I think you might be enfp (although its hard to tell online since u might be diff irl as i know my personality is diff lol) E-extroverted N-intuitive F-feeling P-perceiving Bassically you like talking to people (and gain energy from it), maybe a lil impulsive /notneg, generally energetic. People that are percieving are usually more flexible and adaptive, although they also tend to be less organized and more 'scattered' (not all but most). You might be an enfp-t (turbulent) but i'm not sure since that might be my bias (I'm intp-t) ((although i usually doubt everything lol)) idk tell me if it's accurate and about yourself so i can also get it better /nf

I feel like you care a lot about others, and frens. You are very nice! You also like sharing things, like songs :D you also like rambling about things, but feel a bit bad afterwards because you think you overshared. But that is not necessary, your rambles are always interesting to read! You also said you are a bit anxious.

You like psychology, not the 'how to manipulate someone', but the 'peoples disabilities'. (I could read too much into this now) but I feel like you are studying/ researching these topics in order to help those people, because you don't like watching others suffer from something they aren't deserving/ controlling. But when they deserve it, you don't know any mercy (this sounds so harsh I'm sorry but idk how to rephrase that TwT) and aren't scared of openly talking about wanting to 'ruin' them. (not negative, completely understandable). You even go so far to talk about murder. (maybe it was just a moment where you felt like that, and you can just ignore that part if you usually don't think stuff like that)

When you have a mutual, you care about them and their interests, you even ask about them and their creations! (Thank you so sooo much for the ask about thing btw) and you make them happy with that. You also have this up and down with emotions (but could also have been the period. ((when I'm on my period I cry over the stupidest things ;-;))

you are also very reassuring and give a lot if feedback, that's nice :) the tone indicators also show exactly how you mean something and leave no room for sad thoughts, like „what if they meant it like that and not this".

Last year to this year...so much changed for me as a fan.. knowing about jkk was soo much fun and I used to be so excited for them whenever any new content released n giggled with my frnd (also a fan). Since January, I started noticing the negativity/hypocrisy of this fd on JM specifically. Slowly the jkk honeymoon phase ended for me. I believe JM ost + the bills controversy was final nail in the coffin which made me into JM fan more than BTS and jkk was off the topic as of now! Seeing your post I felt like yes I am like I got to know about them enough there's nothing much to talk or even the content I had seen (muster sozowoo dvd) didn't helped either, I didn't felt like awww so cute both of them..! Rather it was ohhh so cuteee jimin and that's it! But I say I don't hate other members it's just that I like JM more now..also I don't understand this solo stan word taken as negatively! We r into BTS doesn't mean we will be staning 7of them and keeping updated on all of them?? I agree they are people like this but not everyone can do the same? I think solo stan means staning one member without hating anyone! That could be better and I do believe even the ot7s have their faves in the group! I think everyone gives their own meaning to these kind of words. Solos, OT7, akgae, etc, it's all an invention of the fandoms. So fandoms decide what they mean. Even being an army doesn't mean the same to everyone. I see a lot of people saying they're army but they don't know everything about BTS or are keeping up with their content 24/7.

Even jikookers have the one they like the most, at least a lot of them do. I've seen jikookers talk privately about being "softer" for one, or how it's easier for them to talk about JK or Jimin, even if they love both, they love them in different ways. For different reasons. Different intensity. Most people say they're shy and introverted so they relate to Jungkook so much (which is funny anyways because Jungkook is not shy or introverted lmfao), and that allows them to feel more "connected" to him and "understand" him better than they get Jimin, so they talk more about him and stuff like that, things that very clearly show when a person has a bias.

I've always liked Jimin more than any other member and it's not something I've ever hid. I've always liked him better because I've always agreed with his point of views and actions, and I think the way he goes about life is beautiful and inspiring. I think the way he treats the people he loves should be imitated and I don't think I've ever been disappointed in him when it comes to what he does as an artist. Just to list some stuff. And yet, I don't think I've ever considered myself a "Jimin solo". I didn't even think or cared that much about him having a solo career until the hiatus, when it actually became a reality. With the exception of 2021 and 2022, I've always been fine with his position in the group. As for his personal relationships, the only one I used to care about was jikook. I don't really care about it anymore and that's it. Except for some sadness and bitterness about the fact that I felt almost forced to let go of jikook, not much of fan experience has changed.

Back in like 2017 it was so common for people to even do bias sorters, which was like a little poll where you had to choose between two members and in the end you'd a chart with your results from who you liked the most to the least. And it wasn't controversial at all! It was actually one of the first things people asked you about when you joined the fandom. "Hey, show me your bias sorter results."

For some reason the novelty of it wore off and I haven't seen people talk about bias sorter since like 2019 lol. I think the fandom became more paranoid about people having a clear bias because they could become "solos". Someone once even told Jimmy Fallon that he had to love all seven ijbol. I don't know why they do that. It was a grown ass woman, at that. Please. Even mothers love each of their children in different ways like???

Yeah totally, everyone should be allowed to focus on/support only one or two or three members, and most people will actually do that even if they don't admit it.

Hey! first of all i wanted to say so so sorry for taking forever to answer this, this has been the craziest month for me, just non stop haha! I haven't done circus in a long time, I did pole dancing classes for a bit last year but stopped after getting too busy, I live super close to my old circus now so i'm considering restarting classes next year! Why the charictarization of Remus Lupin matter so much to me?

A character study of Remus Lupin

Disclaimer: I think every interpretation of every character is valid and should not be torn down (further discussed in this post). The following is a discussion of how I interpret a character, and things that I (me, specifically) don't like to see when I read fic, or even in fanart in many cases, and why.

(Just a friendly reminder that if you don't like someone's interpretation of a character, you can click off the fic, or block their account. It's OK to create a happy space for yourself.)

I'll begin with the reason I decided to make this post.

I've noticed a lot in my many years of being a marauders fan that there is a generally accepted interpretation of Remus, and the way certain people in the Fandom feel about it is that this is the only acceptable interpretation.

Based on my own observations, "Fanon Remus" is:

Negative/pessimistic.

Rough around the edges.

More confident in himself.

Borderline mean to anyone who he isn't friends with.

Usually smokes (cigarettes, weed, or both) and drinks.

Perpetually sad and tragic.

Tends to come off as disinterested in everything.

Fully accepting of being a werewolf and feels there is no separation between himself and his werewolf form.

(To be fair, this list is based on how I view this interpretation of Remus so it's likely bias.)

This interpretation of Remus has seen an increase in popularity with the re-emergence of the popular fanfic All the Young Dudes by MsKingBean89.

Here's the thing - I don't take issue with this version of Remus existing, it's definitely not to my taste (and we'll get into that more later) but it's a valid interpretation of his character.

Where I take issue with this is attitudes surrounding it, and people in the Fandom trying to make me feels as though this is the canon/only interpretation of Remus there can be.

I've been on multiple platforms where fellow Wolfstar/Marauders fans have stated that they hate seeing Remus depicted as:

Shy/timid.

Not as confident in himself and his abilities.

Thankful for his friends for the simple act of being his friends.

Overall softer (both in appearance and personality).

Being kind to most people he meets.

Being physically smaller than the other boys.

Referring to his werewolf state as something that is separate from him.

These people have argued that their interpretation is back by Canon, and writing Remus any other way is out of character - but the truth is that we know very little about Canon Remus (or any of the other Marauders or characters from that era.)

However both interpretations (or rather these two generalized interpretations, as I believe everyone sees every character a little differently) address aspects of what we know about him:

He's a werewolf and he has a complicated relationship with that aspect of himself. You can either interpret it as an internal conflict where he doesn't want people to be hurt by the part of himself that he can't control, or as an external conflict where he sees himself as a threat all the time, because there isn't a definitive line where "Remus" ends and "The Wolf" starts.

When we meet him in Prisoner of Azkaban, he is a warm and inviting, if a bit unorthodox, teacher. We also later learn he was a part of a group of friends who were notorious for playing pranks. Some interpret his unorthodox teaching style and his occasional sassy-ness (seen in flashbacks and in the present plot of the books) as an indication that he was always on board with the pranks - sometimes the mastermind behind some of them - and also that he was a bit rude or mean to anyone who he wasn't friends with. Others interpret his warm and caring personality to be at the core of who he is, and that his friends taught him to be a little mischievous, sarcastic and sassy.

As I've stated several times now, both are valid interpretations. One is no more rooted in Canon than the other. (I tend not to rely on Canon too much regardless, but that another topic for another post.)

But I think the real core of my problem with "Fanon Remus" comes back to a topic that I spend a LOT of time thinking about. So much time, in fact, that I have original stories and fanworks in the works that address this very issue:

The importance placed on the "dominant" or Type A personality.

(For clarity - Type A personality means someone who is achiement-oriented, ambitious, constantly working towards success, while the Type B personality is the more passive, flexible, easy going personality. )

We tend to see dominant, Type A personalities glorified in our society. We like go-getters, leaders. We glorify CEOs, activists, people who lead change.

We see the more submissive, Type B personalities as weak, passive, lacking the strength needed to succeed in this world.

But being passive, submissive, Type B, doesn't make someone weak. You can passively support causes you believe in. All leaders need followers.

I am more of that Type B, submissive, follower personality, and I identify and look up to characters and people who are like me, and are still strong.

I like to see - and want to see - characters who are more passive, less sure of themselves, but they are still strong and do what's right.

Which is why, while valid, I just can't interpret "Fanon Remus" as MY Remus. I can't relate to "Fanon Remus" and that interpretation of him doesn't serve the purpose I need in the kinds of stories I like to write.

And I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way, about a lot of characters.

They way I see Remus, is like this:

He is shy, he's one of those introverts that gets found by his extrovert friends and has no idea how to make friends outside of that.

He is focused on academics - in the Hogwarts world I see this as a way to prove to himself that he deserves to be here. To James and Sirius, their studies (magic or otherwise, depending on the AU) come naturally to them, but Remus works hard for his grades. (In this way he is a Type A personality, but he's not that dominant personality type.)

He loves his friends and unknowingly starts to mimic and adopt some of their traits the longer they are friends, which is how he becomes more sarcastic and mischievous.

He is kind, to the point of being overly apologetic.

He's one of those students that during parent-teacher conferences the teachers say he's "so quiet" and "a joy to have in class".

He's pessimistic in a "if I don't get my hopes up I won't be disappointed" kind of way. He wants to be optimistic but can't really visualize the things he wants as something that could be true. He feels like his wants are silly wishes. However, he's not pessimistic in the way that "nothing good will ever happen to me."

He's open to things turning out a little differently than he had planned.

He's supportive and wise. He gives good advice to his friends.

He has bad self-esteem issues, often falling into negative thoughts along the lines of "nobody actually likes me" "nobody can stand to be around me" "everyone wishes I wasn't here"

Loves doing big, thrilling activities, but needs his time to have quiet, introspective, and calming activities.

A true introvert, while he loves spending time with people, his social energy drains when he's around others, and recharges when he is alone.

So the moral of this post is meant to be - every character in every fandom is going to have lots of different interpretations, and is going to be even more different from person to person. We all see things differently. They may look wildly different from your interpretation, or even from Canon, but that doesn't make them less valid, and they don't deserve to be told that they're wrong.

There is now correct way to see a character - there are only ways that you disagree with.

When you compare the positives of Ghouls to the rest of the guilds you can see the clear bias and combined with actually being in the friend group at the time means you can easily read deeper into the commentary.

Honestly, I don't understand what some GA supporters, Gillovny haters and David haters, which I believe are mixed groups, against David and a friendship, albeit at a distance and occasionally with Gillian. At SM, the haters draw him as if he were the same arrogant actor who was portrayed in the 90s, who didn't have a friendly off-screen relationship with Gillian (hello, they are both very introverted and worked 17 hours together. How much could they handle this work overload? (to be continued..)

 Are these followers afraid that GA is getting involved with a "rapist/misogynist", just because his have a relationship with a 27-years-old girl? Why did David write about incest is his last book? Why did he say that he wouldn't like to with Gillian on anything but The X Files? Why was he openly a sex addict? And this arguments being based entirely on facts and gossip from 15/20 /25 years ago?

People draw David as if he were a maniac who can attack Gillian at any time, and that she doesn't know his true nature, so he has a relationship. It's amazing how people make assumptions based on the past things and don't even bother to keep up with what they're doing today. And even worse: they think they can govern your personal lives. I saw it from Gillovnys in the past, and now i see it in these groups.

I read these anons earlier and spent some time thinking about your remarks and the larger implications of certain accusations and DD/GA’s relationship. This response way longer than I intended, but like I said, I spend some time thinking about your comments. And when I say it’s long, I mean it’s long.

Anti’s alleged issues with DD is a combination of things: misogyny, sexism, homophobia, pedophilia, and being friends with an alleged sex trafficker.

David has said some homophobic, misogynistic, and sexist remarks. It’s one of those things that, although a handful of people knew better, his views were “normal” back then. This isn’t to excuse David, but rather, provide context. Because there’s problematic shit and beliefs from 10 and even 5 years ago. The question I ask myself is: has David unpacked these beliefs? Is he learning and growing?

The fact that they have to dig into shit from the 90s to find shit on him says A LOT. Maybe he’s learned to keep those views to himself OR maybe he realized that some of his beliefs were fucked up and left them in the past. I’m not saying that no one can’t be upset about what he said or even dislike him now because of it. However, I don’t think people who genuinely dislike him are sending hate anons to people because they like him.

I really don’t like talking about the pedophilia and him “knowing” he’s friends with a sex trafficker accusations because, even when accusations are proven to be false, someone will believe there's truth to them. It taints a person and that's generally speaking. The reason I’m addressing them now and with you is because I want to be transparent about what’s going on with Antis and my issues with them. I don’t want to be accused of bias or protecting DD because I’m “hiding” the truth.

This man in Hollywood accused David of being sexually inappropriate with a minor who later became his wife. Apparently, this happened in David’s trailer during the original run of the X-Files and was well known on set. This revelation occurred during the Me Too era, like when accusations were hot and took just about everyone accused of impropriety down. For reference, Harvey Weinstein, a powerful producer with more money and influence, was taken down. Louis CK, well respected before his victims came out. Pre Me Too: Bill Cosby. Aziz Ansari. Hell, even some of the faces of the movement were taken down.

So, this Hollywood dude claimed on twitter that David was touching on a minor while at work and EVERYONE on set knew, but somehow this story never caught on. Virtually no media outlets picked this up. And this accusation is worse than the Aziz accusation and he was torn to shreds as his career took a hit. But David can be accused of this horrendous thing and no one reacts to it??? Apparently, he must have better lawyers than Harvey, Louis, etc because the rumors never even took flight. AND, I believe the thread is still up too. Not even crazed right wingers or pizza gate fanatics were interested in this story. However, since David is involved with a significantly younger woman this means that that rumor is true. 

The thing is: there’s implications to this accusation that the antis didn’t think of and they got mad at me and others about it.

They said that Gillian hated David, didn't talk to him, and ignored him as much as she could because she knew about all of this. So, I asked, “If she knew David was a predator, why did she keep working with him? If you argue it was due to contract reasons, why did she work with him on IWTB and Seasons 10 and 11? Why didn’t she report him?”

Me and others were accused of holding women accountable for mens’ actions. But that still doesn’t answer the question, right? If Gillian hated David because he’s a predator, why did she still work with him? Her “hate” was supposed to be “proof” that he was morally corrupt. Since Gillian “hated” David, we’re supposed to hate David.

Another layer: David’s friends with a guy who allegedly is a sex trafficker, which to Antis mean that David knows and is okay with this. They’re friends, how could he not know???

This is important to note because they switch between Gillian knowing David is a “predator” and not knowing depending on the argument. So, when they swore up and down that she hated him, Gillian “knew.” Now that Gillian and David confirmed they are friends in some capacity, “just because she’s friends with him doesn’t mean she knows everything about him.”

Interesting, right?

They used examples of Harvey Weinstein and Ted Bundy to prove how someone can hide despicable acts after swearing up and down Gillian KNEW, which is why they weren’t friends. And, if you’re thinking...well what about David’s friend who allegedly is a sex trafficker, wouldn’t the same logic apply to him?

BINGO.

There are a million excuses and justifications when you apply their logic to Gillian, but they never give David the benefit of the doubt. They never critically examine any information they’re given if it paints David in a bad light. Then they put their heads in the sand if this info implicates Gillian. And the sad part is that I can go on a longer rant tearing their accusations apart.

There isn’t any consistency from Antis. I’d respect them if they’d dropped Gillian because she’s friends with the “predator” they hate. But no, their stance and justification changes so she's always in a good light.

You see how low they're willing to stoop to justify their hate. They aren’t content with disliking David, they need others to hate him too. They're too invested to admit they were wrong because then they’d have to face how foolish they looked hating David on the behalf of Gillian who doesn’t hate him at all. All that energy and hate for nothing.

Lastly, I genuinely do believe Antis are afraid that David and Gillian may be fucking or, at least, that casual fans will come to that conclusion. Think about it: who reacts like this to two people, who many thought hated each other, essentially announcing they are friends?

Who?

These are two adults with (an) adult kid(s). And they could literally become grandparents at any time. lol. These are two people who have known each other for damn near 30 years and Antis think they know David and Gillian better than they know each other.

But a simple photo got them rattled because they HAVE TO admit Gillian’s friends with David. She inadvertently put them in a corner and the only way out of it is to admit something they mocked others for believing. Their other options would fall into Gillovny thinking: they're fucking or dating.

And that’s what they’re really upset about.

They were left with options that fell into Gillovny thinking and had to choose the lesser of the evils. And they can’t say David and Gillian aren’t friends without looking delusional. Especially when they don’t have their handy dandy convenient excuses of “promo” for the x files or a charity. lol. Especially when they took a personal photo together and posted it online.

And I guess that’s the beauty of the picture: you’re only left with three options. Because, if you take friendship off the table, there is no other way to explain why David was there that doesn’t suggest them being intimately acquainted with each other.

I’ll say this: Antis don’t care about facts if the facts can’t be used as ammunition to shit on someone even if they have to distort it.

Now I know this is long and I’ve discussed things you didn’t intend, but I guess I needed this rant. LOL. Some Gillovnies and David fans may be upset that I discussed those topics, but most of the people on my blog either already heard about this OR have read me discuss it before.

Okay I have many thoughts so let me try and organize them lmao.

So the short and cute things go hand in hand. Now I know the fandom didn’t just decide he’s cute one day. To be completely fair he was typecast as “the small cute one” by the company upon debut. It’s a thing they do to make it easier to get into the group. Some of the stereotypes are super easy to recognize. Seungcheol is the leader and “Dad” of the group, Jeonghan is the mom, Seokmin is a the sunshine member who’s always happy, Soonyoung as the hyper one, Seungkwan is the sassy one, Chan is the maknae on top, and so on. Some of these stuck around but of course ones like Minghao being the “cool cutie” were going to be easily outgrown as the group matured. And they’ve addressed it themselves. Wonwoo saying that he likes getting chances to share his thoughts and feelings. Seungkwan pointing out that because Mingyu is deemed a visual by the company is role is essentially “shut up and look pretty” even though he actually has a lot to say but doesn’t get to talk or speak his mind nearly as much as Seungkwan.

So when new fans in particular see him as cute it doesn’t surprise me. I mean they push it even to these days, using his cutest moments and adding little squeaky sound effects here and there in Going SVT to reinforce that he’s the cute one. It doesn’t surprise me that that’s the first thing people say. Heck the first video my friend every showed me of him was the oppaya aegyo. And I like cute so I ended up looking up more about him lol. 

All of that being said, I think most of us have been in the fandom long enough to know that he is more than that. I do get a bit sad when the only thing people say about him is that he’s cute because he is all the other things you said. I mean I won’t comment on the muscles because they scare me I don’t really care about physical body with my sexuality (nor, I should point out, am I actually attracted to any idol. Like I can say Jihoon is good looking but I’m not sexually attracted to him or any other idol). But he is very smart, and kind, and really loving when he’s close to people. The whole team loves him to bits and he loves them and it really shows. He pours his whole heart and soul into this team and cares about it with everything he has and that’s probably my fav thing about him. So leaving it at “cute” 100% sucks (tho he is far from the only member that suffers from this). 

(I also get sad when people call them all talented and leave it at that without acknowledging hard work but I have a whole other rant on the “talent wall” but like ultimately I think he’s talented but I find the fact that he’s super hard working wayyyyyyy more cool and interesting than just talent.)

I don’t know though if I agree that people overlook him just because he’s short. Now maybe they totally do and I just hang out with the right people who don’t say shit like that, but what I’ve found about biases is that they choose you. You walk in blindly and one or more of them just drag you into their lane lol. I have a handful of tall girl friends and I do know that there can be a level of teasing and insecurity can arise from your height. And I feel like short boys have it just as bad, if not worse with the way people are about masculinity. Buuuuuut I don’t know how much that affects bias? I mean unless your biases are just “this is who I would date/fuck” which is... a really strange concept to me personally tbh. So I like your enthusiasm on the whole thing, though I’m not sure I feel the same about where it all stems from.

As for biases, every fandom has their favs. It’s a sad thing about being a fic writer that if I take a good idea and give it to a less popular member it will get overlooked point blank. Seventeen has it’s most popular, overall the hhu but particularly Wonwoo and Mingyu. I love them, don’t get me wrong, but like more than half the carats I know Wonwoo and/or Mingyu is the top of their bias list. They are both wonderful, but it does mean that when I write things for them it’ll get way more attention than for the others. As for Jihoon, he isn’t the most popular but he isn’t the least popular either. He sits in the middle ground a lot of the time. I wish they were all even and everyone loved them all equally but alas.

I am really glad that in the last couple years they have been breaking out of their roles here and there. Moments like Soonyoung’s Hit the Road episode really stand out to me and just his general insistence that he’s introverted and shy even though a lot of people don’t believe it and think who he is on stage is who he is irl (which, sidenote, I loved that he talked about performance headspace and stuff cuz it’s such a cool thing hehe). I know everyone will always have their favs and it’s all good, I do too even if I wanna even out my writing so they all get equal attention but I hope that them showing us more of themselves allows us to see them all more complexly.

In the end, I love the spirit, but I won’t be condemning anyone lol. Adn let’s not get into the topic of sin. I try to keep that off this blog sakdjlajsldka

Nagiko->Kaoruko (FGO)

Oh boy I hope this doesn’t get too long!

If you sat me down and asked me to draw a line between characters in FGO I’d ship that’d be a very complex complex graph. But if you asked me what ships I shipped specifically that’d be incredibly short. My ships tend to fall into two categories: stuff I could genuinely see off canon and I could make it based on two personalities and designs I used to be in the Touhou fandom. When it comes to Nagiko, KaoNagi is the only ship I could actually see develop for her. (My HC for both of them is something around bi though).

First we’ll discuss actual living-at-the-time Sei Shounagon. As mentioned after Teishi died she dealt with her grief by leaving the court and everything behind before it poisoned her on the inside even more and essentially vanished. She mentioned how there was a time she felt a lot of grudge and hatred towards Michinaga and co. However interesting to note, we see her in Heiankyo after she’s already left court and is currently just living life reminiscing/missing court life. Yet we see her meeting Kintoki who she surely knows as serving under Michinaga and in particular sends us to go meet Murasaki. At this point it’s clear she’s moved on to some extent from any grudges towards the Fujiwara. And then we find out she’s been secretly helping Murasaki in hopes of moving past her writer’s block. Thus from a shipper’s perspective, so full bias, what helped Nagiko looked forward to, once Teishi was no longer around, were the new chapters of Genji. This would provide parallel to Murasaki idolizing and treasuring the Pillow Book especially.

Another key part of the relationship is (obviously) Valentine’s 2020. As everyone else is formed out of the grail as them but not actually characters utilizing servant portraits, which means functionally the only people who know the whole extent of what Nagiko is going through is self insert and Kaoruko. Which opens a new point of Nagiko in Chaldea goes at lengths to present herself as the always kira kira party girl. But as we see in the bond 4 interlude it’s because she wants to be shining for Teishi and she does feel down and can no longer write The Pillow Book. But she wants to write, she doubts she’ll ever pick up the brush again because of how burnt out she feels on the inside.  From her extra section and bond five (and bond CE), she’ll eventually move on and find new shining things to write about in Chaldea and I’d like to explore when she moves on to eventually do that through the lens of Murasaki.

Actually let’s detour to Murasaki, I tend to see her as a gloomy pessimistic introvert. She’s smart but can sometimes overthink things and would definitely be well aware of Nagiko’s writers block and feelings towards Teishi. I think that’d definitely well up some unpleasant feelings within her. Envy because she can’t fulfill the same role that Teishi once filled for Nagiko especially since that role was what made Nagiko write. It’d definitely be the main source of chafing between the two but since Murasaki does know about Teishi, because she’s seen Valentine’s 2020 and loves the Pillow Book a lot I think she’s also the one whose most aware of what Nagiko’s going through.

If the swimsuit and mats release doesn’t change things too much for Nagiko I think that she’ll kind of stay in this not exactly writing limbo. We know from Caesar’s voice line she counts under the writing club group of servants so besides confirmation she’s harassing Andersen and Muraski by existing, she’s still interested in the sphere somewhat. In essence I think she’s already grieved for Teishi as Sei Shounagon but for her future character direction I’d like to see her be allowed to be upset and not feel the need to be always sparkling for Teishi watching from the heavens - especially with the story direction the Lostbelts seem to be going through. And I think that with Kaoruko there to help she’ll eventually be able form a different relationship with Kaoruko compared to what she had to Teishi but still something equally important.

Hmm personal likes and dislikes, I think I could work with that...hopefully.

Eunbi- I guess she’s the leader so anything that applies really because even before they elected a leader her members didn’t really need to vote. So Yena decided to play a prank and make her think Chaeyeon will be the leader. Because they all knew Eunbi was a great leader. Not only is she caring but she also is funny and she could handle embrassment if it means she could make her members brighten up.

Sakura- She’s also classified as Izone’s 3rd mom? She takes care of her members and tidies up for them. One time in Izone Chu the members left to do something and she stayed behind. The girls thought she would go and play on pc bang by herself but she tidied both of the dorms and even made custom shirts for the members which surprised them even more.

Hyewon- She is known to be the expressionless one by almost everybody. But she actually said, also in Izone Chu, that she doesn’t often express her feelings well. When they did secret friends they had a challenge where they had to touch the hearts of their chosen member and it was done by secret. She got Eunbi and in the end it showed a background of her trying her best to act sweet instead of saying words. But sadly Eunbi didn’t notice it. Hyewon is sweet and caring but she doesn’t show it like others would, she mostly wants it to show with her actions because she doesn’t really hate showing her feelings she just doesn’t know how to express it well.

Yena- Her personalities are pretty obvious she is playful, funny, loud, and is the happy virus for Izone. But of course she also shows just how much love she has for Izone. On every Izone Chu they’ve done (which I have watched all 4) they all include her being funny, playful, and teasing her members but there is always a recording of her saying how much she loves and cares for her members. That although she teases them a lot she just wants to make them smile. She mentions constanly during their concerts that she is happy to have a family like Izone and she hopes they can be together forever.

Chaeyeon- 2nd mom? She’s basically Eunbi but she can speak japanese. She cares for her members just as much as Eunbi and she is a very caring member. She does anything she can do to make the J-line feel comfortable. She helps them when they struggle to talk and generally helps then express what they want to feel. Like when she does it with Sakura. The two have been best friends since before they debuted because for Sakura, Chaeyeon is the person that helps her and makes her feel comfortable. And I’m sure all of the members feel that way. Because not only is she hard working and dedicated she also has time to bond with her members and have fun with them as a family. To give you an idea, when Sakura made it in to the debut she didn’t care about her rank, all she cared about was debuting with Chaeyeon.

Chaewon- I guess everybody doesn’t really notice Chaewon because she doesn’t stand out. And I totally disagree with that. She’s great she might not be much to others but for the rest of the people she is amazing. Her singing is great, she dances well, and she’s funny and caring. She’s unique in her own way and she also loves her members like they love her. They might argue a lot but she loves them. In an interview she did the directors asked her what she thought about Izone and her answer was the simplest yet most thoughtful thing I’ve heard, “They’re the best thing that happened to me”

Minju- She is the shy one but she makes her members laugh nonstop. She often gets teased by her members but she does her best to fight back in a funny way that will make her and the others laugh. I guess she doesn’t realize how good she is because she oftens gets worried about being embarassed. But she is perfect she’s inproved so much and her talents are getting recognized not just because of her pretty face. She wants to make her unnies proud and the rest so she tries to work hard for her group. And she is the one in izone to cry the fastest because she easily gets touched and its touching to see how she easily gets affected when the members get serious and caring around her.

Nako- Her personalities are a bit far away from the members since the cameras often show her always being cute and stuff so I still haven’t got to see much of her personality but from what I’ve seen she does her best to be a part of izone. And that she always doesn’t want to be recognized as a cutsy person but more of a foreigner who worked her way through a challenge to get where she is now.

Hitomi- I guess I could say her personality was described in The very first Izone Chu where she took her members to her hometown. She was so nervous about bringing them because she wanted her parents to love the members as much as she loved them so she tried her best to teach them what to say and what to do properly so she could make a good impression. She is generally a quiet girl but she also loves and cares for her unnies very much.

Yuri- well she’s basically considered the baby for her unnies. She loves clinging to them and showing how sweet she is. Often on Enozi cam she’s mentioning how she wants to go with her members to Busan to meet her parents. I know Minju and Hyewon want to go with her, Minju wanting to talk with Yuri’s mom in person and Hyewon because Yuri talked about bringing her along to Busan. And to me that’s the sweetest thing because intruducing your members to you parents is like showing them your second family. And for the members to have spoken with her mom multiple times means her mom really likes them. And like Hitomi I think she wants her second family to know her family.

Yujin- ( I actually found the video where you said Eunbi cried over something Eunbi said and I can send the link if you would like) and her playful attitude was always a given but most people forget she’s still technically a minor. Where keep in mind not only did she achieve her dreams and does what she loves she also often recieves a lot of hate which I don’t get why. Yujin is great she’s funny, cute, pretty, and great at dancing. I don’t see why people hate but I guess that’s just the world. And in the video she said that when they were over seas, Eunbi, for Yujinie’s birthday she got her Tteokbokki which is her fav food and said it was like tasting her mons cooking. And Yujin texted her about an interview she did where Eunbi said she was more introverted than she looks and she gets hurt when critism is shown and she’s timid and that being a leader with so many young members was hard and it might be hard to connect with them but she said she tries so hard to do it anyway. And they joke often so it was hard for her to say thank you so in the video she showed how much she is thankful for their leader which is super sweet.

Wonyoung- The maknae is a little hard to say because people’s attitude change overtime and Wonyoung is still a baby because like Yujin she’s really young so being in this industry is hard. But she shows how much she wants to be there because she works hard. She ignores the bad comments and continues on. It’s a little sad on why a lot of people think she’s not worthy of being the center and even an izone member but she really shows how much she works hard and loves beingg with her unnies. In their first concert she said that her family was there, she apologized for not being around often and promised to be with them more even with her job. And she said that she was doing great with her members and that they’re treating her well. Because its so hard being away from your family at that age and I’m glad the members not only say how much they love Wonyoung but they also share it in their lives and shows. They make it a mission for her to experience the things that what a normal teen would where critism and hate weren’t a thing and they care for the maknae so much even though they constantly tease her. They love her to death and I don’t think anything can beat that.

Hm I hope this somewhat answers what you want. Tho likes and dislikes aren’t much here I hope you enjoy reading this. And some of it might be longer than some but I don’t really have much to work with since all they have is some vlive moments and tvshows since a lot of people brush off izone so here i guess.

The Magnus Archives & MBTI Part 1 -- Jon & Martin

Hello. When I was a depressed 19-year old, I hyperfixated on the Meyers-Briggs personality typing system in an effort to solve all of my interpersonal problems.(1) It didn’t work, but ever since then I have been cursed both with deep, useless knowledge and searing, useless opinions. In the hopes that sharing my terrible burden with others will allow me to one day find the rest I so desire, I would like to introduce you today to what is, as far as I can tell, the first dedicated MBTI typing post in this fandom.(2) 

The hyperfixation ran deep, so I am trying to make this as intelligible as possible. If you so desire it, this is a great general resource for typing. If you have opinions or thoughts, PLEASE share them. Much like a fear avatar slurps up people’s trauma, I am sustained in part by healthy, albeit occasionally heated, debates over MBTI types. You should have seen the time I typed Kanye West on Reddit.(3) 

Jonathan Sims -- INTP  Confidence Level: 90% Certainly (at the very least): IxTx

It is easy and tempting to type Jon Sims as an INTJ. After all, he certainly fits many of the stereotypes: bookish, awkward, out of touch with his feelings and his environment, with a tendency to come off as overly critical. I am not saying that this typing is necessarily wrong, but I do not think that it should be taken for granted.

Jon is clearly an introvert and a thinker (IxTx). It is tempting to type him as an intuitive as well, but I caution against this and suspect that it is an example of intuitive bias. Certainly I do not believe that he has the kinetic knowledge and energy of an ISTP – he hasn’t done a single damn thing in this entire podcast to make me think that he has any higher-level grasp of Extroverted Sensing (Se), the function an ISTP uses most confidently to interact with the outer world – but, if INTJ is in consideration, ISTJ should not be written off.

ISTJs and INTJs use the same auxiliary function, Extroverted Thinking (Te), to interact with their environments. Te is often characterized as being cold, clinical, unfeeling, and pragmatic: essentially, how Jon comes off in the early series, especially S1. The difference between them is their dominant function, or their primary way of existing and processing information. ISTJs are led by Introverted Sensing (Si), which is best conceived of as a “web” (haha) of past experiences and sensory details that a user can access when making decisions. INTJs are led by Introverted Intuition (Ni), which is a largely unconscious and abstract style of pattern-sensing which feeds a user insights about the world around them. For Jon, I think that fair arguments could be made either way for dom Si or dom Ni. Does Jon rely more on what has come before (ISTJ) or what may come next (INTJ) to guide his thinking? It could be either, in my opinion, and it is especially difficult to tell because the Beholding itself is an EXTREMELY Ni domain. As the series progresses, Jon’s choices and behavior are colored so thoroughly by his patron that it is difficult to separate evidence of natural Ni intuition from plain old Beholding intuition.  

So, with this in mind, why have I typed him as an INTP of all things? It all comes down to the INTP’s inferior function, Extroverted Feeling (Fe). Your inferior function is the thing that you use but aren’t very good at – it tends to be what gets you into trouble. Fe is best understood as a natural awareness of other people’s emotions as well as the privileging of group values over individual values, so inferior Fe users tend to be sensitive to other people but not super great at actually interacting with them. It is tempting to type Jon as an IxTJ because he comes off like a high Te user at first, but it’s pretty well-established at this point that he’s projecting that persona due to his insecurities. This, in my opinion, is classic inferior Fe. He knows that there is a broader group expectation for his behavior in his new position, but he is (a) too out of his depth to project it naturally and (b) not savvy enough to find a middle ground so he overcompensates and comes off like an asshole. So many of his interpersonal problems stem from this same issue. He clearly cares deeply about group values, other people, and their opinions of him but he struggles to read social situations well and is then caustic as a defense mechanism.(4) So much of his emotional growth has been about him being softer and kinder, even as he grows more monstrous, and to trust others, especially Martin… that’s an inferior Fe narrative.

Once you’ve nailed INTP as his type because of the inferior Fe, I think that everything else falls into place. INTPs lead with Introverted Thinking (Ti), which is a logic-based, internal system of categorization, and they interact with the external world through Extroverted Intuition (Ne), which is a creative, abstract, “idea machine” approach to environmental analysis. In essence, INTPs are logical, systems thinkers (Ti) who basically try out new ideas by throwing them at the wall and seeing if they stick (Ne). I think that describes Jon far more accurately than the IxTJ approach, which tends to be far more reserved and calculated.

Martin Blackwood -- ISFJ Confidence Level: 70% Certainly (at the very least): IxFx

I have found Martin to be a particularly challenging character to type. After a great deal of thinking, and some helpful input from @twinliches, I have gone with ISFJ. 

Martin is an introvert whose primary mode of interaction with the external world is through Extroverted Feeling (Fe). He cares primarily about the group and is sensitive to its dynamic, he has a good read on other people’s emotions, and he is able to easily maneuver through interpersonal situations to his own benefit and the benefit of those he cares about. But what is this Fe working conjunction with? As a prominent Fe user and an introvert, Martin’s only two options are to have dominant Introverted Sensing (Si), which would make him an ISFJ, or dominant Introverted Intuition (Ni), which would make him an INFJ. So, does Martin rely on a “web” (badumtssh) of past experiences to connect with others (Si), or is he using a more unconscious, forward-thinking intuition to do so (Ni)?

It is extremely tempting to type Martin as an INFJ, but, honestly, I think that do so is an example of intuitive bias. His actual choices – how he moves through the world and comes to conclusions, the way that he relates to others, the things that he fears – strike me far more as dominant Si than dominant Ni. Although he may not always broadcast it, Martin is shrewd and observant when it comes to interpersonal relations, and his grounded, real-world knowledge of how people are acting, how similar situations have played out in the past, and what details others are missing is what allows him to so consistently outmaneuver the big bads. A Ni user may come to similar conclusions, but they just don’t get there in the same way. Martin is also invested in maintaining social harmony by providing a sense of stability, which is a classic ISFJ move. INFJs are more likely to promote social harmony by using their Ni insights and Fe people skills to actively influence group dynamics for what they believe is the better. Martin doesn’t really ever do that – instead, he works to make sure that everyone is taken care of, whether that means bringing them tea, dragging them out to lunch or for drinks, or sacrificing himself to the Lonely so Peter leaves Jon alone.

I anticipate that one potential criticism of my Martin typing will be in regard to the inferior function. ISFJs and INFJs have different inferior functions: ISFJs have inferior Extroverted Intuition (Ne), which means they can struggle with open-endedness and have a tendency to catastrophize, and INFJs have inferior Extroverted Sensing (Se), which means they struggle with being in touch with their physical environment and can overindulge in sensory activities. People with inferior Se often have difficult relationships with their physical forms, and Martin’s canon and fanon body image issues certainly fit the bill. But inferior Se users are not the only ones who struggle with their bodies, and, overall, I don’t think the INFJ’s broader function stacking fits Martin as well as ISFJ does. Plus, I think there is just as much, if not more, evidence for manifestations of inferior Ne from Martin.

To wrap it all up, here is my final Martin take: Martin is an ISFJ who, if he knows anything about the MBTI, thinks that he is an INFJ. He was probably accurately typed on whatever popular test he took, but he read some anti-Sensor bullshit that included a hackneyed portrayal of Si, thought “I’m not boring and conservative… I can’t actually be an ISFJ! I must be an INFJ.” For a time, he even has “INFJ” in his Twitter bio. Sometimes he wonders if he’s mistyped because he doesn’t totally relate to the stray descriptions of Ni-Se that he comes across… but he figures that, if he is, he’s probably actually an INFP. He really likes their whole aesthetic… artsy, sensitive, caring, intuitive, and his favorite poets are INFPs. What he’s really vibing with here is their Si-Ne, which he can relate to… because as an ISFJ, he also uses those same functions! If post-series Martin is alive (and living happily with his husband, Jonathan Blackwood-Sims, of course), I bet that his increased self-knowledge and confidence will allow him to solidly write “ISFJ” in that online bio. I want that for him. And for all of you ISFJs out there, too!

On a personal note, I also really love ISFJ Martin/INTP Jon in the context of the ship. ISFJs and INTPs use the same functions, just in a different order! They can connect by sharing their Ti and Si thoughts and insights. Jon can help Martin develop his Ne, and Martin can (and already has!!) help Jon develop his poor inferior Fe by giving him an example of a much stronger, far healthier one. It is just *chef’s kiss*

what is this?

story behind your handle?

❁ the meaning of ‘anntidote’ is a mix of my pseudonym and a play off of the word, ‘antidote’, which is defined as a medicine.

❁ as most of the work i write is mature and/or explicit, this blog acts as a ‘cure’ for these thoughts.

how did you start writing ff?

❁ i started writing fan fiction in 2014. i was apart of a minecraft fandom, and wrote fan fiction for certain YouTubers in that friend group. then, i switched fandoms, in writing for an australian pop-punk band. afterwards, leading to where i am now- which is writing for: international kpop sensation sunshine rainbow traditional transfer usb hub shrimp, BTS. i grew up on anime due to my older brother. hq is no exception to this creative outlet, and i couldn’t be happier.

❁ just because i started writing in 2014 doesn’t mean i wasn’t an avid fan of other things. in no particular order: i liked o2l, had a swift phase, made rubber band bracelets, and loved musicals (still do).

how did you start liking bts?

❁ the prior group i liked (no hate towards the group, as i still love their music) lacked fan involvement and fresh frequent content. it’d been over a year since they’d put out something new, and i needed something else to listen to. i knew my friends were really into k-pop, so i thought- fuck it- why not? i approached them and they gave me recommendations based off of my music taste (heavy hip-hop, pop, and alternative rock). i listened to the music without prejudice and found myself enjoying it. i remember listening to the cypher series, save me, and simply being amazed.

how did you start liking haikyuu!! ?

my best friends and others in my friend group kept nudging me to watch. it took awhile but i eventually gave in, especially since i liked knb a lot. i’m truly glad i gave it a chance, as i kind of fell for tsukki the minute i saw him— he took none of the freak duo’s bs. and it was history from there.

how did you know your bias was rm?

❁ summer of 2017, lying on my couch and scrolling through YouTube, i spotted jimin’s ‘serendipity’ mv had just dropped. although i had been already listening to bts for a couple weeks before that, ly:her (DNA era) would be my first comeback. i fell in love with serendipity’s lyricism and looked into who wrote it. i fell in love with namjoon- right then and there. (note: this was when namjoon was still called ‘rap monster’ and everyday, i thank him for realizing that that name would not age well, and consequently changing it.)

❁ i always tell to new armys, “you don’t choose your bias. your bias chooses you.” although that sounds insanely cliche and stupid- i find it to be true. upon hearing namjoon’s voice for the first time, i did a double take. he knocked me out of my seat and didn’t need to apologize. there’s so much i could gush in adoration toward that man, but let’s move on.

besides writing, what are your hobbies?

❁ i major in audio technology and am enrolled in a mixing and mastering course. i aspire to work in the music industry, and i write songs in my free time. as i’m training to be a mixing engineer/producer, writing songs leads me to writing other ideas- which is one of the reasons why i’m here! c: i’ve also been singing my entire life- which may or may not attribute to the fire. being an army has only reinforced my dreams and expectations ten fold.

❁ when i’m not burying myself in work, i’m either cooking, catching up on my shows, or sleeping. there’s no in between.

- cooking is therapeutic for me. (wrapping meat dumplings, frying chicken or potatoes, or emulsifying pasta sauce.)

- other than bts variety shows, i watch a lot of anime. i love sports (haikyuu & kuroko no basket, etc), classics (sailor moon, fairy tale, fruits basket, dbz, naruto, etc.), and others. i love romance, comedy, and competition.

how do you get inspiration?

❁ by doing nothing. and i know this sounds stupid, but it’s the truth- whether you like it or not. namjoon also partakes in this stupidity (he’s said this in an interview). i could be avidly searching everywhere for what i need to write next, or i could kick back, relax, and let the thoughts come and go as they please. i simply try to enjoy the tasks i do on the daily, and notice the small things that lead me on to creative trains of thought. (ie: seeing a plane fly overhead, and thinking of seatbelts.) “i do nothing for twelve hours... but when i get to the studio, my mind clicks.”

❁ i love salty chips. specifically, spicy ones. hot cheetos are glorified in this household. due to covid, i haven’t been able to have them- and i swear, i’m hitting withdrawals. (takis, sweet & spicy doritos, hot cheetos, kettle cooked potato chips, etc.)

❁ my favorite color is red. it used to be pink, because i wanted to spite people on the color’s duality. but this was the color of one of the boy’s i liked- so i changed it. even though i got over the boy, i still liked the color because of how empowered it made me feel.

❁ i’m introverted. very much so. it’s kind of crippling... my out of pocket posts may lead you to think otherwise, but no. trust me. i just seem extroverted at times because i get really passionate about what i do. (my MBTI is ISFP-T.)

❁ i don’t like coffee. perhaps i’m too young, but when i write, i love drinking hot chocolate- even in the summer.

❁ i’d fallen in love with music before i stanned bts. i’ve always participated in music and have been captivated by how singers tell stories without borders. bts empowers change and reinforces the voice of youth, that has been shunned so many times. i’m so happy to support their cause.

I just haven’t been getting the enthusiasm off of him, and that’s really important to me when it comes to being interested in my subjects. Oh but my PE coach this sem is a bitch - one time I forgot to wear the shirt color she demands us to follow and she ignored me for the entire period. Quickest way to make me feel shitty. So yeah. Probably her.

Do you like to read books/magazines/newspapers? I like books only if they’re non-fiction. I...don’t really read magazines anymore, and I kinda have to check into newspapers from time to time because I take up journalism.

Are you family-oriented? Towards my girlfriend’s family, yeah. I don’t really care about being family-oriented for my own.

Have you ever been friends with someone in the past out of sympathy? Yeah, this girl named MJ in Grade 7. She was a new-ish student then and no one was approaching her, so Gab and I tried to befriend her for a time. Didn’t really pan out that well - we just didn’t mesh - so we stopped talking not long after.

Do/did you ever get nervous around people you are/were crushing on? I still do.

Are you happy with the way society/the world in general is? I’m typically pessimistic when it comes to people, so no not really. Do you ever question your own religion/beliefs? I did, as early as when I was 10. Do you prefer today's trends/styles, or ones from the past? Both have awesome stuff, there’s no need to pick. I’m really into the mom jeans of the 90s, but I also like the yellow trend that’s been going on recently.

Being too cold or too hot? I’d rather be shivering but be comforted with a thick blanket, than sweat bullets and have absolutely no way to cool myself down.

Uploading music to your iPod, or buying CDs? Depends. I used to buy the CDs of my favorite artists then just download the other music I’m not as passionate about.

Fruits or vegitables? VEGETABLESSSSSSSSSSSS. I hate fruits.

Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate, for the most part. Vanilla tastes like nothing to me. Baseball or football? I don’t watch either and I probably won’t enjoy either either lmao, but I have a bias towards football because my girlfriend’s sisters play the sport. So far my worst day was when I wasn’t accepted into my school paper in high school and I spent like 18 hours crying my eyes out. I liked writing and was accepted for my portfolio, but people thought I was too shy to fit the group’s dynamic and ended up getting booted. There are quiet writers too, assholes.

I’d make it look spacier by moving the bed to the wall so there’s a lot of free space in the middle. I’d also add a desk, work chair, and a lamp so I can study there. Fe from an Fi-dom’s perspective

This may be kind of a ramble, but I just had some thoughts about how to understand the differences between an Fe-user and an Fi-user, and I had an epiphany I thought I’d share with people.

Some context: I’m an INFP, and for the longest time my understanding of Fe-users boiled down to ‘what even’. It took me a while to realize I had something of a cognitive bias - I’ve met one too many unhealthy ESFJs in my life that I began attaching negative connotations to Fe (thank you tert-Si). My mother, comparatively, is a rather healthy ESFJ, but with our differing dominant functions, we were gonna have those inevitable conflicts and misunderstandings. Ironically I never had problems with my non-dom-Fe friends - an INTP, an ENTP, countless ISFJs. But nevertheless, I, an Fi-dom, for the longest time, held many negative perceptions of Fe-users. You know the ones: “Fe is manipulative, Fe cares more about harmony, Fe don’t hold strong opinions” yada yada.

But after mulling over things more, and trying to verbalize how exactly my Fi even works, I realized again the golden rule of MBTI: it’s not about what you do, but WHY you do it. And with that, I began to understand more and more that Feelers aren’t as different from each other as we might think! So let’s lay the groundwork.

First, let’s get this out of the way:

We all have emotions. All of us.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a user of Fe or Fi, Feeler or Thinker, emotions are part of the human experience. 

Most people WANT to make other people happy, hate seeing people suffer, and want justice to be done.

Your MBTI type doesn’t determine this - to have emotions is to be human.

Of course, for Feelers, this is a 24/7 process, thinking about the emotional needs of others and self, thinking about what’s right or wrong with the world. Not that Thinkers don’t, or find it less important, but Feelers make this process their whole life.

And this is where Fe-users and Fi-users are more alike than we think. What’s the common description of Fi-users? We value sincerity. We value being true to ourselves. We follow a personal standard. Yeah, no we don’t. The descriptions are true, but that’s not the end. We don’t just follow our standards - we craft them. Agonize over them. When we know how something makes us feel, all we got are questions. Is this right, is this wrong? Am I feeling the right way? Is this  the right way to feel about things? If not, what can we do? What can we do to make ourselves right? It’s that inferior-Te man. Much like Ti-users and their internal logical framework of the world, Fi-users make an internal framework of right and wrong, befitting of the world we see and the emotions we feel. We can be hard on ourselves if we don’t think we are following those standards. Conversely, we paradoxically sometimes aren’t hard on other people and their standards (especially if they make the same moral failings as us). Because everyone’s emotions are their own, because they need to come to their own understanding of right and wrong. That’s why we are known for upholding individuality.

Here’s the funny thing though. Fe-users? They do the same. They have a sense of right and wrong too. They care about people too - of seeking justice and making things right. The difference is they don’t observe their own hearts first - they observe other people’s. Are other people in the right way? Do they feel a certain way about things? What makes other people happy, or sad? Are these things right or wrong? Some people think Fe is not opinionated, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If someone else is in pain, they know immediately. They see it, and they will not stand for it. Why? Because they know  almost instinctively what makes people happy, sad, angry, fearful, all of it. And they feel those things too. This is where the “Fe harmonizes with other people’s feelings” description comes in. But it’s not just about harmony, it’s about taking the external standards of right and wrong as your own.

And now, every stereotype we might have of Fe-users makes a little more sense. With this understanding, I can better understand some of the misconceptions of Fe:

Fe-users are superficial?

Gotta admit, this was my biggest roadblock (along with a dash of intuitive bias). You know how some Fi-doms accuse Fe-doms of being ‘fake’? The unhealthy ESFJs I’ve met almost *enjoyed* being fake. Boasting about their achievements in big groups, emotionally blackmailing people, crying to earn sympathy, enjoying affirmation of other people. This must mean they don’t care about what’s really right and wrong; they only care about if they (or everyone else) feel happy, right?

Wrooong. The unhealthy Fe-users, certainly. But the healthy ones? They’re not ‘superficial’ at all - they can acknowledge when hugs and a cry on the shoulder isn’t enough. They understand your pain and struggle is deep. And they want to help you overcome it. That’s how Fe works. They instantly see pain - your  pain - and they act. They aren’t Fi-doms who must mull over their own standards first, see it from their point of view. Fe is about action : making people feel the ‘right’ way, acting on the external world. All the Extroverted functions are like this - and all of them will seem ‘superficial’ to their Introverted counterparts at some point, because they’re about acting, not internalizing. It’s why the Ti gets frustrated at Te wanting results over method, Ni thinking Ne entertains too many ideas, and Si wondering how Se rushes into every experience. The same applies to the feeling functions. But they are not superficial at all, they just try to look outside themselves for the answers ;)

Fe-users aren’t selfish?

Nope, nope nope noooope. They absolutely can be. It’s different from an Fi’s selfishness. Fi says “do it my way, or get out.” Fe says, “if you disagree with me, you’re a bad person, and I’ll shame you into agreeing with me”. Because Fe is an Extroverted function, there is the temptation for them to fixate heavily on an external object. I MUST make THIS person happy. I MUST get everyone to agree on THIS one thing. And if you don’t, well, you’re the problem, not the rest of us. This is also heavily dependent on their perceiving function - are they forcing you to agree to their personal vision (Ni) or their personalized sensory worldview (Si) of good and bad? Compare this to a selfish Fi - I don’t care if you agree with me or not, DO what I  say. Notice the inferior-Te.

Fe-users are manipulative?

Again, the unhealthy ones, certainly. But the healthy ones? Almost every single one I’ve met shuns emotional manipulation and encourages emotional expression. My ISFJ friends are disgusted by abusive boyfriends. My ENTP (!) friend laments about a society where kids don’t have emotional expression. My INTP (!!) friend hates imposing on people; he’s always asking people, “are you  okay with this?” They hate fakeness as much as Fi-doms! Why? Because being fake and selfishly manipulating people is a bad thing. An objectively  bad thing. They care about you, want to make you  happy. Why would they ever want to do something that harms you? Again, the key difference is focus, not behavior. Functions have nothing to do with sincerity or a person’s integrity. Anyone can be selfish and anyone can be selfless. An unhealthy Fi cares only about their feelings, while a healthy Fi considers and respects the feelings of other people. In the same way, an unhealthy Fe wants to make other people feel the way what they  themselves want to, but a healthy Fe wants to make other people feel the way they need  to.

As an aside, on the subject of ISFJs mistyping as xNFPs, I’d like to posit that Fi-Ne can look very much like Fe. What’s Fe about? Connecting to other people’s emotions, instantly feeling what another person feels and why. What’s Ne about? Making instant connections with concepts in the outside world. Fi alone might only know what it feels in itself, but paired with Ne, it can attempt to ‘simulate’ what another person feels. Or at least make a guess as to why.

So there you have it. An incredibly long ramble about Fe-users from someone who doesn’t have Fe. I guess part of me wants to show some appreciation to Fe, as compensation for how many times I’ve misunderstood them :P If there’s one image I can leave behind to summarize everything I’ve written, it’s this: Fe will look at the whole world burning, and be immediately struck by horror. The pain of others is registered immediately. The world is on fire, and they need to do something - now. Fi will look at the whole world burning and not feel a thing - until, and perhaps only until someone they love, someone they care about, or perhaps themselves, is on fire.

(Thankfully I feel like this process happens very early in a healthy Fi’s life. After that happens, they’ll often be championing for world peace side by side an Fe with very little obvious differences! :D)

NCT 127 members: thoughts, aura & vibes

Before starting I might explain what this consists of (obviously!) so everything is clearer. I was thinking about the members in NCT 127 and was wondering, simply, whom I’d truly get along with if I were to exist in the same spacious-temporal dimension; in other words, if I were to be friends with them (we may all have done that at some point, come on.). Anyhow, I wanted to share it here.

So you might understand why I say some things and why I’m feeling this or that way about each member, I might talk a bit about myself. I’m an INFJ, female, “feeling 22″ (sorry, I just cannot get this song out of my head). I’m perceptive, creative and quite confident in my skills. I am the mom friend™️, I like teaching others, helping, and showing the way. I am very sensible, empathetic, though I can be impatient when it comes to certain things. I’m a perfectionist and an idealist, too, which can be troublesome at times. I think INFJ really describes my personality so you might want to read more into that here, because describing oneself is actually something quite hard to do.

I am a new Nctzen, fell in too deep at the end of June 2019, so these feelings and the vibes I am getting from each member might also change or bloom with time. I might get all of this wrong, but in a way, there’s no real ‘wrong way’ to do this, as it is completely personal. It’s also totally self-indulgent, not gonna lie.

I talked about each member in alphabetical order, so it’s totally unrelated to the way I feel about each of them. Let’s get started, if you’re still interested! And as my friends would say (Karo, Holly, I see you)... tea time 🍵! p.s. you might want to do this yourself afterwards, it’s actually quite interesting to really consider it and go in deep!

🌹Doyoung: I feel like Doyoung and I would get along so well, in that casual but intimate way; we know we care for each other and there’s no doubt lingering, even in other’s people mind. And it’s exactly why we can be so casual about it - those who do not see it probably do not pay enough attention, because through the bickering it’s still very clear. We’d probably be the kind that’s together all the time and when we’re not people question it but we tend to shrug it off, even though we’ve been texting and snap-chatting stupid stuff to each other all day long. To me, he’s definitely someone I’d be close to, I know Doyoung is caring and passionate, and that is why we’d also be able to connect well; he’s someone who’d nag me a lot, and whom I’d like to tease back. Catch me brushing the hair out of his eyes and him whining about it. More often than not, though, he would not push my hand away.

🌹Haechan: I have no doubt in mind that he’d be the annoying little brother to me, the one always nudging, making me sigh and roll my eyes an alarming number of times in a single day. I feel like he’s the kind of person I’d be tired of being with for too long, but can’t help caring for anyway... He’s someone I think I’d look after even when I’m tired (of him, or in general haha), or annoyed, or want to be alone. Though, he is the youngest and acts like so, that is why our relation would not be that deep; the gap in both our personalities and maturity being too big. But, I can see he is growing up a lot, at a very fast pace, and he is becoming more responsible, and more aware of others, which I highly appreciate. It also means he is less and less in need to be babied.

🌹Jaehyun: Actually, Jaehyun was my first “bias” in NCT (if I can even call it like that), and the one to actually push me over the edge and make me fall into this fandom; but as weird as it may sound, I actually don’t know how my relation with him would go, were I to be around him. He’s definitely someone attractive, and seems chill and easy to get along with... I think we’d get along well, but I don’t see our relationship being anything special, nor deep at all - good friends who can joke around and enjoy time together, but mainly in a group. For instance, I do not see Jaehyun and I hanging out alone, though we surely would enjoy each other’s company, share good laughs, and consider each other friends. Then again, chemistry between people sometimes cannot be explained or predicted, so who truly knows!

🌹Johnny: Ah, Johnny. I get the biggest ‘big brother’ kind of vibe coming from him. I usually am the one wanting to protect and take care of everyone, and I would definitely like to care for Johnny, but I feel like he wouldn’t let me? And somehow, I actually do not see myself taking care of him the way I do with most of my friends, though I obviously would be a shoulder for him to cry on if he needs me to be. In a way, I have a feeling it would be mainly going one way. He’d be looking after me, but still would tease me to no end, a bit like he does to Mark. He’d be a ‘best friend big bro’, who would joke around but would become seriously overprotective at the slightest sign of discomfort or sadness coming from you. The type who’s like ‘who the hell made you cry I’ll show them some’, even though there’s no one to blame but yourself for your tears. A sweetheart.

🌹Jungwoo: I feel like Jungwoo is a bit the same as Jaehyun, when it comes to that ‘I’m not truly sure how it’d go’ feeling I have. He’s someone very soft and naive, very puppy-like, though sometimes extroverted and pretty awkward. I have known a few people like that in life, and got along with them, but only moderately. Being with them is renewing, because they seem to marvel at the simplest things in life, but my relation with them is never deeper than friendship or acquaintance; most of the time, it’s about hanging out with them in a group of friends, or them being a friend of a friend of a friend. Though, even if the relationship is not deep, I often find myself looking after them and truly caring for them. I definitely won’t be able to stop worrying for this clumsy baby and he’d probably be able to make me smile even when I’m tired and can get closed-off.

🌹Mark: There is something about Mark that makes me adore him, in a protective and prideful kind of way. To me, he has that ‘little brother’ vibe (it might be because he somehow makes me think of my own little brother, who’s 5 years younger?). Though I know it’d obviously be different; and really, no one makes me laugh like Mark. He has that aura that’s just.... young, and free, and each time I hear him rap or each time he just achieves something in general I’m feeling like a proud sister/mom. I love watching him grow and mature, and just cannot stop adoring him; though, as for Johnny, these strong feelings are not romantic, and I do not think they ever could be. Thinking about it now, I have never found myself actually caring in such a family-like way for someone I have never truly met, yet I truly feel like so towards the two of them.

🌹Taeil: Taeil... I do not know why, or how, but to me everything about him screams home and safety. It’s warm and cozy, and it brings me peace. I am pretty introverted and need time to myself, to recharge and just... be on my own, but even when tired and wanting to be alone, I feel like being around a person like him would feel as if I were alone (not in a bad way at all). By that I mean that being in his company is something that never draws energy, that never tires - it’s quiet and warm. I’d surely find myself gravitating towards him, in search of a comfort probably no one else could provide. I am pretty aware of how my eyes always find him first in a crowd, even without meaning to. If I’m honest, I likely would be romantically attracted to Taeil. In any case, he’s someone I’d always truly, fondly care for, protect and side with.

🌹Taeyong: I recognize myself in Taeyong, very much, very often, very deeply. He’s also someone I’d find myself gravitating towards, and no matter the nature of the relationship in the end, I think it truly has potential to become very true and deep. He’s someone with whom I really believe I could form a special connection. I think we’d find ourselves complementing each other and helping each other grow, because no matter how alike we are on some (most) matters, there are things we can learn from the other. I’d be a shoulder to cry on, and a place for him to stay after a long day and for him to be 100% himself. I want to be a shield, a shelter, and if needed, a sword. And I hope he would be that for me, too. On simplest things though, he’d teach me choreography, I’d teach him languages, we’d bake and cook together... all kind of things, really, and especially the things we share a passion for.

🌹Yuta: I think there’s something about Yuta I do not understand, something I cannot grasp, it’s very... fleeting. I am usually good when it comes to understand people, read them. But there’s something controversial about him, I don’t seem to make up my mind about him. I believe he’s someone who would make my mischievous side rise up and I think that together we’d come up with the craziest stuff and end up crying with laughter, or have really deep conversations and reinvent the world, fight for the ones in need with our two little hands; either one or the other, probably no in between. Most of the time though, we might not talk much with each other, or even interact at all? Unless there is something that would trigger the moments when we seem to... click. Maybe he is more like myself than I’d like to believe and that is why I can’t understand him completely, because he has that paradoxical side of him that makes him both one extreme and the other.

🌹Winwin: There is an undeniable sensibility about Sicheng, something that draws in the people around him. I very likely would not be able to resist it either. I am fascinated by the way he moves, and definitely would love to have him teach me his art (dance). He is someone very transparent (to me, at least), even though the language barrier has often made him look mysterious or simple. Our relation might be a mix of casual and caring, a silent connection based on understanding each other easily, mainly thanks to the sensibility we likely have in common. I think I would, even without meaning to, be aware of him and his state of mind. In the moments he gets too much unrequited attention, no words would be needed for me to understand; I’d take his side in hope to bring him some space and let him breathe.
