True true- Nevela originally made adult cartoons like Daniel Mouse and Rock and Rule before the company got bought out and rebranded for kids. So I'd assume higher ups put a lot of restrictions on the show- again, I feel like I need to do more research on the topic before I start spouting nonsense about it.
And I definitely see where you're coming from with the redemption situation- man did try to kill the Care Bears multiple occasions violently. And poor Beastly... From an 80's lore standpoint- it also doesn't make sense because the Care Bear stare makes him physically hurt and its supposed to make people feel care or something like that. And from what I saw of the special- he gained power from hatred. So... how'd the guy with no heart who gets physical ailment from the power of caring get a magical girl transformation that redeems him? By absorbing care by mistake? That technically wouldn't count as a redemption in my book, that's more of a brainwash transformation, which means he could return as a villain in the future.
Again- I haven't seen the full episode yet so I might be talking nonsense. I'll be sure to give my opinion when I do a re-review of everything.
Okay... what rock have I been hiding under to NOT REALIZE NO HEART CAME BACK TO THE CARE BEARS FRANCHISE?!

I'm a little mixed on his voice and appearance and I'm sure it was just a cameo for Halloween but OH MY GOSH- IT 'S HIM! SORT OF! HOLY COW!
However- I am really really... not happy about what they did to Beastly. I get they've got a certain new style but... but come on man- why does he look like a cross between a gatcha and a chibi in the worst way?
Why are his arms and legs so thick? Maybe I just don't really like the art style and I'm of the bias and incorrect opinion that OG Beastly was better than well... the modern Care Bears cartoon style. I- I don't know. No Heart I can forgive. Beastly? They.... they massacred my boy! At least they made him good at something- I'll give the modern Care Bears points for that.

Made a little doodle in class with my Dimitri Dad head cannon/theory. I saw a post by @bbufann on twitter where poor Fanto had no family in his family portrait and felt really bad so... hopeful father-son headcannon bonding long before the disaster. Does that make it sadder or better?

I agree- I really like the first few episodes of the 80's one BECAUSE OF NO HEART! THE FORMULA WAS GREAT IN THE BEGINNING! It started to go off the walls after a while because of their kid friendly thing. I might want to do some research into that because I always wondered what the heck happened.
As for the whole redemption thing... I think I'd need to actually watch the episode and rewatch some of the 80's to see if the redemption was anything that really was deserving of the character. I was one of those kids who always liked the idea of redeeming villains so I might have some childhood bias jumping into that. I'm scared to touch it though because... my boy Beastly- no!!! What'd they do to you?!

Yeah- the 80's version, while falling to the pitfalls of lack of budget, definitely took the time to make the characters more expressive and stylistically interesting which I believe did get them in trouble a little bit too because Shrieky started to take the spotlight from No Heart who got more... comedified. Which there's not much of a problem with that considering who the target audience was at the time, but he was just such a good, intimidating villain.
I really don't like the art style they used for this Care Bears either which is one of the reasons I never personally got into it. But I was excited to see No Heart just suddenly out of the blue. I don't want to judge the new one too much because I've never watched it and I am sure there's a fan base for it that doesn't mind the art style. I did find it kind of funny that they had No Heart just floating in mid-air for some reason and it looked kind of janky. Rumor has it they're getting cancelled and judging by the art style- I'd say it also suffers from some "oh this is a quick cash grab" budget issues (sorry- no offense. I just really am not a fan of the style either). And I think they are trying to avoid too creepy of villains like the 80's had- I remember my step mom being concerned about Dark Heart being too scary for her kids (This was in the 2010's btw. I'm in my 20's- I just really like old cartoons lol) so... we get the "kid friendly" generic style which I will try to give heck on less because even though Beastly suffered significantly, they still kept No Heart relatively the same even if he was severely toned down.
