I love Law but I am sure he cannot keep his mouth shut when talking about Germa and Sanji being a Vinsmoke. And he does not do it out of malice or anything because he truly, genuinely is excited about it in his own way (<- denial being the way) but Sanji hates every second of it whenever their crews meet.
Seeing this situation when Sanuso is established... Makes me think about Usopp seeing Sanji trying desperately to make Law shut up about it but giving up after a while because he just cannot keep having the same conversation over and over again. He just deals with it the same way he has always done. He is not about to tell all of his trauma to this man, thank you very much.
Usopp does not like it. Not even a bit. He spends all the time watching this happen without doing anything and just getting in between their conversation subtly to change the topic and save Sanji from dealing with this, but there is only so much somebody can do about a geek's obsession with his childhood comics.
So maybe this is too self-indulgent, but I really like angry Usopp. I really do want him to protect Sanji when he sees the cook refuses to fight back anymore. And I really want Usopp to drag Law somewhere private and go: "If he says he isn't a Vinsmoke, then he isn't a Vinsmoke. I am a fan of superheroes as much as the next one too, dude, but I swear if you call him by that name again I will not hesitate to fight you and you don't want to have a taste of what I actually can do. If you can't hold yourself back you just don't go near him. If I see his smile drop even once tonight again because of you, you are not setting foot near him ever again. Understood?"
Law is a bit caught off guard because the most unexpected one of the Strawhats is the one threatening him. And he is not scared. He could easily fight him. But it hits him right in his pride and Law just accepts it reluctantly and frustratedly and walks away.
He does not speak to Sanji for the rest of the night. Happy Sanji, happy Usopp, not so very happy Law but he is still learning not to be weird around Sanji so it's okay.

One Piece Men As Fathers
Part two here
Monkey D. Luffy
Tumblr media
Luffy as a father….whooo boy
Is most likely more of a boy dad than a girl dad, but if he does have daughters, he wouldn’t mind at all.
He will fight your children for food. You can’t tell me he wouldn’t. They may be his kids, but it’s also his food.
He will also forget that he even has kids sometimes. It would go something like this: “Luffy, have you seen the baby?” “Eh? What baby?” “Our baby, Luffy! Your son/daughter!” “Oooooooh, that baby! Yeah I left them with Zoro.” “And where’s Zoro?” “Knowing him, he could be anywhere!”
You don’t leave him alone with the baby after that.
Ability to cheer baby up is a solid 8.5/10. With his Devil Fruit, he can stretch his face into the most absurd expressions and the baby will be laughing and happy in no time flat.
Roronoa Zoro
Tumblr media
Just from the way he is with Chopper, you can already tell he’d be a good dad.
He’s definitely very overprotective, no matter what gender your child is, he makes it his life mission to protect them.
Will take regular naps with the baby, and doesn’t mind being woken up by them if they get upset.
Gives them a baby sized sword when they’re old enough to hold it, much to the protests of the more logically minded Straw Hats (i.e. Nami, Jimbe, Robin, Sanji)
However, despite his strong qualities, he is not the worlds most perfect father.
For instance, your kid gets hurt? “Take a swig of this, you’ll forget all about it.” He says, holding out a bottle of sake.
You slap him for that.
Zoro’s ability to cheer baby up varies, I’d say. I’d go with maybe a 6/10
Vinsmoke Sanji
Tumblr media
He is a girl dad. But will not be opposed to boys.
He strives to be both the perfect husband, and father, so you better believe that his kids are getting all the love from their dad.
One of your kids is a picky eater? He will figure out just what they like and make it exactly how they want it. He’ll even let them come into the kitchen with him and show him exactly how they want it.
Will not hesitate to spoil your children rotten. You practically have to reign him in every time he sees something he thinks they would like. And then you have to listen to the “But Y/n-chan! Think of how happy they would be!”
Just say no. He will charm you into bankruptcy if you don’t.
Will plan elaborate tea parties with his child, and will also get you to participate.
Will definitely teach the baby to hate Zoro from an early age, so you know exactly who to blame when your child points at said male and babbles “Marimo!”
Sanji has a proud Papa moment, before you whack him on the head.
Ability to cheer baby up is a 7.5/10. With the way he cooks, no one can stay upset for too long.
God Ussop
Tumblr media
You’d better believe that your kids are getting the best story times ever with Usopp as their dad. He will spin the best stories, do all the voices, and even include his kids in the story.
At lease one of his kids gets his nose. The genetics are too strong.
He’s the best at doing his kids hair. No matter how long it may take, he will sit there and figure it out.
He has taught his children his “fight or flight” way of life, and they secretly judge him for it.
Like Zoro, gives them a baby sized slingshot, and everyone blames him once your child starts shooting at people.
His ability to cheer baby up is 4/10. In a stressful situation, Usopp has been known to blow things out of proportion, so that combined with an upset baby doesn’t really do anything good.

hi here’s a soft zoro thought that has been occupying my mind for a WHILE.
you and the strawhats on a mission attending a ball. you need to get very important documents from the man hosting it, and its your mission to seduce him to make him take you to his study to show you the location of the papers.
robin playing in the orchestra keeping an eye out, luffy and usopp as service staff, nami as a maid, sanji in the kitchen.
you’re disguised as a bachelorette attending the ball, along with zoro, who was put there to protect you.
he looks so different.. he showered and cleaned up so nicely.. hair pushed back with strands framing his face so beautifully. high waisted suit trousers, accompanied by a loose blouse tucked into it with the buttons half buttoned because he claims he “couldn’t breathe properly”. clean and shiny earrings sparkling and reflecting on his face that’s decorated so prettily by his scar. and is that… cologne you can smell on him?
“.. robin helped me pick it out..” he mumbles when he noticed you sniffing. you nod. you both standing right outside the mansion ready to go in.
you find the man you need to get close to, and start talking to him. zoro scoffs, it’s rather strange seeing you like this.. hair done and laid so beautiful, showing your back like this.. in that dress.. and fanning yourself so modestly with that hand fan. this poor guy is really falling for it. who can blame him? that corset really does a number on you, and your tits spilling out like that.. jesus.
but the man gets rather weird, touching you where you’re uncomfortable being touched. not enough for you to say something, but enough for you to understand his intentions. just when you clear your throat to say something you hear a voice interrupt you two.
“may i steal this lady for a dance?”
you blink, completely in awe of how well zoro adjusts himself in this role. is he really bowing in front of you? his eye so.. soft, eyebrows raised as if your answer is not crystal clear. his hand extended for you to put yours in, and you eagerly oblige, bowing slightly to the man and saying goodbye as zoro leads you to the dance floor.
“zoro… us and dancing? we’re gonna blow our cov-“”brook showed me a thing or two… don’t worry”
you sigh, your chest rising with your breath as you try to get some air despite the chest prison sitting so snug on your body. if you wouldn’t have closed your eyes you would see zoro glancing down just to immediately revert his gaze.
“you know.. you didn’t have to come to my rescue, i was fine on my own” you whisper as he rest his hand on your back, a bit shaky and unsure still.
“i’m here to keep you safe, just following orders..” he mumbles.
“well i was getting ready to stomp my heel into his foot if he tried something..”
zoro chuckles, looking back at the man who’s so obviously jealous. he’s glaring holes into zoro’s face, but that doesn’t stop the swordsman from grinning ear to ear. the hand on your back pressing you harder against him as he kept eye contact with the man. he whispers in your ear.
“atta girl.”

Hello hello! I’ve been really enjoying reading your writing and saw that your requests were open! (:
May I request Zoro, Usopp + a character of your choice (even if it’s nobody) with a gn! s/o who has no sense of danger? They just enjoy the excitement of adventure and rush into things with no thought ~
Thank you in advance if you decide to take my request !
Thank you for requesting 💖😚 I love this request fr,been in my draft for few months I'm sorry for that
Tags: not proof read, fluff, reckless behaviors, making up plots as I write
Tumblr media
Zoro & Usopp & Trafalgar law with a gn!s/o with no sense of danger
Tumblr media
Zoro
You're like Luffy but worse because unlike Luffy you're smart and still choose to walk right through the danger of life without a blink of an eye
But lucky for you ! Zoro is built different (kinda himbo ngl) and he will walk through danger with you with no thought too because someone gotta keep you safe while you walk into the most obvious death trap ever
He will always keep an eye on you ,just to make sure you don't get yourself into trouble, but just like Luffy you wander off on your own ,he goes after you (he get lost in his way to find you) and then he find you fighting some marine captain at a bar for some animal crackers
He so chill with you because years of begin with Luffy had made him immune to no sense of danger (he is also like you too so he doesn't mind it much)
He really like your fearless side ,you could get into the wildest most dangerous situation and you would still have your smile ,he admire that about you a lot
"(y/n) nami told us to stay low" Zoro grumble as he carry you under his arm and run from the marine troops running after you two "yeah but he was a dick to the waitress AND tried hitting on me" you defend yourself, Zoro shakes his head "...you got yourself a point but I'm not taking the blame when we reach the ship, you will !" Zoro says as he run down some alleyway to hide from the Marines,he can't help but smile at the fact you still trying to get free to fight the Marines...ah yeah he is a bit more in love with you because he want to do that too but for once he gotta put your safety before his hunger for a good fight...
He will try his best to let you be doing your adventures safely,he is strong and can protect you well but eh if only he wasn't so bad at actually stopping you from doing reckless things
He will agree to anything reckless you want to do because he Is just...he think it's a good idea? Why not fight a whole troop on your own with him? Both of you are capable???? He doesn't see why everyone think that's dangerous
He is your ride or die for real,he would go down with you with anything without a thought usually,he might argue for like one minute then he would give in Because he think you got a valid point
he might be Stern with you sometimes to make sure you don't harm yourself though , putting yourself in harm is his last thing on his list (still on the list tho)
He enjoys your spirit, quality time with you always lead to him learning new things about himself like he could fight five crocodiles to grab you from an untimely death
He is a 10/10 boyfriend, would help you invade a country if you asked enough
Tumblr media
Law
Law sometimes wonder how you both Ended up together, you are the complete opposite from him ,you rush into things ,you are reckless, you don't care for danger
But again you're the reason why he is able to do so many new things ,explore new island and get into some questionable situations
"(y/n)-ya....where were you..and why are you holding a Capybara?" Law asks as he stand on the deck of the Polar Tang, you are standing on the sand as you look at the decked submarine ship "oh yeah, see I went to explore the island with bepo and then I have seen some guy,see the guy called himself the capybara king and he was terrorizing the people of the island, turning them into capybara and I had to fight him and yeah I kinda lost the fight..... and I need your help" you tell him and law rub his temple,so tiredly "we shouldn't care it's not our business,we should leave, get Bepo and let's leave the island" law says sternly and you smiles sheepishly "ahhhh..this is Bepo though,he turned him into a Capybara cuz he took the fall instead of me..."
Law left eye twitch slightly as he grab his sword ".....alright show me where is that bastard ,I will deal with him and then we are leaving and you are grounded for the next month"
You are the reason why he partly have anxiety from new places ,please stop getting into dangerous situation the moment your foot hit an island
He is this close ".." on just starting to put you on those kid leashes before going anywhere, just so you don't wander off somewhere and end up liberating some island by accident
He appreciates your fearlessness yet it make him worry so much about you, please Just stop trying to have some new adventure he know you're a Pirate but You are not immune to injuries
He patch you up after every adventure you end injured from ,he is always glued to you after that ,making sure you don't leave his sight
The crew have a chart for watching (baby sitting) you duty ,they all trying to help law not get grey hair before his thirties by watching over you before you end up somewhere you are not supposed to be
Law still loves you though, your energy is a fresh breath of air in his life even if you always acting so recklessly ,he still adores you
Will try to explore with you sometimes in hope to keep you entertained and safe (you end up finding the one piece I swear)
6.4/10 boyfriend , would stop you from doing a lot of dangerous things ,but sometimes he will watches you do dumb reckless things just to see you come to ask him for help ,it's his favorite routine in a way
Tumblr media
Usopp
Every night ,he pray to god that you stop trying to do these dangerous adventures because you always end up dragging him with you ,bless your heart your idea of fun is like active suicide activities in his eyes
He loves you truly but he can so much play brave in face of death, you are like Luffy (but without the plot armor) and he worry sick for you whenever he sees you wander off to your new adventure whenever you reach a new island ,and so much against his own self preservation..he follows you
"my love... I'm pretty I saw Marines camping nearby" Usopp mumble as he hold your hand, walking with you,you have no care in the world as you walk " oh yeah I know,I already burnt Thier camp, they won't bother us for a while while we gather what we need " Usopp felt his eyes jump from his skull '' YOU DID WHAT?"
" oh damn is that judgement??? Uso! I was keeping us safe, beside I made sure no one was inside ya know,it will be more calm for us to walk!" You explains to him and he sighs deeply, your intentions are pure yet your action was what he could describe,a crackhead level plan "we will have to deal with angry marines when they discover what you did ,they will probably call for backup"
You shake your head with a little mischievous grin " they won't be able to,I took all Thier den den mushi mushi " you tell him as you show him your bag,and it was true it was filled with transport snails different shapes and looks very relaxed as they eat a.. cabbage? Do you keep cabbages in your backbag?
"....alright I guess you...really thought this out" Usopp mumble nervously, failing to see that one of the snails look like it belonged to a certain golden suit admiral...he trust you enough to not be that foolish..but you are unfortunately and he is in love with you..
Always have a mini heart attack because of you, have mercy on his soul he will have a heart condition because of reckless you can be combined with Luffy own recklessness, how did he end up having to be with two reckless people in the same crew???
He tries his best to district you off any dangerous situation,so you don't jump at it ,just like with Luffy ,he would gaslight you into NOT going to the dangerous Island because no we didn't just go pass it please don't tell Luffy about it
You are Chaotic good, which he appreciates you are not doing all that out of idiocy (like Luffy) but sheer curiosity and wanting to explore ,it's cute
He singlehandedly saved you 68836 times by begin the voice of reason for you and you listen to him because you love him
He would save you if you need saving ,he would man up for you just to save you and you would appreciate him and love him-at least that what he thinks he want to do, usually you end up saving him ngl
You and him are the polar opposite yet mash together so well, you still listen to him when things get serious and he still let you go apeshit when he notices you needing to let your energy out
He still adores you anyway, because after you get tired from getting into so much adventures ,you cuddle to him like a little cat and he goes through 7737 stage of happiness while biting his hand to not wake you up
You're so precious to him in general even if he is pretty sure he is getting white hair because of you
10/10 boyfriend ngl , would try to stop you but fails miserably and end up joining you,is good at lying his ass and getting you both out of trouble so good for you ngl

pls talk to me about luffy and usopp.. im so normal about this show
i love talking my silly little thoughts about the silly little characters that consume my brain to anyone who’s willing to listen.
usopp and luffy’s relationship is objectively one of the most fun & interesting to explore between the east blue 5. because first of all, luffy let usopp on the crew because he just liked his company and vibed with him. i mean, unlike the rest of the east blue crew, a sniper wasn’t really a needed role in the way a navigator or a cook were, and he wasn’t a ridiculously strong demon of the east blue like zoro was. when you look at it from that perspective, luffy really didn’t need to bring usopp into the crew, but he did because he saw his bravery and kindness during syrup village. (not to say that luffy didn’t like the others when he met them too, just that they also fulfilled a needed role on the crew unlike usopp did). he’s like the resident personality hire.
while they had got along before luffy saw usopp’s bravery and sacrifice when it came to protecting his village, that was really what made luffy decide that usopp was his sniper. and when you take into account that usopp didn’t really have a favourable reputation in his village, luffy being probably one of first people to see his bravery and kindness (& the first person to support him when he needed it), for me it made me like their relationship over a lot of the other crew’s relationships.
also, usopp’s role on the crew in general has always been kinda interesting (very much pre-water 7 to water 7). he respects luffy & his dream greatly. one of the most memorable early one piece moments for me was usopp’s speech during the mr.4/miss merry christmas fight. like he had his skull cracked open and still stood up to fight because they made fun on luffy’s dream. it’s such a turning point for usopp, especially because before them a lot of his actions were like the bare minimum of protecting his crew and himself, but in that fight he was going out of his way to help vivi and alabasta as a whole & stand up for luffy’s dream. this isn’t really anything unique, but i like that one of his first real character defining moments is driven by luffy in some way.
adding onto that, him and luffy have always had an interesting relationship. like it’s really aparent pre-water 7 but usopp just provides like a normal friendship between boys for luffy (which both usopp & luffy probably hadn’t had before). and i think this is really one of the things that drives water 7, usopp was just there for the fun mostly, he didn’t have that kind of unwavering dedication like the others, and that meant that he didn’t really respect luffy as a captain on the level that the others did and more saw him as a friend & equal. and while that’s good, it eventually led to conflict. (not to blame it all on usopp, luffy was a bad captain & friend to him during water 7 & he shouldn’t have let it escalate that far.) but despite all of that, they can not — will not — continue their journey without one another. we see it especially in water 7, but also usopp’s reaction to marineford & his motivation to fight during dressrosa literally being because he didn’t want luffy to forget him.
it’s something shown again and again that, despite usopp not being as strong or brave as some of the other strawhats, despite their clashes and conflicts, they are not willing to let that get in the way of their relationship because they do not want their dreams without the other there to witness it.
plus their personalities balance each other out in a really fun way. i mean we have usopp who’s lived a pretty sheltered life compared to many of the other strawhats and scared by most things. and then we have luffy who wrestles tigers for fun and doesn’t really recognise the danger of most things. but also they have a lot in common and get along very well. while luffy inspires usopp to follow his dreams and be brave, face the things that scare him and push himself further, usopp also helps reign luffy in from doing a lot of crazy shit, which is much needed. they are shown goofing off, their relationship is built on that kind of mutual understanding and respect that all the strawhats have for each other while also seeming more relaxed which is a welcome break for them. also luffy’s unwavering belief in usopp’s lies (and his complete inability to lie himself) creates a really funny contrast between their personalities. it’s always entertaining to and fun watch them interact and they really bring out the best in each other.
anyway i love them. i am chewing on them like a stimtoy but instead of micro-dosing on plastics i’m micro-dosing on lusopp.

I recently saw someone on YT talking about Zoro's past and while I agree that his flashback feels rushed within the story (which I think can be explained by how early it happens) what always surprises me is how unsettling it is for people. It's a simple but sharp reality in a fantasy world, quite similar to what happens in Usopp's past and perhaps not so common for the rest of the OP world, who have pasts more rooted in the rules of that universe. Kuina died after falling down the stairs. "In OP's world there are people who survive worse things..." they say. "It's absurd. She was trained and very strong." Yeah, sure, but Kuina died like that. Suddenly. Anticlimatically. She was as full of dreams and ambitions, fears and insecurities as everyone else. But she died in an accident. She died too soon. Without a reason. With no one to blame. Simple, cruel and real.
Y'know, I've seen this around a lot. especially in posts (on r/ddit and twt in my case) where people argue about zoro having a "mid" backstory or complain about wanting oda to give him a proper one. and ngl I feel like this pairs up with OP fandom's bad habit of powerscaling everything - even loss, trauma and grief.
Sure, if you compare kuina's death to all the other ones throughout OP it might not seem as "tragic", but this is one of those instances in which context and individual experiences matter most. kuina was just a kid who, despite her strength and training, was led to believe by her own father that her gender would become the reason she'd never achieve her dreams. and when she finally finds someone who believes in her, who sees her as an equal and a goal to strive towards to, who's willing fight against and alongside her - she dies. as you mention: she dies without reason, with no one to blame. that is plenty tragic to me, regardless of all other sad or abhorrent things that happen in the story's universe.
This is just me speculating but I've also wondered if the fact that zoro's relatively well-adjusted despite the hardships and losses he's lived through is part of what makes people downplay both kuina's death and the role it plays in zoro's backstory/motivations. because the thing is - zoro may not carry or express his losses and grief as outwardly as other characters do, but look at how he reacts when the people he loves are in danger and the kind of sacrifices he's willing to make so that they'll be safe. how he's usually always keeping an eye on and watching out for all of them some way or the other. look at how he cries (which iirc he's done on page only three times) when he loses the duel against mihawk.
Zoro, similarly to other straw hats, had his parents die due to pirates or bc of an illness, grew up as an orphan, and the only friend he had died in a manner he couldn't do anything to foresee or prevent as well; the latter of which has impacted his life all the way to adulthood. kuina's memory is one that's at the forefront of what he does, just like his promise to luffy. draw the parallel between this, how fiercely protective he is and how much he hates the idea of dying in circumstances out of his control (I'd argue it even terrifies him a little, judging by his reaction to the reaper in wano) and it's easy to see how much his experiences, and especially kuina's death, have shaped him as a character. just bc he's not crying, having breakdowns or generally brooding about it every time he appears on screen doesn't make his life story less important, sad or tragic than anyone else's. plus, the stability he provides to luffy and the crew is crucial, so he needs less narrative reasons to leave them, not more. zoro not having, for example, a centric rescue arc doesn't make him less of a straw hat member either.

I like reading about Luffy starving because there is something wrong with me and I like to see him suffer because he's my favorite <3
But also because of the sanji angst and sanlu
Like them running out of food while they're still days away from an island so they have to ration food and Luffy needs more food because he has a really high metabolism but he refuses to eat because his crew comes first and how distraught sanji would be as the cook
He'd be begging Luffy to eat because Luffy is literally starving but Luffy would ask if there would be enough for everyone to eat and Sanji would stay quiet and then Luffy would refuse the food (forget about fish for a moment idk what happened to them but they're gone)
Or Luffy getting captured by some pirates and he doesn't get fed for days before his crew find him and sanji having to resist the need to feed him a mountain of meat because chopper says it would be bad for him
And this is very ooc because Luffy doesn't care what anyone says about him but what if suddenly everyone yelling at him for his eating habits gets to him and he decides to just stop
He still does eat but it's usually one or two servings and it's not enough for him because of his really high metabolism and he's starving
And at first everyone was really confused about the sudden change and a little worried but Luffy seemed to be doing fine after a few days and they all accepted it as the new normal and were even encouraging it
Sanji talks about all the free time he has now that he doesn't have to constantly fight off a hungry luffy and Nami is delighted about all the money they can save on food and Usopp is really glad he no longer has to protect his plate during meals like it's the world's most precious treasure
And Luffy sees how much happier his crew is and he can't bring himself to take it away so he bites his tongue and keeps ignoring his body for them
He quickly starts losing strength and starts sleeping the days away barely waking up to eat, chopper gives him a check up but can't figure out what's wrong (idk how doctor stuff works, since he's eating enough for a normal human chopper doesn't think he could be starving)
It gets really bad and chopper is working day and night trying to figure out what's wrong and he's blaming himself for not being a good enough doctor and Luffy knows what's wrong but he doesn't want to upset his crew but they're really upset right now and he doesn't know what to do
Eventually he does come out and say it when chopper decides to ask him if he has any idea of what may be wrong and he starts off with "promise you won't be mad" because I can't imagine Luffy starting that off any other way
So Luffy tells chopper and he is horrified and immediately orders something from sanji and the word spreads quickly and soon everyone knows Luffy was starving himself because of them and they all feel really bad about it
White Luffy is being fed a soup because he became too weak to do it himself everyone is there with him crying and asking why he didn't just eat more of it was killing him and Luffy would say that they were all so happy when he stopped eating as much and he didn't want to take kr all away and it makes everyone feels worse
When he gets better they never complain about his eating habits again and they have a really low tolerance for other people commenting about it either and it becomes well known not to do that unless you have a death wish
It would probably be a slow recovery though
Luffy would still be hesitant to eat more than two plates even if Sanji had been cooking all of his favorites amd je would eventually make a full recovery but I just really want the angst of the strawhats begging their captain to eat, something they hadn't thought they'd ever need to do, and knowing he was hesitating because of them
And imagine how guilty they would all feel about the comments they made and trying to take it back and them seeing how much it really affected him
I got really carried away with that last one and I could definitely keep talking about it but at this point I might as well make it into an actual story

Note
Rory asking about if Usopp got his explosives makes me imagine that this scene is a regular occurrence on the Sunny in this universe.
“Usooooop? Frankyyyyy? We got a package from the Big Top.” “Coming.” Suit up montage, Usopp pulls his goggles down and dons a pair of heavy duty protective gloves. Franky retracts his hair into a buzz cut and cracks his knuckles, brining out his finemotoric hands in the process. They both don masks before handling the package slowly and carefully, the mood of the situation changing into that of a high stakes bomb disposal movie scene. Everyone on board watches the duo nervously. Usopp approaches Franky with the parcel in hand.
“Ready?” “Let’s do this.” “One…. Two…..THREE!”
The package gets unwrapped quickly and both men lean away and avert their eyes from the delivery, like they expect a flame to just suddenly erupt from Usopps hands.
Nothing of the sort happens.
Both men peak back to the package. “All right everyone! All clear! Red just sent us a card and some sake with circus peanuts!! : ^ D” rest of the mugiwara : “WHOOOOO!”
Can never be to sure after Rory sent some mystery powder over, because he wanted Usopps opinion on the strenght of it on jt. The place stank like gunpowder and chili for a week and Sanjis eyelashes still haven’t grown back fully.
Oh I love this, thank you so much.
Gonna state that after a little while the mugiwaras could just... Guess which one of the clown family member is behind the packet.
Some messy hieroglyphs and a ton of adhesive tape? The packet is from Blaze, take the drawing in and give the biohazard food he put in to Luffy.
Straight lines, good handwriting, no cursive? That's Skye and that's probably either 1) a crush letter to Zoro, that's awkward, she'll grow out of this or 2) a long and detailed wishlist of handcrafted gadgets destined Franky because he just can't say no to his crazy niece and she knows it
Elegant calligraphy and a packet that smells like gunpowder? Brace yourself, this one is from Rory!!
Packages from the parents are totally unpredictable, tho. Sometimes bug send them drawing of a gloved hand flipping off and blame the kids, sometimes Red make them huge good old mama packages with gifts for everyone. You'll never know.

Water 7 Arc: Luffy and Usopp (Manga and Anime Comparison) [Part 1]
Spoiler alert: Don't keep reading if you haven't reached Water 7 Arc (Manga Chapter 333 or Anime Episode 236)
I've decided to start with this scene in particular because it shows a lot of changes that are absolutely core in the characters personalities in my opinion.
Please let me know your opinion about it or if you wish to add anything ^^ (and remember to have mercy on my English xD)
There is a lot to unpack, so I will be going page by page and directly comparing it with the Anime. 14 pages of manga compared to Anime.
(Manga reads from right to left, but the Anime screenshots are organized to read from left to right ^^U)
Before starting the comparison, a little reminder of what we are dealing with:
Luffy was informed by Galley-La shipwrights that the Going Merry could not sail anymore, and that he has to change ships. He strongly and emotionally refused to believe it and also refused to leave Merry behind, as it would be like leaving a companion... until Iceberg cuts the conversation short by doubting his capabilities as a Captain, and Luffy takes that comment to heart. (Manga Chapter 328)
On the other side, Usopp has been beaten twice by Franky's men, one while being robbed and another one while trying to recover the money he was robbed. He feels extremely guilty and like he can not face the others.
Luffy and the others found Usopp badly hurt, and broke Franky's Lair to the ground in the rage caused by seeing the poor Usopp hurt.
Luffy ends up deciding that leaving the Merry is the most responsible thing to do to protect the others. Then they all go back home.
Of course everyone is very emotional at this moment when Usopp finally wakes up, but they are trying to lift the spirits:
Tumblr media
Now let's start the comparisons.
Tumblr media
Luffy wants Usopp to not feel responsible for the decision he has to make (because he is not, obviously), and tries to treat the subject with positivity and cheer Usopp up. But it's still Luffy, and he is not the best with words, even if he never has ill intention, and he is also still emotional about it. But he is trying his best to maintain the smile.
Usopp is having probably one of the worst days of his life, and he is waking up to one big fear of him being a reality.
For the first 2 or 3 panels we get this (which already doesn't feel the same):
Tumblr media
Then suddenly, we get the reactions of the others with absolute silence. The problem is... the Anime just chooses which reactions they have, because the Manga sure didn't show them!
Tumblr media
Everyone looks tense or displeased. Specially, Nami looks dissappointed with Luffy's way of treating the subject, and Chopper seems about to start crying.
In my opinion, these reactions of the rest of the crew are completely out of character for this moment. Let's understand that they already talked about the subject and agreed with Luffy, not only because he is the Captain, but also because it's the logical thing to do.
But we are just getting started with this page.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For some reason, they decided to show Usopp making jokes about the subject, and the others just... let him talk and talk. (the reason is filler, I know)
In the Manga, Usopp tries to understand the situation as fast as possible, because it's no joke to him. He understands that something is happening or Luffy wouldn't even think about something like that. He immediately blames himself for the problem, shaking and panicking.
Also, Luffy's expression in the Anime? Why do they make him look angry at Usopp? Why would he look at his panicking dear friend with such a severe and angry look?
Finally we can go to the 2nd page:
Tumblr media
Things start to heat up.
As you can see, all the conversation in the Manga is fast, without them stopping to look "judgingly" at one another. What the rest is doing is trying to calm them down.
Luffy hurries and tries to explain the money has nothing to do with their problem, but is getting frustrated that Usopp is pulling his tongue to say the whole truth or he won't stop blaming himself for it.
Luffy doesn't want to say out loud that Merry can't be repaired (because for him saying something out loud is making it a reality). But he also doesn't want Usopp to feel responsible when he is not, so he has to choose... and he chooses to free Usopp from guilt.
Let's remember Luffy is a very mature guy in many ways, but is also very emotional and empathetic. He feels the pain of the others and his own, and is probably overwhelmed, so he explodes.
Also, we can see how Sanji and Chopper are physically trying to stop them from escalating the situation. Sanji holds Luffy's shoulder, not only stopping him, but also grounding him so he can calm down. Chopper tries to make Usopp sit back and rest.
You can see how they don't think any of them is wrong right now, they just want them to stop fighting and talk calmly.
Now let's look at what the Anime does with this page:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get angry faces of Zoro and Sanji for some reason, when they are clearly not angry, just worried...
Luffy and Usopp's expressions are also way more angry and violent than what they should be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene keeps escalating and none of the others is really getting in the middle...
For some reason, Usopp is disrespecting not only Luffy and his position as Captain verbally and physically, but also Choppers medical advice... completely out of character.
And then we start a really stressful and completely fabricated scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usopp screaming over and over demandingly until he makes Luffy angry enough he explodes... from anger.
Luffy didn't explode from anger in the Manga. He just wanted to end the problem. He is not angry at Usopp at all, he is stressed.
And also, Usopp wouldn't do any of this to Luffy.
And we never saw Sanji and Chopper getting in the middle. Why?
3rd page:
Tumblr media
The problem seems to have stopped. Usopp is shocked by the revelation, but seems to have calmed down.
Luffy had to recognize out loud what he didn't want to say, but he assumes the problem is going to be over. They all do.
We can still see how Sanji was trying to calm Luffy down by contact, but stops when he sees he calmed down. He is very involved in all the interaction, even if he has been silent until now.
Sanji, Nami and Chopper look shaken by how out of hand things had gone for a second (because in the Manga it is fast).
Then Usopp insists.
Zoro doesn't seem pleased that Usopp talks back again.
Going back to the Anime's adaptation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, Luffy looks angry and not desperate to solve the problem they are having. He looks down on Usopp, still in a defensive position.
Actually, none of the expressions are correct. They have all gone from surprised or shaken to just frown.
Was it that difficult to respect their expressions? They fill everything else with random content, but now that they had specific panels with their expressions, they decided to not put them.
Any semblance of closeness between Sanji and Luffy is completely erased.
4th page:
Tumblr media
Usopp starts to be clearly illogical, and he knows it. But it's not out of malice, it's just his insecurities making him talk like this.
Luffy can't understand why he won't let it go now that he has the whole information, and tries to explain the situation again, in case he didn't get it. Again: he is not mad with Usopp, he is stressed.
But Usopp is too affected by everything he experienced in that horrible day to try to be rational, and it's normal and human to do so.
In the Anime:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, the facial expressions are completely exaggerated in the worst way possible, or straight up wrong.
At this point I'm begging the Anime to stop making them look at each other with hate.
5th page:
Tumblr media
They all know he is saying nonsense, and start to notice there's a lot more behind everything he is saying.
Let's remember Merry is a gift to Luffy from Kaya. Also he saw the Klabautermann of the ship and believes Merry has a soul... But not only that. Usopp feels inadequate in the group. He feels like he's not enough for them, and is probably thinking that the ship, with which he shares so much, is receiving the treatment he "deserves" to receive.
The rest of the crew just don't seem to know how to aboard the problem.
In the Anime:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again with the expressions and positions completely wrong.
Luffy and Zoro just look angry.
Sanji has lost his concerned look for a serious one and also gives his back to the whole situation. We can't see Nami's face. Chopper is not attending Usopp as urgently...
6th Page:
Tumblr media
Luffy has sat down and is not discussing this as a friends quarrel anymore, he is starting to act like a Captain. He is not angry, he is firm.
He points out that what Usopp is saying is illogical, in a strong tone. Nami (probably) is surprised by the change of tone of Luffy. Usopp still doesn't want to listen, starting to really disrespect his Captain by giving him his back and ignoring what he says.
Sanji calls Usopp out, with his hands on his hips, clearly showing support for his Captain and disapproval of Usopp's attitude.
This is one of the first times Luffy has to put his foot down as a Captain. He usually doesn't need to. And Usopp is practically disobeying orders.
In the Anime:
Tumblr media
Luffy's expression is completely wrong again. They keep showing him angry, not firm.
Also he is not sitting, which adds to them completely missing the change in Luffy's attitude.
Tumblr media
The composition is also showing a weird tension, in which Usopp looks almost like a victim of a bully.
Sanji calls Usopp even softly for what we are used to hear from him, like he is trying to support him more than scold him.
Tumblr media
And again... Luffy's expression is a complete miss.
Not only does he look like an angry child more than an adult that is discussing something serious, they also changed his nervous sweat for angry veins.
And this are all the images I can put in a post, so this will continue in Part 2 ^^

In My _ Era
When I saw this prompt for Day Three of the OC New Year's Challenge, I did a little reflecting. Emphasis on "little" because it came to me very quickly:
I am definitely in my...
ONE PIECE Era!
Really, I've created three new One Piece OCs within the last four months alone. It's really fitting, because Luna - the very same Luna I talked about in yesterday's entry - was my first ever proper OC - and also my first One Piece Era/hyperfixation, and I revamped her only recently, Inari joined her sometime during my earlier Tumblr days, upon my second One Piece Era/hyperfixation, and with the arrival of the live action, I was firmly hyperfixated once more and in my One Piece Era, and I haven't left it ever since. So, I present to you all five of my current One Piece OCs, listed from left to right by the time of their creation.
Tumblr media
Aether S. Luna, the "guardian angel" of the Straw Hats. Her crystalline shields and large wings have saved the little band of misfits countless times. Having travelled the seas since she can remember, she eventually ends up won by the Foxy Pirates, becoming part of the stakes during their fight against the Straw Hats. Of course, the Straw Hats (mainly Sanji), try their hardest to get her on their crew.
Charlotte Inari, the Straw Hats' lookout and errand girl. The complicated workings of her devil fruits like to toss her around a little, but she's fiercely loyal to her friends. Oh, and she also just so happens to be the daughter of one of the four Emperors of the Sea. Oh well... Surely, that won't cause any trouble.
Akaito Coraline, also known simply as Cora, the Straw Hats' tailor. The only living descendant of a world-famous family of tailors and a childhood friend of Sanji, Cora always carries three things: Her sewing needle, pierced through her ear. A dream to revive her family's legacy, making sure people remember the truth instead of the myths. And a burden on her mind, one that only Sanji seems to know, and neither of them like to share. Also, a crush on both Sanji and Zoro, but she would never admit that, would she?
Felicity, nicknamed Lily, is half human, half fennec fox mink, and honors a great deal of her vulpine ancestry. From being fairly nocturnal to becoming hyperactive (it's the zoomies, according to Usopp), from frequent naps and sleepy phases to a happily wagging, fluffy tail... Though then again, some of her mood swings might also be blamed on her devil fruit, its powers turning her emotions into... something. You never know.
My newest plot bunny, for now simply known as the "Black Widow", who was inspired by my history professor's tangent on the similarities between Ancient Roman patronage and the mafia. She's a spider with an invisible net of connections, her "friends", which include pirates from the old era, warlords, even emperors if you'll believe some sources. The Black Widow generously "adopts" younger, inexperienced or generally weaker pirates, dubbing them her "children" and offering them her protection - in return for some services, of course. Because friendship is a give and take. Some people claim she's incapable of love, some people claim that she's all talk and no game - but fact is that nobody has succeeded in killing her just yet, and her influence on the powers of the world is undeniable. No matter what you need - money, protection, men, weapons, or even a devil fruit - she can get it for you, for the small, small price of your undying loyalty. Those who have broken this vow all found themselves swimming with the fishes one way or another.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄✼▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Taglist: @starcrossedjedis @oneirataxia-girl @daughter-of-melpomene @supermarine-silvally - let me know if you’d like to be added or removed!

People like to believe that yasopp up and left without any warning or talking about it with his wife (like that other show about gay pirates) but how his wife talked about him and how usopp views him he must of left a good impression on both of them. Yasopp most likely spent at least 5 years with his wife and kid before leaving
Okay, I actually agree wholeheartedly. I know it doesn't seem like it with how much I talk shit about Yasopp around here, but I swear I understand why he had to follow his dream and I am very aware that Banchina literally told him to do so. However! However. Even if we do know he loves Usopp and is definitely worried about seeing him because of feeling guilty for what he did (I genuinely felt so bad when he said he wasn't ready to see Usopp. Although two seconds later I literally stared at my screen and said "grow some fucking balls and see your kid". So. Yeah) I still feel some resentment toward him(?
The whole situation is pretty similar to Oden's, if you think about it. Dude wanted to stay with his family in Wano but Toki literally threatened him to go follow his dream first. That's kind of the same thing that happens with Yasopp. I think people see Yasopp as the bad guy mostly because we never see his POV and instead we just see how that affected Usopp and Banchina. Besides, Oden was away for considerably a lot less time. So,,, Not really the same, but the concept is pretty much the same thing.
I don't hate Yasopp. I understand why he left and I'm sure Usopp loves him to death, even if there are bittersweet feelings there. But there are still a lot of things that don't sit right with me? I personally just feel horrible when thinking that he's the main reason Usopp kept lying all the time and if you rewatch Syrup Island now it just hurts more. The fact that he met Luffy and spent time with him, too? It's just, uh, idk, it feels weird. Besides, send a letter or something. Try to call your son, maybe? Perhaps try to have a way of communicating with him before going away for years? I think we can't ignore the fact that one of the reasons why Usopp is so insecure might probably be him. Not to blame him for everything, because of course Usopp has more personality and insecurities that have nothing to do with Yasopp. But you know. It just feels weird.
Now this part is just personal but parents who leave their children make my blood boil with anger and even if I understand why he did it and everything, I will never completely like Yasopp. Not until we see more of him and Usopp, at least.
And also, I still think the crew (leaving what I personally think aside) would not like Yasopp. Especially Sanji, probably. Not because I'm a Sanuso shipper (although it really affects my opinion on this ngl) but because I think Sanji would have a very strong view of what fatherhood is and he refuses to see Usopp getting hurt again. And I think I said this before but Nami and Zoro would not really like Yasopp either, not unless Usopp verbally tells them he's on good terms with his dad.
I just think Usopp and Yasopp's relationship is very complicated. It isn't about Yasopp being a good dad or not (same thing with Uta and Shanks too, honestly. People keep saying that he's a deadbeat when he was just a stupid dad trying to protect his daughter and that decision ended up backfiring). A lot of people have different views on this, and I think we're all right in some way. He loves his son and Usopp loves his dad and they admire each other a lot. But that doesn't fix what's broken, either. I personally am so excited to see them reunite and see how Oda writes it!!!

𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘
A lot had happened in the crew's travels through the desert.
You ran into monstrous lizards, horrible sandstorms, thieving birds, sudden sinkholes, fake rebel armies, a desolate town, said goodbye to Ace, and everything else in between.
But now, you all had finally made it to your true destination: Rainbase.
The current safe haven to the rebel army, Crocodile, and all of Baroque Works.
Luffy and Usopp had run off to go find some water, and Chopper went to the bathroom, so the rest of the crew was sitting in the shade, waiting for the three to return.
海賊狩
"I heard this place was a casino town," you smirked, looking up at Zoro.
"Maybe we could hit up the slot machines before the final battle."
You had taken a nice shady spot next to Zoro, laying your head in his lap as you two conversed t pass the time.
And after a couple minutes of red cheeks and sweating from the man, which you blamed on the heat, he finally started responding in things other than rushed, one word replies.
Zoro smiled, tossing the stick he had been fiddling with in a nearby bush. "Eh, knowing Luffy and Usopp, they're bound to screw something up. I'd start getting ready to run."
You snickered, nodding your head, "Yeah, you're probably right. But we might as well relish this moment of peace while we got it, y'know?"
Suddenly, Zoro paused, and his eyes flickered with a question.
"How's it feel? ...Knowing that you're gonna be the first of the crew to reach your goal?" He asked, closing his eyes and tucking his hands behind his head.
"It feels....accomplishing. After all this time, I'll finally feel complete," you smiled, sticking out your tongue.
"It's almost too good to be true."
Zoro almost let his own smile crack through, before he turned serious again, clearing his throat.
"After you do complete your dream, are you...leaving the crew?" He asked, looking at everything but you.
You smirked, the man's nervous state fueling your confidence, "Why you ask, swordsman? Don't want me to go?"
The poor man blushed profusely. "I was just wondering! You always gotta make everything weird..."
You hummed, calming shutting your eyes and shifting in his lap, getting comfortable.
"Whatever you say, Zoro."
"Run away! Protect the water!" The familiar voice of you captain shouted, him and Usopp running towards the crew lugging barrels of water, a large group of marines not too far behind.
"Looks like the marines are chasing them," Sanji sighed.
"Why are they leading them this way?!" Nami shouted.
"Y'know, just once I'd like to have two minutes of peace," you groaned, standing up and stretching your wings.
"Wouldn't we all," Zoro agreed, standing up as well.
"But Tony hasn't made his way back yet," Vivi chimed.
"Chopper can handle himself. We gotta get moving," you assured, pushing off the ground and flying away, the crew in tow.
海賊狩
The crew had split up once you reached Crocodile's casino, Raindinners, but now Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and you had reconvened on the casino floor, now being chased by Captain Smoker.
'I knew I recognized him from that other town! I just have the worst luck.'
"Hey, Smoker Captain Smoker! Never thought I'd see you again!" You smirked, turning around in mid-air to face him.
"You didn't tell me you were part of the Strawhats!" His eyebrows furrowed.
"You never asked," you shrugged.
"You know this guy?" Zoro asked, cocking a brow.
"I met him back at Loguetown. We talked for a bit," you answered truthfully. "Why ask?"
The swordsman shook his head, "No reason."
"Please step this way! The VIP lounge welcomes you," a man in a suit cheesed, throwing up some flower petals and motioning towards this very ornate door.
"Did he say VIP lounge?" Usopp asked.
"Hold on, do you think this could be a trap?" Nami chimed.
"Don't places like these usually have free drinks for their guests?" Zoro smirked.
"Idiot," you scoffed, smacking him upside the head.
"Not like we have a choice! Run for it!" Luffy shouted, sprinting through the doors.
"What's a Vip, anyways?!"
As the five of you ran down the hall, you began to approach a sign that said VIPs left and Pirates right.
"Which way do we go?" Nami asked, frantically.
"VIPs! Go VIPs!" You quickly answered.
"Nuh uh! We're pirates! We go right!" Luffy shouted again, turning right.
'Idiot!'
Everyone turned the corner, only to see it was a dead end, and you landed.
"See. I told you s-." Just like that, the ground dropped from beneath your feet.
"CRAP!" "(Y/N)!" Zoro quickly grabbed you, pulling you into him to shield your fall.
You held on tightly to him, flinching at the painful thud that echoed in the room as the two of you landed.
"Crap! Zoro! Are you alright?!" You frantically asked, wiggling out of his grip and sitting on your knees to face him.
"Relax. I'm fine. I've been through worse," he assured, sitting up with a groan.
You could feel the eyes of a certain gray haired individual practically burning into you, but you decided to ignore it for the time being.
You felt this sudden wave of relief and gratitude wash over you, and despite the current situation, nothing mattered more than making sure he was okay and thanking him for his gesture.
It was something you've never felt before.
"Thank you," you smiled, looking into his eyes sincerely.
He blushed, quickly turning his gaze away from you.
"Let's focus," he quickly replied, standing up.
You shook yourself out of it, turning your attention to the matter at hand. "Right," you nodded.
"What a foolproof trick," Usopp sighed.
"Never woulda guessed this," Luffy agreed.
"(y/n) tried to tell you idiots!" Nami exclaimed, smacking them both upside the head.
BAM!
"Crap!" You groaned, slumping against the bars as you held your fist painfully.
"The hell? I'm using Godlike Strength right now. The door should've been blown off it's hinges."
A sudden wave of vertigo washed over you, making the world muddle and your strength sap away.
"I don't feel so good," Luffy grumbled, sticking his tongue out as he too slumped against the bars.
"Luffy! Watch out!" Zoro randomly warned.
Suddenly, the woosh of a staff cut through the air and knocked Luffy upside the head, the tip of it pinning him when he was on the ground.
"AHHHH! WHAT'RE YOU DOING?!" Usopp squealed.
Zoro got ready to draw his swords, but in a blink, you had already drew your mace and held its spikes up to Smoker's throat, a dangerous look in your eye.
"Bleugh! Why do I feel so weak all of a sudden? It's like when I fall into the sea," Luffy whined.
"The tip of my staff is made from a substance known as sea prism stone, a rare mineral. Not much is known about it but it supposedly gives off mystical energy at the same wavelength as the sea," Smoker curtly explained, his eyes intensely trained on you.
"So it effects those two the same as if they fell in the ocean?" Zoro asked, glaringly.
"Cells at navy headquarters are built with the same substance to keep criminals with devil fruit powers from escaping," Smoker confirmed.
"I may not have my powers at the moment, but that does not permit you to attack my captain. And seeing as you don't have your powers either, there's nothing stopping my spikes from finding a home in your throat. So choose your next actions carefully," you warned in a frigid tone, your demeanor glacial compared to who he met in Loguetown.
"Never took you for a pirate," he scoffed.
"Never took you as someone to kick a man while he's down," you scoffed right back.
"There's no point in fighting in a situation like this! Quit it!" Nami stated.
"She's right. Give it up," a gravelly voice smirked from across the room, everyone's attention turning to its source.
The chair at the desk swivels around to reveal man with greasy, slicked back hair and a very punch-able face.
"Crocodile," Smoker spat.
"Navy Captain Smoker. A pleasure to finally meet you. You seem to be every bit of dog the rumors say," Crocodile sneered.
"So this is a warlord?" Zoro stated, quizzically.
Crocodile began to monologue about how stupid the navy is to trust him as a warlord, and how he had the entirety of Alabasta under his thumb, hell, he even started to eat.
That is, until Vivi came bursting in, setting off her ultimate peacock slasher attack and seemingly decapitating the war mongerer.
Key word being seemingly.
In no time, the warlord had her in his grasp, having turned his neck into sand before she could cut it.
"Since you're a cititzen of this country, you must surely know that I hold the power of the Sand-Sand fruit," he smirked, grabbing her face.
"Want to become a mummy?"
"Vivi!" You exclaimed, taking your mace away from Smoker's neck and bashing it against the bars, not making a single dent.
"Hey! You better leave her along or I'm gonna kick your ass!" Luffy shouted, throwing up his arms in anguish.
Just then, Miss All-Sunday came up out of nowhere, a pocket watch in hand.
"It's exactly noon. Time for Operation Utopia to begin," she smiled, setting off Crocodile's malicious laughter.
"What's a Operation Utopia?" Luffy asked, scratching his head.
"It means that it's time for me to wipe Alabasta off the map as if it never was," he turned to Vivi with an evil smirk, "Miss Wednesday."

The situation had gone from zero to one hundred pretty quickly.
Crocodile gave Vivi a choice of going to Alubarna to stop the war, or staying back to save the Strawhats plus Smoker, and naturally she picked the latter.
Though of course it wouldn't be Crocodile without making Vivi's life impossibly difficult, so he began to flood the room with water, fed the only key to the cage to a banan-o-dile, and released the banan-o-dile to eat Vivi.
She was doing her best trying to dodge the attacks of the monsters, but time was of the essence and the rushing water was now up to waist level, making you, Luffy, and Smoker pretty much useless.
"I hate everything wet," you slurred, limp in Zoro's arms, "The sea can kiss my ass."
"I'd say trading the ability to tolerate water over a couple a powers is a pretty shitty deal on your end," he sighed.
"Shut up....mosshead," you groaned.
Just then, Sanji broke through the ceiling, beating up the creatures and using an oddly discovered Mr. 3 to make a new key and free everyone.
Too bad his ceiling busting caused a gigantic wave of water to flood the room, sweeping everyone out of the casino.

Suddenly, a certain swordsman had placed you onto land, begrudingly plopping a certain navy captain on land as well.
"Devil fruits...are a pain...in my ass," he panted, trying to catch his breath.
You groaned, still in a soaked haze as you coughed up some water, violently.
"Hey, hey, you alright?" Zoro's complaining turned concerned, him scooping you upright so you could breath.
"Peachy," you grumbled, abruptly sitting up, only to be met with the lips of the swordsman.
In your haze, you hadn't realized how close you two really were.
After a moment of shock, you two quickly jumped off each other.
"SORRY!" You two loudly apologized, both beet red and embarrassed as the entire crew snickered in the background.
"RORONOA!" Smoker shouted, launching an attack at the swordsman.
Zoro recovered from the...incident...quickly, blocking the captain's attack with ease.
"Why did you save me?"
"All I did was follow my captain's orders, so I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you. It's one of his crazy whims, pay it no mind," the swordsman answered, glaringly, turning to Luffy, who had Usopp cranking his arm like a water spout to help resuscitate him.
"And you wouldn't have any cripes with me carrying out my duties and arresting you, right," Smoker added.
"See, this is what you get for helping a marine," Sanji groaned.
You stood up from your spot on the floor, holding the navy captain's gaze as you walked up to him.
You stopped right before him, still keeping eye contact as you rested a hand on his chest.
"Now that we've saved your life...can you in clear conscious arrest us...." you looked up at him with doe eyes, "Smoker Captain Smoker?"
His breath hitched and he scoffed, removing your hand from him, though you could already tell his heartbeat accelerated.
"Just get out of here," he grumbled, turning away from you.
He had to. If he continued to look in your stupid (e/c) eyes, he would've done something very regrettable.
"Thanks a ton, Smokey," you smiled, flashing him a quick wink.
The gray haired man scoffed, a small tinge of blush coming to his cheeks as he looked away from you once more.
"Devil woman," he grumbled.
"I love my (y/n) when she's flirty!" Sanji fawned, his eyes quite literally hearts.
Zoro crossed his arms, internally eye rolling at the scene in front of him.
"Alright, guys, let's head to Alubarna!" You cheered.
"YEAHHHHH!!" Luffy shouted, now away and running off already.
"Wait, Luffy! I have to show you the way!" Vivi exclaimed, running off to catch up with him.
"Don't leave us behind!" Nami and Usopp followed, Sanji twirling behind them.
You and Zoro started to run as well, you opting for the more aerial option.
"What was all that back there?" Zoro curtly asked, trying his best not to come off...off.
"That, my dear swordsman," you cheesed, sticking out your tongue and winking, "is the power of womanly charm."
Zoro went wide for a moment, before scoffing, "You're evil."
"I just know how to play the game, Zo~" You smirked, flying closer to him and caressing his cheek.
The poor man blushed at the new nickname and frantically shooed you away from him, grumbling.
"Let's just get to this damn capital already!" He hushed you.
You smiled widely, turning your attention ahead of you.
"Whatever you say," you snickered, "......Zo~"
"SHUT UP!"

One Piece Red
[SPOILERS AHEAD!!!]
Because, I've watched the movie recently, in theater, I will share some of my favorite moments with you.
-Uta's singing: I am a huge fan of musicals and believe me the singer is beyond amazing. She needs real recognition for her amazing job!
-Luffy's and Uta's little fights: those two are so cute together, definitely siblings's vibes here.
-Thousand Sunny transformed into a plushy, the little lion cub is so cuuuuute af! I hope there's merchandise about it!
-For once the entire world is threatened by a movie's villain. Uta isn't joking.
-Elegia's island is breathtaking and Uta's concert is something else.
-Yasopp and Usopp's teaming up. The two snipers form an amazing team.
-Shanks acting as the perfect dad he is with Uta and Luffy. Not to mention, Shanks and Makino form a beautiful couple. ^^
-Barto trying to protect Luffy at his best while Luffy doesn't like it at all.
-Shanks displays his immense skills by using Conqueror Haki. Lots of people collapse but Kizaru and Fuji resist to that assault.
-Tot Musica is a magnificient villain. Uta is his puppet. Only a whole team can defeat that being.
-Big Mom's crew being forced to join forces with Shanks and Luffy.
-Shanks crying over Uta when he leaves Elegia for the first time, Shanks taking the blame on him.
-Shanks discovering Uta is cute af and when he tries to calm down the baby, he's trying to be a dad. The same thing with Roger and baby Shanks.
-Uta's and Shanks's final scene, it made me cry. Perfect daughter and perfect dad!
-Coby trying to convince people to wake up on the stage is amazing. He's grown up!
-Tot Musica's appearance and Robin solving the whole mystery. ^^
Side notes:
-The whole world is threatened but the Revolutionary Army doesn't show up?
-Uta is obviously the number one girl in the world, we should get a Hancock scene... But no.
-Luffy's and Uta's hug at one moment but once again Hancock doesn't display any of this!

I neeeeeeed to know about "luffy slips into an alternate timeline/dimension where he "died" instead of sabo and meets an older ace/sabo" I live for stuff like this please
sorry this took me so long! i. didn't realize you had sent an ask rip (that stupid sanji post has annihilated my activity page im in hell)
omg this one is actually one that i'm least likely to actually write because it has the potential to be Long (as you can see with the giant outline), but i wanted to kind of play around with the idea of luffy-less world in the post-timeskip era, because i really like time travel/redo fics where everyone is better/stronger but i think it would be NEAT if the straw hats had to fix things that might have happened if luffy died as a kid. think "doomed timeline" (if that means anything to you). even though the premise is technically ASL i am a straw hat bitch through and through so it's actually more of straw hat fic than the original idea.
here's a copy/paste under the cut (you will see that i write a lot of notes to myself in these things)
takes place post-timeskip era
sabo has no connection to the revolutionary war; he and ace set out as pirates together. because of this, they are not associated with whitebeard (therefore no marineford); instead, they are associated with shanks somehow (maybe; not subordinates tho)
they're no longer two captains one ship, two captains (allied) on two ships (SEE ALT 2)
straw hats have all experienced some form of "bad" ending that leaves them jaded, cynical, or (for some) borderline evil
luffy = strength, joy, freedom optimism; most arcs involve rescues, but i dont think any of the straw hats are "weak" enough to die during their initial crises without luffy, otherwise they wouldnt be straw hats--just win at a massive cost and the next three years would be significantly harder
zoro - frees himself from the courtyard and continues being the demon of the east blue but--
nami - gets the money to free her village, arlong refuses to free cocoyashi; nami seeks out the demon of the east blue in order to take out arlong (in exchange for the money she earned and that arlong has stashed). fight is brutal but they kill arlong; nojiko dies, nami ends up traveling with zoro afterwards bc she has no reason to stay behind with nojiko gone.
they become a well-known, ruthless, and efficient bounty hunting duo on the grand line (bc it earns money and zoro wouldnt make it out of the east blue without her); both are jaded as FUCK bc zoro's dream is stagnant and nami is still wrestling with the guilt of failing her family years later, they're also bloodthirsty because money + power fills the void
usopp - kaya dies in the initial plot to kill her, usopp is blamed and flees the village; gets picked up by the buggy pirates (please this could be so funny please but remember this is supposed to be sad but think of how funny this could be though circus sharpshooter usopp he and buggy would be. so funny in the same room together)
sanji - stays at the baratie until the vinsmokes have a use for him. "wedding"/WCI goes through(?) and/or sanji is a member of the big mom pirates; pudding refuses to kill sanji, big mom is going to kill her but sanji bargains for her life; germa mods are awakened; in order to protect zeff+etc, pretends to be emotionless like his brothers, ends up working as a germa agent instead of staying on WCI because now pudding is as much of a liability as zeff or smth (pudding tho??? pls be nice to her but figure smth out). sanji war crimes
chopper/brook/jinbei remain stagnant
franky - whore do not forget this man was a gang leader who did actual violence; franky family is bigger and badder than ever, babyy
robin - can't stay with crocodile (boring bland unoriginal) put her somewhere she can experience problems; maybe she leaves, ends up on water 7, encounters franky; joins franky family(?) for protection but since she's no longer under a warlord's protection she's fair game for marines/bounty hunters; continues to work as an assassin tho and doesn't stay around much to protect the franky family from the people after her
franky family could potentially work as an alt strawhats "maybe i dont want to die actually" environment for robin; franky helps robin stabilize a little but since they're both kind of Messed Up it's less of a "we're fine actually" and more like "we're fucked up but at least we're fucked up together". they run a Criminal Organization together. they are a gang. robin is an assassin. no one is happy go lucky here even if they have found measure of """"""peace""""""
luffy encounters ace/sabo, it's emotional (obvs; this is self-indulgent)
however his brothers are both fundamentally fine, they are thriving and alive--there's nothing here to fix. you know who isn't fine? his crew.
convinces ace/sabo that they need to find them--whether it's to convince them to join their crew or just to make sure they're okay (whats the motivation here besides luffy wanting them to be happy because they're his family? does he need one? does it even matter?)
ALT 1 are luffy's crew here or did luffy enter the doomed timeline alone. if so--everyone? or just a few
interesting interactions: doomed/real zoro (consider the implications of a zoro who has stagnated/given up on his dream; this guy's got issues but our guy has no self-preservation however maybe they both have no self preservation. interesting convo about worth or value of life without drive)
doomed/real nami (LOTS of grief here babes, but maybe an interesting convo here about strength vs vulnerability)
doomed/real sanji (ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my god can you imagine. can you imagine how much that would mess him up to see himself become Sanji Vinsmoke)
luffy has fundamentally changed all of their lives for the better but the straw hats are all strong as individuals (physically and emotionally) even before they join the straw hats. that's the point
even if the "doomed" straw hats encounter/join luffy would their lives fundamentally change for the better or are the experiences they accumulate as straw hats what changes them--it's not just luffy going "ur mine now you're happy" it's the development they go through during events/by interacting with each other; maybe some choose to stay where they are but have a shift in perspective of some kind
at least try with asl here
is sabo still kind of unstable? is ace still depressed? how does luffy's absence change them?
ALT 2 consider that they drift apart without luffy to hold them together; luffy makes an effort to reunite them?

Continuing from yesterday’s post. Today’s is a heavy one.
Raizo - In addition to his battle of endurance against Fukurokuju being completely raw and shares a lot in common with Oden holding the retainers above the burning oil. It's also silly and full of bizarre abilities, offering some much needed levity during some of the most fearful events the raid threw at our brave alliance members.
Kiku - She has an incredibly strong will though no one is without their limits. She was in tears over Ashura being hurt though he didn't blame her, none of her family did. Ashura made the choice to take on the fake Oden to protect them and allow them to carry on their shared dream. On the way to face the traitor, both Kin and Kiku seemed to harbor some doubt that the other would have the conviction to down him for good.
The conflict with Kanjuro was simultaneously a great and awful place for that side of her to show itself. Kiku being unable to attack the fake Oden isn't a weakness, it's her biggest strength. Kanjuro being an awful, scheming, and emotionally manipulating opponent who knew all too well how to pry into the sore spots of the Akazaya, and possibly was playing dead after the clash he had with them outside of Onigashima, didn't help.
Compared to facing the likeness of a family member, the Akazaya fighting Kaido was the easier task of the two. After 22 years, Robin still struggled to do the same against Black Maria’s illusions of her own family, whereas Kiku had had a few months at most. Then Bonney recently struggled with something similar as well.
Which flows right into,
Izo - He was fighting to his last breath to ensure that Kiku, Kin, Usopp, Robin, and Brook would be safe from CP0 and it all carries so much weight, you already know that though, don't need me to tell you. It's because he believed so strongly in Luffy’s ability to lead the alliance to victory, and possibly something bigger than in scope than Wano’s freedom which hasn’t yet been made clear, that Izo was willing to go the lengths that he did.
Beyond that, every way I look at his actions, the more I see them as showing the extreme resolve that following the samurai code can bring out in a person when channeled in the right direction. In spite of being away from Wano for so many years, he knew the raid was the last chance his home country had at freedom. Izo was balancing that thought and was taking part as a retainer of the Kozuki clan, the older brother of Kiku, a former member of the Whitebeard Pirates, and a member of the alliance.
Exactly when he and Marco separated isn't clear though Izo was on his own when he refused to let CP0 pass(Marco was next shown a few chapters later in a different part of the castle so I figure they agreed to separate at some point,) allowing the five I mentioned above to get to safety.
A choice that cost Izo was willing to spend his life over, due to his refusal to back down, in spite of the injuries he had sustained earlier. He went out on his own terms with the wish that his younger sister would get to lead a life where she no longer feels she has to throw her life away for the sake of stubborn pride. And like come on, he's her older brother, of course Izo would stop at nothing to protect her.
Usopp's involvement in their story then further drives home Izo challenging Kiku over attempting to choose what would have ultimately been a meaningless death and shows the value and bravery that choosing to live can hold. Even though he was terrified, Usopp didn’t don an alias once during the rescue if I remember, and I believe his only lie was the one about him having conqueror's haki. Izo recognizing him as “God” Usopp was the only mention of an alias, I believe, and was great.
I see some similar themes in the scene of Wanda being ready to blow herself up out of desperation, back when she believed Nami was an enemy, before being stopped by Pedro and being promised by Nami that she would help her and every mink on Zou.
Kin'emon - In spite of not really being cut from the cloth to be a leader, Kin'emon puts every ounce of his being into bringing new and old allies together, and ensuring that Wano would be freed. Against the overwhelming might of Kaido and the Beast Pirates before them, Kin and all of the Akazaya gathered allies and resources and refused to back down or give up on fulfilling the promise they made to Oden, trusting Luffy to pick up where he and his fellow samurai left off after giving their all.
It's at the core of what makes the Akazaya such fantastic and emotionally resonant characters and a big part of why I love every one of them.
