I found this pylon particularly interesting because (in the middle band), Khons is shown with a goddess standing behind him, in the position usually reserved for a gods consort. Her headdress is unusual: a shrine, with a rearing cobra deity, surrounded by clumps of vegetation and flowers. However, I'm almost certain it's Hathor since she is shown, in Hatshepsut's mortuary temple, with the same headdress, and it is also her headdress on several examples of sistra handles. This identification is reinforced by the band above, which shows the king making offerings to Hathor, with her regular headdress, and her son, Ihy, wearing the hemhem crown.
I found this interesting since I hadn't really come across an official consort for Khons. Although all the gods are pretty fluid, I tend to associate Hathor with Horus (she's shown as both his consort and, at times, his mum, because…yeah…Egyptian gods 🤷‍♀️). Of course, Khons himself sometimes appears in a similar role to Horus - he's the moon to Horus' sun, and he is sometimes associated with the king (Horus's) placenta. In such a way, he is like a nocturnal, more chthonic, twin to Horus' solar form. That he is shown with Hathor as a consort shouldn't really surprise me. I just couldn't recall seeing them depicted in this way anywhere else.

Headcanon time: is Kai okay with daddy kink?
Ithink'daddy'everytimehe'sonscreen
*Hemhem* I think Kai would be all for the daddy kink- might tie into his whole "titles" thing- he just loves for his partner to recognize his dominance.
Imagine a scenario where he gently uses the edge of one of his blades to tilt his partner's chin up, the other hand tightening the chains wrapped around them. His glowing green eyes smoldering into theirs, a smirk on his lips.
"Are you done being a brat? Or do I have to teach you the same lesson again?"
"Daddy..." They don't know why they said it, it just slipped out unwittingly. They slammed their jaws shut, but it was too late.
Kai's brows raise for a moment, almost archly. Their face flushes in embarrassment, especially when that smug smile widens. He tightens the chains to a point that makes their breath hitch, and then drags them forward.
"That's new, but I can work with it. Come here."
He snatches the chain, forcing them against him, and drops the blade, letting it hang on its chain. Now he's grabbing their chin directly in his hand in a rough grip, keeping their gaze pinned on him.
"Tell Daddy what you want him to do to you."

Cyrus the Great with a Hemhem crown from Pasagardae 559-530 BCE.
"The four-winged guardian figure representing Cyrus the Great or a four-winged Cherub tutelary deity. Bas-relief found on a doorway pillar at Pasargadae on top of which was once inscribed in three languages the sentence "I am Cyrus the king, an Achaemenian." Scholars who doubt that the relief depicts Cyrus note that the same inscription is written on other palaces in the complex."
"Cyrus II of Persia (c. 600–530 BC; Old Persian: 𐎤𐎢𐎽𐎢𐏁 Kūruš), commonly known as Cyrus the Great and also called Cyrus the Elder by the Greeks, was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian empire. Under his rule, the empire embraced all of the previous civilized states of the ancient Near East, expanded vastly and eventually conquered most of Western Asia and much of Central Asia. Spanning from the Mediterranean Sea and Hellespont in the west to the Indus River in the east, the empire created by Cyrus was the largest the world had yet seen. At its maximum extent under his successors, the Achaemenid Empire stretched from parts of the Balkans (Eastern Bulgaria–Paeonia and Thrace–Macedonia) and Southeast Europe proper in the west to the Indus Valley in the east.
The reign of Cyrus lasted about thirty years; his empire took root with his conquest of the Median Empire followed by the Lydian Empire and eventually the Neo-Babylonian Empire. He also led an expedition into Central Asia, which resulted in major campaigns that were described as having brought "into subjection every nation without exception". Cyrus did not venture into Egypt, and was alleged to have died in battle while fighting the Massagetae, an ancient Eastern Iranian nomadic tribal confederation, along the Syr Darya in December 530 BC. However, Xenophon claimed that Cyrus did not die in battle and returned to the Achaemenid ceremonial capital of Persepolis again. He was succeeded by his son, Cambyses II, who managed to conquer Egypt, Nubia and Cyrenaica during his short rule.
Cyrus is well-known for having respected the customs and religions of the lands he conquered. He was important in developing the system of a central administration at Pasargadae governing satraps in the empire's border regions, which worked very effectively and profitably for both rulers and subjects. The Edict of Restoration, a proclamation attested by a cylinder seal in which Cyrus authorized and encouraged the return of the Israelites to the Land of Israel following his conquest of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, is described in the Bible and likewise left a lasting legacy on the Jewish religion due to his role in ending the Babylonian captivity and facilitating the Jewish return to Zion. According to Isaiah 45:1 of the Hebrew Bible, God anointed Cyrus for this task, even referring to him as a Messiah (lit. 'anointed one'); Cyrus is the only non-Jewish figure in the Bible to be revered in this capacity."

🌸 TAG YOU’RE IT! Name your Top 5 OTP created by your fellow simmers. Spread the love and happy simming! 🌸
oh my god oh my lord oh my good jesus you asked the WRONG PERSON LET'S GO
ahem hem hem hem hemm hemhem
Tumblr media
these are not in numerical order i lose my mind abt these ships on the daily
mr. and mrs. drake from @cinamun's amazing "things fall apart" series (we remember the "/indya" tag days ok!!) the love i have for miss indya williams will never die and i swear i feel like i know her like she's a real person at this point, but i have never been more spellbound by a character's growth and development than the kind of writing i see in darren drake okay. these two have been through it, have talked and not talked, have loved and fought, and have gone through hell to be together. never have i wanted two lil pixel people to be happy more than i want them to have a good life with their babies. if that's not love, i don't know what is. (plus the way they abuse that wickedwhims i mean cmon)
jet lem-43 and kana lothario from @gothoffspring's lem-43 legacy! their courtship was so Soft, it literally makes my teeth rot and my heart ache. every touch is so gentle and full of love, they make poses seem as though they were made for these two. i am absolutely gnawing at the walls to see their babies because i know those lil bundles of pixel chub will be precious
@hauntedtrait's mortimer and bella goth are genuinely some of my favorite iterations of my favorite couple, and not just because fangs is my soulmate ok. they're able to add a prose and a warmth to the love between these two that maintains their sensuality while really building a believable foundation of the two's bond, and i'm a big sucker for a devoted morty and a beautiful and kind and mysterious bella ;u;
okay we all know that i'm livin' it up with my husband randy in his motel, and we are of course the top couple here-- pff, if you didn't think i wouldn't be in here losing my mind over the future mr and mrs. finch from @rebouks's incredible epic "somnium", then you don't know me. after my life experiences, i love to see a couple stay strong through hardship: to see them fight and struggle to communicate, and to see them overcome the things that challenge them to come together stronger and with more understanding of one another. courtney is one of the best female characters i have read on simblr in a long time, and it's only fitting that she's earned the love, trust, and protection of one of my favorite good boys <3
and you know, it's a shame i didn't know about them before recently, but @citylighten's sal and eve have a dialogue between them that is honestly so refreshing and so real that i find myself wanting to fcking hang out with them irl. seeing the ways they've grown together, seeing the ways that eve has brought out the softer side of sal and the ways in which sal has boosted eve's confidence in herself, outside of his love for her, for her sake... i just, how could you not love a couple that is so fundamentally invested in their relationship like i am just. besotted.
and personally, the sexual energy between leah morfang and viktor in @aniraklova's amazing universes transcends their outfits and all aesthetics. i just love seein' them together, i really do.
this isn't even all of them i mean good lord. @goodnightlittlewing's henry and bonnie were so adorable that i wanted to travel all over the sim world with them, and @elmleif's cillian and saoirse make me smile every time i see them. hell, i'm almost angry i can't think of all the couples i absolutely adore i'm gonna edit this so much dkfhsdk
oh my god. the ogs. the originals. you know my top otp of ALL TIME.
gael mcmahon and ME his baby assy @buglaur the true otp

Crowns of Ancient Egypt
A brief overview of the different kinds of crowns seen in Ancient Egyptian iconography. Note that I say crown, note headdress; the well-known nemes headdress and similar things not worn by the king and gods will not be covered.
Hedjet: translates as “White One,” the crown of Upper Egypt. Most famously worn by Nekhbet, Horus, and Satet. Nekhbet, the Patroness of Upper Egypt, was occasionally placed on the brow of this crown as an ornamental vulture.
Deshret: translates as “Red One,” the crown of Lower Egypt. Most famously worn by Wadjet, Horus, and Neith. Like her sister, Wadjet- the Patroness of Lower Egypt- would commonly adorn the crown as a uraeus. However, this symbol was featured on a majority of the other crowns as well.
Atef: a hedjet crown with two ostrich feathers on opposite sides. Most commonly associated with Osiris and his followers, but was also worn by Underworld related deities like Sokar.
Hemhem: translates as “to shout,” “cry out.” This translation has led to speculation that it was associated with battle or military power. It’s three atef crowns placed side by side atop curled ram horns; sometimes there is a solar disc above each atef, sometimes just the middle one, sometimes not present. Not specifically associated with any one deity, but Khnum and Sobek are often depicted wearing one.
Pschent: also called sekhemty- translating as “the Two Powerful Ones”- it combines the hedjet and deshret to become the crown of a unified Egypt. Though the Pharaoh Menes is said to have first united the crowns, surviving records show Djet was the first to wear it. Horus is the deity most commonly associated with it, but Atum-Ra was also shown wearing the double crown at times. The Two Ladies Nekhbet and Wadjet would both adorn this crown side by side, further symbolizing the union of Upper and Lower Egypt.
Khepresh: known to exist in the second intermediate period, but popularized in the New Kingdom; worn by pharaohs for militaristic and possibly religious purposes. It isn’t associated with any deities, but as with most royal headdresses it often featured a uraeus.
Cap Crown: one of the oldest crowns of Egypt recovered by Egyptologists, depictions of it stretch as far back as the Old Kingdom. Again, no particular deity is associated with it, seemingly exclusive to the human Pharaoh, but it did almost always feature a uraeus.
Solar Crown: also called a solar disc, this was used to not only signify a solar deity but royalty. It’s most commonly associated with Ra, but many other deities have worn one, even if only in rare depictions. Most commonly, the solar crown is also worn by deities like Horus-Ur (Horus the Elder), Isis, Hathor-Sekhmet, Amun, Tefnut, Bast.
Lunar Crown: like the solar crown, this can also be alternatively described as a lunar disc. Unlike its counterpart, however, it was rarely described with a single phrase despite being not uncommon in depictions. The closest it had to its own word was shared with the moon in general. The crown itself was depicted with the full moon resting in the curve of an upturned crescent moon. Deities like Khonsu and Thoth are most associated with this crown, but Tefnut and Mehit also wore it occasionally.
Two-Feathers Crown: also called the Amun crown as it was most commonly associated with him, but it is also worn by Montu and Min. Unlike the atef, these feathers are described as those of a falcon rather than an ostrich- but similar to the hemhem, they’re placed atop two ram horns and sometimes feature a solar disc.

Can you describe Kai parents appearance from your headcanons more detailed pls? If you describe their costumes that would be great. So if me someone would ever draw them they'd match your headcanons :> if it's fine to you of course
In your last writings you mentioned that Kai's son has his granfather eyes it was so💔🥹 I personally had a headcanon of his mother having blue eyes but father instead is cool too! If I got it right his father is (technically?) chinese and in terms of humans it's still possible for them having blue eyes way more rarely than mongolian and other turk people though
"IF IT'S FINE WITH YOU?!"- YES IT'S FINE WITH ME YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO ASK I'M HONORED DHSHSGSHDH😭💖😭💖😭💖😭
Hemhem anyway:
Yes, Kai and Yuelong both have blue eyes inherited from Bingwen, Kai's daddy. Bingwen is Chinese, but because they're animals and not humans I figured they're allowed a little more diversity in eye color (Tai Lung's gold eyes, Po's green eyes, etc).
I sadly don't have access to many good sources about traditional Chinese clothing during the warring states era, but from what I could glean I think Bingwen would have been wearing something like this:
Tumblr media
However, Bingwen was not a peasant but a scholar, but not a particularly well-known one during his time; however, like I said, I have no great sources for how a scholar would have dressed then. He was alive during the middle/late warring states period (perhaps about 250 BC?) and lived in the Qin state, so that might also factor into his clothing choice. I'm sorry I don't have more details than that, and that what I do have isn't very historically accurate. ;-;
His overall appearance, however: he was a Chinese Black-pied bull, had no mane, and wore round-framed glasses. His head was black, save for a white mark on his forehead that had four points resembling a star (something else his grandson inherited from him). The rest of him was covered in black and white splotches as a typical cow. Kai got his horn shape as well as eye color from him:
Tumblr media
Khaltmaa is much easier: she's basically a female Kai (or, in this headcanon, Kai is a male version of her) with longer fur, brown eyes, different horns, and her mane actually tied up into neat braids instead of unkempt and loose like her son's. Her horns were like a typical mongolian yak's:
Tumblr media
And she wore a deel:
Tumblr media
Probably something like this (as both men and women wore deels at the time), but again, I have no good sources of historically accurate information, so please do forgive me if this is wrong!
I'm not certain if anyone would be able to get any coherent picture out of what I provided here, so honestly just use it as lose guidelines and have fun with it. If you do draw these two though please do show me!!!! I will absolutely explode with happiness! 😭💖🩷💖🩷

So...um...*ahem...
*taps mic*
Okay, it’s working...all right. Hemhem:
Hello. My name is swan2swan, I am a far-too-old adult hanging out on Tumblr dot com, and you probably know me from my gifs and blogs and maybe an essay or two here and there...
....and I actually liked Morbius.
*comes back up from all of the thrown food*
Hear me out, hear me out!
It was a solid 6/10 before the credits. 5/10 after.
The movie had a beginning, middle, and end. Kinda. It had characters. They interacted. There were...relationships. Kinda.
There was a lot of “kinda”. This was “kinda” a movie.
Was it some masterpiece of cinema? Heck no. Is Jared Leto still a disaster? Absolutely. Was there a LOT of stuff that didn’t make sense? I can’t even list all of it.
But did it have an odd amount of fun? Was it really silly? Did it feel like something that would have come out in the 90s and gotten a small cult following and ultimately ended up as a fun rewatch movie? Did the actors look like they were having fun? Were there clear homages and attempts to have something better than what they ended up with?
Yes to all of the above.
I dunno, I have a soft spot for movies that Try Their Hardest desptie not really having a shot at success.
Can Jared Leto fly in front of a subway through all of the plot holes? YES. There’s no reason why mixing bat DNA with human DNA should give you turn-into-smoke powers. I don’t know how Vulture powers his suit without alien tech. I don’t know why it’s only human blood, I don’t know why...actually that might be it for my legit questions. I didn’t pay that much attention for a lot of it.
It felt VERY cheaply made, and honestly? I kinda love that for it. Even if most of the budget probably went to Jared Leto. Everything else in that movie was...yeah.
Morbin’ Time was fun, yinzers.

Unlimited Shapeshifting is both Terrifying and Amazing. I want it.
To clarify I do not mean Realitybending shapeshifting where you can change your atomic structure, nor something like "I can instantly poof into another form". No, I mean like hardcore shapeshifting, but where you can simply learn and evolve through trial and effort, but nothing limits you to how much you experiment with it minus the Laws of Physics.
So, you still need fuel, you still need time to change shape, your skin cells wont just grow like STEM Cells unless you figure out how to reverse engineer STEM Cell interactions within Skin cells.
Anything in genetic engineering is possible, so imagine for a moment: You arrive into another world suffering "The Demon Lord", but the God of that world gives you a superpower of your choice. You choose unlimited shapeshifting. She comes back to congratulate you as she feels the Demon Lord die, only to see a pile of flesh that has consumed the entirety of their castle and created necromorphs and Resident Evil horrors just to win. You are now the new Demon Lord and must be terminated at all costs.
Alternatively, You revolutionize science and begin the biotechnological revolution, giving others magic and flesh powers, and accidentally become a new goddess to the denizens of the world by the time you defeat the Demon Lord.
And ALTERNATIVELY Alternatively, you could simply become a boy or girl or whatever after some experimenting, and form a spy network that nobody but you and some others possibly know is just you and not an actual network.
Or just become a girl or boy on demand and become a standard adventurer.
You can do so many things with this power, and we could SO easily enact the Trans Agenda on the worl-hemhem...YOU could so easily become a nightmare or a goddess.
So, what would you do with this power in the same situation?
