🔥 for both BG3 and Stardew Valley?
BG3:
This is a tough one because I think most of the characters are really, really well done.
I’ll go for an NPC and companion: Gortash and Shadowheart.
Gortash: he’s got a cool voice and I personally love his outfit, but the huge fandom for him is a bit surprising to me, especially as I consider him the least redeemable of the Dead Three.
Shadowheart: I like her growth, but honestly— that comment about refugees during the tiefling party always throws me right off (you want animals treated kindly, but you can’t empathize with refugees….?). I know the point is that her morals/perspectives are all over the place but boyyyy I really can’t get over that one.
Stardew:
This one is hard because I feel like all the characters have a good healthy balance of those who love them/despise them, haha.
I think for me it’s Haley and/or Alex. I do really like their character arcs, but they’re just not my type. It also doesn’t help Alex that I haaaaaaate jocks and he reminds me waaaaay too much of the guys who played on my brother’s high school hockey team, which is a major turn off, haha.

My nickname in the UC discord was ‘aster but diagnosed’ and now that Amelia has acknowledged it I want to talk about why.
Minor spoilers for Unprepared Casters Arc 4.
Aster (no last name) has ADHD, and it is a major part of why he ended up leaving home.
Adhd is often seen as “haha this person talks too much and can’t sit still in class”, both in society in general and fandom spaces. People don’t talk about executive dysfunction- being unable to start or complete a task, even if it’s not a difficult one- or emotional dysregulation (compounded by frequent negative feedback from adults and peers) or pretty much anything other than impulse control issues.
Aster does lack impulse control, but he also has other signs and symptoms of ADHD that I won’t get into because I haven’t relistened to the arc yet.
These struggles are a prime excuse for the way Aster and Quinn’s parents treat them. I believe it’s called the golden child / scapegoat dynamic. Aster’s mistakes, mess-ups, and symptoms are treated as irredeemable character flaws. He is constantly unfavorably compared to his twin sister Quinn, who herself is harmed by 1) witnessing her brother, who she loves, being mistreated and 2) knowing (consciously or subconsciously) that her parents’ love is conditional upon her being well-behaved and accomplished. In other circumstances, Quinn and Aster could have ended up resenting each other for the family dynamic. The fault lies with their parents, who have failed to recognize and support their children as individuals with unique needs.
Aster is traumatized from being emotionally neglected in this way, but he is also traumatized by the experience of having an unnamed, invisible disability. He, too, has internalized the idea that he is the problem, that he will always be judged as a failure and deserves said judgement for not functioning as well as people like Quinn. His anger issues are an obvious result of this. Aster has ‘leaned in’ to his reputation as a troublemaker as an attempt to take control of the narrative, an overcorrection for likely years of trying and failing to live up to his parents standards. Feeling hopeless to improve, he gives in to his impulsivity, feeling like he has little to lose now. Is this healthy or productive? No. But he lacks literally any support system other than Quinn and some of their friends. They’re all just teens. No adults seem to care about Aster’s well-being, only about his rule breaking.
Even in a world where ADHD was a known thing and Aster had been diagnosed, it’s a lifelong disability. You don’t grow out of it and there is no cure. Aster’s parents would likely still treat him unsympathetically. “We pay for your medication, we got you a special education plan, we’re doing everything we can to help you.” “We just need you to put in the effort that everyone else is putting in.” It’s pretty much impossible to get non-disabled people to understand what it’s like having a disability. Shitty parents are going to be shitty parents, no matter the reason or pattern.
I don’t really have a conclusion to this, other than Haley did a fantastic job with this character and I wish I was a blue tiefling who could throw knives.

Every Unprepared Casters arc summed up:
Arc 1: Dragons In Dungeons
Just your classic D&D adventure, featuring a human fighter, a high elf cleric, a tiefling bard, a... guy who... throws his soul at people? and a... a robot wizard?
Arc 2: Lovejoy's Four
GAY! CATS! GAY! CATS! GAY! CATS! GAY! CATS!
Arc 3: Gonna Raise Hell
Gonna Raise Hell, more like Gonna Kick Haley's Aaaassssss!!!
Arc 4: Orb Is Life
Orb orb orb orb orb orb orb orb orb orb orb
Arc 5: Lives Of The Party
The arc that probably would've been two episodes shorter were it not for all the bad rolls.
or, alternatively:
The arc with Omen Haxolpenny
Arc 6: The Glacerian Trail
The arc with the world's saddest man and the world's saddest horse
or, alternatively:
*curls up in a corner and cries*
Arc 7: Wizards Off The Coast
Hey, remember all those characters from arc 1 you loved? They're all sad now! (Except Thavius)
Arc 8: The King Is Dead
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

sdv bachelor/ettes and how they'd play dnd bc this is my blog okay
abigail: tiefling hexblade warlock, minmaxes but everyone forgets because she tries to flirt with every npc, yells she has darkvision every time darkness is mentioned
sebastian: forever dm, somehow half his bbegs are edgy necromancers and no he will not take constructive criticism about it
sam: half-elf bard, just wishes sebastian would make the bbeg a dragon for ONCE, is not a horny bard, makes fun of the edgy necromancers in and out of character
penny: gnome cleric, plays the healer/support and does it exceptionally well, thanks the dm every time without fail
alex: human fighter, the tank who never participates in making the plans but deals a good slashing so it's okay, goes to the bathroom just before his turn in combat
haley: high elf sorcerer, was blackmailed into playing and is somehow now the face of the party, wants to make sure everyone understands her character is hot
emily: kenku druid based on her parrot, experiences 0 struggles roleplaying a mimic character and it's both upsetting and delightful, has sewn her own dice bag and regularly fishes out crystals instead of dice
shane: dragonborn rogue (doesn't understand optimization), has rolled initiative against party members because they didn't trust him, at least he hasn't tried to pickpocket them (yet), doesn't confirm he can be at the session but is always there
leah: firbolg ranger, rolls to forage anytime there's a forest involved, has accidentally poisoned party members by way of poor roll, is always late by at least 15 min and doesn't mention it or apologize
elliott: air genasi paladin, makes speeches about his god all the time, has written pages and pages of backstory and doesn't understand why the dm hasn't plugged it into the campaign yet
maru: changeling artificer, no one understands what she's up to until it's over (even the dm) but it's always brilliant and chaotic/insane, owns a whole box of dice, would make a fantastic dm if she tried
harvey: vedalken wizard, first time he cast fireball he flamed half his party by accident, owns all the physical guidebooks, really wants to multiclass but can't pick a second class

THEY ARE MINE
The world of Cor Varias had known its fair share of hardships. The gods, caring for the people they watched over, stepped back from the world to watch from afar. As civilization grew around the scars of the Disparity, the world and its inhabitants began to progress the world due to their own cooperation and ingenuity rather than leaning on divine powers too much. And the gods wouldn’t have had it any other way.
The prime heads of the deities had issued the Law of Direction. Divine beings could not directly interfere with mortal progress. They could appoint clerics and paladins and influence many other heroes, but even with them, they could not directly intercede in any way that would dramatically alter mortality’s development. Any choices or efforts or any discoveries could only be influenced by divine help if directly called on by mortality and, even then, the deities could only offer minor aid unless it was to intercept any malevolent divine force.
Mortality grew and, eventually, a lot of the gods faded into obscurity, though still watching from afar. The world grew its own conflicts and mortality continued to rise and fall with each decade. No one new the threats that lay within chains or deep within the abyss were stirring.
In a tower beyond space and time, a cloak battered against the pace of her walking as she entered the meeting chamber where several demigods like herself stood around a table. Her eyes red and lavender as she took her seat.
“Feels weird to call us a council, so I won’t. Especially since we’re all married. In any case, Cor Varias is in trouble as you all know and as much as we want to do this for ourselves, the Law of Direction limits our ability, even as demigods.” Petra spoke.
Haley smiled. “I’ve been doing some research and I think I found us some candidates for eyes on the ground. We obviously can’t bless them like gods, but we can help steer them in the right direction.”
Marasenna, in her intimidating glory, nodded. “We also aren’t as bound by the law so we can actively fight these threats. But these three will have to take the lead.”
Lyria restrung her bow. “Well, then I guess we have our work cut out for us. Who do we have?”
Verity placed out three dossiers on the table. “One is a sorcerer. A diplomat of the Tabaxi Order. Incredibly powerful. Nearly impossible to kill and has a twinge of dark in them.”
Emily, eyes still closed in meditation, agreed and continued. “There is also a tiefling. Deep hemocraft is woven into her blood, but something stole her memory. She knows nothing of her past, but she has a fight in her you can’t match.”
Aerin continued. “And finally, a cleric like you, Petra, but this one harbors an aura of death. The Mistress, Malathriel, has taken a special interest in her. Loving family, but she also houses something ancient. Malathriel loves, cherishes, and cares deeply for her clerics and has always honored the Law, but this young aasimar also harbors power from the deep. We suspect Zigguridan and his cult had a hand in it.”
Petra drifted her hands over the dossiers. “Well, they all fit the part. They have a long journey ahead of them. Especially if the hope to catch us and our thousands of years of experience. Nonetheless, we can’t let our foes know we are making moves. Senna, Em, and Haley, I think you should go wake them up. Cor Varias is about to get very interesting indeed.”
@ebevkisk, I spite wrote this. Also, an introduction to my new world I’m building and I think you’ll love who protects this world. Consider this a reminder of my darling lovelies as well as my D&D characters written as the SHOULD have been written.

Seeing as the new arc comes out in less than 8 hours; here are my theories that I posted on the UC server.
Theory/Thoughts
First off, most of what I know about DnD is from the podcast, Rules and Subclasses and that are NOT my thing so these thoughts and theories are just random fun things.
Level 8 because Haley is DMing and Haley seems to like higher levels, but 15 is the cap(for now). So she’s not gonna do super high but I also can’t see her doing lower than 5, especially because 1 was level 3, and 4 was 1/2.
My other thought is Level 4 might be a good level for a “party” because they’re the lives of the party(supposedly)
It’s a Party, someone has to be a Bard, The title also gives me the vibes of a super sneaky boi, so I think there will also be a rogue. I think there’s going to be some sort of magic user, so probably either druid or wizard. If there’s a party there might also be someone with fun trinkets or something, so there might be an artificer as well. Lastly we haven’t had a blood hunter so I’m HOPING there might be one, but it doesn’t quiet feel right for this arc so my backup is Barbarian for no reason.
Gus has played Annie and Sir Mister, Gus is a fairly diverse player so far on Unprep, so I could see him trying out a blood hunter, but I don’t think he actually is so Imma go with artificer.
James I know literally NOTHING about, butttt, I’ve seen Grace mention her a couple of time and from that and that alone I’m going with Bard. Maybe a Glamor Bard? But I’m not solid on that mostly because I don’t know much about Bard subclasses
Owen is Owen and I feel like would go for a wild card, he did Diarmad and while I don’t think he’ll play a similar character, I feel like the character will have similar chaotic energy and I think a Barbarian would so well for that, or maybe a fighter honestly. I think he’s going more melee this time around.
Chris gives me the vibes of a rogue and I’ve seen him play once(not DND tho) with Amelia and those are the vibes I got from that stream.
Pax played Deb the tiefling bard, so I don’t think he’s going to play another bard, but I feel like he’s going to play a magic user, so I’m going to go with a Druid or Wizard. Leaning more towards Druid just because of how Pax played Deb, I’m leaning more towards Druid.

[Image Description: A poster showing Deb, a chubby pink tiefling with short gray hair and short, rounded pink horns. They are wearing brown leather armor and a white shirt. They are smiling widely at the viewer. There is text over their chest labels them “Deb, Bard”. The background of the poster is graph paper with D&D related notes sketched across it. There is also a pencil off to the right side and three dice in the left corner, a D6, a D8, and a D20. Above Deb’s head is the logo for “Unprepared Casters” and smaller text under that reads “Episodes every Monday” with the icons for Spotify and Apple Podcasts. /end ID]

Hey all, I’m going to be in a podcast! Unprepared Casters is a podcast co-hosted by two of my friends, tiktok users Haley @/whipjack and Gus @/gusthebard. The podcast is going to be a series of interconnected arcs set in the same world but with rotating casts and DMs. I’m not going to be in every arc but I’m in the first one and it’s a lot of fun so far! A trailer for the show is up now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and you can also follow the show there. (I’ll also probably shamelessly plug the Patreon at some point after launch)
Episode 0 and 1 will be posted March 15th!

Fear and Loathing in Las Thaygas
 Today in D&D!
We’re starting a new game, the follow up to Neverwinter 1933:
Fear and Loathing in Las Thaygas - 1966
The Setting: Faerun, 1966, the City of Thaymount, gambling capital of Faerun! Sin City! The hub of Cleric County!
The Premise: The days in Thaymount and ONLY in Thaymount are getting shorter, unseasonably. Most of the city has been willing to ignore this, since gambling/drinking/spending is way more active at night. However, two of the Tel-Quessir (Elf Mafia) families (of the 5 families) that are trying to build out in the desert are worried and have put their own Ech-Quessir (Made men/soldiers) on figuring what the hell is going on. So, along with their own contacts and some hangers on, the new gang sets out to solve this mystery!
The Cast:
Sabriel “Blackjack” Everswift  -  A soldier for the Dawnshade family, the Wood Elf mafia from Neverwinter. Race - Wood Elf Class - Rogue Player - Nora
“Dr Chooch” Mawtz Stonebaker - The scion of a famous pizza-restaurant family/Drug Dealer. Race - Kobold Class - Cleric Player - Rex
Columbia “Columns” Weathers - A Private Investigator/Wizard. Race - Wood Elf Class - Wizard Player - Steph
Sephentris “Bishop” Yateveo - A hit man for the Maendellyn Family, the Sun Elf Mafia in Neverwinter. Race - Sun Elf Class - Barbarian Player - Haley
Peghi Spidersbane Leitcha - A grandmother who was sent on a trip to Thaymount by her children for her 69th birthday so she could see the big city. Race - Goliath Class - Warlock Player - Mercury Hat Johannes “Johnny” Strauss - A rebellious lycanthropic young man with a motorcycle and a dream. Race - Tiefling Class - Fighter Player - Marty
Please stay tuned! Or don’t, I don’t know your life.
