Bill Hader is a fucking master at his craft because two weeks ago he gave us that ending with Barry, Sally and their kid living together and we all collectively spent the whole week debating if it was a daydream or if it was real. AND THEN last week we had this crazy episode about their shitty lives together that looked like a completely different show so we all agreed that it WAS REAL that this mad lad just wrote an 8 year time jump into the last few episodes of his final season. AND THEN THIS WEEK we end the episode with Barry clean shaved and looking a bit younger, facing the man whose entire deal is that he can fuck with your head real bad and now so many of are back TO WONDERING IF THE PREVIOUS EPISODE WAS ACTUALLY REAL OR NOT?
Even though we saw Hank and Fuchs, even though we got a lot of Sally’s perspective, which should confirm that it’s a real time jump … even though we should be sure … just one final shot got us all wondering. And maybe that wasn’t even on purpose, maybe we’re all overthinking everything, but the mere fact that it got some of us doubting again is crazy to me.
Anyway crying shaking and throwing up over Bill Hader’s powerful brain right now.

I started rewatching the Hunger Games, like everyone else trust me I know, but I want to talk about one of my favorite, and I feel like kinda maybe overlooked, character. It’s Cato.
As a Career he was obviously trained to compete in the games once he turned 18, and I’m not sure if the books ever state when that training starts, but I assume it starts at least once they’re 12 (since that’s when they’re first eligible to be in the Game) and I’d say at most when they’re 8 (just bc that seems like the age most regimes start training their children) so Cato has been training to compete in the Game for 10-6 years. Then we get to the end of the 74th Game, it’s Cato and the two tributes from district 12, the outer most district, the district that is supposed to have the least chance of winning, the district that’s only ever produced 1 Victor in all 73 games. Yet here two of them are, the final three of the game all standing on the cornucopia: Cato, who was all but promised to be the Victor, and the two tributes from district 12. Then we get to where he’s holding Peeta and taunting Katniss, (and I’m not entirely sure if this scene is exactly the same in the book, bc I haven’t reread it yet), but Cato gives this monologue, and he talks about how he’s already lost, he says that he’s already dead. He has blood smeared all over his facing and dripping from his mouth (I assume he was attack by the “hellhounds” while he was getting to the cornucopia). We get to see Cato confront the possibility of death for the very first time ever, and then he pauses, looks out into the artificial night sky and yells something along the lines of “that’s what you want to hear, right?” In this moment Cato realizes that the Capitol is to blame for what is happening. He knows that it’s all about entertainment to the people of the Capitol so he realizes that his realization of death is going to be seen as nothing but entertainment. And then Katniss shoots his hand and Peeta pushes him off the Cornucopia and into the “hellhounds” and he does nothing except beg for the end. I think Cato’s death is honestly one of the saddest deaths in the film, and it portrays beautifully how despite the fact that he was a “villain” that the actual villain is the Capitol, that Cato wasn’t evil or anything at all, honestly he was just a child doing what he was raised to do, he even says that he only thing he knows how to do is kill.
TL;DR: Cato’s character sums up the just how awful the Games truly are.
