Small detail, big difference (imo)

Picture 1: Okita forcibly grabs Heisuke’s arm because the latter is holding Chizuru’s hand. Heisuke seems to be in pain (since he has tears in his eyes). Chizuru looks distressed.

Picture 2: Okita (instead of Chizuru) grabs Heisuke’s hand, Heisuke only seems shocked. Then Okita grabs Chizuru’s hand and runs off with both Heisuke and Chizuru, smiling happily. Chizuru looks puzzled.

Also, can someone tell me in which context this little HSSL animation was made? Was it in the game files?

Hakuouki fans, do you think one event between Chizuru and Harada in each month is too few? Or do you think it's really enough to build a relationship?

This is not only about Harada's route, by the way. I'm talking about all the routes.

I have never fallen in love before. That's why I was wondering if like only 12 events in one year and 48 events in 4 years are enough or not? Or is it possible that there are more events that the hakuouki team does not show us?

Crying over SSL Kaoru's Route

i can't stop crying over them, someone pls help me….

I finally can play Hakuouki SSL on my pc, and ofc the first route i finish is Chizuru's twin, the one and only Nagumo Kaoru.

I really craved for "Yukimura" twin sibling bonding moment or them having actual sibling relationship (not where one of them trying to kill the other one).

AND SSL IS WHERE OTOMATE HEAR MY PRAYER

Whatever issues SSL's have, i just want to see my Yukimura sibling being happy :( so heres some rambles about it since i'm so happy after finishing it right now T_________T

-> KAORU PREFER CATS THAN DOGS!!!!!!!!!! also his reaction when Chizuru choose the same animal as him (despite Chizuru was like "B-but i don't hate dogs…" its literally the "You like waffles so you hate pancakes" shits) is just so cute and on brand. He really acts and looks like cat tho, theres also part when Chizuru calls the cat "Kaoru~" and the cat "meow" at it. I'm literally on tears rn…..

-> Yes… he has his own "Dead Note" where he put peoples names on it… thats so nerdy wtf (love him more). He also part of disciplinary comittee so he put names on students who broke the rules (or studets who getting too close to Chizuru) and give them strikes after that, well maybe its really a dead(th) note in some way.

-> Kaoru and Okita…. no matter what timeline it is i guess they just can't get along huh. Okita without his coughing and Kaoru without sniper behind him, this scene looks like shitan Okita's route remake in some way lol. Happiest ending ver.

The only time Kaoru and Okita actually "get along" is when they confront Sannan who suddenly being a "creep" to Chizuru

Which…. well deserved actually. Sannan you really need to sounds like it when you actually "didn't mean anything" hh….

Borderline-siscon-overprotective-brother personality really suits him lol

I mean, i think if the original timeline Kaoru have a better past with the Nagumo's or him and Chizuru isn't seperated, i think he will be like this too. His "Kawaii imoutou" phrase whenever he referred to Chizuru wouldn't sounds creepy or full of loath, but more actually loving and caring.

I mean, i think the main reason he "Hates" Chizuru is actually because he loves her so much, he thought she also have the same life as himz and he dream to someday he will make her happy together with him again just like in the past. But the feelings become cloudy when he learned his beloved sister forget him (when he always think of her), having a way better life, loves by everyone, and also she rejects him at the end. He thinks sibling should feel e/o but Chizuru didn't feel him at all, doesn't even remember her past/family, and living "her best life'". Theres black feeling right there but still he can't stop loving her so the only solution for him is to just bring her suffered like him.

*cough* so SSL is here to bring the pain away from them.

This is one of the funniest Kaoru overprotective mode, he really act as if he is also not a "16 year old" kid. AND I'M WITH CHIZURU, WHO IS WHO?!?!?!?!JSDHSBHS The only obvious one is "Idiotic student council president"??? T_______T Loose cannons is Okita i guess????? Happy-go-lucky is Heisuke??????

Tsundere big bro and bold lil sis

Even though yes Kaoru is really siscon like here, its actually still in the sibling border. Like the way he loves Chizuru is not disgusting at all, he just so protective and genuinely want to "fulfill" his role as big brother to Chizuru, but didn't know how to handle his feelings well lol so he really ends up being a tsundere mess.

I mean look at this one example, at first Chizuru is hurt, Kaoru then laughing at her, but when he realize Chizuru is actually hurt, he become worried and piggybacked her?! AND THEN LOOK AT THE PHONE MESSAGE SCREENSHOT, HE LITERALLY MAIL THAT TO CHIZURU AFTER THE EVENT. Thats so sibling thing,,,

Different from Kaoru who become "tsundere" when he expressed his actual feelings, Chizuru is actually so much bolder. She talks back to Kaoru, take initiative firts, and just "meh" it a way when Kaoru say bad things to her. It's like the gap of how different someone can be with their sibling vs with other people.

Heres some example lmao, Chizuru holding Kaoru's hand first so casually and Kaoru said he hates it but didn't trying to get away at all. (he loves it ofc he is). Then the bottom picture, its Kaoru mailing shits to Chizuru when he actually watching Chizuru from the crowd, and well Chizuru responds to his mail is sure come from heart <3

I need to put this because its funny seeing Kaoru dumbfound face while Chizuru saying the same thing 3 times cause his stupid brother apparently can't grasp the fact that his sister give him chocolate on valentine day WHEN HE ACTUALLY FORBID EVERYONE TO BRING CHOCOLATE AND DOING INSPECTION OF IT SINCE HE DIDN'T WANT CHIZURU TO GIVE CHOCOLATE TO ANYONE. What a cute irony.

Oh, and of course if we have bickered moments we also have the sibling wholesome moments

Also, when Kaoru calm like this, their face really looks like a copypaste (maybe because iT IS a copypaste) somehow i giggle at this.

Mun has only played through Souji’s, and Chikage’s routes in Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms. IDC about spoilers about the other routes so please feel free to spoil away.

Mun has only seen the Reimeiroku anime, the 2022 liveaction drama, the SSL liveaction drama, and the 2021 OVA/Demon Fleeting Blossom OVA. Mun is kind of afraid to watch the following animes that isn’t Reimeiroku (or the Demon Fleeting Blossom OVA) cuz of how dirty they did to my boy Souji, and also not being much of a fan of the canon route. Don’t let this stop you from writing with me though. I respect everyone’s thoughts and opinions.

My rules apply for all of my blogs. Shipping stuff may vary though, but for romantic shipping, Souji will only be romantically shipped with any Chizurus out there cuz it is who I can only see him getting romantically involved with. My package came today and I couldn't wait to open it. I would have wanted to take good pictures but I'm too tired (no, I'm just lazy). There's so many cute stuffs.

I still have another package to unbox tomorrow and another coming in a few weeks. I think I bought a lot of stuffs this month (pre-birthday gift to myself since my birthday is next month). I am most excited about my KALIMBA. 💕 I bought one last Sunday (September 12). I hope I get it within this week.

The Collection Purge Continues…

Good lord, this has been An Experience™ @_@

With my offspring finally back in school, I've been able to get back to focus on sorting things and I still have a lot of 2.5D stage and anime related items that I'm hoping to find new homes for.

I've rearranged my Google Drive albums sorting items into types so that it might be a bit easier for me to explain costs and whatnot, but feel free to ask for clarification on anything. Going to include some collage images in this post to help provide further examples of some of the items I have and their prices, but with the 10 image limit I won't be able to fit everything.

Couple of things to note:

All items are in used but good condition

Prices are in USD

I am open to reasonable best offers

DVDs, Blu-rays, books, manga, audio CDs are all going to be in Japanese unless otherwise stated

Shipping is not included and will be calculated on a case-by-case basis

Overseas shipping is available but it is expensive coming from the United States depending on weight so please keep that in mind

I waited so long for Hakuouki newest game, Tenun, even though I can't understand Japanese, but I was still so excited because there are fans who translate it to English. However, I realized that the routes are not really that long. Actually, the routes are short, in my opinion, and I'm disappointed.

Hakuouki SSL - Sweet School Life

Well, this was interesting eeh..? Yes and no. It’s a six episode long comedy regarding one girl enrolling into an all boys school. Okay, that’s not unheard of, and there are times I laugh, so it is funny. But there some problems about the 5-6 minutes “recaps” in the beginning of every episode, it’s basically the same scene over and over and it takes too much time.. Especially when the episodes are 24 minutes long. And then there’s the fact that all of the main character boys like her. It’s too much, especially since two of her teachers are included on that list. I see the reasons why, being comedy, but it’s taken a bit far when I actually think “this isn’t entirely right” (and that takes quite a lot).

From this post! (I just don’t like reblogging lists of questions with all my answers attached, and I don’t wanna bother anyone by tagging for credit, but please do go check out the linked blog.)

1. Why/how did you decide to start playing Hakuōki?

I saw a post of KW/EB’s CGs (back in early 2016, long before it was localized—might even have been before Edo Blossoms was out in Japan) on @chibitorra’s blog and liked the post, so she was all excited that I knew what Hakuōki was. When she found out I’d just liked the post because of the art style, she showed me some more art and I fell in love and later bought Memories without knowing anything at all about it, including the fact that Hakuōki is historical fiction.

2. What routes and/or games have you played so far?

All routes, extra content, and DLC in:

Memories of the Shinsengumi (3DS)

Stories of the Shinsengumi (PS3)

Hakuōki Shinsengumi Kitan (iOS)

Kyoto Winds (PS Vita)

Edo Blossoms (PS Vita)

And as a bonus:

Warriors of the Shinsengumi (PSP)

3. What is your favorite character and route? They don’t have to be the same.

Favorite character… oof. Difficult question. Still the disgrace to all demon-kind that is Kazama, though it’s worth noting that my first impulse was to say Shiranui. But my favorite route is definitely Heisuke’s.

4. Is there a song that you associate with your fave?

Panic! at the Disco’s “Emperor’s New Clothes”, on account of that one not-quite-AMV I made, feat. HakuMyu!Kazama.

5. Who was the first route you played?

Hijikata’s, because Canon First, amirite? But it’s worth noting that because I went into it blind (and initially locked myself into a bad ending since I was playing on one file…), I actually ended up with the most affection with Saito at first. Thankfully, he and Hijikata were so close that I only had to load my last save to pick Hijikata’s option instead and put him in first place.

6. Did you go with the name Chizuru or did you pick another name? What was it?

At first, I used the name “Michiko” for no particular reason other than I like the name. Then I decided keeping “Chizuru” was better since she turned out to have a personality of her own and I wasn’t seeing myself in her situation. After that, for specific routes in Stories, I used “Chihiro” because that’s the name of my self-insert in that one dumb epic I can actually write now.

7. Is there a character that you just can’t get yourself to like? If so, who?

Iba Motherfucking Hachiro.

8. What characters (besides the player character) do you enjoy seeing interact the most?

Harada and Shiranui, for damn sure. I adore their rivalry-[b]romance and I wish there was a lot more of it. Other than that, Kazama and Sen for… fairly obvious reasons.

9. Is there a character that doesn’t currently have a route that you really want to see with one?

Nomura is the first that comes to mind, but really, I have mixed feelings. Given what they did with KW/EB, I no longer have a great deal of faith that Hakuōki as a franchise could handle more new routes in a balanced way, especially since there are so many reboots already.

10. Did you cry at any point during the game?

Who do you take me for, someone who isn’t 100% emotionally driven?

11. What was your favorite moment?

Wow, that’s open-ended… um… wow. How am I supposed to even choose?? There are so many different kinds of moments and so many favorites of each kind. But… out of everything, I think Kazama and Heisuke’s sass battle may rank the highest. That or Shiranui’s geisha route.

12. What is your favorite CG?

God, that’s a tall order too. I ran through my entire copious collection of CGs in search of whichever one spoke to me most and I think this one ranks highest:

13. Did you prefer the characters’ original outfits and hairstyles or their Western ones?

Hmm… it really depends on the character and, for that matter, the game. I’d have to say, overall, I’m a total sucker for the original/Stories Western wear, but the recolors and redesigns in KW/EB aren’t quite as good imo.

14. Thinking about your favorite character and route, do you think you could fall for and date that person in real life?

Uh… no, probably not. Kazama is a terrible person and I don’t want to be anywhere near him in any way, and Heisuke is more like a brother to me.

15. What is your opinion on Itou?

I think his presentation in the game is terrible and that he did, in fact, deserve to be assassinated.

16. If you found yourself at death’s door, would you drink the ochimizu and become a fury?

Yeah, probably. My reasoning would be the same as Heisuke’s, though—more out of fear than anything else—and my regrets would be comparable. Don’t really wanna think too far down that road…

17. Do you think the Ishida Powdered Medicine actually does anything?

Not knowing what’s in it, I can’t say for sure, but I think it’ll fix some ailments more than others. They probably exaggerate its healing capacities.

18. Do you want to see Sweet School Life or Reimeiroku localized? Would you buy them?

I’m actively interested in Reimeiroku and would buy that shit so fast you wouldn’t believe. But… as for SSL, the weird student/teacher dynamics prevent me from really wanting them to translate that one. I’d still buy it, though.

19. Did you watch the anime?

I did, all three seasons. But the Sekkaroku OVA is by far my favorite in so many ways.

20. What would you like to see in any future games?

I… don’t know. I don’t know if I even want any future games in the first place, given the number they did on KW/EB, retconning things that originally made sense into things that don’t make sense anymore. I think Hakuōki might have hit its peak, and I’m apprehensive about additional installments.

Last Update Of The Year

On the first day of Christmas, Hajime gave to me~ something, something, something something....

lol. i can’t write lyrics. my brain’s not wired for that kind of creativity.

Well, i hope you all enjoyed my tls this year.... and what I put out for the last few days since I thought it would be especially masochistic of me to try and have something prepared for 12 days like the 12 days of xmas (which i honestly don’t get or care to google.... and will probably never do again due to lack of not long content... and things that can be easily broken up)....since I won’t deny how tempting it was to run everything through machine translations lol. seriously. though it probably helped that i had been stocking up for this before december started.

Now that those 12 days are done though.... I’m am officially done posting my stuff.... aside for what I have queued for the 31st (blog post tl. will be deleting thanks to people not reading) , and i can say that, for sure, i’ve done way more than i anticipated since when i started. while im off i am going to do my best not to see anything Hakuoki in Chinese lol.... as doing so will significantly reduce the risk of me getting enticed by something.... though it probably doesn’t help that i’ve made it a habit to check bilibili quite often since drama cds translated into Chinese get posted there rather regularly [insert pitiful laughter here].....

On a final note, i’m glad that people have been enjoying my translations (i hit 160 followers! not sure if that’s good or not for the amount of time i’ve posted to tumlbr... also sorry but i don’t count people who have nothing on their pages/look like bots/those who never showed up on my activity log since im still not really familiar with tumblr’s way of doing things...though I’m not sorry about blocking people who can’t follow what i explicitly said i did not want reblogged since i did provide my reasoning for doing so... and i dare you to find a translator who appreciates their work being shared in a way they specifically said they did not want when doing TL for free).

anyway, a special thank you to those who have taken the time to tell me that they enjoy my stuff.... since I honestly do appreciate your thanks (really you have no idea since i do get motivation problems more often than not given the difficulties I have with Chinese as TLing for me is something that I find quite aggravating to do at times.... same with arranging music. for the record, the only part I find fun with the stuff im posting is singing lol since I grew up with musical theatre). I hope you all continue to support me next year.... when i include hakuouki spelling in more of my tags provided i know that it’s actually used lol (i was introduced via the games so ive been sticking to that spelling, also i confess that ive never watched the any of the anime since im not really an anime person having quit in 2009 so i just stuck to what i was used to, though since I saw the name spelled as hakuoki in ssl and other JP print media, i just kept to that xD).

anyway, here’s a pic of my stuffed bunny prototype #1 to keep you happy til new year’s eve lol....

Happy 2019 omaera!

I wish more Hakuouki for this year!!

So far we know there will be a new Hakumyu play next April but I hope we get more content. I'm still wishing they make a new version of the anime including all new characters or a Hakuouki SSL anime ... OR AT THE VERY LEAT TRANSLATE THE GAME FOR US, IDEA FACTORY!!
