Sanji yawned as he excited the bathroom, his hair still damp from his shower. He would love a nap, but he had far too much to get done today. He slipped into the galley, and Mr. Noddles starched from where he was curled up on the same stoll from yesterday and hopped down, meowing up at him.

“Are you hungry boy? Ready for breakfast?” Sanji opened the fridge and took out butter, the marmalade since he hasn't had the time to make more jam, whole sardines, chicken, a bit of liver and kidney for Mr. Noodles breakfast. He would need to dehydrate the organ meats to use for Mr. Noodles food, that way he had it readily available. If they could get fresh game that would be prefect.

Sanji placed the dish on the floor and Mr. Noddles attack the food in a very Luffy esce style. He turned his attention to the stove to start his breakfast while he planed the crews meals for the day.

He took a seat with his tea, toast and notebook. He keep a running list of everything about the ship, he could make shakuka for brekasfast with extra meat for luffy, tuna poke bowls for lunch with tuna steaks for luffy, maybe some ricotta and lemon pasta for dinner again extra for the bottomless pit of a Captain, semla for dessert. He had some fresh cardamom pods he wanted to use and it wasn't too sweet.

Sanji wanted to keep busy today so he wouldn't have time to think about last night. He felt embarrassed that he had gotten so upset at Zoro last night. It was a mix of things, he had been mocked during sex before and hated it, unfortunately with Zoros green hair it had also brought back memories of Yonji. Every if his shity family wasn't shitty he wouldn't want to think of them during sex.

While in the middle of mixing the paste with the cabbage, a pair of arms warped around his waist and a head rested between his shulder blades. Zoro muzzled againt the back of his shirt like a giant cat.

“Wow your up early, thught you'd still be sleeping,”

“Couldn't sleep any more after you left,” the green haired swordsman mumbled. “Why do you have to wake so early anyway?”

“I'm used to it, I like to have a bit of time to myself to drink tea, eat and plan out the meals for the day, some of us actually ha e jobs Marimo,” Sanji couldn't help but tease.

“Hey! I have a job, I'm the frist mate I protect the crew,” Zoro lifted his head and placed it on sanjis shulder. “It's to fucking early start shit Ero-cook,”

“Here,” Sanji held up a gloved hand, a pice of kimchi in his fingers. “Try this see if you like it before the fremastion,” Zoro allowed Sanji to feed him a bit of the red coated cabbage leaf.

“Mmm little spicy but good, more?”

“It's not that spicy, here have a piece of the core,” Sanji gave him another piece.

“Hmm maybe you just burned all your taste buds off, more,” Zoro demanded, his mouth open and waiting.

“Here the middle part, it's got the core and a leaf, next I'll let you try a piece of radish but that's it,” Sanji popped the piece into the swordsman's mouth.

“Stingy,” Zoro spoke before chewing after he ate the radish he spoke again. “I like that one it's crunchy,”

Iori: Bringing rice bran pickled vegetables such as cucumbers and aubergines along, on an ascetic pilgrimage where you walk roughly 30 kilometers on a mountain ridge for 1000 days. At the end of it I’ll have become a high monk. Thereupon the pickled vegetables in rice bran will incarnate a flavour of the ultimate enlightenment comparable to a high monk. However it is said that more or less the maker doesn’t make it out alive so while the pickled vegetables come back home, I probably won’t.

Iori: Ahaha! That’s so hilarious!~~

Rikai: Iori-san! How are we supposed to feel about eating pickled vegetables we obtained in exchange for your life!

Iori: Well, time for the pilgrimage~

Rikai: Don’t go! Also it takes 1000 days!? We’ll starve to death at that point. Please just cook ordinary dinner in an ordinary waaay!!

Fumiya: We’re back

Iori: Ah.

Sarukawa: What’cha doin’ here

You know how hard it was to like, look stuff up about gymnastics? I don’t even know a single thing about gymnastics, and now you want me to read about it in Japanese to properly find a way to explain it? Not only that, you want me to translate it into English that uses completely different terms and moonsault in English is actually a wrestling move and has nothing to do with gymnastics in the slightest? And then also apply it to making udon? And then also make sure it makes sense so it’s funny and people get the joke? Are you KIDDING me? And then there’s an other whole part about Buddhism and asceticism as if the first part wasn’t enough??????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Sorry. That’s all. I’ll read about every single gymnastics move in the entire world to be prepared for next time.

Won’t be on much today. I promised the other Chi that I’d stick around with the Link, now that I have a large abundance of Faith - even if I don’t quite approve about the way I got it. Too late to complain now. I guess.

Talking with her made me realize that there’s no holiday festivities with her - at least not until the Lunar New Year. Winter to her is associated with famine and eating sweet potatoes and cabbage for a long time.  At least living in the city allows her to get some imports from the more prosperous Southern regions, so it’s not all bad. The brothel she stays in apparently does better in winter, for lack of things to do - hmm, I wish I didn’t think of the awkward form of that statement.

In any case, keeping her company. Turning my phone off now.

Part 56 – 45 Pieces, Or 45 Trays?

Though your emotion started shaky early in the morning, however, you are thankful that your mood is getting better as the hour goes by.

As your husband advised you earlier, you are now preparing the treats for the family’s adorable corgi, Mongryong. You remember the recipe well by now, and you have no problem preparing it from your memory. Meanwhile, you let your husband helps you in the preparation as well, so that Mongryong will feel the love given by both of you, though sometimes you need to take care of your husband’s happy hands as well.

“Sweetie, we need to boil the chickpeas first, right?”

“Yup. Actually, we need to prepare the sweet potato first. So, cut the sweet potato, soak them in cold water to remove the starch and cook them in the oven for a few minutes to soften them.”

Your husband carefully follows your instruction so that he will not ruin the process.

While he takes care of the sweet potato, you boil the water and cut the carrots first, then add the chickpeas into the boiled water. While waiting, you check your husband’s progress. “Everything okay so far with the sweet potato, hubby?”

“Yup, I’m okay. The sweet potato is almost done. I just have to take it out, and…. there you go” you clap at his positive progression.

“Nice! Okay. Let the sweet potato cool down. Please help me cut the cabbage, hubby?” you ask him politely.

“Sweetie…. you do know how I handle the cabbage last time…”

“That’s fine, you can just clean the mess later” you giggle. All of a sudden, he gets closer to you. “Which mess are you talking about, sweetheart….hmm?” you continue to giggle while playfully hitting his chest when you hear his question. He smiles brightly and takes his chance to kiss you.

“Hubby, let’s continue! Cut the cabbage, please. Oh gosh, the chickpeas” both of you quickly return to the Earth; you sift out the chickpeas from the pot full of boiled water, while Baekhyun slowly prepares the cabbage.

Then, after cutting the chicken, you add the ingredients to the mixer. After mixing them, your husband takes a tray mould. You swiftly stop him before he takes the dough and adds to the mould. “Hubby, have you laced the mould with the coconut oil?”

“Ahh! I’m sorry! I haven’t” but you only smile. You quickly take the coconut oil and lace them on the tray mould, then you let him add the dough inside and make a shallow hole in the middle.

“17 minutes, right?” your husband asks your confirmation before he puts the dough into the air fryer. You just nod at him.

While waiting for the dough, you move on to make the filling. Both of you peel the sweet potato. However, when you add them to the mixer, he eats them instead.

You look at him….

He looks at you too.

He thought that you must have been upset, but he is totally wrong. You are laughing at his cheekiness and continue preparing the filling. After the sweet potatoes have been blended, you ask your husband to take another pot.

You add the blended sweet potato, water, and agar to thicken them.

And, 17 minutes have passed. The moment Baekhyun takes the dough out, you have ready the filling. You add the filling in the middle. After that, your husband takes them and keeps them in the fridge. You clean the kitchen right away as you don’t really fancy seeing an unorganised kitchen. Your husband knows about it and helps you right away.

After cleaning, both of you take a seat on the couch while thinking about what to cook for dinner. “Shall we let the treats overnight?” you wonder.

“Yeah, better be like that. If we let it outside, I’m afraid it will turn bad” you agree with your husband. “But, I’m curious about one thing” he continues.

“What is it?”

“The proportion we made today…. Were you purposely made 45 pieces of treats, just for Mongryong?”

You let out a laugh. “I was thinking 45 trays at first, but since we don’t have many trays, I just made 45 pieces of treats then.”

“I’m pretty sure about this time. He will be overweight” you continue to laugh when hearing your husband’s response.

“Well, I hope not! They can keep the treats for another day, though. No need to give him all at once. I hope he likes it though.”

“He will like it. He never rejected any food though” your husband could only shake his head while smiling upon recalling memories of his adorable corgi.

The Lucky Dragon, Chapter 4: Yuri's Day Off

Yuri sat at one of the pool bars in the biggest pool at the resort, sipping a Death in the Afternoon as he people-watched. Today was his day off, and he liked spending his days off enjoying the Lucky Dragon’s resort amenities, reading, or gardening. (He also liked spending his days off enjoying the company of his boyfriends, but they were all sadly working at the moment.)

His thoughts drifted to his boyfriends, and he smiled serenely as he began daydreaming about them. He felt so lucky to have them all. Hmm, maybe he should get them all a bouquet of flowers to show them his appreciation. Yuri usually gave his boyfriends flowers that had special meanings, like pansies which meant thinking of you, and roses which were famous for being romantic flowers. Yuri had worked at a flower shop before he started working at the Lucky Dragon, and he was quite fluent in flower language. It was actually how he’d first confessed his feelings to his boyfriends, giving them red tulips as a declaration of eternal love and passion.

Yuri smiled as he finished his drink, hopping off the pool barstool and swimming to the edge of the pool where his phone was. He opened the app for his old workplace and placed an order for four bouquets of flowers for his precious boyfriends, with roses, pansies, heliotropes (which meant devotion and eternal love), red tulips, and red chrysanthemums (meaning love and deep passion). Yuri smiled as he paid for the order, knowing that his boyfriends would love the flowers.

The summer sun was starting to get a little warm for Yuri’s tastes, so he hopped out of the pool and grabbed his towel. His pale skin burned very easily when exposed to sunlight, which was why he preferred to swim when it was cloudy. There had been plenty of clouds earlier when the cabbage-head had gotten into the pool, but those clouds had since cleared.

The cabbage finished drying off and headed into the resort hotel. He would spend some time checking on his plants. One of the terraces of the penthouse suite had been converted into a rooftop garden that Yuri loved to spend time in. His precious plants were thriving from his care, and Yugo liked to joke that the terrace looked like a jungle.

“Hello, my lovelies!” Yuri purred as he stepped onto the terrace. “Did you miss me?” He had read scientific articles claiming that talking to plants and playing music for them helped them grow, so he always chatted with his garden. He also left a radio on the terrace to play classical music whenever he was away. And it seemed like the music and talking really did help his garden thrive.

Yuri began telling his garden some stories about the last few days as he tended to the plants. The rose bushes needed a bit of pruning, and Yuri was very gentle as he trimmed them. “Remember that horrible lady I was telling you about the other day? Well, it turns out she’s Zarc’s cheating ex, and she snuck back into the casino yesterday! She tried to use her own dice at Yugo’s table, but he and Yuto didn’t let her. And then she had the nerve to complain about them to Zarc. But don’t worry, Zarc kicked her out again. And he called the police too! Hopefully she doesn’t show her face around here anymore!”

He continued chatting about this and that as he tended to his garden. It was so relaxing taking care of his beloved plants. The cabbage had always had a strong green thumb, and he couldn’t even remember a plant ever dying in his care. Heck, he’d even been able to save a plant that was near death when he received it. That plant was now happily hanging from a pot next to the door to the terrace.

Yuri was so laser focused on his garden that he didn’t notice his phone ding until it dinged four times. When he finally did notice, he gently set his watering can down and checked his messages.

Zarc: Aw, thanks for the flowers, Yuri! They’re lovely!

Yugo: Yeah, thanks Yuri! That’s so sweet of you!

Yuto: They smell so nice! My players were so jealous!

Yuya: Awww! Yuri! You’re so sweet! <3

Yuri: I’m glad you like them. You all mean so much to me! <3<3<3<3

Though they were all in different areas and couldn’t see each other, all five of them were smiling with light blushes on their faces. They all loved each other very much, and couldn’t wait to see each other again.

Potato medallions with onion, sweet pepper, button mushrooms and red cabbage seasoned just with salt and pepper and a splash of vinegar, side of Light Life bacon strips

LUNCH 

Improvised cauliflower, corn, potato soup, with pink beans, lots of black pepper, garlic, leeks, olive oil, green onion, jalapeño, a little bit of Daiya cheddar†, nutritional yeast, a little pink salt…hmm…what else…oh! almond milk…and topped with cilantro and a tortilla on the side

DINNER 

After a super late lunch, snacky vegan charcuterie board for dinner and wine and sparkling water. Various vegan cheeses and meats and hummus and fruits and artichokes etc.

† We highly, highly recommend using Daiya Block and shredding/cutting like you would a dairy cheese. We do NOT condone the shredded bag stuff, not yummy.
