Scorpius and Rose's dynamic would be like James and Lily's, except Scorpius isn't an arrogant bully and would try his best to get along with Rose's friends because he knows how important they are to her and he really wishes to be part of her life in any way possible.
Oh, and he'll respect her boundaries. If she asks him to leave, he will. If she rejects him, he'll accept it. But until that rejection comes, he'll keep asking her out and trying to win her heart (and gladly welcoming any hexes and curses she throws his way)
Rose wouldn't ever date someone that her friends and family don't aprove of. If he doesn't get along with her loved ones, he's done for.

Part 1 - Part 2 - You're here - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7
English is not my first language, sorry if there is any mistakes
-----------------------------------------------
Y/N had transfiguration class next, it was usually the class were she would sat down next to Lily Evans. The two young women liked each other quite well, they weren’t the closest, each having there own group of friends, but it wasn’t that rare for the two of them to study together, or to talk for hour, saying things they felt they couldn’t tell to the people they were the closest to.
That’s how Y/N found out Lily actually quite liked James Potter, and the rest of the marauders, despite being a bit hard on them. And that’s how Lily found out about some of Y/N’s little secrets, like the chocolate she hides in some classes to snack during lessons or that time she stole back one of her belonging from Finch’s office. Despite being part of his favorite house, the caretaker didn’t liked her much.
When Y/N entered the classroom and greeted her professor, she quickly spoted Lily to sat down with her, her being at their usual stop. But when she was about to put her stuff down, someone else hurried to take the spot. Y/N was about to face the intruder, but her words got stuck in her throat when she saw who it was; Sirius !
“What are doing here, Black ?”, Lily on the other hand, despite being happy to see him again, was not going to let him do what he wants. “What Evans ? Not happy to see me ?”, Sirius did an exagerate pout before throwing an arm around her, “that hurt my feelings, I thought you’d be more caring”
“The sit was already taken !”, Lily tried to push him away, with a hand on his face as he was getting dangerously close. At that, Sirius turned to you, “Oh but you don’t mind, right Y/L/N ?”. Before Y/N was even able to form a thought, McGonagall interrupt them. “If you don’t mind, Miss Y/L/N, I would like to start my class”. She got all red. “Sorry Professor”, she then looked around and sat down at the only seat left, who happen to be right next to James.
Once she was at her seat and Mrs McGonagall started her class, she looked at Sirius and Lily, the black-haired was throwing a big smile at their table, but she was unsure if it was to her as a thank you for the spot –he had stolen-, or to James. Y/N then looked at the boy next to her, a bit confused, shouldn’t it be him trying to sit down next to Lily ? James simply respond with an innocent smile before looking at the whiteboard, to try to pay a bit attention to what the professor was saying.
She looked at Sirius again for a few seconds and smiled to herself, looking at what the professor was writting. She was happy to see Sirius was doing better, was it thanks to her letter ? She blushed at the idea, no, it couldn’t be. Sirius was a strong person, always getting up, he was probably already doing better even before receiving the letter. Maybe he didn’t even got it ! She heard Sirius and Lily talked a bit during class but didn’t think of it to much, he was quite the chatty person, always something to say.
“Shit, can I look at your notes for a sec ? I missed the last bit” James was turned to her, Y/N her eyes widen a little, but then she just chuckled. “Sure” She then turn the paper for him to look; “Th-” but he stop when he looked at it, “wh- How can you read this ?!” he talked a bit too loudly and McGonagall scolded him “Mr Potter quiet !”, “Sorry Professor”.
He turned to her again and talked way more quietly this time, “How can you read this ?”, she smiled and respond with a fake wise man voice “I was there when it was written”, James rolled his eyes and she laught at that, “Here, let me help you”, Y/N told him what was written so he could catch up, he thanked her, the rest of the class went smoothly.
Contrary to what people might think when they found out Y/N loved writing letters, she didn’t actually have much of good handwritting on the daily. When she would send messages, she would take her time, appreciating the moment, but in class ? She had to be quick, write all she could with her own note taking system, if you were able to puzzle out the words it was quite helpful, but only a few people were able to do so.
Even professors had a hard time, it wasn’t as bad as her notes but still could be impossible at moment. Many times have some of them asked her to rewrite the whole essay, one even threaten her to not marked it at all and failed her. After that, she made sure to be just a tad more carring of her homework and tests.
At the end of the period, Y/N calmly put her supplies away, contrary to James who stuffed everything in his bag before joinning Sirius at the door, looking like they were waiting for something. As for Y/N, she went to Lily, they were suppose to study together as class stopped early today –poor Professor Slughorn had a burst of Gargoyle fever-.
“So, do we go to the library ?”, Lily felt a bit embarassed “I’m so sorry Y/N I can’t go today, I have to help Sirius-” she looked over and saw James was there too, she sighed, “-and James with something, is that okay ?”. Y/N’s looked soften, “Of course, there’s no problem ! We could always do that another time”, Lily had a big smile “You’re the best”, Y/N flipped her hair in a faux attempt of looking snob, “I know”, they laughted and then went their separated way after saying goodbye.
-------------------------------------
Lily, Sirius and James all went to the boy’s dorm so she could take a look at the letter, so far, it was Sirius’ best shot to know the identity of his mysterious penpal, he really hoped he will be able to find out who it was.
“Take that smug away Potter, I’m only helping Sirius because he insisted a lot”, James simply put his hand in the air in front of him in a sign of peace, “Of course Evans, don’t you put any worries in that pretty head of yours, I had nothing in mind”.
Before Lily could reply, Sirius put his arm around her shoulders, “You’re a saint Evans ! Thanks you for helping me here, you’re my only chance right now to find the one I’m destined to be with !”, Lily rolled her eyes a bit, “If it’s one of your prank I’m going to hex you so hard your kids will feel it”.
The three students entered the dorm and Sirius sat on his bed. “Yeah yeah, of course, it’s not like you had anything better to do anyway”, Lily open her mouth in disbielive “I was suppose to study with Y/N !”, James scoffed, “Yeah, a slytherin, I don’t understand how you can be friend with her !”. Lily rolled her eyes, an habit she did quite a lot around the marauders, “She’s nice, not all slytherin are death eaters”
It was Sirius’ turn to mock her, “ ’might as well be synonym”. Lily hit him with a pillow, “And what would you do if it’s a slytherin your little anonymous lover ? Or Y/N even ?”. James laughed, “With a pig like handwritting like hers, imossible !”, Lily was now red of irritation from the two young men.
“Show me that dang letter so I can be done with you two !”. Sirius growled a bit and gave it to her, while she was reading he thought of the possibility of a slytherin being the one who send the letter and his nose scrunch at the idea. It wasn’t possible, no slytherin would want to cheer someone up, especially not him, or even to say nice things to anyone.
Then he thought of Y/N. Sure, she never did anything wrong to him, she even was nice enough to listen to him rembled with his anecdotes, she even looked like she was actually listening to him, and she was cute, and she smelled like parchment and roses, and her li-... No, that’s not possible. They barely talk together, never would have she known enough of him to write all those nice words, it was purely a polite relationship.
When Lily finished reading she pinched her nose and then sighed, “I’m sorry Sirius, but I don’t know who send you this”
The boy who was previously abstracedly playing with the “kiss”, jumped out of his bed in one motion to her friend. “What do you mean you don’t know ?? You’re their friend !”. Lily put a hand on his shoulder, “Listen, I didn’t recognize the handwriting, I don’t know anyone who can make drawing moves and the things said are not a secret to any of my friends, I’m sorry”.
Sirius let out a loud growl, throwing his head back, James sympathetically tapping his shoulder. He had such a pityful puppy face, Lily felt bad. This letter was full of love, no denying that, and clearly Sirius wanted to find the one who sended it. “Look, I can give you a list of the friends I talked to the most, that might help narrow it down and I would try to get information, alright ?”
Sirius’ face lighted up and he took Lily and James in a big bear hugs, “Thanks Evans, you really are a saint !”, Lily laught a bit “You already said that”. Sirius winked at her, “We should start with those who write with colored ink maybe ? There shoudn’t be that much people”. James shook his head, ”You don’t remember ? It’s actually very popular, so much, Minnie had to precise light colored ink were prohibited to use on tests and homeworks because some idiots started to use yellow ink”. Sirius had a bit grin on his face, “Then I guess we better get started, Prongs”
And that’s how mission “Anonymous lover” started, the marauders would try to gather information on Lily’s friends, on who might have or might have not write the letter, but they quickly found out none of her close friend had anything to do with it.
----------------------------------------------
The rumors of Sirius searching for a mysterious penpal didn’t took long to reached Y/N. She was a bit shocked, why would he wants to meet her ? She didn’t thought he would tried to find her, she didn’t know what to do, she didn’t want him to be desappointed to found out it’s her. She had talked of it to noone, and she hoped that for now, there were no way to find her, she wanted to think about it for a bit on her own.
After debating with herself for a few day, she decided to have a bit of fun with it, watching Sirius looking for her at the complete wrong place was quite entertaining, and she wanted to try to have a chance to have Sirius to get to know her without the prejudice of her house on the way.
That night, she decided to write, and before classes the next day, she gave the letter to an owl, who would send it at lunch with the other owls. She couldn’t wait to see his face.

Chapter 6: ABBA vs. The Beatles
❉───────•~❉•᯽•❉~•───────❉
“Merlin’s beard! Binns is a sadist; torturing students must be his only pastime,” James yawned, taking his glasses off to rub his eyes.
Nothing could ever compare to the History of Magic. Today, lessons were dreadful and muddy. Professor Binns’ monotone voice filtered throughout the class, rambling on and on about various dates in history. Hardly anyone paid attention before he started calling on students. Annoyed, Binns would continue to reiterate his inquiry until the student(s) got the correct answer, no matter how long it took.
A sadist indeed.
Although Binns wasn’t the sole reason why the class was pathetic, but rather the lack of any practical work was simply a joke. The class only reminded Y/N of her short time in public school. Geometry? Utterly useless for any daily life interactions. To make matters worse, Binns surprised the class with a pop-quiz and two chapters of reading. Luckily, he had an ounce of mercy in his ghostly body and dismissed the class early for lunch.
James continued, “I would rather fight a dragon than — Woah! Your hair! “
She glanced to look at herself through the reflection in James’ glasses. Her hair, which originally was emerald green, was now turning into a golden yellow. The different colours clashed together boldly.
“You look like the banner for the Holyhead Harpies,” Peter said, striding up to James’ side.
“The Holyhead Harpies,” James said dreamily, “They’re probably one of my favourite teams.
Remus, who had been trailing behind Peter jumps in, “You only like them because they’re all women, you wanker.” He turns to Peter, his hand shooting up to the side of his head, massaging small circles into his temples, “Why’d you get him going?”
James became insufferable whenever someone or something mentioned Quidditch. Not only would he boast about his abilities as a Chaser, but he seemingly was a never-ending encyclopedia about Quidditch. It only worsened as November neared, the start of the new Quidditch season was approaching.
One time Y/N found herself stuck listening to him babble about Ireland winning the world cup for about thirty minutes. She didn’t have the heart to stop him, though. Nobody listened to his rants and he could hardly contain his excitement. How could she tell him she wasn’t interested?
A monstrous smirk etched its way onto his face, “Caught me.”
“Be anymore of a predator would ya, Prongs?”
“Hey! That’s not the only reason why I like them. Did you forget their victory in 1953 against the Heidelberg Harriers? Their strategy was blood-fucking-brilliant. They’re legendary! My father was there to see it in person. Lucky bastard. He told me…”
His voice fades into the background as Y/N catches Remus’ eyes. A glint of mischief shined through them before he forced a fake pitiful smile. He mouthed a quick ‘sorry’ to her before looping his arm around Peter’s shoulder, discreetly leaving James’ side and out of the classroom.
That sly, slippery bastard.
"— and did I mention that their seeker was one of the most sought out —”
“Wait, James.”
He abruptly pauses, waiting patiently for her to continue. She leads them out into the corridor and towards the great hall. “Sorry, didn’t mean to cut you off like that, but when is my hair going back to normal?”
Y/N instantly regretted mentioning her hair. There was no trace of a smile on James. His shoulders slumped a bit and his walking even staggered. “Godric, I know, I know and I’m sorry. I thought it would have returned back to normal by now. I’ve been creating reversal spells — even started asking Moony to help.”
“Moony?”
“Remus.”
“Another one of your nicknames?”
“It’s not a nickname! It’s a brotherhood — a pack!”
“Oh, sorry Prongs,” she drawled, a sarcastic smile on her face, “If I didn’t know you I would assume you were an asshole.”
“What? How?!”
“You go around calling yourself a marauder, the king of Quidditch and now Prongs. Seems pretty assholely.”
James’ mouth opens before closing again, repeating the process several times.
“Plus, you pull silly pranks every day.”
He chuckles, “Oi! You helped us with that itching idea!”
Her eyebrows raised in acknowledgement, “Touché.”
To this, James shakes his head, directing the conversation back to the Holyhead Harpies. Inwardly, Y/N wanted to whack him with a broomstick.
They were among the first students to reach the Great Hall, aside from students who had a free or were excused early by Professor Binns. None of the girls were there yet. Unfortunately, Marlene was held back by Binns, so Y/N was left to sit beside James who sat opposite to Remus, Peter and Sirius.
She had been trying her best to avoid Sirius whenever she could. It was clear he didn’t like her. He never laughed whenever she made a joke, he hardly noticed her, he never praised her, even if she tried to compliment him. He was just rude for no apparent reason. The rest of the marauders and girls knew this, although they preferred not to comment about the obvious, strained relationship (which they didn’t even know the reason for. Granted, Y/N wasn't quite sure herself. Was it the rejection, he just didn't like her or is just an ass?).
Although, ignoring and avoiding him proved to be extremely challenging. Y/N was glued to Lily’s hip ever since the Sorting Ceremony. It also didn’t help that if you were with one marauder, another one was sure to follow. She and James started to spend more time with each other, and by extension, she was obligated to be around at least one other marauder. With the addition of study sessions with Remus, it was inevitable.
Surprisingly, Sirius hadn’t made any snarky remarks, excluding dirty looks, he was being… nice — nicer to her. The action was a stark contrast from his previous behaviour and she speculated a few reasons why:
Most likely, James or Lily, she assumed the former, said something to him. Since his little spat with James at breakfast a few weeks ago, Sirius was tight-lipped ever since.
Maybe he was done being a prick, deciding to stop by himself after realizing he was a prick.
Went through something personal, it stopped, and his behaviour improved.
Minutes after the bell rang, students began to trickle in for lunch. The comfortable chatter rose as Y/N finished eating an apple. Everyone seemed pleased when James’ Quidditch lecture was interrupted as hundreds of owls streamed in, packages and letters dropping into the laps of students. She hadn’t expected anything considering her owl, Celeste, didn’t drop anything off since the first week of October. However, today she fluttered down between the bread and fruit bowls, dropping off several letters and a small parcel onto Y/N’s plate, pecking at the bread crumbs on the table. She tore the letter open, inside it said:
Dear Y/N,
Are you still having a hard time with Charms? If so, perhaps I find some textbooks and send them over.
Don’t slack off this year. Send me a letter whenever you have the chance. (Make sure to tell Celeste to be quieter next time. You know I can, and never will get used to the owls.)
Mom
Her mother finally wrote to her. A sense of joy flooded her body as she placed the letter back down on the oak table. A part of her wondered if Celeste was dropping off her letters to the wrong house, the one back in Toronto as her mother never wrote back. She opened the next letter, immediately recognizing the messy scrawl:
October 19, 1975
Y/N! I thought you replaced me with one of your brits, but a false alarm, your letters just take a while to arrive. Must be tiring for Celeste to travel to and from Scotland then America and back. You know, whenever people see her fly in, they still recognize her.
Are you doing anything for Halloween? We’re throwing another dance. Going to be alone this year now that I can’t force you to come. I guess I’ll just watch half the school dry hump each other while I smuggle in firewhiskey.
How’s it going over there? I heard from a few students, even read in the papers about the war. It’s getting pretty crazy over here. Teachers have been meeting and trying to prevent students and parents from losing their shit. My mom has been worried too, writing to me like a lunatic and I’m not even in the UK. The MACUSA have been keeping quiet but they were caught having meetings with counsellors from the Ministry of Magic. Even heard that Jenkins is stepping down. If it keeps getting out of hand here, I can’t imagine what it must be like at Hogwarts. I truly thought the war was dying down, I was wrong. Keep your wand close. Surely, you’ll get away with a hex or two.
Until next time
Matthew G.
So engrossed in her new environment, her old life slipped to the back of her mind. There was a detachment from her reality compared to the one at home. A pang of guilt hit her, swallowing her up from the inside out until another pang hit, loneliness. If she easily forgot everyone, would anyone remember her? None of her old friends, apart from Matthew, had made a move to contact her since she left.
Often thinking about writing them first, she had to remind herself if they wanted to, they would. Especially with the knowledge that people still recognized Celeste.
Was she forgettable and if so, was it karma for forgetting too?
It put a mechanical vice grip on her heart, applying just enough pressure to be a constant reminder. With every beat, it tightened more and more.
Looking around the table, she saw her peers huddle in groups, familiar laughter ringing throughout. So noisy, so taunting. She may have been friends with Lily, Dorcas, James or even Marlene, but they had their own friends. Friendships that had years to develop before she came. She had only known them for less than two months.
Forgettable.
How hilarious, she thought.
“Hey,” a gentle voice cooed into her ear, “Are you okay?”
She hummed back absentmindedly.
James wore a concerned expression, his eyes knitted together, one raised higher than the other like it always does when he was worried. The look he shot her suggested he wasn’t convinced, although he didn’t press; instead opting to stir the conversation. “So, who wrote to you?”
“A friend and my mom —”
A snort so loud that it caused the rest of the marauders, random onlookers and even Lily (who had a look of pure disgust on her face) turned towards them. “What did you say?”
“I got a few letters?”
“No!” He bellowed, “Who sent you them?”
“My friend and my mom —”
Nearly choking on his sandwich, James clutched his stomach laughing. Laughing so hard he has to grip the table to prevent falling off the hall bench. "Haha! Mom?! MOM?” He mocked in a poor American accent, “What the fuck is mom? It’s MUM. Bollocks!”
“We say vitamin.”
“It’s VIT-A-MIN! Who says VIGHT-A-MIN?” Without a pause, James presses his entire body onto her shoulder, smushing her before grabbing the letter her mother sent her. His eyes scanned across the pages before hitting a certain word. “Back home? Maple trees? Where did you use to live exactly?”
“Canada.”
“Canada?! You don’t mean those snowy gits?” At this, Peter and Remus snort under their breaths. Even Lily had to force down a smile.
Staring deadpanned at him, in an unamused voice, “Really?”
“You are a bundle of surprises! I thought you lived… I’m not sure. I assumed somewhere like New Hork.”
“York,” Lily corrects.
“Tomato, tomato,” he jokes, playfully batting his eyes at Lily before biting into his sandwich, “You do live in London, right?”
“Right.”
James takes a moment, letting the conversation die down before he quickly glances at Y/N again. An undecipherable expression crosses his face before it’s promptly replaced with elation, “I take back anything negative I’ve said about Canada. They have an amazing Quidditch rooster. Have you gone to any of their games?”
A low grumble of sighs follows at the mention of Quidditch from James. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Remus shake his head and sighed dejectedly.
“Nah, I’m a New-Maj, remember? My mom — “
“Mum —”
“ — sorry, Mum — hardly understands the wizarding world, let alone what Quidditch is.”
His eyes were wide, whimsical, as a hand flew to his chest dramatically, “Rubbish! Bloody ridiculous! You’ve never seen a real Quidditch game? One day, I swear I’ll bring you to one! Or you can bring me to Canada one day and we can watch a home game!”
As James continued to rant, Y/N’s mind slowly drifted back to the bitterness in her chest. Trying to distract herself, she borrowed Lily’s quill and a few sheets of parchment, scribbling down letters in response.
Mom,
I’m fine with Charms, you don’t need to send anything. And don’t worry, I’ve been studying for my OWLs.
Love you, write soon.
The next letter was addressed to Matthew:
Matty Matt,
Of course, I didn’t replace you… yet.
Another dance? You would think the students’ protest last year would have influenced the professors this time. I guess it’s time for you to get wasted. I didn’t tell you last time but I think I’m going to a party. A friend of mine is throwing it and I know he’s going to force me to come no matter what. He briefly mentioned costumes and drinks. Plus, there’s going to be some kind of prank that I may or may have not been a part of? Sounds cool right?
Yeah, I’d say it’s been bad up here. I don’t know much about what's going on outside of school, though. The professors are hiding it well. I didn’t even hear about Jenkins stepping down. Keep me updated.
Until next time
She sealed the letters before sending Celeste off again, “Be quieter when you drop off the letters, yeah?”
❉──────•~❉•᯽•❉~•───────❉
It must be her lucky day.
The ringing of the bell went off, signalling the end of class. Professor Flitwick asked the students to stay behind so he could hand out quizzes the students completed on Monday in preparation for their upcoming test on Growth and Reductor charms the following Tuesday.
It was never a good sign when a professor flips your test over to prevent other students from seeing their mark. Flipping it over at a downwards angle, Flitwick handed Y/N her quiz.
Turning it over nervously, a tight coil formed in the pit of her stomach. A large P was plastered on the top right corner in bold red ink. She studied hard for this too. Angrily, she shoved her work into her bag and left the class. This was the third poor she'd gotten in a row. She should have told her mother she needed those Charm books.
“I swear I’m going mad! Her brother is a complete cow! He even — are you listening?”
She looks at the girl beside her, Marlene. Her glossed over, doe eyes must have served as an answer before the blonde shook her head.
“Sorry, distracted,” she mumbles, before forcing out a fake-happy tone, “Continue your story! I wanna hear!”
“Hey,” Marlene says in a softer voice, “If something’s bothering you, you can talk about it.”
“No, it’s okay,” she replies instinctively. She felt bad spacing out during Marlene’s story but her mind was running through and under hoops. The last thing any fifth year student needed was to fall behind in their classes, let alone feeling like nobody cared about them.
At that moment, she wished she was wrapped away in red and gold blankets to wallow in her self-pity party, away from prying eyes. She could feel the burning sensations of tears building up.
Dammit.
Y/N looked out the window to her left. The sky was melting with the warm hues of reds and yellows while the other half was being slowly engulfed into a cloak of twilight. Even from here, she could feel the cool air seeping in from the windows making her tug on the sleeves of her robes.
She continued, “I’m just tired — been a long day. I’m going to take a nap before dinner. See you.”
Judging by the look on Marlene and Lily’s face, guilt riddles her body. They both look sympathetic. The pity only made Y/N feel disgusting. In all honesty, Y/N will care later. Right now wasn’t the time and she desperately needed some shut-eye.
Before she left the room, she overheard them talking.
“What’s up with her?”
“Dunno.”
Great.
❉───────•~❉•᯽•❉~•───────❉
Sleep did little to ease her thoughts.
The same uneasiness she felt on the train ride to Hogwarts settled deep into her bones again. She thought she was past this. The worrying about friends, missing home, feeling alone, failing class, stressing about her future. The rational part of her brain knew it was just one silly quiz (and old shitty friends), but knowing herself, if she were to continue to have this mindset, she would only fail in the end.
Dinner ended and Y/N belligerently climbed up the stairs towards the library to attend today’s study session. The Charms quiz threw her into a loop and it was better not to dwell on it, opting to rather use her time for something useful.
Her marks improved significantly since she attended her first session two weeks ago. The last couple of assignments and quizzes she handed in that she worked on during the groups were some of her best work, ever. Additionally, her ability to retain information was improving at astonishing rates and she found herself participating in lessons more often. Unfortunately, she started to doubt her abilities again.
There weren’t as many students as usual. Perhaps it was because of the Quidditch meeting for all teams tonight, or because nobody wanted to spend their time in a library Friday night. She assumed it was the latter.
Although, the same student with black hair from Slytherin was there; tucked away in his usual corner. He was always there. Whether it was the study sessions, another OWL or NEWT student or he simply just enjoyed the library, Y/N could always rely on him sitting there in his little nook.
In the far back, surrounded by tall bookshelves sat Remus. Another student, a first or second year, judging by their height, seemed to be asking him a question, rapidly writing down something on a piece of parchment whilst they walked away. Remus leaned back in the brown chair, his right leg was folded over the other as he stretched.
She spent over twelve hours minimum with Remus directly since the first session, minus the time he was around James and the girls. Perhaps she only started to notice afterwards but she swore Remus wasn’t around this much before. Now, he was everywhere.
In the past couple of weeks she’d gotten to know him, she made a mental list in her head of him:
1. Remus loves sweaters. They weren’t flashy, seemingly preferring to wear ones with small designs, stripes or a solid colour. He wore green the most. He also wore cardigans. Two, in particular, he wore the most; one was white and the other was a muted brown. They were big and hung off his loose frame, the pockets were often stuffed with books, rumpled parchment and his wand.
2. He’s a coffee addict. He drank it in the morning, the afternoon, at the study session and sometimes with meals at dinner. He loved to dump pounds of sugar, so if he only drank black coffee, it usually meant he was in a bad mood. James even joked that he became Sirius whenever he drank black coffee, because haha! Get it? It’s BLACK coffee!
3. He frequented the library whenever he wasn’t with the rest of the marauders. He enjoyed poetry, wrote post-it notes after post-it notes to annotate his favourite parts. He even slept there from time to time, not without having to persuade Pince to not give him detention.
As if Remus magically sensed her, he took a large inhale before he stopped stretching, opening his eyes to look at her. A small smile was plastered on each other’s faces. He stuck up a few fingers to wave at her, motioning her to come over.
“Hi Y/N. I thought you didn’t come on Fridays?”
“I don’t but I have a test, Charms, Tuesday.”
“Oh, well I’m happy to help.”
“Thanks for the offer, Professor Lupin, but just being down here will help me focus.”
A scarlet blush settled on his face at the mention of his tutoring. “Well come sit with me then.”
Pushing the chair out of the way, she sat down beside him, pulling out her cassette player and earbuds along with her notes. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Remus staring at the player curiously.
“Do you want to listen?”
“If you don't mind. I didn’t know you could use these here.” Picking it up, he turned the rectangular device.
“If record players work here, why not this?”
She hands him an earbud, alongside a small collection of other tapes she had on hand.
“Choose whatever you want to listen to.”
Without much thought, he pressed the play button. The upbeat tune of Waterloo by ABBA trickled into their ears. Y/N bobbed her head up and down before the song was suddenly stopped.
A sour grimace sat on Remus’ face before their eyes met, his nose upturned slightly.
“Why’d you stop it?”
“I hate ABBA.”
“What!?”
“I just don’t like their cheesy disco-pop-esk sound. They sound generic and random words are thrown in when they don’t add to the song.”
“Jeez— never met anyone who hated them that much.”
A ghost of a smile appeared before he flicked through her collection of tapes. He picked up Abbey Road by The Beatles. Opening the player up, he slid out Waterloo. With a click and the press of a button, Come Together played.
“So you hate ABBA but not The Beatles? Benny and Bjorn said they were influenced by them!”
“Keyword: Influenced; which is just another word for a shitty knock-off version.”
4. Remus Lupin is apparently a music snob.
“Well, I think both are good.”
“Respectfully, I disagree with you.”
“Whatever you say, professor.”
"I've been thinking a bit, why did you come to Hogwarts? Why not just stay at your old school?"
The sudden switch of topics threw her into a loop. “Wasn’t by choice. My mom’s a doctor and got a position here. It was too good to turn down. But it’s not bad. There’s less wizarding laws.”
He nods his head, "I'm assuming you have dual citizenship?"
"Mhm."
About a half an hour passed as she sighed for the umpteenth time before putting down her quill. Her chair scraped back noisily as Y/N’s hand balled up into a tight fist, feeling her fingernails bite into her palm. She’d been flicking through her notes, the words all blended.
At this rate, if History of Magic didn’t exist, Charms would surely be her least favourite class.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?”
She was at a loss, this was the third time Remus had offered to help and he was persistent. She felt horrible that she was taking up his time to help her on a stupid Charms test.
He continued, “If you think bothering me is an issue, it’s not. I run the sessions on Friday. It’s my job.”
“Fine, but there has to be something I can do in return.”
“Hmm,” Remus pondered for a second, “How about this, I tutor you in Charms and in return you give me your Potions notes? I'm dreadful at it.”
“Deal.”
“Great. Before we start, is there anything in particular that you have questions on?”
Silently tapping on the quiz she received today, Remus snatched it and quickly scanned over her answers and Professor Flitwick’s notes.
“I see what happened. You know, the curriculum taught at Ilvermorny is different. That’s probably why you can’t understand some of this shit.” He cleared his throat, “So as we know, the growth charm increases the size of your intended target…”
His voice, like a light switch, changed instantly. Instead of his softer deep, raspier voice, it became commanding and steady. He never stumbled over his words and articulated his points elegantly. She found herself enraptured by him, understanding why he was in charge of the study groups.
Eventually, Remus takes a pause, “Does that make sense?”
“Yes. You know, you’re really good at this. No matter how much I asked Flitwick or even Lily I could never get it.”
A large blush bloomed on the apples of his cheeks before he shyly rubbed the back of his neck, averting his eyes. “I’m not that good.”
“No time for modesty, Professor Lupin!”
“Okay, okay! So here, do you see what went wrong? There would be a reaction with those two spells if —”
A boy, small, most likely a second year, stood at the foot of the shared table holding a large red and gold book. His hair, dark ginger, similar to Lily’s, was cut short. He fiddled with his fingers as he continued to stare at the two.
“... Um, hi. You're Remus — right?”
“Yup. Did you need help with something?”
“Yes! I’m having trouble with the Transfiguration spell, beetle into button.”
A look of understanding passed through his face before Remus turns to look at her, “Duty calls. It’ll be quick.”
“Of course, take your time.”
It was not quick. Understandably, very few were successful at the ginger’s age to perform the spell, but thirty minutes passed and the second year still didn’t understand the basic concepts. No matter how many times Remus had reiterated his point differently, the boy couldn’t retain it.
“I just don’t get it.”
“You learned this last year, it's a quick revision. I’m not sure what part you’re talking about. Look, do not wiggle or twirl your wand left, direct it towards the right. You have to picture the spell in your head before saying the incantation.”
He guided the boy's hand steadily before performing the spell himself.
“I don’t understand!” The boy whined.
He sighed, “Then we keep trying —”
“It’s too hard. Why are they teaching this crap anyway?”
“Could you stop complaining?” He snapped, closing his eyes before he realized what he’d just done. “I’m sorry about that. I’m… just tired. I can’t help you anymore, though. You should ask someone else,” Remus said brusquely, his eyes unnerving as he stared at the child. As a result, he yelped out a ‘thank you,’ rushing off in the opposite direction.
The muscles in his jaw tensed under the soft glow of the table lamps. There was a pale red tint rimming his eyes and he looked visibly paler than normal. Irritated, he bounced his knee rapidly, up and down, before looking out the large window beside them. The sky was mostly cloudy. Only the peak of the silvery moon appeared. A sliver was missing before it was fully complete.
He closed his eyes, before breathing in. His posture once stiffened, completely relaxed before a flimsy smile reappeared on his face, returning his attention to Y/N.
“Let’s continue, shall we?”
“If you’re tired we can stop.”
“No, s’okay. I’m fine — really.”
She chewed the inside of her cheek, adding to her list:
5. Remus was always so hard to read.

So this is a section of the first chapter of an attempted Jeddy focus fic that I had no title for but the placeholder title was basically “That One Where Everyone Comes Back To Life” and, yup, you guessed it, it was supposed to be about people from the first and second wars being brought back, and I was hella into it, but I couldn’t seem to write more than a tiny bit. SO here’s the beginning of it, for your enjoyment:
The last thing Tonks remembered before blacking out was the adrenaline that had her drunk as she shot hexes and curses from her wand, running from one room to the next, where she’d last seen Remus with Kingsley Shacklebolt and Filius Flitwick. With the bit of light that shone through the windows from the waxing quarter of the moon, as well as the eerie glowing colors from the spells that were shooting above their heads, she had a clear enough view of her husband when he fell to the ground, stone still and pale.
She remembered the sound of her own scream, the anger and devastation as she ran towards him. Then she remembered the wave of black clothes and unruly black hair from the corner of her eyes, taking them away from Remus long enough to recognize her aunt before her form was blinded by a flash of green light. Then nothing. Darkness, cold, the scent of rain, and her eyes were blinking open to watch the sky and the moon.
It had to be a habit now, obsessively staring up at it until she’d managed to deduce it was a few days passed the full moon. Her brow drew together in confusion. The moon had only been a quarter full last time she saw it, and now it was slowly waning past the full moon. How long had she been unconscious?
Her head and body ached as she rolled her head to the side, groaning and shifting around, using her shoulder to get leverage enough to lift herself up, staring down and noting the dew heavy grass and the crushed flowers she’d been lying on. It took her a moment longer to actually look up, a short gasp on her lips when she found Remus just beside her and lurching towards him to grab handfuls of his shirt at his shoulders.
“Remus!” She gasped, noting the healthy color to his cheeks and the way he reacted to her voice, grunting like he normally did in the mornings when she tried to wake him up.
“Minute,” he mumbled roughly. “Five more. Too tired.”
“Remus, get up!” Tonks sighed in exasperation, and Remus groaned.
“I’ll get Teddy next time, it’s your turn to feed him.”
“Well what if he’s not hungry and he just wants his dad?” Tonks argued, quickly remembering the situation and shaking her head. “No, Remus, this isn’t about that, we’re outside! Don’t you remember what happened, where we were? We’re in a war, we have to get up!”
Remus’ eyes snapped open in surprise, stark realization and panic, jerking to a sitting position and throwing an arm out in front of Tonks, holding his right hand up to brandish a wand that wasn’t there. He stared blankly at his empty hand before unfurling his fingers, looking around slowly.
“What is this? Where are we? This isn’t Hogwarts.”
“You remember that too?” Tonks asked, sitting with her legs sprawled and her hands on the ground behind her to keep her propped up, gaping at Remus. “We were inside, I know it. One of the open corridors between the towers, right?”
“Yes.” Remus lifted a hand to his head, shutting his eyes tightly. “Merlin my head.”
“Mine as well, it feels like I’ve run a mile or held my breath under water too long.” Tonks blew out a heavy breath, shaking her head. “I don’t understand. The last thing I remember is Bellatrix shooting a curse at me. I could have sworn it was a killing curse, but did she actually just teleport us?”
Remus shook his head, eyes still shut. “I assumed the same thing happened. I saw the green light, it was unmistakable.”
“A new teleportation spell then, it has to be.” Tonks chewed on her bottom lip. “What do you think happened? We have to get back as soon as possible.”
“Yes,” Remus agreed, and they both rose to their feet, swaying from the same wave of dizziness and clinging to each other.
Tonks was the one to notice first, looking back and forth and blinking with an expression of uneasiness. “Remus… we’re in a cemetery.”
“That’s not unsettling at all,” Remus hummed, eyeing the moon suspiciously before looking at the headstones. “Do you recognize it?”
“Not really.”
“That tree is familiar.”
“It’s a tree Remus, they all look the same.”
Remus rolled his eyes as Tonks giggled a little at her own joke. They were holding each other’s arms, facing each other as they looked around the area slowly, deciding they were entirely alone. Just ahead of them they could see the silhouette of a cast iron fence that surrounded the cemetery, and beyond that was a road with lamp posts shining dull yellow light onto the sidewalk.
It certainly gave Remus an eerie feeling of deja vu, as if he’d been there before, but what broke that concern was how they’d gotten there, and how long they’d been unconscious. Were there any others from the battle there? Teleported from Hogwarts, likely through dark magic in order to keep them from interfering. Merlin, Remus hoped everyone was alright. Harry, the others in the Order, all those kids getting drawn into a war.
He hoped Teddy and Andromeda were alright.
Remus swallowed around the lump in his throat, trying not to remember the moments before he’d left the safe house with Kingsley, insisting Tonks stay put with Teddy, who was wiggling in her arms with brilliant gold eyes and a tuft of blue and brown hair. Those eyes had fluttered to Remus before little lips pulled up and Teddy made a noise like a laugh, waving tiny fists in delight.
Innocent, precious, the only thing that mattered.
When he left that house it felt like half of his heart had been torn from his chest, and seeing Tonks running towards him at Hogwarts before the battle just brought him more pain. He was grateful she was there, because he was terrified while he’d never admit it, and didn’t want to be alone. At the same time he was horrified she was there. If he lost her, he wouldn’t know what to do. If she’d died, or he’d died, if they’d both died; but they were alive.
The night air smelt of fresh rain, but there was something potent on the wind that itched his nose. Something unnatural, like a badly made potion.
He turned his head to follow the gust of wind that blew at him, eyes dropping to the ground at his feet and staring at the flowers set up there. Little clay vases filled with fresh and dead bouquets, ribbons weathered by the sun and undone, petals scattered over the earth in front of a low head stone. Using the light from the moon, Remus read over the names etched in the pale stone, and he felt his throat close up.
Tonks was speaking, muttering theories of how they’d been teleported or moved there from Hogwarts, saying it was likely not much time had passed at all, they may even still be in Scotland, they had to get back to the school as soon as possible so they could ensure everything was alright before getting home.
“We’ve been gone too long as it is, probably days, poor Teddy is probably missing us.”
“Tonks…”
“We’ll make it up to him, we’ve plenty of time too. I’m not even worried, I know things went well, I can just feel it. It was Harry, I know it, brilliant boy.”
“Look, Tonks…”
“I hope that woman is at least in Azkaban, if she comes near my son-”
“Dora.” Remus lifted his hands to her shoulders, squeezing them, and she gaped up at him.
“What? What is it? Did you remember something?”
“Dora look,” Remus’ voice trembled as he looked back down at the headstone. “I… I’m afraid those green flashes were precisely what we thought.”
Tonks just stared at the gravestone, slowly lowering down to her knees to see closer and reaching out to feel over the cool stone, shaking her head.
“That doesn't… make sense.”
There were names, two of them, printed simply in the stone and almost painfully obvious.
Remus John Lupin
March 10, 1960 - May 2, 1998
Son, Husband, Father, Friend
OoM
~*~
Nymphadora Tonks Lupin
July 15, 1973 - May 2, 1998
Daughter, Wife, Mother, Friend
Auror
Tonks slid her fingertips along the death date, opening her mouth and looking up at Remus with wide eyes. Her hair was growing pale, white in shock, which hadn’t happened in a long time. She tended to try and control her emotions enough to keep her hair a single color, even if that color was fluorescent pink, but the shock of the situation they were in was too much.
She whispered the question. “We're… dead?”
Remus had no answer, because he didn’t feel dead. The headstone couldn’t have been faked though, this wasn’t a prank. He thought hard, and yes, he remembered the flash of green light. More than that, he remembered hearing Antonin Dolohov’s snarling voice as he spat the curse.
The killing curse.
“We’re not dead,” Remus decided, looking at his hands, the ring still on his left, the scars and gnarled knuckles. He was definitely not dead.
“Then what’s this here for? This is the date of the battle, Remus.” Tonks moved her hand to trace the letters OoM under Remus’ name, head tilting from the sensation of curiosity that peaked between the anxiety and uncertainty.
“Because,” Remus hesitated, dropping his hands and shaking his head, “because I think we were dead.”
Tonks stood up slowly, both of them staring down at the grave with shared looks of confused panic.
“People don’t come back from the dead, Remus.”
“I know.”
“So what’s going on?”
Remus just reached over to take his wife’s hand, squeezing her fingers. “We’re going to find out.”

Hearts Don’t Break Around Here (Remus x Reader)
What can i say? Ed’s new album inspired this xx listen to the song here
Tumblr media
She is the sweetest thing that I know
You should see the way she holds me when the lights go low
Shakes my soul like a pot hole, every time
Took my heart upon a one-way trip
Guess she went wandering off with it
Unlike most women I know
This one will bring it back whole
Daisies, daisies perched upon your forehead
Oh my baby, lately I know
You had known Remus since you were a first year; he was best friends with your twin brother, Sirius. Everyone knew that you were both head over heels for each other since second year — it was now fifth year and everyone was pretty much tired of how oblivious the two of you were.
If anyone asked you if you had feelings for the tall marauder you would blush furiously and timidly say no. But you knew that you were lying, you had a crush on him since second year and you hoped to have the courage to profess your feelings to him one day, but were afraid to do so for the sake of your friendship.
If anyone asked him if he had feelings for the youngest Black sibling (youngest by twelve minutes but Sirius dubbed you as the baby of the family) he would nervously say no, that it would be wrong to have romantic feelings for his best friend’s younger sister; inside his mind it was different, he wish he could go on and on about how wonderful you were, how your laugh was his favorite sound and how he was definitely sure that you were sweeter than chocolate.
That every night I'll kiss you you'll say in my ear
Oh we're in love aren't we?
Hands in your hair, fingers and thumbs baby
I feel safe when you're holding me near
Love the way that you conquer your fear
You know hearts don't break around here
Oh yeah yeah yeah , yeah yeah yeah yeah
Study dates were a Friday night ritual for the two of you, even though neither one dared to say the word date out loud. This particular Friday you had come down with a terrible cold and could barely walk straight.
“Y/N, you really should rest, I’m sure your professors will understand if you miss class today, hell I’ll even make it sound that you’re dying so they don’t give you any problems.” Lily said as she put a hand up to your clammy forehead.
“I’m not upset about missing class…” you mumbled.
“I’m sure Remus will understand that you can’t make it to your weekly library date.”
“It’s not a date.”
“Then what do you call the love sick lingering gazes?” she teased.
“Sod off, Evans.” You muttered as you sank deeper into your blankets.
“Love you too! I’ll see you later, okay?” you simply nodded as she left.
A couple of hours past which were mostly spent sleeping on and off, by dinner time you were starting to feel a bit better and were about to fall asleep once again when a knock woke you up.
“Come in!” You hoarsely called back. You heard a faintly “Alohomora” and Remus came in with a tray of food.
“Hope you’re feeling better.” He said as he made his way to your bed, gently setting down the tray on your lap.
“Now I am.” You replied, smiling broadly. He had made you some chicken broth and tea.
“Just so you know, Pads and Prongs were very close to starting a vigil for you…” he said chuckling. You arched an eyebrow in response, prompting him to go on.
“Lily really did sell the story of you being on your deathbed, you would think that Sirius would know if his twin was truly dying but he claimed that the twin telepathy wasn’t working properly because it was raining today.”
You snorted, shaking your head as you picture the scene, but were thankful that Remus was the brains of the group and that he was kind enough to come and check on you.
“I figured you didn’t want a Sirius induced headache so I set up a few more spells so he wouldn’t be able to come into the girl’s dormitories.”
“Remus, have I ever told you how much I love you?” you said gratefully but quickly turned a deep red once you realized what you had said. He simply looked down and smiled, running his hand through his already messy light brown hair.
You finished your meal and asked Remus if he could bring you another blanket, he quickly went to get you one.
“Scoot over,” he said. You were confused but did as you were told.
“Remus, I don’t want to get you to get sick!” you protested, not because you didn’t want to cuddle with him, but because you really didn’t want to get him sick.
“Don’t worry Y/N, I’m a healthy wolf.” He said with a lopsided grin.
“That was one of the worst wolf jokes…What would the guys say? You can kiss your comedy club goodbye.”
“Well aren’t you the funny one tonight.” And so you spent the rest of the night bantering and laughing. He had his arm around you, protecting you from the world, your head on his chest. You fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
She is the river flow in Orwell
And tin wind chimes used for doorbells
Fields and trees and her smell, fill my lungs
Spent my summer time beside her
And the rest of the year the same
She is the flint that sparks the lighter
And the fuel that will hold the flame
Oh roses roses laid upon your bed spread
Oh my, hold this, oh this, I know
Not that Remus needed any confirmation that he was in love with you, but the moment he took a whiff of his Amorentia potion, the smell of your shampoo, chocolate, and caramel coffee overwhelmed his senses and prompted a deep blush to cover his pale face.
“So does it smell like my sister’s fruity shampoo or no? perhaps like the sickly sweet coffee she drinks?” Sirius said as he smirked at Remus knowingly.
“Not now Sirius…”
“I’m just saying, I wouldn’t mind having you as a brother-in-law.”
Remus, Sirius and James left Potions class, both of them were teasing Remus but stopped once they sat down in the Great Hall next to you and Lily. You happily waved to the boys and after a few minutes someone tapped your shoulder. You saw Sirius glaring at whoever was behind you and how Remus had a confused looked on his face.
“Y/N Black.” Called the voice from behind you.
“Lucius Malfoy.” You said as you turned around, of course you would have recognized that snobbish voice anywhere. You had been introduced to the Malfoy family when you and Sirius started Hogwarts but since you three were sorted into rivaling houses, the pureblood friendship that your parents had hope for had vanished. Or so you had thought.
“Will you do me the honor of accompanying me for a short walk?” he said offering you his hand while throwing your brother a condescending smirk.
“What if I say no?”
“Trust me, this is not an offer you can refuse, darling.” The way he said darling made your skin crawl, you decided to go with him just so he would leave you alone. Your friends threw you worried glances and you saw how James had to place a hand on Sirius’s shoulder to stop him from attacking Malfoy, you also noticed how Remus was also glaring at Lucius. Yeah, it was better to humor the Malfoy snob than have Sirius expelled because of a fight.
After a few minutes of  walking in silence, Lucius spoke up.
“I don’t understand why you mingle with those sorts of people.”
“Well, one of them is my brother.” You said curtly.
“But the mudbloods, Lupin and the Evans girl?”
“What about them?”
“As if you don’t know what I mean, with such a pretty face, being a blood traitor is something I could easily ignored.”
“Excuse me?” you said, stopping in the middle of the hallway.
“All I’m saying is that out of you and your so called brother, the only one worth saving and keeping pure is you. What do you say if we got to know each better at the next Hogsmeade visit? “When hell freezes over, Malfoy.” And with that you spun around and went straight to the Gryffindor common room, no longer hungry.
Once your friends got back and saw you sitting by the fire with a scowl on your face they knew that whatever Malfoy wanted was nothing good, and they were right.
“So, what did that git want?” Sirius asked as soon as he spotted you.
“He basically told me that I should consider the Black family ‘motto’ and that by dating him I could atone for being a blood traitor.” The room went silenced as you said, good thing it was only the marauders, Lily and you in the common room because you didn’t want anyone else to witness Sirius’s reaction. In an instant he drew out his wand, James tackled him as Remus shouted expelliarmus.
“HOW DARE HE? JAMES GET OFF ME, I NEED TO GO AND KILL THAT WEASEL.” James was currently sitting on top of Sirius, Remus had his wand with a scowl on his face and Lily just looked apprehensively at the situation.
“Sirius, I said no, he’s a horrible human being. I mean he basically told me what mother is always telling us, to remain pure. I’m not stupid, I obviously turned him down.” You said, putting on a smile for your brother so he could calm down.
You all calmed Sirius down, and soon enough him and James were planning a prank on him while Remus watched you carefully. You were far too quiet and he was starting to worry.
You excused yourself and headed towards the astronomy tower. Lucius words did get to you, it hurt that he spoke of your brother and of your friends in such a way, especially of Remus. You didn’t even realize that hot tears were cascading down your cheeks, it wasn’t until someone placed a handkerchief on your lap that you looked up and were met with a familiar pair of green eyes.
“Thank you.”
“Always.” Remus murmured as he pulled you into a hug, your tears soaking his dark red sweater, as he rubbed soothing circles on your back.
In that moment you fell harder for him, if that was even possible.
A couple of weeks passed after the Lucius incident, and soon enough the whole school found out that you had turned down one of the most prominent pure blood heirs. Sure enough, Lucius would throw snide remarks your way whenever he would see you, usually you didn’t let that bother you, although Sirius hexed him at least five times over the past two weeks, whereas Remus didn’t like you being alone in fear that the spiteful Slytherin would hurt you in anyway.
Remus and you were making your way towards the library, it was a Wednesday night but the full moon fell on a Friday this month so you had to rearrange your weekly study date. You were laughing at something Remus said when you were harshly shoved aside by someone’s shoulder, your books flew out of your arms and next thing you know, Remus had Lucius pinned down against the wall, wand drawn out and pointed menacingly towards his neck.
It took you a good five minutes to coax Remus off of the now scared looking Lucius. As soon as Remus lowered his wand, he ran off.
“Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you did he?” Remus asked, scanning you over for any sign of injuries.
“You could’ve gotten expelled if you attacked him! What were you thinking?” you asked with a voice full of worry. Remus started laughing.
“Moony! This isn’t funny!”
“Love, I would get expelled in a heartbeat if it meant that no one would ever hurt you.” You didn’t know what to say, his eyes shone with sincerity and love. It was in that moment that you realized that the boy in front of you saw you the same way that you saw him. You hugged him tightly and he did the same, he looked down and asked you if you were really okay, instead of responding, you acted on instinct. Heart hammering wildly, you rose on your tiptoes and kissed his lips. You heard him gasp into the kiss but he started kissing you back in a heart beat, you were both smiling into the kiss once you realized that you both felt the same way.
“I guess we ought to thank that git for this, huh?” Remus said as he took your hand into his.
“I would say yes but he’s already too full of himself…”
Later on that night when you came back to the common room, hand in hand, the whole room did a double take from your faces to your intertwined hands.
“IT WAS ABOUT DAMN TIME!” Sirius shouted as he and James came sprinting down the stairs. Lily squealed as both you and Remus blushed furiously.
“Now Remus, I know that you could easily tear me apart with your furry little problem and all, but if you hurt my sister…” Sirius said, smiling at the both of you. Remus simply chuckled and shook his hand. The rest of the night was spent as usual, only this time around Remus didn’t let go of your hand at all.
Well I found love in the inside
The arms of a woman I know
She is the lighthouse in the night that will safely guide me home
And I'm not scared of passing over
Or the thought of growing old
Because from now until I go
Every night I'll kiss you you'll say in my ear
Oh we're in love aren't we?
Hands in your hair, fingers and thumbs baby
I feel safe when you're holding me near
Love the way that you conquer your fear
You know hearts don't break around here
Oh yeah yeah
Many full moons had passed as you and Remus began dating, the current one came and went, you still weren’t allowed to accompany the rest of the guys into the shrieking shack but you waited for them to return so you could tend to Remus’s injuries. It was around dawn when Remus came stumbling in, dark circles under his eyes, but overall it didn’t look as bad as other moons. You gently dabbed at the wounds on his face and tucked him in. As you were about to leave he grabbed your wrist.
“Stay with me, love? I missed you.” You nodded, a loving smile on your face.
A few minutes passed by, you thought he had fallen asleep but you were surprised when he nudged you.
“I love you.” He said as he kissed the top of your head with a smile.
“I love you too, now get some rest, I’ll be here when you wake up.” You answered back, snuggling closer to him as he wrapped his arm around you.
You both fell asleep intertwine in each other’s warmth and love.
I feel safe when you're holding me near
Love the way that you conquer your fear
You know hearts don't break around here
Oh yeah yeah
You know hearts don't break around here
Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah
