hi everyone do you ever think about how hellboy was named because he was literally just. a little boy. he was just a child. they named him because they couldnt hurt a child. so they brought him home and named him after being a little boy. fuck anung un rama, he is a little boy.

and when he grew up (insanely fast) he kept the name, bc hellboy is an incredibly simple and clearcut character. hellboy is about being human. all he has ever wanted was to be human. and so he is. time after time after time he makes the choice to be human, because the point the comics make is that it is a choice, despite checking off every box in the fucked up antichrist chosen one box, despite his arm and his crown he cant rip off. everyone including fate is trying to strip him of his humanity, and sometimes choosing to be human saves the day and sometimes it hurts himself or others, but he chooses it anyway bc that is the point of him. bc he is just a boy. lilies grew out of his blood.

he gets sadder and wiser and more fucked up as the series goes on but he never changes enough to stop being human and that is the POINT he is hellboy he is a boy i am on my knees i love him. do you understand me.
