Hello! I have written for Ben already and it can be read here and Joe’s can be read here, so let’s look at Rami and Gwil

Rami:

Though you find each other easy to talk to and soon you seem to know everything about Gwil and he knows everything about you. He says that he could recite your fast food order in his sleep!

Both of you are natural socialites always willing to go out and see life and people.

He’s always up for an adventure. Sometimes it is getting up early to see the sunrise from a certain place. Sometimes it’s even playing an old video game together.

Sebagai salah satu penggemar setia musik-musik Queen, rasanya saya terlampaui excited terhadap perilisan film Boheiman Rhapsody yang digarap rumah produksi 20th Century Fox ini. Atau bahkan mungkin masih banyak ‘saya’ lainya yang sama- sama berharap lebih tentang cerita dari film Boheiman Rapshody. Walaupun saya terlahir sebagai generasi Z, namun ketika melihat film ini seakan pikiran saya diseret paksa untuk berimajinasi liar tentang keadaan pada tahun 70-80an yang sarat akan nostalgia era lawas. Freddie Mercury sendiri merupakan sosok legenda dunia musik yang saya rasa pantas untuk disandingkan dengan beberapa tokoh musik seperti John Lennon, Curt Cobain dan Bob Marley.

Film dengan genre biografi ini sebenarnya bisa terbilang tidak terlalu komprehensif, karena tidak terlalu menyoroti spektrum kehidupan Mercury, namun lebih ke ambisi dan perkembangan karirnya.Bahkan, film ini mendapat beberapa kritikan yang mempermasalahkan bahwa pada film ini tidak menjelaskan tentang orientasi seksual si Mercury ini, sudah menjadi rahasia umum jika Mercury adalah seorang biseksual dan hal itu terbukti saat dia berada dalam sebuah hubungan jangka panjang dengan seorang pria. (Well, saya sih tidak mempermasalahkan hal itu, lagipula saya cowok, mana mungkin saya tertarik).

Secara umum menurut saya film ini membahas tentang awal terbentuknya Queen yang berlatar belakang di London pada tahun 70-an, diawali saat Mercury yang mempunyai nama asli Farrokh Bulsara mengganti namanya menjadi nama yang legendaris sampai sekarang ini: yak, Freddie Mercury. Awalnya Mercury merupakan pegawai yang bekerja di Bandara Heathrow, Inggris. Hingga pada akhirnya Mercury bertemu dengan Brian May seorang gitaris (Gwilym Lee) dan Roger Taylor seorang drummer (Ben Hardy) tergabung kedalam band caffe bernama Smile yang kelak menjadi cikal bakal terbentuknya Queen.

Bagi kamu yang kurang menyukai film yang ‘tidak banyak bumbu’, saya sarankan untuk tidak menonton film ini, kenapa? Karena di film ini banyak sekali adegan epic yang seakan membuat tubuh reflek untuk memberikan tepuk tangan dan disetiap scene dialog yang ucapkan oleh Mercury serta karakter-karekter dekatnya, seakan memberikan kamu sebuah ‘siraman rohani’ alias motivasi yang hebat. Ditambah selama 2,5 jam kedepan telinga kamu akan dimanjakan oleh lagu-lagu hits dari Queen seperti We Will Rock You, Love of My Life, sampai We Are The Champions. Pada awal cerita kamu akan dibuat takjub oleh suara Mercury, tapi kalian akan merinding jika melihat scene saat Queen melakukan konser dihadapan lautan manusia, so lit!

Seperti yang saya jelaskan diatas, film ini hanya berfokus pada perkembangan karir Mercury seorang. Sehingga menurut saya masih banyak hal-hal yang masih belum terpuaskan dan terkesan menggantung. Seperti hubungan percintaan dengan Mary Austin yang diperankan oleh Lucy Boyton hanya ditampilkan seadanya, padahal pada scene mereka cukup memberikan gambaran kepada kita bahwa cinta tak selalu berjalan secara manis (Cukup membuat rasa sesak didada untuk bagi kalian yang pernah merasakan). Selain itu, bagaimana proses Queen terbentuk setelah band Smile bubar dan bagaimana sang Mercury mendesain logo Queen yang katanya diambil dari setiap Shio personil Queen tidak dijelaskan secara detail.

Oke, mari kita lupakan sejenak sisi dari film ini yang saya rasa masih menggantung. Dibalik scene dramatik yang disajikan pada film Boheiman Rhapsody, sosok aktor Rami Malek merupakan sosok yang dipuji oleh para penggemar Queen. Hal ini bukanlah tanpa alasan, Rami Malek dianggap totalitas dalam memerankan memerankan karakter Freddie Mercury. Bahkan Rami menjalani pelatihan khusus agar dapat gesture tubuh sang Mercury yang flamboyan. Jika kalian penasaran dengan seberapa totalitas Rami Malek memerankan Mercury, coba deh bandingkan scene Live Aid versi Rami dengan cuplikan konser Live Aid yang asli pada tahun 1985 di YouTube, pasti kalian akan berfikir “Really dude? Apakah mereka berdua seorang saudara kembar?”. Namun tetap saja, tidak terpikirkan oleh saya betapa sulitnya memerankan tokoh seorang Mercury yang mempunyai kepribadian kontradiktif, dia (Mercury) adalah seorang yang percaya diri namun dilain sisi dia juga merupakan orang yang insecure terhadap dirinya sendiri. Cukup kondisi yang rumit bukan?

Menurut saya, klimaks dari film ini adalah ketika Queen menggelar konser Live Aid di Stadion Wembley, Inggris, pada 13 Juli 1985. Konser tersebut bertujuan untuk menggalang dana bagi korban kelaparan di Afrika. Yang membuat pikiran saya menjadi liar kembali adalah, bagaimana seorang Freddie Mercury dapat menghipnotis 70.000 penonton di Stadion Wembley dan 1,5 miliar penonton televisi pada 33 tahun yang lalu! Pada scene inilah film ini terasa sangat mendebarkan, bagaimana tidak, saat Freddie Mercury mulai memasuki panggung dan kamera menyoroti tubuh Mercury yang mulai memasuki panggung dari belakang, mengemas kesan dramatis pada adegan. Apalagi ketika Queen membawakan lagu-lagu hits mereka, atmosfir yang diciptakan seakan memanggil kamu untuk ikut bernyanyi dan melambaikan tangan mengikuti Mercury.

Penilaian terakhir saya, Boheiman Rhapsody sudah cukup mampu menggambarkan sosok Mercury yang digambarkan sebagai orang yang eksentrik, selain itu film ini mengubah pandangan saya bahwa sisi Mercury lebih menarik daripada musiknya. Walaupun cukup menunjukan sebuah ironi ketika gaya hidup seorang Mercury yang flamboyan serta ditambah orientasi seksual yang diidapnya mengakibatkan eskstensi ‘Sang Ratu’ secara perlahan-lahan surut. Dari alur cerita yang disajikan, maka tidak heran Film ini mampu mendapatkan rating 8.4/10 dari IMBD. Walaupun saya secara personal masih belum terpuaskan semuanya, namun saya masih dapat memaklumi hal tersebut. Karena Menurut saya untuk mengemas semua sisi kehidupan Mercury dan Queen, durasi sepanjang 2,5 jam memang tidaklah cukup. Setidaknya dari film tersebut kamu dapat menangkap bahwa perjalanan Queen menuju kesuksesan dan menciptakan sebuah mahakarya berbentuk lagu “Boheiman Rhapsody” tidaklah semulus cerita-cerita kesuksesan keluarga halilintar yang selalu viral di YouTube itu.

Oiya! Film ini mengandung beberapa adegan yang cukup vulgar. Jadi saya sarankan bagi kalian yang masih belum berumur 17+ tahun keatas agar ditahan dulu yaaaa.

Before the red carpet is unrolled, here is everything you need to know to be ready for one of music’s brightest nights. Who’s Hosting? Tracee Ellis Ross is returning as the show’s host for the second year in a row. And if last year’s fashion is anything to go by — she had a whopping 12 outfit changes — the audience is in for one stylish show. Will There Be Tributes? The AMAs will pay tribute to Aretha Franklin, died of pancreatic cancer at age 76 in August, and Queen. Gladys Knight, who sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at Franklin’s funeral, will lead a performance in honor of Franklin. Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans and musical director Rickey Minor will participate. “When I heard some of the initial ideas for the tribute, I knew without a doubt that this tribute will go down as one of the best in American music,” Sabrina Owens, Franklin’s niece and the executor of her estate, told the Associated Press.
