Asjlkhdkgkd I'm so glad you liked it!! I had fun putting a little story into that one ^^

And, because I am normal and don't think about these guys for hours every day, here's some backstory:

When Cross first joined, Killer actually took to him pretty quickly (Dust and Horror did not get warm welcomes). Which is to say he immediately started flocking to Cross to annoy him and compete with him on missions. Cross didn't have the benefit of knowing Killer already to see these were affectionate annoyances, so to him Killer was just some guy who had a problem and wouldn't leave him alone.

During that mission, Nightmare was calling a retreat when he put a hand to his chest and realised the heart locket was gone. Killer saw him looking all around frantically and had a good idea what was lost, since it was the one thing Cross would absolutely not part with since he joined. So, Killer ran back out towards the stars to look for it, because why learn self preservation now. It was the first thing to convince Cross that Killer actually was being (relatively) friendly, despite all the annoyances.

Okay I've been thinking a little too much about Chappell Roan songs so here's a little angst AU based on the song Casual:

In middle school Kenneth died, giving Travis a few years of freedom to unpack his internalized homophobia.

By the end of HS Travis and Larry start to have a situationship, but Travis likes to think that it's more than that and that they'll be oficially together very soon because everything they do is so romantic, except he's always being kept as a secret.

And a few months afterwards they call it off 'cause Travis realises they'll never be more than that.

(Reason: Larry didn't have the courage to date someone that hurt his friends and brother so much in the past. Now, they obviously wouldn’t be buddy buddy w/ Travis immediately - except for Sal, he would immediately be best friends w/ him - but at this point they all know that he was just a very stuck up gay guy w/ an abusive pastor as a father, so they don't really hate him, especially since he hadn't really interacted w/ them since middle school).

Well, a few years later they move to a new city and guess who's there?? Travis. He's in college and works as a server.

Old feelings resurface and they're both pinning for each other but Travis is too hurt and bitter to give it a chance, Larry is very sorry and doing his best to woo him once again while being super jealous of Travis w/ his male friends who are very touchy (they want to see Larry sufer lol).

Anyways, because I love a good hurt/comfort they obviously would have a happy ending.

I'll never write this but maybe I'll draw something about it later.

I could fill 1,000 pages with all the things Kaeya doesn't say to Diluc, tbh. 8') Kaeya's always doing everything he can to avoid those exact conversations, which is partially why he didn't miss a beat going back to his playful, teasing ways as soon as Diluc came back to Mondstadt. He teases and taunts to hide the fact that his heart was irreparably broken when things fell apart between them.

The simplest way to put it is that Kaeya's feelings towards Diluc are an endless slew of contradictions. He desperately wants Diluc back in his life, but is terrified of letting him get too close and risking the same hurt and abandonment all over again. He admires Diluc in so many ways, but can't help but be afraid of him. He still cares for Diluc so deeply, but hates that he does at the same time. He wants to fix everything they had, but doesn't think Diluc will ever truly forgive him—and doesn't think he deserves forgiveness.

IT'S A HUGE MESS and it hurts my heart so much asldjfkd T^T Kaeya's literally an ice onion asdljfs HE'S A DISASTER THAT HAS LAYERS. Even if you manage to chip away one layer, there's always going to be another underneath. The outermost is the flawless sheet of ice that sparkles in the sun: the facade that hides all of Kaeya's real feelings. Beneath that, there are layers upon layers of sharp icicles that keep everyone at a distance: all the bitterness, betrayal, hurt, fear, loneliness, anger. But at Kaeya's heart, deep down under everything else, there are the simplest truths:

He wants to apologize.

He wants to ask if he can finally come home.

He wants to tell Diluc that he never stopped caring. That he never will stop caring.

But he's too afraid to voice any of it. He's too cold, too broken, too unworthy to even know how to try. ;^; ))

I think a lot of mischaracterization of Sirius started with OOTP- we are told constantly in that book that he's childish and reckless and I think some popular fanfics took that and ran with it (also the trope of a fun uncle is popular and Sirius slots in there well.) I don't think he's been re-interpreted to the same extent as other characters because a lot of fans seem to conceive of Sirius more in terms of his relationships with others rather than as a character on his own, I have noticed.

hello anon! i rly appreciate this input because it does make sense. throughout ootp, sirius gets a *very* different rep. and i’ve been talking about this in a server- but his regression as compared to him in gof is so obvious and so heartbreaking. there’s very real reasons for why he became more broody, why he snapped once at harry, but all of that being boiled down into ‘childish prank-loving idiot’ makes it even worse.

and the part about him being conceived in terms of his relationships is really interesting too! i know i’m definitely guilty of that with how much i harp on about james and sirius, and the whole moral compass thing (that i kind of ran away with lol i promise i have more nuance re that than i usually show) so i can see how that affects who he is and diminishes his core traits as well.
