also slowly turning around in my brain how rose said she was going to stay with the doctor forever, and then later donna says the same thing (to martha!! the doctor doesnt even hear or know!!! it would make him so happy but hurt him so much if he did!!!!!!), and then when she tells the doctor shes going home in sontaran stratagem he immediately assumes it means shes leaving him for good and accepts it but also launches into all the things he still wanted to show her.
and i know its played for a joke like haha silly martian thats not what i meant! but this is the same man who, when he needed to turn human, loved someone SO DEEP AND HARD that he didnt think he'd ever fall in love again. ever. even with his memory erased. so when you take that moment of "oh you're just popping home for a visit" and like ACTUALLY look at it you're like. this man gets so so so attached to people, and is so incredibly scarred by losing these people he loves that he has no choice but to let them go when they want to leave on good terms, because he knows how bad it could get for them if they stay, no matter how much he wants them to stay.
anyway donna's forever and rose's forever are just different flavors of the same "i need you as much as you need me, so im in it for the long haul, bad stuff included" and its chefs kiss

The Akutagawa siblings are fun to think about for the way they are really, really similar to each other with only a few key differences, but by far one of the most notable to me is this.
Akutagawa: There's no point in trying to untangle the maze that is Dazai's mind. He is brilliant and unknowable. Try to dig too deeply and you will be ensnared in a web of darkness.
Gin, in Beast: This guy's lonely as fuck

Maybe my favorite part about Cheongryeo as a part-time antagonist is that he clearly genuinely likes Park Moondae/Ryu Gunwoo outside of his general obsession with him as someone who knows what he's been going through. It's interesting to have a character who does messed up shit not because he hates the main character or wants to see him fail, but because he wants to challenge him to do better. Except he's also got his brain thoroughly scrambled by regressing who knows how many times and so his 'help' comes with a huge chance of coming closer to sabotage.

Whichever anon sent me this today, thank you. There's no way you could have known, but a couple of days ago I suddenly and without warning lost a cat that I raised from the day he was born. When I saw this in my inbox I was confused at first, because what...checkmark...huh...but then I realized that it meant somebody had sent me something--out of the blue, just because--at a time that I really could use something good in my life, even something silly and fun. So, really, thank you. And green is my favorite "real" color, so having one of the checkmarks be green is pretty neat.
I've not really been able to draw anything worth anything lately, believe it or not, so here's the last picture I have of my Night Furry. He loved drives and walks, so earlier this summer on a road trip I took him to the top of the continental divide for a little hike.
(Yes, he's wearing a harness. He had an adventurous and independent temperament, so there was always a risk of him running off to explore someplace where he shouldn't go alone. I didn't just make him wear it because I'm a cruel and stifling cat butler.)

🕯️ Mainly Man-Bat but also curious what Kirk would think of passing by a certain homeless redhead holding an ominous sign?
Send me 🕯️ to hear my character's inner thoughts about your character.
Creature with a face like stormclouds. It is no human but walks amongst the many preying upon those who foolishly believe themselves to be predators. Those humans soon learn better, at least those who do manage to survive, their blood spilling in the wake of the Rorschach's fury. They think hiding behind thick walls will make it go away but we know better, that it will simply find other ways to catch them instead because it is a true predator, not cowering prey like they are.
Normally competition would not be tolerated but Rorschach is a presence we will accept. We understand each other. We are the same, solo hunters in a city full of prey.
In another time, another life perhaps, Kirk could see himself in the homeless man's shoes. It didn't take much for one's life to turn upside down, to get into things that might have been better off being left alone but it's hard not to feel some sort of sympathy towards the older man. People brushed past him quickly as though he did not exist, keeping their distance but to those who cared to look closer, it was plain to see life had not been kind to the redhead.
Had he always lived in Gotham? Kirk was unsure. He often visited the park, during the day even to feed the birds when his research was getting too much to handle and saw many people but never exactly talked to anybody; Gotham was a big city after all and wasn't always the friendliest either.
The man didn't look so friendly either, but it was foolish to judge him soley from appearance. Plenty of people looked just fine, incredibly handsome or beautiful only to commit the most heinous acts whenever the sun went down. He should know, he read the paper everyday, with something terrible going on or having been prevented by Batman.
Perhaps he should go over and say hello, to talk to the mysterious redhead and find out what he meant with his sign. He might have been just as lonely as Kirk felt, having one less person in his life nowadays.
