Why you wanted him to know that you appreciate him. Couldn’t you just say that you approve his choice?? Are you 🏳️‍🌈?

But the Hanzo response is even better imo. (Have you ever fired a bow?) wdym by that Hanzito? Are you willing to let him try your bow? The same bow you refused to give to Baptiste??

I’ve only joined the fandom lately, I know I’m overthinking it but damn I’m in desperate need of more interactions between them. It would be even better if they actually met in canon…

Am I the only person who gets weird vibes from people who ignore Cassidy's name change like 3 years later? I don't like to make assumptions about people (and I admit, I also have my gripes about the new name don't get me started) but its-... its been 3 YEARS, why are you getting upset?

Idk maybe I'm biased-- sincerely someone who changed their name 8 years ago and still have people who ignore it because they didn't feel like it was necessary.

Hi there, I was wondering if you saw any picture of Doomfist and Reyes in the Declassified book? Also, does it mention anything new about Cassidy's recruitment into Blackwatch re: Reyes/Amari? Thank you in advance!

Yes! When Doomfist is arrested we are given this image of Reyes interrogating Doomfist.

In the book it says that Reyes interrogated him often in order to get something he could use against Talon, but these never resulted in anything of use.

Now, as far as Cassidy, he wasn't so much recruited as he was already there when Blackwatch was formed. When he was arrested, the deal Reyes gave him was to join Overwatch proper, as Blackwatch wasn't a full operation yet. At that time, it was basically just Gabe and Gerade doing some shady shit sometimes, and after Cassidy signed on, he ended up joining them on their shady missions since he was already in Reyes' orbit and I guess Reyes' thought he was trustworthy enough for such missions.

As far as Ana is concerned, it's heavily implied that Ana was involved in training Cassidy from the beginning, which is backed up by the Cassidy-Pharah interaction where Cassidy says Ana taught him how to shoot. And we're given the lovely image that I posted here.

And we know that Ana and Cassidy were close, as it's been said that the only times Cassidy has spoken of his family, he was referring to Ana and Fareeha Amari.

IDK where this idea that the animated shorts are just in-universe propaganda and aren't canonical came from. They absolutely are. Same goes for the comics. None of them have been retconned or decanonized.

Overwatch 2: Invasion: Lore Compilation - Genji

I have maybe 30 minutes on Genji out of 1695 hours on this game, so unlocking this lore was quite an undertaking 💀

I think it's sweet that Genji is still so close with Zenyatta, and that he runs everything by him. It's interesting that this arguably makes him the most knowledgeable Overwatch agent wrt Null Sector and what's going on with Ramattra.

I can't wait to see how the Zenyatta mission from the next PVE drop plays out!

A random question just popped into my head.

Did Genji and Hanzo attend normal school or were they homeschooled? and if they were homeschooled where they properly homeschooled so that they have qualifications? or do they like legally not have any form of credentials?!

Going if the path of no credentials....that is probably why they can't get any jobs apart from assassins... Because we know they're educated it's just whether legally they have the documents saying they have their education.

Because I can imagine that the clan just homeschooled all the children in the clan and then part of the curriculum would be the ninja training ,which they prioritized. I can imagine they both speak multiple languages because that would be ideal foreign trading. And we already know Hanzo is amazing at geometry.

Similar note, did Cassidy ever get that education considering he ran off and joined/founded a gang as a young teen. I imagine personally that when OverWatch found out Cassidy didn't have the formal education they made sure he got it, at least enough to graduate high school. But if they didn't, and didn't know he didn't have the qualifications, is he in the same metaphorical boat that Hanzo and Genji are were they just can't get any other job anywhere cuz they don't have the bare minimum to get any regular job and can only be assassins?!

Is Gerard alive in the Mirrorwatch universe and if he’s alive than that means that Ana could have possibly been brainwashed into killing her husband Sam do you think the mirror watch version of Widowmaker is better than the normal talon version?

In voice lines it is confirmed that MW!Gerard is still alive and most likely still an Overwatch agent (cause there is no way in hell that man is a civilian), it's also confirmed in voice lines that Ana did betray Sam in this universe. Likely meaning that she killed him.

Though something interesting to note is that not only is it implied that MW!Ana used to be an Overwatch agent, but there is no indication that she's been brainwashed. Actually there seems to be more of an argument that Reinhardt is the one that's brainwashed with is line of "You hold my leash no longer" when he eliminates Ana and the fact that his skin is called Fallen Knight. There is also the consideration that though MW!Ana sees emotion as a weakness, she hasn't had them dulled or removed.

In all honesty, though MW!Ana seems to very much be in Widowmakers role, personality wise she seems more like Moira, as well as her motives being similar to Doomfist with a lot of her voice lines talking about how the world has grown weak and complacent, along with her line "I chose greatness, you chose failure". It's also implied that whatever was done to Rein in the world, it was done by Ana, not only because of Reinhardt's line but also one of Ana's own; "Mind yourself Reinhardt. You're still of use to me."

As for MW!Ameile being better then Widowmaker? Absolutely. I've talked about the problems with Widow's fighting style before butthe main problem and the main thing that holds her back is that her fighting style isn't personalized. It's all Talon training and the few moments it isn't are the moment when she actually hits her shots. So with Amelie not being brainwashed and only having a few augmentations, that being her eyes, cause not only is one of them a prosthetic but her eyes are still yellow in this world, meaning Moira did something to her eyes at the very least. It means that Amelie would incorporate more of her own style into her fighting, specifically I think MW!Amelie's fighting style looks more like dancing then fighting.

Also even though it's not really implied and it might be a stretch, but if MW!Ana was previously working for Overwatch, It's highly likely that Ana trained Amelie in this universe. So yeah, I think that Captain Lacroix would easily be a better sniper and fighter then Widowmaker, however, she would not be the better assassin.

in the wake of ramattra’s introduction, i have. thoughts.

if ramattra knew zenyatta when they were both students under mondatta, that means he knows zen's past, too

i always headcanoned that mondatta was the only one who ever knew zenyatta fully.

canon supports me in this, that zenyatta tries to open up to genji but its hard. he's so cagey always.

we have voicelines of his teasing about his past that he doesn’t say. and we have a new reinhardt, zenyatta and genji interaction where rein asks for zenyatta’s past, who he was before, and zenyatta’s line in reply is randomized, and then genji says something like ‘he didn’t tell me either!’

which shows he’s not even open about himself with the student he loves so dearly. but.

ramattra probably knows, as mondatta did.

the delicious angst of having someone who knows who u are who is still alive but. far away and untouchable, who is 'opponent', in this case. null sector.

mondatta is dead, and ramattra is an 'enemy'

and they're the only ones who know zen

and we didnt get shit from zen bcs he's cagey and we, the viewers, cannot know him when he won't even open up to genji, but ramattra does, and through him we will know more about zen is actually

such a delicious choice to make

im less upset about learning about zenyatta’s past through another character, from this lens, where before i was a bit annoyed that we don’t get any zen lore from himself but had to wait for the introduction of someone else.

no. i kind of get it if it’s like this. its poetic. zenyatta is still not ready to open up about himself, so we’ll have to see him through someone who knew him well, and. mondatta is dead so... all we have is. ramattra.

also, side thought:

what if talon tried to get to the shambali monastery and attacked zen in the vague lore event we saw back when ovw2 was still in production, specifically to get zen so talon will have ramattra's cooperation?

if ramattra and zenyatta used to be as ‘close as brothers’ in the past, it’d make sense there would still be softness between them

I remembered once again a certain voiceline between Ashe and Lifeweaver (Niran) since I decided to listen to a few of Lifeweaver interactions with a few heros and one of them was Ashe. The thing about them is that there almost similar, what they have common is that they have parental issue's like major parental issues I must say. 1 .) They both grew up unhappy with rich parents and got everything they wanted than something happens to them 2.) The both of them became criminals/wanted 3. )They want nothing to do with their parents or anyone of that factor. 4.) Both got cut off by their families wealth. Ashe also has a soft spot for Lifeweaver too, since she was talking to him about his parents though Lifeweaver explains to her he wish they would just give up on him. (even though his parents are helping him out) It pretty much stung Ashe since that's what her parents did by giving up on her. She wants him to have a chance at having a loving relationship with his parents since she never really gotten that. Though she doesn't know the full context of why he want his parents to give up on him. I really like their dynamic since usually Ashe has a fiery personality when people talk to her but when it comes to Lifeweaver she sympathises with him. She won't pry him for details on why he wants his parents to give up on him but she's giving him a warning ahead of time to be careful with that statement since it might come true.

She has no idea but the idea for that being Lifeweaver parents don't want him ending up in jail or hurt. Even though their trying to force his hand to give his biolight too Vishkar so he can come home, even though he knows that his answer to that is a simple no. I might write a small little prompt about this later on but it just reminded me of that voice line between Ashe and Lifeweaver. But yeah I just noticed that and thought it was very odd that both Ashe and Lifeweaver are very different but also somewhat similar as well.
