"sorry..." you said, stepping forward to peak at his monitors. he checked you out as you got closer, leaning back in his chair and arms behind his head. "you didn't respond to my text, about dinner" you whispered, trying to stay out of frame.

"oh, shit, sorry. my phones over there," he said, nodding towards the farthest end of his desk. "can you hand it to me?"

you reached for his phone and brought it over to him. you looked at his screens again, and he wrapped his arm around your hip as he opened his messages.

you stood there awkwardly, looking at his chat. you waved when you realized they were spamming your name. you paused when you felt your boyfriend start lightly squeezing your hip.

you felt your phone buzz in the front pocket of your hoodie as he set his phone down on this desk. "okay, there you go, mamas," he said, reaching his hand down to lightly tap your ass.

you looked at him with wide eyes as you shoved him playfully. "thats enough, sir," you said, trying to hide your embarrasment with a laugh.

My favorite Yandere Types

Author's note: I will spare you the sob story and just say that my uncle needed my help right after he got out the hospital. It wrecked my scheduling and I already promised that I would do better with posting more frequently, so I did another ramble post. These classifications aren't polished in any way. I just spouted whatever comes to mind. Enjoy!

Sugar Daddies

Kind of a "money comes at a price" thing I always love. 

Pro: Spoils you. 

Con: Thinks he owns your life.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the 'I'll isolate you' types. In fact, I think it'll be cooler to see a yandere use darling's loved ones to his advantage, such as "How desperate are you to get your sister into that art school?" and "It would be a shame if your brother doesn't have that dream job. I'm sure you'd do ANYTHING to make that happen if you could, right?"

Sadist/Psycho

He wakes up and chooses violence. Just an absolute menace to society. You'd have to make bad choices in your life to have him obsessed with you. I love this one, because writers can be very creative on how they act towards darling and towards the world. Typically their MO is "I wont hesitate to beat and shoot people. Not even you, darling! You just get it less."

Femboy/Otouto

My love for this is clearly inspired by Narancia (JJBA) and Bachira (Blue Lock). It's a guy who's naive, hyper, sweet, just so adorable that he'll have you thinking he's non-threatening. Then, the yanderu comes out and shows you just how dangerous and manipulative he can be. Also, he will get aggressive when you try slipping from him. I imagine this type always using overt guilt tripping.

Mr.Hades

Emo boy kidnaps a ball of sunshine to cure his lonely depression, such as Hades taking Persephone. There's not much else to say since this shipping dynamic (brooding x happy-go-lucky) is very popular. 

Laidback

The laidback yandere that dont seem Yandere at all. He's super chill, actually gives you freedoms, and seems alright letting you socialize with people. What's the issue? Seems like a normal boyfriend! That's why I love them! So where does the Yanderu part comes in? In many different ways! Usually, in the form of a blackmailer or a tracker. It's easy to let you do what you want when you're never really that far from him or he has you fearing the consequence enough to trust you'll come back to him willingly. Honestly, I might do my own post on laidback yanderes.

The Offline’s album La couleur de la mer is a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist, inspired by his long walks in the fog on the French Atlantic coast. a little spacey, a little soul, very sixties/seventies neonoir. i am quite fond of the very first track, Thème de la couleur de la mer.

im reading a trilogy i want to discuss as a whole whenever the third one comes through as a library hold, and a book by a friend. i do not typically talk about books or fics by friends here bc none of them have ever asked for critique, and i dont want to play favorites or inadvertently miss someone’s work. so here’s a story about porn on Wikimedia, which is the kind of database drama and technical arguments that fascinate me.

watching

somehow missed Star Wars Visions 2, their second anthology of weird little shorts. i was not super impressed by the overall storytelling this time around, but it was fun to see them reach out to more global studios and see a wider range of styles. there’s some goddamn incredible stop motion in here.

i particularly enjoyed Journey to the Dark Head, which not only has some interesting fringe Force believers and beliefs but has one of the sickest anime bullshit lightsaber fights in this season. this one is by Studio Mir, most known for the Legend of Korra.

also really liked The Spy Dancer by Studio La Cachette, partly bc it’s incredibly beautiful and i like when Star Wars leans into art nouveau, and partly bc it felt the most like a complete short story. emotional arc and everything! strong beginning middle and end! this IS a really low bar, but a lot of the shorts this season did not have a coherent little story to tell or a strong emotional arc, or fumbled their arc partway through, and were just kind of vibes and animation showcases? nothing necessarily wrong with that, also how i felt about most of the last collection. my expectations are underground for any Star Wars media.

as is tradition i dithered about this section the most. this is more of a What’s Next? planning ramble.

the laptop gets shipped back to my old job today so i will no longer have a working modern computer. i have to dig the switch out and see what’s up. maybe start a whole new run in breath of the wild or whatever the last pokemon game was. i think i also have the sword boyfriend game everyone was up in arms about two years ago? and i think i am somehow part of a switch family plan that lets me have some older games?

this section may look very different in the next ??? amount of time until i get a company laptop again. or finally replace the motherboard on my personal desktop but that sat in my car for several weeks during the heat wave this summer while i did not have an apartment and i am really REALLY afraid to open that box.

soup bc aldi had alphabet pasta and that jolted me out of myself for long enough i was briefly convinced making alphabet pasta soup would fix me. so i found this recipe while in aldi. despite this not being a very good soup or a very good recipe, i feel a little triumphant bc i now know enough to brown the tomato paste before putting it in the soup. unfortunately i overcooked the pasta. there’s kind of a lot of texture happening here, and i wish i had chopped things finer, but i will probably steal my best friend’s blender tomorrow and blitz some of it down.

1. Mo Ran is more in love with concept of Shi Mei than Shi Mei himself

It started to dawn on me a while back but it slowly became clearer and clearer. Like, before there could be multiple explanations of his lack of interest in Shi Mei. Because their interactions in the first book were so sweet and wholesome and njgvtfninvghbjuvif but like reading how they cleaned up the house in silence was fucking painful. It’s like he tried to convince himself he was and he is in love with Shi Mei. Maybe he never really was, maybe only after he died Mo Ran began to convince himself he always did. Maybe he saw it as more than it really was because of grief. And because he is stupid. 

2. Shi Mei is a snake isnt he

I said it in my emotional post before ab ch 74, he totally pretended to be sick. I CONSULTED ALL MY FRIENDS (what i mean by that is my bestie and my boyfriend because im a loser like Chu Wanning) AND ASKED THEM TO TELL ME IF HE WAS SUS OR NOT. The verdict wasn’t clear but as i kept reading, it became super obvious. It was soooo sus when he just casually got out of bed while he was supposedly sick, just to menacingly and mysteriously stare at Mo Ran out of the window. As if it wasn’t clear enough before when he acted like a dainty lady all of the sudden. jnfjnju i love him, but omg im scared of what that little snake would do and what is his goal. Is that Taxian-jun’s dick really that fine 

@rosemary-screams i don’t know… how much longer i can take it… how much longer i can be true to my principles… to my love… its so hard… the weight of evidence seems so overwhelming…

3. i didnt realize before that Mo Ran’s grave was under the haitang tree. Maybe that wasn’t mentioned or maybe i forgot about it by the time i realized haitang tree’s significance nvgjnvgjvg NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS MEANT when you said its obvious from the beginning he loves Chu Wanning. (i mean im still not super convinced by the narrative; that doggo Mo Ran needs to try harder to connect those two lonely neurons scattered inside that thick skull of his)

4. I dont like that it was mentioned that infatuation pills exist in this universe. I dont like how they are introduced out of nowhere. That could be literally anything. Magic viagra. Or dick enlarging pills. ANYTHING. But no. It has to be infatuation pills. I dont like the fact that it seems like those are important. I really dont like that thought.

5. Shi Mei’s resemblance to Song Qiutong has been mentioned twice by now. Basically every time she appears, Mo Ran makes sure to note how she was similar to Shi Mei. And from what I understand Butterfly-Boned clan is pretty unique in their appearance? Is Shi Mei somehow… related to that clan? Like maybe only in a tiny bit tho… Or he's just THAT pretty <3

6. That person in black at the end of vol 2 is me trying to get my ship to work

But on a serious note, what an ending, what the hell is going on. Did someone else really got reborn as well? Wasn’t it supposed to be rare? tjnfgvtfbvgfnbvgjnik And like… when Mo Ran is trying to figure out who the hell has water element from the people he knows… He basically goes through everyone from the main cast aside from Shi Mei… I CHECKED TWICE. It gives me goosebumps. But Maybe Shi Mei doesn’t have any? Like, his cultivation is super lame.

And the fact that Mo Ran forgot that whole interaction... njrigvkrhiuvrfjhiukvgnh no wonder there's gonna be like 8 books or more....

In all honesty I don’t even know what else to say, im so stunned! What the fuck is going on! I NEED BOOK 3 NOW

calling some problem with the VNC fandom, with respect. You can disagree.

Y'all really gonna make me do this hun.... With all respect it felt like a lot of the VNC fandom missed some major points. - disclaimer: I've seen the anime numerous times and have read the manga - - I dont ship anyone in the series, I'm not for or against any ship - First off! Stop hating on Jeanne just because you ship vanitas and noé! Jeanne is an excellent character, she is a strong women who is also allowed to be soft and delicate and lovesick and I love that for her!! Next off, I (personally) dont see Domi and Noé having codependency issues because the clearly spend time away from each other and have their own lives. They share a lot of their lives with each other but their also CHILDHOOD FRIENDS! Do you share things with your friends....that's what I thought. They are also grieving together over the loss of Louis because he was close to both of them. Cholé did nothing wrong? She literally lived in a castle by herself and Jean-jajhshshshe (too lazy to try to spell his whole name, sry) and the villagers got pissy and came at her, Jean only turned into the beast to try to protect her. Cholé built that wack ass piano with the intent of killing Naenia, who is the current cause of curse bearers (and then herself for her guilt). Overall she had good intent. ______________________________NOÉ TIME ________________ yes Noé has done somethings wrong but he is doing his best under the circumstance and is only 19 dont tell me you did everything perfectly at 19.

Noé isnt stupid or innocent, he is naive, it is highly likely that Teacher sheltered him in order to be his sole guild in life. It is hard to rebel against someone who is all you know. Teacher is manipulating him and Noé is slowly becoming his own person getting away from his /captor/ in a sense. the Misha arc, yes we all know blood has a sorta sexual vibe to it in vnc but it's not purely sexual. In any case Misha threated to KILL Dominique if Noè didn't take vanitas's blood. Noé then asked vanitas to just tell him or nisha instead so he wouldn't have to TAKE the info. Vanitas refused and Noé decided the somebodies life was worth more that the respect of someones memories. I totally understand how this is unfair for vanitas but look at it from literally another point of view, it's the trolley problem. Seen a lot of angry comments about Noé slashing Misha's face but did you all not notice that misha was trying to stab and even potentially kill vanitas is what felt like a desperate 'if I cant have you, mo one can' move. Look, I understand misha is still just a kid but he still knows right from wrong. He could have started by just fucking asking vanitas to come with him, but he instantly went with the murder path. I think he got out relatively easy with just a face scar when he set up a death match were many people (including this other vampires) could have been hurt or killed.

awesome. whatever off anon idc. number 1 why is it always the "OMG WAHHH SO CUTE MY LITTLE BABY >_<" people who are literally the worst. they always end up being really rude, not to mention the fact that talking in that sweet mo baby tone about fat people is really fucking weird. I'm not fat but that's pretty obvious? like come on

anyway what keeps me at an arm's distance from the selfship community is the mentality that comes from bolstering "unconditional support, no matter what". like yeah whatever, outside people think selfshipping is weird and the community works as a little space away from that. but the thing with communities is that they always generate a set of unspoken social norms, and the big one for selfship is this constant unwavering positivity and never questioning anything or getting seriously upset ever.

but this doesn't really stop people from acting like assholes, it just encourages them to hide their shittiness under this guise of being nice and cutesy and lovey-dovey. then they have their circle of mutuals who adhere to that norm of unconditional positivity and support, and so ALL of them are insanely defensive and rude to perceived threats.

anyway I think that's why there's so much barely disguised racism and sexism and fetishistic behavior and general garbage in the community specifically. it's the sense of entitlement that's pushed by the "do whatever you want, we'll support you!" mentality, that's upheld by people who don't say anything because they don't want to look mean. so shitty people can just be shitty and not face any consequences. you know? it's so middle school to me. I'm really fucking tired of selfshippers stealing/reposting my stuff and disregarding my dni on other blogs and being sexual in explicitly sfw spaces. so yeah I can see it as a space that allows people to make statements like "stupid females shouldn't be allowed to like this character because I like them! I liked them first and they're mine!" and face no repercussions.

I dunno if that makes sense, and there's definitely a lot more to it. tldr it's just this massive echo chamber of being an entitled douche and getting away with it.

MAIN fandom: overwatch. obviously.

CURRENT side fandoms that i actually think about more than coincidentally and not including shows or media that are ingrained into my psyche such as atla: demon slayer (tbh The anime of all time), 19 days (which is a manhua you’ve probably seen on my side blog i’m so not normal about them he tian and mo guan shan specifically), jeraskier fix it episode 6 of season 1 from the witcher. yes it has to be that specific because i dont care about literally anything else aside from those two fuck the whole show but they went off with them tbh.

i have more fandoms that i’m “in” but i don’t necessarily think about them as often but the media has Irrevocably changed me tm or i really enjoy it. it’s just not necessarily active in my brain atm? at some point (or if someone asks) i can list all the shows media and games i like or have opinions about beyond “that’s neat” lmao

3. a character that fandom has helped you appreciate

in overwatch? genji tbh. but it wasn’t really the fandom that helped me do that, it was specifically my friend valen who did that lmao.

but i guess also mei? i literally used to hate her sm bc her mannerisms were very similar to my ex and fresh out of my break up she just infuriated me. now i’m way more chill about her lmaoooo.

A Grotesque Perversion! I did almost bring myself to tears writing it, my beloved little baby man......

hmmmm probably You're The Sun in My Morning. That fic is ridiculously soft. Especially for something like somno kink LOL

Oh yeah baby!!! I sure do! Particularly for this fandom (Redacted Audio). After the onslaught of hate for my first pic, i decided this fandom has lost its privilege to have un-moderated comments on my fics. That has cut the messages down to almost zero tbh, but if i find a message funny enough i'd probably post it anyways lol.

9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes!!! I absolutely love writing smut. Mostly emotionally meaningful kink and violent sex. I just love sex <3

10 - Do you write crossovers?

Not as of yet. If i did it'd probably be a crossover for some of my special interests.

No, not that i know of.

No, but i would probably cry if someone liked my fic so much they wanted to translate it so more people can read it.

I am currently doing a roleplay fic with one of my best friends for the MDZS fandom! It's far from being finish, and we'll have to edit it after we're done, but we'll be posting it after then!

Geez....... they come and go, but right now i am so caught up on Vaelum, they are eating my brain on the daily.

15 - What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I doubt i will ever get past the planning stage of the David/Angel pet play fic. I have it roughly planned out, but i just dont think i'll ever be interested in the idea enough again to write it.

16 - What are your writing strengths?

Descriptions of emotions and sensations, i think. I feel like i can write a pretty eloquent descriptive sentence.

17 - What are your writing weaknesses?

hm. Flowing from one subject to another. I always have an abstract subject connected to a tangible scene in my mind thats perfectly connected and makes sense, but the moment i try to write it down, i feel like it sounds like absolute shit.

18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I could not do this with any confidence, and i probably wouldn't to begin with. I'd probably just give some indication in fic that what they are saying, they are saying in a different language lol. There is a small possibility that i would if i had a friend who spoke a different language to help me with it, but thats still a hard maybe.

okay, kths' hatred is explainable: 80% of them are tkkrs if not more

rap line stans: rl is less popular than jimin so they arrange constant pity parties against him. what is more, jk and th seem like their children while jimin??? well, i dont get their hatred as well. probably insecurity and envy that miraclously expands only to jimin.

i've never seen jin stans who really hate jimin (only shippers as taejin or jinkook and there goes my opinion that the problem with "tae" and "kook" there).

It’s not that they hate on jimin cause jk is lacking in anything (in a general sense) they just hate on him because he’s direct competition to jk. Ntm the bigotry they have in congruence towards jimin. A good chunk of jjks are tkkrs though or at least they’re attracted to th. They hide it well enough, but they’re lenient on him for that reason. It’s also because he’s not a threat to what actually matters to them which is music.

Kths are somehow convinced that jimin is the bad friend in their relationship and that’s why the CLAIM they don’t like him. (it’s pure projection 🥴 ) but yes for the most part, they don’t like jimin cause they’re th biased tkkrs.

For rapline stans it’s exactly that lol. Not “children” but they don’t really take issue with those two (outside of them thinking rl is superior artistically) since they’re “safe”, traditionally attractive in the typical male ideal and don’t upset the status quo in the group dynamic like jimin does.

Jin stans hate on jm in general. Haven’t even seen the ones that don’t like him because of shipping cause that’s never really been their MO? but they’re so few in number it’s hard to see much anything they say unless you go looking for it.

…I’ve seen quite a bit of commentary on pacing in these first 2 ep’s…

—I’m just gonna toss out there—Filoni should have taken more lessons from Team Gilroy (Andor) or Team Joss (Serenity—a movie—incidentally, based on a series that most peeps weren’t invested in, hadn’t watched, didn’t know the characters, etc; yet, when casual peeps viewed, actually found the movie overall engaging…).

—My thoughts on how pacing, and backstory could have been improved if someone actually edited scripts, before looping actors into a strange mosh of empty feeling scenes and flat, driftless dialogue, and stoic glances.

—Open with the ending of Deus Ex Baline, but from Sabine’s perspective. —Fading to present day, either at Freedom Day ceremony already, as she/Sabine is listening to empty praises, or already gazing at Ezra’s message—the feeling that she’s done this 1000x over a decade communicates in seconds that there’s a bond there, of some sort. And it’s significant. THEN, she gets summoned to the ceremony-weariness of disillusionment in her expression—and we have a reason why she decides to shaft out, triggered by the superficiality of commemoration, or the hollowness that, for all the sacrifice of the Rebellion, the NewRepublic, after 10 years, was falling short of restoring what was hoped in expectation since the defeat of the Empire. She returns to her home, picks up the saber, and mentions something about having failed his memory, and her training… —Transitioning to the next scene of the Baylin/Shin freeing MorganElsbth on Republic ship…Elsbeth, as they’re rocketing off to next destination, mentioning Ahsoka, Thrawn, or both-why or what they’re off to pursue…

—Transition to Ahsoka finally, doing whatever she’s doing (frankly-her opening scene ought to have been merged with some kind of flashback, relating to Sabine, frankly, the training, whatever kind of breach occurred between them)—juxtaposed with her current mission retrieving that holocron-Mappy Thing…and go from there…

—Alternatively, the opening crawl perhaps, might have detailed the outcome of Lothal, Ezra-Thrawn-Imperial Fleet zapped into Deus Ex Baline (I hate that plot device, but whatever, space balines are part of the thread, so…hmmph), the sacrifice of the Rebel group, and the decade having left them scattered to various destinations and roles, with the Empire mo longer a threat after Endor, but new threats uncovered by a few vigilant heroes who aren’t so convinced of the Republic’s triumph continue to haunt distant realms of the Galaxy…

—or, a WhamBamOpening full of dire portent—an opening like that of LotR/Fellowship of the Rings (the actual GOOD movie from 2001), relating to a Dathomir sister, perhaps a particular Nightwitch having uncovered an ancient magic/power millennia before—dark experiments that led to a corruption of life and death, that wove itself into something uncontained to the point where the larger group of Nightsisters were forced to such stretches of enchantment and power draw to contain the evil they woke, that while they were ultimately successful, they were consumed by their own effort of dark power against the looming threat. Have the looming threat relate to Darth Sion (since, it seems, much to my dismay, there’s Filoni, mining Legends material and deploying it into a paler shade of itself to serve the purpose of his own plot device, and stripped of most of the originating richness—see his treatment of Thrawn), and the fact that some kind of gateway across space to *whatever threat* while sealed by these ancient enchantresses, still whispered to those who carried the song in their blood. Enter—Elsbeth in the opening scene where she gets rescued…

—*sigh*—I’m not a damn script writer, and these are really just my own musings of how ‘Ashoka’s’ writing is a lesson on *show-dont-tell*. They have so much good material, but this kind of story-telling is just more refined than what it seems the current production team is capable, or Disney cares to invest the effort for better drafting and editing of their script, and over narrative before the move to actual filming…
