Christmas Jumper. I’ve finished my jumper. I used the Brick jumper pattern found on ravelry. I used sparkly double knit with 2 strands of machine wool. I used chunky brown wool for the duplicate stitches on the reindeer and sequin fabric for the antlers. Here is number two in our series of watercolor Christmas card tutorials for 2023. We'll be uploading a new tutorial every day in November, and they will all be quick, simple and easy-to-do so you can fit them into spare moments or sit down with the kids or grandkids to enjoy a happy time together getting in the festive mood.

Christmas Card number 2 is a simple Christmas robin. You only need a few supplies - red, brown and light blue watercolor paint, white gouache and a brown or black fineliner pen. My paper is a 5x7" piece of 100% cotton paper by Meeden (scroll down for a discount code) but any watercolor paper that's at least 140lb will be fine.

Last night at 1am I finally finished what I am calling “Phase 1” of the smallest’s Christmas stocking. I’ve had this fabric for ages so not entirely sure why I left it to the week before Christmas to make it! 😅😅 but anyway, I did it in two nights. The first I made a pattern and then cut out the fabric and one set of wadding. I then realised I didn’t have enough wadding or anything to finish the edges with so spent a good 40 minutes finding places that sold what I wanted, but used Evri and not Royal Mail (FYI I support the strikes! 💪🏻). Then last night I cut out the last bit of wadding, sewed the bits together by quilting, sewed the front and back pieces together and then spent ages trying to make the bias binding work even though it was nowhere deep enough for what I needed! 😬😬 I’m very pleased that it’s finished to a useable state! The next phase will be unpicking the bias binding and the seams, finishing the seams properly and adding bigger bias binding to the seams and also the top! 😃 Ill also add a loop and I’m thinking a nice tassel too!
