random but rewatched this tangled song to take notes on how to draw golden hair (for prince jesse ofc🤧) and it p much confirms what I thought before... the look of shininess is created when there's lots of contrast...

u can see in these stills her hair is not just a medium yellow/blonde the entire time but has (fairly big!) areas of dark brown as well as super bright highlights when in direct light... im gonna make a note to be more liberal with the darker sections when drawing golden blonde hair🤔 bc we(or at least I) normally just think of blonde hair as being yellow so we might not consider there to also be dark brown in it...

I drew these originally to be Amelia O'Brien from 'tales from the gas station' but I wound up liking the design I came up with a lot. She came out really cute. So maybe I'll change her to be an oc instead of a headcannon for a book. I'll be tagging her as Amelia too just in case.

#ripped all of them from a webbed site and made them transparent + reduced their noise #didnt wnat to get into the nitty gritty though so theyre kinda shitty #nitty gritty of high saturation low contrast color in the bg and making them transparent by hand #I also couldve increased the fill size of the paint bucket but i didnt want to do that incase it fucked up the images #so they all have a tiny white outline #and greg has like one ehite spot that i straight up couldnt see against the transparent bg #so oh well #shiko speaks

question: I used to be able to take screenshots of anime on my smart phone, and now the screenshots are black…how do you get your shots of the anime? They always look so good, btw

oh yes, if you try to take screenshots on apps like netflix, hulu, crunchyroll, etc. it'll make the image black because it's against their policy to take screenshots

so in order to take screencaps, I have to use a totally legal website, animixplay.to is usually what I use because it has high picture quality and no watermarks. the only issue is it has a lot of ads, so I recommend installing an adblock browser to help with that, or simply downloading the episode to your phone

you can also use zoro.to, it has less ads, and I usually go here if I need to take a screencap without subtitles being in the way, cause you can turn them off. the only issue is the picture quality is slightly worse than animixplay, if things are moving too much sometimes the screenshot will come out grainy

#if the image comes out too low quality for your liking I recommend using an upscaler #such as waifu2x #sometimes it can help to make the image look more high quality #you can also shove the picture in an editor and up the sharpness / contrast #I hope this helped anon 🙏 #ask mags

oh. cool, tumblr mobile entirely got rid of the recommended posts/explore tab.

the "for you" tab only ever shows me stuff from people i follow. the only way i can view stuff beyond the circles i find myself in is to follow a bunch of tags, then use the "your tags" tab...

but this also clutters the primary dashboard, bc i'll get posts that are labeled "because you follow [insert hashtag]". and they're often duplicates of what i see in the "your tags" tab.
