Maid cafe adventure game Maid Cafe at Electric Street to be published by PLAYISM

PLAYISM will publish Adventurer’s Tavern-developed maid cafe adventure game Maid Cafe at Electric Street, the companies announced. It will be available for PC via Steam. It will launch in 2024.

About
Maid Cafe at Electric Street is a leisurely maid cafe adventure set in the otaku haven of Nipponbashi, Osaka.
The protagonist of our story quits his job at an extremely toxic workplace and finds himself at a run-down maid cafe tucked away in a quiet part of Nipponbashi. There, he meets the maid Shiro. One thing leads to another, and he eventually gets appointed as the temporary cafe manager and put in charge of the management of the maid cafe. As the new manager, his first task is to scout cute girls to work at the cafe. Time to explore Nipponbashi and all the otaku stuff it has to offer!

The Four Main Girls of Fuwa Fuwa
Shiro – “Um, please be the new manager of the cafe!” A maid who loves Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. A huge otaku for anime and video games, she talks really fast when she’s gushing about the things she loves, and often splurges on merch without thinking whenever she visits an anime shop. A little clumsy, but works hard every day to become the cute maid she’s always wanted to be.
Miyu – “Hey Mr. Manager, thanks a bunch for hanging out with me today~☆.” A game otaku and gyaru with a big appetite. Loves both eating and cooking, and apparently really enjoys serving her cooking to customers at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. Is actually Shiro’s friend on the online game Magic Angel, so they knew each other before actually meeting in real life.
Favna – “I am the Slayer of the False God, the Queen of the Kingdom of Darkness, the All-Seeing Oracle, the Guardian of the Dream of All Things—.” A mysterious girl dressed in gothic Lolita fashion. Speaks in riddles and demands the protagonist become her familiar. She sometimes accidentally drops the edgy act when she’s taken by surprise though, so maybe she’s just got a serious case of chuunibyou…?
Honoka – “Ya want a thrivin’ business? That there sounds like a job for our shrine!” A girl with a Kansaiben dialect who works as a shrine maiden at her family shrine. Practically in charge of the shrine, she is reliable and very good at handling money, and has a strong sense of responsibility to boot. On top of that, she’s also the only glasses girl at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe!
Support Your Maid Cafe Employees as the Manager!
As the cafe manager, it’s your job to allocate work to your maids. Make sure to give the right girl the right job! For example, Shiro is always enthusiastic to serve customers, and Miyu is great in the kitchen.
Of course, you can’t just sit there while they work. During opening hours, you’ll also have to make coffee and help out on the floor, so it’s not as easy as it sounds!
The Stunning Sights of Nipponbashi
In order to recreate the atmosphere of the real Nipponbashi, the game features several real stores you can find there, such as Surugaya, Sofmap, Dragon Star, Super Potato, and Karaoke Rainbow, among many others. Don’t forget to pay them a visit when you’re shopping or taking one of your maids on a date!
Collectable Gachapon
If you’ve been to the real Nipponbashi, you’ll know that there are gachapon machines all over the area. In this game, you can also try your hand at collecting your favorite gachapon series and experience that unique gacha thrill of not knowing what you’re getting. As you collect more gachapon, you can even bring them up in conversations with the girls. Keep cranking those machines until you’ve collected them all!

Brief Personality: Uru is a very loud and confident guy, He often gives off a sense of superiority but it’s mostly an act to protect himself, He tends to act like he doesn’t care about anyone or anyone’s opinions but in reality he does, He also tends to make himself out to be a dumb bimbo when in reality he’s actually quite smart. He’s also a bit of a slut. Good for him, he deserves it.
Brief Backstory:
Uru was abandoned by his birth parents on the side of the road when he was around 5 or 6, he was picked up pretty quickly by his first set of.. “adoptive parents”.. “The Oracles of the Sun” were a religious cult based in Okutama, he was adopted by the two Leaders of the cult and raised as their own. Uru was seen as divine or a gift from the gods, due to his “unusual” looking appearance (His purple eyes, and blond hair.) little did they know he wasn’t magical, just a normal kid who happened to have some abnormal traits.. like.. most kids in the Okutama area..
But nonetheless he was treated as otherworldly. The only person in the cult who really treated him the same was his best friend, Atsu. Atsu was born on the same day as Uru and also was an orphan.. though he wasn’t as lucky as Uru to have any set of parents..
Him and Atsu use to play all day together with their toys creating stories about people from the outside world.. But as you can Imagine Uru’s life was not all sunshine and rainbows, he dealt with allot of abuse by the hands of his “parents”.. The cult used almost every type of abuse imaginable as a tactic of control.
Eventually, however, this caught up with them, and the Asahara’s were arrested, Uru was separated from Atsu for a time and out with another family.
This family was.. not much better.. They were the type to only have foster kids for the money that came with it, they expected nothing but perfection from him. Everything about him was controlled to the minuscule detail.
At home, it was abuse, at middle school it was bullying, He felt like he could never escape just the aching feeling he always had.
He fell in love with a boy in middle school, but even that turned out to be a sexually abusive mess..
So, finally had enough of everyone treating him like shit when he got to high school. He changed his entire appearance, dying his hair, getting new clothes, He was completely unrecognizable from his former self.
His friends finally got him away from his abusive home and he was able to move in with his then boyfriend Otoko. Which he eventually married.

Maestro Hiccups Part 2
It was that bad...
Arriving to the Isle, the group could see the the Isle of Tims were no match for Balan's hiccups. The Tower of Tims had been twisted around and warped beyond compared, The Tims had gained extra body parts from an Elephant trunk to giraffe legs. Even the Clock of Happiness had been given a magic hiccup induced makeover. "This...isn't good." Kaylo said, as Balan hiccuped again, changing her angel like outfit to one of a gyaru girl "ああ、来い"She shouted, before she quickly covered her mouth.
The others looked at her. "Are you speaking Japanese?" Emma asked "それは私のせいではありません、私は停止することはできません !" Kaylo replied. Now, it wasn't out of the ordinary for her to say a FEW Japanese words (Sugoi, Kawaii, OmoShiroi, etc) but never did Kaylo speak in full blown Japanese sentences. "Um...Balan? Could you translate?" The blue haired girl asked "It appears that Kaylo is speaking Japanese, but for her she can't stop, if you please." He said.
"Balan Darling!!" Cried a familiar voice. Rebecca turned to see Lucy running towards them, however, instead of her usual dress and artist smock, now she had on a beautiful pink ballerina costume, complete with a tiara. "Hey Lucy! I didn't know you had an interest in Ballet" Mei said. Lucy rapidly shook her head "No No darling, I don't! This just magically appeared on me!" She explained. "I don't know why or how, but it just happened..." she said. "It's Balan's hiccups! They're causing his magic to go crazy!" Mei explained. "Oh! Then that might explain what happened to the others then." She deduced. The kids began to look worried "What do you mean Lucy?" Emma asked. "Maybe it's best if I just show you Darlings." Lucy said.
She led the kids, and the maestro over to Cass's world, where the other inhabitants currently were. "Hey Lucy, oh good, you brought Balan. Maybe he can fix this!" Fiona said, her cheerful voice not matching her current look. Leo had to take a double take when he saw the Diver donning a goth look, the only color that was actually seen in her all black wardrobe was dark red. "I hope so, I look so stupid..." Eie said, grumbling in his chicken suit.
'Wow...Lance wasn't kidding when he said the others were affected.' Trisha Jane thought, and she wasn't wrong. It looked as if the inhabitants had gone crazy in a costume store, aside from Lucy and Eis, Haoyu had on a rapper outfit, Iben donned a maid costume, Cal's eyes had turned orange, Cass's skin became tanned, Bruce had gained a big baby costume, Jose had donned a prince costume, and Attilio was now wearing a Sheep Onsie.
Mei then noticed that two of the inhabitants weren't present "Um, Where's Sana and Yuri?" She asked "Sana says that she feels too exposed and Yuri says that she doesn't want anyone to see her." Cal explained "Well, we need to see their effects too if we're gonna fix this." Trisha Jane countered. Leo looked inside of a nearby present box"Sana? Yuri? Ya'll back here?" He asked "Leo? Why are you talking like that?" Sana asked, her head poking out from the present. Leo could see that she was missing her signature headband, her hair had become longer and straighter, and she had diamond studs in her ears "It's a LOOOOOONG Story, but why Ya'll hidin in here?" He asked, the spurs in his boots clicking as he walked. "I...I don't wanna talk about it..." Yuri's voice said, as she hid inside the box "We all gotta show what happened if we're gonna get through this." Leo said, trying to convince them.
Sana sighed as she went back into the box. Leo pressed his ear against the box to hear Sana talking to Yuri "C'mon Sana, can't I stay in here?" "I know you're embarrassed, but so am I, but now that Balan is here, he can fix us." "But Sana, what if he laughs at me? "This is Balan we're talking about, he'd never laugh at you." "OK...fine, I'll get out of the box." A few moments later, Yuri jumped out of the box with a Aero Acrobat's cap tightly strapped around her head. When Sana came out, Leo saw that she was wearing a red cocktail dress with black opera gloves, and red stilettos.
Leo shook himselfout of his shock over Sana "OK, The gang's all here Bal, so now you can fix us...right?" Eis asked. Balan looked to the ground. "Erm, I'm afraid I can't. That is something that my power as of now won't grant" He said. Iben felt her eye twitch "WHAT. Did you say?" She asked in a tight voice. Emma tried to calm her down "What Balan means is that the hiccups hinder his power, he can't control what happens, which is why this is happening." She said. "So, if they're hiccups can't they be cured?" Yuri asked. That got Trisha Jane thinking, What if Balan's Hiccups CAN be cured. "Maybe..." The genius girl muttered.
"Maybe we can try some cures!" Haoyu suggested...just as Balan hiccuped again, and caused the entire group to be transported to the Isle above the Isle of Tims and Caused Cal (for some reason) to gain a Carmen Mirana dress and fruit hat. The Checkered King blushed. "Yeah...we better try to cure his hiccups..."

Summer 2017 Preview
I almost forgot to make this
1. NEW GAME!!: Z O I
2. Maid In Abyss: Are you ready for atmosphere? This mangaka writes some amazing stuff with some great worldbuilding, and although I'm not familiar with this work in particular, I don't see why it'd be any different.
3. Fate/Apocrypha: Been waiting for this adaptation for what feels like millenia and now they're finally making it. People are acting sad that it's not ufotable, but as good as ufotable's production values are, the UBW adaptation was just bad, so it's probably better that it's not. Besides, it's Fate, I'm sure they gave A-1 a gorillion dollars to work with.
4. Aho Girl: The manga is godlike, hopefully this is too. BANANA UMEE
5. Henkei Shoujo: It's a big mistake to think you're the only one who can turn into a car. I'm a car now too.
6. Mahoujin Guruguru: The original Mahoujin Guruguru is by all accounts a classic and this new adaptation looks like it's got both budget and heart in spades.
7. Tenshi no 3P!: It's been years and I'm still going through Ro-Kyu-Bu withdrawals, hopefully this show can fill the gaping Mokkan-shaped hole in my heart.
8. Kakegurui: This looks like Kaiji meets Prison School. If that's not all I need to say to make you hype, I don't know what I can do.
9. Hajimete no Gyaru: You know I love me some gyaru and man these look like some good gyaru. I can't imagine anyone more perfect to voice a lewd gyaru than Kitaeri.
10. Princess Principal: Depending on how grimdark they go with this it could be amazing or Galilei Donna levels of terrible. It really looks like my aesthetic, so I'm hoping it's the former.
11. Gamers!: It's the new thing by the guy who wrote Seitokai no Ichizon. Which I never read or watched, but is by all accounts a comedy mastapeece.
12. Netsuzou Trap -NTR-: But we already had the NTR anime with Kuzu no Honkai... But this one is a GAY NTR anime! Wait, Kuzu no Honkai had that too. Anyway, I hope I get to see these hot JKs kissing I guess.
13. Senkizesshou Symphogear AXZ: This show's third season was underwhelming for me and they killed off all of my favorite new characters, but Symphogear is still always pretty hype.
14. Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu he: It's an LN anime with some cute girls, I'm sure it'll be fine.
15. Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita.: Big busty otokonoko molests demure shy girl? Looks like the foot is on the other shoe now, Spiderman.
16. Knight's & Magic: Unfortunately that misplaced apostrophe is not a typo. This is going to be the latest show to turn me gay because the protagonist looks adorable and is voiced by Rieri.
17. Battle Girl High School: Social game anime are invariably terrible, so why am I even bothering to get excited for this one? Ayaneru baybee, that's why.
18. Action Heroine Cheer Fruits: Looks cute.
19. Jigoku Shoujo Yoi no Togi: So I never watched the third season, but I've always had a soft spot for Jigoku Shoujo. Can't resist that Mamiko voice. This show has always had self-contained stories so it's probably safe to just watch this series.
20. Hinaroji ~from Luck & Logic~: Luck & Logic was terrible, but I guess the card game is doing alright because now we're getting this. This show looks a lot cuter than the first anime, but I was excited for the original at first, too.
21. Isekai Shokudou: Oh no, it has isekai right there in the title, and it's not even Dungeon Meshi which is the fantasy food thing that's supposed to be good. Good cast though.
22. Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.: Oh no, it has isekai in the title. Of all the isekai tensei LNs this one honestly has possibly the stupidest possible premise and it's the one they decided to make into an anime. If we're lucky this will be the unintentional comedy mastapeece of the season.
23. Centaur no Nayami: Oh no.
24. Tsurezure Children: Looks like an extremely boring romance anime, but it's got Ayaneru.
25. Koi to Uso: This looks like a romantic melodrama and I might not even watch the first episode with how jam-packed this season is, but the Makino Yui character is really cute so I have to include it on this list anyway.
