Mafia Trilogy Photos for Peter Parker's House

For @kingfalconcombos's copy of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, I created a Mafia-themed collage to replace the portraits in Peter Parker's house.

Mafia (2002) modding: Installing Custom Playermodels.

Learned how to install a custom playermodel for the original Mafia game! First thing I did was to replace Tommy with Big Smoke. Credit: Huckleberrypie on Gamebanana is the original modder.

I made a quick guide for everyone on how to install custom playermodels for the original game featuring this mod. This is separate from the Definitive Edition.

DETAILED INSTALLATION STEPS BELOW:

Requirements:

Own a PC copy of Mafia 2002. Available on Steam Store.

- MafiaDataXtractor.exe. Available on NexusMods. (Skip to Step 6 if you don't want to do the extraction process).

Zip-file of Huckleberrypie's mod: Big Smoke (Mafia) for both Tommy and Sam on Gamebanana.

INSTALLATION STEPS:

After downloading MafiaDataXtractor, drop it in the following folder path: steamapps < common < Mafia < Mafia < Drop file here.

Yes, there are two Mafia folders. The one you'll need to drop it in is the second Mafia folder. (ex: Mafia < Mafia < Put the MafiaDataXtractor here)

2. Open MafiaDataXtractor.exe. You should receive a prompt that asks you what you'd like to extract.

3. Select "a2.dta - Models." It might ask you an additional question considering the program itself or the game may be updated. Click "Yes" for the second question.

4. Wait for the extractors to finish loading.

5. Once the extractor finishes loading, you should see a new folder created inside of your 2nd Mafia folder < models.

6. Go back to your Big Smoke mod folder. If you need further help than this quick tutorial, read the readme Huckleberry included inside.

7. Inside the folder, copy the maps and models folder for Tommy. Drag and drop them into the current Mafia folder you're in. File Explorer will automatically replace any of the default files that has the same name.

Breakdown if you still need further help: Inside of BigSmoke's folder, drag and drop the file named "melvin_diff.bmp" into Mafia's Maps folder. This indicates that a custom texture will be used for a custom player model rather than a retexture. Do the same thing for the models.

Optional 7.1: If you want to install the files for Sam, copy the maps folder first. Then, you'll want to go inside the folder named models (Sam), and then drag and drop them into the original models folder. Just as the same steps for replacing Tommy's playermodel and textures.

8. Once you've finished doing that, pull up your Mafia game. Tommy's player model should be replaced by Big Smoke's playermodel complete with the custom textures the original modder put.

If you see Big Smoke, congratulations! You learned how to replace original models and textures, and learned how to use the MafiaDataXtractor tool if you want to do some modding of your own.

If you don't see Big Smoke's model nor textures, there might've been a step missed. Again, read the readme that the original author has put in their file.
