#i am writing about roy's sister again

It turns out I have a deep fondness for the entirely off-screen sisters of some of my favorite fictional characters.
What do I call them, though -- are they blorbos of mine, even though they are never seen and barely referred to in canon? Are they my sisters-in-blorbo? (or would that refer to folks who have the same blorbo as me?)

No Show Roy-o
Jamie paced the locker room. The team just watching him.
Everyone's eyes snap to the door when someone starts to open it but they are disappointed when Ted and Beard walk in. The two coaches look at each other and then the team before heading into the office.
"Okay, something is wrong," Ted says as he sets his backpack down.
"Clearly," Beard replies.
Ted watches the team through the window and notices all the attention on Tartt. Well, then he knew where to start.
"What's wrong, Jamie?" Ted asks as he approaches the striker.
"Roy didn't show for training this morning and he isn't here yet."
"Has he ever missed before?"
"The man actually lives to wake me up at 4 am to order me around," Jamie states. "No, he never misses. Not without a text at least."
"Did you call him?"
"I'm not daft," Jamie huffs. "Several times. No answer. Now it goes to voicemail."
"Some of us tried too," Isaac says. "Nothing."
"Keeley hasn't been able to ring him either," Jamie says. "Should I call his sister?"
"You have his sister's number?"
"For emergencies, and Phoebe," Jamie admits.
"Hold on, you have contact with Roy's niece?" Ted asks. "She's what? 8?"
"That's really the important part to you now?" Jamie asks.
"Kinda, odd friendship there," Ted admits.
"She insists I'm Roy's best friend, and Roy says it's for emergencies. She has a very different definition of emergencies, like you said, she's 8."
"Okay, fine," Ted says. He could let that go for now.
"Do you think this counts as an emergency?" Jamie asks.
"Let's see if he is doesn’t show, not just later than normal," Ted says.
But when time comes to head out to the pitch and Roy still isn't there Jamie cracks and texts Roy's sister. She texts him back that she'll check his place. And that gives Jamie some reassurance as he begins training. He gives Ted his phone in case she or Roy calls. Ted initially thought it was silly, but about an hour in she does call. She tells Ted that Roy wasn't there and the fact he isn't answering for her is unusual. Roy would never ignore a call from her or Phoebe. But she also insists that Roy can handle himself. And she'll let them know if she hears anything. And that makes Ted a bit nervous. They were just about to take a break when Phoebe called Jamie. She is crying and Ted actually does call Jamie over for this one. And Jamie, still in his kit, drags Ted inside. Changes only his boots while still on the phone and whispers to Ted to get what he needs.
"Where are we going?" Ted asks but does as Jamie says because something feels very wrong here.
"The fucking hospital," Jamie hisses, not to be mean but more so Phoebe doesn't hear.
"Oh, that's bad, yeah, let's go." Ted nods and follows Jamie’s lead.
"We're on the way Phoebe, just stay there."
Phoebe runs over and hugs Jamie when she sees him.
"Hey, Phoe," Jamie says and despite the fact she is 8 years old, Jamie hauls her up into his arms for a hug. And Ted is almost envious of how easy that seemed for him. But Ted is still very confused. "You remember Coach Ted?" Jamie asks her. She nods as Jamie sets her down.
"Hi Phoebe," Ted says. "Are you okay?" Ted asks.
She shrugs and looks over. Ted sees a doctor he had met before, but she looked out of place in street clothes.
"Hey, Doc." Jamie hugs her. "What happened?"
"Still trying to sort that out," she says.
"You're Roy's sister?" Ted finally asks.
"Oh sorry, yeah, Coach Lasso, Doc. Doc, Coach Lasso."
"Thanks Jamie," Ted says at the less than helpful introduction but Jamie is already being pulled away to the waiting area by Phoebe.
"How much did Jamie tell you?"
"Absolutely nothing," Ted admits.
She shakes her head. "Right, Roy was brought in about a half hour ago. A friend of mine on shift recognized him and called me. They think he was hit by a car but we have no idea."
"Oh wow, I am so sorry, that-" Ted starts to say but she stops him.
"Thank you, he's in surgery now, I assume you will want to let Ms. Welton know. He might be out for a while."
"Yeah, right, good calls must run in the family," he says.
"Something like that," she says before going to check on Phoebe.
She leans in and whispers to Jamie that Roy is in surgery and it's a waiting game now.
Ted calls Rebecca and Beard, then Keeley. Keeley is there in less than twenty minutes.
"Keeley?" Jamie asks when he sees her. She hugs Phoebe and then him.
"Ted called," she says and smacks his arm.
"What was that for?"
"You didn't call me!"
"I was busy with her," Jamie says, gesturing to Phoebe. Thankfully she had her headphones on and was curled up in a chair.
"Fine, that is an acceptable excuse. Here," she hands him a bag. "I ran by Nelson Road and got your stuff. Sam had made sure it was packed up. They're all pretty worried."
"They aren't the only ones," Jamie glances at Phoebe.
"Does Ted know?"
She glances out the window to where Ted was clearly on the phone with Rebecca or Higgins.
"Know what?"
"About you and Roy?" She says.
"Nah, didn't know if I should tell him. We haven't talked about it."
"Well, I think this might genuinely blow your cover."
"Hasn't yet," Jamie says.
"Jamie, I know you. You're managing right now because of Phoebe, but the minute you see him, you-"
"I know," Jamie seems to deflate. "I am trying so hard but-"
"Oh babe," she hugs him and grimaces. "I love you, Jamie but do us all a favor and change. I'll stay with her."
"Yeah, right, okay," Jamie says as he heads to the toilets to change.
"Where's Jamie?" Ted asks when he gets back.
"Changing out of his kit, Ted there is something I need to tell you, the boys might get mad, but Jamie is going to need someone and as much as he tries to hide it he is terrified."
"Okay, lay it on me," Ted says.
"Roy and Jamie have been secretly dating since just after international break."
"Wow," Ted says. "That's…new information." He admits. "Does explain why he has Roy's sister in his phone. And why he was so worried when Roy didn't show up for training."
"They were keeping it a secret because well, for a lot of reasons, but I believe that ship might have sailed based on the fact Jamie didn't even change out of his kit."
"Did change his boots," Ted says.
"Probably not easy to drive in," she says.
"Probably," Ted agrees.
"Please don't make a big deal out of it, Jamie wasn't going to say anything because he wasn't sure if Roy would want him to, but Jamie brought you for a reason. He brought you because he trusts you and Roy trusts you. And I know you won't hold this against them."
"Heck no, I'm glad they have each other, just surprised is all. You think Jamie is just a ticking time bomb in this one?"
"Definitely," Keeley nods. "And I'm not sure what will set him off."
"Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep this between us unless something happens."
"Thank you, Ted."
Keeley heads back to work after they promise to keep her in the loop. Roy's sister comes back a bit later to tell them that Roy was out of surgery but it would be a bit before anyone could see him.
"You should be at training," is the first thing out of Roy Kent's mouth when they walk in. He glares at Jamie.
"Uncle Roy!" Phoebe rushes over and hugs him as best as she can.
"Hi, Phoebe," he says before looking at Jamie.
"You really think I would stay at training after they called me?" Jamie challenges.
"Yes, not much you can do here," Roy says.
"How hard did that car hit you?” Jamie narrows his gaze at him. “Because clearly your brain is rattled, old man."
"How you feeling, Roy?" Ted asks to get the two to quit being so grumpy.
"Like I got hit by a car," Roy states.
"You did," Phoebe sniffles.
"I'm okay, kid," he says. Earning a scoff from Jamie. Roy glares at him. "You should-"
"Oh, Jamie Tartt's not going anywhere," Ted assures him. "Rebecca already knows you'll be out for a while, and sorry boys, but the cats out of the bag on this one."
"You told him," Roy glares at Jamie again.
"I did not," Jamie looks just as shocked.
"Keeley told me," Ted says. "Because she was worried Jamie was handling it too well."
"Of course she was," Jamie complains.
"You did cry, like a lot earlier," Phoebe says.
"Thanks for that, Phoe," Jamie says, his tone less than amused at being called out by a literal child.
"Phoebe, why don't you help me find your mom and call Keeley," Ted says.
She seems to weigh her options.
"And stop by the vending machines," Ted adds.
"Okay," she hugs her uncle again before following Ted out. Roy looks over at Jamie and can tell he really is hanging in by a thread.
"I'm fine," Roy says. And Jamie doesn't even say anything, just crawls in the bed beside Roy. Roy grunts but manages to shift a bit to make them both fit. "Better?" Roy asks once Jamie is practically molded into his side.
"Yes, much," Jamie says and he buried his face in Roy's shoulder.
"Why am I not surprised?" Roy's sister says when she walks in.
"Not my idea," Roy says.
"Not complainin' though, yeah?" Jamie counters.
"Tear his stitches and I'm banning you myself, Tartt," she says.
"Ouch, Doc," Jamie says. "But fair."
She hums as she sets to checking his vitals.
“Pain?” She asks.
He grunts.
“Roy,” she starts but Jamie beats her to it.
“It's either now or you have to admit it when Phoebe gets back,” Jamie says. And whether it is because he's right or that Jamie's so close to losing it Roy knows he needs to answer.
“Fine, 6.”
“Right,” his sister says.
She makes a few notes.
It was quiet again when she left.
“Are you mad?” Jamie asks.
“That I got hit by a fucking car?” Roy counters. That seemed like an obvious question. Of fucking course he was. He could have died. His mind circles back as Jamie shifts.
“That people know,” Jamie corrects. “About us.”
Roy considers it as best he can with painkillers in his system. And he really doesn't fucking care because Jamie is there with him and despite how he was acting before he was glad he was there. It had been terrifying to think he might die when he has people that need him.
“No,” Roy finally answered. “Needed you here, and if that's the fucking cost. Fine.”
“Good, because I think the team knew something was up, but that might have been because I couldn't sit still.”
“When have you ever fucking sat still?” Roy posits.
“This was worse,” Jamie tells him. “I'm sure Will is going to be pissed at the state of my boots. Pacing constantly on a hard surface.”
“Well get you new fucking boots,” Roy assures.
“Least of my worries, love,” Jamie admits, carefully shifting so he can see Roy's face. “Scared the shit out of me when I couldn't- you weren't answering. No one could find you. You never-”
“Fuck,” Roy says because Jamie has tears streaming down his face and he hates when that happens. He hates that it's because of him, even if he had no say in what happened to him. Despite the ache it causes Roy reaches up and brushes as many of those tears away as he can without risking his stitches. “I'm-”
“Don't!” Jamie starts to pull away. The striker knew what he was about to say. Jamie vehemently shakes his head, causing Roy's hand to have to fall back to the bed. “You are not fucking fine, Roy,” Jamie states, and it was clear what little hold Jamie had on his feelings was slipping. “Because I’m not! Phoebe isn’t either. You nearly died! I can't…do you think I want to do any of this shit without you? Because I fucking don't.”
“Not fucking asking you to,” Roy says, and it probably comes out more aggressive than he intended because Jamie was no longer tucked against his side. The footballer was on his feet, having wound himself up to pacing again. And Roy's chest always gets tight when Jamie does that shit. He needs Jamie to be okay. But he knows he probably said that wrong when Jamie glares at him.
“You didn't fucking have to,” Jamie retorts. And that's fair.
“Fucking hell,” Roy grumbles, attempting to sit up so he can better track Jamie's movement.
“Don’t do that,” Jamie grumbles as he moves back to help him. “Hurt yourself and your sister will boot me.”
“Then quit fucking pacing,” Roy tugs at Jamie's arm until he sits on the edge of the bed. Roy sighs, ignoring the ache in his ribs as he does.
“I'm not fucking dying, Tartt. Fucking doctors made sure of it.”
“Barely,” Jamie says.
“But they fucking did, and that's fucking that.”
Jamie scoffs but doesn't bother arguing. He was anxious and still thinking about how much worse things could have been, and how much could still go wrong.
“Look at me, Tartt,” Roy demands. Jamie does. “I know this is a fucking mess, but I will be fucking fine. You know why?” Jamie shrugs. “Because you lot won't stop until I am. You, my sister and Ted fucking Lasso, are all fucking determined. Throw in Keeley and that fucking team. I probably won't get a fucking quiet moment til I'm back at the dog track. So fucking do it.”
“Are you telling me to take care of you?” Jamie asks.
“Going to fucking do it anyway, yeah?”
“Of course,” Jamie nods. “What do you need me to do?”
“You're here, so things are already fucking better,” Roy states. That has warmth spreading through Jamie's chest because Roy has less filter than most, but it would appear he has even less now. And it's oddly sweet.
“Yeah, I'm here,” Jamie says as he shifts to prop his knee up on the bed and takes Roy's hand in his. The fact Roy seems to relax even more has Jamie smiling for what feels like the first time all day. “And you heard the gaffer, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me.”
“Good, going to need help with the kid,” Roy says. “She is going to be impossible to get rid of.”
“Don't lie Kent, you love every second of it. You love that kid.”
“Not the only fucking one,” Roy states.
“That loves Phoebe? Of course not, she's adorable and-”
Roy squeezes his hand.
“That I love, you fucking muppet. Sometimes I wonder why but fucking hell, Tartt. I fucking love you.”
Jamie grins. “Fucking love you too, you prick.”
Roy tugs him until Jamie lays back down beside him. There is a knock at the door. Jamie goes to get up but Roy doesn't let him.
“Well aren't you two adorable,” Ted says as he and Phoebe come in.
“Fuck off, Lasso,” Roy grunts.
“Uncle Roy,” Phoebe starts.
“I know, kid,” Roy says.
“Your mum probably knows where his wallet is more than he does,” Jamie says.
“Could probably finally cash out that tab I've heard about,” Ted adds.
“Oi, don't give her fucking ideas.”
“That's two,” Ted states.
“Fucking hell,” Roy mutters, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back against the pillows.
“Three,” Phoebe giggles.
“I got you,” Jamie quietly tells Roy. Jamie grabs his wallet from his locker and tosses it to Phoebe. Phoebe gives him a look. “He's been through it, so I'll take the hit for him.” Jamie grins. Phoebe just shrugs and takes three quid from him.
“Now he owes you,” Phoebe says, setting his wallet on the table by his phone, which he had set aside to focus on Roy when he initially crawled into the bed.
Roy glares at him, but it doesn't bother the striker.

hello! welcome back to my FMA Characters as Taylor Swift albums!!! previous albums are here:
debut, fearless (taylor’s version), speak now (taylor’s version), RED (taylor’s version), 1989 (taylor’s version), 𝔯𝔢𝔭𝔲𝔱𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫, 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓇
now, let’s all escape into the woods where we live in a cabin and write with a quill pen and wander the moors:
𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆
Riza Hawkeye
- folklore is taylor's first forey into not writing completely autobiographically. she is still writing about herself though but projecting that onto fictional characters she's creating (mecore affffffffff).
- the loose story of the album is, you guessed it, folklore or tall tales. stories that are timeless and are passed down from generation to generation, across cultures and worlds to one another for everyone to relate to or learn from. the album discusses a lot of different topics that everyone can relate to or feel connected to in some way as they're not unique feelings and are universal. she does this in a truly achingly beautiful way and is beautiful.
- if you haven't listened to the LPSS version, do it. SO FUCKING GOOD AND MY TEARS RICOCHET HURTS SO MUCH
- BUT the album fits a lot of riza's character and story as almost all of it can be linked to her past or life at most points either in the story or in stuff implied prior to the start of the story
- seven being about her as a child and that innocence that she yearns for again
- if you're a royai shipper (great taste) august and illicit affairs can be read in the context of her and roy having a secret relationship together and the feelings tied into that.
- august being how she can't have more with roy because of their individual goals but still being hopelessly in love
- illicit affairs being about the feelings that comes over time with having a secret relationship and the pain and anger you feel but can't stop (and that's the thing about illicit affairs and clandestine meetings and longing stares they're stolen from one single glance but THEY DIE AHD THEY DIE AND THEY DIE a million little times...)
- mirrorball ties into riza not really knowing herself or what to do. more of a popular fan interpretation though there is evidence of this based on the brief scenes we get of younger her and joining the army because she believes in roy's idyllic ideas of the military. riza herself doesn't fully know herself and mirrorball perfectly encapsulates that
- in addition to that, this is me trying is, in my opinion, the sister song to mirrorball. the song is about how you're kind of at this low and awful point but you're TRYING to be better. to keep fighting and moving on despite everything that makes you want to just stop it all. this connects to riza with similar things that i said in mirrorball. she doesn't fully see or know herself outside of roy. she doesn't believe she deserves to live and only finds meaning and value through roy himself and his future goals. she has stated twice that if he wasn't alive she wouldn't want to be alive. everyday she is actively trying to keep going and fight, even during the promised day she remarks that she needs to keep going when she was just bleeding out 30 minutes ago because she sees roy is still willing to fight despite losing his eyesight not even fifteen minutes ago.
- epiphany is also riza coded but i don't feel comfortable analyzing it and discussing it based on what the songs about. so if you want to know what i mean listen to the song and you'll understand what i mean.
- mad woman is the battle with lust *tips cowboy hat*
- i could very much go on and on and on and i will! hoax with the fucking quotes like
• "don't want no other shade
of blue but you" and "your faithless loves the only hoax believe in" and "i am ash from your fire" ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEEEEEEE
- okay okay you probably get the picture by this point. in conclusion folklore is heavily riza coded and is another piece of evidence in my "taylor swift kins riza hawkeye" crack theory. also riza needs therapy
- like riza SPECIFICALLY just fixed herself after each traumatic event with super glue and duck tape and is only holding on at this rate through sheer force and her superior officer/boyfriends dumbass ways

Yesterday night was our last session of my first D&D campaign ever
Last night we drank merrily, saying goodbye (for now) to the 4 adventurers in my first D&D campaign ever, for which I was the DM (1st time ever also). I feel very happy and a little sad also, so I thought I could write it all up here - mostly for me, and for you reading if that interests you.
It was more of a Wrap-up session, we didn't play per se, but I wanted to recap the last scenes, and give the floor to my players to ask some questions and discuss what we've been doing. It was a good idea, I think, it went great, we had time to reminisce and remember the beginnings, the roads not taken and the what-ifs, the monsters and the battles they were traumatized by, and what their characters would do now.
Flashbacks and sneak peeks and more thoughts under the cut
When I started to watch Critical Role, I had no idea what D&D was. All I heard were mentions of it in media (tv shows, mostly). It intrigued me more and more, and I started to look at the rules, and the books published, etc. And then one day on an impulse, I bought the Starter Set : Lost Mine of Phandelver, and sent a message to my sister and some friends, asking if they were interested to see what it was about with me.
In April 2021, with my sister and 3 friends, 4 players in total, we created their characters, and we started truly playing in May 2021. At first, we played only once a month, in person, because Roll20 is awesome for battles but not much for anything else (personal opinion). Plus we were going out again after the pandemic, it felt nice. Then in June 2022, one of my friends and players decided to leave, and we recruited another friend at the same time, so I still had 4 players to manage through and through. They were all pretty much novices like me (only 1 had played before), and so we all learned together during the years. In multiple ways ! small but important things like : who's taking care of the scheduling, who's time is it to host and what food & drink will we bring, who has many dice and can lend them, how can we figure the characters without buying expensive minis (we ended up using fèves, which is a very French thing I will explain now : at the beginning of the year, you gather your friends or colleagues or family or whatever to eat the galette des rois, literally cake of the kings, and whether you make it or bought it, there is always inside 1 very small porcelain figurine, and the person finding it gets to be King/Queen for the day. Yeah it's the same country who decapitated the last king, don't ask. Anyway sometimes people collect the small porcelain figurines, and then their grandchildren sell the collection, and we ended up with a lot for practically nothing.).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In late 2022 and throughout 2023, we decided to try and play more, and managed - with a few exceptions - to play twice a month, which we found was a good rhythm : for me, to not have too much prep work, and for my players, to not forget everything that happened last time. In the meantime, another friend of mine with whom I am having lunch at work with very regularly, got used to hear me talking about "the shit my players did last night" and was very interested in following this as a story ; she asked questions, and gave me a space to think, and even ended giving advice and suggestions ! I'm naming her my unofficial co-DM now. It was nice to have someone know all the twists and the structure of the story, and to exchange ideas and jokes.
One thing I was very happy to do, and was very happy when my players talked about it saying I did a good job : PROPS ! The adventure as written has a few examples of message of hiring mercenaries, strange letters sent by a mysterious figure, etc etc. For one, I took time to write in ink (in my teenage years I was obsessed by calligraphy and I still have a quill), and for another I passed the paper in coffee and tea and then dried it to give it an ancient look. Props like this costs nothing but it's awesome.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During 2022 and 2023, 2 of my players had moved far away, but we managed to set up remote video calls for them, while us 3 others gathered 'round the table, and we even had an elaborate if precarious system to film the map during battles (pictured down). And yes for the final dungeon, I printed the map in extra-large, and ended using the wall to show the progress in exploring !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I won't recap all of the story, it doesn't matter in the end, everyone who's ever played knows that you can do an adventure 30 times and it will end up in 30 different stories. What's interesting was that the Lost Mine of Phandelver is described as "a perfect campaign to start playing" : that I agree with ; but that doesn't mean it does not need work. Thankfully the Internet is awesome, and since it's the most played adventure of 5E, a LOT of people have advices, do nots and dos, stories of their own campaigns, useful links and tools, etc. 1st lesson : if it exists already, use that shit. Use it like the world is ending tomorrow. At the start, I was doing this on my own volition, and prepping way too much, while being scared to change things. Then I was inspired reading reddits posts (yes, it happens), and seeing videos, and I started adding more details of my own - or stuff I borrowed from others Internet strangers. The paradox was that I was getting more comfortable while prepping less, because... I got the hang of it, I think it's what happened !
I still have some frustrations, some I shared last night with my players : easier-than-expected batles for my players (the 1st was a conscious act of mercy, and the battle ended way too quickly of course ; the 2nd was I forgot an important detail of the villain's weapon and could not use it, but in the end she had other stuff and the battle was still epic). 2nd lesson : listen to Matt Mercer when he says that as a DM, you really want to use the nuclear option in your opponent’s arsenal on the opening round. If you don't, you will have regrets. My other big frustration is about the player that decided to leave ; we just didn't understand the game on the same-level, but it makes me a little sad that she left before it could click for her, and we could truly talk about it. Especially since last night, I was overjoyed listening to my players talk each about their "epiphany" of how the game works, and how they got comfortable after feeling this truth, and seeing how "you don't win at D&D, the fun is everything else", and I was like yesssssss YOU you get it. 3d lesson : communication ! (it feels like there's still room for improvement, but we have a nice flow going).
All and all, it was an amazing experience, 10/10, will do it again ; and we will ! we agreed we will come back years from now to Faerûn ! and I'll be back as a DM ! and we'll do another written campaign continuing from level 5 (I know there's written options out there). In the meantime though, my sister is leaving our group just for this year, but we're going to keep playing at 4. And this time, I'll be a player !! One of my former players, the amazing @greetingsprogramms will be our DM : she already did 2 one-shots throughout the 2 years, and she did a fantastic job. We're going where a lot of fantasy people have not gone before : spaaaaaaace !

Writing suggestion: everyone congratulates Supermartian at the wedding reception, toast the happy couple and someone gives a heartfelt speech about everything they’ve been through especially their time apart in season 4. Pretty Please with a Cherry on Top. I will love you forever if you write this!
Given the circumstances and the haste of putting together a ceremony, it was a miracle that the wedding turned out as well as it did.
The catered dinner that M'gann and Conner had carefully tasted months ago was replaced with a mountain of pizzas. No dance floor, but their friends had managed to finagle a couple of speakers. Virgil and Cassie immediately shot up and dubbed themselves DJs for the night, so with all the drama out of the way, everyone could finally let loose and breathe again.
Though, the copious amounts of alcohol (generously donated by several leaguers, Artemis, Roy, and one brooding billionaire) certainly helped a bit.
"So, no speeches?" Dick asks, sipping from a dangerously pink concoction that Bart had dubbed 'the Supermartian'.
Conner raises a brow. "Did you write one?"
"Wait, wasn't that Gar's job?" Will asks, nodding at the green boy who seemed a little preoccupied with getting Lian and Amistad to stop chasing his new Corgi.
"I am afraid it was mine," Kaldur says, his cheeks a faint shade of cherry. Whether it was from the three glasses of champagne, the embarassment from not having a speech made, or from Wyynde perched across his lap, he couldn't tell. "You asked me to speak, and I admit I forgot."
M'gann laughs. "He asked you months ago. I think you're forgiven, Kaldur. We kind of nixed the whole speeches thing when we put this together."
"Uh, yeah, we kind of had other things going on." Artemis tips the rest of her drink into her mouth and sets the glass down. "I think it's a miracle we all just made it here."
"You're one to talk. Weren't you supposed to give a speech too?"
Artemis shoots a glare at her brother in law. "Again, months ago. I dub myself forgiven."
"Don't think that's really your call to make, 'Mis."
"She's forgiven." M'gann leans her head on Conner's shoulder. "But I'll take a toast, if any of you feel in the mood."
"Lord knows you guys need it," Zatanna giggles. "That's how many tragedies in the span of ten years?"
Raquel grins and raises a glass. "Zee's right. We need some good juju up in here."
She stands from the table, but before she can even begin to make her way to the front of the dance floor, the music stops. Everyone turns their gaze, only to be met with a frightening proposition: Icicle Jr. with a microphone.
"As the resident worst-man and the person who witnessed the official creation of this union, I want to give a toast!"
Horrified looks fill the room, and Icicle Jr.'s security guards quickly get up, but Conner waves them down. "Let him speak!"
"Thank you! Now, as I was saying... even though I totally met her first, and I thought she was your sister and you guys were into some real freaky stuff, I guess you guys are kind of a match made in... whatever! Though, I still think she would look way cooler with me."
The pun is met with audible groans, and from a distance, someone (Bart) questions the 'sister' part.
"Alls this to say is that I wish you guys every happiness in the world. A toast to the happy couple!"

Ted Lasso 3x10 Thoughts
I intended to write this last week, but I’ve been really busy. But 3x10 was a real joy, so I do want to capture something about it, so I’m just gonna try to quickly hit the highlights and any of it sounds similar to stuff I said in discord, so be it. 🙂
Rebecca spit tea in Ted’s face! She was planning it! He liked it! I loved it!
OK but really, everything about that moment…Rebecca reclaiming the Hockney, and the way it no longer signifies the loss of her marriage (and I think it’s so interesting that Rebecca says in 1x1 that she and Rupert bought it together on their fifth anniversary, but in this episode Rupert asks her about the Hockney he” bought for “her”), and now that it’s back on the wall the drawing is about football again, and she’s wearing a flowy pink dress reminiscent of what she wore on the boat in Amsterdam but this time it’s something she would have picked out and purchased herself that suits her perfectly, and the Hockney scene blends so perfectly into her telling Ted that her reasons for wanting to win. Exchanging victory plans followed by a quick but thorough dousing of liquid via spitting ritual…it was so 1x10 of them.
@talldecafcappuccino said something about Nate facing some of his worst fears (as articulated at the team movie night in s1) in this episode—he is unemployed, and he makes a return (albeit temporary) to his parents’ house—and that really stuck with me. That moment when he reminds his dad that he literally told him he hated the sound of Nate playing violin is a remember-forever moment for me. Some of the parents on this show are true villains, but I think it’s as important if not more important to depict the very real pain that comes from that mismatch between thought and speech, the damage that can be done bit by bit even when intentions are good, even when a parent genuinely desires good things for their child. I’m doing a terrible job articulating it, but I appreciated the small-yet-ultra-concentrated scale of all the Nate moments very much.
Speaking of the scale of things, the grand yet quiet gesture of Nate getting Rene from the sewers to let him into the club (why are sewers so important to this show?) to fix up the locker room for Will…the sprig of lavender…the simple heartfelt apology…the intentional use of “Wonder Kid." Loved it. Completely loved it. I’m really looking forward to what’s going to happen with Nate and Ted talk, but it was completely essential that he reaches out to Will first, and that it’s an action-oriented apology that is specifically about the nature of a kitman’s work.
Speaking again of the scale of things: Rebecca’s speech to the other potential Akufo League owners. I’m very glad it was a monologue and not a soliloquy. In-scene, non-fourth-wall-breaking speeches are always a tiny bit bigger than what my personal sensibilities w/r/t secondhand embarrassment would prefer. But they are essential to Ted Lasso. And I think Rebecca’s speech absolutely had to be scaled big—she literally made herself bigger right beforehand, in this lovely moment of honoring her child self and connecting to the silliness of the ritual and the absurdities of childhood and adulthood. And it had to be big because it was in front of Rupert, who has literally interrupted her mid-speech before, stealing all the thunder for himself. I really appreciated that Rupert becomes human before our very eyes, and that Rebecca is able to genuinely draw from the things that made her love him in the first place, while there is nothing unclear about how bleak and miserable and awful Rupert is. He fucking tries to kiss her after the cathartic moment with the speech and the food tantrum, and her rejection is so clear and strong. I can’t think of a better way to almost purely visually illustrate (although the words are important, Rebecca's face says it all) what it means for her to be free of the hold he had over her for so many years.
I am soooo excited that we (re)met Roy’s sister and she really is that doctor from the A&E and she’s awesome and clearly a very good and fun mom and she’s having such a good time teasing Roy out of love which is basically the adult version of the incredibly important role Phoebe plays in his life. Also, Elodie Blomfield is so good as Phoebe. The moment when she figures out the “Roy Kunt” kit is so great. And everything about Jamie being there and his familiarity with the family!?!
Roy and Keeley! Roy’s tiny terrible handwriting! I like that we didn’t get the big moment of Roy and Keeley kissing and reconnecting to each other, and I also like that we didn’t get the moment of Nate resigning from his job. In both stories, we got the most important gestures, the most important decisions that led up to these moments and came after these moments, and considering the show needed to go big for Rebecca’s speech I think it’s essential to have a little restraint elsewhere.
Barbara! Everything with the snow globe reimbursements! Ahhhhhhhh! Barbara is the coolest and I would pay the big bucks to hear Katy Wix talk (in a good thoughtful environment obviously) about her autism and her acting choices when playing Barbara because her timings are so incredible and so hilarious and she’s built a side character into someone who fully enriches the overall story and I assume it’s all connected but I’d love to hear about this role straight from the source. I was already such a Katy Wix fan from Taskmaster and reading some of her writing online, and she was just perfection in this episode.
Beard. Oh God. Beard. What are you doing. His grudge against Nate and the kind of willful immaturity of his character in this stage of his relationship with Jane. Other than the day out with Henry in 3x8, when is the last time Beard was critical and compassionate with anyone in his life? Ted looks so bummed about that axe-throwing offer. I think Beard had to know deep down that Ted and Roy were never in a million years going to be saying yes to this invitation; it’s not that Jane would want them there. I think 3x11 and 3x12 are going to have a lot of Ted-and-Beard by necessity and I’m basically on pins and needles.
I am nervous about many things for the rest of this season, not because I think they’ll be handled badly in the show but because I can see so many different possibilities (for the truth bomb, for all the moms, for what Rebecca understands about her life today and what it could be, same for Ted, same for Beard, because I feel like Ted has to leave in some way but something’s telling me it’s not as simple as leaving or not leaving) and it’s making me feel insane. But 3x10 was a wonderful time and the lavender sprig and the spitting hit that perfect sweet spot of callbacks that propel the narrative forward and I’m grateful to have had it.

Oh my goodness! I feel so honored! Thank you for all the love and kindness!
To celebrate, send me a character and a quote from the list below, and I'll write a little blurb to go with it! Obviously I love writing for Roy Kent, but check out my Masterlist if you want to see anyone else I enjoy writing for (or you can suggest someone! No guarantees but hey, maybe I'll find someone new to write for!).
**EVENT CLOSED**
(Quote sources are linked)
“Okay, maybe I have a crush on you! So what?”
“You haven’t changed at all.”
“I can’t believe you remembered.”
“You used to have feelings for me. Admit it.”
“I don’t want them. I want you.”
"You're so cool, it makes me hate you so much."
"I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you."
"Maybe I don't quite know what to say, but I'm here in your doorway."
"No, you idiot. I love you."
"I can't not love you. It's just not in me... crap, did I say that out loud?"
"I'm so scared that you'll never want to hold my hand again... and your hand is the only hand I want to hold."
"What makes you think I want to kiss you?"
“ just come over. “
“ i wouldn’t have called you if it wasn’t important. “
“ truth is that i’m so damn in love with you that i don’t know what to do with myself. “
“ may i have this dance? “
“ so… is this like, a thing now? “
“ do you think we should move in together? you spend all your time here anyway. “
❛ i can’t get enough of you. ❜
❛ i’m not jealous. ❜
❛ i won’t bite. unless you’re into that sort of thing. ❜
❛ what are you looking at? ❜
❛ are you wearing my shirt? ❜
❛ don’t mind me. just enjoying the view. ❜
"Are you joking?" "If I were you would be laughing."
“I could kiss you right now!” "You're very welcome to it."
“Why are you blinking like that with your eyes? Is everything ok?” “That was supposed to be a wink!”
“I like your costume, you look very cute.” “Are you making fun of me?”
“Aww, you’re blushing. I like that look on you.”
“Annoying you is what I’m best at.”
“You’re very lucky I love you.”
“Are you trying to flirt with me?” “Yes. Is it working?”
"You think I would be here if I didn't love you?"
"You have no idea just how much you mean to me."
"Goddamnit, I love you! Alright? Happy now? You figured out the big secret."
"You did this to me! You made me fall fucking head over heels for you."
"You're my bestfriend! We shouldn't- I shouldn't be feeling like this. Fuck."
i'm in my bed, you're in your bed. one of us is in the wrong place.
i fall for your smile every single time.
i don't want comfortable. i want passion.
“you know my mum likes you more than me, her own child” “can’t really blame her”
“my sister thinks that we’re dating”
I never had anyone to call my own.
What am I supposed to say when someone asks me if I still miss you?
"you’ve given me so many memories, i'd hate it if you become one"
"Does that mean we can finally kiss now?"
“you’re going on a date?” “well yeah..it’s not like we’re exclusive or anything right?” “yeah..yes ofc not” “yeah”
“we were never just friends, we aren’t just friends, and we will never be just friends”
“i always had a thing for you”
“could you..do that again?”
“how drunk were we?”
“you have NO IDEA how long i’ve wanted to do that” “you have no idea how long i’ve wanted you to do that”
"if we loved again, i swear i'd love you right."
"i wonder why we bother with love if it never lasts."
"cause i see sparks fly whenever you smile."
everything will be alright if you keep me next to you
i've been loving you for quite some time
i don't want to dance if i'm not dancing with you
they don’t know how much i miss you
“I’ve got a bit of a past.” “I don’t care.”
“See him? He’s mine. You know what that means? Back the hell up.”
“please don’t be in love with someone else. please don’t have somebody waiting on you”
“I can’t even listen to my favourite song without thinking about you!”
“He’s so perfect… and he doesn’t even know it.”
‘  we  were  something,  don’t  you  think  so  ?  ’
‘  if  my  wishes  came  true,  it  would  have  been  you.  ’
‘  i  don’t  quite  know  what  to  say,  but  i’m  here  in  your  doorway.  ’
‘ i  don’t  know  anything,  but  i  know  i  miss  you. "

how do you feel about Jade's half brother + will he be showing up in any of your fics ?
whoa, anon, are you in my head or something? i was literally thinking about him last night 😭 luke chaumont has only appeared one time in comics and it’s enough to send me into a late night spiral about jade and her family.
tw / abuse mention, trafficking mention
luke is someone i would love to see brought back into the fold because he opens up a lane where we can start to dig into jade’s story more. in only one appearance there are a few things we can glean about the chaumonts and luke in particular: jade’s family moved to australia after selling her, the chaumonts are wealthy, luke is her older brother, he is a respected (and likely high-ranking) agent in checkmate, and is aware that his sister is cheshire. all of that can be understood in one story and it makes for so much room to explore. it’s also worth noting that luke is clearly white-passing and a man while jade is neither. luke growing up in australia and becoming very successful while his sister was being subjected to multiple forms of abuse is a stark contrast to say the least. his entire life is the exact opposite of jade’s. basically, if you bring luke back into the fray then you can start examining andré and anna more. i really like the idea of all three of them knowing that she’s alive and knowing that she’s cheshire because that makes her a ghost made real. she’s always there, lurking, haunting, (staring back in anna’s case); a reminder that whether it be death or imprisonment, their reckoning is inevitable.
as for including him in my fics, i’ve been trying to figure out how to factor him into structural integrity (which will be published soon) but there’s so much i want to explore within that story since it’s the one that takes place in the “present”, and i have to be careful not to detract from the main point of the story (which is building a home literally and figuratively). so, i don’t think he’ll “physically” appear in that story but don’t be surprised if you see mentions of him because i am itching to write and explore jade’s reaction to lian and roy knowing luke. cause it’s like, her long lost brother has been to her daughter’s birthday parties, and is in a position where he can contact her and he just. hasn’t. crazy.
there is definitely a story idea that has lingered in my brain for quite sometime though where jade takes it upon herself to go find her family and possibly enact some much-needed vengeance (justice, really). something very cathartic, you know? again, jade functioning as the ghost of chaumonts’ past that is very much alive and in a position where her mere existence threatens whatever andré and anna have created in regards to their livelihood now is just too good.

Forgive me for having thoughts about Roy Mustang and his role in the war.
I am not a fan of saying a character "deserves" something, because that is a boring and reductive way to analyze media. Instead I want to move within the story and its narrative/thematic beats as I discuss a character and their interpretation. And as such, I want to talk about Roy.
He's a character I greatly enjoy - and how could I not?
The story of Fullmetal Alchemist wants me to be fascinated by this man, his guilt and his love and his dreams. We're being shown again and again that he would gladly die for his friends, that he cherishes the people around him, that he is weighed down by what he did during the war. We see his love and grief for Hughes, see it almost destroy him. We see his dedication to Riza and Havoc and the people of Amestris. We walk alongside him as he plans to overthrow the Führer and change the country.
And all the while... he's still a war criminal.
I'm saying that not to condemn enjoying his character, but to give him more depth. Because I won't lie - I am somewhat concerned by the amount of takes that "excuse" his actions as just following orders. Now, again, he's a fictional character, who doesn't have to be excused for anything considering the crimes he committed are not real... but the story of Fullmetal Alchemist wants us to view him as a war criminal - and it wants us to step away from the explanation that he was just following orders.
Very poignant in that regard is the scene between Hawkeye and Edward, when she first tells him of their goal - being tried for what they did in Ishval. And Ed wants to excuse it, he's the audience stand-in after all, he is us, wanting our favorite characters to have a better fate by claiming it was Envy, who shot the child, Bradley, who ordered the extermination. But Riza won't let him. Rightfully so. Because while Edward's (our) reaction is very natural, very predictable, her reasoning is the actual stance the show takes.
It doesn't matter if they were just following orders, they were the people committing a genocide.
Some of the translations of the manga and show even call it just that: a genocide.
And while a soldier killing in a war isn't condemned by the narrative, the things the State Alchemists did very much is.
But what should they have done instead? Refuse their orders, get court-martialed and executed? Join the war on the side of the Ishvalens?
Maybe.
I am not saying that Roy's inability to act against his orders is bad writing or inconsistent characterization, I simply think it doesn't "excuse" his actions in the story. And the story doesn't want us to excuse it for him either.
If anything, one of Roy's (and Riza's) biggest regrets is probably the fact that they didn't die at the beginning of the war - there is a reason they are implied to be actively suicidal after the end of the extermination, just as there is a reason why they are no longer striving to die quite this quickly by the time Ed is told the truth.
Dying in the war - dying at the start of the war at their own hands - would potentially have saved thousands. Dying as Father is trying to take control, their goals not yet reached, would only pile two more bodies onto a pile already too big.
Part of their guilt is the harsh truth that their death could have made a difference.
(refusing to partake in a genocide is always the right choice, even at the cost of your own life)
People call Major Armstrong a coward because his refusal to follow orders was only an option for him because of his family name - I think he's being called a coward by his sister because he wasn't strong enough to join the Ishvalen warriors. Yes, Armstrong wasn't court-martialed for his insubordination because of his connections but when he broke down and refused to kill, there was no way for him to know that. I don't think that he knew he would be spared when he clung to that child and begged for mercy - he hoped, perhaps, but he couldn't have known for sure.
And, yes, he is a coward - but not for refusing to kill. His cowardice stems from his inability to join the fight on the side of those he wanted to protect. That's why his character arc culminates in him standing up for his believes, in him refusing to back down, in him fighting for those who need protection.
The manga in particular makes it a lot harder to argue that the threat of death is a good enough reason to follow orders. It makes sense for the common soldier, who truly is just trying to survive, but for weapons of mass destruction? Is it really "right" for someone to stay alive if they know they can kill thousands with a snap of their fingers, knowing they will be forced to do just that?
During the Ishval arc in the manga, this very question is asked but not about Roy and Armstrong and Riza - no, we see its direct parallels in Marcoh, Knox and the Rockbells. Marcoh, who did unspeakable things far away from the actual battlefield, creating the very Philosopher's Stone used to kill the people he murdered to create it, and Knox, who is forced to help in inhumane experiments right next to the battlefield, maybe even employing Mustang in some of the unsavory things he does - the two of them talk about the Rockbells, who chose to help the Ishvalens against direct orders, who know they will probably die, who do the right thing even though they were told not to. And what do Knox and Marcoh see in them? They are envious of them for accepting their death as a potential consequence of doing the right thing.
Because Knox and Marcoh are following orders at the cost of their own soul - and they will never forget the guilt of knowing that they could have made a different choice.
Choice.
That's what it all boils down to. All these characters had a choice in Ishval. Not as humans, since they are fictional characters, but as archetypes and metaphors. Arakawa tells us again and again that there is a choice, always. The choice to be merciful, the choice to be kind, the choice to stand back up again.
Defying orders was a choice they could have made. Maybe at the cost of their own life, but then again: they are at war, they must have known their death to be a possibility from day one.
And this is what informs so much of Roy's character: he made a choice back in Ishval, and he's been paying for it ever since. He followed orders, even though he knew it was wrong. He bought into the military's propaganda until it was too late, and he killed thousands upon thousands because it was easier to follow along than to do what was right.
That's the bane of his guilt, the thing that now forces him to keep on living: following orders is never an excuse, especially not if you're a living weapon and you're willing to pull the trigger.
Roy wants to save his country, and then he wants to face the consequences of his crimes - and then, finally, the knowledge of flame alchemy can be gone.
No one should wield that amount of power, is what the story wants to tell us, because what if the person holding that weapon is ready to just follow orders.
It is utterly human how Roy behaved - and as such, it has the potential to be utterly depraved and cruel.
And he knows that.
As a fictional concept he "deserves" nothing as he is not real, but as a character within a narrative Roy carries every ounce of guilt on his shoulders knowing that this is the price he has to pay for being a soldier. A State Alchemist. The Hero of Ishval.
There is no excuse for what he did, which is what makes his character writing so intriguing.
Nothing ever excuses genocide, and Roy knows that - and that's why he's still alive.

Ted Lasso Wish List for S3E9-E12
(In no particular order)
Phoebe: I’ll be happy to see her again at all, but I want her adopt Jamie as her new cousin. We all know he would absolutely slay at Princess and Dragon.
Dump Jane, Coach!: For good. Even if it’s offscreen and mentioned in passing.
Trent Crimm’s Daughter: Now, please. I need to see AFC Richmond turning into a bunch of softies like they do for Henry.
Colin and Isaac BFFs: I am still beside myself over E8. If they break up as friends for good, I will have no faith left in humanity. My darling fashion-challenged boys, get your shit together and fix this.
Jamie’s Mum: I don’t even need to see her on screen - just assure me she did everything she could to kick James Sr to the curb, keep her kid as far away from him as she was legally allowed, and tell me her fate.
More Bumbercatch: That chaotic little gremlin has said the wildest shit in passing this season and I never want it to end.
Roy’s Sister.: Even if it’s just once, to make a cheeky joke at Roy’s expense, I need to meet her.
Dump Jack, Keeley!: She treats Keeley like a pet or a novelty, not a partner or a person. She doesn’t even trust Keeley to hire her own office staff or write her own PR statement.
A Full Pack of Diamond Dogs: Ted, Beard, Higgins, Trent, and Roy, not just occasionally swearing from his office, but talking about his actual feeling.
Will someone please tell Jamie why he was really sent back to Man City?: They don’t even need to be specific - just let that poor boy know his coaches/dads really did want him around and it wasn’t his fault.
Rebecca gets to be a mum.: I don’t care if Sassy dies and she ends up with Nora or she hooks up with Ted and becomes Henry’s bonus mum or adopts an orphan or just figures out she already has a couple dozen very sweet, very dim sons - give my girl her one true wish.
Dump Dr Jacob, Michelle!: I don’t care that she’s got a boyfriend, but I very much care he was her ex-therapist. Your man is deeply unethical at best and creepy and malicious at worst.
The Family Higgins!: Even if it’s just Julie that makes a return, I’ll be happy to see any and all of their lovely faces.
Miscellaneous Himbo Shenanigans: All specific himbo-related requests are listed above. I just want as much of our sweet summer children being good friends and ridiculous humans as we can get.
And, the one which absolutely will not happen, but God I’d love it:
Bex gets West Ham in the divorce.: Series ends with her redecorating Rupert’s office just like Rebecca did is S1E1.

Ted Lasso 3.10 live blog...
Ooh, I knew Nate would lose something with that choice to defy Rupert... has he departed on his own terms or was he fired?
Love Sky Sports doing the exposition, though.
Ted: "Bumbercatch, you're Swiss?" Moe: "Yeah, look at me."
"Godspeed, or whatever your deity chooses to self-medicate with." - I'll have to remember that one.
LOL... Dani is a completely different person when he's playing for his country. Love it.
tedbecca... NOT talking about periods. :D
Oh, there's added Trent, who is excellent at girl talk.
DON'T BE INVOLVED IN A SUPER LEAGUE! IT'S WHAT DESTROYED AUSTRALIA'S RUGBY LEAGUE CODE!
Rebecca has Rupie down as "The Devil".
Nate: "Am I an idiot?" Jade: "Sometimes, yes."
Oh, he quit. Good.
And... yep. Jack's revenge or something. This has been a let down of a storyline for Keeley. Only good part of it is Barbara.
Why you wearing red again Ted? Is it another String of Fate episode?
Go away, Rupert!
YAY PHOEBE'S MOM IS THE SAME DOCTOR AS FROM "MAN CITY”!
And... wait, Jamie's here? Oh, Roy talks about him all the time?
Wait... the shirt is tiny. Did Roy just fill out more? Or was there laundry-related shrinkage involved?
Honestly, I do love seeing Roy dumbfounded.
Jamie: "Your sister is fit." Roy: "I will cut your eyes out." *Jamie laughs*
Edwin Akufo does revenge too.
Billionaires be crazy.
Aw, Keeley... going through the motions of losing your job.
Higgins with the hot tea in his lap again... I don't think he's having any more kids.
A Mae & Keeley scene. We've never had one of those before, have we? Ooh, this is quite interesting. And informative... and this is the last season or is a 4th likely? Because I needs me some more Mae&Keeley time.
LIGHTNING, YOU SAY?
ROY'S WALKING IN WITH HIS SHIRT FROM PHOEBE, ISN'T HE? BRILLIANT.
Laughing Liam!
Text from Rebecca: "Are you alive? Text 'no' if dead." IDK but that sounds like a thing Ted might say.
Mexico vs Canada... Dani, wow. I hope you're super apologetic later.
WELL... THERE'S THE CLEAREST SIGN I'VE EVER SEEN. GREEN MATCHBOOK AND GREEN SOLDIER. I think we were right tedbecca fandom... *squees*
Roy's had enough of the tie-dye now that Keith is sporting one too.
Hey, now. You don't just ditch a Phoebe present. There's a good lad. Come back for it.
Rebecca gearing herself up for this meeting, and... little girl! I wonder if that's the "Dutch girl" from the callout being re-used for a much better purpose.
Roy wearing Phoebe's shirt at her school.
Ms Bowen: "I like cleaning up a mess. Hope it didn't cause too much damage." Roy: "Fuuuuuudddge."
Barbara in casual wear. "Juicy"... Now I really want my crackship of Jamie/Barbara.
60 quid snowglobe? Keeley.
Nate's... searching for who he used to be?
And Roy's buying something?
Oh... violin, Nate? I could never do the shaky hand thing. I was in an orchestra that had concerts - I was in first violins too! But I grew to hate playing it, so I stopped at 13yo. Moved onto clarinet... which was tough on my lips & lungs more than my arms & neck. Now can't play any instrument due to my disability. Piano maybe, if I had the energy.
Yay, Rebecca, with the voiceover! Also, she's completely right.
And... she somehow got through to Rupert. On this matter, anyway.
And... thank you Mr Shelley for FINALLY apologising. Nate'll be able to talk to Ted properly now (but I also need him to make amends with Will).
And... I knew Rupert would try that, but Rebecca has well & truly moved on from you Devil.
FINALLY ROY&KEELEY TIME.
Lovely apology letter, Roy. But, yeah, your hand-writing is... way too tiny.
Wait, Keeley's walking out of frame... to Roy?
Happy Shelley Family Time.
Change of outfit... who's at Keeley's door? REBECCA!
They talking, and talking, and... oh, Roy's there in a dressing gown. Guess they're back on.
Will! And... he's walking in to find everything's already done. I HOPE that's because Nate's done it for him & is making amends... But also, how did he get in there?
A bit of lavender on the note.
I understand he can't quite face him yet (or Ted for that matter)... but THANK YOU NATE.
AND BARBARA'S BACK!
And everyone's back... and Dani? Ok. No apologies there. He's just one of those Jekyll/Hyde characters.
Is that Keith's shirt, Roy?
AND... MORE TEDBECCA!
Sitting very close... and she's wearing PINK!
And then blasting tea at Ted's face like he did with the sparkling water at the end of s1.
Y'know, this means they've basically kissed now.

So everything you’ve said about the team/family dynamics in your baby!jamie au is making me VERY excited for when we get to those parts - so in the meantime, what scenes set a bit further down the track when Jamie is full and wiling member of the richmond fam are you really looking forward to writing? E.g. bonding moments with the team, any au canon scenes that you’re really looking forward to including in this fic, ect.
OHHHHH GOSH THANK YOU FOR ASKING THIS (and for being excited for the fic in general!). there is SO MUCH i'm looking forward to but some specific things in particular come to mind that i'm just dying to get to, and here is an incomplete list in no particular order:
there's some scenes with jamie and the kids of the canon orbit - phoebe, henry, nora - that i'm really jazzed to get to. it's very fun to see how he slots into those dynamics at this age, how he'd interact with them and how they'd see him and vice versa. particularly in the space between season 2 and season 3, that summer where henry is visiting for a good long while.
the uncle's day scene from season 3. there's an au version of that scene that i am positively losing it thinking about and i'm so psyched to get to it. a lot of scenes involving the character of roy's sister tbh - who i am once again calling 'sarah' - but that one in particular bc of its canon basis.
some harder stuff too. like, as much as it's gonna hurt like hell there are some more difficult bits i'm really looking forward to getting to explore. the amsterdam stuff, and other things i've mentioned. it's gonna be difficult but really cathartic to work through and emotionally rewarding to be able to take my time with, i think.
roy's retirement press conference. that's a little before he's really fully like. all in but it's a major turning point and i'm including it in this list sldkjfs
rebecca's dad's funeral. it's obviously. uh. very different, for some reasons that i assume go without saying at this point, but i've got some plans for it that i'm really looking forward to.
there's also some stuff that while not necessarily after he fully commits and is Part Of The Team is still along that direct path and that i'm really invested in re: dani's bout of the yips.
is it cheating if i say all of dani in general. because i love their dynamic in canon and i love it in this au too, it's. ough there's so much there to dig into.
some scenes in sam's restaurant, too. i've got some stuff planned with that that's just. pretty straightforwardly domestic and adorable and i'm very much looking forward to it.
i could go on forever but i'll stop myself here sldkfjs

Jade Nguyen, you can consider the YJ and comics version seperately if you want.
Have a nice day!
(I wrote the reply to this post yesterday but then I went to add tags and the whole thing fucking glitched so. here I am again lol)
First impression: I met her on YJ, and I liked her! I love a messy sister-sister dynamic. As for the comics, I don't have much of an opinion yet, though I do enjoy the dynamic I've seen with Roy so far. I kinda wish she had an Artemis there, though :/
Impression now: in YJ, I still like her and enjoy her as a character. In the comics, see above.
Favorite moment: her horror when Lian puts on Cheshire's mask.
Idea for a story: she has her lil' part in my long YJ project, but if I were to write something for her, it'd be a character-study type of one-shot in three parts, with focus on her relationship with her mother, her sister, and her daughter.
Unpopular opinion: *someone says something bad about Jade* ok *her mother says something bad about Jade* she has NEVER done ANYTHING wrong in her ENTIRE life!!!1
Favorite relationship: Jade-Artemis.
Favorite headcanon: she and not!Roy-Will fall into bed together again every couple of years or so.

OKAY THE END OF FARGO I AM SCREAMING OH MY GOD!!!!!!
Spoilers ahead, obviously
AHHHH WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK!!!!
Okay. Breathing. So I'm pretty disappointed that Roy lived, BUT I am SO impressed with Lorraine and the way she talked to him at their visit. At least he's suffering - that's all I really care about in that department.
I'm still not totally sure what's up with Munch, and I don't know if we'll ever really know, but I'm settling on he's kind of this immortal being basically sent to cause suffering and consume souls? Soul eater, right? I don't know. Demonic, maybe, or older still. But either way, I was IN LOVE with not only the way he helped Dot at the ranch, but also his reaction to the biscuits.
Dot's whole speech on "maybe debt should be forgiven" was amazing, and I totally agree, and it warmed my heart. A+ addition. ALSO, the way she held Gator - the way she softened with him as he talked about his mom. Oh my god. Instant tears. I cried almost every time I saw him after his eyes were taken. "The useless hand," sweet fucking christ. I can't with that.
I wish we would have gotten to see more of Dot and Gator in the future, but it is what it is. We can write fics about it lol.
ALSO WHAT THE FUCK?!?!??! LAMORNE!?!?!?! NO. I AM SO UPSET THAT FARR DIED. That should have been different. That pain was so unnecessary, and I'll never forgive them, but it is what it is. He was the best. His six sisters and his cat named Lucky. I cried at that, too.
All in all, DEFINITELY recommend. I was on the edge of my seat with each episode that came out, and I generally enjoyed the story and all of the characters and their dynamics. Would watch again for sure.
