Summary: You have been having an extremely hard time for a few weeks, but today was just the one day that topped them all... So Ricky had to step in before he lost you to yourself.

Hello everyone! I finally have completed my very first ZB1 fanfic and have truly become an official writer of Zumblr! This work has a lot of my emotions or feelings into it and was very self-indulgent when thought of. As many of my previous followers may have noticed, I’ve changed my user to “rickyschicky.” Yes, I’m going to mainly be writing about ZB1 from now on, but no I’ll still write for other groups/idols. But they most likely will be my ult biases or Idols that have a special place in my heart. This fic is coming out a lot later than I originally wanted it to due to a lot of personal things happening in my life. Now that this is released, I’ll be working on a proper pin that has a proper about me, rules for the blog, rules for asks and even an anon list for those who wish to SECRETLY stick around! Im very excited to have my fresh start, so perceive me well, pretty please! Feedback is always appreciated, and if you see mistakes don’t be afraid to send me a DM!

Cup. Pop. Gulp.

     This routine was normal for you, a dreaded ritual if anything. If you didn’t do this every morning and night, you know your life would be in shambles and unlivable. Curling into your favorite (F/C) blanket, you let out a sigh of emptiness as your feet mindlessly kick around in it. 

Managing depression, sucks.

     Mindlessly watching whatever was playing on the tv, the heart inside of your chest sunk deeper and deeper. Yet anything you put on couldn’t entertain you, not even rewatching your favorite shows. You can’t decide what’s worse; not remembering how many days it’s been since this started, not eating or hydrating enough, or the fact that you have shut all your friends out with your boyfriend being the very next one. You hear your best friend’s custom ringtone blare though your phone speakers at least twice a day, but you couldn’t help but sigh and say, “not today, (F/N)”. Everything from blaring sounds to the soft fabric currently on your fingertips felt like it was hardly there. Your body feels like over-used putty, numb and worn out from so much usage. It’s impossible though, it has felt like you haven’t moved from this spot in months. Who knows the actual time you even were here on the couch of you and your lover’s shared house.

     It’s pitiful how you couldn’t even jump from surprise when Ricky touches your head softly, “I’m home, squirt. I’m sorry I was out late, I wanted to finish getting a certain verse right.’ Only humming in response, you sit up and turn the tv down in an attempt to listen to him. By all means it wasn’t because you weren’t interested, it's far from that. It’s just hard to control your fuzzy mind and have it focus on something emotional at this moment in time. He didn’t like the lack-of response he received, gracefully walking over and sitting next to your cocooned form.

     “(Y/N), honey. Please look at me.” You tear your gaze from the random spot you decided to zone out on and look into his gentle, cat shaped eyes. They were full of concern and distress. You almost hated how he could easily read you like an open book just by the way you act or look. 

     “Sweetie don’t start crying, I am far from mad at you. I just want you to talk to me, tell me what you feel.” Ricky takes no time in using his large thumb to brush away the tears that unknowingly fell from your lash line. He lets his long arms wrap around your figure, pulling you into his comforting lap. 

     The first thought you could even think of through the numerous tears was ‘why am I like this?’. Feeling disgusted with yourself, you choke out a sob harder and limply lay your head on his shoulder. You take your medicine day and night as prescribed, so why are you still feeling like a hollow doll that’s incapable of nothing? Even in the love of your life’s arms, you couldn’t feel an ounce of happiness.

     Ricky sensed this, pulling your chin up and bringing you into a sweet and gentle kiss as he whispers soft praises of how strong you are. “Hey hey hey, don’t work yourself up too much (Y/N). We both know we will feel like shit, and I’ll call Hanbin to let him know I can’t come in to practice because you are just sooo sad.” He gives a cute pout, tickling your sides in mockery. Through your tears, you let out a huff that quickly turns into a squeal. You quickly throw your fists up and start lightly punching him in his wide shoulders and chest in an attempt to get his fingers away from your sensitive sides.

     “The last thing I need is for you yelled at by mother, Shen Ricky.” You scold, feeling a breath of life flow through your veins. It was hard to be upset when he acts silly or in this case: say something utterly stupid and cute. He chuckles, noticing how you were starting to change right before his eyes. He knew he had to continue before you slip back. 

     “Well, I can always bring you to practice?” 

     “Ricky, WakeOne literally won’t let me, even if you beg.”

     You sit in silence before just snorting at his antics. You shimmy out of the blanket and take care to put it around you and him, straddling his lap so you can lay your head on his collarbone right under his chin. Soon your body melts as you go limp once more. Ricky quickly accepted this new position by wrapping his arms around your lower back snugly, giving many annoying kisses to your temples and forehead. He felt you changing again and wanted to halt the process. Deciding this was too annoying right now, you attempt to pull the blanket above your head. Not liking this, your boyfriend quickly grabs the blanket with his teeth and starts tugging on it playfully, tickling your sides ferociously.  

     “What are you, a dog?” 

     “Actually, I’m a cat.”

     You don’t waste a second to jab your hand in his side, hearing him whimper for you to let up and be gentle. He sighs, giving up and letting you hide under the soft fabric, rocking your curled up form that was on his lap. After being together for a while, he knew your limits and when to stop. You just wanted someone to physically be there for you today, so that’s what he will do. Slowly moving the blanket off the top of your head, he gently clears his throat to sing for you in his mother tongue. You voiced to him before you loved hearing him sing so comfortably in his first language and even encouraged him to teach you a few songs in Chinese. 

     Not soon after you were about to pull the blanket over your head, you heard his deep, breathy voice fill your ears. Stopping your current action, you tuck your hair behind your ears so you could hear him clearly (even if you couldn’t understand a single thing coming from his lips), and let your head lay heavy on his shoulder. Sure, Ricky could be a total annoying brat when he wanted to be, but times like this are when you are the most thankful for him. You felt at one of your lowest points and instead of running or simply saying, ‘suck it up’, he stuck around and tried to learn how to take care of you and cheer you up. He took his time learning your needs, favorite activities and foods, and even points of his personality you enjoyed the most. You were his rose, freshly bloomed and bright red with an addicting scent. His romance, the one that made his heart fall in his stomach and bounce of his rib cage with a simple stare and gentle laugh. If he could, you would be carried everywhere in his pocket wherever he traveled. Ricky truly loved you, just for who you are.

     Not a second after he finished the song, you were wiping tears. You didn’t know what tears they really were at this point. You felt numb, but you at least felt something now compared to earlier. Sitting up carefully, you rub your raw puffy eyes to attempt to see him. Blinking rapidly, you saw he had a gentle smile on, your second favorite smile. Nothing could beat his largest, brightest smile he gives when he is bursting with happiness. Leaning over, you connect your sore lips with his thick, plush ones. Ricky’s chest rumbled smoothly under your hands that were propping you up, humming with the small show of affection. 

     “That’s my girl, so pretty even when she is the saddest soul on the planet.” He coos, large hands once again cupping your jaw tenderly. His eyes were sparkling, looking like the softest pieces of boba you have laid your own eyes on. Everything that exuded him at this moment spoke of love and truth. You lay your smaller hands ontop of his, enjoying the warmth of them. 

     “Maomao, let’s go to bed...I’m just really tired after today.” You confess, guilt laced in your voice. His thumb brushed your lip to hush you, smiling sweetly. 

     “There is nothing wrong with that, my darling. Let’s get some good rest and wake up to a new day. Together.” Your boyfriend promises, gently moving his hands to securely hold your thighs as he stands up and starts walking to your shared bedroom. He lays you down like royalty on the bed, swinging you in properly and tucks you in. By the time you were able to focus your eyes, he vanished from the room. 

     After a few minutes, you hear a familiar rattle come down the hallway as he slips in the room once again. He kneels by the bed a water in hand, and a yellow tinted bottle with a white cap on top. Sleepily, you grab the bottle and twist it open, smiling when you see the water bottle already opened and offered towards you.

Cup. Pop. Gulp.

         Managing depression, sucks.

Hello!!! (This is Kat lol, I can't send my from secondary blog, sigh.) Totally hijacking the Ling talk, but that train scene with Ed getting all frustrated over Ling being taller than him is a fucking HOOT. 10/10 fav. On another note on the manga... I might be supremely biased against Brotherhood cuz I'm an 03 girlie, but I have to agree about the manga being better than brotherhood too. I esp prefer the Elrics' and Izumi's relationship in the manga. They have all these little moments together that show she's more than just a teacher to them. Like, one of my FAVORITE moments is when Ed and Al start bragging to Izumi, as a child does to their mother, how they've been following her teachings of "to train the mind, train the body," and the panel then cuts to Izumi smiling proudly at them. It's fucking EVERYTHING to me.

Talking about fma03, I need to be honest and said I used to be a die-hard hater because I'm a Ling Yao fanboy sorry Im guilty BUT few months ago I began to become very fond of it and to understand that there really is nothing wrong with it being so far from the original story. I'm a new person now, a fma03 defender and fmab hater 🗣️ But I am glad that we all agree with the manga being top.

I'm dying to read the Dublith arc!! I want to see more of the Elrics and Izumi because if I remember right, in fma03 they feel more like a family than just teacher-student and I miss that. I want to see the moment you are talking about!!! It sounds so 😭😭😭 they are just kids who want a mom 🥲

But yeah- seeing your posts on Amane makes me happy because though I would like to talk more about her a certain other character occupies 90% of my brainspace. Also I feel like that being a child character meant that she was very much ignored and reduced down to a few traits before, like you see so many people fixated on pretty much every other MILGRAM character but not that same thing for Amane and she gets sadly overlooked, so seeing you fill that niche around the time of The Purge March and give her the attention she so deserves is :). Also seeing you talk about Amane so freely on your blog encourages me to do the same about my faves because I tend to worry that some things I write are too off-base or self-indulgent.

And I really like Es Quest (maybe I’m biased because I love interactive choose-your-own-adventure mystery type games) because I think there should always be more fan works that remix the original medium to this degree and it’s awesome to see the hard work you put in and it inspires me to do the same. I don’t interact with other people’s stuff as much as I would like to, but I just want to tell you how awesome the stuff you make is and how great your contributions are to this fan space as a whole :thumbs up:

Hey, I'm the OP of the post you discuss here. I didn't write that post in any of those contexts you bring up, I wrote it in response to seeing people talk about disabilities or being disabled and then classifying disabilities into "physically disabled" and "neurodivergent", rather than "physically disabled" and "mentally disabled" (although the distinction wasn't even necessary for the specific post that inspired my vent). It doesn't have anything to do with specific communities, and I'm genuinely a bit lost about where all of this is coming from when I made that post out of mild annoyance that people will use "neurodivergent" as if it's always interchangeable with "mentally disabled", when mental disabilities are just some of many neurodivergencies. I wasn't annoyed about the neurodivergent community or the terms people use for themselves – I was annoyed by how people use the term as half of a binary for disabilities instead of, y'know, actually focusing on disabilities. It feels like it does a disservice to those who don't consider their neurodivergencies disabilities, as well as mentally disabled folks who don't use the umbrella term of neurodivergent. That's what I was venting about. Not about specific neurodivergent subcommunities.

Next time you're confused about one of my posts, please just message me instead of screenshotting my posts to post your own assumptions and comments about it. I'm very hurt by the fact you didn't bother to actually come to me with your concerns and have instead made a post that you admit is an "ungenerous reading" about a vent I would have been more than happy to elaborate on. It feels like you've been talking about me behind my back, which I do not appreciate.

I wanted to thank you for correcting us. I understand your frustration and want to apologize for our misunderstanding. I think honestly we were a bit afraid to reach out personally individually, but tried to at least avoid our platform bringing negative attention to your blog, but we went about it the wrong way. For both that and our misinterpretation, we apologize.

We've been trying to acknowledge where we are biased and ignorant due to trauma and other factors, but we still are sometimes wrong. For all that you were understandably frustrated with us, we appreciate your willingness to be patient and explain to us anyway, and to be kind despite where we screwed up in addressing that. We have saved screenshots of the post that we can add to this ask for context at your discretion (because we very much do want to take responsibility for what we've said), but we've taken down the original post out of respect for your feelings on how we mishandled this. Oh, Hwa to me is a sub, i literally cannot picture him any other way. Plus, when I was originally fleshing out all of their characters, and I made the kinks list, I had him as a sub lol That, and I just personally don't like writing super hard doms unless the character/scene calls for it. I always planned for him to be a switch with a heavy sub lean, though! (Also, this blog is a heavy sub!idol content enthusiast lol)

I knew I wanted to have that dagger scene, especially before the next chapter, because it was important for a specific thing to happen before HJ's smut gets released. I also just feel like I've focused a lot on oc's trauma, while hj is the one who was affected the most by what happened. There are little things that they all have that sort of affect them due to what happened, and I find it really important to address all angles of that! I'm just glad people seem to be enjoying it so far!

(and omg, don't even worry!! I know how a lot of these idols are normally portrayed, and sometimes, I just like to subvert the genre myself, of the majority doesn't reflect my own personal views tastes lol it's always interesting to talk about, though!)

One thing I learn about many people on tumblr is that if you're white and have been treated better by the patriarchy, you will always carry that attitude no matter what that somehow you can dictate other people's experiences and fear because of you have never experienced something bad in life in general or perhaps not worse.

I'm pretty sure you're trying to roast me here but the grammar is pretty bad so I can't even really tell.

Is this about me? If so, who said I'm white? You'd have to scroll down FAR on my blog and read all of my tags to find anything on the colour of my skin.

Who said I've been treated well or even better by the patriarchy? You don't know me, and I certainly don't sell my own misery online for pity points.

Who said I'm dictating other people's experiences? If you feel unsafe around all men, that's your problem to deal with. Frankly, I'm not a therapist. If you come into my inbox talking about how unsafe you feel around all men, the best I can do for you is tell you to go to therapy. I usually don't, because people only tell me this to harrass me into letting them be dicks, but that's besides the point. Fearing 50% of the population just isn't a nice way to live, and there are things you can do to ensure your safety at night/on dates/in clubs that don't require you to live in fear. Caution is not the same as fear.

And to be honest, I as a man shouldn't have to be the victim of your fear. Aside from the fact that the phenomenon known as white woman tears has genuinely cost black lives, especially those of black men, and therefore I don't really have faith that that "fear" is genuine a lot of the time, I don't think most people take a second to think WHY it is that they're scared of someone.

Because the truth of the matter is that black men are frequently portrayed as aggressive abusers who leave their children and commit a lot of crime. Trans men are portrayed as predators and liars who take advantage of their "female socialisation", if they're not outright seen as traitors who are trying to leave womanhood behind for the bliss of privileged manhood. Jewish men are portrayed as greedy and evil, and Arab/Islamic men are seen as extremist oppressors who force their women to veil. Asian men are portrayed as misogynistic, and historically also as predators to white women. Disabled men are portrayed as boundary-disrespecting creeps, and fat men as incels. The intersections of these identities face worse.

Are you afraid of these men because your fear is genuine, or are you afraid of these men because of the stereotypes that cause biases that you're unwilling to check? Are you keeping yourself safe in public in a manner that is reasonable, or are you actively discriminating against marginalised by perpetuating these stereotypes? Can you bring enough self-awareness to the table to acknowledge you might be doing the latter?

And if you have been scrolling through my tags, you will know that my original post is largely about how men are treated online. On the internet, you can't be put in immediate danger the same way you can in real life. You can't hide behind the excuse that you're treating men poorly because you're keeping yourself safe. So what does it say about you that you still feel the need to come into a (marginalised) man's inbox to complain about how he doesn't respect your real life fear enough when he's talking about how people on the internet should not be treating him poorly for being a man?

Nevermind that in real life I should also not have to hear that "all men are evil" and that someone wants to "kill all men". I deserve to live in comfort without being hated and treated poorly for who I am, just like everyone else. Despite the fact that I am and always will be a man.

Um honestly yes especially when it comes to NSFW content and what kind of shit we'll let fly. It used to be that you'd see obscurely tagged full blown rl porn on your feed but now people have the courtesy to actually try tagging it better as well as people just feeling safe enough to call people out on bigotry and condoning gross shit. I kinda wish this environment is the one little 12-13 year old me started off on lol.

♨ Have you ever roleplayed with someone that has been problematic but offered critique and then watched them improve?

Yes but they did not improve.

Quoting some of my favorite medias / poems / etc. If you squint, you'll see my writing riddled with them. >:)

I don't have a lot of experience with saying so but some of the villains I play where I don't mind duplicates : we really do understand these characters more than most of their fans do.

What isn't there to like about putting my character in all sorts of whacky scenarios or whatnot with characters he'll probably not have much interaction with or otherwise? Creating AUs, connecting with people through him, and even getting people into Psycho-Pass mwhahaha.

Why isn’t mass media more neutral?

Disclaimer: I’m not taking any sides here, nor am I provoking any of you to say it, but this has been on my mind quite a bit and I feel like saying it now: Honestly saying, I’ve always felt like the media favours Palestine over Israel way to much even tho media is supposed to be neutral.

Essays in exams, front pages of newspaper, stars on social media always talk about Palestine but seem to be painting a rather black and white “Palestine good Israel bad” picture but never seem to be willing to dwell deeper into the topic, and when they they go somewhat below the surface it’s always from Palestine’s perispective only, nothing explaining Israel’s side of story as passionately even if at all. Even in India vs Pakistan wars, you’ll find motives and aggressions from both sides easily enough if you looked.

“Stars” like Bela Hadid raise slogans demanding Israel’s dissolve under the ruse of Palestine’s independence and no one bats an eye. The founder of Human rights watch left the organisation saying that it was being biased towards Palestine and has forgotten its original purpose. A lot of funding of these pro palestine news channels comes from Pro Islamic nations organisations, most of the said countries being Palestine supporters.

Palestine is suffering, yes, but it’s not just Israel that’s making it suffer. Hamas has a major role to play too. It kills its own civilians more than Israel does. Palestine has seen some serious bloodshed since Hamas came into power but no one seems to focus on that. There’s little to no discussion about how Palestine is bleeding internally due to hamas, but only the stuff that can be used against Israel.

You’ll hear about how Israel “attacked” Gaza and most of the times it turns out to be some retaliation. We always hear about civilian deaths whose names are never revealed but no one ever wonders what civilians were doing around militant bases. We talk about how palestinians are being thrown out of Israel to show them as big aggressors and it turns out that the land was originally Israel’s territory to begin with.

I’m not being pro-Israel here, And I very well admit that it can have its fair share of violations, such as killing of the one Al-Jazeera reporter , accident or not (look, I fucking hate that platform but that doesn’t mean I condone killing of someone who didn’t do anything) but this is something that has always made me curious. It can’t be as simple as “Israel evil”, can it?

Hello everyone! This is Lisa Mona, the fairy girl stuck in a castle. Currently with too much time on her hands to not talk about topics. I’ll tell you my backstory, background, where I lean in human activities and what you will expect to find on this blog!

BACKSTORY

I don’t come from much, just a mother whole is a fairy and a father who is harpy, the two married and had me and my twin brother (you might see him say things time to time) the love was not meant to be however and so my fairy mother had her babies in a nunnery. Which is kinda of ironic, there I was raised up to be a nun, though I wasn’t exactly the best. I knew god loved me all the same- there I had done quite an innocent trick however- it wasn’t anything much it was just using the funds of the church to look at more of human experience. Yet when I got caught my whole family was caught with me, as a punishment since me and my family were immortal we were stuck in a castle for 1000 years. Until then we had to entertain ourselves, books, then the radio and then the TV! Oh how wonderful it was, but recently I was not feeling the same for the current state of media. So I’ll help the humans of this lifetime to not waste they’re lives on bad movies, books, or any media that can be consumed- and use it on stories that are worth it!

I’ll also recommend media reports on if a piece of media is good for children or not so much, what is the proper age range for such content, though of course age is one factor, types of families will like the movie or not.

My last will also be Analysis of media I love! With a rating on if you should expect from the series and also me talking about aspects of the media in new light so that fans who already read it can interpret it better!

BACKGROUND

Now with that out of the way, I should warn potential readers of my biases. One cannot be honest without mentioning one’s flaws, so to be transparent with things I’ll say this. If we were on American politics I’d be much more what humans call “conservative” or right-leaning but I don’t always agree with everything they say and sometimes do go with a libertarian approach. So if you see me much more critical of radical left leaning things, it is because of that. It also comes with the biases of being a nun as a Christian Baptist background, they’ll also be biases there. Lastly I might use the term SJW time to time, and most people think this means people who are on the left or democrat in general. While that might be for some people, that isn’t exactly me, I mostly use this to refer to Radical Leftists people and not the whole thing in general. If you do not exactly align or would not like to hear such biases on reviews, you can look for another blog. As always we can disagree or agree on things. Don’t worry I have other nicknames for the opposite spectrum i call people more on my side as NUNS as usual this doesn’t mean I think everyone on the right is a nun, just people who are more extreme in opinion. Though I’ll try to always see on both sides as in my old days I was kinda of a SJW for a while and a NUN, but now I mellowed out.

WHAT THE EXPECT

Reviews and thoughts of stories of old times and new, and also original art! I forgot to say that I make characters and comics so I’ll make fanart for the reviews I make alongside with my ramblings!

SHIPPING QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN

5. do you prefer fast plots, pre-established relationships or slow burns?

Fast plots or slow burns are good with me. I'm not big on pre-established relationships when I RP, I don't like it as much 😭 I feel like the potential is lost when you follow that structure, so I'd rather have the muses talk by themselves (?). I even have different AUs when Scarlett interacts with another Kino, because I don't want them to be forced to be together or have a certain relationship that might not align with the other person's interpretation. Plus we get a new AU! I love AUs.

If it's a slow burn I don't mind at all, I make sure the moments they spend together are enjoyable, but it depends on the dynamic. For Scarlett, this is a better way to potentially jump into a more serious relationship. I might be biased on that, but when a ship has many moments together I like to make her remember past things they have done/gone through to re-enforce her feelings in their current relationship (for better or for worse lol), and it works so much better with slow burn.

But there are other situations where people broke her matrix and she got attacked and turned into a blushy mess one interaction in. Or maybe they are friends and suddenly hey, look at all these benefits 🗿 KFGFFK I really don't mind how it develops, as long as it does naturally.

15. what’s your OTP when it comes to your muse?

Kinolett 😔 As much as I love all the AU relationships, no one tops Scarlett's relationship with Kino for me. But I'm insanely biased here because it's not like I like Kinolett because I control all the strings— DJFK I always talk about this and I will never shut up tbh. But when Scarlett and Kino met each other through another RP and I got to see the potential they both had I was head over heels for them istg.

They are very different and very similar at the same time, have similar traumas but experienced in opposite ways. Also Bossy Ghoul x Ghoul Leader??? Pls. PLS. Scarlett was shipless before this, and now she's doomed forever 🗿 JDKD.

The route doesn't follow the shippy aspect of their relationship tbh, like at all. It is focused on them and Yuuri, but the goal isn't romance. At least, not for now. I got into Kino after I started shipping Kino and Scarlett dgjdkg And now I want to explore both characters together through that story, and I'm pretty hyped about that.

Again, all the ships that have originated ever since I got into RP in this blog have a very special place in my heart 💕 And I could talk about them for hours too, but if we talk about my One True Pairing, I can't not choose Kinolett.

Detroit Become Human is such a flawed game. I just got done playing it, and in some parts it was downright triggering. But I really like your blog, and a lot of the fandom, that see through the "pacifism is the answer to oppression" bullshit the game tries to shove down our throats, and have good takes in general about the characters and the storyline. Maybe you could offer your two cents? It still makes me wonder if it's right of me to engage in the fandom, even like this. I'm not black, or jewish, which were the two groups most attacked by this game's depiction and appropriation of thsir struggles. I don't feel I have the right to "reclaim" this game (is that the word?), even if I have subversive takes to it.

honestly anon, im very flattered and honored to be asked this, but i have to say i dont have any solid answers much less right answers about this :( i knew DBH has oodles of problems since release, ive been heavily criticising it myself since then, but for some unknown reason ive gotten pretty hyperfixated on it (i only played it because i got it for free, i can at least say id never hand my money over to the original creators), and i can only say my view on this (and most media of this genre), and its that i think it can be a constructive thing to criticise media from whatever background you have (?). i consider myself a huge hater because almost every media i like ill do exactly this, ill enjoy stories and aspects of it but basically go through a looking glass to each "social issue problem" (idk what to call it, sorry) i can spot to keep myself updated i guess? i dont always discuss it to not be the party pooper though

i came to tumblr also because it seems to be the most open to this, talking about the bad not just of the story but the choices made along bringing this game to life. for DBH in particular my thoughts are that there are a lot of good points it either accidentally made or just about missed the opportunity to do in regards of technology with capitalism, humanity's desensitization to abuse towards human-like things, and sometimes i try analysing why the horrible parts even exist or what makes them horrible if that makes sense? for example i may be wrong, but the North x Josh rivalry sort of came off to me as pitting two oppressed groups against each other as almost a test of your own morals, would you as the player rather side with a sexually traumatised 'angry' white woman or a violently abused 'calm' black man? when this is a mechanic that doesnt make sense, with the fucked up mind of the producers behind this, it wouldnt really be a big shock if it was the case. i also think its incredibly ableist in its methods, the old disabled man keeps yearning for his death and musing about humans being far inferior for their "fragile existence", and the game visibly intends for you to believe him "wise" for this, while i think it not only shows their ableist beliefs, it isnt necessarily an unbelievable character? a bitter, once abled bodied healthy and wealthy man suddenly deprived of some of his "liberty" would clearly become nihilistic once hes got just one of his priviledges stripped from him, imo

i also am appreciative of recreational work, if im being frank! derivative works are something i personally really really enjoy, since im pretty bad at inventing things from scratch? and ive seen fix its from people that basically take some of the monstrosities in the game and either recontextualise them or reframe them way better

in conclusion, im too biased to give you a good answer, so my middle of the road answer is always "enjoy things but with a critical mind and avoid giving money as much as possible" :/

click to see their full details! if you can't tell, i've always been unicorn biased. more info about them is below the cut!! but i've really had so many ponysonas, it's bonkers.

pony prime is called "the original" since she was the first oc i ever made. i couldn't decide between being a unicorn or a pegasus, so i just picked both! i knew that having an alicorn oc was considered "cringey," but i justified it due to being native hawaiian and being related to the former bloodline (but honestly it's not as big of a deal as i thought it was then). i also liked the color turquoise at the time, and couldn't come up with a hair or eye color, so i just picked my own.

pony number 2 was a modified version of the original. chopped off her wings, changed her hair color and made it more show-style big-poofy-curl, and added accessories. i was leaning more into liking purple along with turquoise, and started going through a FNAF phase, which brought about the bowtie. it phased out in later drawings of sketche, but i figured it deserved a spot here. another important note: i drew all of my ponies with the same body type, and was still having a hard time drawing/accepting my own, so all of the ponies up until the most recent are thin.

here's a more literal case of FNAF phase. wisp isha was literally a ponified version of my FNAF insert, wisp the wolf. she was also the first ponysona to have a cutie mark, with a red cross symbol and wrench (she performed repairs on the other bots). originally her second name was "urufu," which was the word that google gave me for "wolf" in japanese. it's just "wolf" written out in japanese kanji. i don''t remember where i got isha from, though.

inky emerald didn't even really have a name! i was experimenting with my ponysona, and tried a ponysona making challenge, which spit this girl out. things like species and hair length were determined by your date of birth, of course. she's called "inky emerald" because she has ink covering her legs and hooves, which you can't really see due to the frame. around this time, i had a few other place holder ponysonas, but they all culminated into inky.

snow blossom was one of my favorites when i made her, but as her name implies, she is as pale as the snow itself. and as much as i'll joke about being "reflective" online, i'm actually not this pale haha. anyways, this is where i started leavning more towards a flowery theme and using green in my designs. i think i drew her a couple of times, but after that, she faded into the background and i stepped back from drawing ponies for a long while.

lilac was my return to ponies after about a year and a half of not touching them. it feels like the break was longer, but it wasn't. couldn't get rid of ponies in my brain if i tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. lilac willow was a direct redesign of sketche wolf. she was the second pony to have a cutie mark, which was a half-drawn flower. i aws experimenting a lot with how i wanted to draw ponies, so her design was one of the furthest from the MLP style. she looked nothing like me, though; the curls were much more relaxed, she was extremely thin, no glasses... but her design was fun. i may try incorporating her into the main blog at some point, but just in the background.

hmmmmm, i think i recognize this one.... nope. jk. this design was made when i decided to make a blog about lumerde. i wanted to incorporate my NOW favorite colors, green, pink, and yellow, and almost accidentally made fluttershy... but i think the result was fine. she's also chubby, like i am irl! i know i talk about my weight a lot but i'm trying to be more comfortable and confident about it.

and then, our current narrator herself! well, myself, i suppose. i really like this redesign and the new hair texture, and i hope this design communicates everything about how i look properly. i originally tried avoiding putting too many fur marks on my characters since the show rarely did that, but heck, it's barely even attached to the show anymore.

this feels like a lineage. but in a fun way!

I wasn’t expecting to receive some positivity and I do feel like returning the favor.

@tricksheart​ as one of the first P5Protags I ever met and has always been such a chill presence in my dash and a good friend for a very long time. The memes are always a riot and the meshing of the Persona 2 and 5 lore is very well-thought out and crafted, with a side of detail that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I’m always talking how much I love @more-than-a-princess​  and I think she is underappreciated. Sonia Nevermind is a very interesting character, someone whose struggle is to show she is more than her talent – a central theme of the original series, how people get labeled and the expectations placed upon them can be suffocating – and she captures it with grace. It isn’t about ignoring the “princess” side but rather it is a “natural” part of her, something effortless, and Rae captures it very well. The mun being a wonderful and patient person is the cherry on top of an absolute perfect package.

@electricea​ s also one of the earliest Ryujis that I have ever met and one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Jassi is easily one of my closest friends so I’ll admit that I’m biased. Jassi’s understanding of Ryuji’s struggles, how he is a good boy labeled as a delinquent for no fault of his own – someone who wears his feelings on his sleeve and can’t stand for injustice and speaks out no matter how harsh the consequences could be to him. The mun too is someone very honest and kind, I adore every moment spent with her even if we are just chilling and watching cursed videos.

Some rapid-fire love for lovely people that I will be talking more about in the future but this post is already kinda long.

@moonlightmagus​ also deserves a shotout, a dear friend who has been with me throughout thick and thin in the past year. She is kind and always trying her best, more people should give her a follow. @lyriccl​ is fun to interact with and Emma’s chaotic pun energy is always ALWAYS entertaining and you can tell how much passion Maxie puts on all her OCs. If you haven’t checked her out you are missing out. I’ve always enjoyed my interactions with Mei Mei and @gamenu​ is cool cool and Nic exudes charm. You don’t see many characters with a lisp and her writing is filled with life. Jack always impressed me with his canon blog and @koderror​ is a perfect vehicle for his bondless creativity and I’m so glad he is back.

Also a shoutout to Air, Cin and Yoly for being amazing.

Unfortunately, the moment that letter is seen, it will get deleted, because it does break the rules of breaking canon. Phoenix Wright intended to never tell Trucy or Apollo about their origins on behalf of Thalassia and she feels unready to tell them at the moment. Every letter that has ever toed the line would always result in neither Apollo nor Trucy knowing or else deciding to research themselves outside of the letters. So, until AA brings us a game where Phoenix or Thalassia intends on telling Apollo and/or Trucy, neither will ever know on this blog. Even Thalassia and Phoenix talking about revealing this to Apollo and Trucy at the end of the post-credit scene in Spirit of Justice doesn’t count.

That being said, you could do a letter like that for one other person without breaking canon: Iris Wilson. When Yujin Mikotoba revealed the truth of Iris’ origins to Ryunosuke, Susato, Barok and Kazuma, there was a pause before Iris began talking on the talkie. It’s also proven in canon that Iris has a tendency to eavesdrop and there were subtle hints that Iris already knew after that reveal, unlike with Apollo and Trucy.

Chief Mod Edgeworth: It doesn’t matter to me, but there is something to admire about 2D with all the work that goes into it. That being said, 3D can be admired, if work goes into it. I once said that if AA was going to do 3D, then they should take a page from PLvsPW’s playbook on how to do it. It seems they did when The Great Ace Attorney came. The animation was clean, it took advantage of its surroundings. Much of the gameplay felt familiar to PLvsPW, especially cross-examining multiple witnesses and questioning one that you’re not talking to. 

If AA was to do another game, I’d like to see them bring back the Jury idea, but take a page from The Great Ace Attorney in how to do it. My issue with how it was done in Apollo Justice was that there was no interaction or threat of the Jurors choosing Guilty or Not Guilty. They were ultimately in Phoenix’s favor. I like that the Jurors were not on Ryunosuke’s side and could even be racist jackasses to him sometimes. He had to talk with them and use their words against them, only submitting evidence when asked. I’d like to see Phoenix, Athena and Apollo go through something like that if Capcom was to make a new 3D AA game.

Modshoe: I love them both :D. Though, when I first saw playthroughs of DD, I wasn’t a fan of the 3D style. I just finished the first four games so I was biased towards the 2D style. But eventually, I grew to love the 3D style just as much as the 2D :).

Mod Justice: Don’t care about graphics or gameplay - I only care about good storytelling when it comes to Ace Attorney (and pretty much every video game ever to exist).

If a game has a good story, then graphics and gameplay are secondary. Don’t like me for having this opinion? Three words: SUCK IT UP.

Chief Mod Edgeworth: If you think this is ridiculous, you haven’t played The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, the second one specifically. Speaking of evidence.

This means that Franziska von Karma is of Japanese descent. Whether it is full or part is up to the fans to decide. I’ve just decided to go for full Japanese. The same goes for Phoenix Wright. It isn’t out of the realm of possibilities for this to be canon and, as far as I know, they’re the only characters that are accepted to be full Japanese in this blog. Maya and Athena have only claimed to be part Japanese since both have adopted Japanese religion/culture in some form. You don’t have to share the same headcanons, but this isn’t ridiculous for Ace Attorney.

Personally, I find it more unrealistic for the game to take place in the United States, yet somehow require all attorneys to wear badges, one of them representing the rising sun on the Japanese flag. At this point, I can see why some headcanons include Japan winning WW2. Until The Great Ace Attorney came around, it was easy to go along with Phoenix Wright and Franziska von Karma being American/German, but now it’s also canon that Ryunosuke Naruhodo is the ancestor of Phoenix Wright and Manfred/Franziska von Karma haven an ancestor that took the Karuma name as a surname. This blog will accept canon as it comes and will be flexible with any new information. If this means making everyone Japanese, then so be it.

Welcome back to the blog where we discuss it all relating to movies and T.V. This week I want to discuss a very popular movie series or in this case it may be more appropriate to say universe. That’s right this week I want to discuss the past, present, and future of the MCU aka Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before I start, I thought we could switch it up a little and make this more interactive. Below is a quiz to tell you which MCU character you are internally and externally.

I have taken the quiz myself and I was surprised to learn that on the inside I’m like Captain America and on the outside, I’m like Ant-Man. I was a little confused at first but after reading the explanation I can see the similarities. Who did you get? Was it who you expected or totally off?

Coming back to the topic of today I’ll first be discussing the MCU phase 1-3. In my opinion and I might be a little biased these phases are probably one of the best cinematic masterpieces of my generation. In case you have forgotten what movies were in these phases here is a picture as a reference.

The reason why I think these movies were so amazing is for several reasons. One of the main reasons is because of the writing and directing. I never realized how great the writing and directing were until I watched other movies or *cough* *cough* stage 4 of the MCU. In phase 1 were introduced to the main MCU characters like Iron man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. We also get to see our heroes fight together for the first time in the Avengers movie. Later in phases 2 and 3, we get to see more secondary characters and heroes introduced. Another main reason why I liked phases 1-3 so much is how refreshing it was to me. When the MCU introduced Iron man first I felt like that was a statement. They could have gone in chronological order and chosen Captain America who is the most like Superman. A superhero who is just, righteous, and courageous. But instead, they choose a character who is riddled with personality problems that would make him an unfit hero. My next reason is the movies were funny, genuinely funny. Which is something I feel is either not shown in superhero movies or not done right. My final reason (at least for today) is the details. I love that saying it’s all in the details. I feel like the MCU understood that perfectly. Accompanied by a great plot, writing, and directing it just took the films to a whole new level.

The next phase I want to discuss is phase 4 the current stage we are in.

While the dates for some of these are off due to the pandemic, we are currently in phase 4. If I am honest and I always try to be I currently have a very strong dislike for phase 4. Now I don’t dislike all of it just certain aspects of it. For example, I really enjoyed Wanda Vision, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, What If, Doctor Strange 2, and Spiderman 3. The rest of the movies and shows were a bit of a letdown for me. In my opinion, the biggest disappointment was Loki and Black Widow. I felt like these characters had a dark past that was never talked about in the movies. Furthermore, both had complex personalities. Considering both are no longer “alive” it would have been a great opportunity to explore their origin stories. In addition, most of the shows/movies felt cheesy in the writing and directing. The saddest part is you can see the difference in the writing and directing from the last phase to this one. A funny joke I saw on Instagram was comparing the writing in the past vs the present. For example, in infinity war (phase 1) Thor says bring me Thanos. While in Love and Thunder Lady Thor said eat my hammer. Rewatching both scenes just doesn’t give the same effect. On top of that, the plot didn’t always make sense to me. I’m often left feeling confused rather than excited at the end of a movie/show.

The final stage I will be discussing is stage 5 and 6.

After watching most of the content in phase 4 I strongly considered being done with the MCU. Stage 5 didn’t give me much hope that it was going to get better. The only movie I would be interested in watching is Guardians of the Galaxy. But even then, I’m unsure how interesting it will be missing one of the main characters, Gamora. However, just when I’m about to write off the MCU they release phase 6 and I see they added 2 Avengers movies. This is big news for any marvel fan because the last Avengers movie was in 2019 . Futhermore with a lot of the original crew dead, it seemed unlikely that there would be a new Avengers movie. I don't know what to expect but this gives me hope for the future of the MCU and I can't help but be excited once again.
