Earlier, I walked to a group meeting and on the way I saw a very beautiful snake with dark green and white scales. It was beautiful. It had such gentle eyes, and all it did was perch in the groove of the shelter above my head. It was such a beautiful snake. A few others attending the meeting were screaming and yelling about it.
“Throw something at it!”
“Kill it!”
“It’s going to bite me!”
“Ew, a snake!”
I just stared at them. Dead in the eyes of the one who was threatening to harm it and kill it. They continued fussing and someone threw a stick, and somehow I freaking caught it and smashed it against the ground. Thank god I had a boost of confidence. I told them to leave the poor creature alone. It didn’t even care they existed, and they wanted to hurt the snake? That’s how you get bitten, idiots.
Anyway, they left, and I just watched the snake chill in its spot.
Why can’t the world just see snakes as creatures who deserve the right to exist?
I am an avid snake lover no matter what... even though sometimes i get anxious when im near one. But but buut theres this really pretty snake I love called the boomslang
look at this venomous lil guy that could kill me immediately if it bit me!
I have a coworker who absolutely hates snakes and talks about how she'll kill one or have her uncle shoot one on spot 😒
I get so sad because right before she said that I told her I love snakes deeply. I'm typically not so sensitive but I did tear up a little. Snakes are so near and dear to my heart and I just love animals but especially snakes.
