there’s just something so gutting about nagi’s complete and utter trust in isagi. “should we not consult barou?” he asks, and all it takes is a single no from isagi and he drops it. he concedes. like he is placing his own life into the hands of just one guy. a guy who stands on the edge of his throne with his eyes wide but never focusing. in the hands of a puzzling king, who offers not an ounce of certainty but an abundance of confidence. and that is enough

i think the reason that a lot of people don’t recognize how fucked up sokka is is due to the fact that sokka himself refuses to acknowledge it. he is extremely repressed and operating on so many layers of cognitive dissonance that he doesn’t even realize that he is not in fact “normal” or “mentally stable” or “healthy.” part of sokka being extremely fucked up is also refusing to acknowledge or confront that he is remotely fucked up. so he generally presents like a well-functioning person who, despite being incredibly cerebral, doesn’t have a particularly rich inner life. but that’s only because he’s walled off every single aspect of his existence that causes him (real) pain or sadness or grief, put it in a vault and then buried it. and confronting any of it, even a little bit (like admitting that he felt abandoned by his father leaving, or that he misses his mother, or any other normal expression of pain that katara has no problem communicating) would mean confronting all the harmful logic he has internalized regarding his identity and denial of his own inherent humanity. so even though he seems like he has no filter and loves to complain, he is actually performing pretty much constantly. for the sake of those to whom he feels obligated, but mostly for himself.

really actually kind of enjoy how the big lore moments are sort of quiet on a singular stream (or a small group!) instead of the events solely being the lore; i think there would be this hesitation to develop anything solo if the server reinforced this idea that Big Lore could only happen during scheduled events and days. instead the more narrative-progressing moments (take the baghera hybrid experiments revelation or the philza birdnapping for recent example) are very low-key and almost unhyped up— there’s no expectation for that kind of lore necessarily at the time which makes it more rewarding to experience as a viewer. big fan of how they do the events as player bonding time rather than serious narrative progression because it allows all the players (especially the ones who don’t engage in the rp side that much) to participate and get to know each another more; it’s very neat it’s really smart it’s nicely executed

saying this on twt but i truly still can’t get over how much love and grief there is in cacao kingdom , the dichotomy of it , and how it all relates to dark cacao as a character .
it’s very impactful to know that there is a moment where the dead gray trees become cherry blossoms l full of life, that years after white lily’s disappearance cacao kingdom ensures the lilys are persevered, and that sunflowers also appear in the kingdom . they aren’t meant to survive , the conditions are not meant for them , but the strength they have to stay alive reflects on cacao and the citizens . realistically , there is an easier life where agriculture and survival isn’t a struggle , but they planted it their home and continue to both fight and love the home they have .
remembrance and symbolism are also very much connected - like how the flowers are related to his loved ones and also how theres literal slabs of chocolate to remember the fallen , and of course the choco portrait . it still drives me crazy how cacao berates choco by saying he won’t be remembered but also keeps a memorial for his child ;_; cacao still loves choco , but he also grieves for the actions both and and choco have done but regardless cacao will always hold onto memories , good or bad . cacao kingdom - and cacao especially - holds out for the good that can come from grief . if a flower can bloom in snow then maybe one day cacao can too heal from his pain . or smth like that
