P L E A S E. like are you kidding. are you kidding???? you know, his pink hair is tied at #3 in the list of my favorite hairstyles/colors on him, but it is very close to that #2 spot which is also very close to the #1 spot. they are all very tightknit up there at the top. but when the pink hair was curly??? gooood. i think what it was with the pink hair is that it just complimented his skin tone so beautifully, like he has a fairly warm skin tone but he does at times have cooler toned moments and i think the pink being pastel made it very nice to pair with his skin and whatever he wore. plus i don't know if you agree or if you notice, but pink hair reeeaaaally makes his eyes sparkle. if you don't know what i'm talking about i don't mind providing examples (the first one being your set kldjlaj like bottom left)

endgame review (spoilers!!!)

okay so now that i’ve finally stopped crying and had a good night’s sleep here are all of my thoughts on avengers endgame:

things i liked:

the opening scene with clint losing his wife and kids -- my heart was in my throat the whole time; i felt so so bad for him

nebula and tony bonding

steve getting rid of that beard like thank god

tony and pepper reuniting

tony FINALLY telling steve off for everything; as a lifelong tony stan this was super cathartic

scott reuniting with cassie; in fact, all of scott’s scenes were awesome

bonus - the fact that the only reason any of this was able to happen was because a rat accidentally turned the machine back on

the fact that tony got married to pepper!!! and had a daughter!!! he was such a good dad to baby morgan i loved it

carol’s new haircut 👌 👌 👌

all of the time travel scenes. did the rules make sense? nope. did i love seeing the crew go back in time to all of the previous avengers movies and see their past selves and fuck around with the timeline? absolutely.

tony’s death. like am i sad that tony died??? 150%. but it made narrative sense, he got to be happy with his kid and pepper (for however brief of a time), he found the loophole in time travel that allowed him to save everybody, and he dusted thanos. “you can rest now.” 😭😭😭 a fitting ending for the strongest avenger.

the entire funeral scene. the viking funeral wreath thing with the “proof tony stark has a heart” on it??? GOOD SHIT. i was bawling.

happy and morgan. that kid’s going to have happy wrapped around her little finger.

tony’s final message

the thorkyrie scene (even if i didn’t like what was being said i’m glad they shared some screentime.)

sam becoming captain america (THANK GOD)

the end credits with rdj (the man who singlehandedly made the mcu amazing) being billed last. the theater was cheering and crying at the same time and it was amazing.

the final bit at the end with the noise from tony making his first suit. 😭😭😭

things i didn’t like:

the way they treated thor. taika made thor so amazing in ragnarok and the russos (and the screenwriters) got jealous and shit all over it!!! wtf!!! (and all of the fat jokes and jokes about his ptsd were NOT cool. didn’t like rocket slapping him out of his panic attack either.) can’t believe they made him an alcoholic who sits on his ass and plays fortnite all day. wtf.

for that matter -- i CANNOT believe that he would just up and fuck off with the guardians of the galaxy and abandon his people. is valkyrie a worthy leader??? absolutely. but so is thor!!! that was his entire arc in endgame like WTF!!!! (also the fact that we didn’t get a thorkyrie kiss is fucking CRIMINAL)

also why couldn’t he keep the short hair??? why did he have to get mjolnir back when taika went to all the trouble of showing he didn’t need the hammer to be a hero? did they just want to fuck up EVERYTHING that taika did?

the ending for steve. ‘nuff said.

no you know what? i’m going to go into this further. do i like steve? no. i never have. his actions toward tony in civil war put him on my shitlist forever, and that’s all i am willing to say about that. but you expect me to believe that steve fucking rogers (who KNEW that peggy moved on, lived a good life and had a husband and kids) really went back and fucked up the timeline just to be with her? he barely knew her!! they barely bonded in the first avenger at all!! also there are so many plotholes with how in the world he managed that (what happened when the other cap woke up from the ice???) also does this mean that his ‘romance’ with sharon is technically incest??? and did he just live out the rest of his life with peggy knowing that bucky was being tortured by hydra? insert “it’s bad writing” gif here.

(i am glad that he passed the shield onto sam though. bucky would have been a terrible choice for captain america.)

ALSO. you know who would have been a better choice to go back in time and live the rest of their life with the people that they loved and could not be with due to reasons outside their control? CAROL MOTHERFUCKING DANVERS. let her go back in time and live a happy life with her wife and kid. #carolmaria4evr

the fact that natasha died instead of clint. i literally cannot fucking believe that they fridged the first female avenger just for clint’s (and everyone’s) man pain. it was bad enough when they fridged gamora for thanos’s man pain. clint should have died in nat’s place and the fact that he didn’t is a huge fucking cop out and that’s the that on that.

for that matter -- clint’s entire storyline prior to going back in time was WILD. his only explanation for killing all those people was “thanos snapped half the universe and you didn’t die so imma kill you.” FUCKING WHAT????

the fact that the russos are patting themselves on the back for their “woke lgbt rep” that was actually just a “leave for the bathroom and miss it” extra. you know what would have been better? a stucky ending. a sambucky ending. carol going home to monica and maria. valkyrie kissing a girl. ANYTHING would have been better than that.

speaking of carol -- she was CRIMINALLY underused in this movie. she was barely shown mourning fury (and also!!! why did we get no confirmation about monica and maria????) and barely spoke to the team in general. i thought she was going to have a major role (and would help them go back in time) but she didn’t and that disappointed me.

did i like the fact that she destroyed thanos’s fleet? yes. but i wish she was used more. she’s the most powerful avenger ever!!! and i wish that she got to speak more with tony as they’re friends in the comics.

(BRIE LARSON IS AN ACADEMY AWARD WINNING ACTRESS AND THEY BARELY USED HER!!! LIKE WTF)

i won’t even get into the makeup thing bc that’s already been said and done. actually no i will. there was no reason for her to have perfect hair and lipstick and makeup. that’s not who she is. please let butch ladies continue to be butch please and thank you.

the fact that they didn’t bring gamora and natasha back :(

this might be controversial but i didn’t love the fact that pepper and tony suddenly retired to a lakehouse and became stay at home parents. i was totally expecting pepper and tony to keep running stark industries and make it into a charity organization that helped people in need/those affected by the snap.

the fact that they never fucking explained how time travel worked and WHY they couldn’t just go back and kill thanos as a baby (that was a good suggestion!). and the thing where nebula shot her past self and somehow lived??? it made no sense. i mean. i know it’s bad writing. but i was expecting it to be at least a LITTLE better. where are my explanations.

speaking of bad writing -- did the avengers ever come out and say the reason that everyone got dusted? did everyone know it was bc of thanos? why are some places in such states of disrepair and others are not? who ruled wakanda since shuri and t’challa were dusted? so many unanswered questions. rip.

the directing of the final battle was on par with the throne room battle scene in the last jedi in that both are chaotic and messy and that’s the that on that. as was the scene where hawkeye was beating up the yakuza. messy. lame. yawn.

the scene with all of the female superheroes. was it cool? sure. do i wish natasha could have been there? YES. do i wish that the mcu had more female superheroes? DOUBLE YES. was it a blatant attempt for the russos to pat themselves on the back and be like “sEE!! WE’RE FEMINISTS!!! LOOK AT US!!”?? definitely.

honestly, i was expecting the acting to be way worse than it was based on how all my mutuals were going off about it. overall, though, it was clear in some scenes that the actors had no idea what the context of their lines were and the acting was pretty meh throughout, and for the biggest marvel movie of the year the acting should be a damn sight better than “meh”. but this just reinforces what i know already, which is that the russos are shitty directors. get them as far away from the mcu as possible please and thank you.

things i wish we got:

a carolmaria reunion

a peter&may reunion

a fury&everyone (and esp a fury&carol reunion)

clint sacrificing himself instead of nat sacrificing herself

valkyrie talking to thor about overcoming alcoholism and ptsd

thor staying in new asgard with his people

steve going back and dancing with peggy like he promised and THEN going back to the future (where all of his friends are) and retiring or helping fury bring back shield.

better writers

better directors

an end credits scene that set up phase 4 (tho i assume we will be getting that in spiderman far from home)

tldr - thor got fucked over. tony is a hero and the love of my life. steve shouldn’t have gone back in time to be with peggy. nat shouldn’t have been fridged. the writing was meh and the directing was worse. not the complete and utter shitshow i was expecting, but not the so-called greatest movie in the mcu. give rdj an honorary oscar. 6/10.

oh, you’re talking about that one sheef artist who told me that they don’t care if their actions hurt people, they’re gonna do what they please?

alrighty, lemme explain you something.

i don’t really care if you read this cause more than likely, you’re not gonna and you just wanted some moral superiority high out of this, but i’ve lost interest in this whole fiasco cause someone acted like getting criticized was the equivalent of death threats. i don’t have any sympathy for people who act like someone being uncomfortable is oppressing them and that really hurtful actions that are perpetuated is just the hurt person overreacting.

i sent that person 7 tweets in a convo they initiated, asking why people are upset at them drawing a canonically gay male character with women. they asked why their sh///llura doodle garnered such negative attention.

and here i come cause i had been considering following them cause i had seen their art around sometimes so i periodically check on blogs that i am considering following so i can scope out their opinions and make sure they don’t produce content i don’t want to see. i won’t excuse a person’s pretty content if they have terrible opinions.

so, here they are, saying their instagram, which i don’t have one, is a mess with people calling it gay erasure and homophobia, and they said they didn’t know why people were calling them homophobic for it. so, i had the idea in mind to approach them and tell them that yes, there are people who find it abhorrent to see people place gay or lesbian characters in m/f relationships. they have the right to feel uncomfortable and their personal reasons are valid.

i wasn’t really a fan of how they were reacting to the criticism and yeah, perhaps people were going overboard and being really rude, but the general consensus was the same and perhaps if it was stated calmly and differently and without “u deserve to die for drawing this i hope u get the electric chair” or “you should have been aborted” that usually accompanies those kinds of tweets.

so, this is what i told them:

i understand that people are less willing to listen to you when you come at them screaming and calling all kinds of insults and that your lack of civility will turn them off from wanting to read what you have to say.

in it, i addressed that yes, what you’re doing is engaging in harmful content and creating harmful content.

unfortunately, i can’t gather their response to show you, but i’m pretty sure you can go back through their replies and see what they told me.

they had said that it was censorship that people were imposing. they also remarked that they drew m/m content such as sh///nce and sheef, and that there isn’t any way they could be homophobic for drawing that

this is what i told them:

in their response to me was basically “i’ll do what i want, idc if people get upset at what i do, they can just block me and move on.”

and this is my response and the last time i engaged with them:

and here is basically me saying, “hey, don’t be upset if people are uncomfortable with what you’re doing and the depictions you’re creating”. i didn’t kick and scream and cry and call them all kinds of deplorable and terrible names, or @ them constantly and tell them to die or some shit like that.

this is all due to them being unable to handle people being upset at their actions and criticizing them and acting like people approaching them civilly is akin to sending death threats. y’all really need to stop thinking that your actions are free of criticism and consequences.

people are are affected by another’s actions, esp a minority group, expressing that they’re uncomfortable and hurt by what you do, and being told in the end:

and you know what? it’s not my fault or my problem that they’re acting childish and blaming people being upset and uncomfortable on them and brushing off any valid concerns.

i don’t give a fuck that they’re leaving, i don’t give a fuck that they blocked every single person that was telling them respectfully why they’re uncomfortable and acting like they were bullying and oppressing them. refusing to see what people have to say when they’re affected by your actions and perpetuating something that they have to suffer for in real life without care or refusing to take the steps to make sure you they cultivate it with concern and caution is pretty immature and dumb as hell.

i have no sympathy for someone who cries and whines about people being uncomfortable about their actions like biphobia or racism or misogyny, actual actions that are legit harmful and not “they like a ship i don’t! this makes me so mad!” kind of bullshit fandom has been producing and creating false dog whistles, who wants to participate in gay erasure and homophobia and then gets upset at others for their reaction to it.

like i said, i don’t care anymore, they can leave, they can take their sensitivity and thin skin somewhere else. it’s their problem that they don’t want to handle the backlash to their actions, esp ones that hold a heavy weight, for a situation that they created and decided that they couldn’t hold the power anymore and ran off cause it became too much.

fandom doesn’t absolve you of your behavior and people with hefty followings need to realize that their actions are going to reach a large audience. people with big followings tend to use those followings to garner sympathy and paint themselves as a victim of a situation they created and are looking to be excused and that their following can forgive them without doing anything to make up for their behavior.

you perpetuate hurtful behavior? you’re going to get people who won’t be intimidated by the amount of followers you have and and confront you.

i never harassed, bullied, or tried to do what i can to run them off; they chose to overreact to people affected by their actions and blame them for it. it’s not my fault that they’re upset about it, and i frankly don’t care that they didn’t like it.

like i said, this is the first and only time i’ve ever talked to them in 7 tweets, and somehow, that counts as bullying and trying to run people out of the fandom.

but hey, they should get a pass for their gay erasure and admit they know they’re doing it and that they’re gonna continue to produce content that is hurtful to others, and having no problem with seeing a gay character and deciding they don’t have to respect them or the audience it was intended for. all because they’re an artist and people wanna bend over backwards to make sure that assure that person that their hurtful actions are soothed.

but hey, poc or lgbt expressing concern over someone’s behavior are always seen as the aggressive ones out to ruin people’s fun cause they want people to “stop having that fun” cause the fun they’re having is hurting people.

and that is exactly what this artist is claiming, except knowing that their following is gonna believe them regardless of how in the wrong they were.

also, y’all really gotta stop acting like “anti” can be applied to every little situation that causes you infractions. someone letting you know that hey, this action hurts me and i’m concerned about your willingness to engage in it? not an anti. it’s not “anti-like” behavior to want respect and for your boundaries to be respected. it’s not anti behavior because they want you to stop perpetuating the very things that hurt or have hurt them.

yes, i can recognize an anti’s behavior because they use false narratives to push their agendas and will witch hunt people who engage in content they don’t like and will result to drastic measures to make sure someone doesn’t do that. anti behavior is misusing and abusing social justice language to paint their narrative as righteous regardless of what the situation is.

someone telling you that you’re erasing a canon gay character (you want all the interviews, podcasts, and gifs of them calling shiro “a gay man” and that his lack of reaction to women was supposed to be a hint at his sexuality? i can give you all of them but most of y’all a”ct like you can’t fuckin’ read any of the interviews since sdcc came out) and that it makes them uncomfortable? not an anti, but y’all are are acting like you’re being oppressed for people being upset about shipping a gay man with women. stop acting like the homophobia you’re engaging in is just some small, quirky thing you can ignore and that it’s okay to use because your interests need it to make it happen.

I’m foregoing the pros/cons format here but generally-speaking my negative points are still gathered at the top w the highlights near the end.

Obviously, between letting a sex offender have a platform in mass media and potholes, I’d choose the latter. My below crits absolutely are not a demand for Spacey to be brought back and he can die in a fire for all i care. I just wish his character’s absence was not the nº1 reason for this season not making any sense

as far as i can gather, this season’s primary arc is as much about Frank’s death (in lieu of Doug’s) as it is Claire’s emotional and political divorce from Frank while she undergoes your traditional postbreakup analysis of who she was pre Frank and post Frank and were Frank actually there this idea might have legs

...but instead we have Doug ://

the level of intensity that the plot demands cannot be carried by forcing Doug into being a deeper character than he was intended, all the way until the end, he truly just reads as either a pitiful sadist or a henchman. It’s disharmonious and dangerously close to bad.

Frances Underwood makes more sense if Frank dies in episode 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s literally going to be his reincarnation!!!!!!!

literally...who cares if Doug gets stabbed by Frank’s letter opener? whomst?

Doug can’t be Frank’s proxy, but sans a certain pedoph*le, the plot will just have to suffer.

Other side effects of Doug’s undeserved promotion include but are not limited to:

forcing Doug to share the role of antagonist with the Shepards, yet another New Villain © that feels totally unnecessary and confusing (the Conways at least got two seasons)

Frank’s diary feels forced and out of character for someone decidedly so unsentimental

How does Claire have a bun in the oven when she clearly didnt sleep with Frank for all of season 5 and locked herself in her room while he was being assassinated? How is a Dramatic paternity test not going to be insisted upon in the show’s universe?

fixation on Frank’s will as a McGuffin is really... I don't know boring considering no one cares for the guy? What property of his does claire stand to lose? I’m sure the rich people fandom can speculate but i honestly needed this manifested in the show via some examples instead of the grand abstraction that is The Will bc losing Frank’s assets would set Claire back but it would not directly threaten her presidency. Not to mention that i’m not entirely sure Frank’d have Doug of all people as his sole heir if it didn't serve as revenge against Claire, which just lowers Doug’s importantance even more

Frank never cared for Doug, a largely unlikeable character, which we already knew from the beginning, so Doug’s entire arc is pathetic at best as well as his tangential inclusion in the Cliare v Frank arc

My major problems with Doug’s character began as early as season 4.

Did not understand why they didn't actually have Doug switch sides by joining the Dunbar campaign in earnest in season 4. Like... it’s such an obvious opportunity to Thicken The Plot © that it’s reached this gif levels of dropping the ball:

P much everything about Doug’s character since then is just so.... lacking, while for the last few seasons they give him depth when he magically has empathy for one (1) woman before she dies (possibly as a direct result of his actions). This entire plot about him evaluating why he was so loyal to Frank could've been unpacked whilst he avoids Dunbar finding out about the murders he did commit. I’d rather him having agency than be a flat, troubled underling.

Aright I'm going to stop complaining about Doug. In season 3 and 4, his insecurity over being replaced and his sacrifices for Frank (and subsequent guilt) came close to giving us a real Moment with him as we delve more into how colourless his life outside of work really is. But beyond that, when his character started getting repetitive, there’s very little to compensate for his alternating acts of extreme narcissism/violence versus his childish confusion / self pity when he doesn’t get what he wants.

Anyways I'm basically at a point where I’d be okay if Frank’s long-lost cousin replaced Doug replacing Frank

I’m appreciating the writers’ distinct refrain from plot formats and that the seasons progressively move towards the Underwoods but what if just for circularity and added balance we return to having a full-on reporter B plot in s6? More emphasis on Janine and Tom’s sleuthing, culminating in Tom’s assassination and Janine publishing the tell-all expose against Frank---including a reference to Zoe---that becomes the magnum opus of her career (and Claire using that against Frank). I just think the season needed more balance that Doug, the Shepards and Tom were not offering

The Shepards and Tom, meanwhile, are decidedly banal. First of all, I had a hard time even telling Bill and Tom apart esp given that they were introduced one after the other. All white guys are the same.

Bill just kind of sits around until he has a platform to reference his favourite action movies doesn't he?

Moreover what does Tom do!? he doesn't want power, he doesnt seem to want anything. He’s just kind of there?

Unlike the Conways, the Shepards don’t have a clear goal and are not often in direct conflict with Claire the way Frank and Conway were. They want to control the presidency for money and Claire is always bouncing back from reliving her girlhood to political rivalry w Anette, yes, but what does that mean? What are the consequences? The logistics are so indirect and complicated, what precisely does Anette want? And why does anyone care? The Shepards are extremely boring.

Frank’s asides were purple and long af so I appreciate Claire’s succinct style not to mention her fantastic screen presence. I’m left to wonder, though, if maybe hers and every other aside in HoC is a little too on the nose. Like, they didn't hafta spell it out that the bird in the wall was a representation of Frank’s shadow trapping her, I think we got that

The artistic intercuts to Claire’s troubled childhood wherein a group of bullies coerce her into stripping naked through the forest, while visually stunning and clever for its self-explanatory nature, feel really passive. They don't visually show us any reason for her not to resist, the bullies even let her keep her clothes after cutting them off her so we’re left to wonder why she does nothing....

Claire was raised to be ~proper~ so her resistance (likely) comes in the form of biting, passive-aggressive poise which is hard to get across in a silent montage but it just feels.. weird

Frances Underwood is going to have a very sad childhood

nearly all the Claire flashbacks are cinematic masterpieces and as much i think Claire’s backstory deserves more attention, i also appreciate the minimalism and the choice humanising moments of her adolescence

listen I'm sure we all agree Robin Wright is peak acting but the actor for young Claire, who has the arguably harder task of copying Wright is fantastic

Of all the characters who crop up every season seemingly out of nowhere only to disappear once more once when the plot the Underwoods are done with them, Jane is one of my favourites and possibly one of the greyest characters alive. Smart, mysterious, worldly, a bit of a hippie despite her job, severe despite her sense of humour. Really loves her extremely pedestrian surname. We stan.

Secondary characters rarely get anything close to a backstory on this show, esp ones that were introduced so late. Still, her motivations seem more complicated then others (i.e. betraying Cathy, one of two people she cares about) and I wonder if they deserve a bit more of an explanation. Especially seeing as she has a relationship with every major character.

If anyone deserves a spin-off it might be Jane and her name-dropping career/social life

Cathy faking her own death with a terrible french accent? On stan !!!

Seth teasing Doug even while he’s completely undervalued by everyone around him is a power move

Impressed that they managed three characters named Tom, their distinctly different appearances and the fact that they're almost never in the same POV shots works to separate them.

Claire using the word “female” even facetiously is cringe

Whenever they use the cinema room, the movie they watch is always symbolic. Before the 2017 election, Frank and Claire imitate the characters in Double Indemnity, and this season a pregnant claire watches Rosemary’s Baby. Clever.

i liked the whitehouse tour guide’s inclusion and the cameo from _____ though this season was especially white without their usual token secondary character

So overall i liked season 6 as an exploration of Claire’s character even while it did v little justice to most of the other characters and unfortunately spacey’s absence did affect the storyline

and finally: that cinnamontography !

Not that the series should be pushed past its prime, but wouldn’t it be interesting to see Claire as a mother?

okay, a couple of things I have to talk about from JWFK (mainly clawen really) because I can’t contain myself anymore. If you haven’t seen it and want to stay s*poiler free, don’t read below the cut. This is all sporadic and I’ll probably be more coherent after I see it again, but after my initial view....

ASDFGHJKLASFGHJKLASHJKLASDFGHJKL now that that’s out of the way... SO MUCH CLAWEN. SO MUCH CLAIRE BEING BADASS. SO MUCH OWEN GIVING CLAIRE HEART EYES.

Let’s start with the big kahuna... the kISS. So... I was initially pretty bummed that they weren’t starting out together in this film since back in 2015 I hoped they’d be engaged or married with a little baby Charlie Grady. However, I kept telling myself that they were going to get back together in this movie. They had to, right? Still, I was scared- that not only they wouldn’t get back together in this film (since Ellie and Allen didn’t end up together and I thought they were going that route) and that we wouldn’t get a kiss and we had to wait another 3 years for a maybe kiss.

Because fact of the matter is that this has always been a major dino franchise which is great because dinos !!!! but Clawen... so yeah I was filled with anxiety but I kept my hope, and it was building with each moment they had leading up to the kiss.

quick note: I’m so thankful for the writers we have. For them taking the time to develop the characters and their arcs and clawen’s love story. It’s not just a humor romantic side bit for shit’s and giggles- it’s REAL. There was a lot of emphasis on the first without being overkill (for general audience def not me ever), but they carried on with it so well in this one. I only wish we got more info and details as to what happened between them, but I understood why they can’t fit in everything.

Another thing- I kept thinking that if they were going to kiss in this movie and get back together, how awesome would it be if Claire was the one to initiate it this time? I mean tbh at the end of the day I didn’t care as long as their lips locked, but THEY FOLLOWED THROUGH WOW WHAT A PARALLEL TO THE FIRST??

When I saw the indoraptor’s claw dig into her leg I felt like crying out because poor Claire!! I hate seeing her in pain!! And then my immediate thought: Owen is going to LOSE HIS SHIT. I loved that instead of him running off right away- he stayed. He couldn’t leave her. How he kept telling her to look at him, the softness and care and concern in his voice... my GOD. And then when she looked at him aND PLANTED ONE ON HIM. I stopped breathing. The audience cheered but I- lost my damn mind.

The look on his face- he just- he loves her so much and the fierce in which she kissed him was just so familiar? It was an “I still love you, you idiot, now go save that little girl and then we’ll come back to each other because we’re inevitable.”

Their first JW kiss was hot and hurried in the middle of chaos again, but it was more of an adrenaline rushed “thanks for saving me god I love you that was so hot” type of kiss. This was just screaming with pure love? That kiss was filled with the deep relationship you know they built. A desperate plea to go and do what is necessary but also a “please don’t die and I’m not letting you go without letting you know I still love you”. I keep quoting what that kiss said just because it said so much?? I have to hand it to Bryce and Chris and their acting. Their genuine care and love and respect for each other as friends really bled into clawen and you could just feeeeel that history and connection between them so well.

I could talk about that kiss forever but I’ll try to move on to some other things now:

*Real quick and honestly my mind is a mess because this was a jam packed movie with parallels that were so beautiful and I have so much to say, but my fave parallels have to be the kiss, the shot of Claire in the elevator asdfghjkl when I saw the heels and jeans I lost my shit... and her hair up in a pony tail in more casual clothes but still badass af... I lost it. Did I not say that already? Also, Bryce looked gorgeous in this movie. I mean, she always is but... jfc.

-Another parallel that I loved was when Claire was told she had to speak to Owen and she got that look in her eyes... she didn’t roll them like last time, she looked... scared almost. To go back there. Then when she went to see him and she was fixing her hair (against like the first part) and was so shy and softly said his name “Hey Owen” ahem “why do you call me Mr. Grady?” I love a parallel and progression in one !! Also, I def need to see again but... he was singing “I still love you” right? Anyway, I died.

-Hearing Bryce’s laugh in this movie was everything I never knew I needed so much. At first I thought she was quickly drunk or something... but then hearing them talking and lightly arguing about what happened between them gave me all the feels because YES THEY WERE IN A RELATIONSHIP BEFORE. THEY’VE SLEPT TOGETHER. WERE GOING TO LIVE TOGETHER. I-

When his voice got all soft again and told her her skin looked nice I ???? Like someone on here mentioned, I bet he call(ed)s her beautiful all the time. When they were together and in bed. In the mornings. Cuddling. He would call her beautiful just because asdfghjkl anyway.

-Claire’s look of anguish when Owen couldn’t get into the gyrosphere. When he was in the water and the look they shared. Again, Bryce and Chris’s acting was impeccable. It just screamed how much they were scared of losing one another.

-Small moment, but when Claire saw that Owen was in the back of the plane asdfghjkl cute af

-There were so many cute little moments. I loved the teamwork. When they were trying to get the blood from the t-rex and Owen was laughing at Claire being on top of it. Also- Claire on top of a t-rex? I can’t wait for all the parallel gifs from the first movie with this one. Claire is one badass babe.

wHEN THEY FELL ASLEEP AND HER HAND WAS I N S I D E HIS SHIRT honestly it couldve been outside- but no they were like lETS HAVE IT INSIDE SINCE THEY USED TO HAVE ALL THE SEX I see you Jay you beautiful director you. AND THEN OWEN’S LIL SMILE WHEN HE SAW HER AND THEN HE SMELLED HER HAIR AND THEN PRETENDED TO BE ASLEEP WHEN SHE STARTED TO STIR R U KIDDING ME THIS IS WHAT FIC DREAMS ARE MADE OF I swear the entire JW crew ships clawen we are hashtag BLESSED.

-I love their trust for one another and how well they knew each other and I love that that was something so prominent yet casual all the same? All the teamwork and Owen telling her to start the truck when they were getting off the island...

-When Owen was going to see Blue and Claire was worried and Owen started to play into her emotions because it’s him and she did that little gasp because this is the part where he tells her he loves her or kisses her (also for audience reasons) and it was just so aslsadjla cute and funny and them and also worked perfectly because when they DID kiss it was 97654321 times more emotional so 10/10 writing.

-Claire knowing how much Blue means to Owen. Owen telling her it wasn’t her fault. Owen talking to her softly when she was trying to decide to save the dinos. His hand on her shoulder.

-When they stood like a family next to Maisie and they all but drove into the sunset together?? I guess they’re parents now??????? Did this actually happen?? I do hope Maisie asks for a little sibling and if there’s a time jump in the next one they need to be married with a little Grady baby.

Anyway, this is all over the place and I’m sure I’ll analyze more the next time I go see it because it just has to happen. I loved it so much I got so emotional and overwhelmed bc I missed this movie and these two characters. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since the first which changed my life and ugh I can’t wait for the next one but also don’t want it yet bc I’m soooo not ready to say goodbye to it. At all. Ever. Can it just be a tv show??

I was very pleased with the clawen we got. Even if they weren’t together in the movie, we got so many scenes with them together and it exceeded my expectations with the love that was felt, the looks we got, the CUDDLING, the KISS. THEY REALLY DID KISS AGAIN MY GOD.

I’ll probably do another post on just Claire on how badass she was because that’s a whole other essay with how amazing her arc and progression is. But real quick:

-she looked so beautiful I will never stop talking about this

-boots or heels it doesn’t matter she will save the day

-she served so many good looks in this movie asdfghjkl Claire in jeans and all nice and corporate and then badass I’m- overwhelmed

-how sweet she was with Maisie WHAT A MOM

-when she gets on the roof with the rifle and it’s raining ummm am I the only one who go seriously turned on? ESP after getting badly injured?? yooooo

-how she went from “the assets” to dino!mom trying to save them all just makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and cry forever

-WHEN SHE BANGED THAT ASSHAT’S HEAD AGAINST THE BARS AND OWEN LOOKED SO PROUD OF HIS GIRL ASDFGHJKL; again: I was turned on

-she loves Owen so much

speaking of Owen he was so mature and loves Claire so much he literally only went because of her you can’t convince me otherwise even tho he wanted to save Blue too. He loves his girls... and he has another one now.

ahhhh ok I know I’m missing a lot of things- I want to talk about the plot and other characters, visuals, etc later in more detail but I had to get all my clawen excitement out because I was bursting. Still am tbh. I can’t wait to see it again and for everyone to post gifs so I can catch the little things I missed. And oh the fics... how I missed them.

Honestly I think this swap has put me in a good position. I know enough people well enough to have options, but not well enough that I think I'll be targeted because of it. This tribe swap is the best thing to ever happen. I actually know where I stand with Rebecka which is great. I know she will always have Dan's interests over mine so that is something I need to think about long-term, but for now it is okay because we are working together. Right now my number 1 is still Jay, I just have a really good feeling about Jay. Bryan worries me because he is an amazing player and I did vote him out in Alaska so who knows if he is bitter about that but we're talking right now so that is good. The second I saw Madison on the cast reveal I knew that I wanted to work with her because we did not get to in Himalayas and I knew ever since then that I wanted to work with her. So I FORGOT TO CONFESS HAHAHAH But this tribe swap puts me in a seemingly good spot my tribe seems strong and capable! An alliance was formed by Olivia that consists of her, me, Francie, Sammy and Autumn. I doubt that it will last simply due to the fact that it was based on absolutely nothing game wise. Im looking forward to working with Autumn closely as well as Emily so theres that! The 99 bottles challenge was intersecting as Jay would say. IT FUCKNG STRESSED ME THE FUCK OUT. This tribal is gonna be batshit!! Literally twenty minutes ago everyone was like "let's just go nick" but now I'm really Thinking About It and. That would be stupid. If you look at Madison/Dan/Rebecka as a trio (with Rebecka/Madison as a core duo OR Rebecka/Dan as a core duo) and with Bryan as kind of a gentle soul sucking their teet (love u bryan), then that's a solid group of 4. If Timmy and I (I guess I'm a meninst now bc we're f2 or some shit) go with that group, leaving out Brian and AnnMarie, to vote out Nick, that puts the two of us on the bottom of a 6-person alliance. The next tribal could be 4 vs. 4. If we save Nick, however, and vote off Rebecka - therefore voiding both the madison/rebecka duo and the dan/rebecka duo, thus destroying the trio - the next tribal could be 5 vs. 3 and we won't have one of the biggest social threats still in the game with two of her closest allies up with her. I think that would put me in a much better position long-term because I really need a core group of people who aren't ingrained with Emily/Francie/Heather/Olivia come a merge situation where it's my kids vs. me. Timmy, Brian, AnnMarie, and (unfortunately) Nick could be an integral part of that. Especially Brian, since he's new. I can use new. I need to keep around players who don't know me that well.

Jay is cracked and I love her for it. We are playing so messy and are in alliances with literally the entire tribe. Love being a swing vote. Splitting up Rebecka and Dan is going to be a great move, it will suck personally and Dan will give me a lot of shit for it (and Rebecka might too) but it is just a game so have to have fun and being a mess is fun to me. Might as well be toward the top of a group than knowing I'm at the bottom of the group of 4 (Dan/Rebecka/Madison/me). I'm really just hoping this doesn't hurt me having a relationship with Madison at some point because I still want to work with her. The only worry in the plan is Brian because who knows what goes on in his head but I know he isn't controlled by Rebecka who is just telling everyone her plan and adding people to alliances without asking. Like I never said I was okay with her/dan/madison (I was happy to have a group, but a better one came along). All in all though, Jay is my number one so whatever benefits us both is what I am here for.

I also did Pancreas and got a 29 minute score which I am assuming is terrible but who knows. I love Emily and Heather but I know for a fact, without confirmation, those two are working together. Emily has fawned over Heather since isle of skye and I just know they're a pair. I love both SO MUCH but i can't fully trust either. I have not confessed about my new tribe yet. I am now on the Atitlan tribe which is fun, and I have Emily who is a queen. Plus now I have some of my Isle of Skye people. I've missed playing with Olivia so much, ughh love of my life. And Tim is such an iconic king. Also Jacob from my other tribe, who has been inactive recently. I am so glad we didn't have to complete the full challenge because that was something I did not want to do at all (sorry Cameron). The only.nad part is that we have to go to tribal. Nick's name has been flying from all directions, and it's the obvious easy vote, but Nick is saying that Dan and rebecka are a powerful team. Jay has said that as well, so I don't really know what may go down at tribal. What I do know is that Nick will probably be the person voted out, as long as nothing super dramatic happens in the tribe. I'm super close to Jay and she's just amazing, Dan's super nice, and I LOVE BRYAN OK HE IS SO NICE AND I HOPE HE DOESNT END UP BEING A JERK in the long run. I'm so happy that I get to play with these people, and I can't wait to start a good alliance in this game with them.

I told Nick EXPLICITLY last night not to tell Madison about our plan or alliance because she would tell Dan and Rebecka. Today, I wake up to the intel (from Dan) that Nick told Madison about everything. And guess the fuck what!! She told Rebecka and Madison. I'M NOT DUMB, NICK! Thankfully they all thought Nick was trying to make a power play and they don't believe I'm with Nick. NICK DO YOU NOT REALIZE HOW CLOSE I AM TO SLITTING YOUR THROAT!!! If you're gonna be loose-lipped I'm going to have to vote you out! Ugh. This is such a prickly position. I would much rather work with Brian/AnnMarie/Timmy just because they don't know me as well as Rebecka and Madison (and to an extent Bryan through Emily) do. I'm trying to figure out who the most disenfranchised people on the tribe are and use them because if I can be their only source of trust, they're always going to be loyal to me. The problem is that I don't want the next tribal to be 4 vs. 4. That gets messy really fast. If I do vote for Nick in the big group of Madison/Rebecka/Bryan/Dan/Timmy, that puts me in an alliance with all the power players and leaves out AnnMarie and Brian, who would be much smarter to have on my side in a merge situation, unless I want to go meat shield tactic in this game. I need this to hold my fluids 💦 .

I am feeling sickly today. I am sore 😖 but I feel chills. I did a lot yesterday and I was doing it in a very interspersed divvied way and how it works for my allotted time 🕰 particularly when I need and feel like eating 🍽. I am hungry 😋. Shocker. I ate so much cookies 🍪 yesterday and I feel like I am nullifying the good work that I have been doing. There is some hope. I compared my STATs 📊📈📉from last week, a little weight difference but a point in body fat, gawd, that one percent is huge to me. I don’t have an idea 💡 of what that means visually. Oh, right Laura said at around 6 pounds adipose tissue loss. I chat with Heather and she also said a great point, muscle weight and 🆚 fat weight. Ah 🧐. I am not going to lie and everybody are sensitive about it, there are many girls far too thin and are going to look 👀 skeletal 🦴. My friend Susan and I are astutely talking about the pain and hurts that they don’t deal with that they feel it’s their weight they have to control to an extreme degree. I also added social forces such as the pressure of catching a husband 👰🏼 and appearing like the stick thin models like in Victoria’s Secret, etc. They are not selling sensible. It’s not healthy. They also have a cader of trainers 👟 to make sure they don’t keel over. Yes, you can die from an eating disorder. I feel that these girls and boys who despite an imbalance in body image of all things go to the gym 🏃🏼‍♀️ 💪🏾 and can bravely face their fears of being big and work on recovery. I hope 🤞🏾 they feel good about themselves and lead to acceptance of things as they are and they can work on being better. I on the other hand look 👀 at how unshapely my thighs are. However, I keep my desired body in mind. It’s appropriate that I remind everyone of what it is.

Also, before I left it out, yesterday, I didn’t follow Laura’s meal 🥘 plan. I got hungry 😋 right away. You should ask her for the winning formula. Every Filipino doctor 🥼 would swear 🤚🏾 by rice 🍚. Nope. She actually went to school for it and has a license. Like a graduate 🎓 degree. She has passion for food 👩🏼‍🍳 and went overseas to learn more about the diets people who live over a hundred partake. She invited me to her class. I am looking 👀 forward. I refine my approaches esp behaviors towards the stuff we put in our mouths, how you get them and prepare. I am a freak of nature. I am tractable and can adapt without hardship. When I see a problem, I look 👀 at it straight in the eye and make the necessary changes.

I just noticed that my Dad is being militaristic. He was like that too yesterday. I scampered prepping my gym bag. I usually bark back but I am being a good daughter. Now that I see that he’s being strict, I should answer him back not because I am like that but to give him a sense of what he’s being like and put it in a context. Reality testing if you will to see if the way to doing it is the best way or if something is not going right figure out why and as always, there is more than one way to doing things and not everyone are built a like. I maybe the stellar 🌟 kid, but currently, I am a royal 👑 screw up. Ugh 😑.

Hmmm... Ok, let’s channel what Friday was like. It’s a haze now. I was off Saturday and Sunday was so not princessy 👸🏼. I know I have a schedule 📅 but my execution and handle of time is loose. It’s like I know the big rocks, the little rocks are what I do in between I do in between. They are not planned. They are random, haphazard, a whirlwind and on a whim. I took a lot of pictures 📸 that day because I was not at the bottleneck. I keep on saying to everyone that every floor space is packed with machines. Oh, it could get busy. I didn’t eat my breakfast 🥞 in the car 🚙. I ate with leisure in the café slowed and mindfully to myself. I saw Katie and she gave me a side low five. I have been muscle rolling and because I can’t feel the tightness and pain in my back I say it works. I do it how Molly and Ian said I should, before and after.

I had limited time although it was more than what I usually have on the end of the week. I was excited 😆 because I get to lift weights. Weird gal. But I am past what girls think 🤔 or feel about being muscular. For me, it’s part of the job and really I see the power 💥 in it really. I see the oozing confidence on the girls with well formed shoulders and I want to be just like them. I am intimidating, what a surprise, and I don’t want to instill fear. I want to be approachable and for the most part I don’t want to teach that those you look 👀 up to are nasty . In fact, I am noticeably too kind. Good, I get to be myself. I know amazing people get raps and atttact enemies. It’s great that you don’t lose yourself in the process and be who you are and not be full of yourself. Competition throws you off, show who is the talent. Right, I am on offense.

I cannot remember what my impressions were of the day. Usually, I have a recollection of what I was thinking 💭 or what I was feeling. After three days. Maybe I should look at the pictures to remind me of things.

I started in the paddle bike 🚲 for sure. Was this the day I saw Susan, Tito Ronald and Emily? IDTS. Ah, my sister and her BFF were there. She was texting me 📲 and she was at the gym. I didn’t start at the paddle bike 🚲 I was at the rower 🚣🏼‍♀️. I was at the Alpha CrossFit section. Vie, you are not intimidate? I am not going to explain it and go through the nitty gritty. But know this, they have the best new machines and there was no one there. Ugh 😑, they have a tracker that records your STATs 📊📈📉. Yes, I am not going to lie 🤥. I am considering it. Yesterday, I am searching for training packages. Like when I signed up for a membership, I chose a plan that had 150 $LT bucks at you could use it towards many services. There were many options. Aaron discussed with me what they have at that time and I chose 60 Day Challenge. The program is actually great because it gives you so many tools 🧰🔧 to improving your body, how you feel about it, how you nourish it and how you care for it. My sister and her BFF use them for PT, no it’s not physical therapy 🏋🏼‍♀️ . I wondered 💭 if there is a package that’s not like 1,000 bucks to have like a month of physical training. It’s not pricey 💲 💲💲💲💲💲but knowing me, I want a great deal 🏷. I am poor. I am a graduate 🎓 student and really, who has unlimited money 💵. I remember telling my client’s late wife how I like getting things cheaper because you are left with more money 💰 in your pocket. But Vie, right now, has none. How confident and can you stand up knowing you don’t have a lot of money at your disposal. How comfy can you be? What makes you able to withstand teeming luxury. I won’t give you the answer. You have to discover that for yourself. Little? Like in term of what, you have a woman’s part? Vie, you are as sexist as you are plucky. How about I can be a peacock 🦚. I was showing some nerves this day and I actually embraced it. Vie is so unsure 😐 in her footing. I like it. How do you behave in a room full of testoerone. Like a girl without a doubt. Like a total loser 🤓. Like someone who is out of place. Grow up. I know, I am still adulting. I couldn’t find my fave arm machine. It was the one where I do my shoulders, the muscles behind my shoulder blades and my chest. I had to go in the big machines for big boys. My friend Maricar goes there to work out. I am not intimidate probably because I have been a gym goer for as long as I have been in college 📚 ✍🏾. I told you about the story of how I showed up in the Notre Dame rec center to work out. The hours are limited and the student body is largely student athletes 🎽. I refused to participate because I want to complete my degree 📜 . Well, not exactly. Yet, I was on the treadmill and this guy was just staring 😳at me like she has never seen a girl step on that machine before. Yes, the nuns are very very strict. I played it smart in the bench and I have a plan on how to build my back stronger. I started on 7.5 lbs instead of 10 and I want to stay on it for a few weeks 🗓 until I can grab a heavier iron. Thank God, I had a book 📚 so I don’t stare into space. My gawd, nerd wimp on the floor. Can I like kick your butt? What like mind jujitsu? No, I’ll put a bullseye 🎯 on your groin. Feisty.

My stretching 🙆🏼‍♀️ time is long and I feel that I have to figure out a way to fine-tune it or perhaps I am doing it so mindfully that my counts are way not on a New York 🌇 minute. It has to be improved. I hung out downstairs. I wasn’t hungry 😋 and I spend time on the phone 📱 sort of not berating but telling off flex your muscles on my undelivered Zella’s 👖 . I don’t think UPS 🚚 can be so incompetent. I did stuff on my phone 📲 after. I went upstairs. Oh, I must be in a funny 😆 mood. I for some reason have the silliest things to say. I said bye to Katie earlier as I left the floor after stretching and she was vacuuming and she’s really a great worker. I had to go back and say it, “You know what you remind me of? Ghost 👻 busters.

I feel that I have that I have exhausted myself out talking. I can feel it in my brains 🧠. To say how my day went plainly, I did 30 minutes on the paddle bike 🚲 and wanted to follow it up with 60 minute Metcon. I felt I need fuel ⛽️. I went downstairs to eat. I went up I did some time in the treadmill only to find out that my Mom was 1 minute away.

1.- If you could date one anime characters who would it be?

These type of questions always make me think that i love things differently from other people... or something? lol because i never get a crush on the characters i like... i know this isn’t mean to be a serious question and all that, you know but kahjdkhasjdg i won’t date anyone lmao i prefer being by myself even if it gets a bit lonely sometimes

2.- What was your first anime?

Definitely dragon ball, i have many many memories from it from my childhood, my mom still doesn’t like it haha my brother on the other hand loves snk and levi is his favorite, he also watches some other animes from time to time

3.- Fictional character or real people?

Fictional character, i have been there and loved real people (as in idols etc) and it’s draining and tiring and not something i would like to do ever again lol

4.- What’s one of your dreams?

Writing a book, i have had this dream since i was a child and i actually wrote a so called book when i was like 13 haha but it’s a mess so i have it hidden somewhere in my room, i also used to get praises here and there when i wrote poems, etc for school. Tbh idk if i will ever be able to accomplish it because the career i’m majoring in, in college has nothing to do with this type of thing so yeah but maybe some day as for now i still write fics in my free time

5.- Favorite books of all time?

I wish i read more buuuut i will just mention the one i’ve been reading recently which is ‘everyday’ by david levithan, i have yet to finish it, but i love the way it’s written and some of the things the author writes about in the book hit close home for me, i have some favorite quotes as well and i just love the book jasgdjhsagd gotta finish it before this year ends

6.- What’s your dream country to live in?

I like my country but maybe spain, places i would like to visit tho: korea and japan also any other countries in south america because all i know is my own country and i’m curious lol

why... the shiganshina trio because the bonds of friendship between the three of them are lovely, as for the acwnr trio... it makes my heart ache and i can’t watch/read it w/o crying lmao

relife... i have no idea if you have watched it but i am one of those adults (ugh yeah i’m an adult lol) who feels like their life isn’t going in the direction they want it to go and i really love the idea that the author of this manga (which was adapted into the anime last year) offers, it deals with important topics such as: depression, suicide, being unemployed/not being successful at the expected age by society... the consequences it has in your life and stuff like that? i just think i would like to live inside that universe because the characters are really really kind towards each other and they help each other out and there’s the particular relationship between the protagonist named Arata and Yoake which is the person who helps Arata to ‘relife’ his life haha (spoilers maybe if you end up deciding to look this one up) anyway this relationship esp is my favorite, i just LOVE how they support each other

I’m not much of the kind of person who gets enthusiastic over voice actors or any other type of famous person in the industry tbh... not even the authors of the mangas itself because i don’t like getting invested into people but rather i fell in love w/ the characters they create more than anything else so i don’t really have a favorite seiyuu

22.- How would you like Snk to end: everyone dies, a bitter sweet ending, a happy one or an open ending?

Victoria you sure love making these kind of painful questions lol jk but i haven’t really thought about it, being realistic there’s no way there’s gonna be a happy ending at least not a “wholesome” one i think? I would really hate it if everyone died at the end though... at least one of these persons who sacrificed their lives has to live to see a new beginning, or new something start... i don’t care who although my bias would love for it to be eren and all the kids (and the vets) but just someone, you know? As for an open ending it depends... like what if it ends right before eren is about to die... or on some really ambiguous scene? tbh i would like to feel satisfied with the ending more than anything else be it a happy/sad or open one just something that ties everything up nicely... that’s my humble opinion

Some thoughts. Sure, it all looks shady af but until I see pics of them holding hands or kissing I’m going to believe the “just friends”. Notice how she’s always shown up to where he is? Italy, France, & now Spain. He didn’t travel to Europe to see her when she was filming. She could just be one of those types of clingy women who might be sad/desperate/lonely after the end of a 10 year relationship, 40 years old, seeking something from someone - ANYONE! I think a lot of women can relate to that feeling of “I want someone to love me” after a break up and make dumb choices. Anyone who has ever been to a Con or seen Norman meet fans on the street, the guy has infinite patience so maybe he’s just being nice to a friend and she’s a little hopeful. Or maybe I’m totally wrong. Lol. Just remember, at this time there is absolutely ZERO actual proof they cheated.

An Interview with the Authors of 'DICTIONNAIRE INFERNAL' (And Download It For Free Here)

DICTIONNAIRE INFERNAL is a co-authored with Chris McCreary and Mark Lamoureux and was originally published by Empty Set Press on Halloween 2017. With the close of Empty Set earlier this, we have partnered up with ESP and are offering the chapbook as a free ebook. You can read a poem from the chapbook here, an interview with the authors below, and download the collection here and below.

Did you write this collection to any kind of music?

Mark: This is a hard question to answer, because I listen to music more or less constantly and I listen pretty widely (Bill Corbett once told me I have "big ears"). Looking at the poems in Dictionnaire Infernal I see references to Skinny Puppy, Big Black and the theme song for The Karate Kid Part II by Peter Cetera, but that was probably Chris. I'm sure I was listening to a lot of other stuff, too, but it's impossible to say what.

Chris: In general, I write while listening to instrumental music. The band Earth is probably my favorite for this. That said, this chapbook does have a sestina, “Abraxas,” that is in part a riff on lyrics from the band Baroness, who we both admire. (After the chapbook was published, I sent a message to the band’s singer asking if he would want a copy, but I never heard anything back from him. This might be for the best - it would be mortifying if he read the poem and didn’t like it.)

Describe your favorite meal.

Mark: There's the socially responsible answer to this question and the honest one.

The socially responsible one is good moules frites and a bottle of burgundy. Red wine with seafood because I’m a madman who lives on the edge.

The honest answer is a cheeseburger that they serve at a dairy restaurant where I grew up called Shady Glen where they fry a specific type of American cheese on the fry table so that it gets sort of brown and curled and bubbly, paired with a vanilla milkshake. Said restaurant was more or less the inspiration for my chapbook 29 Cheeseburgers. It’s definitely Americana kitsch where the servers all wear these anachronistic uniforms and these little paper hats.

Chris: Jenn McCreary makes great vegetarian chili. If I could cap off that meal with coffee and a salted chocolate chip cookie or three, all would be right in the world for a moment.

Choose three books that you've always identified with?

Chris: I’ve always felt an affinity for Tolkien’s hobbits, who mostly want to avoid trouble and stay at home with a book and a good snack. Maybe The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings count as two of the three books? I think The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was probably formative for me as well, particularly in terms of its fatalistic dark humor.

Mark: I’ve definitely always identified with Satan in Paradise Lost--he is actually an ethical person who has no choice but to fractiously rebel against his creator because that’s how he was made. He feels bad about leading the fallen angels into a conflict they are destined to lose, but he doesn’t know how to do anything else. Like Chris, I was weaned on fantasy and science fiction books--the first book I ever took out of the school library of my own accord was Ursula le Guin’s A Wizard of Earthsea because I liked the cover. I felt an affinity to the main character, the wizard Ged, who winds up in a conflict with his own shadow, which he liberated in a ritual he was not supposed to be doing. The shadow winds up killing his beloved pet otak, which spoke to me at the time because my parents had just gotten divorced and my mother bought me a jet-black rabbit at the state fair that I named Obsidian that was eaten by a coyote about a week later.

Before I read “serious” books, the first books I read were comic books and I was obsessed with the X-Men, particularly the character Nightcrawler, who was the most freakish of the already freakish team. There is a graphic novel called God Loves, Man Kills in which a televangelist tries to exorcise Nightcrawler, which I found particularly moving. I have a drawing of Nightcrawler’s signature “BAMF” onomatopoeia that appears when he teleports done by his late creator David Cockrum for me at a comic book convention when I was 12 or so that is one of my prized possessions.

What do you imagine the apocalypse is like? How would you want to die?

Chris: In middle school, I thought a lot about nuclear war and assumed that we’d all die in a fireball at any moment. (There was a period of several months where I didn’t want to be in a room without a radio or TV playing because I wanted to be able to hear the warning broadcasts as soon as they started.) Now I imagine the apocalypse as slow moving, a game of inches where basic resources like clean water are hoarded by the wealthy. As for how I’d want to die… I hope I’m at peace with friends and loved ones, no matter the circumstances.

Mark: Under the Baron Trump administration, faculty at Trump National Stable Geniuses University College must, in addition to their yearly self-evaluations, submit paperwork detailing how they are employing The Art of the Deal Parts 47-72 in their curriculum to Make America Great Again Again Again in order to justify their annual rations of Trump Sausage and potable water. I will forget about the deadline and be summarily executed the last semester before I retire at age 108.

If you could only watch three films for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Chris: The Empire Strikes Back, The Fellowship of The Ring, and Heathers.

Mark: Labyrinth, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. (It was really difficult to just pick three).

Where do you find inspiration lately?

Chris: The second season of the show Fleabag is one of the best things that I’ve seen in ages.

Mark: I have been writing poems to Bill Evans compositions lately, as well as finishing up a project where I “write” poems to episodes of the old Leonard Nimoy paranormal TV docuseries In Search Of. I have done almost all of the hundreds of episodes, so I will need to find something else pretty soon.

Where did you write most of your book?

Chris: The poems in Dictionnaire Infernal are part of five years’ worth of poems that Mark and I have written together. Each April (aka National Poetry Month), we’ve written a poem a day and posted it to a blog. At the point when we were writing this particular series, one of us would choose a picture of a demon and riff on it, then the other person would finish the poem from there. I would often write my half of the poem first thing in the morning before homeroom at the high school where I teach or maybe later in the day while proctoring a study hall.

Mark: Likewise, definitely written either at home or at my office at Housatonic Community College.

What was something surprised you recently?

Chris: This summer, we went to the shore for the first time in a few years. Our kids, who are now 16 years old (they’re fraternal twins), just got up and… went to the beach with a friend, aka without us. It was a jolt to realize that, Oh, right, they’re at an age where we don’t have to watch them in the water the whole time and scold them if they swim out too far. Although of course we ended up doing some of that, too. If I turned this anecdote into a piece of creative nonfiction, I’d begin to work some sort of metaphor here.

Mark: At the risk of sounding cliché, as Chris mentions, parenting is pretty much a continuous stream of surprises. To be honest, I was pretty ambivalent about becoming a parent, but ultimately I find it to be the best thing in the world. Even at 2, my daughter is my best friend and we continue to discover surprising things about the world. I find it really easy to adopt the perspective of a small child and to see the world in that way, which is a nice panacea to the way I usually see the world.

What do you carry with you at all times?

Mark: Major depression and my iPod. Yeah, I still have an iPod.

Chris: Journal, iPhone, a 20-sided die, and an asthma inhaler.

Tell us a bit about your writing process. What works and what doesn't? What doesn't, but you keep trying it anyway?

Chris: Left to my own devices, I’m a fairly slow, fussy writer who builds from scraps and takes a long time to shape those fragments into whole poems. I’ve tried to push myself to approach the process differently, often through the use of source texts, but the idea of a larger “project” tends to fall flat each time, and I end up writing more lyric poems with Duran Duran references in them. Collaborating with Mark over the years has freed me from my own obsessiveness - with those poems, I work quickly and don’t look back. Sometimes, though, there is still some Duran Duran.

Mark: I guess I am an ideal counterpoint to Chris because I tend to work quickly and improvisationally. I identify with Jack Spicer’s adage that writing is dictation--it’s like capturing a mere segment of a steady flow of words. Most of the “writing” occurs in revision and making things more (or less, depending) lucid and readable to other people, although I don’t necessarily concern myself with this too much. It helps to have something to focus on, so I do a lot of what might be called ekphrastic writing, though the pieces themselves are rarely that ekphrastic. Oftentimes I wind up with pieces titled for the source of the inspiration or improvisation that have little or nothing to do with the source content. I liken this to the jazz tradition of improvising upon standards.

When I try to write something specifically “about” something starting from scratch, it usually fails pretty miserably. Lately, though, I have been able to write more narrative things stemming from my quotidian life, which is definitely something I’ve had trouble doing in the past.

What are some of your daily rituals or routines?

Chris: I’m trying to get better at establishing healthy routines. I want to meditate more regularly, for instance, but I have a tough time really establishing it as a daily practice. A lot of my established ritual is based around preparation and consumption of coffee, ideally La Colombe’s Corsica blend with Silk soy milk and raw sugar.

Mark: Routines are literally impossible for me - despite even my conscious intentions I will subconsciously sabotage anything that smacks of routine to my unconscious brain, which is troublesome when one is caring for a routine-oriented toddler. I do my best to adhere to her strictly ritualized schedule nevertheless. The only part of my day that is really sacrosanct is reading non-work related stuff, sometimes for even just five minutes due to exhaustion, before I go to sleep.

What was the hardest part about writing this book?

Chris: The most difficult aspect for me was the self-imposed deadline of finishing a poem every day, but it was also liberating. Mark and I have now completed five Aprils worth of poems - 150 of them! - without missing a day.

Mark: With these and some of the other ekphrastic projects Chris and I have done for NaPoWriMo, it is challenging to write something that isn’t merely a description or a riff on the song or image that we are writing to or about.

Define happiness for you.

Chris: Taking an unnecessarily long nap with my cat Frida.

Mark: Hanging out at the beach with my daughter.

FUCK. Ruthie is a snake and told me nothing. She told me Toph but then votes out Ray. She lied to me so she's going next tribal.

I mean, the person I was hoping would go, got booted sense I wasn't that big of a fan of him after Will telling us he was rude. So that's a Ray of sunshine on my life. Toph misplacing the idol is funny now I just wanna know who gave it to him.

Well that tribal was... interesting... So first of all, Toph asked the entire tribe to help him find the idol. Then he exposes Nayeli for having it (which she admits to our Icons alliance). So Emily and I are like, Toph, WYD??? At this point, we wouldn't be sad if he left. This kid blowing up our games. So Toph goes to tribal and I'm fully expecting him to be voted out. And he pulls out an idol. And I was like, Oh... Nayeli gave it to him. Nice. BUT THEN we find out its the Espirito Idol. What???? Who on that tribe would make such a bold move? So anyway, Toph is safe bc of the idol, and Ray goes home. Which isn't a big loss, but it leaves both Ashley and Ricky in the game. Hopefully we can win this challenge I won't have to worry about them for another round. Speaking of the challenge, its the damn tasks challenge, and I AM NOT HERE FOR THIS. I feel like after this challenge, we are gonna swap, which.... ugly... but its gonna happen. I do not want Salao to go into a swap down by two. So I'm HOPING and PRAYING we can pull this challenge out. Here goes nothing.

I'm safe but I honestly don't know if that's good or bad at this point. These people are seriously ugly. The game is just annoying and I really don't know if I want to be here. This isn't what I signed up for

This is the first game I've played since I had a literal breakdown (unrelated to orgs) and walked from three games and it does NOT have to be this stressful it is too early for this. Sooooooo a bunch of drama went down and I'm not 100% sure what happened despite having read the chat. (It was going so fast that it was hard to keep everything straight) so where did Toph get that idol? I'll still stand by Toph's side even after the drama, but I might just keep him at arms length a bit so I don't harm any of my relations with anyone on Espirito. Also this challenge? Holy fucking hell is this challenge exhausting! I need to win this challenge because if I don't my huge ass target on my back will send me home. That or my big ass cracked ego will. Fuck im more cracked then a broke vase on the ground. But i feel like death. The idol was wasted and i want to die.

Last tribal was crazy! Not only did Toph use the Espirito idol, but it was a misplay as they all voted out Ray. Ruthie told me they were going Toph so that;s why the idol was played. Now everyone knows Toph was given the Espiito idol. Not only that, but the group came up with a plan to frame Ricky, but then someone to Ricky that Toph was throwing him under the bus. So then, Toph and Ricky popping off on each other as Ricky and Toph pull out receipts (fake or not). I'm sitting here, in the alliance call, freaking out as everything is going to shit. Toph has a huge target on his back and everyone in Espirito is coming for each other. We (Amanda G, Bryce, and I) need to throw this challenge as if we send Salao to tribal, they will most definitely send Toph home. However, I do not want to go to tribal because I have a feeling people are blaming me for giving Toph the idol which is only half true. I don't know what is going to happen in tribal at all. I do plan on throwing, but that will be easy since Amanda Lynn and Francie are being comp beasts in this challenge. I'm shook that Ricky would even call out Toph in front of everyone. That was insane! Everything is crumbling, the game is a mess, and everyone is cracked. People who will call out others like that are dangerous to me, so hopefully I can rally the votes against him for tribal, but it seems unlikely. What is likely is to vote out Ashley or Ruthie which to me is the best plan. However, Will the Snake might flip on us and vote out one of our own: me. Ricky did tell me he sees me as the leader of the tribe so I guess I'm a target for people on the outs like Ashley. I have no idea where I stand with Ruthie, but either way I do not like it.

So we are like 13 hours deep into this tasks challenge, and Toph has literally stayed up all night, and I only slept like 5 hours and we've been going non-stop. According to Host Ali, Salao is like 400 points ahead of Espirito, which is great for us. I'm just.... REALLY hoping the hosts don't do something evil and offer an advantage for all our points.. Like I'm even afraid to type this in a confessional because I don't want the hosts to suddenly come up the idea because I will honestly cry if someone does that. Especially if it's someone like Michael or Gwen who haven't done anything besides lose us points. Ali also hasn't done anything but he's nice so I won't knock him for it. Ugh... I SNUCK AN EGG INTO MY ROOM. So for the challenge, one of the tasks was to smash an egg on your head. SO I go to the kitchen to get a drink. My mom is cooking with my aunt. I stare at the egg in the fridge for a solid 30 seconds and my mom says to me if something is wrong. I say no, get my drink, and grab the egg. Scurrying to my room, I pass my sister who is making slime and I hide the egg successfully by holding it to my side. I go to the room, take the video, and wash my hair in the sink without any of them noticing. I am an icon!

Amanda Lynn, I love you my sweetie but I think you are playing way to hard, theres no way I'm going against Michael to vote off Nayeli, so please don't try that but I am happy people like me and trust me and I'm getting tea from every where so I think I'm playing a pretty good social game, so lets see how this turns out!

With the lead Salão has, it's not worth it for anyone on our tribe to mutiny for an edge in the challenge. In the context of just this challenge, it's more beneficial to Espirito members to do so. If you mutiny from either tribe, it's going to screw up your relationships with those on your former tribe which could hurt you if you make merge. No way I'm mutinying.

My whole NFPs alliance wanted me to switch but I knew I shouldn't because I couldn't break the bonds I have with Amanda Lynn, Ali T, and Francie. I was also roped into an all girls alliance with Abbey, Amanda Lynn, and Francie now that Abbey has mutinied!! This is super great for my game. I'm also so happy Toph mutinied. This is so good for his game and he has a majority on that tribe to keep him safe for a little bit longer. I'm happy! Though I'm very emo I'm not on the tribe with all of my NFP friends. But it's okay! We're all in good positions and I can get information (should I choose to share it) for my core alliance. I'm so excited about this but it was truly messy and I'm scared a little but IT'S OKAY?????

egg Update: My dad saw the egg stains on my face and proceeded to ask me what they were. So I had to lie and say I had no idea. I washed t off my face and continued on my merry way. Also this mutiny worked in my favor. I'm so happy. Toph is on our tribe and Amanda/Abbey gone, that is 8 people in the tribe. Now me, Amanda, Bryce, and Toph are one side having majority. So, Toph switched. This is amazing! With Abbey and Ashley also switching, that point NFPs in the half majority of 8 (4 people). The plan is to take out Will come tribal. The alliance will vote out Will, and then he will be gone. To do that we either need one more vote or the votes to be spread among the other 4. Mo wants Ricky out from what he's told me. We are thinking of claiming Will of targeting Ricky/Ruthie. Then they will go vote him out too. Or I can get Ricky to vote out Mo and Mo to vote out Ricky, giving us the majority. Everything is going to plan Mo told me that I was one of the power players along with Amandas (both), Will, and Bryce. I'm so shook by that. With that, he may betray me, but for now I trust him. A little late but my alliance now is doing good with majority on our tribe. The suggestion to even get out Will is so baffling and tried to put a stop to that ASAP. We really need to start winning challenges and I need to try taking advantage of One World more and get in with Nayeli/Michael since she has the idol.
