Week 1 - Day 1 Meals - Bloo’s Plant Based Journey. . . Breakfast - Baked Sweet Potato, pan fried mushrooms in Plant based yoghurt with parsley and chives. . . Mid Morning Snack - I just grabbed half a sweet potato . . Lunch - Baked Sweet Potato with pan fried mushrooms, the other half of the sweet potato in a plant base yoghurt with Berbere Spice Mix with Baby Spinach and Rocket. . . Tea- 2 sandwiches with malted granary bread, little gem lettuce, cucumber, apple, plant based mayo. . . Yes Tea not Dinner. I don’t like eating a Dinner style meal at the end of the day. ROUND 2!!! Tanny has half the beds made for the greenhouse YAY!!! . . For those interested we are using 3in x1in x 2.4m stud pieces because up until tomorrow they are £3.25 each at @wickes noooo I’m not sponsored or affiliated just informing those look for cheap wood to make beds with. . . Some days Tanny and I just want dinner. Today was one of those days. Yup Toad-In-The-Hole with Mash and Onion Gravy. . . Is it Pinterest worthy? Nup Is it Insta worthy? Does it really matter? What it is is real… it is the sign that 2 people are exhausted… too exhausted to eat. . . It’s a sign that those 2 people even though one tries to eat as plant based as possible sometimes just have to deal with what they have. . . Everyone has a day and Tanny didn’t get home until 5 to 6pm after leaving for work at 4am. As for me I was up at 3.30am and have been editing everything I possibly can to try and catch up. Before stopping everything to make dinner and have it on the table for when Tanny got home. . . What he found was an almost made dinner while I was struggling to use the potato ricer and was close to tears. . . That man proceeded to drop his bag and come straight to me and take it off me and finish the job. No words … just actions. Some days that’s all we need. . . At least we have dinner for tomorrow all made. Tanny made us brekky this morning. Supporting local producers and local business is important to us and we do so as often as we can afford to. . . Yesterday Tanny was doing his Saturday morning run and stopped at a wonderful butchers in Penistone. Where he picked up Dry Cured Bacon and Tomato sausages you see here. Which can I just say OMG!!! AWESOME!!! . . He’s also picked up Cumberland Sausages and a couple of Pork Pies for later in the week… as well as the Huntsman’s Pie I showed you yesterday. . . I have been experiencing extreme executive dysfunction the last couple of weeks. . . Basically I couldn’t get my work done … any of it. Every little change to routine made things worse. Today though there’s seems to be a small glimmer of coming out of it again. . . Garlic, ginger and soy cabbage with noodles. The first time I’ve properly cooked in that time. . . It is what it is and it is a part of life for those of us who are neurodivergent. . . I e been making some Chicken and Mushroom Bakes for Tanny for work. I want to make around 4 different flavours for him so he can have different ones every time and doesn’t get bored with them. . . So out of £12 of ingredients I will be able to make 3 perhaps 4 dozen of them. You can only purchase 8 of them for that price and yes I will work out the cost of gas but I will also say this when I have a baking day I cook all day long. Which is far more cost effective than having it turn on and off for a bit here and there. . . Ok so after 4 1/2 hours the boys have given up for the day. They are frozen and frustrated and confused. . . @atlivingandhome please do check your instructions and give proper measurements for this product. . . The door is less than 5 foot 5 inches. How do I know? My hubby is only 5ft 5inches tall and he has to duck to get through the door. . . The roof is only 6ft tall. I mean we’re hobbits and we have to duck to get through the door… like seriously!!! . . Ahhh well it’ll do for now but we will have to look at something more permanent or maybe a different set up for it… and change our plans for out the back area. We shall see though. . . For now the day is done and the boys did awesome. Tanny and Bam looking very serious about this. It took them 3 HOURS to work out how to put the 1st wall up due to the instructions being so poor. . . So they are only using the instructions now to get the right parts and are working out their own way to get it done. . . I’m all for having a greenhouse but I am also all for having a usable cooking space. I’m going to be so glad when this is done and I can have my kitchen back lol. . . We bought it at @atlivingandhome and unfortunately the instructions are incorrect and badly put together. I know companies don’t want to spend a lot on instructions but we keep ours in case we move etc. If I were putting instructions together instead of drawings I would use photos. The way these are put together are really difficult for those with dyslexia as there is way too much on a page. . .
