Beauty of the Mundane
Set in the Biting the Hand that Feeds AU
just a lil drabble I thought about while drawing this attack for @xitsensunmoon !!!
in which you literally do nothing, and Moon has a bit of a crisis
Tumblr media
It was a normal day, all things considered. You took a late night shift today, and besides the normal trials and tribulations of being a doctor in this city, there wasn't anything really to complain about. No Karens, no lifethreatening emergencies, and you even got a thank you card from a boy you helped through your donations  And even though your eyebags were noticable and your body tenser than a taut bowstring, you took your wins when you could. You open your door and even cook dinner that night (yay!) while chatting up a storm with your vampiric roommates who are secretly as overjoyed as you that you had a good day. After a shower and a clean change of clothes, you all but flop into Moon's arms with a one round trip to dreamland. The routine started as a teasing remark one cold night, Moon recalls, the heater was busted and the poor human was shivering like a leaf. So, as a suggestion ( with no ulterior motives of course), he offered his lap as a solution. He does have a wonderfully warm fluffy coat, you know. He was met by flimsy excuses paired with embarrassed expressions the first few times, but he knew you couldn't resist him in the end. Soon, it became a part of everyday life with your lunar-themed friend: he gets your blood, gets to be by your side while you rest, and teases you all the times in between. Rinse and repeat for basically the foreseeable future. Moon looks down at your resting features now as his reminscing is interrupted by gentle snores. You looked so peaceful, the day's stress washed away entirely as you lay in the glow of moonlight. A certain feeling begins to creep up in the vampire's mind as he sits with you, he can't quite put a name to it. It was nice though. Being depended on, he thinks. Your relationship with the brothers were a little (a lot) parasitic in nature. It was nice to be able to give something back that wasn't the excuse of "entertainment" or "better food". The feeling sort of stews for a few minutes in Moon's mind.... ...Until, like a panther after stalking its prey, the feeling is suddenly realized and had you not been currently in Moon's lap, he would have jolted with a concerning violence. His usual smug smirk now reduced to a stunned expression and eyelights completely dark. He likes this. This meaning the quiet moments with you. Not just the playfulness and drinking of your blood -- both great things do not get him wrong -- but the everyday moments. The domesticity. And as he spirals, he realizes something else. Nothing about the individual parts of your with him relationship really have anything in common. Not the blood, not the quick witted conversations, and most certainly not these late nights. Nothing....except you. Maybe, just maybe...that means he likes you more than he thought. As he looks down at you again, it feels more special this time. As if time has stopped just for Moon to drink in all of your features, to try and figure you out as you slumber. And that's the kicker, he thinks. You did nothing but sleep and yet you managed to get a rise out of him. He quietly chuckles. You really are something. He thinks back to the first time you met. And then all the memories that happened in between then and now, good and bad. He looks back down at you. Yeah, you really are something.

also. remember my au where marcy's olivia's daughter and in general the girls get to amphibia earlier? yeah so i maybe wrote something.
something...like a fanfic maybe...small thingie...tee-hee.
sasha, in the throne room, in front of king andrias, is studying her surroundings and, to her shock, notices barely standing still marcy next to a blue newt – the royal advisor.
"mar…marcy?" sasha didn't really plan to start talking before she's permitted to, out of respect, but the surprise in her voice was really clear. marcy regina wu, in all her grace, but somehow with a tail(…?!), was trying not to shout and nodded in excitement.
"now hold on, what are you doing here? for how long..?" "SASHA!! hi-hi-hi-hi– oh, i've missed you so much!! i didn't believe i'll see you or anne ever again, but here you are – first anne, now you!!" "anne is here?.." "she sure is!– well, not exactly here-here, but she's staying in newtopia with her family for the agricultural – and i hope annual from this moment on, andrias, – festival! and, OOOH, i have so much more to–" "mar-mar, hold your horses," sasha takes a deep breath to process given information. she forces a smile. "hey, how about: we sort things out with my super-important meeting with the king and then we-e…discuss everything? and then you'll help me catch up to everything, okie, mar-mar?"
marcy, in fact, looked at her a little dumbfounded, and then embarrassingly looked away at the wall.
"oh yeeah…i kind of forgot that this was supposed to be an official meeting, haha."
after those words, royal advisor's daughter tried to make the most calm and collected pose she could. making a pause, sasha turned her attention to the giant newt in front of her.
"king andrias, i'm just a passerby, but i think i have something information about might be hidden from the prying eyes. i– i understand that i might not be qualified worthy either, but i need to know…" under the king's interested gaze, she took out of her small worn-out bag…
"OH, that's the box we found! it was with you the whole time?!"
and, once again, the order was broken by marcy's shout, to which lady olivia called her off with a strict gaze, getting an apology in return.
"i found it in the forest not so long ago. so…what? i want to know how it's connected to what happened." she looked at the king, who put on his glasses to take a better look at the artifact.
"well, that's an interesting finding. you see, marcy already told us the story about the music box… hm… perhaps if we put all our effort and check the royal archives, we'll find something! marcy, can i count on you to help with this…deal?" the giant salamander trustfully smiled at the girl and she gasped.
"CAN YOU?! i'm all in, mister! king!"
"i knew i could count on lady olivia's daughter," andrias grinned, to which he received a surprised, but pleasantly surprised, look from the royal advisor and turned his gaze to sasha. "we'll start tomorrow morning. but for now! i suppose our meeting is over, and i'd like miss marcy to properly reunite with our guest! go on, i'm sure you have a lot to discuss."
with a restrained squeal, marcy, as if on command, rushed to her childhood friend and hugged her so hard that they almost fell on the floor, saved only by the blonde's sense of balance. sasha replied with not any less firm hug and, when they let each other go, mar-mar gently took her hands with such incredible joy on her face.
"sashasashasashasashasasha!! you can't even imagine how glad i am to see you… oh, i can't wait till i'll show you where anne lives!! well, for now. for some time," there was a noticeable disappointment in the last words. "but! now… who wants a tour of the castle from the royal advisor's daughter, one of her kind, marcy rippletail-wu herself?!"
sasha awkwardly smiled to her.
"yeah, sure, mar-mar. can't wait. but we…" she looked away for a moment before looking into her friend's eyes again. "…really need to discuss. a lot. you get what i mean. we haven't seen each other in ages, isn't that crazy?" "exactly! oooh i can tell you so much, but first, i'd like to know what happened to you! look at your clothes! where'd you get it??" "…made it myself?" "…no. way. this IS SO COOL!!" "kinda. i didn't really have a choice. i luckily had a teacher though." "TELL ME EVERYTHING RIGHT FROM THIS SPOT!!" said marcy as they began walking away from the throne room.
---
so... little context i can give:
sasha ran away almost immediately and had to learn to survive on her own with occasional help from locals. marcy became adoptive daughter for olivia (rippletail *giggles in silly headcanons*). she also still really likes agricultural stuff...and begs andrias to hold a huge festival!! and anne lives with plantars (tho she had time when she ran away only to accept that she needs help from them, so they came to newtopia both for the festival and to search for answers in the heart of amphibia).

When afternoon came and you were mostly done for today's errands, you walked towards Erwin's office to bring some news. However, when you opened the door you saw him slouching his head on the office table, seemingly obliterated. He didn't even look up to acknowledge your presence. When you closed the door and walked to him, you rested your palm on his head. Erwin hummed and called your name tiredly, "Hello there."
You let out a small laugh, "How did you know? You didn't even turn to look."
Now you felt the tragedy of it. It was quite bearable but still close to crying, to say the least. The vivid image of Erwin's beaten-up body made you shiver, and the yearning feeling your counterpart had throughout that moment made you sullen. Recognizing how that felt, the way you see that man as an ill-mannered scoundrel just intensified inside you.
"Your scent." He replied groggily, still not raising his head.
My what? "How were you able to note such a thing in your mind?"
"Habit." He barely whispered.
"Weird." You sat on the chair in front of his table and moved it so you would be much nearer to him. "Are you tired?"
"Haven't slept yet."
Your hand that rested on his head was now on the table. "Nightmares?" He hummed. "Did it get worse?" He hummed again.
“Yeah, it’s really getting bad.” You let out a wistful smile, "Do you need time to sleep? I can go back here later–"
"No," He swiftly held your hand to stop you, still not turning his head up. "Stay here."
Your body was conflicted on how to respond; are you supposed to get flustered with that or just dwell in worry? Your previous dream is ringing inside you again. You even had urges to check inside of his shirt to see if there are wounds. Still, your mind chose the latter instead, "What can I do for you, then?"
"Your hand," He remarked, "On top of my head."
You brought it back, "This?" He concurred. You gently caressed it side by side. He sighed and mumbled a weak thanks.
"You're always giving me comfort whenever I'm the one like this." You pondered, "I'm happy you're letting me do this now."
"Never thought this alone would already feel good," He mumbled. "Should've done this before. That'd save me from lots of stress."
"Right, you're a hard-headed man." Both of you went silent for a while as you did your thing. After a while, you decided to tell him the reason why you went here. "Got to top five. I'm officially out of your class now."
Erwin finally turned his head up. He was surprised, but the way you were able to see how exhausted he really looked just made you more worried. "You did? Really?" You nodded, then he flashed you a gentle smile. "I'm glad," He cupped your cheek and weakly tapped it. "Told you I never fail with my plans."
"I didn't see you yesterday, were you able to sleep last night somehow?"
He shook his head no, "It's my second day now."
"Hey!" You fretted, "You have to–"
"Don't worry. I'm getting sleepy now." He didn't withdraw his hand cupping your cheek. Instead, he gently caressed it with his thumb in circular motions, "Did you lock the door?"
"No, why would I?"
"Lock it."
"Why?"
"I'll be sleeping now. I don't want to be disturbed."
"Then I'll go out so you could–"
"No." He interjected, "I won't be able to sleep if you go."
This conversation gets you more and more flustered. Even if his reason might be completely harmless, your brain just continuously flashes any scenario that might instigate once the door gets locked. Still, you heaved a sigh and stood up to do it. You walked back afterward to sit again, "Done."
"Good." Erwin seemed satisfied despite tired-lidded eyes, "For sure you'll be able to keep up with what you've left when you took a gap sem. Make sure to do a great job."
"I know but I feel like you really just pushed me out of this for your convenience."
"And you're not wrong."
"Distasteful." You muttered and stayed silent afterward, staring randomly on the shelf beside him and trying to distinguish every book piled on it silently.
But then he called your name again so you raised your brows. "Come closer." He remarked.
"Huh?"
He just beckoned you by nodding, so you did by standing up slightly to scoot nearer, "Why?"
When the distance was only centimeters away, he clicked a sly smile and cupped your cheeks, "Waited a very long time for this," He slid one of his palms to the back of your neck and pulled you towards him until your lips met.
Oh god.
Just like that, not only did your face get hotter than it already is but the whole room itself. Your barely standing knees quickly got mushy and your heartbeat rang loudly in your ears. The overwhelming feeling made you gasp and Erwin chuckled lowly as if something sparked in him after hearing that. You didn't move yet, just feeling how warm his lips were; you thought it was perhaps his body exuding a relatively higher temperature due to exhaustion. It was soft and plump as well, and some rough patches slid your lips smoothly that you can't help but like how it feels. Most of all, you felt shivers down your body as snippets of your dream came to you – the yearning, tragedy, the need to have him – it made you sigh, cupped his cheek, and returned the gesture by moving your lips in sync. Not only did Erwin smirk, but he also pulled you harder to him and kissed you more fervently.
After a while, you felt like your mind was spinning. You pushed away to pause it, albeit with difficulty and bumped your forehead with his. Erwin seemed greatly affected by it as well – flushed cheeks, slow breaths, and lidded eyes now different from exhaustion.
You gulped your panting breaths down, "I thought you wanted to sleep."
"I realized I want this more." He said lowly, voice reverberating through your mind and making it mushier.
You mumbled, "Why did you even wait for a long time just for this?"
"I'm a coward in that world," This time, he cupped both of your cheeks to maintain the proximity and your noses bumped along the way. "Can't do something as simple as this."
"Then you should've just asked me. Considering how drawn I was to you I'd be able to do that with ease." You felt like someone was speaking on your behalf, "Don't you think so, Commander?" But the pleasure was all yours to relish.
The honorific and your sly tone made him grip on your cheeks quite tightly, "But am I too late now? Can I just have it?" His voice was almost pleading. He can't hold down any further. His tipping point broke since you came to him on your own accord; he's not even sure if it was in that world or this one.
You let out a weak giggle, "You can but you have to sleep first."
"Then make me sleep. You're the only one who could do that." Mind's in shambles, desperate, no thoughts but the urge to press your body to him in any way possible. He can never have peace again if you leave.
Luckily for him, you shot him a knowing smile, withdrew the distance, and scooted up on the table with ease so you'd be seated on it comfortably. He was quite taken aback at the gesture but still thrillingly amused. When you're settled, you lowered your head slightly and reached for his cheeks. You're the one who initiated the kiss this time around and Erwin was immediately drawn to it.
His broad hands gripped both sides of your waist then swiftly grabbed you out off the table, landing you to his lap. That's it, your body's pinned nicely to him. Erwin sighed in satisfaction. And the gasp you abruptly let out with that action was something he immediately relished for his own. He inserted his tongue and pulled your head harder towards him; and as the new feeling evoked weak moans from you, you wrapped your arms around his neck.
It was a series of starving kisses this time around as if relinquishing something that was deprived for god knows how long. The way your tongues glided with sheer intensity, the soft nibbles up to much stronger ones that elicited sensual moans and hums, and the way both of you are pinning on each other harder and harder as if the proximity will never be enough, all of it only leads you to one conclusion: you've been aching for this since forever. You're not entirely sure how given the fact that you distinguish emotions differently in your dream and this one; but the way it quickly removed any rationality in your head and swirled your senses into oblivion, you just knew how badly you've been waiting for this.
Erwin's composure finally faltered as well. Along with the kisses that got more and more mind ruffling to handle, he slid his hands under your shirt, towards your back, and caressed it softly yet messily; just desperate to feel it as much as he could. When he sensed he was about to lose control of his actions and his hand's about to unclasp your bra, as much as he doesn't want to stop, he withdrew his grasp on your lips and peppered your face with soft kisses instead. He just knew you wouldn't want to do this in this place, and if you ever do, he's not patient enough for a quick one. This was pent-up for years. Heck, he feels like it's been tons of decades, and you're not getting it all at once in this room.
You're not entirely sure why he stopped but you quite took it well because you also felt yourself giving in to it. The agenda is to make Erwin rest, not to have him more tired by ravaging you on his desk. That's why you took pleasure in what he's doing, closed your eyes, and smiled through it.
After a while, Erwin buried his head on your neck and rested his hands on your lower back so your body would maintain pressed to him, "I'll sleep like this." He said in a muffle, the vibration and his hot breath almost tickling you.
"With me on your lap? Seriously?" You asked in disbelief.
He hummed, his lips now resting on the skin of your neck. "I could have you like this for a whole day. It's that bad."
"It's shameful that we're doing it inside school premises."
"Fuck them." He replied. You widened your eyes and softly slapped his shoulder, "And I'm quitting. You're the only reason I'm here after all."
"If you don't like it so much then why did you enter in the first place?
"Most viable one, near to Levi's household, in line with my profession, and exactly where you are." Needless to say, you felt your heart swelling, as usual, with his reasons. As you should, a voice in you says.
"And you're quitting your job despite that? How nice it is to be a wealthy bastard."
"I'm not. Levi and our friends just stopped me from giving my stuff away," He answered, "I was planning to become a hermit."
You let out a laugh and you can feel him smile through it as well. You slid your hand on top of his head while the other one is still wrapped around his neck, "They thought you were about to kill yourself," You lamented. Still, you can feel Erwin chuckling with that so you added, "You don't?"
"That was a mess. I completely forgot they're actually a bunch of smart asses." He muttered. Despite him getting humored on that, it got you immensely rueful. With pursed lips and furrowed brows, you said. "Don't think of something like that again."
"It's an old habit, but–" He paused for a while, "I swore to myself that you'd get anything you want in this world so I guess that's enough."
"It's not about me." You quickly interjected, "Let's work around it soon."
Both of you stayed silent for a while, with his lips just gently nuzzling on your skin. The feeling makes your whole body hot if you'd be honest, but you're dead set on making him rest.
"I have to sleep now. I'll end up taking you here if I stay awake." He lowly mumbled.
"As if, you idiot. You're dead tired."
Erwin hummed, "Really?" He languidly placed wet kisses on your neck. "You know better than to take me lightly, young lady."
You almost whimpered at the feeling but you gulped it down and released a breathy sigh instead, "Not here. This place's too uncomfy." You struggled to reply.
"Right. And your heart's beating really fast. You won't be able to take me right now." He gave the skin a chaste peck.
You slapped him on the shoulder again and sternly said, "Sleep or I'll get out of here.
He let out a low laugh and held you tighter, "Wake me up after an hour."
When the weekend came, Isabel asked you to go for another night out; this time only with the three of them. She wasn't sure if Erwin would jive in because according to her, he looked nearer to his grave recently. Nonetheless, you told her you'd drop by this evening as you have something to check on first, that something being your mother. If you were to report to the police, she could easily be branded as missing. Kuchel seems worried too, but unlike her usual caring demeanor towards your mom, she's aversive now instead. She told you that it might not be easy but you could just move to their household instead of waiting alone in that house. You have no news regarding your father as well.
Nothing significant was garnered and because of how mournful you got with today's events, you reached the place late evening already. As you leave the taxi, however, you couldn't help but scrunch your eyebrows. First off, karaoke hub isn't everyone's usual hang-out place. No one in your circle likes hearing each other's amplified shrieks in an insulated chamber. Second, it doesn't look good. Isabel texted you that she's crying already, begging you to go faster along the way.
When you called her to say you were just behind the door, it abruptly opened and she ran to you. She really was crying and she smelt dead drunk. You were more surprised entering. Furlan was curled up in the corner with hands on his ears, Levi was barely awake, and Erwin's face was laced with more dread as if his usual one can't be worse already. "Had I known you're all wasted then I wouldn't have dropped by!" You remarked in disbelief, "What am I supposed to do? Be everyone's chaperone?"
"Because I can't deal with this soberly!" Isabel tried to explain with tears, "That was the ugliest thing I heard in my entire life!" Right after that, you heard Furlan heaving a sob as well, but unlike Isabel, his face stayed down and his position didn't change.
Levi attempted to sit properly upon hearing you speak, albeit failing to do so. You thought he'd say something to you but he just grabbed the songbook and hit Erwin with it hardly. Despite the loud slap, Erwin barely opened his eyes with a groan, "I don't have," He mumbled inaudibly, "–work today."
"Stupid fucker." Levi muttered and tapped on the man's knee, "Look." He pointed at you and called your name, "Not sure, but like, is she here?" He added lazily.
"Fuck off," He swatted Levi's hand away. "Stop downplaying my hallucinations," He gruffed. "I’m done with that phase."
"No," Levi tried to sit up properly again, barely successful but relatively better than the first try. "I don't see things, so she really might be here." But then he looked at you in confusion, "Or not?"
"I am here." You scorned and turned around the room, "How much have you all drunk? Levi doesn't even get this wasted easily!" Isabel didn't answer and when you looked at her she was already lying beside the now-closed door unconscious. Furlan’s still not moving.
Erwin, on the other hand, finally opened his eyes despite remaining slouched on the couch. He squinted his eyes at you and didn't say anything just yet, so you returned the gesture with a glare. After a while, he lazily tapped Levi. "I'm seeing her." Then rested his forearm atop his eyes with a frustrated groan, "God. I thought I was done with this." His voice was swaying.
"Huh," Levi groaned, "She's the soldier in your vision whenever you’re drunk? During college? Fuck you." He placed both of his hands to cover his face and he muffled, "Told you to stop pulling traumatic stories on me. Fuck."
The two continued mumbling incoherence towards each other and before your head throbbed at the sight, you dialed Kuchel's number. "They're drunk." You muttered in lament.
"Who's sober?" She sternly asked.
"Me."
"Levi?"
"Wasted."
"Erwin?"
"More wasted."
"Then I'm sure the two brats are as well. Tell them to not dare go home with that state. Sleep on the road and die. I'm hanging up."
"No! Furlan's quite okay yet." You interjected in panic and hurriedly went to Furlan, "Hey, your mom's on the phone." You tapped him continuously and put your phone on loudspeaker, "We have to bring everyone home safely–"
You were cut off by Furlan lifting his head, gritting his teeth, and covering his eyes as if to stop his tears. "He had one job and that is to stop." He was weeping, "I told everyone to stop but they went on. No one is taking me seriously." He sniffed, "And now I can't hear myself? What the fuck?"
Oh god. You put the phone to your ear again, "See, Kuchel." And let out a nervous laugh. "I think I can bring them home somehow– hello?" You cut yourself off as you realized you can't hear anything. When you look at your phone it was already hung up. Only a message; Leave them so they can see where they'll go with such recklessness. They're not kids anymore. Just go home and sleep. This day's already tiring to you as it is.
You heaved a tired sigh. You can't leave them like this, so you walked towards Erwin and knelt in front of him. "Wake up," You tapped on his knees.
"Levi," He tapped on the man beside him lazily. "Now I can feel her." He was befuddled.
"Follow her to the light," Levi answered faintly.
“Should I? Is that okay? We’re supposed to go to opposite paths.”
You lost your patience and stood up, grabbed his face nearer to you, and forced him to open his eyes. "Wake up. We're taking everybody home."
He looked straight at you tiredly, his eyes blinking a few times. "Oh god, here she is." He mumbled.
Levi hummed as he fully settled on the couch to sleep. "I'll clean your grave nicely."
You ignored Levi's remark and kept staring down at him, "Why did you drink this much?" You asked in worry.
Erwin blinked slowly, "We don't have an expedition tomorrow, why–"
You cut him off by gripping his face lightly, "Please cooperate. I'm tired today." You remarked sadly.
"Aw," Erwin muttered as if sympathizing, though it just sounded mocking. He wrapped his arms messily on your waist and pulled you slightly to him. "You look really hot when working but I shouldn't have piled you with a lot of work. I'm such a bad commander, no?"
This is futile, you thought, so you decided to just jive in. "You are. I almost fainted this time."
"Fuck. You did? Oh god." He was suddenly aghast and panicky and you almost laughed. You didn't think this would be entertaining to watch. "Are you angry? Planning to leave me now, perhaps? What can I do for you instead? Hm? Tell me."
"Anything?"
"Anything my lady wants," He immediately answered despite a flailing voice. As his fingers played around your lower back in circular motions, he added. "Just so she won't leave."
"Bring me home with you."
Erwin's lidded eyes were shot wide. He completely halted on the spot. Even his playful fingers on your back stopped. You blinked at him, waiting for a reply. After a while, he looked down, started smiling, shook his head slowly, and let out a low chuckle, "I don't want to wake up anymore." He whispered to himself yet still audible to you. You moved slightly so your face would be aligned again, "So Commander, am I allowed to go home with you?"
"What do you want to do, hm?"
"Let's see when we get there. Where are your keys?"
"Since when did my pretty soldier get this blunt? If you showed this to me way before I would've just given in, you know?"
You snorted, "Stay in the present, Commander." You tried to tap and feel his pants to find his keys somehow. You felt it in both pockets. "So where's the one for your house, left or right?"
"Right." He mumbled inaudibly with his head falling. "So, if we're gonna do, that… uh, I might do it too hard because I've been, you know, for years. But…" He clung to your waist in a last attempt to gain his balance, "I'll try my best to… uhm… make you–" Then his hands fell down, "What was that word again…" He hummed but then drifted towards unconsciousness, his head slouched on your stomach.
Just what did he think both of you would be doing? Letting out the laugh you've held back, you gently placed his head on the edge of the couch and then stared at him for a while. After seeing how deep he was sleeping already, you smiled and tapped his cheek lightly, just like how he usually does to you.
With the keys in your hands, you went to get water and sat beside Furlan. Despite him being sulky, he seemed to be the one least wasted because he’s still conscious. You tapped him, groggy but still responsive, "We'll go if you're sobered up. Can't carry them alone. You know Erwin's place, right?"
It was utterly challenging, but luckily Erwin got quite awake when you arrived so everyone managed to enter smoothly. As soon as you're all settled inside though, he immediately dropped asleep. You cleaned up for a while and saw a new being in this house. “What–” You were completely surprised when it rubbed itself and meowed on you. Surely, this one's picked up from the streets but instead of gushing to it, you stared in lament instead.
You thought you only have to see familiar people in that world. The feeling made you terribly sunken.
You woke up on the couch hearing Isabel’s rowdy voice. Opening your eyes, you felt the cat on top of you, just above the blanket, and it was purring. You didn’t get up at first, letting it rest on you.
“Where did you even get that cat?” Isabel asked with scorn from the dining table meters away from you. She seemed to not notice you already woke up.
“There are plenty of those in the uni,” Furlan interjected.
“They’re ugly.”
There, you were shot awake and sat abruptly. “But you like cats so much! Especially fluffy ones!” You interjected with quite a loud voice. They were almost taken aback at it.
“Morning.” Levi deadpanned, while Isabel raised her brows with a scowl, "Huh? Who are you pertaining to? I hate them." Ah, you realized. Lying down again, you sunk in lament.
“Your errands yesterday,” Levi remarked, “How did that go?”
"Nothing. But I tried calling her multiple times, even sent a text message."
"Hm," Levi hummed, walking towards the couch and opening the television in front. "Then?"
"She texted me," Your eyebrows furrowed, "I was flooded with 'stop' and 'I don't want to see you. Which part did you not understand?' that kind of stuff."
“Huh!” Isabel shouted and walked towards the living room as well, sitting beside Levi on the floor.
"What did you feel about it?"
"Maybe I did something wrong, some chores I forgot, or I just expected too much."
Isabel huffed, "Pack your things and live in our house already. Left that house to rot. You don't even have good memories there."
“Hm,” You finally sat up. "Maybe she'll come back soon."
"You seem to be misunderstanding something here," Levi called your name. "You barely had a family there. Face it. And you practically lived in our house all your life. Don't even think of being shy about it."
"Hey, Levi." Isabel called him out worriedly. “Don’t say that.”
"Don't expect me to be kind on this," He flatly interjected. "You might've been too young to remember or your little mind burned it down to sheds, but back then I frequently saw you bruised or injured whenever that fucker goes home. That's why I always make you go to our house.” You really don’t remember, but for some reason, you don’t want to talk about it as well. Before you could change the topic, however, Furlan interjected. “Speaking of mom, she sounded really angry right now. And it’s late afternoon already. We left the cafe closed.”
Isabel chuckled, “Maybe I won’t come home tonight.” But Levi pulled her ears and stood up, “You might as well find another place to sleep because she’ll kick you out.” He then turned to you, “We’ll drop by your house so you could get clothes. You’re not sleeping there.”
You sat up and looked down sadly, “Thank you Levi, but I really want to wait for her. I’ll try to consider that, though.”
“You can leave her here for now,” Erwin interjected from the kitchen, “I’ll be the one to drive her home afterward.”
Levi looked at you for a reply, but you were too flushed to speak. “This guy’s really going all the way.” He muttered, and Isabel covered her mouth in shock upon realization. You gave her a sad look, “Please don’t say anything.” So she did. She just let out a snort, the snort became a laugh, then turned into a loud chortle. It went on for a while.
After preparing, Levi called for the two to buy some stuff first and then wait at the car. He fixed some things then quickly excused himself right after. Before closing the door, however, he shot you a glare, “Fix your face. You look repulsive.”
“I always look repulsive.” You nonchalantly remarked, "Take care."
"I'll try to find her as well." He flatly remarked, "Then we'll get you out of this." You smiled, nodded, then closed the door for him.
As you walked back, Erwin finally settled in the living room, seated on the floor carpet with his back leaning on the couch. “What happened?”
“Just realized something.” You remarked, sitting down on the couch just right beside him. "It's actually supposed to be a good thing so I feel strange getting sad over the fact that I hold certain memories and affection for people even if they have no recollection of it." You pondered for a while then continued, "I dreamt of this cat being Isabel's favorite, and this being died shortly after she did. I buried it beside her stone without Levi's knowledge, so I got sad that she actually hates this one now."
"I actually picked that up because of that."
You heaved a laugh, "Seriously, how often have you watched from afar?"
"You wouldn't want to know. Continue."
"And I realized yesterday night that even if Levi loved being clean, he's not overly obsessed with it and he didn't mind sleeping yesterday without washing up. I also remembered certain quirks of people I know in that place and most of it are gone now. Have you felt lonely over this before?"
"I didn't mind it that much, but I also felt quite alienated with the trivial distinctions I've noticed over them.”
You hummed in acknowledgment, "So, it was like, what is there for us if not for the memories we've been holding from that world? They all seem relatively happy, struggles existent yet bearable. Looking at them sometimes makes me feel that their lives are just too good to be true." And you sighed, "And to be honest, out of all the people I have here that I met there as well, you're the only one I can see as miserable as I am. Leaving my parents out, that is."
With that, Erwin finally scooted up on the couch. "Are you devastated by that?"
"No. I just get insecure over it and at times I tend to take them lightly whenever they tell me their struggles. I loathe catching myself doing that." It was silent afterwards, somehow understanding how raw it felt for the two of you.
After a while, you leaned toward him and he wrapped an arm around your shoulder. He pondered for a while, "It's the reason why I was eventually delighted you were the same even if I saw how bad it turned out to be for you. Quite selfish of me if I'd be honest."
"Now I'm getting more sad that you picked that habit up as well."
"Sorry." He chuckled, "Making you stay here right now was me being selfish as well." And the realization finally daunted you; both of you are finally alone. You are dead flustered again but to ease the nervousness away, you snuggled towards him. Gliding your eyes towards the place, you suddenly saw something familiar on the shelf, "Is that handkerchief mine?"
Erwin turned his eyes towards it as well, "Yeah. You dropped it when you were still avoiding me for dear life."
You turned to him in slight disbelief, "And you didn't return it?"
He flashed a guilty smile, "You can get it now."
"You already turned it into a display. Why did you fold it like a napkin?" You were almost laughing, "But you can keep it. I didn't even remember losing it."
"Okay." You went silent again.
Do I need to set a mood before an intimate moment starts? You thought to yourself. You're not usually this jittery but your mind is turning into shambles. You tried to glance at him but he's awfully chill. He's not even fazed, and he completely, naturally, welcomed your snuggle to him. After a while of pondering for another topic, you spoke again, "So do you have–"
"Can I kiss you now?"
Fuck.
You shot him a glare. Still, he looked at you innocently, his face urging but benign.
"You really don't have patience left in you, is it?" You deadpanned and sat properly again.
He slid his fingers to your face, "Told you. I've held back long enough."
"I usually don't get so lost with this kind of thing." Your cheeks were burning.
He put his finger on your chin and tipped it up gently, "Am I the only one who feels like this? Are you not holding back at all?"
Giving in, you turned to him and cupped his cheeks as well, "I only realized I did when I kissed you back then." Fixing your eyes on his lips, you slid your thumb through it almost mindlessly.
Erwin gripped your waist, "As much as I am a sucker for tease and tension, I really am on my limit now."
"Sorry," You sheepishly smiled and leaned in until your lips met. And right, he really was on his awful limit. With heat spreading under his skin, he hungrily kissed you back, letting out a weak yet satisfied sigh along the way. He laid you on the couch all the while urgently asking you to open your mouth so his tongue could enter.
As both of you indulge at the beginning of your sweet surrenders, his large hands slid inside your shirt, one massaged your mound while the other one slid on your lower back to pull you harder, rolling his hips along the way and making you whimper in between kisses. Your sounds were insanely intoxicating to him, to say the least, that nothing would appease his mind but to make a mess out of you from all the teeming desires he’d kept for a lifetime.
You ended up pulling his hair away to pause the kiss so you could breathe from the overwhelming sensations, "Can we get this to the bed?"
He showered your face with wet kisses. "You'll let me take care of you there? Hm?" Erwin lowly whispered and nibbled your lower ear.
"Yes," You writhed under him, breathless and hot. "Please?"
You don’t even need to beg, but he was disgustingly gratified hearing that.

ATEEZ Wooyoung- School President (Oneshot)
Genre: light angst, suggestive/steamy, high school au.
Pairing: SchoolPresident!Wooyoung x badgirl!reader
Warnings: none.
Tumblr media
"Miss L/N, detention after school till 4 p.m." your chemistry teacher said, making you mentally groan. It was the last class of the day and you were dying to go home, but now you had to stay for an extra hour. All your classmates turned to look at you, but they weren't surprised. "You still haven't submitted the assignment."
"Can I just submit it tomorrow?" you asked in a bored tone.
"No, you were supposed to submit it a week ago," she said, gathering her stuff to leave the class. "Detention with Mrs. Hwang today." You heard people around you snicker. Well, fuck. Mrs. Hwang was the strictest teacher in school. Even you were scared of her despite your badass attitude.
You got up from your seat, leaving the classroom with an annoyed expression on your face.
"Detention again, Y/N?" your bestfriend asked as she made her way to you with your other friends.
You rolled your eyes. "Ms. Jang will never fucking let me live in peace. I'll see you guys tomorrow," you said, making your way to detention.
You were surprised to find the room empty. Usually, there would always be about three or five students. Since no one was here, you decided to ditch; you would skip school the next day so that your teachers will forget about it. You turned around to leave, but ended up bumping into someone, slightly startling yourself.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, raising an eyebrow at your school president and heartthrob—also called 'senior's eye candy' at your school—Jung Wooyoung.
You had to admit, he was certainly the most handsome guy you've ever seen. Jung Wooyoung was absolutely perfect. Every girl wanted him and every guy wanted to be him. You were sure half your school tried to hit on him despite the fact that he has a girlfriend.
"Unfortunately, I'm here to make sure that you won't escape detention as Mrs. Hwang is busy, so take a seat," he said, moving around you to sit on a chair and taking a notebook out of his bag.
You always found Jung Wooyoung very interesting. Other guys like him—the nerdy ones—can't even talk to you, let alone look you in the eye. Jung Wooyoung was the complete opposite.
You sat on one of the chairs, immediately taking your phone out.
"You can't use your phone here," Wooyoung said, not looking up at you from his notebook. "Why don't you complete your assignment?"
You scoffed. "And if I don't? What are you gonna do about it?"
"Nothing," he said, looking at you. "It's not affecting me in any way, so I don't care. However, Ms. Jang is gonna fail you again if you don't submit your assignment."
You knew he was right. And that annoyed you; you really just wanted to shut his pretty mouth up.
"Whatever," you mumbled, taking out a notebook and the assignment sheet to start working on the reactions you had to write.
However, you were completely blank. You didn't know or understand a word given on the sheet. You bit your lip as you stared at the sheet, wondering what to do.
Finally, you took out your phone and googled all the reactions, easily finishing the assignment in less than half an hour.
"You know, you won't be able to copy during finals," Wooyoung said, closing his notebook. "Even if you're copying now, at least learn what you've copied."
"I didn't ask for your comments," you retort. He was about to say something, but his phone rang.
"Hey, baby," he answered. " . . . I'm in charge of detention today . . . Oh, that's okay," his face fell slightly. " . . . No, it's alright. We can go some other day . . . Hmm, I love you too. Bye!"
You snorted, feeling bad for the boy. You were surprised someone as smart as him hasn't figured out that his girlfriend has been cheating on him. You've seen his girlfriend shoving her tongue down random people in the club, and hitting on people at your school. You remembered how shocked you were when you first found out that she was cheating on him; because why would anyone cheat on someone as perfect as Jung Wooyoung?
"You can leave now," Wooyoung said, getting up from his seat. "Detention is over." You nodded, leaving as fast as you can, just wanting to go home and sleep.
Tumblr media
"Your grades aren't very bad, but they aren't great either, Y/N," your class teacher said. "You'll get into an average college with these grades. But I know you can do much better. So I've asked one of the prefects to tutor you in Chemistry and Physics."
You groaned. "Can I do it by myself?"
"You wouldn't do it by yourself," she said. "Anyway, Jung Wooyoung will be tutoring you. Discuss and decide your timings with him. I expect you to score well on the next exam. I do not want to see you fail in any subject again." Before you could say anything, the door to the staff room opened, revealing none other than Jung Wooyoung. "Ah, Wooyoung, I just told Y/N that you will be tutoring her," she said. "I'm expecting you to do a great job."
Wooyoung smiled. "I won't let you down, Mrs. Park. But Y/N must put in efforts or else there's no point," he stated in a polite tone, and you rolled your eyes.
"Yes, that's true," she turned to look at you. "I'm expecting nothing but your best efforts, Y/N." She's always expecting something, huh, you thought. You only smiled, bowing politely.
"I'll do my best."
-
"What the actual fuck is this?" you mumbled, staring at the lengthy derivation written in Wooyoung's notebook. He rolled his eyes, so tired of hearing you say that to literally everything you saw written in his notebook.
"Ah, why did they have to make me tutor you of all people?" he whined. "You clearly haven't paid attention in class for even half a second."
"No one told you to accept it," you said, ignoring his last comment.
"I had to," he scoffed, stretching his arms out, making you glance at the veins on his arms. "Extra credits, you know?"
"Nerd," you muttered under your breath. He heard you, but didn't say anything. He began teaching you how to derive it; you paid attention for the first few seconds before zoning out. When you zoned back in, he asked you to explain what he just explained. You bit your lip, thinking of what to say.
He sighed. "You didn't pay attention again."
"I zoned out, sorry."
"That's what you said for the previous derivation," he said, a disappointed look on his face while he packed up his things.
"You're leaving already?" you asked, glancing at the time on your phone; you still had twenty minutes left.
"I'm not going to waste my time teaching you right now," he said. "You clearly aren't in the mood to focus." You only scoffed, watching him leave the library. You bit your lip, feeling kinda bad for not paying attention when he was making an effort to teach you.
The look of disappointment he showed you had somehow made you determined to prove that you could focus and do better.
Tumblr media
You were at Wooyoung's house, sitting on his bed and scrolling through your social media while waiting for him to finish changing out of his uniform. You spent an entire two weeks studying your ass off, and you were proud you made a big improvement, thanks to Wooyoung. He was quite surprised that you were actually making an effort to understand whatever he taught you. You both even became friends, and you were quite happy about that.
"I'm done," he said, coming out of his bathroom, making you look up from your phone. You held your breath at the sight of Wooyoung dressed in grey sweatpants and a black tank top. You couldn't stop yourself from checking him out: the veins running down his muscled arms, his exposed collarbones, his sharp jawline, his plump lips . . .
You were so immersed into checking him out, you didn't realize he was doing the same to you. He loved how your uniform skirt rid up your thighs, and how another two buttons on your shirt were unbuttoned, exposing a little bit of your cleavage. Before you knew it, he was slowly making his way towards you, eyes now locked with yours.
"Let's start, hmm?" he said with a smirk; he knew you were checking him out.
You clear your throat a little. "Yeah, let's start."
You spent the next half an hour trying to pay attention to whatever Wooyoung was teaching you. It didn't help that he absentmindedly placed his hand on your knee, or brushed your hand with his; he knew exactly what he was doing to you. Your mind kept wandering to the things you want him to do to you right now on his bed.
" . . . and now you should tell me," he leaned a little close to you with a smirk, making your heartbeat speed up. "Which formula should be used?"
"Fuck this," you muttered, pushing the books aside before straddling Wooyoung's lap.
"Took you long enough," he chuckled, and you crashed your lips on his. He instantly kissed you back, hands moving to grip your waist. You wouldn't admit it to anyone, but you have been dreaming about kissing Wooyoung the second he talked back to you a year ago.
You pulled away to litter his neck in kisses, sucking the skin gently. He groaned softly, making you smirk. "Fan of neck kisses?"
"You have no idea," he said, hands moving underneath your skirt to grip your bare inner thighs. He gave it a squeeze, making you involuntarily grind down on him. He moaned at the feeling, encouraging you to do it again. You moved your lips back to his, grinding on him even more. Wooyoung's hands slipped into your panties, grabbing your ass to help you grind down on him faster. The friction made you moan, craving for more. You tugged on his shirt, breaking the kiss to let him pull it off. You ran your hand down his toned torso in awe, loving the feeling of his abs beneath your fingertips. Your eyes widened at the tattoo above his hip bone. "You have a tattoo?!"
Wooyoung gripped your hips, moving you off of him so that he could hover over you. "Mhmm, bet you never expected the nerdy school president to have a tattoo, huh?" Your hands moved to his hair, playing it with while he began to kiss your neck, driving you crazy.
Wooyoung kissed down your chest till where your shirt was unbuttoned. He glanced up at you, fingers toying with the buttons. "Can I?" he asked. You nodded, letting him unbutton your shirt and slip it off you. You sucked in a breath when he ran his fingers over the lacy material of your bra.
"Take it off," you whined, making him chuckle.
"Patience, baby," he said, one hand gently rubbing your thigh.
But you really didn't have any patience right now.
You brought his lips to yours while you moved his hand to touch you where you desperately needed him, surprising him a little. He kissed you back hungrily while his finger moved on your clothed clit, applying pressure, making you get wetter. Your moans made him smirk; he loved how he was the reason behind it.
You both got startled at the sudden sound of his garage opening. He halted his movements, pulling away from you instantly.
"One of my parents is back from work," he said, quickly putting on his tank top and handing you your uniform shirt. You quickly buttoned it and straightened out your hair; you really did not want Wooyoung's strict parents to suspect anything since they already did not like the idea of him tutoring you in his final year of high school.
Wooyoung's father knocked on his bedroom door before opening it, finding you and Wooyoung busy writing equations.
"Oh, hey, dad! How was work?" Wooyoung asked with a sweet, innocent smile like as if he wasn't smirking a few minutes ago while touching you.
"Hello, Mr. Jung," you said politely.
"Hello, Y/N," he said. "Work was all right, as usual. How is your tutoring session going?"
"Good, dad," Wooyoung said, trying to control himself from smirking. "It's going really great."

Unwell
Tumblr media
genre: slight angst with fluff ending, implied crush au, one shot
pairing: female reader x best friend!Minho
word count: 1.4k
context: you're terribly sick, you haven't told anyone but your best friend somehow knew something was wrong when you wouldn't reply to his numerous texts.
A/N: this may or may not have turned into a rant because I was sick for the past few days akskakdksks
Tumblr media
Seasonal flus were the worst. Slightly chilly from hot or slightly warm from cold and suddenly your body decides, “You know what? I don’t vibe with this weather. I’ma just break down.” You had a mild fever and a cold. While the fever was mild, it was annoying because you weren’t sick enough to just pass out for hours and having a cold meant your nose either:
Dried up like the Sahara which ended up burning your sinuses and it felt like your skull was on fire.
Got blocked like the path between the North and South Korea; nothing got in or out which meant breathing through your mouth which also dried up.
Runny like the Amazon river, there’s crumples of tissue paper all over your floor. Your nose was red, rough and raw from blowing so much, the delicate skin was irritated.
Here you were, slumped on your bed with the covers on top of you but a leg and an arm sticking out because it got too hot to be fully under the covers and too cold to be fully without. Sleep eluded you the previous night, you just couldn’t sleep, it wasn’t gonna happen. Somehow you’d fall asleep only to wake up a little while later, and end up tossing and turning in your bed. Because you were unsuccessful in your attempts to get a good night’s rest, you woke up with a pounding headache from your eyelids to the back of your head. Your whole body ached.
Leftovers in your fridge were finished so you forced yourself to get up and heat some instant noodles to eat with your meds. Water tasted bitter. Your appetite vanished. Eating was agonising because afterwards you felt suffocated, an invisible pressure on your torso prevented you from breathing fully, your lungs not taking in air fully so your breaths were short. Hell, peeing was a chore. At least you weren’t on your period, maybe if that happened, you’d actually die. Imagine having to frequently change pads/tampons and underwear while feeling like you got ran over by a truck. Were you overreacting? Maybe. But it was allowed at this point.
So in short, you were suffering since the past two days. You were absolutely miserable. You wanted to cry but crying meant your nose getting runny then eventually blocked and then a headache so you sucked it up. You brought a hand to your head to massage your head because it hurt, grimacing by the tangles and the grease. You reached for your phone, unlocked to see various social media notifications which you cleared and messages from your friends which you also elected to ignore and reply to later. Playing a playlist with slow music with medium volume and dropped it back on the bed, you closed your eyes and let the soft melodies flow into your ears in hopes of helping you forget about your headache once again. This is how you held on to your last shred of sanity but you failed to hold on to your consciousness and fell into a dreamless sleep.
You woke up to a cold compress on your forehead, your room clutter and mess free, the windows open and something nice smelling. You thought you were dreaming when a face you know all too well walked into your bedroom with a bowl. “Minho? what are you doing here? Get out. I’m sick, you’ll get sick too.” you rasped. “Well, about time you acknowledged my existence, even if it’s to tell me to get out. I should’ve been here earlier, maybe it would’ve been helpful if you told me you were dying in your pigsty of a room.” he snapped. He put the bowl on your nightstand, you realised it was water, he was probably going to replace the cold compress.
“You look terrible.” he said. “Gee, thanks.” you retorted. “You need a shower.” he advised. “Nooooo.” you whined and snuggled further into the covers. “Come on, y/n, there’s no way you’ll get better if you feel disgusting. I’ll help.” He said and snatched the blankets. “Minho, stop. You’ll get my germs.” He sighed and rolled his eyes, “Don’t worry about it now come on.” he said and helped you sit up then suddenly with strength you didn’t know he had he carried you princess style to the bathroom and you yelped. “Jeez y/n you’ve lost so much weight.” he tsked. “Do you think you can wash your hair on your own?” he asked as he sat you down on the counter. “I’ll be okay.” you replied tiredly. “If you need help, just ask.” he said and adjusted the water temperature in the shower then left.
You took your time showering, the first five minutes just standing under the warm water which opened up your sinuses, having the steady stream of water beat down over your back and easing your sore muscles. You washed your hair slowly, so as not to tire your arms out. Stepping out of the shower, you felt immensely better, finally able to breathe a bit easier. Drying off, you wore your fluffy bathrobe and walked out to see a big shirt (one you ‘borrowed’ from Minho) and pajama shorts laid out on the bed. Thankfully, he didn’t lay out underwear for you. You dressed up and got settled back in bed, already tired again.
You unlocked your phone and saw the concerned texts from Minho because you weren’t answering them or his calls and felt guilty. A knock resounded from your door, “come in.” you said and Minho walked in with a tray. “Well well, finally I see y/n and not a corpse.” he teased. Whatever was on that tray smelled heavenly and your stomach rumbled. He put the tray down on your lap and he brought the back of his hand to your neck to check your temperature. “Hm, your fever has probably gone down but I think it’ll be back.” he notes. The whole time you stared at him. “Hey. I’m sorry I ignored your texts.” you said and twiddled with your thumbs, the guilt unbearable. He took your hands in his own, “It’s fine. I’m sorry for snapping. I was just worried and scared. I thought you actually died at first glance and I panicked.”
He turned to the tray and lifted the lid from the bowl, “It’s chicken rice porridge. Eat up and take your meds.” Your eyes were still downcast, “I can’t I feel horrible afterwards.” and you explained in detail. “It’s probably acidity, clearly you’ve been eating junk and it’s not sitting well in your stomach. This won’t cause you discomfort. At least eat a little bit. Please? For me? I made this for you.” he said and used the signature kitty eyes. You looked up and he’s already holding a spoonful of the warm concoction. You hated when he pulled the look on you, you could never say no to those eyes but then again you didn’t want to because that porridge looked pretty darn appetising. You opened your mouth and Minho fed you the gloopy goodness.
You could’ve just eaten yourself but you quite liked being pampered so you said nothing. Minho carefully spoon fed you the whole bowl, blowing delicately on the first couple of spoonfuls until the rest became tepid. Halfway through the bowl you felt full so you told him you didn’t want to eat anymore but he pulled the kitty eyes again, and now you’re stuffed. He handed you the glass of water and meds which you gulped down and went to clean up. He came back and stood awkwardly in your doorway. “You’re leaving already?” you asked sadly. “Do you want me to?” he asked back. “No grab my laptop and come watch Spirited Away with me.” you pouted. He smiled, got the laptop from your desk, grabbed one of the sweatpants he left from previous times he’s been to your place to change into, and then settled in bed next to you under the covers.
You took one of your many pillows and settled your laptop on it and settled back. “Hey, Minho?” you called. “Hm?” he enquired. “Thanks for taking care of me.” you smiled softly. He was going to say something snarky but decided against it and said, “It's alright.” About half an hour into the movie he felt a sudden weight on his shoulder and he looked bewildered to see you’ve fallen asleep on him, breathing softly. He turned off the laptop and placed it on the ground before wrapping his arms around you, placing your head over his chest and reclining back. He looked at your sleeping face with soft, adoring eyes and a gentle smile. He gently rubbed your back with one hand when suddenly you stirred and threw your arm over his stomach. Slowly, he too, drifted off to sleep with dreams of you and him together.

hot head
part 11 | masterlist
social media au
zuko x reader
this is a very long and fluffy update and I hope it makes up for my lack of posting these past couple days 🥺🥺💕💕💕
Zuko POV
“What is your partner’s name again?”
“Uncle, they aren’t my partner,” carrying a tray of used tea cups towards the back of the shop, I cleared my throat as I set it down by the sink for washing later. “Their name is y/n.” I folded my arms across my chest and faced towards Iroh, a grin displayed clearly.
“You’re telling me that my nephew is doing all this work for a friend?” he laughed.
“I’m doing all this work because you’re letting us stay in the loft,” my hands pointed to the stairs, “Besides, I owe them a favor and they’ve never been to Ba Sing Se, it’s the least I could do.” Which wasn’t a complete lie. I did owe them a favor, after everything I did I’m surprised they even responded to my initial dm. The only problem was keeping uncle out of the loop. He always had a knack for knowing when I was being sneaky and although it was a sense that came in handy when I was a child, as a fully capable adult it has now become annoying.
“What do you plan on doing tonight?”
“Um, I’m not too sure, I’m just planning on showing them the main spots of the city and then maybe some dinner.” I tried to play it off cool, but inside my heart was pounding at a rate far from healthy.
“Just make sure when you guys get back to lock the doors and wash any dishes you use, I’ll be in around nine in the morning tomorrow.”
“I will, don’t worry.” I watched as uncle took the shop key off the hook on the back wall. He tossed it to me with a wink, “Have fun Zuko.”
The shop was now mine for the night and I still had a couple hours before I had to leave to pick y/n up. There wasn’t much left to do since I had been here all day to help with customers and cleaning. I finished setting up the loft early this morning, it wasn’t anything super fancy. A couch that could be folded into a bed was pressed to the side wall and a nice mattress layed towards the back. I set up some fairy lights and a couple lanterns placed on tables around the room to add a relaxed ambience when lit tonight.
I can’t explain the feelings I’m having, nervous? Excited? I’m not sure, it’s hard to say. When Azula first told me about y/n she described them as this ugly, manipulative, mean person. But they aren’t like that at all. I remember when I first watched their video, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of them. They were beautiful, and the way they laughed made me feel warm inside, something I haven't felt in a long time. Azula insisted they were bad, and unfortunately I believed her. When they retaliated against me I didn’t know how to act, it filled me with rage because no one ever retaliates against me. I genuinely did hate them for a while but when the private investigator told me about what happened with their mom I wanted to take everything back. They had already been through so much and I was taking away something that could potentially work out really well. Despite what happened in the past I want this night to be a sort of ‘peace treaty’ if possible.
Y/N POV
The circumstances weren’t exactly ideal.. Zuko, the one who bullied me relentlessly with his twitter fingers was going to be my tour guide of Ba Sing Se for the night. The warnings from Katara and all my other friends wouldn’t leave my head and I couldn’t seem to shake the feeling that they were right. I did forgive too easily, but it was too late to cancel and plus I’ve never been to the city before.
I packed a small bag with a change of clothes and a couple miscellaneous items, being unsure of what the night would bring I made sure to pack some pepper spray too. I don’t think Zuko would try to hurt me, but being in a big city with one of the biggest jerks I know I had to come prepared.
It’s nearing five in the afternoon and my nerves are starting to get the better of me. Anytime now Zuko would be here and I’m starting to realize how awful this situation is. I could taste blood in my mouth from chewing on the inside of my cheek, “fuck,” I said while reaching for my phone. Almost on instinct my fingers swiped to Katara’s name in my contacts. The monotone ring droned on until I heard her pick up on the other line.
“Hello?”
“Katara, I’m freaking out, Zuko’s gonna be here at any moment and I don’t know what to do,”
“Hey it’s gonna be okay, are you sure you want to do this? I can always just make up an excuse for you so you don’t have to go?” I can tell she desperately wants me to say yes, but I can’t bring myself to do it.
“No it’s okay, I just really need someone to talk to until he gets here,”
“Okay, I promise it’s gonna be alright. You’ve got a whole army waiting up tonight to make sure you’ll be okay. Sokka, Suki, and Toph are gonna come over to Aang’s house with me and we’re not going to sleep until you’re back at wherever you’re staying.”
“Okay,” I laughed “If I don’t send updates by 11 send someone”
“Will do, Toph said she’s been ready to practice some knew boxing moves”
“Can’t wait,”
Our conversation went on for several minutes until I heard a knock on my door. “Coming!” I yelled and quickly ended the call, rushing to grab my bag. My hand curled around the handle and realization hit when I opened the door to see Zuko holding a bouquet of sunflowers. I smiled “Are these for me?”
“Yeah, I figured it’s the least I could do to make up for stuff.”
“Thank you,”
He seemed different than in his videos. His face was softer and his voice less harsh. I followed him to his car which was, to put it lightly, much nicer than my mini-van. I’m not even a car person but it was polished black with dark tinted windows and red rims, definitely something I could see him driving. He opened my door,  allowing me to slide in and fully appreciate the car. Leather seats accompanied a ‘new car’ smell and the front displayed a touch screen for controls. Shitty person or not, he rides in style.
After pulling away from my apartment the car fills with a low volume of slow RnB, “I’m not too sure if you  have anything specific in mind that you want to do, so I figured I’d show you my favorite parts of the city and grab something to eat, maybe some drinks?”
“That sounds great to me,” I smiled.
The rest of the car ride was silent, but with the mix of the sun close to setting, RnB, and the scenery I didn’t feel the need to talk. For a Friday night the traffic wasn’t that bad, we worked our way through it easily and stopped outside of a tea shop.
“This is my Uncle’s shop, there’s a loft on the top he said we could use for the night.”
“That’s so nice of him,  I’ll have to come back sometime to say thank you.”
I waited behind Zuko as he fiddled with the door. Now that I am standing next to him it was clear how muscular he was. The tight green shirt fit snug around his shoulders and biceps, his back muscles flexed while giggling the door handle. Finally it popped open and my focus changed to the space we were entering. It was cute and tiny, tables lined the walls and the bar had several stools flipped on top. I followed Zuko as he climbed the stairs to the loft.
“I washed and made the bed for you so you don’t have to worry about bugs or  anything,” Zuko pointed to the bed. I walked over to throw my bag down on the mattress “This place is so adorable, I love it!”
“Tea is my uncle's passion, when I was younger and he first started this shop I worked for him. This place is practically my home away from home.” He sat down on the couch facing me.”
I nodded, taking the place in. Fairy lights danced around the ceiling twinkling in a way that was mesmerizing. “Are you hungry?” Zuko asked.
“Is that even a question?” we both shared a laugh, “Come one, I know the best place for some pho.”
***
“And then, I practically threw up all over the place!” I laughed uncontrollably through my mouth full of pho,  “I can’t believe that,  in the middle of church?!” Zuko’s comment made me laugh even harder. “I swear! My mom was so mad it took everything in her power to not to drag me out by my hair!”
The night was going incredibly well. After a couple awkward ice breakers we somehow got on the subject of disappointing our parents and now we were the loudest table in the restaurant. Zuko was so much easier to talk to than I expected, and we had a lot in common.
“Excuse me, but would you and your partner like any dessert?” I was too busy laughing, I didn't even see the waiter approaching.
“Oh, they aren’t my partner.” I couldn’t help but snort which in turn made Zuko start laughing again, “I think we’re ready for the check if that’s alright” he said with as much composure and he could muster. I waited until the waiter was out of sight, “Partner” I snorted again. “Hey, the guy was just trying to find out if you were single,” I rolled my  eyes at Zuko’s comment. “Whatever..”
“It’s the truth! I bet everytime you go out you’re bombarded with people trying to get  with you!”
“Mhmm for sure, but I only  grace them with attention if they can guess my favorite color.”
“What’s your favorite color?” Zuko stared at me, rolling his lips to hide his smile.
“Why would you want to know? Are you trying to gain my attention?”
“I just want to make sure I know who I’m dealing with, they say you can learn a lot from people’s favorite color you know..”
“And who exactly is ‘they’?” I asked while crossing my arms.
“I prefer to keep that a secret.” He said while mimicking my stance.
We laughed together again at the stupidity of our argument. The waiter came back with the check and I reached for the cash I brought but before I could even get it to the table Zuko handed him a few $20’s telling him to keep the change. Warmth rose to my face “Thank you, I could’ve at least split it with you,”
“No worries, this is your trip and I wanna make it special.” he smiled, “Come on, there’s something I want to show you.”
We began walking the silent streets of Ba Sing Se, I admired all the little shops along the way. There was so much to do here and so many different people to meet. I think I have fallen in love with the city. When we came upon a small turn Zuko asked me to close my eyes.
“Why?” I smiled, I didn’t really care for the reason but I enjoyed teasing him.
“Just do it,”
With my eyes closed he grabbed my hand. I felt a jolt of energy race through my body. His hands were warm and calloused and much bigger than mine. The same warmth I felt at dinner returned as I tried suppressing my smile to no avail.
“You’re gonna love this.” he said, I could almost see his grin in my imagination. As he guided me I could hear water splashing and turtle ducks quacking. I was so excited I almost opened my eyes. Eventually he stopped me, “Can I open my eyes now?” I asked, wanting to know what he had led me to. “One sec,”
He shifted behind me, I could tell he was standing close because the heat radiating off of his body touched the back of my neck. “Okay, open.”
I was greeted with the sight of a beautiful fountain lit from all around, I felt like I had entered another world. It was so beautiful, the lights reflecting off the water made it even brighter. “What do you think?”
“Zuko, this is so pretty. I love it”
“I’m glad, this is one of my favorite spots. Especially at night.”
“I can see why,”
He made his way right next to me. We were standing so close our fingers grazed each other. I smiled at him nervously, unsure of what to do. “Do you want to feed the turtle ducks? I’ve got some bread”
“Yes!!” I said while practically running towards the animals in the fountain. I sat on the ledge which was a bit wet but not uncomfortable and Zuko took a seat next to me pulling a bag out of his pocket. He handed me a couple pieces to throw into the fountain and I wasted no time throwing it in.
They swarmed the area close to us splashing water as they ate. Zuko and I krept closer and closer together, if I moved my head it would bump into his shoulder.
I felt his hand fall on top of mine and I looked up. His eyes looked into mine and fell to my lips, the tension building had me leaning closer. His hand came up to gently cup my cheek while my eyes fluttered closed. Our lips met  with a heat, my breath caught in my chest due to the sudden sensation.
The kiss was slow, but short. This was better than the kiss Haru and I shared back at Aang’s grandparent’s house. This was electric and made me feel something.  We pulled away, my forehead falling on his. I could feel my heart beating through my chest.
This felt right.

Tumblr media
─ace stumbles across a youtube channel that he finds absolutely entertaining. he's never realized just how much positive impact you've made on his life just by simply existing and making videos. that is, until you decide to take a small hiatus. though, fate or not, during your break, ace finds you entering the cafe he works at.
Tumblr media
chapter zero; prologue.
A break.
That was what you needed.
Let's be real, Being a Youtuber is cool and all. I mean, working from home while still doing whatever the hell you want and making money off of it?? An absolute dream.
But sometimes, It gets really frustrating and overwhelming from all the snarky remarks people leave in your comment section on every single one of your videos they can get their hands on.
Waking up and checking your comments? The first thing you see is a hate comment. Followed by other hate comments under it.
You get a rare comment from a fan that actually comments a heart-warming motivation? The replies under the said comment were harsh. Like, real harsh.
It's just, hate. Hate everywhere.
You don’t even know why they kept coming.
You didn’t do anything wrong nor said anything offensive.
Hence, that's why you decided to take a time off of social media for a bit. (Youtube included)
You uploaded a video explaining that you would be in a small hiatus until the situation calms down a bit.
The comment section was oddly not filled with any hate comments.
Which made you more suspicious.
But you still take a break anyways.
You really needed it.
──────
Unbeknownst to you, somewhere in the world, a certain freckled, raven haired, film major college student was bummed out when he heard you were taking a break.
He loved your videos.
The humor in it was always hilarious that he often rewatches your videos whenever he feels down. In other words, For comfort.
Hell, he even showed his brothers your videos and they ended up liking your content too, leading to a “(Your Channel Name) Saturday Binge watch episode” as Luffy, (his little brother), would call it.
Like the name, Every saturday, the self-proclaimed siblings would binge watch your videos in the living room until midnight. Or in some cases, even way later than that. (Ahem, cue the sibling bonding 101)
But it’s okay.
He understands why you needed to take a break.
Social media can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.
God who knows how many times Ace has gotten into an online verbal fight when he finds hate comments in your videos.
He went all out.
Thanks to his oh so ‘colorful’ vocabulary he learned a while back when he was still in an orphanage that was owned by Curly Dadan, he managed to fire them back with the same sarcasticness that made them shut up.
Ace felt g o o d .
Like, real good.
Though, he needs to watch out for the time though. He slept at 2 AM that day and almost missed his class.
But it was worth it. (Atleast to him)
Ace works at a cafe near his college, as a barista. Nothing too special but hey, he needed to pay for his college funds somehow.
A normal day at work for Ace was always very uneventful.
Hence, that's why he did n o t expect you.
YOU, his favorite youtuber to enter the cafe he was working a shift at.
Hellooo?? Was he dreaming?? Is that really you?? IN THE FLESH?!?@R$*#RY@*
He stood there.
Completely frozen.
Oblivious to everything but you.
Time seemed to freeze for him when you walked inside.
All he could focus on was how your (h/l) (h/c) hair bounced when you walked, your (e/c) orbs glistening under the sunlight that went through the windows, and just how you walked in with a posture that gives off a strict but relaxed vibe.
He could not stop looking at you, yea you were pretty but that was when he saw you on the screen.
He thought a person couldn't get prettier but oh that idea was thrown out the window when you walked in.
How can?? Someone be more gorgeous in the flesh hello??
Was this allowed??
Ace thought he was about to get a heart attack from you.
Oh god just how can one be so pretty??
He doesn't believe in gods but thank heavens to the gods up there that made you, because oh my god you were just a sight for sore eyes for him.
He also probably looked hella creepy just standing there in front of his register, gawking at you.
Ace doesn't notice you already being in front of the register he was standing in before you said something along the lines of :
“━You there━?”
Huh?
Oh.
O H
Ohmygodwhatdohedoyou’rerightthereinfrontofhimandtalking
Wait.
No.
He needed to get himself together.
He knows you hate it when people treat you like some sort of celebrity and you just want your fans to treat you like any other human beings.
So he’s going to do just that.
Ace assumes you’re on your break at the moment so he will not make you feel uncomfortable in any way shape or form.
He’s going to treat you like any other customers.
Just.. with a bit more enthusiasm (I mean c'mon man)
“Ah! Sorry there, pardon me for my rudeness ma’am. Welcome to Ivory Blue Cafe! How may I assist a beautiful lady like you this lovely evening?”
SHIT
HE ACCIDENTALLY FLIRTED WITH YOU
OHMYGODNOOO
Pleasedontthinki’macreeppleasedontthi━
A laugh.
He heard a laugh.
Your laugh to be specific.
“OH!━Pfft━aha━” You cleared your throat.
“S-Sorry about that! I didn't mean to lau━”
“Nonono! It's alright, no need to apologize. Actually, I think I need to thank the heavens for that one because oh boy i’ve been blessed by your laughter” Ace responds, cutting through your apology while he gives you a sheepish smile.
This time, it was your turn to gawk at him.
It wasn't very long til heat makes its way over to your cheeks, lightly blushing at Ace’s words but smoothly brushing it off with a light chuckle.
“━Good lord i did NOT expect that━Pfft!━ Sorry sorry. Why thank you, i’m flattered you think my laughter is a blessing” You responded as a small smile forms on your face.
Ace blushed, making his freckles on his cheeks very visible.
He did not think of anything when he said any of that to you, it was like.. The words just seem to unconsciously escape his mouth.
He was embarrassed, sure, but he made you laugh.
So that was good.
“Well, that aside. What can i get you madam?” Ace smoothly says.
“Ah!━About that, hold on… I haven't decided yet..” You mumbled but it was loud enough for Ace to hear. You unconsciously make a pouting face while you speed-read over the menus above.
God you were so cute.
Ace just wanted to squish your cheeks right there and the━
NO! He needs to be professional for now, Ace cant afford to embarrass himself (as if he didn't already do that) in front of his favorite youtuber.
Shaking his head softly, he patiently waits for your order.
“I’d like an Espresso Macchiato please.” You smiled.
“You got it! Please wait patiently as I make your order!~” Ace says as he prints your receipt, smoothly handing it over to you.
“Here’s your receipt. Please hold on to it til I'm done making your order and call your name.”
“Ah wait, speaking of name’s. May I know yours? I’ll be calling the said name when the drink is done so you can go grab it and pay at the front register.” Ace says as he smiles reassuringly at you.
“...(Y/N). Please note it as (Y/N)!” You smiled back at him.
Oh god he was about to faint right there, but NO. He needs to do this, he's a man. He can handle this.
“Alright Lady (Y/N) please take a seat anywhere and make yourself comfortable as i make your order! I’ll be right back madam”
And with that, Ace ZOOMS to the brewing area, making an attempt to calm his racing heart down but failing miserably.
He watches you from the side of his eyes as you take a seat near one of the windows, waiting patiently for your drink to be done.
Realizing something, Ace forgot to ask whether you want it to go or to drink here.
SHIT
But,,, Judging by your appearance, you’d probably want it to go so he’ll take that chance.
5 minutes go by and he’s done with your drink.
Slowly walking up to the register, Ace says your name.
“Espresso Macchiato for Lady (Y/N)?” He half-yelled.
“Here!━ Thank you so much!” You say as you reached your hand over to grab your drink.
“No problem! Here you go madam”
“Oh! How’d you know I wanted it to go?”
“Instincts i guess, i was right, weren't i?” Ace grinned
“Well then, you have very accurate instincts Mr…”
“Oh! Ace. The name’s Ace.”
“Mr. Ace” You smiled, grabbing your wallet and pulling a 50 dollar bill, handing it over to him to take.
“Wha━ Nono! That's way too much!” Ace widen his eyes
“Take it as a tip for being welcoming and friendly haha!” You chuckle, shoving the bill to his chest and letting it go once you see his hands coming to grab it.
“Have a good evening Ace-san! Thank you for your assistance!” You grinned.
And with that, you were gone.
Out the door like a flash.
Ace stood there, once again shocked.
Not noticing, his face formed a shit eating grin. No. A Wide grin.
He’s going to remember this day for the rest of his life, no doubt about it.
Shaking his head, still smiling, he gathers himself back as he takes the next customer’s orders.
prologue end.

Pre Calc Sucks
a Tendou x Reader Soulmate AU
Word count: 1.6k
Genre: Fluff
Pairing: Tendou x reader
If you were told that you'd meet your soulmate through a texting app way before you did, you'd probably laugh at their face and tell them that it's not possible for that to happen, as it only does in movies or books. Or that's what you believed. Never in a million years did you think that it would happen to anyone you knew, let alone you yourself. It was a shock, but it was welcomed with open arms, as you had finally met the love of your life, the one fated to be with you. Meeting Tendou was, by far, the best day of your life. How you first met him however…now that would be a funny bedtime story.
You were struggling with your art and school when you had downloaded discord. A school friend had suggested it to you, as certain servers had places for school or art help, and you had given in due to the huge lack of inspiration you had. Making an account and picking your username, it had finally been done, but once again, you were stuck. How exactly did discord work? Would it just…randomly suggest servers everyday or did you have to find them? You had left it for a while, just empty, waiting for it to be filled. Your friend had asked if you had made any online friends, and responding with no, they became confused. "Haven't you joined any servers?" You awkwardly laughed, turning away from them. "No…I don't know how discord works." You look back up at them and see the most judging look in their eyes. "You're hopeless. Here, let me help you." Taking your phone and opening your search engine, they go to a random site and start scrolling while you look over their shoulder. Seeing them go through multiple windows, they give back your phone. “There, I added you to one, you can figure out the rest from there.” Giving a small thanks, you turn to your phone, reading the instructions. “Hmmm, this is gonna take a while…” After doing a few tweaks and introducing yourself, you finally started to talk to the people on the server, learning their names and pronouns, acknowledging their age for appropriate conversations, and even adding a few friends. You had completely forgotten you were still at school, even though it was currently your lunch period. “Who knows, maybe your soulmate is in there.” Startled, you turn towards your friend then roll your eyes. The whole soulmate concept was something you used to like, but now, it was just a reminder that you hadn’t found yours yet. The whole “first place they touch you” thing was just a taunt, at least to you. Your mark was what seemed like someone's arms wrapped around you, including your upper arms. So many of your peers had already found theirs while you felt almost forgotten. It brought thoughts to your head, such as what if...your soulmate was across the world? Would you ever meet them? Did you even have one? Shoving the last thought deep into your mind. “I doubt it, shit like that only happens in movies.” Your friend looked at you, then smirked. “I don’t know about that.”
After classes ended, you went home, a bit excited to start talking online, as childish as it sounded. You had to keep reminding yourself that you joined for school and art help, but making a few friends never hurt. Taking off your shoes and dropping your things, you sat on the couch and noticed you were home alone for the time being, your parents most likely at the market. Taking your phone out and opening the app, you begin to interact in the correct chat for school.
"Hey! I was wondering if someone could help me with my pre calculus homework? I'm a bit stuck"
You noticed that someone was already going to respond, which comforted you greatly.
"I could help with this! Just give me a moment!"
Checking their profile to not accidentally misgender them, you notice that they are actually a he, and he has similar interests as you. Going back to your bag and getting your notebook and textbook, you turn back to your phone and prepare to fry your brain with math. (fucking hate math, it's so COMPLICATED)
"Alright, what did you need help with?"
Telling your "tutor" about which problems you were confused about, they immediately begin to guide you through it and point out any mistakes you made, all while not exactly telling you the answer. He had helped you understand the concept much more easier than your teacher ever did, and you were extremely grateful for that. He had even given you some extra tips on how to remember certain formulas for when exams and tests are assigned. You thanked him multiple times for helping you with your homework
"Of course! Just DM me anytime you need help, I'd gladly do so!"
And that's what you did, texting him every now and then for homework help, mainly pre calc as it was your worst subject, and you didn't want to burden him with your other classes in case he had his own to pass. Sometimes, you'd even text him because you were actually interested in him, as he had been an interesting person to talk to. Learning a bit about him and sharing a bit about yourself, you quickly formed a friendship with, who you found out a few days ago, Tendou. He'd talk about how he was a part of a volleyball club, being a 3rd year, being part of a powerhouse team, and even some personal facts about his life. Of course, he never told you exactly where he was located, which was perfectly fine, as you didn't want to disclose that information either. However, you soon started to notice that whenever Tendou would text you, you'd become giddy no matter what the conversation was about, and when someone other than Tendou would text you, you'd deflate a bit, hoping it was him. Whenever you'd be doing anything else, you were hoping that he would send you something, you were just hoping to talk to him. These feelings scared you, as you might've had a soulmate, yet you fell for Tendou, and you prayed that maybe, it would somehow work out.
4 months later, and Tendou being your "tutor" was still going strong, and your friendship even stronger. You had brought up meeting with him a few times, and the both of you had even planned it sometimes, but never actually went ahead with those plans. Your schedules never met up, as he had practice and you had a part time job. You grew wary, wondering if you would ever meet your online crush. It was then that you realized you had absolutely no idea of what Tendou even looked like, which meant you could've passed him on the street multiple times without noticing. You would constantly hope that one day he would stroll into the little cafe you worked at and notice you, but that was a far stretch, as he had no idea of what you looked like either. Today was no different. Each time a customer would waltz in, you had hoped that it was Tendou, but it never was. It was currently near closing time, and you had begun sweeping the place while a coworker cleaned the kitchen in the back. It wasn't until you were about to begin putting chairs up that you felt a vibration come from your phone. Taking it out, you look at your notifications and see you had gotten a text from Tendou, and you felt your heart skip a beat. Scanning the text, the happiness you had felt quickly melted into excitement and nervousness.
"I found the place you work at, and I think I see you. Are you the one who's holding a broom?"
Rereading the text a few times to check if you weren't seeing things, you began to grow panicked. Today was an extremely stressful day, and you knew that you looked horrible. Your hair was a mess and you had even cried once due to an overly loud and rude man whose order was messed up, and you knew that the tear stains were still slightly visible. Quickly answering his text with a "come inside then :)" you continued to put chairs up in hopes to distract yourself from the nervousness and panic growing inside you with every passing second. Hearing the door open and the small bell above it chime, you freeze. "Um…are you possibly Y/N?" Turning around slowly, you're met with a tall boy with red hair and tired eyes. He reminded you of a lizard, and you thought he was really cute. Remembering that he had asked you a question, you answered. "Yes I am. Are you Tendou?" His eyes widen, and a smile grows on his face. "Aahhh, I finally get to meet you!" Realizing that he is indeed Tendou, a smile of your own grows on your face, and you couldn't stop yourself from engulfing him in a hug. The hug is cut short however, since you feel a searing pain from where Tendou had wrapped his arms around you. Pulling away, you look into his eyes, and does the same. Realization floods his eyes, and he looks as though he's about to cry. "Well shit, who knew you'd be my soulmate too." You immediately run back into his arms, shedding a few tears into his hoodie as he hugs you as if his life depended on it.
"I guess stuff like this really does happen in real life."

Grounded (Rey x Reader Highschool AU)
Request: I was wondering if you could do a high school Au Rey imagine where the Solo kids are grounded and Rey comes by the house so the reader tries to sneak out but Kylo catches her by anon.
Words: 1,453
A/N: This takes place immediately after Poe's party.
A/N 2: I spent the whole day procrastinating, but the plan was to update two shots but anyways, hope you like this little thing.
Tumblr media
The door sounded louder than you would have liked when Ben opened it carefully. You saw him placing a finger over his lips as he looked at you over his shoulder, a sign to stay quiet as you followed him inside the house.
You moved through the house in the darkness, with help just the soft light of the moon. You followed your brother closely and you trusted him guiding you across the living room until you saw the stairs and you smiled feeling the tension in your body leaving. You only needed to get upstairs and rush to your rooms and you'd be safe.
Ben pointed at the ceiling with his finger "up, now" he seemed to said and you started your way upstairs.
"Not so fast, Y/N." Said a voice making you freeze right where you were. You shut your eyes closed cursing inside your head as you turned around.
"Hi, mom." You said meeting her gaze. She turned the lights on.
"Do you even know what time is it?" She asked in a very angry yet calm way, you didn't dare to answer her question. "It's 4 AM"
Your eyes met your brother's eyes for a moment and he gave you a small wink.
"Ben, you were supposed to bring her early." Your mother said looking at him.
"It is early. Very early, actually, if you ask me" Ben told her and you tried your best not to laugh.
"You're clearly your father's son" she scoffed "Why did you come so late? I want Y/N to answer this one, not you, Ben" she said staring at him.
"Didn't notice the time. Sorry, mum" you told her.
"I expected this from him but never from you" Leia told you.
"Won't happen again"
"No, of course not" she stood up of her seat and walked towards her office at the end of the hallway. "You're grounded".
"What!?" Your voice showed how surprised you were. Ben's laugh made you eyed him a bit angry.
"Sorry, I seriously never thought I'd see the day you get grounded" he explained to you. "Well, Y/N, mom, goodnight" he said and he was about to go to his room but your mother stopped him.
"Ben, that goes to you too." She said. Your brother was pretty much used to be grounded for all the disasters he got himself into, from ending up in a fight to being caught skipping class, somehow he always ended up in trouble.
“For how long?” he asked rolling his eyes.
“A month.”
“A month!?” you shouted, “Mom, that’s not fair. It’s a lot of time, I have plans!” you had promised Rey to take her to some places you liked.
“You should thought that before, Y/N.” she said “No parties, not friends can come, you can’t go out. I want both of you here immediately after school.”
"Fuck!" Ben growled.
"Language!" Your mother snapped and spoke with her voice now more filled with rage. “And you can thank goodness I’m not gonna tell your father about this!.” she shouted. Han had threatened Ben to send him to a military school if he didn’t behave.
"I have a meeting in the Congress in about three hours and I haven't sleep because you two were out there partying, so I would really appreciate it if you just go to your rooms." continued Leia, then she turned around and made her way to her office.
*****
“She really said that?” asked surprised the voice of your girlfriend from the other side of the call. “I can’t picture your mom being angry, she’s always so kind.” Rey said.
“Well, trust me baby, you don’t want to see her angry” you chuckled sitting in your bed, you’ve been talking with her about an hour now, filling her with all the details of your arrival home after Poe’s party.
“Do you think she really meant it? You’ll be inside a whole month?” she said.
“Nah, usually she frees Ben after a couple days” you explained “But she seemed very pissed so I’ll have to spend at least a week or so.”
“So… what now?”
“I don’t know.” you told her “This certainly ruin our plans, sorry.”
“Hey! Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out. I can still see you at school.” she said and the she went silent, you didn’t need to see her face to know she already had an idea in mind.
“Rey, you still there?” you asked smiling.
“Yeah” said Rey “I have to go now, I promise to call later.” she said enthusiastically. “Love you.”
“Love you, Rey.” you said with the wide smile on your lips that those words caused in you every time you heard them, then you hanged the phone.
The time seemed to pass in painful slow motion inside the house. Usually in a weekend like this you would find yourself somewhere in the city with Rey, exploring new places or simply studying together and though it was something very new for you to go out almost every day you were used to it. This was going to be a really rough month.
You kept your phone close waiting for Rey to call again and save you from the boriness, longing to hear her voice again or even see her face. You couldn’t wait until monday to see her again, it was a real torture.
Then the screen of your phone lighted with a picture of Rey and you in the Homecoming dance as it started to ring.
“How’s it going?” was the first thing you heard as you pick up the call.
“I think I’m already losing it” you told her chuckling “I don’t think I’m going to survive this.” you said.
“Shouldn’t Han be coming this week?” she asked out of the blue, Rey and your father were good friends, so it was a commun think to ask.
“No, his schedule changed. He will be out for at least three weeks more” you answered a bit upset, you missed your father. “It’s just Ben and me”
“And your mother?” she asked and it confused you a little bit.
“She had a meeting in Congress, so she’ll be coming late.”
“Great!” she said, her voice sounded both relieved and excited. “Grab a jacket, it’s a bit chill today.”
“What you mean, babe?” you laughed.
“Y/N, look at the window.” she said. You felt the exciting building inside you as you took a look and found her outside the house waving at you. “Are you still wearing your pijama? It’s almost two o’clock” she teased and you just laughed. “Hurry up!”
“Sweetheart, you know nothing would make me happier than to go with you right now, but I’m grounded.” you told her. You saw her rolling her eyes before she spoke again.
“Stop acting like a baby and come down already.” she said. Biting down you bottom lip, weighing your possibilities. The idea of sneaking out with Rey made your body fill with excitement, what was life without a little risk after all?.
“I’ll be there in a minute.” you told her and watched how a satisfied smile crossed her face before she ended the call.
When you were ready you left your room as quiet as possible, carefully checking on the room of your brother, the door was gladly closed so you made your way down stairs rushing to the door only to find him next to the door.
“Shit!” you gasped when his eyes caught you. Ben looked confused to see you but then he smirked as he discovered what was going on.
“Going somewhere?” he said.
“I can ask you the same question.” you told him and you saw him laughing as he shook his head. “You got grounded just last night and you’re already sneaking with her, I’m impressed.” he told you before he opened the door for you. “Go” he winked.
“Seriously?” you asked not really knowing if he was joking or not. “You won’t tell mom?”
“Nah, just be here early.” he said and you walked past him before you hurried to Rey waiting for you outside. “You’re becoming a very bad influence for my sister!” he playfully yelled to Rey.
“Not worse than you!” she told him, Ben limited himself to close the door without another word making you both burst laughing. Rey greeted you with a small kiss before she placed one of her arms around your shoulders to guide you away from your home.
“I can’t believe I’m disobeying mom” you chuckled.
“Well, I guess you finally honor the nickname she gave you.” she told you grinning “Little Rebel, I like it. Now let’s get out of here”

INFINITY
Summary: QUEEN AU where Rog (aka Rowan Queen) is young single dad struggling to make it into music industry.
Warnings: Fluff, Fluff, Fluff, and swearing.
Word Count: 1926
Okay so this is the closest picture I could find to Row's state in the next two chapters:
Chapter 2: PIPER
Row has a lot questions to ask himself, and he knows it's on only his own future at stake, but also The Prune's, who may be getting a name.
Of all the things Rowan Queen might have aspired to be, -a Rockstar, a Roger Taylor level drummer...- a 19 year old solo dad wasn't amongst them.
All he knew was that since he had first held that small Wrinkly being and her eyes had met his, she had stolen a part of him, and that the only way to feel completed again was being with her.
Ridiculously sappy, he knew.
"But that's what makes best parents" Callie, the nurse who had introduced them assured him one day when he confessed his thoughts out loud, while he watched her sponge bath the infant "Don't feel stupid, or embarrassed for feeling that way, Row. In fact, that's exactly how it should be. Always. And those fathers who deny it or fight that connection, end up estranged from their kids as they grow up. Take it from a daughter who hasn't seen her father in 5 years"
But, alas, there he was, living between his flat and the Hospital's newborn aisle, because he just couldn't get that one girl out his head, despite don't knowing how he had come to this.
"Well I haven't seen mine in 9"
"And that scares you, don't it?"
He gasped, and nodded slowly.
"Is better having no father figure at all than having a bad one. Just like I think your Prune is luckier having one brave dad than a coward mom"
"And two fit parents?" He asked, eyes flicking to the untouched pile of adoption papers
"Well that's the ideal situation, isn't it? But the weight always ends up relaying more on the mother, you know? The father always steps back, because society still thinks it's more acceptable for us women to raise the children because, of course, we have deeper connection with 'em for carrying them around for nine months and blah blah blah." She got the towel and handed it to him before laying the squirming 2 day old In his arms.
He carefully wrapped it around her and sat down so he wouldn't drop her, then started to stroke her soft delicate skin with the towel.
"But that's bullshit." Callie continued "That's an excuse you men came up with to sneak out from changing nappies. But I believe you guys are just as capable of taking care of children as us. And that you might be the ultimate proof of it." She gathered her hair in a ponytail, and smiled at father and daughter, as Row was now
leaning back on the rocking chair with the Prune, -as all the staff had begun to call her- laid on his bare chest.
"So forget whatever prejudices you have. This kid needs you, she doesn't know nothing about what's going on, she misses her little warm oven, the voice she was so used to hear and that she'll never hear again because that world has left her behind the first chance she got and she's very confused.
But also, She doesn't know about gender stereotypes, or that she's a girl. But she knows you're here. And her instincts tell her you're safety, and warmth, and love. Sure, I'm around a lot too, but soon you'll be discharged and everything she'll have will be you. A d then she'll grow up and will be forever grateful for everything you will have done for her"
The teen nodded, taking in all the words but remaining silent. Quiet moments like this -when she was calm and content- were quite meaningful.
"I just want the best for her. And I'm not sure I am"
"Well, from where I'm standing, you're pretty much up there. Nobody gets her to settle down as quickly as you do. That has to mean something, right? Newborns have this amazing instinct of detecting sources of love and protection. And you are hers. She trusts you: trust yourself"
Days went by, and Row found himself getting up early in order to go back to hospital. At home he was restless, as questions filled his head.
Was she better off with him?
Was he ready?
How could Callie be so much more sure about the whole thing than he was?
What if be wasn't good enough
What if mom was right?
Why did he want to become a dad in the first place?
Should he just sign those papers before it was too late and forget the whole thing?
The sixth day, he made his way to the hospital as usual, but something felt off. What it was? He couldn't put a finger on it, so he shrugged it off and entered the NICU area where she was.
"Hey, lovely one, look at you, a bit bigger each day" he cooed at his yet unnamed daughter, as he put his hand through the incubator hole to let her know his ore6 "So strong and so beautiful" he smiled brightly as her small hand closed around his finger.
"Yes, this way please" he heard a male voice and turned his eyes to see a doctor and a man and a woman who were probably in their thirties
"Oh my gosh she's so tiny!" The woman exclaimed, walking towards the glass
"Who are you?" Row asked, stepping defensively in front of her before she could reach the baby.
"You must be Rowan Queen?" The man held his hand out "We're the adopting couple..."
"What?" He basically slapped it away "No! Who told you she's in for adoption?"
"Mister, you signed the adoption papers" the Doctor said
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did. Here" the doctor looked through the pile of papers on his hands and showed him.
He snatched the file from him. That was his signature but he didn't remember signing anything. He may have doubts about being a dad, but Callie was right, the little prune and him needed each other. They belonged together And he wasn't gonna give her away. The only way was through.
"There must be a mistake. She's not up for adoption"
"Err... Yes she is" the man said
"No she's not! I should know better than you, huh?"
"We've heard about the mother. So sad. But babies need their mommys, don't they?" The woman cooed from the other side of the incubator
"You can't take her" if looks could kill, Row would have murdered her right then and there.
"Mister..."
"No! He's my daughter!"
"Sir, signing this you gave up your parental rights"
"And what the hell does that even mean?"
"Legally, she's not yours anymore"
"But I don't remember signing anything!"
"But this is your signature"
"Yes. But I... I didn't mean it"
The woman scoffed "Well you clearly did."
"Mind your fucking business!" He snapped, before turning to the doctor "Look, I really don't know how my signature is there but I need you to... I don't know, forget it, okay?"
"Forget it?"
"Yes! Whatever that stupid paper says, I'm keeping her. And I will do everything you want me to"
"Sorry. There's nothing we can do about it now. You could take this to court but... It's a lost cause"
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"A 19 year old against a healthy, stable marriage?" He used the same arguments mom had
"But I'm her dad..." His voice quivered, as his baby started to cry.
"Don't worry sweetheart. Mommy and Daddy are here now" the woman said "Our Judy"
"Judy? What the fuck, you're not naming her Judy!"
"What we do with our daughter is our business, sir" the woman said "Now please, leave us alone"
"No! She's not Judy. She's my prune, I'm gonna prove to all of you fuckers wrong, because I can fucking do this if I want you. Not because I wanted to at first, or because I can't have my own kid like you; she's my own kid and she belongs with me. And I may not be a middle upper class, or drive a goddamn Mercedes, or have a huge house and a stable boring job at whatever office. And she may not have a goddamn mother, or her own room. So what? She has me. Because I'm the one who's been here for the whole bloody week worrying about her. Not you, not her mother. So fuck off and choose another kid!"
Two men who Row hadn't even seen arrive took him, as he fought and called his crying daughter "PIPER! PIPER! DADDY WILL GET YOU! I'M YOUR DAD, DON'T FORGET!"
Then he woke up with a jolt in that same hospital room, as his newborn baby awoke too beside him
He quickly sat up and leaned over to place a hand on her tummy, to check that she was real, letting out a sigh of relief when feeling her warm skin
It had been just a dream. Well, a nightmare rather than a dream. But she was there, safe next to him
"Hey, baby girl. Yes, hello darling. You had a good night? Gave trouble to the nurses?" he asked, stroking her torso "Are we hungry?" He offered his little finger, and she began to suck on it as response, which made him chuckle. "Alright, I'll call so they get us a bottle okay?"
3 minutes later, he was sitting on the green rocking chair, Baby Prune on his bare chest -because apparently skin to skin helped parents and kiddos bond or whatever- as he gave her the bottle.
He had to admit, ever since he had learned how to properly hold her, he looked forward to feeding, because he had grown to love these little moments, and by the end of them, be always felt closer and more in love with that tiny, wrinkled human being which he had helped make.
Who was a part of him somehow, and who he couldn't imagine his life without despite having only known her for 6 days.
She was so amazing. So mesmerizing. With her clear grey eyes and her peachy skin, and her adorable ears.
He just couldn't get his eyes off her.
"You're gonna come home with me in a couple days, and..." He realized he hadn't really thought about a plan. He had just moved out mom's, and the apartment was still empty. He'd have to start getting stuff. But anyway "... And we'll figure something out. I'm not gonna renounce to you. No ma'am. You've got me. And I've got you. And I'll look after you and make sure you're always happy and safe and... loved. I fucking love you so damn much and I don't even know how did this happen. I mean you're not even a week old and you've already turned my life upside down just by bloody existing. You can't even understand what I'm saying. But here I am, making all this plans and Shit... I, who never thinks ahead, who never knows his future beyond what meal he's gonna get. But I... Damn. Do you babies have like special powers or something? Do you like... Is it a defensive instinct? Like you manage to make us go nuts about you by casting a spell it whatever so we'll stay enchanted? Because this is fucking ridiculous."
She finished the bottle and he put it aside.
"Speaking about plans, we can't keep calling you Baby Prune. We're gonna have to choose a name. A pretty unique gorgeous name for a special, perfect little princess like you. So, let's see" he changed his hold on her so they were face to face. Something the nurses had called.. ? He wasn't really sure but he had got hand on it "Yes, hello" he smiled helplessly at the sight of her "Baby girl. Baby girl" he cooed absentmindedly as he analysed her features
Then he remembered his dream. He had called her Piper. He wasn't even sure if he had heard that name before but he liked it. It was original, cool, rare enough people would associate it with her but not awful, like other names he had heard.
"Piper" he whispered, tasting the word while contemplating her face. It sounded good to him. "Piper Queen" he said, a bit louder this time as her tiny hand closed around a strand of his blonde hair. "You like that? Piper?"
She just blinked, but he interpreted it as an affirmative answer
"It's settled, then. Piper. Pips for short." He smiled, and brought her back to his bare chest so he could lull her back to sleep with his rambling, which had worked the previous times.
"My Piper" he kissed her head and began to rub her back "I'm so scared honestly. I won't lie to ya, I have no idea what I'm doing but you can rely on me. I'm good at improvising so I'll figure it out. Don't worry. But you gotta take it easy, hm? If you have a bit of patience, it'll be just fine. And about this?" He reached for the papers -which were unsigned- and ripped them off "Fuck it. Just fuck it."
