दीनदयाल उपाध्याय सेवा प्रतिष्ठान द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम एकात्म, मानववाद के प्रेरणा स्रोत पं. दीनदयाल उपाध्याय जी के 55वीं पुण्यतिथि पर, उनके बलिदान स्थल पर श्रद्धा, समर्पण - अंत्योदय संकल्प के कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें देश के विभिन्न राज्यों से लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया। एवं विद्यालयों के बच्चों ने भी भाग लिया। इस उत्कृष्ट कार्यक्रम में शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, रोजगार महिला सशक्तिकरण व राष्ट्र निर्माण में अपना अहम योगदान देने वाले संस्थाओं को सम्मानित किया गया। जिसमें संस्था यू.एस.एस.फाउंडेशन को कर्मयोगी सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ। पं. दीनदयाल उपाध्याय जो लगातार युवाओं के प्रेरणा स्रोत हैं। जिन्होंने अपने जीवन को राष्ट्र निर्माण में लगाया। जिनका उद्देश्य सदैव राष्ट्र की भलाई रहा है। आज सभी देशवासी उनके पथ पर चलकर अपने आप को गौरवान्वित महसूस कर रहे हैं। इस कार्यक्रम में आयोजक अनिल शुक्ला राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष युवा प्रभाग, हेमंत राज प्रदेश संयोजक आई.टी. प्रभाग, प्रवीण मिश्रा राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष, सचिव शशि शंकर पटेल, संयोजक प्रदीप सोनी, सहसंयोजक विशाल नारायण सिंह, राहुल वर्मा, पूजा विश्वकर्मा, डॉ आरती भारद्वाज आदि लोग उपस्थित रहे।

Late night walk with Coco...she led the way...to Pavilions so she could walk the aisles as she so loves... As we arrived, a homeless man was going ballistic near the entrance...he needed dog food and no one would help him. I recognized him...minus two dogs some Good Samaritan took away from him yesterday thinking she was doing a "good" thing because he was homeless... he was more broken than ever, down to one sweet dog with no food. I heard the message..."Help him"...and so I purchased 12 cans. While waiting in line to pay, the security guard came in flushed looking for the manager. I knew it was about the homeless man. I'm a fixer and a peacekeeper. I called out that this man had been in the neighborhood for 30 years..that he was a sweet intelligent man that was so down on his luck...all he needed was some kindness...and he'd calm down and go away...and that I was bringing him food for his dog...to please let him be....and so it was. When I handed him the food, he was so grateful, he cried and calmed down...scared they were going to come after him. I told him the situation was handled and to just breath. He gave me a big hug...his dog was so excited....and off he went to find a place to feed his dog and to sleep for the night. We live in a society that ignores the forgotten people around us...sometimes it's hard...lots of addicts...lots of mentally ill...you get turned off and away...but if you take one moment of your life and say hello...or reach out and have a conversation...it could be life changing...a moment where you actually open your heart and connect to another being. I don’t quite understand what is going on anymore. The world is falling apart. I don’t know the facts or the statistics, but I just glance at the news and I’m scared. What if this is really how it ends. What if I never get out of here? You may ask, what is “here”? I’m not even sure. Is here this small mid-western town I have grown up in and have come to loathe? Is it this state that no longer seems to see the importance in properly funding education? Is it this country that is torn in to so many pieces that no one can get along without leaving out their important beliefs and opinions? Or is it just the world?

I know I sound a little over dramatic. I have a great family and I am religious and believe that something is better after this. So most people tell me I shouldn’t complain. But the problem is, I’m too scared not to say anything.
