eda in her Owlbeast form to act as his enforcer… so he could rule over the playground and ruin all the other kids’ fun.
However, characterization marches one, and as he started learning more about his past, he realized he was never the King of Demons, he cut it out, and grew as a person. Imagine season one King finding out he’s the last living Titan vs late season two King finding it out. Season one King would take it as confirmation of his divine right to rule, whereas season two King took it more as sign of his role as a protector of the people of the Isles.
And while they’re not entirely the same, King and The Collector do parallel each other in some ways. King used to see himself above others, just like The Collector currently does. So King has to find some way to impart his own character development and growth into the Lord of the Fireflies. While also dealing with Philip, who is possessing Raine. Honestly, that shouldn’t be too hard.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, back on the ground, Kikimora is nettled. Like super nettled. I think the only thing that would make her mood worse was if she got ambushed by some upstart triclops.
You know what’s really impressive? Aside from the enormous energy blast Kiki used to nearly disintegrate Luz & Camila? The fact that Kiki’s able to maneuver the abomatron as well as she is with only a pair of levers to work with. Even the techno trousers had more controls to work with!
Tumblr media
Aw shoot…  things are about to get really emotional right about now, aren’t they?
Before that though, I feel the need to acknowledge some of the goofy stuff Camila’s apparently done. Road rage and joining pyramid schemes I can forgive, but scheduling your wisdom teeth surgery the day before you wedding!? You did not!

King said that there are possibly no more glyphs to find, but.....what if....there actually were more unique types of glyphs yet to be discovered?
Okay, we all know the four glyphs Luz uses. Fire, Plant, Ice, and her signature Light glyph. And King in an episode said there are possibly not any more glyphs to be discovered, but what if....there actually were more glyphs to be discovered from the titan? Could the titan possibly be hiding other glyphs so that Belos couldn't discover them so that such knowledge wouldn't fall in the wrong hands?  We did see Luz use a couple of other new spells through glyph combos from using the four glyphs she found such as invisibility and a few other spells she was experimenting through a couple of combinations she tried out.
Though what if those other different types of spells had their own unique glyph yet to be discovered? If that were to be the case, then Luz drawing glyphs of those spells would be far more beneficial and less time-consuming, and plus, it simplifies the drawing of the glyph designs than drawing a combination of several other types of glyphs.
If there were other glyphs, it's likely that the Titan is hiding these in order for Belos to not find them. Either Luz would have to look very hard, or that there is no singular glyph for a spell, and that its design is something she'll have to invent. We did see things like healing glyphs from the healing coven, plus power glyphs from the construction coven throughout the series, both having their own unique design, so it's possible that other spells can have their own unique design too.
I've seen a few pieces of fan art of people making their own glyphs for different types of spells. Things like water spells, gravity spells, smoke spells, dark spells, electric/lightning spells, wind spells, earth spells, healing spells, illusion spells, oracle/future/clairvoyance spells, lava spells, abomination/invocation spells, teleportation spells, heck even a curse spells  If there were unique glyphs, I would for sure be down for those ideas people came up with. Also, Maybe something for summing beasts, flight, enhancing speed, enhancing vision, summoning potions, perhaps a bard glyph of some sort, maybe a glyph for summoning weapons or something, or a glyph for a shield.  This part of the theory could be a bit of a stretch, but...what if....there were hidden glyphs in the human realm? Okay, you're probably going to say that it won't work because Luz needs the titan or some sort of magical object in order to stand a fighting chance, but.....what if her palisman plays a role when it hatches and it helps her see some sort of the human equivalent of Glyphs or something. Either that or, she has some sort of run-in with that witch hunter guy from Yesterdays Lie and she discovers pieces of information she doesn't know about.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on this, let me know in the comments below.

I Don't Even Know Where To Start:
Okay, let's go back to the season 1 finale.
When Luz and Lilith are in the human realm, Luz attempts to use glyphs and immediately it doesn't work because she's no longer drawing power (pun unintended but damn, how bout that?) from the Titan.
On paper (ok that one was on purpose) this is very simple and straightforward, but a particular part of that scene has caught my attention, and I'm not the only one, and far from the first to point it out.
Tumblr media
Instead of simply being an ordinary piece of paper with a drawing on it, as we'd expect from a glyph in the human realm where there's no source to draw magic from, it crumbles.
This would just be an interesting visual, maybe even a clever and slightly angsty metaphor about how Luz's dreams of being a real witch crumble at the first contact with reality, if not for what we see not long after that at the end of the same episode.
(it was hard enough to find the first gif, but if someone wants to add this one in reblogs or something you're welcome to.)
Lilith shares the curse with Eda, rendering them both unable to use magic, and to confirm that this is in fact the case, we see Eda attempt to draw a spell circle - only for it to crumble away.
The next time we see a glyph crumbling is again, when Eda uses one in Eda's Requiem. This might not be a fully consistent example because I don't remember if this happens every time she uses a glyph and I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen to Lilith, but at least with the latter we know and have been both shown and told that the curse works differently for Lilith both because it's new for her and because it's split between two people so it's not the same as it once was.
Regardless, this sets some kind of pattern which indicates that a failed connection to a magic source = faulty glyphs and spell circles that crumble away into nothing.
So Where Am I Going With This?
Glad I Asked!
You see, I don't think the connection faltering in that gif is Luz being out of range from the boiling isles. Or at least, it's not just that, because if it was then the glyphs would simply be ordinary pieces of paper once she's in a realm without a magic source.
What I'm saying is that the human realm, and specifically somewhere in Connecticut, has a magic source.
There's a Titan in Connecticut, and from it's blood the original, naturally occurring portal was made, the one the Wittabane brothers first went through.
And long, long before that happened, when said Titan was still alive, I think they played another very important role in the story, key word being played. (again, pun unintended but I'm on a roll today wow).
I believe that there's another Titan in the human realm, and that it had been distracting the collector while King's father was hiding his son from them. Or more accurately, their son.
I think there is another Titan in the human realm, and they are king's other parent.
I know I jumped several points in my explanation, but it is nearly 6 am and I have not been able to sleep normally all week, and the fact that I've been thinking about this theory nonstop ever since king's tide is only like 10th on the list of reasons why my sleep schedule is trash, at most.

Reasons why Luz and  Hunter are siblings
(...Or more specifically why I think this interpretation of their relationship is what Dana wanted, and why it might be addressed in Thanks to Them)
1. Wittebane Paralells
https://random-autie-fangirl.tumblr.com/post/695575730165350400/an-adhd-coded-bisexual-gal-who-is-studying-wild
I made this rather messy analysis comparing Luz and Hunter with the Clawthorne Sisters and Wittebane brothers, it’s not that long but it basically boils down to  This:
Hunter is a “reincarnation” of Caleb (of sorts) gets a younger human sibling who loves him unconditionally this time. Philip killed Caleb for daring to find a place on the isles, but it’s Luz who makes sure Hunter has a permanent place to stay in the demon realm.(by offering Hunter to stay at the owl house, an offer i’m almost sure Hunter will take her up on in Season 3)
and This:
An ADHD coded bisexual gal who is studying wild magic has a chaotic (and funny) rivalry with a more lawful autistic coded person in the emperor’s coven who is two years older than her, and then the lawful one saves the chaotic one from emperor Belos and turns against the emperor after. Am I talking about Luz and Hunter? or Eda and Lilith? Both, of course. Relationship parallels aren’t just for romance, after all.
For Eda and Lilith (To be honest, I’m actually really quite sure you could swap Eda and Lilith and Luz and Hunter’s interactions round and almost all of them would still be in character)
The masks they’re wearing look possibly like the Wittebane masks.
Obviously they're based on king and hooty too but luz with the horned mask, and hunter with the diagonal eye slit mask...yeah (relating to that, there is a theory that the golden guard mask is also based on a childhood mask caleb had which doesn't have that much evidence behind it, but like, might that be why hunter has it in the first place?
Like I doubt Hunter would want to make a new mask that resembles the golden guard one himself but what if he mysteriously found a wooden version of his old mask somewhere (because it used to belong to Caleb), was understandably freaked out and Luz helped him feel better by drawing a beak on it and re-dubbing it a hooty mask, all while sharing silly and chaotic stories about hooty (both because there's no shortage of those, and it would be a way of making up for getting cheated out of hunter and hooty interactions we could have had in a full season 3 according to dana)
And honestly, these two shots match up far too perfectly to be a mistake:  https://toastraccoon.tumblr.com/post/697394126352678912/am-i-the-only-one-that
2. Hunter Clawthorne?
Okay, this is quite a bit more speculative but like...Luz asks Hunter to come stay with her and...Eda? You know, the witch, who is pretty obviously supposed to be Luz’s second mum?
"You can stay at the Owl House if you want. I'm sure Eda would be cool with it once we... tell her what we... heard." Luz in Hollow Mind
Not only that but Eda gave Luz her jacket in an act of familial love, Luz tosses the same jacket out to hunter and metaphorically extends that familial love out to Hunter.  Like, between that line and the jacket symbolism, I heard the "come live with us, come be part of our family" message loud and clear.
And well, wouldn’t it be cute if both luz and hunter are paying homage to other owl house members with their masks because Hunter decided he’s going to join the owl fam later down the line (especially if the two had been disscussing it just before)
Also Hunter just is a Clawthorne, (and it's quite likely to be genetic too) The traits he shares are obvious and he fits into the family like a glove. He has a bird palisman and the iconic “BYYYYYYEEEE” for a start.
(And after all, Eda does have a habit of adopting strays and particularly children who are the only one of their species on the isles, a human? a titan? why not a grimwalker, huh?) (side tangent: but since it’s likely the Collector  will be redeemed and they are just a child, and I could see him forming a genuine friendship with King, maybe Eda will end up raising a star person too)
Hunter's parental connection to Darius is also important and obvious, but since Luz is probably going to end up co-parented by Eda and Camila, why not have the same for Hunter? Luz can be a Noceda-Clawthorne and Hunter can be a Deamonne-Clawthorne.
So Caleb becomes a Clawthorne by marrying into the family and Hunter becomes a Clawthorne by being adopted. And you know what,  maybe Hunter deserves two (or three) little siblings and a big extended family.
But the point is, that while some of these are headcanons, that between the nettles(see below) and the hollow mind line, I don't think it's too unlikely for Luz to casually re-iterate her offer for Hunter to live at the owl house if they make it back to the isles or to punctuate with an "after all, i've always wanted an older brother." (Especially since it makes sense for them to start talking about the owl fam while making/adjusting their masks, and for Hunter to start getting visibly jealous when Luz starts talking wistfully about her little family)
3. Just some miscellaneous things
https://loosescrewslefty.tumblr.com/post/657608846282522624/loosescrewslefty-loosescrewslefty-shout-out-to @loosescrewslefty (If you don’t mind me mentioning you) made this post about floriography in the Owl House.
This is interesting because in hunting palismen, Luz passes Hunter a pot of nettles, (It's almost always a thing that with any plants in the owl house, their floriography/flower language will symbolise something in the actual show) and nettles symbolize healing, calmness, stress relief, and SIBLING RELATIONSHIPS (full post from loosescrewslefty)
The Thanks to Them trailer and promos have promised quite a bit of focus on Luz and Hunter’s realationship, while giving us 2 out of 3 of the main Wittebro paralells on the list. Pair that with the fact that the episode might well give us more of the Wittebanes’ backstory at the same time and well...
A bit of a controversial idea here, but might that be why Dana has always seemed a little more openly annoyed with Lunter than any other opposing ship (or any other M/F ship). Both with removing the Hunter blush in Hunting Palismen and sort of mocking it on april’s fool day? (neither of which I really agree with, by the way) Like it could be because she knew Luz’s and Hunter’s relationship was going somewhere that didn’t really gel with a romantic interpretation, I dunno
For my last thing, I kind of want to say, they just act like it! It’s actually often reactors with siblings that  say Luz and Hunter act like them and their siblings in real life and  content creators who are basing Luz and Hunter’s dynamic off real-life interactions with their own siblings tend to be most accurate and close to how Luz and Hunter interact in canon!
And since one of Luz and Hunter’s very first interactions in Hunting Palismen Luz licking Hunter’s hand in an interaction that’s exactly the same as an interaction between the twins Mabel and Dipper in Gravity Falls. And since Dana also worked on that show, I see no reason why that parallel/reference couldn’t be deliberate too. Also the face pushing fight is something both Eda and Lilith and all the Blight siblings also did,  so yeah
.... That’s all my evidence. What do you think?

Dipper's Journal Entry: Hexside Day One
Today has been very eventful. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this.
When we first went through the portal, we ended up back on top of the Knee. It turns out, all of the Boiling Isles are built on the bones of a Titan. I still don't see how the little bone-headed dog-thing could grow to be that big, but hey, there are actual flying broomsticks staffs here, so what do I know?
Anyways, Luz and Amity, the two we met on our first visit to the Boiling Isles, were there to pick us up again. Mabel jumped to get on Luz's staff, I'm not sure if she likes Luz or if she's trying to get me to like Amity? From what I can tell, they're a couple, so maybe Mabel just wants to be Luz's friend? I really don't know anymore.
Moving on. We got to Hexside and Hilda, Marcy, and Kamala were already at the school waiting for us. After we dismounted, Danny showed up through a portal. He mentioned something about traffic in a ghost zone... I'm going to need to look into that a bit more.
Luz led us inside where we met a new witch, Gus, because Amity had to go to class. We all said our names, where we're from, and a fun fact about ourselves. I just said that Mabel was my twin sister. I have so many better facts about myself that I could've used! Ugh. Well, it turns out that the Marcy kid knows some talking frogs? I'll also be asking about that at some point.
Danny and Kamala are both definitely older than the rest of us by a year or two, but it seems like no one here is very amazed or scared by the magic and stuff. For me and Mabel and I, we dealt with the dream nightmare demon, Danny seems like he has ghost powers, and Marcy and the frog people, but I don't really know about Hilda or Kamala. Mabel, Marcy, and Danny were the only ones that talked, but even they didn't say much.
We were given a tour of the school and shown where most of our classes would be, but Luz and Gus mentioned that we're going to be in "special" classes for our glyph learning, which is an elective class for most witches. They didn't use the word special, but I know that's what they meant.
I am curious as to how the glyphs work. Can you draw them on/with anything? How do they channel magic? Where is their magic from? How many different glyphs will we learn? Of course, I didn't ask any questions. Not yet. I'm still trying to figure out how the social body works at Hexside and within the HEXkids before I get myself in too deep.
Finally, once the tour ended, we were taken to a stage and all of the Hexside students stared at us while Principal Bump told them all our names and welcomed us or something. Everyone says it was only ten minutes, but it felt like at least an hour or two. I froze up and Mabel had to help me get off of the stage. Once I could actually control myself, I bolted through the nearest door and went looking for a bathroom or at least a place to hide.
All I found was that the school is a literal maze, so I opted for a random hiding place instead. There weren't very many good ones, and I was still looking when the class bell rang. I freaked out and jumped into the nearest supply closet and tried to catch my breath.
It wasn't a normal-sized closet, at least by Earth standards. It seemed like it was for something much bigger, some sort of night creature that works as the school janitor would be my guess. Before I could figure out much more, I noticed that someone else was in the closet with me. I could hear breathing and found eyes staring at me from the floor.
Just then, the final bell rang. After the sounds of late students' running footsteps in the hall cleared out, I apologized for taking their hiding place and started towards the door. Instead of saying goodbye, though, she told me I could stay.
Other than this morning, during introductions, that was the first time I had heard them talk. I couldn't say no, so I sat down and she moved more into the dim light. There wasn't much else to do, so we started talking. It turned out that it was Hilda, and they managed to find this spot before I even let the auditorium. We started by talking about how we were both hiding from the stage and the giant crowd of unruly adolescents, but it moved to talking about our homes and families and how we got to Hexside.
Apparently, where Hilda's from, the Boiling Isles are known as "demon territory" and everyone that lives there is cursed. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised, but it can't be as bad as the second dimension where Bill used to live Ford was for a while.
AW, COME ON KID, ADMIT IT, YOU MISSED ME!
/\ \ / 👁️ \ / / >< \ I I
Oh no.
This is not good.
I need to find out what dimension this really is. Ford said we should be safe here, but we're not safe anywhere if he's still around.
RIGHT YOU ARE, PINE TREE. I'LL SEE YOU SOON!
I guess that's enough for today. It might be enough for any day.

Owl House Theory: What got the Collector sealed?
Warning: The following theory may be clunky, have lots of grammatical errors, and contain spoilers for all episodes of the Owl House. Also- I was too lazy to put in pictures. You have been warned.
The Owl House season 2 has done a great number of call backs to Season 1 or made episodes linked together. But something that feels kind of disjointed is the story between the Collector and King’s dad. But- perhaps the story of the OP being, and the mysterious entity has been right in front of us this whole time.
In the episode “Edge of the World”, Bill the titan trapper claims that all the titans kind of thought fully of themselves and referred to the younger ones as, “little monarchs”. From The “Lying Witch And The Warden” to “Echoes Of The Past”, we have seen King carry himself as such partially due to Eda’s influence. And during those episodes, we have seen King’s monarch behavior meet with consequences of his actions, usually in the form of betrayal.
In “I Was a Teenage Abomination”, King was put in charge of taking care of a garbage eating sea slug and training it as an apprentice. He called him King Junior and mostly just kept rewarding it with treats with very little discipline until he finally ran out of treats. When the slug tried to attack him, he started to realize the error of his ways but did try to be sympathetic to it until it still wouldn’t listen, to which King declared, “I have no son!” and threw salt on him. Now let’s compare this a little to the Collector.
The Collector seems to act like a very spoiled kid who just wants to play games all the time while prone to act violent when he’s betrayed or doesn’t get what he wants. He also doesn’t seem to mind hurting those around him to get what he wants. The only way Phillip and King were truly able to get him to do what they wanted was by promising to play games with him. Now back to King.
In “Adventures in the Elements” King creates a sentient “boot camp” out of his stuffed animals, one of which starts to get jealous of how he holds Francios over the rest (and because he mistreated them by having them do his bidding). This led to a rebellion which as mentioned before, becomes a running theme for the result of King’s antics. And instead of understanding or appeasing the bootcamp, he relies on one member of the boot camp he left out to destroy them... Hooty. Hooty however waits for King to appease him before doing what he says. He had personally left Hooty out of the boot camp saying he was “too desperate”. Now- let’s see if we can apply any of this to the Collector.
The Collector refers to King’s dad as a bully who wouldn’t let him play with King as an egg (for obvious reasons). We also know that King’s dad was able to create armies like Jean- Luc. It is also theorized that titans have the capability to create sentient life which can spring out of the corpse of a dead titan. The Collector also holds the title of “Collector” and so far all we’ve seen him truly collect was the Owl Beast.
While I am sure there are many more instance of King’s follies and hints of rebellion that could be applied, let’s skip to “Echoes of the Past” to the very beginning when King is trying to get Luz to play with him. He shouts out that his favorite toy, Francios, was trying to start a rebellion. It should also be noted that there was seemingly an “ambush” to which King says, “men- defend your ruler!”
The Collector claims that he was “betrayed, beguiled” and “deceived” in “Hollow Mind” along with Phillip. We also know that in “Edge of the World”, the Titan Trappers honor him as The Great Huntsman, even having one of the discs which had him trapped in the mirror realm except broken (meaning he was maybe trapped more than once). It seems odd that all the titans were targets of the titan trappers, but we also know that based on the drawings in “Echoes of the Past”, the Titan Trappers did fight against King’s dad who is seemingly the Boiling Isles Titan.
From all this, we might just be able to conclude that the Collector was close to King’s dad. A child from “beyond the stars” King’s dad perhaps took in as his own tended to be very loose with him and played games with him often with very little discipline, but his attention started going to his other creations. But when his other creations began to turn on him, he might have relied on the Collector to do something about them. The Collector probably began to get jealous especially when he gave more attention to his own son (who was still just an egg at the time) and started an army against King’s dad, leading not only to King’s dad’s demise but perhaps the sealing of the Collector as well.
There are many things I forgot to mention or didn’t quite piece together the way I would like to, but if you have anything to add, feel free too. If you come up with your own theory based on this, please @ me or credit me. I hope you enjoyed this theory.

TUMBLR DIDNT SAYVE MY DRAFT I JUST SPENT AN HOUR TYPING I DINT KNOW HOW TO GET IT BACK BUT EHY ITS FINE
The owl house wrapped up recently and to celebrate I made some art and realized hey I should probably start posting here
Tumblr media
Spoilers under the cut!!!
Everybody who hasn't seen it gone?
Good
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALRIGHT WHILE I AM NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO RETYPE MY THOUGHTS I JUST LOST HERS MY LLSHORT OF IT
I love the owl house so much and that finale was just amazing. Sure it wasn't perfect but it was damn good even without considering the MASSIVE type cuts. It was just so good and satisfying and AGHHHH I LOVED IT!!!! This show means so much to me!!!! So of course I had to draw my favorite character and the main character herself. But I decided to draw her epilogue design bc I love it so much. Luz means so much to me and is just so relatable. Before I started watching and had no context I thought I'd relate to amity cause I too was a baby gay with a crush I didn't know what to do with. But then I watched the show and wow. Luz hit me so hard, harder than any character has before. I've never related to any character more and that just became more true as the show went on. Especially later when she clearly is suffering from depression that really hit me since I was going through the same dark space. I related to hard to how her depression completely changed her from the peppy and bubbly kid she was. But to see the epilogue where Luz is now the same age as me and happy and even though her problems did change her so much she's ok? That just really gives me hope.
Now onto the drawing, I just had to draw her epilogue design bc wow thats like my favorite ending credits ever?!?! And her design is just a home run in the epilogue especially her keeping those lil lashes!!! I threw in my headcanons like the genderfluid pin, the multiple pins themselves (Luz is a pin and sticker hoarder argue with the wall) and the toof!!! She should definitely keep the lil fang I love it. Also I gave her slightly more purple hair, the fang and glowing eyes as remnants of her titan form. I like the idea that maybe the 1st night back to normal at her moms house she goes down to get a midnight snack and camila thinks she's one of the boiling isles kids bc of her glowing eyes(which I headcanon witches and demons all have) and luz is like???? It's luz not one of the others??? And my eyes aren't glowing??? And camila just grabs her and puts her in front of a mirror to show yes they very much are. Who knows I may make a comic
I really loved the finale it was just so good and emotional. If you wanna get my thoughts in a more haphazard form my instagram post has that lol. More reaction. And I may post my thoughts I WOULD HAVE HAD HERE in different posts eventually who knows. But yeah I realized I should really start posting here. Procrastination + imposter syndrome is a hell of a combo. But yeah im here now! I also have an insta by the same name(just with underscores) and soon to have a portfolio site(stay tuned muhahaha)
But yeah im definitely going to try and post here more!
BYEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Owl Gushing
Can I just say? I love the Owl House with all my heart.
“And the sky is blue, Scribble, so what?”
So that means I get to gush about a natural beauty as much as I damn well please, and I’m gonna do so now.
Tumblr media
When I first picked up the show, I didn’t expect too much from it. Having never been truly attached to Disney properties before then. Yeah, I liked shows like Phineas and Ferb, and Gravity Falls or the movies were always around in my media feed, but I never paid much hardcore attention to them, so I thought Owl House would just be a nice time killer while I was living with my sister during the worst of Covid. “Oh look, another story of a normal person being brought to a supernatural world. I’m gonna remember and love this beyond the next hour.”
Um, yeah, I will. Forever.
The Owl House, in my eyes, is not only the best thing on Disney’s library (more on that later), but it’s one of the best stories EVER. Even freaking Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of my first true cartoon loves, sweats when I mention Owl House. Avatar is certainly great, but I always willingly skip the Ember Island Players episode because it’s just embarrassing/cringy, and it hardly contributes to the show at large. None of Owl House’s episodes have done that, and I strongly doubt they will.
And just what makes this story so different from the others?
Tumblr media
The first and one of the strongest things that resonates with me is the show’s honesty. It knows exactly what it is, whether it’s the first season’s collection of fun adventures or the second’s more mature tone, the stories it tells fit into the world beautifully. It laughs at itself and the previous titans of fantasy (such as quiddige’s weird logic in Harry Potter) while also forging its own path, and all of it is done with pride.
This immediate awareness allows Owl House to flex its story-driven muscles, and I was entranced by what I saw. When Luz starts out in the Boiling Isles, she’s extremely relatable to nerds like me who never truly fit in, even if our specific quirks are different. She believably gets entranced in the world, just like we do, but her honesty and compassion for others gives the story a lot of heart as we follow her believable evolution into a true heroine, and she never loses that curiosity or believability.
And all of the other main characters are like this too. Even if they serve different roles, there isn’t a single prominent character that I haven’t enjoyed seeing on screen, whether it be Willow’s kindness and growth from shy to badass, Gus’ extreme optimism and curiosity or Amity’s self-discovery and determination, and so many others. Even if they don’t get equal screen time, each major player grows in believable ways, which is rare for child-aimed cartoons (at least from when I was a kid in the early 2000′s).
And the story these characters tell is just as gripping. Because I love them and the world so much, the moments of drama and tension hit harder than a truck, making me cheer in joy or literally take my breath away with tension and shivers of suspense. I’m fully entranced in the world, and the progression makes sure I stay entranced.
Tumblr media
Even outside of this supposed deep drama, the show is still so hilarious and whimsical. It takes tropes of the fantasy genre and not only legitimately brings them into the world, but makes them believable. Take the Power of the Heart trope. Witches do draw from their hearts for magic, but through a literal bile sac that’s part of their physiology. And a lot of the show is like that, putting just enough twists out to keep the viewer subtly surprised and appreciative.
And my appreciation goes far beyond simple twists for the genre. I can truly admire just how much work @danaterrace and her crew have put in to make the show not only fun, but acknowledge its wide audience. Sure there are moments and themes in Season 1 that have strong legacies (like the complicated relationships in the Clawthorne family), but some of Season 2 (with one episode in particular) feels like a damn horror movie with its imagery and implications.
And this fearlessness is also shown in the more intimate subjects that are on-screen. Abusive Families, Tyrannical Government, Self-Identity, LGBT, Racial Minorities, Social Connections and Anxieties, even Gifted Kids and Mental Health, subjects I deeply relate to, all of them and more shine through with the utmost respect for both themselves and the audience, knowing that the older viewers can understand and relate to it, while the younger ones can see something normalized that they once would’ve thought was something to hide, especially LGBT kids. While I may not relate to all of the facets (I’m not personally LGBT), I can still deeply appreciate the fact that the younger generation will have a pillar of support I hardly got as a kid in a place that they’ll see all the time. I freaking CHEERED when Luz and Amity fully kissed in Clouds on the Horizon, never mind the buildup of their relationship throughout the entire show.
Tumblr media
I just...I love The Owl House so much. Great characters and comedy, an imaginative and creative world, captivating stories and heart-clenching themes, all of it is excellent. I’d buy the franchise for a million bucks if it meant I could give Dana and her crew the room they more than deserve to flesh out the world. It’s one of the biggest shames in television that Disney has handled the show so poorly with it cutting Season 3 short, but I won’t let anyone take its heart and creativity away from me, and I know there are others who feel the same.
To quote my all time favorite Youtuber, Fawful’s Minion, “Just goes to show, you never know what you’re missing.”
Even when the show ends and the tears fall, I know I’ll keep loving The Owl House for just how much it’s done for the storytelling world. No matter how many people say “No”, no matter how horribly they insult Dana and her crew, I will always stand by the creators, thanking them for what they’ve given with stories of my own, and a humble bow.
You have something really special here @disneyanimation, it’s just a shame you couldn’t see it.
To end on one last positive note: I love you, The Owl House. You’re one of the best media pieces I ever chose to see, and that’s a choice I’ll never regret making.

Blood Moon (part 2)
Author’s note: I think starting with the next part I’m going to post this story here as links to ao3. That one should be up on Saturday.
Fandom: The Owl House
Summary: After the events of Eclipse Lake, things go differently. Hunter disappears for a few days after his fight with Amity. Luz starts to worry that maybe he and Belos are doing something with what Titan’s blood he managed to steal; so when the Golden Guard reappears about a week later and she runs into him at the Night Market, she goes to confront him about it. But something about him seems… different.
Warnings: Warnings will be vague on this one for spoiler reasons.    If you need warnings for anything specific and don’t mind spoilers, you can of course message me.  However, I will say that if you are especially triggered by things related to unreality, like not being able to trust your memories, this fic might not be the one for you. It does have a happy ending, though. I promise.

“Maybe he just doesn’t like you,” King suggested.
Amity sighed. “King.”
“What?”
Luz pouted, letting her head fall onto Amity’s shoulder.
Luz, Amity, and King were sitting in the living room of the Owl House. Amity and Luz had their homework spread across the coffee table. Luz had been very disappointed to find out that magic school still had homework. It turned out that unlike in almost every YA fantasy book she’d ever read, witches did still need to learn about things like math and grammar and history—even if that history was questionable in Luz’s opinion, given that the Emperor’s Coven apparently had to approve every textbook. In theory, they were working on their assignments, but in practice, not much was actually getting done. Amity was working on small pieces, mainly listening while Luz lamented about how weird the Golden Guard was acting, first with his disappearance and then their strange encounter the night before. King was on the floor, drawing something that made liberal use of his red crayon.
“Everybody likes Luz, hoot hoot!” Hooty put in, winding his way over from the door and curling around Luz, who let out a little cry, her eyes widening. Amity shuddered and moved away, leaving Luz to be squished by the house demon.
“Well that’s not true,” King said, dropping his crayon to cross his arms, watching as Hooty squeezed Luz hard enough for her face to turn red before he finally let go. “We like her, sure, but some people have bad taste. Like the Emperor. And the rest of the Emperor’s Coven, which last I checked this guy was part of.”
“They just don’t know how great she is,” Amity said, putting her arm back around Luz once Hooty retreated.
“Aren’t you the one who was going to have her dissected?”
“Hush.”
Luz coughed, still feeling rather crushed. “Guys—not that I don’t appreciate this, but how cool I am isn’t really the point.”
“Disagree!” said Hooty.
Luz sighed, a small smile briefly flashing on her face, even if the rock that had settled in her stomach made it fall fast. “Fine, fine, I’m cool—”
“Yeah!” said King.
“—but there are more important things to focus on.”
“I’m just not sure I see the big deal,” Amity shrugged. “So he didn’t want to talk to you. Isn’t that pretty much the norm for him?”
“It’s not just that he didn’t want to talk to me,” Luz sighed, letting her head fall on her girlfriend’s shoulder once more. “It’s that… he didn’t seem to remember what happened at Eclipse Lake. It was almost like he didn’t recognize me, either, at first.”
“You are pretty memorable,” King hummed.
“Maybe he was pretending?” Amity suggested. She pursed her lips pensively. “Maybe I hurt his feelings when I broke the key and this is him giving us the silent treatment. I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“Well maybe he hurt my feelings when he got my horns stuck in a root,” King huffed.
“Oh, it was definitely deserved,” Amity agreed. “I wasn’t going to just give him the Titan’s blood. Even if he wasn’t going to turn around and give it to the Emperor, Luz needs it!”
Luz sighed. “Yeah, maybe. He did seem to want to get away from me as fast as possible.” She lifted her head from Amity’s shoulder. “But that still doesn’t explain what he said about his palisman—the cute little red cardinal.”
“What did he say, exactly?”
Luz threaded her fingers with Amity’s, then hunched down into the couch, looking up at the ceiling. “He basically said that he didn’t need a palisman when he has his super-special fake magic staff, and that a palisman with one eye was worthless anyway.”
Amity frowned.
“So he’s a jerk! I don’t get what’s so weird.” King got up. “I’m gonna go find Eda—I need a new crayon.”
His red crayon had been reduced to a stub, which was unsurprising, based on how much of it he’d used in his drawing.
“Well, whatever’s going on, there’ll be time to figure it out,” Amity said.  What about the portal? You and Eda are still working on rebuilding it, right?”
“…Yeah.”
“How’s that going?”
She sat up straighter. “I wish we had the real deal: it’s been hard trying to find replacement parts when we don’t even know what all the originals were… but Lilith had some ideas she sent over, and I think we’re almost done.”
“How almost done?”
Luz’s lip quirked up, her heart fluttering in excitement despite herself. “This afternoon, almost done, if things go well,” she admitted. “But I am trying not to get my hopes up, just in case we have to wait! By the way…” She lunged forward and threw her arms around her girlfriend. “Gracias, hermosa, for the Titan blood—I’m going to get to see my mom because of you.”
Amity flushed. “It was nothing….”
“It was not nothing! Thank you.”
Amity coughed, turning her very red face away in a failed attempt to hide it. “Aaanyway, about the Golden Guard thing. If something’s going on, I’m sure you’ll get to the bottom of it.”
“I suppose,” Luz agreed. She did need to talk to him again… after she visited her mom. She glanced down at the table. “…In the meantime, we should probably do some of this homework so we don’t get sent to the detention track.”
Luz didn’t see the Golden Guard again until a few days later, when she was on an errand for Eda. Luz suspected that the task was purely meant to help keep her mind off of things. Eda didn’t actually know what had happened when she visited the Human Realm, especially the promise she had reluctantly made to her mom, but she had figured out rather quickly that something was bugging Luz. Luz was about 90% sure that Eda didn’t actually need this errand done, at least not urgently.
So, she didn’t feel too bad about instantly abandoning her task when she caught a glimpse of the familiar figure making his way down the near-empty street. She couldn’t see his mask right away, but given his build, the way he held himself, and the fact that he was smaller than the average scout, she was sure.
She followed him, pulling out a vine glyph, then practically jumped on top of him, knocking them both down in the entrance of an alleyway. One demon spotted her doing this, spun on their heel, and started walking leisurely back the way they’d come, whistling off-key.
“Golden Guard!” she cried, still on top of him. “I have some questions for you.”
The Golden Guard threw her off and stood back up, disgruntled, swiping dust off of his uniform. “What are you doing?”
Luz activated the plant glyph and the vines rose behind her to block the alleyway.
The Golden Guard eyed them, then glanced between her and his staff, his grip on it tightening. “You know I can teleport, right?”
“Just answer my questions,” she insisted as she got to her feet. “First: why are you acting so weird?”
“You think I’m acting weird? The girl who just cornered me in an alley for, what, an interview?”
“Yeah! Why are you acting different? Did something happen?”
He stared at her. “Different from the last time you decided to randomly interrogate me?”
“No, different from Eclipse Lake, and before.”
“I don’t even know what that is.”
“Eclipse Lake? On the Knee?”
“Why would there be a lake on the Knee? It’s a topographic high, water would drain from there.”
…Huh. Fair point, Luz considered. Magic, probably. Or maybe that explained why the lake was empty.
Geography aside, the way he answered still made her uneasy. It didn’t seem like he was pretending not to know what Eclipse Lake was. Hunter didn’t strike her as that good of an actor, or like someone who would bother with that ruse.
“Did… someone mess with your memories?” she asked uncertainly.
He scoffed. “My memory is fine, human.” He spat the word like an insult, which made the heat rise in her face.
Okay. Time to go with what just might be the worst case scenario. Her voice hardened.
“Oh, your memory is fine? Good. Great! I’m happy for you. New question: Who the hell are you and what have you done with Hunter?”
The fact that he hadn’t just attacked her straight out when she blocked the alleyway was encouraging, but after their last encounter, she had started to suspect that maybe the Golden Guard hadn’t actually disappeared to work on some secret mission for Emperor Belos. This Golden Guard did sound like Hunter, which was strange—but this was the Boiling Isles. That could be a spell.
At her change in tone, the Golden Guard stook a step back and pointed his staff at her, its end crackling red with energy. His voice, however, came out confused. “Who’s Hunter?”
Luz’s frustration drained away, and she was suddenly filled with dread. She’d suspected that this wasn’t Hunter, sure, but to actually be faced with that reality? Was this somebody else, pretending to be him, who didn’t know the Golden Guard’s name?
“Take off your mask.”
“What?”
“If you’re really the Golden Guard, take off your mask.” She put one hand on her hip and glared, another glyph at the ready in the other. “Go on! Take it off!”

ohno im havign AU thoughts again, this time for owl house.
tentatively calling this one "luz the overthinker". mostly just a canon rewrite with less Idiot Plots (at least from our girl luz) and more of my own headcanons and wishes sprinkled in.
for one thing, gonna really really play into the rejection-sensitive dysphoria so common in neurodivergent folks (and no doubt made magnitudes worse for luz by her ostracization back in the human realm), so shes going to be both Deathly Afraid and (in her mind) Uniquely Capable of failure.
the canon doesnt really diverge too much until after she learns the ice glyph though, when she finally figures out how to learn magic (rather than merely stumbling into it like with the light glyph).
at first shes going on a wild rampage of magical exploration, not unlike what we see her doing in the opening of enchanting grom fright, spending a significant portion of season 1B-ish searching every imaginable natural phenomenon for spell glyphs.
shes gonna be a super dedicated scholar of magic, the same way she was of the azura books' "five dialects of witch-tongue" and "convoluted magic system". im gonna way more clearly take advantage of the fact that she Studies Every Single Track at hexside (so like. magic school as more than just a social setting. and shes gonna actually use potions, probably a lot. and also other magical tools sometimes. and shes gonna learn So Much Theory about all the different kinds of magic. and shes gonna spend so much time sorting out Actual Knowledge from Coven Propaganda. and when she finally gets her grubby little hands on stringbean and she can at last put practice to all that theory shes gonna be a wild witch on par with s1 eda, sorrynotsorry).
with all the focus on magical education, and her discovery of glyph magic as something between learning a language and doing mad science, shes also gonna come up with way more glyph combos, and learn some of the ones from the show much earlier than she did in canon (nice thing about fanfic is that the pace of her magical development isnt limited by what can be introduced while a 20-minute episode plot happens, and thus wont by stymied by The Rat's extratextual interference).
she also slowly changes the methods by which she casts her glyph magic: changing from glyph papers to something more reusable like stamps when she runs out of paper in a fight one time, then from stamps to accessories with the glyphs etched into them when she accidentally drops the stamps during a chase, and so on as more situations foil her previous attempts to maintain her method of magic.
by the time shes both combining glyphs and drawing them onto her body in sharpie, she starts to take her own words from adventures in the elements maybe a bit too seriously, slowly but surely making the stretch from "magic is a gift from the island" to "the titan wields a divine force and i am merely borrowing it, channeling it" (i might even steal an idea from "All that's at stake" by The_Lampman, where she finds herself at the end of her rope by season 2's end and uhh. does the dramatic thing there go read the fic its really really good. but yeah that but with more of an eldritch contract kinda spin (at least the way she imagines it)).
im also thinkin theres gonna be a sideplot (episode? intermission?) in season 2A-ish where money gets tight again, so luz and eda run competing stands, right across the alley from eachother: magical tools sold by the human and human treasures sold by the witch. luz will be making and selling stuff like flasks with the water fountain glyph combo etched in for auto-refilling, and eda will be doing a big ol "clearance sale" (where everything is super marked up >:D) because theres currently no way to the human realm anymore and her shop is gonna have to close soon.
imagining some underlying themes and background plots involving personal agency and preconceived notions, particularly involving luz's growth as both a witch and a member of society, and other characters' growth thanks to luz's influence. as part of this, luz's public perception is gonna go from "lowly human" to "kind of a badass" throughout the story (and, ideally, SIGNIFICANTLY more gradually than in the show) (though there will still be some Key Moments that encourage this, cracking belos's mask being a major one).
along the lines of personal agency, ive been bouncing the idea around for a while now of a sideplot involving a character who is an animated object, similar to the talking typewriter in sense and insensitivity, given enough mobility to exist on their own, but struggling as essentially a second-class citizen due to their lack of a bilesac. luz would teach em all the ways she's learned how to wield magic despite the same shortcoming, and possibly expand "luz's magic bootcamp" into something a bit more broadly accessible to the community (i swear i read a fic once that had her spinning it up again with hunter as a new student, though he was disguised so that lilith wouldnt recognize him. i think the fic was less about teaching hunter glyphs and more about hunter learning how lilith changed after leaving the coven?).
also, an idea im really only like 50/50 on: a burnout plot. because luz is leading a BUSY life. 9x the average course load in school, as well as discovering/inventing a whole branch of magic, as well as working for eda, as well as having a social life for basically the first time in her life, as well as learning the ins and outs of a whole world and culture, as well as building a portal back to the human realm, as well as the multitude of misadventures she finds herself in. shes not just burning the candle at both ends, she cut the candle in half so she could burn the whole length of the wick. no matter how much she may enjoy all the things shes doing, the fact remains that shes doing a LOT. might even have her run out of adderall and start coping with caffeine if im feelin really angsty. significant burnout would probably set in around the middle of season 2-ish, but due to The Plot, she would probably be forced to endure it all the way until season 3-ish starts.
(the main reason im hesitant to do a burnout plot is because ive also got some Thoughts and Feelings on a Code Lyoko canon rewrite which tackles overwork and burnout in a much more central way, and i dont want to tread the same ground twice) (...though i guess id have to actually write either of them before im really treading any ground at all)

Phylogeny: Chapter 4
Read on AO3
Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3
The being, this Collector explained how they were going to play a game that King, her kid, told them about that was named after her house.
Then suddenly her, the CATTs, and some random wild witches that had managed to escape Belos were in the basement of her house. They all looked around at each other in confusion.
"EDA!" King called out. She turned around and spotted the little titan. Eda rushed forward and hugged him. Relieved to see him mostly safe. He had a cut on his head but Eda could deal with it as soon as everyone is safe and away from whatever this is. Speaking of everyone...
"Where is Luz?" Eda asked with a frown.
"And Hunter." Darius tagged on. King looked down in shame.
"They're in the human realm," King said. This earned a sharp intake of air from Darius and Raine.
"Well, we can go get them," Eda said.
"The uhm portal was destroyed by the Collector." King stuttered. Well, that is a setback but she could deal with that. They could always grab Luz's notes and make their own. Besides, that had to be the safest place for them right now with the Collector and possibly Belos hanging around.
"It's fine we will just build another one. Luz was close to getting one to work." Eda reassured herself more than anyone else.
"Where's your arm?" King asked. Raine rubbed their neck with a look of both guilt and relief.
"Long story. Let's focus on getting out of here." Eda said.
"Wait you know that symbol we found where you found me," King said.
"Vaguely," Eda admitted.
"Of course. I have never seen anything like that before." Lilith pipped in.
"It hides the wearer from the Collector," King told them. He then drew the symbol on the ground.
"Are you sure?" Raine asked.
"When I first encountered the Collector he couldn't see me. When I took off my collar he was able to. Though it doesn't do anything for noise." King explained.
The group began to draw the symbol onto their articles of clothing, well except for Darius and King.
"Absolutely not." Darius protested.
"Don't you want to be hidden from the Collector?" Raine asked.
"And get dirty, absolutely not." Darius huffed. Eberwolf took it upon themself to scramble up Darius. This left a series of dusty and muddy pay prints all over him. There was a look of pure anger at this. Everyone laughed.
"Looks like you are already dirty." Eda chuckled.
"Fine." Darius snarled. He began to draw the symbol on his cape. Eda handed King a piece of purple fabric with the symbol drawn on it. King quickly recognized Luz's old witch's wool cloak. He quickly put it on.
"What exactly happened?" Raine asked.
"Uhhhh..." King stuttered. Eda knew that something bad had happened.
"King," Eda said sternly. King flinched slightly.
"So Me, Luz, Hunter, Willow, and Gus all went to get Amity. We did but she wanted to confront her parents cause she was sure that they didn't know what Belos's plan is. So they did and left me behind. I found a trail of Hex-mix so I followed it. Alador was there instead of being with his wife." King started
"Of course he was." Darius cut in. This earned him glares from all the adults present.
"He complained about her for a while and then I told him what Belos's plans were and he was horrified." King continued ignoring the head witch's interruption. "He agreed to help. All the while Luz and everyone else had been captured by Odalia and Kikimora."
"WHAT?" Both Raine and Darius exclaimed. Everyone looked over at them. They both had looks of worry and looked slightly ill.
"Well Alador freed them and told her about Belos's plan but she already knew about it. Then began to fight with Odalia. Kikimora got fed up with this and captured Hunter. We tried to get him back but we couldn't. We were going to go get him at skull but then it was revealed that Luz had Gus cast an illusion over her and Hunter so that they would switch places. So Kikimora really had Luz." King explained hesitantly.
"Of course she did." Eda sighed. It was just like her reckless, selfless, human to switch places with one of her friends to go to Belos instead of them. It didn't make her feel any better but it at least it explained why they were near the portal.
"We all went after on a blimp. Odalia told the Emperor's Coven what happened cause we were attacked and shot down. I was knocked unconscious in the crash it's kind of blurry." King said. Eda looked at the little demon in concern.
"Are you ok?" Eda asked
"We managed to get to the skull." King continued without answering the question. This broke her heart. "Luz and Belos were fighting. Willow, Hunter, and Gus went to help her but they wouldn't let me. I got knocked off the platform when it shook and I ran into Kikimora who was thrown down there by Belos. She told me that Belos can't stop the Day of Unity only the Collector can. So she showed me where the Collector's disk was. I tricked the Collector into helping us against Belos but I had to free him. I made up a game and made up rules for it. The Collector stopped the Day of Unity and I think he killed Belos."
Eda surged forward and hugged the little demon. She had hoped that by sending Luz and him to the Blight Mannor that they would be safe but that wasn't what happened. It turned out that they would be in worse danger than any of them.
"Willow spotted the portal." King continued. "It was our only escape. But the Collector was unintentionally ripping the portal apart. Luz went to hold it together with her vines. She wanted to stay to make sure that you were ok. Then the Collector began to levitate me towards them. Luz wouldn't let me go. So with a blast of magic, I sent her through the portal and it was destroyed. Sorry."
"They're safe that's the important part. And we'll figure out this Collector. Build a new portal. We'll figure this out." Eda said. She wasn't sure who she was trying to reassure, herself or King.
"King! Where are you?" The Collector called out. Everyone froze and held their breath. Eda clutched King tighter to her in fear that The Collector would rip him from her arms. The powerful star kid looked around but didn't see their group. "Wow, you're a really good hider." With that, they moved on. They remained silent for a while not daring to breathe.
"We need to get out of here before they come back," Lilith said
"Let's hope that they didn't also replicate Hooty," Eda said. Hooty made noises of distress and Lilith patted his head in reassurance.
Eda and Lilith lead the CATTs through the house making sure not to run into other confused individuals or the being.

A red bird flew over to discarded debris. They began to peck at the debris as if that would suddenly put it back together or even activated, but it just sat there. The bird let out a series of sad and concerned frantic chirps that no one heard.
That the one person that they wanted to hear couldn't for they were gone. Far away and unreachable.

And for our final unnamed Coven Head Witch, we have the head of the Healing Coven, ready to do their own version of the ”I’m a healer, but…” meme. There are probably a ton of evil healer characters out there, but right now I’m drawing a blank. So for now… I’ll just call you Macaron.
Tumblr media
You were right before Alador, WHY DID YOU MAKE THOSE THINGS SO POWERFUL!?!?
Macaron threatens to cut Eberwolf’s throat, which forces Darius to surrender, Cubellios drags him back into his spot in the draining spell array while Terra removes Eda as Raine is carried in by the abomatons.
Tumblr media
With the correct Head Witch in the Bard spot, the draining spell activates properly this time. The people below are blissfully unaware of what’s going on above them. They cheer and celebrate, for once the eclipse completes, all wild magic shall be purged… and the world will be cast in darkness.
Tumblr media
We cut back to the fight between Philip (yeah, I’m just gonna start calling him that now) and Luz. Which is… decidedly less epic than their last confrontation. Probably because Philip isn’t playing around anymore, he’s going for the quick, decisive victory.
He claims he wants to ”help” Luz and offer to bring her back home; it’s so sad to see another human ruined by this place. And despite everything, despite his mutilations and mutations, I have a feeing Philip isn’t just talking about himself with that line. There is… someone else he thinks was ruined by the Demon Realm. And his failure to fix that perceived wrong could be what motivates his actions here, in offering to return Luz home.
If you look at Philip’s face in this shot, you can see that his scar has started to grow again, because it did not extend that far down his face a few seconds ago. It started growing when he transformed his arm.
The idea of the Titan I call Ymir still being alive in some form is brought up again, more explicit this time. Philip compliments Luz affinity for glyph magic and points out that it took him years to figure it out… almost as if the Titan itself didn’t want him to have that knowledge.
I brought up that theory n my Conspiracy Corner 3.0 post I made some time back, that Ymir still has some form of consciousness, or maybe a sort of ”will” left that can influence the world, if only ever so slightly. This was based on some of the events of Adventures in Elements and what Philip said in Elsewhere and Elsewhen where he mentioned that the world itself seemed to hide the glyphs from him.
I was never too sure about that theory, since the pieces of evidence was so few and far between. but no that Philip himself basically said it out loud… there might be some truth to it. To what extent, I don’t know.
But if there is still some of Ymir’s spirit left… I know someone who might just be able to communicate with it. And it’s someone who would be very eager to do it. Someone who wants to meet his dad.
You can now cross ”Conspiracy Corner” off your Lampman bingo card.
And with that, we have our second BINGO! for the night. #4 Gold came in with a dramatic diagonal bingo there, very nice.
Tumblr media
Yes Luz! Let him have it! Hit him where it hurts the most, right in his human pride!
I have said it before, and Luz is pointing out here, but Philip is barely a human anymore. And as those words leave Luz’ lips, the scar of what he did to himself remerges. Try as he might, but he can not hide it, the sins of his past will always reemerge.
He can talk all he wants about how the Demon Real corrupts and destroys, how it has clouded Luz’ sense of reality. But the truth is, the that there is only one person here whose sense of reality is warped, there is only one person here who has become corrupted, and there is only one person here whose very humanity has been destroyed.
In other words, Philip: you’re the asshole, asshole!

does Hunter not have powers because that's just how people/witches are sometimes, or is it a Grimwalker thing, or because humans can't do magic the regular way and Belos didn't want Hinter connecting any dots so he told him he was powerless? I'm just saying, has he ever tried using glyphs?
I'm probably not the best person to ask since I still haven't finished the series (lol), but this is a really interesting question!
When Hunter tells Luz that he's a powerless witch, he also says that it "runs in the family". Is this a lie that Belos told him? Or does it imply that the previous Golden Guards/Grimwalkers also didn't have magic?
Darius tells Hunter that his predecessor, the previous Golden Guard, was one of the strongest witches he ever knew. Hunter takes this to mean that Darius is judging him for being powerless, but Darius never actually says that. Even with this dialogue, I still think we can read it either way. Either something about Hunter has resulted in him being magic-less, or all of the Grimwalkers were. Any of his predecessors could also have been using artificial means of performing magic, like Hunter's staff before Flapjack, after all.
What's interesting is that I'm pretty sure we've seen Hunter use glyphs! The example that comes to my me is in Hollow Mind. I'm fairly certain that Flapjack doesn't come into the Emperor's mind with Hunter and Luz, and that Hunter escapes Belos's attack by using one of Luz's plant glyphs.
From how I understand it, though, since glyphs don't draw on internal magic, anyone should be able to use them. We've seen Eda and Lilith do so after losing their powers, but also Gus, when he wanted to use magic besides illusions. In the human realm, Luz's glyphs didn't activate. I think they must draw on some sort of ambient magic in the demon realm, or maybe even from the Titan, to work.
Sources of "wild magic", like the glyphs or even palismen, seem more like they're something innate to the realm that anyone can harness under the right circumstances.
Anyways, back to your initial question, I guess the answer is "no idea!" I'd say it's alright to come up with your own interpretation (barring any explanations from season 3 that I'm missing lol).
