disenchantment spoilers i guess but everyone is mad about elfo and luci and im just. feeling very :// about mora.
i dont talk about this much but when i first watched golden wind the sorbet-gelato thing touched me in a really bad place and i talk about this a bit more but i really dont mind gay characters (or characters that just radiate that energy but arent canonically gay - tiz and squalo namely) dying in golden wind because it doesnt feel targeted. like theyre killed because many people die in the series not because theyre queer, personally i can work with that.
in disenchantment it felt a bit like a fake punch to see if i flinch, even though i suspected they wont just kill off the mc's sapphic love interest for shock value it felt a bit below the belt? like i still had to watch bean mourning her for a painfully long time, it felt a bit cheap. bean feeling lonely and wanting someone that loves and understands her on this level has been a theme for 5 entire seasons and im not a fan of being made to feel like it was all for nothing and even though she figured out who she loves she doesnt actually deserve to be with her.
its probably because in jojo there isnt really a romantic storyline like that in... any part tbh (not counting erina and suzi bc finding them isnt really the main jojo's goal or a big part of the story they just meet and decide "oh we must marry"). if i was shown how desperate cioccolata or secco or idk was to find someone that loves and accepts them for most of golden wind or if that was at least one of giorno's biggest personal goals in life only for his love interest to then get killed off in the last episodes i would like that show a lot less. like that would be cruel and earn the title of "bury your gays" and disenchantment reviving mora in the last minute wasnt satisfying enough for me to just forgive that entirely.
(i could also go off about the difference between how the two shows handle random revivals and fakeout deaths but thats a suitcase for another day and i might be biased but spoiler, that bothers me a lot less in jojo too. like they dont do it so often death stops being meaningful in any way)

Things you do that make their heart melt
(La Squadra Esecuzioni x reader hcs)
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Those are random but that's the point. I tried to be a bit explicit for those who are at the start of Jojo part 5 and maybe don't remember each character's Stand name or ability. I couldn't write this only for my 3 darlings from La Squadra as I started it because I love them all too much. Proud La Squadra stan. Excuse any grammar mistakes. Enjoy!
Risotto Nero
- How you can balance being serious and being affectionate so easily. This is something he admires a lot and wishes to be capable of too sometimes. Yes, he's a serious and stoic man but the whole La Squadra knows just how big his heart is. Sometimes Risotto wishes he could show a bit of affection to the ones dear to him. Risotto is a softie inside but the nature of his occupation forces him to be as reserved and stern as he is now.
- How you can protect yourself. Being a hitman is tough, nothing new under the sun, but being the leader of the team is even worse. It's hard to watch out for others when he also must make sure that everything is working out smoothly. But he cares about you and your safety so damn much it's almost dangerous. So seeing you handle enemies alone helps him fall asleep at night with fewer worries. Also, watching you fight and come up with strategies makes him smile slightly and so subtly that of course, no one can notice it.
- How you look dressed in black with silver accessories. Aesthetically wise, black is one of his favorite colors and no one can tell otherwise. When you decide to match him with a dark outfit, his gaze will follow you more than usual. Be sure of the fact that he'll use his Stand, Metallica, to give you subtle signals, or not so subtle, by pulling onto your belt or necklace.
(it's loving Risotto hours)
Prosciutto
- How you calm yourself down after an intense moment. Prosciutto himself is not proud of when he snaps at people, thinking that it's not graceful behavior so he starts studying you from afar while calming down. He analyzes your soft tone, your calm face but alert eyes after being harsh, to learn from you but he finds himself falling for it. Like his brother, he also craves a bit of softness in his life but will never admit it, not even to himself so seeing you simmer down and transform into someone calm and understanding makes him want your presence more.
- How you counter him when he is too cruel to his brother. He is harsh with Pesci and he knows it, but he thinks it's only for good. It's not about how you're stubborn enough to argue with him but about how it reminds him that if something ever goes wrong with him on a mission, someone else will make sure that his brother is still alright and progressing. Also, as you two are arguing, things get pretty heated in no time and as the distance between you closes in, everyone knows that it's better to leave you two alone.
- How focused you look when deciding on an outfit. That and how you ask him for an opinion. You can see him leaning back in an armchair just looking at you searching through your clothes with an amused but admirative look on his face. Prosciutto likes to make himself look presentable and if you do the same, he can't help but find that fact attractive. Plus he can play dress up with you without you even suspecting it and he can't get enough of it.
(why is he like that? Love him though)
Ghiaccio
- How you let yourself be angry sometimes. To him, almost anyone seems calmer than him, but seeing someone being as furious as him from time to time and that someone being you? That's new. It doesn't happen often and in some odd way, he finds it fascinating. As much as he enjoys teasing you, he'll never be the type to say "Just calm down" or "You're exaggerating" because he knows how much it enrages someone already angry to hear this. He will be very understanding when you're like that. Plus, if someone or something gets you angry, he gets angry too so it will end up with the two of you being a scary couple.
- How your eyes shine when you smile and your smile in general. He is baffled by how when your lips are curved into a smile, your eyes are radiant too. Usually, he uses this expressiveness of yours against you, teasing you about it but when you smile so warmly, he feels like he's looking at the sun and that's unnerving because it makes him blush. He can't understand it.
- How your nose scrunches when you get a brain freeze from consuming something cold. This along with how your cheeks and nose redden when you're cold. He rolls his eyes at himself for like such a shallow and obvious thing but can't help it. It's not how adorable you look it's more how no one notices such details but him. It's his guilty pleasure. He has a kink when it comes to your reactions to cold temperatures.
(ugh I love him so much it's pathetic)
Pesci
- How you encourage him randomly sometimes. Pesci's already having a hard time adjusting to hitman life and constantly being scolded by his brother. At first, when you encourage him, he's stunned, flustered, embarrassed even but in time he starts to feel so much better overall because of it. His stress goes down and he gets more confident and sure of his actions because of your praise.
- How you're kind to the innocent - animals, kids, etc. Since he followed his brother and joined the team, the shock from seeing so much violence in his life all of a sudden left a mark on him. When he notices you being soft to the innocent and helpless while still being a hitman, he starts to heal. His only wish is for you to keep this side of yours so he can keep his too.
- How peaceful you look while sleeping. Again, being in an Italian hitman team is not easy, it distorted any perspective on peacefulness he had before. Seeing you rest without a frown on your face reminds him that there still is peacefulness in this way of living.
Melone
- How you're intelligent enough but don't flaunt it. Sure, he likes good looks but that's not as important as intelligence, any type. Melone is a bit of a sapiosexual, he knows it. If you come up with smart questions during meetings, his attention is immediately on you from that point on until the end of the meeting. Also, if you're genuinely curious about how his stand, Baby Face, works, it only adds to your charm.
- How you pick up on his "di molto" catchphrase. Melone works a lot. I mean A LOT. Besides progenation, he's skilled at finding out hidden info about the target, too. But usually, he does it alone, no one accompanies him and sometimes he can't help but feel slightly ignored. So when you start spending enough time with him to start using his phrases, he starts to feel less alone.
- How you walk. Simple as that. He has been caught many times staring at how some people walk, it's a well-known fact. So if you walk a bit slower and move your hips a bit more intentionally, making it look natural, he's dead. To hell with the mission for a few moments of pure admiration.
Illuso
- How confident you are. You don't need him to hype you up and he won't, but you'll always catch him looking at you with a proud look on his face. However, not everyone can be confident all the time and Illuso knows it very well. When he finds you letting your guard down and looking disappointed with yourself, he'll act right away. He hates seeing you struggle with shallow insecurities as you are just so wonderful in his eyes...
- How you take time to relax. He always insists on you taking everything a bit more slowly, so when you finally do it, he's more than pleased. He likes to see your facial muscles loosen up, causing a relaxed expression. He wishes to see it more often and he wishes for you to prioritise taking care of yourself.
- How you study yourself in the mirror while getting ready. He will use his Stand's ability to enter that mirror's dimension just to look at you from that perspective. This applies to intimate moments as well, just a heads-up. However, his favorite moment to do that is when you're fixing your hair, there's something about it that he finds so damn attractive.
Formaggio
- How you focus on the mission at hand. That, and how serious you look while doing it. Don't get it wrong, he's also focused on the missions but he looks more laid-back, like a natural. He finds it funny and adorable how you look so stern and even suggest him to pay more attention.
- How you always mention Sorbet and Gelato after their death. Everyone knows that Risotto said to forget about it after the funeral to focus on getting back on track as fast as possible and avenging them afterward but to Formaggio, this never felt right. So when you mention a memory from time to time to everyone, his heart feels a little bit lighter.
- How you dance to your favorite songs. He thinks that the majority of members of La Squadra are too stiff and grim sometimes so catching you dancing around alone to your playlist makes him smile. For him, it's like a breath of fresh air. Expect him to join you.

Legend vs Sky, who would win?
Okay, this has been lingering in my ask box for a bit because my golly gosh, I'm not sure what it was meant for.
Like, there are so many ways you could compare them, but for the sake of my sanity (and orientation) I'm going to just say you're asking about who would win in a fight.
So!
Both Legend and Sky have training under the Master Sword's spirit. Obviously, Sky was in a knight's academy for an unspecified amount of his life, but he also had Fi teach him how to be a hero who could kill a god. And yeah, Sky killed a literal god, so we have that weighing in for him.
Now, Legend was taught some skills of being a knight by his uncle, but only right before the man died. if you go with Manga lore though, his grandfather has also attempted to teach him their heritage and the ways of their family line of knights. On top of this though, I would like to point out that Legend spent nearly his first adventure with hardly any training, but he is, cannonically, capable of hearing Fi, so it's likely she gave him a lot of help too, since the hero before him kinda died without her aid (to be fair, he had Navi, and two blue ladies screaming at him would have been too muc for him).
So both have training. Sky's training as a knight is iffy though, since the only thing Skyloftain knights needed to do was fight aerially. Still, he knows how to weild a blade. Granted, Legend's is also iffy, as he was, quite frankly, a terrible student.
Experience wise, Sky had a long and arduous adventure that relied heavily on his skills with a blade.
Legend has had six adventures, but typically speaking, he was using a lot of weapons that were not swords during the main journeys, and most of his actual sword fighting skills were only employed with boss fights.
Sky killed Demise.
Legend killed Ganon.
Now, Demise is clearly the greater foe, being a god, but I would like to throw out, before I break down a fight between these two, that by Legend's time, Ganon was an immortal being with infinite power per the Triforce, so... kinda of bordering god-hood. All of Legend's adventures have also focused on saving deity's, or their avatars, so that would imply that he is someone powerful enough to fight things that a literal goddess cannot handle.
Sky, however, has done the same.
Now, if they were to fight each other, we'd have an interesting situation before us. According to JoJo, Sky is the most skilled swordsman in the group, and he's scary fast and scary skilled. Legend is not nearly as skilled as Sky, or graceful, but the vet does have more experience, meaning he'd be less likely to really fight Sky head on in an honest to goodness battle. Legend's style, most likely, would be more defensive and evasive, since that's what works best when playing his games: avoid being in the path of destruction, and dart in to strike a blow right as your opponent is recovering from attacking you.
Sky is also much larger than Legend, and probably a great deal stronger; Sky can run around carrying a tower of pumpkins and Legend needs a power bracelet to pick up clay pots. Legend does have speed on his side, but take that away and his chances go down.
I'd say in a fight, Sky would definitely win. If they were using swords. If limited to blade alone, Sky would just have to slow Legend down, and then he could take him outr quite easily.
That said, in a fight were Legend has full access to his arsenal, there's a good chance he would win. He's better skilled with multiple weapons, and with the use of his items, he could hamper movement, create barriers, and even turn himself intangible for short periods of time to avoid heavy blows (magic cape). Granted full use of his arsenal, and with Legend adaptiveness in battle and resourcefulness, he could manage, with a lot of effort, to take Sky down.
In a one on one, mano y mano fight though, with only basic tools, Legend is getting his ass handed to him.
Lets not forget though, Sky would compliment him regardless. In case you haven't noticed, Legend is his best friend in the chain, or so far anyway, so if these two fought, yeah, they'd give their best. They're both competitive power-houses, but Sky is a good sport (most of the time) so he'd play nice after the fight is over, and we've seen that Legend isn't incapable of showing his respect for another's skill either.

How about some Bridget relationship hc?
I am enjoying my favorites getting some love.
Tumblr media
-She is bit of a airhead, which means you have to remind her of stuff. New bounties, that she has to go after, to cook dinner, take out trash. Even date nights.
"Bridget, are you ready?" You found her in the living room, watching a action show. As she turned to face you, you noticed, she was wearing. An over sized hoodie and nothing else. She blinked couple times in confusion, before remembering. "Oh my god! Give me ten minutes, I'll be ready in that time." And, with that she ran to her room, to dress up for the date.
-She is extremely chill in a relationship. You have never seen her get even slightly angry. When you get frustrated with the dirty dishes and say about it, she will do it for the next week straight with a smile. She doesn't want neither of you feel hostility in the relationship.
-She likes to paint her nails, often asking for you to do her nails. And, than she will ask, if she could do yours. She is very excited to do your nails, when you say yes. She will let you pick a color, she doesn't want you feel uncomfortable with them. Will be extremely happy, if you start painting your nails just every now and then without her
-She tried to teach you jojo tricks. It did not go well. She tried to explain you the basics on how to do it a basic tricks, but you ended more often hitting your face with the jojo. She will chuckle at couple first times, when you hit yourself with it, but after fifth time she is starting to get worried about bruises.
-Bridget is very cuddly person, with you and Roger. This often leads to Roger joining your cuddling sessions. You will glare daggers, at Roger when Bridget isn't looking. Usually, this works and you get to spend some time with Bridget without interruptions.
-Roger third wheels your dates sometimes. Not usually, but sometimes. He wants to make sure you're the one for Bridget. He would hate to see her sad. Roger over times accepts you, but he is still suspicious over you.
-Ghost/Bug eviction. No matter what kind of bug, you are there to protect Bridget from them. She will rely on you for bug protection. When you learned about her fear of ghost, you considered busting Roger's ass out. But, you knew how much he meant to her so you decided to keep it a secret.
-She hates horror movies. But, despite that she will watch some. More often shielding her vision with a pillow or covering behind you. She wants to train herself to be able to handle stressful situations, so this a safe way of practicing. Watching horror movies, with her.
-Naps on you. She claims, that you make the best pillow for her to sleep on. You aren't complaining, as she very cute when she sleeps, but the cuteness factor drops down by ten when she drools on your shirt.
-Do not try bitter food or anything bitter with her. She will be suspicious of your cooking for a long while, refusing to eat it, unless she has seen you cook it.
-Affirmations about your relationship. You have to assure her, you think she is extraordinarily pretty, and you are happy to be in a relationship with her. Hugs and small kisses are the best way to assure her how content you are in a relationship with her.
-Hoodies. So many Hoodies. She got so many hoodies, you're pretty sure you could own a hoodie store with them. This had led to you borrowing her hoodies. And, in return she borrows your clothes.
-She tries to happy, even when she is having bad times. But, you have to assure it okay to be sad sometimes. This makes her tear up, as she hasn't had a environment where she could be vulnerable for so long. She will cry against, your shoulder wondering how she got a such a wonderful partner. This also means, you can be vulnerable with her. She will do same things, you did with her. Which is cuddling with some sweets, while watching a show. This approach has worked for both of you getting you out of your slump.

THE INTERVIEW
Dom! Jojo Todynho × George Mackay
Jojo Todynho and George Mackay had recently a femdom photoshoot about dominance and submission dynamics and celebrating female power.
They give an interview about how this experience was and how they felt.
*Imagines (everything is fiction)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interviewer: Jojo, it's clear you had a blast during the photoshoot, exuding dominance and playfulness. How did you approach the role of the severe dominatrix?
Jojo Todynho: Oh honey, when they told me I'd be the one cracking the whip, I said, "Finally, someone's recognizing my natural authority!" *laughs* But in all seriousness, it was about tapping into that confident, powerful energy and owning it.
Interviewer: And George, how was it working with Jojo in that dynamic?
George Mackay: *blushing slightly* Well, Jojo certainly knows how to command a room. Her energy on set was infectious, and it was a joy to play off of that.
Jojo Todynho: Bless his heart, he's such a good sport. But let's be real, George was like putty in my hands! *laughs* Nah, he held his own, but it was fun to tease him a bit.
Interviewer: Jojo, your jokes about George's "natural submission" are cracking us up. How did he handle being the subject of your playful banter?
Jojo Todynho: Oh, he took it like a champ! But seriously, George is such a sweetheart, and he brought so much to the shoot. We had a good balance of fun and professionalism.
Interviewer: George, did Jojo's playful dominance ever catch you off guard during the shoot?
George Mackay: *chuckles* Definitely! But it added to the authenticity of the dynamic we were portraying. Jojo has this magnetic presence that draws you in, and it was exhilarating to play opposite her.
Jojo Todynho: Aw, shucks, George! You're making me blush now. But seriously, he handled it like a pro. And let's face it, he looked damn good in that collar! *winks*
Interviewer: It sounds like you both had a fantastic time on set, bringing this dynamic to life.
Interviewer: George, being naked for this photoshoot must have been quite an experience. How did you feel about it?
George Mackay: Well, it was definitely a vulnerable experience, but I approached it with the same professionalism as any other role. It was about embodying the character and telling the story authentically.
Jojo Todynho: And let me tell you, sweet George here didn't have anything to be shy about! *laughs* Those veins were popping, and let's just say, he had a good size to work with!
Interviewer: *chuckles* Jojo, you never fail to keep us entertained with your candid comments. George, how did you maintain focus amidst Jojo's playful remarks?
George Mackay: *grinning* Jojo definitely kept me on my toes with her commentary, but it added to the fun atmosphere on set. At the end of the day, we were there to create art, and her energy only fueled that creativity.
Jojo Todynho: Hey, I'm just stating the facts, honey! But in all seriousness, George handled it like a pro. He didn't let any of my shade throw him off his game.
Interviewer: Jojo, your humor is infectious. How important do you think it is to keep things light-hearted on set, especially when tackling themes like this?
Jojo Todynho: Oh, it's crucial! We're all professionals, but that doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun. Laughter helps break the tension and allows everyone to feel more comfortable, especially when you're baring it all, like George here!
George Mackay: *laughs* Couldn't have said it better myself. Jojo definitely brought the laughter and the sass, and it made the whole experience unforgettable.
Interviewer: Well, it sounds like you both had a blast, despite the challenges. Jojo, we can't overlook the whip moments from the photoshoot. How did you approach wielding the whip, and what was that experience like?
Jojo Todynho: Oh, honey, let me tell you, I was channeling my inner dominatrix! *laughs* But in all seriousness, it was about finding that balance between commanding presence and ensuring everyone's safety on set. The whip became an extension of my character, adding intensity to the shots.
Interviewer: George, what was it like being on the receiving end of Jojo's whip for those shots?
George Mackay: It was certainly an adrenaline rush! Jojo knows how to handle that whip with finesse, and she made sure to choreograph the movements in a way that looked dynamic on camera while keeping me safe.
Jojo Todynho: Oh, I wasn't too hard on him... this time! *laughs* But seriously, George was a trooper. He trusted me, and together with the photographer, we captured some truly stunning moments.
Interviewer: Can you walk us through how those whip shots were orchestrated?
Jojo Todynho: It was all about communication and coordination. We discussed the poses and movements beforehand to ensure everyone was on the same page. Then, it was a matter of timing and precision to capture those striking moments.
George Mackay: And safety was paramount. We had padding and precautions in place to minimize any risk, and Jojo's expertise ensured that the shots looked authentic without compromising anyone's well-being.
Interviewer: It sounds like a carefully orchestrated process to achieve those impactful shots. Jojo, in some of the photos, we see moments where your latex gloves make contact with George's body. Can you tell us about the significance of those moments and how you approached them during the shoot?
Jojo Todynho: Oh, honey, let me tell you, those moments were all about asserting dominance and control. And George here, well, let's just say he got a taste of what it's like to be under my command *smirks*.
Interviewer: George, how did you navigate those moments of physical contact with Jojo's latex gloves?
George Mackay: *clears throat* It was certainly a unique experience. Jojo brought such intensity to those moments, and while it was all part of the artistic vision, it did push me out of my comfort zone a bit.
Jojo Todynho: Oh, come on, George, don't be shy now! You know you secretly enjoyed it *laughs*. But in all seriousness, George handled it like a champ, even if he was squirming a bit under my touch.
Interviewer: Jojo, your playful banter certainly adds an extra layer of intensity to the discussion. George, how did you maintain focus and professionalism amidst Jojo's provocations?
George Mackay: It was definitely a challenge, but I reminded myself of the importance of staying in character and telling the story authentically. Jojo's energy kept me on my toes, but it also elevated the dynamic between us on camera.
Jojo Todynho: Aw, look at George trying to play it cool *laughs*. But seriously, he handled it like a pro. We were able to push boundaries and create some unforgettable moments together.
Interviewer: It's clear that the chemistry between you two translated into some captivating shots. Jojo, the photoshoot captured some intense moments, including ones where George's arousal was evident. Can you share your thoughts on capturing those raw emotions and reactions?
Jojo Todynho: Honey, let me tell you, there's nothing quite like capturing that raw, unfiltered desire on camera. And when George's cock started hardening, well, let's just say it added an extra layer of intensity to the shots.
Interviewer: George, how did you feel about those moments being captured and immortalized in the photos?
George Mackay: *clears throat* It was definitely a vulnerable experience, but it was also a testament to the authenticity of the emotions we were portraying. Jojo created a safe and supportive environment where I felt comfortable exploring those aspects of the character.
Jojo Todynho: Oh, George, don't be shy now! You know you were serving some serious heat in those moments *laughs*. But seriously, it's all about tapping into those emotions and capturing them in a way that feels genuine and compelling.
Interviewer: Jojo, your ability to capture those raw emotions is truly remarkable. How do you ensure that your subjects feel comfortable enough to express themselves so openly?
Jojo Todynho: It's all about building trust and creating a supportive atmosphere on set. I make sure to communicate openly with my subjects, listen to their needs and concerns, and provide encouragement and guidance throughout the process.
George Mackay: And Jojo's infectious energy and professionalism made it easy to let go and fully immerse myself in the moment. It was a collaborative effort that resulted in some truly powerful imagery.
Interviewer: It's evident that the trust and rapport between you two were instrumental in capturing those intense moments. Thank you both for sharing your insights with us!

character ask game... umm this is probably generic but rohan... u get him
ThankYou for the ask 💗
First impression: It was , a 6+ hour long continuous explosion of epiphany and realization.. i cannot describe the magnitude of his impact it was spiritual.. actually felt just like this: ↓
Tumblr media
Impression now: hes so META, how do i explain what rohan means to me? he's an artist, above all else, whats most fascinating is the very fact that araki created this guy.
Favorite moment: The spider i condone it
Tumblr media
And this LOL
Idea for a story: we got a lot of rohan stories at this point. but, i feel very curious about his parents.. however, it feels that because of the nature of his character, we are not supposed to know this, the same way he cannot die..
Unpopular opinion: he's not a dilfhunter desperate to get railed by jotaro or honestly anyone for that matter at least the way he is during part 4 is just so contradictory to this fan characterization, hes detached, rohan is detached from actual direct human relationships, hes not trying to get fucked its some of the most out of character things ive seen from the fandom it drives me nuts....... Rohan has turned people into objects of study..there is an emotional detachment. This is the core of all his problems. He does not even remember the trauma. He would never go out and seek relationships the way a lot of fan interpretations depict him, you know?
Another: i also think a lot of people dont often see rohans growth? the impact koichis friendship had on him, the realization that he can just, be friends with people, and he does, he makes more and more friends, hes still rohan, but this is not an insignificant change at all
Favorite relationship (platonic, familial etc): ok gonna list, a few. because how cant i.... Reimi..of course. It's so cute. i like to think she really encouraged him to pursue art when he was little.
Kyoka its perfect only they can handle each other. Also, why doesnt anyone talk about how she was the most important thing in his life during millionaire village ..!!!!???? canonically?! he trusts her so much she has the keys to his house x
and josuke it's the funniest thing ever and i love what it brings out in rohan..
Bakin if he counts, its so cute to me that he decided to get a dog, and bakin being apparently a labrador retriever like Arnold🥹 Ok i cant stop listinh these I also love his friendship with tonio 💗
Favorite headcanon: Pink dark boy is, within the jojo universe, what jojo is to us..a bit to the left, maybe, but, even to those characters, i believe pink dark boy is such an incredibly insane baffling colorful creation. We can only imagine

the mcc misogyny discussion always misses out on scott smajor though. he is the one who makes the teams. he is the one enabling the community to hold the women to ridiculously high standards by balancing them as s tiers before they are and giving them weaker teams. why was he giving jojo significantly weaker teams than purpled every time? why is he balancing hannah as if she’s s tier when she isnt?
not to mention the amount of women that are just used as nerfs. tina niki puffy gee etc. and SO many women he invites to the event are significantly weaker than the men so he’s like YEAH WOO WOMEN GAMERS! but only if they can be used as nerfs. <- because why were women who dont play minecraft invited to the event before jojo and hannah who are actual cracked minecraft players.
yes scott has to handle the entire event and no i’m not saying he’s awful and evil and deserves to be harassed but his subtle misogyny NEEDS to be addressed. and its not even all that surprising because white gay men often conflate themselves with women when the struggles are very different.
ya your right a lot of the representation of women in mcc does come down to the creation and development process. but I felt that was a different conversation than fan behaviour bc there's a lot more to consider . let it be known rn I am a Scott major enjoyer I watch his empires and life series povs.
on one hand, the teaming situations are routinely ignored by the Scott, even though women such as Tina have been asked for specific teamings they've been denied- but in a way where we as the viewer might not notice because shes been teamed with at least one s tier player and her friends each time. but Tina has made it clear she feels like a different teaming formula would benefit her better.
in terms of Scott only inviting lower skilled female players we cant say that for certain. we don't know who has applied for the mcc waiting list, how long they've been there who might've turned down invites for the event etc etc. another thing is that the players are usually selected from a marketing perspective- who is popular, what teams will generate discussions, what will bring in more viewers and keep the viewers hyped in the space between team announcements and the event. so Im not sure we can say theyre invited only if they can be used as nerfs but more so their connections between current players and their prevalence in trending game related events
there is a lot of issues with mcc teaming that need to be addressed because even if women aren't invited with the intention of a buffer they do often find themselves as being the balancing point of a team or as the makeup of a weaker team in order to ensure a specific ranking order (mainly non canon events) its something that can easily be brushed off as tier rank balancing but its also creating an environment of disdain for women because everyone assumes that the women will be the weak point of the team and in so face an insane amount of negativity from creators and community because they tend to have lesser followings than male cc's around the same skill level and so are not as heavily considered in marketable team makeups or defended by fans

OMG what other things do Moira and Cass bond over?
How many times Genji and Reyes do something that nearly gets everyone killed. Like, I feel like people forget that in Retribution Cassidy and Moira were the ones going "this is a shitty situation you put us in and we are probably going to die", Moira was a lot calmer about the situation but you can tell she wasn't happy.
Also you can tell in the opening scene how Cassidy and Moira handle missions vs how Reyes and Genji do. Cassidy and Moira seem to the more calculated attackers, only really knocking people out and killing people when necessary. Which is kinda ironic since Cass is described as "reckless" in the file Talon has on him.
Also with the way Reyes talks with Genji I can see both of them just sitting back and watching Genji chase Reyes around the blackwatch base after a comment about Hanzo. Like it's five in the morning, they're drinking coffee and watching as Reyes tries to get himself killed by a ninja with anger issues.
Gabe, running through the base halls: shit shit shit SHIT- Moira, who just woke up: What happened this time? Cassidy, handing her a coffee while reading a book: The boss decided it was a good idea to bring up Genji's brother....again. Moira: ....Do we need to help? Cassidy: He dug his grave, he can lie in it.
Also, coffee, you can't tell me that out of all four of them Cassidy, the one who has a coffee blog, doesn't know how to make a good ass coffee, and with type of people the other four are I firmly believe that none of them are allowed in the kitchen.
I feel like they also bond over comics, they both give me the vibes of they would be spiderman fans. In fact I think they would like a lot of the same pop culture stuff. (Moira introduced Cassidy to JoJo's Bizarre Adventures and Cowboy Beebop, I will not be told otherwise)
I also stated this in another post but they I do feel that they respect eachother, specifically I personally believe they were considered the bigger threats of Blackwatch because, again, they're the more calculated fighters. Genji and Gabe fight on emotions meanwhile Cassidy and Moira are fighting to survive. Meaning they're, you know, actually thinking things through-
Also they both dress up, have you seen they're skins? Those two are extra when it comes to designing outfits.

For the character ask game: could I please have 2, 5, 12, 18, 24 about Nathan (Seymour, lol 😉)? 💖
AHHHH YES! Sorry I only teared up twice answering these. also take a shot every time I use the word "iconic" because seriously they absolutely are (also alternating between she and they pronouns because that is how she exists in my brain fja;owejf):
2. Favorite canon thing about this character? Yes. All of the above. OKAY as true as that is, really? The vibes are immaculate. The aesthetic, the attitude, the style, hell- even the Dominoes Sponsorship /j Everything about Nathan is just chef's kiss. I love how they are just unapologetically themselves. Like UEGH even in… the Rising movie when they're going through that dream/memory/nightmare sequence and then snap out of it at the end by like hugging that younger version of them. Like it legit makes me tear up cause I see it as… Nathan being the version of herself that she needed back then. To just show herself a little bit of self-love. And it's just beautiful to me! Nathan Seymour is beautiful inside and out for real.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about this character? SAME AS YURI I'M SO SORRY-- THE FIRST THOUGHT WAS "GIRL IS ON FIRE" I promise I understand fire motif characters have more depth and that I'm just a slut for Alicia Keys, but TBH it completely fits Nathan a whole lot better. "So bright, she can burn your eyes, better look the other way. You can try, but you'll never forget her name." Also "She got her head in the clouds, and she's not backing down." Like not to talk about Sky High but like! Sorry I'll just never get over her riding on Sky High's shoulders as he flies around okay.
12. What is a headcanon you have for this character? I'm not too sure how much of this is actually considered a headcanon but I definitely believe that Nathan and Kotetsu have had a fling before. Super casual, no hard feelings afterwards, just a super cute temporary fling. A flame, if you will xD Like, maybe they one of them needed a date for a wedding or a plus one to some fancy event and they just had a really really good time. It's silly but their friendship just means a lot to me yes.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire? What if I sat here and sobbed about Fire Emblem and Sky High for ten years? What if I laid on the ground and made you a sweater of my tears? Like not even just because FireSky is a top-tier ship for me romantically but like? Even just their partnership as buddy heroes is just so wonderful and wholesome like. I love that in their episode in season 2, their "conflict" is… Thinking the other one is too perfect. And too good. That's just? It's so sweet and I can't handle it. They're so different from each other but in the best way possible. Like peanut butter and jelly. Different but they go together so so so well. Nathan is sassy and fierce while Keith is golden retriever goober man. They compliment each other so so well. One day I will finally finish (start) the one shot idea I have for them but sadly I fail at completing things fjao;efi
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them? This is hard because Nathan is so freaking iconic but like…. if I had to pick one out….. Okay same as the last ask I'm having such a hard time but! If I had to shove them into another fandom that I love, I think they would fit So well into Ace Attorney (Imagining her as a witness or even a guest prosecutor would just be so much fun) or into Jojo's BIzarre Adventure, Part 6 Specifically (I would just love to see them interact with some of the Stone Ocean ladies.)

part 2 to this post. It’s a little more in depth and longer, sorry. Lyrics are in red :)
I have a friend I call/When I've bored myself to tears/And we talk until we think we might just kill ourselves/But then we laugh until it disappears Race and Albert basically became the Newises leaders when Jack disappeared, so the idea that they act as each other’s therapist (as most best friends do). Race uses humor to deflect his emotions, and Albert…is Albert. They’ve had to use these coping mechanisms many times throughout their lives, too many times for teenagers. Late night talks on the rooftop, fire escape, or on one of their bunks are sometimes the only thing keeping them alive.
And last night I blacked out in my car/And I woke up in my childhood bed/Wishin' I was someone else, feelin' sorry for myself/When I remembered someone's kid is dead again, this one goes to Albert. Part of Jacob Fisher’s Albert backstory was that he had a little brother, Benji, who died(?) in the refuge, so Splasher’s death would bring back the memories of losing his brother. Seeing Buttons and Tommy Boy react the same way he did makes it that much harder, he wants to help them get through it but he doesn’t now how.
Jesus Christ, I'm so blue all the time/And that's just how I feel/Always have and I always will/I always have and always will in the part 1 of this post, I have this part to the older Newises, and it still is them, but for this post, it’s specifically Jojo. He, like most of the Newises, never learned how to properly handle and communicate emotions. Years and years of suppressing emotions and tangling them into this knot leaves him in the weird numb state where he doesn’t feel like he feels anything anymore. With the fight, Jack’s disappearance, and then Splaher’s death, the knot comes untangled and Jojo breaks.
And it's 4 AM again/And I'm doin' nothing/Again and finally, Jack. Jack had no idea what’s going on at the lodging house, but he knows he left his brothers after a huge fight. He knows they’re all injured as has to assume that someone’s dead. The guilt eats at him while he’s hiding at Medda’s theater. He wants to go back, to comfort them, but he can’t. thank you for coming to me Ted talk (and reading the whole thing<3)

I’m not defending Mew I’m just saying it’s wrong that Boston hasn’t committed crimes. Plus everyone is gonna have their own interpretation of scenes in the show. For me, Boston isn’t really the least worst of them, that would probably be Sand. IMO Boston didn’t really take no for an answer bc he continued pushing Top on multiple occasions and he didn’t get consent before touching him multiple times, that’s pretty bad in my book. It might not be for other people but it is for me. That doesn’t mean I dislike Boston or that I am defending Mew, Boston is one of my favorite characters. But he’s also done some fucked up shit. I’d put it at worse than cocaine and not as bad as drunk driving. It doesn’t mean his friends aren’t also assholes too, it’s just a fact about him without bringing other people’s actions into it.
Okay? As I said. All toxic. Everyone is going to have their opinion and their own view.
So why are you trying to convince me?
Honestly, I sort of disagree. I think that Boston is still the least wrong. Sand deliberately used Ray in order to get revenge on Top as well as using his friendship with Nick to get the recording that is now haunting the entire friend group.
Boston is an ass and a selfish person but he's damn close to Sand levels for me. Because he also owns everything he does and doesn't push back against accusations unless they're genuinely untrue.
The other question of Boston's actions goes to an entire part of this that I am not an expert on which is discussing the gay sex scene and understanding in Thailand which is one reason I have been avoiding judging Boston for his and Top's moments because I have seen a lot of discourse about how many non-gay Asians misinterpreted those scenes though foreign eyes and I am not going to add my voice to the chorus of things I don't fully understand.
But at this point? I am a staunch Boston apologist because I feel like the show is setting him up to suffer more than the people doing this to him. As much as I want to trust Jojo, I don't know that I do trust him and GMMTV to actually handle Cheum seeing her own mistakes or owning up to them because her mistakes fit the morality they follow. Same for Mew.
Look, it's great that you feel different about Boston's actions and I'm very happy you do. Please... make a post about it! Share all your reasons with the world! Write some great meta! Go and do it!
But trying to convince me to change my mind is not gonna get the answer you want.

Only Friends Ep 5 Thoughts
PRE-EP: I want to start by saying that I think that I got a handle on Mew's character now. Thanks to a couple of great posts and that screenshot about Jojo talking about Mew being a swiftie and listening to King of My Heart currently as of ep 4. My current stance (in brief) is that this is a guy who is feeling big things(love/like) for the first time ever, and is making a lot of concession to his checklist and perfect guy mindset because he doesn't want to stop seeing Top and potentially not feel like that anymore. He is well on his way of falling in love. I do still half wish there was a more Manipulative side to Mew, but I made my peace with it not being there. I hope the ep doesn't make me re-think everything again and maybe gets me some confirmation about self-aware Mew is this moment, that would be nice.
Onto the EP
Sand EP!!!! I love that Sand this is set up is basically my life was routine and normal and then Ray came along. And I can't decide if that sounds more like a rom-com setting, or a sci-fi/fantasy one.
Sand as a bit of anger problem I think, not in a super obvious dangerous way, but in a quick to anger, quick to throw hands way. Nothing new but I feel like I should point it out, because people have been acting like we have not seen Sand's flaws since the first ep.
QUEER SOLIDARIETY!!! We love to see it!!
Ray really is the disprutor to Sand's everything. Do you guy think they fucked?
Cockblocking count: 2
I love Nick and Sand little smiles as they exit the kitchen, also their friendship banter is immaculate.
Top instilling the doubt. I can see the Mew will get/steal the hostel from Ray agenda getting stronger.
How do Ray and Sand go from cute to hot in like 5 sec
STOP TRYING TO TAKE GLASSES OUT OF PEOPLE THAI BLS!! I FUCKING MEAN IT!!! Glasses are a totally normal part of life, do not take out Mew's glasses or so help me!!
Also Top suggesting the Lasik and then saying but I do like you better looking a bit nerdy is just 10/10 I love it.
I love that you can see Boston really doesn't care for this particular course (because he is doing out of family obligation). Also love that you can see the exact moment Boston's thought turn not safe for work.
Boston is chosing violence on poor Nick today. He is happy and wary at the same time. And it also feels so much like the calm before the storm.
You know the fact that Boston can't ever answear any of Nick's question without dismissing it as love stuff, like baby other people need more then you do. You have to give him something. Also love Nick going I want to know if I can sleep with others too, that is what I wanted him to say.
So someone already tried to take a secret video of Boston having sex. Also Boston seems to be either working on his thoughts in real time, or it's all rouse for Nick's benefit and that was the plan all along. I can't decide.
Cockblocking count: 3 (now with more then one couple)
Good to know Sand's Mom and his connection to the go-go bar. Also that was such a nasty trick. Like come on, you got him worried for nothing. Not the best Mother in the world is she? She loves him but she so flighty. Sand shouldn't be shouldering your debts and his school, You should not be bragging about that.
Top-Mew being shot more romantic rather then then sexy and a little more fade to black feels like a delibarate choice. A very interesting one.
I love them, the more they make me root for Ray and Sand the more the future hurts already.
Cockblocking count: 4 - or 5 since they techinically cockblocked each other
If you stop at the right moment you can see the exact second his heart breaks after Ray sad we're friends.
Sand no longer wants to be alone with Ray - because of that we're just friends comment. He does't sleep with Friends Ray he told you that.
I can't decide if I love or hate Boston right now. Because like Sand needed to know, but also dick move.
He fully admitted to the picture, probably because of the alchool. Boston deserved that punch.
WAIT!!! They even screwed???? I thought that was a lie?????? why repeat it now like he believes it??? It makes no sense to repeat a lie right now and like that?
Thier friendship is already falling apart.
NOOOOOOOOO WHY WOULD YOU HURT ME LIKE THIS JOJO!!!!!!!!!!!!
The preview looks interesting. It also looks like they are going for the lasik. I should have known, it was too good to be true. Glasses don't last long in BLs.
My thoughts on Mew are still solid. But now it feels like Mew is even less self aware then I thought/hoped. Which is a dissapointment. Of course he might be, and this is all just a ruse. But I don't really know anymore.

I know the topic of Krolia has already been brought up, but I kind of want to touch on it again, if you’re interested. (Disclaimer: I haven’t watched the show in a year.)
I like her, but at the same time, I don’t.
On one hand, she’s really cool – she’s this bamf, strong, good-looking, stoic woman who is also kindhearted and compassionate – like DAMN mamma Kogane knows what’s up! But on the other hand, she’s… a terrible mom. I think that her time with Keith didn’t do anything good for his other relationships, and that it most likely hurt his character growth and ironically made him more isolated. Sure, he “matured”, but he lost his spark in doing so. As an adult myself, I don’t believe that maturing and becoming a responsible adult means sacrificing that spark, but I digress…
She was an absentee mother who chose her mission over her family. And while that’s honourable and probably the “right” thing to do in the context of an endless intergalactic war, I don’t think that a child would forgive that so easily, let alone choose to follow in her footsteps and become a carbon copy of her. Keith suffered a lot of trauma as a kid, partially due to her choices, and has lingering abandonment issues as a result. If anything, I feel like the natural reaction for him would have been to resent her.
I don’t know if you’ve watched Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, but I liked how Josuke’s relationship to his father was handled. When he meets his dad for the first time, the audience can clearly see his mixed feelings – anger, resentment, anticipation, shyness – and there’s an entire episode dedicated to these two strangers trying to get over their complicated feelings and form a semblance of a bond. Afterwards, it feels like they both decide to just keep trying to be a father and a son, instead of speedrunning to this loving, familial bond.
The space whale was Voltron’s attempt at that, and I think we can all agree that that was a huge mistake and lazy writing. But even if there had been no space whale, I don’t think that would have made it better. I kind of wish Keith had chosen not to forgive her for leaving, and that he’d given her back the luxite blade she left him. I know it seems like a dramatic gesture, but it would have told the audience that we are more than our blood and our past. It would have symbolized him choosing to take control of his own destiny. It would have also told the audience that sometimes, it’s OK not to forgive those who hurt you and that you can still move on. That family can be found… not literally, but figuratively. What he was looking for was right there all along.
The best scenario for me? That, once the war is over and all is said and done, Keith finally accepts to give Krolia a chance. I would have simply left that relationship open-ended for the audience to interpret as they want.
I feel like maybe we brushed on Krolia, but never really delved into anything yet, at least not to this degree.
But I agree. With basically everything you've said here. (Although unfortunately I have not watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure because…well, honestly I just really don't like the art style and it's super distracting).
Here's the thing about Krolia.
She embodies one of my least favorite tropes in a weird sort of way.
Did you ever read a book or a series and then got really excited because you found out the author was writing a new series set in the same world with the same characters, just a couple years in the future? I used to get excited for that, until I found out that apparently it's a sure thing that if the main character from the original series you grew to know and love has children in the following series…they are 100% guaranteed to be the person with the absolute least maternal/paternal nature in existence. I despise that trope, because it devalues that original character by turning them into someone who abandons/ignores/never has time for their kids. And that's not a role model.
In a weird way Krolia fits the bill as if she had been the main character of a series prior to VLD, and now she was returning as Keith's estranged mom who was never really meant to be a parent in the first place.
And, well…
sigh…
Some people are not meant to be parents, just as much as some people are.
And that's all I'm going to say about that.
But back to the subject at hand, Krolia was never mother material.
But the one thing I always appreciated about her was that she was consistent. They never wrote her as maternal. She didn't swoop in and immediately become a housewife and a mom. She was a spy and a warrior, and that's what she was always going to be. And I can appreciate that her leaving Keith was a very in character decision for her.
And honestly would Keith's life have been better if she had stayed? Knowing what we know of Krolia and how she was as a person…is that what Keith would have needed growing up? Would it have even made a difference?
I think the one thing we can all agree on, though, is that we wish we could have seen any kind of interaction or conversation with Keith and Krolia on the space whale. We wish we could have seen them actually talking it out and experiencing the memories together in the Quantum Abyss – learning about each other, and their lives apart.
And yes, a huge part of that should have been Keith's journey to (potentially begrudging) acceptance.
Should he have forgiven her for her abandonment? No. It literally was the root of all his issues and insecurities. But could he have come to an understanding on why she did what she did, as he slowly learned who she was as a person? That's definitely possible, and would have been better for character development.
That kind of journey would have been great for Keith because it would have been focused on self acceptance – and also, like you put so well, anon – it could have lead to the idea that he could decide who he considered family. He could make his own family (with blackjack and hookers), and he could be his own person. Just as Krolia was very much her own person.
What anon said here is very good and well put, so I'm going to leave my own response at that (especially before I get onto a…relevant tangent…). But I am gonna link this here, because I adore this fic, and it does a very good job at Krolia's character and her own journey of sorts. It's definitely worth a read, if you haven't read it already:

This show is only nominally a BL, what it really is is a gangster/bodyguard lakorn that just happens to have a gay romance as one part of the plot, and when I rotate the lens to watch it with an eye toward the drama in addition to the romance, a lot of the choices feel less odd and more deliberate. There's a pattern that's unfolding here, two playbooks of tropes that are playing out in counterpoint. I've only been considering one and confused by the other, when they need to be read together to make sense. Now do I think Jojo entirely has a handle on what he's trying to do here? Not quite. I think he's gotten a bit wrapped up in the tribute he's trying to do to 90s gangster lakorns to the point that he's gotten a bit lost in the weeds on the emotional beats of the story. It's starting to feel less homage and more pastiche. Did Jojo intend to make something that would line up on the shelf with those lakorns he watched as a teen, or did he want to tell a story about two boys falling in love that evoked the same vibe, but existed stylistically in the now? I can't tell from what he's put on screen, and I think that's why I'm a little frustrated with this show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because for three parts of this episode, nothing felt like it was working for me, and then Palm got in that bath and started drinking and crying, and then Palm kept drinking and danced with Neung and cried and kissed him and held him and Neung understood everything and just did whatever Palm wanted. And that, that got me. That's what I came here for, that's what I thought Jojo wanted to show us: two boys falling in love, stuck in an impossible situation, and trying to do what's best for each other, trying to keep each other alive. But that's only one part of the story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel very strongly about meeting a story where it is and judging it on how well it does what it's trying to do, not on what I want it to do, so I'm really struggling with this one despite enjoying elements of it. In Ben and Chopper specifically, I think I might have hit my limit on going with it this week. Using them for plot mechanics to move the story forward does make sense for a side couple, but Chimon and Perth are so good and the characters are so richly and deeply drawn that I wanted differently. I'm not sure I like Ben finding out what's happening by happenstance and threatening Chopper to rat out his dad rather than that happening as a character moment for Chopper as his guilt/worry consume him. It feels a bit deus ex machina for things to unfold like this, for his dilemma to become externalised and for Ben to be the one who externalised it.
Tumblr media
Neung's decision to leave on the other hand feels like a turning point that came entirely from him. Because we've seen him lose and lose and lose, as one by one the people who he loves and who love him put their bodies between him and his enemies. He's traumatised. He's enraged. And he needs to take control of his life because if he doesn't, he can't protect anybody he loves from the wolves at the door. Mam's death was the last straw, because it means NOBODY in his life is safe with him burying his head in the sand and pretending he can have whatever life he wants. Mam was as far away from Bangkok and the hell of his life as a person could be, but she's dead because she loved him and wanted to protect him. In his mind, she's dead because of him. So he comforts Palm in a way that only he could, because who else could possibly understand watching your parent die right in front of you, what that does to you? Who else could do for Palm in that moment the exact thing he needed? But he already knows he has to leave him, now, because he can't let anybody else die for him, especially not Palm. Neung won't let anybody else put their body between him and his enemies, enough is enough. It's time for him to fight his own battles, to accept the legacy he has never wanted.
Stray Bullets
Pond in part 4/4 tapped into something in that bath scene and that dance scene that's deeper than I've ever seen him go before. It's the best acting I've ever seen from him.
The plot is setting up Neung and Chopper as allies in bringing Kit down I think, and I like the idea of the angst that could come from that because I think Neung will want revenge and Chopper will beg for mercy for his father.
Death odds for Thanya just went up because Neung does have to think he's alone for where I think this is going to work. I think she'll wake up first and give him a last push and a goodbye.
I don't think Ben and Chopper will be together in this story, maybe a hopeful ending for them rather than a happy ending.
The sun bracelet and the story it represents is what Palm thinks is his and Neung's fate, and god I love Palm so much because despite everything, despite his entire life he's still an optimist, still an innocent, he still believes love can conquer all.
Cowherd and weaver girl is what Neung thinks is his and Palm's fate, but I think he has counted out Palm's devotion. He has his own choices to make, and just like Neung he won't let anybody make those choices for him anymore. I think in the end, that will be how they finally become equals.

Formaggio anon again. When you say Formaggio's arc was butchered by DP…I get what you mean, but respectfully, I disagree. I do know that the framing of that scene in the anime vs the manga does seem different. Manga Formaggio seems angry and justs wants to hurry up and get the information out of Narancia, while anime Formaggio starts going a bit "crazy" while talking to him, but they both say the same lines. In the past, I have seen someone make the claim that anime Formaggio comes off as someone who's only in it for the money, I just don't see it. Maybe this is just my personal preference, but I actually like it when Formaggio's a bit unhinged. This is Jojo after all, everyone is like that in one way or another. I also don't think he's always like that, he can absolutely be cold and professional when he needs to (after all, he's pretty two-faced). I just think him being unhinged when he's Really Fucking Pissed Off is interesting to me. But…perhaps it's not very accurate to his facial expressions in the manga, so that's why people are split on it. And I get that. I dunno, I just like all versions of him!!
Welcome back! I see where you are coming from, and I agree that all versions of Formaggio have something to offer, so the more we have of him, the better maybe?
But just to be safe, when I said that his anime character arc was butchered, I didn't just mean about his being characterized as more unhinged, which honestly seems fine if you have only watched the anime and have no reference to the manga, or the anime's choice of handling that part appeals to you more. I watched the anime first for all parts of JJBA so far (and have not read much of the manga beyond getting some way into Vento Aureo), so I would have accepted this at face value had I not been privy to a die-hard Formaggio fan lamenting all the changes that occurred. I did think at the time that his color palette was terrible in comparison to most of the characters, and when I saw how that bottle scene went originally, I felt a stronger dislike to how DP handled Formaggio.
However, what I really took issue with at the end was something that I actually made a passionate twitter thread about, which I will link here in case you want to read the whole. I will quote the part I'm referring to, the biggest issue I had with the anime adaptation:
i present to you: formaggio acknowleding narancia, and telling him he will tell his team how hard he fought when he finds them (and kills them). present in both translations, which means it definitely reflects the original's intent! and it's left completely out of the anime!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is huge, for two reasons. one, formaggio comfortably expresses this respect. in the course of fighting, he and narancia had become equals. and formaggio also knows how important groups are. he takes pride in his own! so he knows they are important to narancia! (...) do you know who does this same thing? who stops mid-fight to openly acknowledge his opponent's skill and show respect, and who is allowed to have this moment in the anime? prosciutto. (...) and so it is a shame that the anime left out a moment that shows formaggio is capable of being just as genuine. he shows the same respect prosciutto does, and it is not even framed as an apology like prosciutto's acknowledgement is! it is a gesture offered freely!
THIS is my biggest beef with anime Formaggio - that he was denied this. I don't touch upon it in the thread I think, though I only skimmed it, but even Illuso is allowed a moment where he tells Abbacchio that he's got a good teammate in Giorno. Even Illuso can have a moment where we see that he can appreciate camaraderie and support when he sees it, and he is gracious enough to remark on it! Why DP denied Formaggio his gesture is therefore beyond me, and that is why I believe that for some reason the production team just didn't like him.
Anyway, I recommend the thread I linked because I really do go into more detail about everything and gush about Formaggio!

out of all the chapters you wrote so far do you have a favourite?
You can pretty much tell which are my favorites based on how much art is in them, but my absolute favorite has got to be is either [33] or [34] because I've been wanting to write those scene since not long after I started posting the fic :3 The flirting, the doming Sinbad, the 'oh' moment finally happening. I have a bunch of favorites for different reasons. They are more groups of chapters since I tend to write 2-3 chapters at a time and have to figure out how to break them up for posting.
My favorite chapters in chronological order:
Chapter [4] & [5] are special because it was writing that version that made me want to start posting. I already posted the Dead End version of ch4, and I'll be doing the same with 5 soon. I'm trying to figure out how I want to handle the art since it's very talk heavy.
Chapter [9] has to be listed because it's the start of the first arc I couldn't shut up about to my family. Writing about my health issues was a big deal for me. It greatly helped me in respecting my own limits and letting myself rest. I over a bit more metical trauma every time I write about Mori being sick.
Chapter [11] is the first chapter I felt the need to turn almost completely into a comic. It was very much about the joy of unmasking around my favorite characters and nerding out X3
Chapter [15] is also a fave for having some of my favorite jokes and references in it, and it's also nerding out. It was really fun all the way through.
Chapter [24] is super special to me because it is the first chapter where the characters changed my plans so far I basically went on hiatus. Sinbad and Ja'far doing that much math was not in the plans and honestly, it's part of why I take so extra long between chapters now. I'm having to pull plot points that weren't supposed to happen until after Sinbad comes back from the Kou Empire.
Chapter [25] is another that I was just so happy with because of the jokes and references. I also used it as an excuse to study Jojo's more in recreating that Rohan scene using Mori UwU
The whole Gender, Jewelry, & Flirting arc [28] [29] [30] is extra special to for it being my coming out chapters. I thought I was going to have to introduce the concept of transness to the world before I found the side comic that showed the okama (Japanese gay and trans stereotype) was more than just antagonists in the canon. So much of chapters 28 & 29 were things I didn't think I'd be able to explore for several more years. I did get a ton of hate comments on AO3 for saying the trans women are women and therefore Sinbad would be attracted to them. It's why ch 29 has the added reminder that this is my fic. Don't like don't read. Ch30 is one I reread often because I love how smooth I got the flirting, and it's when I finally got to give Mori Sinbad's choker :D
Since I already explained 33&34, I want to give [36] for being the chapter with the fewest about of drafts and edits. I got it in 1 and then just tweaked the wording. The way everything fell into place was beautiful and convenient. Chapters [35] & [37] were the hardest to write, so 36 being so easy between them was really nice -u- 37 was the hardest so far and took over 30 drafts -the average is 8-12.
Bonus: My Least Favorite part of the whole fic is the transition between [16] [17]. I was way too stubborn about keeping to the character count per ch limit I gave myself, and too stubborn about getting rid of certain moments to accommodate that. I tried to use Ja'far as a plot device to transition the chapters but it was a total flop. If I ever went back and rewrote sections that would be the first, followed by removing all references to my synesthesia. I've been considering doing that for a while, but I'm not sure what to do with the older versions. I don't just want to delete them. Posterity is important to me. I'll probably move the old versions of scenes being changed to the end of the chapter for those that want to (re)read them.
