The Spanish guitar, also known as the classical guitar, is a beautiful and versatile instrument with several important parts. Understanding these components can provide insights into how the instrument produces its unique sound. Additionally, composing music for the Spanish guitar involves creativity, knowledge of musical theory, and an understanding of the instrument's capabilities. Here are the important parts of the Spanish guitar and some tips on composing for it:
Important Parts of the Spanish Guitar:
Body:
The body of the guitar is typically made of wood and is responsible for producing sound.

Neck:
The neck is the long, usually wooden, part of the guitar that connects the body to the headstock.
Fretted with metal strips, the neck determines the pitch of the notes played.
Fingerboard:
The fingerboard is the flat surface on the front side of the neck.
It is usually made of a dense wood like ebony or rosewood and contains the frets.
Frets:
Metal strips embedded in the fingerboard that divide it into segments.
Pressing the strings against different frets changes the pitch of the notes.
Strings:
Typically made of nylon or a combination of nylon and other materials.
Spanish guitars usually have six strings, each tuned to a specific pitch.
Headstock:
The headstock is located at the end of the neck and houses the tuning pegs.
Tuning pegs are used to adjust the tension of the strings and, consequently, their pitch.
Tuning Pegs:
The small, usually cylindrical pegs on the headstock that allow for tuning adjustments.

Ok, I have two alternatives, pick which one you like the best.
Reader get picked to tutor Eddie even though they have always been at each other's throat, she thinking he's a drama queen, pissed that the popular people doesn't like him and he thinks she's a stuck up bitch without humor.
So they go back and forth but maybe one day when she's having a bad day and Eddie says something and she starts crying he gets all "what, how, why? What did I do, please don't cry!"
Or, that he catches her reading a romance novel and outwardly she has always just read classics - books that are 'high education'
Request by @somethingvicked 🫶💞 went with the first option 💞
Warnings; Little bit of angst, meanish Eddie, fluff. Accidental kiss.
💌🎀💌🎀
"You've got to be kidding me?" you gawk at Miss O'Donnell who has called you back at the end of class. She's asked you to tutor someone and at first you were all for it.
That's until you found out it was Eddie Munson, Munson who is currently sitting at the back of the class with his feet up on the desk in front of him, he gives you a sarcastic little wave and you turn back to Miss O'Donnell and hope she comes to her senses.
"He needs a tutor if he wants to graduate. You're the best student in the class. It will look wonderful on your college applications that you tutored Mr Munson" shit there was really no getting out of this.
Reluctantly you turn to Eddie who already doesn't like you. In his honest opinion you seemed prissy and stuck up. The two of you spent half your time at each other's throats, it had been like that for so long.
Equally you couldn't stand Eddie either. He was loud, a show off and you were sure he was jealous of the popular people he claimed to hate.
How you would manage to tutor him for weeks on end was anyone's guess. One thing's for sure, you were dreading this.
"Meet me after school tomorrow and we can get started okay?" You say to him already grumpy at having to spend extra time with him. Eddie swings his legs off the desk and smirks, then bows.
"As you wish princess" ugh, you storm out but not before hearing Eddie's laughter.
Asshole.
🎀💌🎀💌
The first week of tutoring Eddie is as horrible as you expected. He's antagonistic, makes no effort and needles at your patience until it's paper thin.
"How can you be expected to graduate if you don't make an effort?" You snap as Eddie strums on his guitar.
"That old bat has it in for me, even when I try my best she still doesn't care" Eddie hisses back and you feel the beginnings of a headache come on.
"You just need to apply yourself better, if you want to graduate then you need to ace this Munson" he glares at you.
"Don't you think I know that? It's easy for you though isn't it princess, since your little miss perfect" the insult flares up your annoyance and you and Eddie devolve into your usual arguments.
"Don't you think I have better things to do then tutor you Munson? So do us both a favour and start paying attention, so we can go our separate ways sooner".
He huffs and places down his guitar with gentle care, grabs his notebook and
"Did you draw these?" you ask curious as you trace your fingers over the images on his notebook. He nods and looks at you like he's expecting you to give him shit.
"They are really good Munson, you could think about applying to an art course after graduation" Eddie scoffs and takes his notebook back.
"Yeah like anyone's going to take me with my grades" his tone is all annoyance and it pisses you off.
"I was only trying to compliment you, why do you have to be so touchy all the time" you look away from him stubbornly, he is silent for a few seconds and when he speaks again his voice is soft.
"I'm sorry, I'm not used to a lot of compliments from people" this softens you as well and you turn to face him and give him a small smile.
"Well you're really good" there's a faint tinge of pink to his cheeks when you say this. He nods and settles back down beside you.
"You know uh, you're pretty good with the whole writing thing, uh shit, you know what I mean" pleased and a little flustered at his compliment you clear your throat and mutter thank you, then get started with the book you and Eddie are reading for class.
🎀💌🎀💌
Today has been the worst day. You overslept, forgot to hand your essay in to your biology teacher, the rain soaked you completely as soon as you left your home and you've been verging on a cold ever since.
So the thought of having to tutor Munson again does not fill you with joy, in all honesty all you want is your bed and to sleep. You couldn't get sick, you had too much to do.
Of course from the moment you meet up with Eddie he's difficult. All because it's Friday and he has a Hellfire meeting.
"I have to set everything up princess, I don't have time to waste here with you" furious you round on him.
"You think that I want to be here? No. I'd rather be at home so sit down and let's get on with this so I don't have to sit with your annoying ass any longer than I have to"
"Well at least I'm not a stuck up bitch with no sense of humour and a permanent stick up my ass"
Eddie's words cut to the bone and you stiffen in response. Don't cry, don't cry you chant to yourself, but you can't help as the tears roll down your cheeks, Eddie's big brown eyes widen in shock as you begin to cry.
Humiliated, you're just about to leave when he steps in front of you. "Wait, what did I do?" The two of you exchanged insults on a daily basis and you had never cried before, Eddie begins to panic as your sobs continue.
"Please don't cry" he says, he hates seeing you cry. Your little whimper stabs at his aching heart and on instinct he reaches over to you and takes your hand, the gesture surprises you both and it dries up your tears.
"I'm sorry, I don't like seeing you cry, please stop" you sniff and wipe the remainder of the tears away, Eddie's hand is still holding yours and it's making you feel things that you never expected.
Eddie gently strokes your hand with his thumb, marvels at the soft skin and how your hand fits perfectly in his own.
Uh, shit. This was new. You smile at him, suddenly seeming shy. His heart skips a beat. Jesus h Christ.
"I didn't mean it" he stumbles over his words and you sigh sadly, peer at him with an expression that tugs at his heart.
"Yes you did" he shakes his head fervently and assured you that he didn't.
"I just snapped back without thinking, I'm sorry" he pleads with you and you hear the sincerity in his voice and calm down a bit.
"I'm sorry too. Today has been so shit, I'm tired and I feel like crap. I just want to sleep" Eddie immediately grabs his notebook and pencil and sits down, he looks to you patiently.
"Let's do half an hour and I'll cram as much as I can in my brain and then I'm going to drive you home okay?" relived you nod but still feel worried.
"Miss O'Donnell won't be happy" you tell him and he shrugs as if he doesn't care one bit.
"Leave the old dragon to me okay princess?" touched at his sweetness you take his hand and squeeze it as a thank you. Surprisingly the half hour passes by cordially and Eddie is still sweet.
Before you know it the half hour has ended and Eddie is true to his word and drives you home. You don't feel much better and your stomach is fluttering like crazy being so close to Eddie.
What the hell was happening? Was this some side effect of the flu? Eddie's big brown eyes meet yours, "Thanks for driving me home Eddie"
He shrugs like it's no big deal and on impulse you reach over to kiss his cheek. The only thing is he moves so you miss completely and end up pressing your lips against his.
His eyes widen and you pull away embarrassed, your heart is racing and your lips are tingling from the kiss. You stammer out an apology but Eddie waves it off, you race out the door and into your house.
All the while Eddie is touching his lips, his own heart is racing a mile a minute and all he can think about is that he really wants to kiss you again.

The Music Room
Another 10th Doctor x reader drabble. Requests are appreciated. You can also find this on my Ao3. Reader is gn and plays guitar. Enjoy!!
Tumblr media
You had always been the TARDIS's favourite companion. Every-so-often, the spaceship would make a whirring noise in your presence, and if the Doctor was around he would smile and tell you: "she says you're the best person I've ever brought on board". It always made you chuckle and stroke the control panel in an attempt to return the flattery, which made the Time Lord either sarcastically ask if you two wanted to be alone, or look at you quietly with a gleam in his eye before suddenly announcing your next adventure.
As if that wasn't enough to make you see that the TARDIS had a weak spot for you, she would always find ways of comforting you when something was wrong; before you could even sigh with exasperation, you'd be distracted from your troubles by a familiar smell of blackberry pie, or by your favourite song playing faintly on a radio somewhere, or by a book dropping next to you on the cold pavement from god-knows-where.
In a similar occasion, returning in the TARDIS after almost dying as usual, the ship's hallway lighting threw you off a bit. You were just trying to reach your room, only wanting to collapse on the bed, but it was almost as if she didn't want you to, leading you in a different direction. The blinking light bulbs guided you until reaching a door; it looked exactly the same as all the others, so at first you couldn't understand what made it so special that the TARDIS wanted you to find it. As soon as you saw what was inside, however, everything else slipped off your mind.
It was a room full of instruments. There was a huge piano between some marble columns, resting on a glass pedestal; a drum set occupied a nearby corner; and, shifting your vision, you were greeted by the biggest guitar and bass collection you had ever laid eyes on. Every last one of them looked like it had been taken straight out of your dreams and into that room.
Since then, you had found yourself visiting that paradise every time you had the chance. You already knew how to play a guitar, so you usually handled those, shifting between different models. There were brands you had heard of and brands you didn't recognise, and they came in every possible colour imaginable. You were fond of all of them, especially the more extravagant ones with unusual shapes.
The Doctor was aware of how you spent most of your time on the TARDIS, and didn't have anything against it. You wouldn't lock the door or anything, so everytime the Time Lord wanted to check up on you, you'd let him. Sometimes he'd linger in the room, sit down on the floor while you attempted to read a music sheet, or he would suggest you played something so he could sing it. The Doctor wasn't very fond of or very good at singing, but it gave him an excuse to stay with you a little longer, and that was enough for him. On very rare occasions, he would also ask you to tutor him. Of course, he had picked up many guitars in his 900+ years of life, and knew perfectly well how to play, but again, he wanted to spend time with you without admitting it was for no reason other than his fondness of you. Honestly, his hearts melted every time your fingers stroke those strings, making him helplessly realize that he couldn't get away, and that he didn't want to. Therefore, he obliged to his feelings, staying by your side as long as possible. And you were more than okay with it.
With time, your bond grew stronger, making you question your feelings again and again. The music room kept almost all of your attention on each other, so to avoid feeling helpless your ritual started to take place in complete silence. Aside from monosyllabic replies to monosyllabic questions, you and the Doctor didn't talk as much as before, but it went without acknowledging, growing on you both. That habit came to a halt when the TARDIS made the first move instead of either of her passengers, tired of the mutual pining and determined to fill the silence that had grown inside the room. After all, it was a music room. It wasn't meant to be quiet.
She made sure it didn't go silent ever again by doing the only thing she could, which was locking both of you in. As soon as you realized the door wouldn't open, it startled you.
"What if there's something wrong with the TARDIS, Doctor?" you worried, while he tried to get the door open with his sonic.
The alien sighed. "The only thing wrong here is her attitude," he mumbled, "she's doing this deliberately. Let us out!"
You were confused. "How do you know? Why would she do that?"
The Doctor stopped in his tracks, putting one index finger on your lips, shushing you, and the other on his own. The TARDIS was speaking to him. A few expressions made their way onto his face, substituting each other and, once the spaceship's whirrs quieted down, shifting into a frown. The first thing he did was thank the stars that you couldn't understand the TARDIS. The second thing he did was curse everything because you didn't understand the TARDIS and he had to tell you everything himself.
"What happened? What did she say?" you whispered, his finger still on your lips. He removed it quickly and took one good look at your unaware expression.
The Doctor acknowledged the knot in his stomach and looked away, unable to keep eye contact with you. You were gorgeous to him, too gorgeous to ignore. It would've made him stutter, and he hated stuttering.
"There may or may not be something you need to know" he started.
"About what?"
"About..." about how much I want to kiss you, the Doctor thought. "...about me."
You raised an eyebrow. "And what about the TARDIS?"
"She locked us in here because she's giving me no choice but to tell you."
"Tell me what?"
"The thing. About me. The thing you don't know."
"Yes, I know that. But what is it, then?"
It was one of the very rare times when the Doctor genuinely did not know what words to use, which was worrying considering how much the Doctor liked words. He got out of life threatening situations with words. He also got into those same life threatening situations with words. He liked words, he really did. He also liked you. Considering he liked both you and words, the realization of not knowing what words to use with you was like a slap on the cheek. Specifically, it was exactly like one of those slaps only mothers gave him. Specifically his companions' mothers. He remembered Martha Jones and her mother. He also remembered Donna, but not her mother, because it was Donna herself who slapped him a couple times. Maybe more that a couple. She would've probably slapped him now. "Tell them, you twat!" she would've shouted. It would have been very effective. It would've certainly got him to say something, anything, even "ouch", which would've been better than standing completely still like he was doing now. A slap, that's what he needed. "I'm a genius", he thought. Then he slapped himself.
"Doctor!" you exclaimed.
"Sorry," he apologized, "I needed that. Sorry."
You took his hands in yours. "Are you alright? Is it something bad? Do you have to tell me something bad?"
"No. Well, it depends."
You kept looking in his eyes, insistent and a bit curious.
The Doctor held his breath. "Look, the thing is I'm usually good with words. What I'm not good at is speeches. I hate speeches. Especially heat-felt speeches. I like listening to speeches, but I don't like when they come from my mouth, because before they get to my mouth they go through my brain, and my brain is too messy to actually figure out a speech without screwing it up and changing the subject too many times. And now I have to give you a speech."
You smiled, a bit amused. "And, in a few words, what is this speech about?"
"Uhm. Well. I can think of a couple things." The Doctor looked away.
"Such as?"
"Such as the fact that I want to kiss you. And go out with you."
You smiled, surprised. "On a date?"
"Yeah, sure. I just need to figure out the speech first."
"The speech to ask me out on a date?"
"Yes. I just need a second."
"Go right ahead. I'll wait."
He smiled. "Thanks."
The Doctor spent more than a second with his thinking face on. Then, he realized what he just said, and looked at you with his eyebrows raised and his lips parting without making a sound. You laughed, hugging him. It didn't take long to hug you back.
"I'll go on a date with you, Doctor" you said, kissing him on the cheek and causing him to blush. "However many dates you want."
"No speech needed?" he asked, smirking.
"No speech needed" you replied.

nct dream hyung line; small moments
just little moments with each member.
fluff, slight angst (mostly cute)
⋆.˚
Tumblr media
lee mark:
you two have been best friends since birth
he knows everything about you, and you know everything about him
he has a soft spot for you, confessed when you found him pacing at your doorstep one day with flowers
pretty quiet at school, sorta nerdy, but cute nerdy!
likes computers, plays basketball for fun
always sends you game pigeon as an excuse to develop conversation (even though you two are already dating)
plays guitar for you to help you fall asleep
you sing along with him sometimes and he always stares at you, smiling softly
works at his friends moms daycare and helps check the kids in and out
its late, 1 in the morning, and he calls you
you pickup, his voice is groggy
"can you come over?"
"of course."
you're there in an instant, you open the door, and you see him standing there in his pjs, looking lost
immediately you walk over, hug him tight, and he holds you, refusing to let go
"what's wrong?"
"i don't know what i'd do without you."
it's all he says, and it's all he needs to say.
"i love you too, mark."
Tumblr media
2. huang renjun:
he was your tutor, and hated you, actually.
well, before you two started dating. and he fell for you without realizing. and you made him confess because you were tired of him being stubborn.
you were social, he wasn't
that's really all there was to it
you two basically competed for teachers pet privileges
it didn't start out that way, but you two got competitive for no reason
obviously he was smarter than you
"can you just shut up and listen to me for once?"
"can you just man up and admit you have feelings for me?"
yep, that's how it went.
he blushed
stumbled over his words.
you kissed him
he fell even harder.
little bickering moments like this always reoccurred in your lives, and sometimes people were convinced you actually hated each other
one day the two of you hang out with some of your mutual friends
you leave the cafe after having an intense debate about whether or not mint chocolate chip ice cream is overrated or not, leaving your friends behind after you had to go
"honestly, it tastes like toothpaste."
"can you just agree with your girlfriend? that's all there is to it."
he holds your hand and kisses the back of it as the two of you walk back, and nods
"yes maam."
Tumblr media
3. lee jeno:
he was every girls dream
how did you manage to end up with someone like him?
by far the most popular guy at your school
everyone he looked at managed to become flustered
you were the sweet, yet quiet girl in the back
he still noticed you, every day he would look back at you without you noticing
one day, you were having a hard day
you just wanted to go home, wanted to sleep, wanted to forget about all the events that had happened prior which took a negative toll on your health
you see a piece of paper fall on your desk and the silhouette of jeno's shadow passes by
you look up and see him staring at you across the room
he nods
"open it." he mouths, his eye smile appears
you do so, and you immediately smile as you see what's inside
"turn that smile upside down!"
god, of course he had one chance and messed it up. it was so cliche, yet so jeno
and you didn't care that it was a bit on the cheesy side
you walk by him at the end of class
"i think you meant frown?" he gives you a look of confusion.
"wha- oh. oh shit."
popular jock, quiet girl. observer, and recipient.
sometimes though he needs help from you too
one night he stops by without even telling you
he walks through the door, hugs you, and pulls you into the living room
"nap time. please." he sounded so tired, so done.
you chuckle.
angel sent from above. that's what he was.
Tumblr media
4. lee haechan:
best friends older brother
shouldnt even be an option tbh
but haechan was haechan, his teasing made you blush, his small acts of care for you never went unnoticed
the three of you went to a cafe
your best friend ordered, then went to the restroom
you ordered your drink
he pushed you to the side
ordered his drink as well
paid for you like nothing happened
"haechan you really didn't have to-"
he puts a finger to his lips as his eyes twinkle, and he smiles gently at you
"i wanted to"
fast forward
you're official and he will not leave your side
always attached to you, in public he glares at any guy who stares at you for a millisecond too long
you walk into a clothing store and the worker smiles at you
"hi, do you need help finding anything?"
haechan pops out of nowhere and grabs your hand
"uh, no, i think we're good, thanks."
he pulls you away immediately
"what was that for??? he was just asking for help..." you whine
"nuh uh, no he wasn't. i know how guys work."
you chuckle. just go with it.
whatever makes him happy.

Just a little thing based off of this text post of mine.
Eddie had made a lot of bad decisions in his life. Stacked them up like blocks, one on top of the other. Poorly thought out choices, impulsive things, all building on top of one another. There was good, of course — moving in with Wayne, learning guitar, picking up that DnD book at the thrift store — but this, this, was not one of them.
He was really starting to regret everything that led him to this point. Hunched over books and flash cards at the Wheeler’s dining room table, Nancy trying to grill fact after fact into his brain. He regretted failing high school the first time around, and the second. He regretted taking notes that weren’t ‘good enough’ according to Nancy. He regretted mentioning his determination to pass the third time round. He regretted letting Steve get under his skin, looking at him with large, thinking eyes. Regretted listening when he said that he could ask Nancy to help him — she helped Steve after all. Regretted getting into his car and driving over to the Wheeler house on a Saturday afternoon.
Absently wonders if the fact that Steve and Nancy were fucking when she tutored him had anything to do with Steve’s positive view of her studying method. Because, Eddie thinks, doodling a skull into his notebook, she sucks. Glaring at him with all the fury of one of Wayne’s old army sergeants, lips pursed, nails tapping on the wooden table top. Like that is supposed to help. Is supposed to make him feel better about his failures.
He watches the motion of her fingers, nails painted a careful pale pink. Watches as she organises the piles of flashcards she made him write out — writing them himself, and not her doing it would help the material stick better in his brain, apparently. It was almost as if she had forgotten he was repeating senior year for the third time. In the same classes, with the same material, writing it down for the third year in a row. Writing it down wasn’t going to make it stick.
The doodles on the cards don’t help her glaring. The suns, and dragons, and swords, he’d scribbled over all the pages. It helped him think, having something to do with his hands while she lectured him. She didn’t see it that way. He was distracted. As if it was his fault the material was so fucking boring. Or the fact she tutored him with all the enthusiasm of a child being dragged out of their room by force. She didn’t have to say yes.
She sighs, a sharp, put-upon thing. Terse and to the point.
Eddie looked up at her, raising an eyebrow, bitten pen clutched tightly in his hand. She was pointedly looking at him, flash cards in her hands, not saying anything. Fuck, Eddie wasn’t a mind reader. What is he doing wrong now? Apart from everything, apparently.
His notes are bad, his handwriting is too messy, his flashcards are covered in doodles. He keeps staring off into space, humming and tapping and bouncing his feet. They’ve been at this for hours, and Eddie is about to lose his mind.
“What?” He says, gesturing with his hands, before throwing them down on the table. His rings hit the wood with a clunk. It’s satisfying, but he can swear he can see Nancy’s eye twitch at the sound.
“Nothing,” She says, shaking her head so her curls bounce. Tilting her gaze away from him, before looking back down at one of her textbooks. He can still see the purse of her lips, the tensing of her shoulders. “Finish your notes.”
“Doesn’t look like nothing,” Eddie says, feeling a sharper edge cut it’s way through his words. Tries to hold back the urge to dig his nails into the table and scratch. “What am I fucking up now?”
She huffs, looks up, puts the pile of his flashcards down, before looking over at him. “I just think this would go a lot better if you actually tried.”
Eddie inhales as soon as the words leave her mouth. Sharp and cutting. Air cool, but his blood is boiling. His whole body tenses, he stops his tapping and itching and fidgeting. Locks his eyes with hers and grinds his teeth.
“Excuse me?” Eddie says, grating and angry. Glaring over at Nancy with her perfectly permed hair and ironed blouse. With her perfect little family and her dad who earns six figures. With her good fucking grades and the entitlement to match. Who does she fucking think she is? “You think I’m not fucking trying?”
“Well,” She starts, a slight sing-song lilt to her voice, as she tilts her head again, looking down at Eddie’s scrawled notes and doodled flashcards. If she finishes that sentence with some bullshit like ‘if the shoe fits’ or ‘look at the evidence’ Eddie’s flipping the table.
“No.” He says, cutting her off before she can even think of finishing the sentence. Nancy glares at him, snapping her mouth shut. Not even bothering to hide her annoyance at being interrupted. Eddie doesn’t fucking care anymore. “You think I’d be here if I wasn’t trying? You think I wouldn’t have gone back to fucking high school two times, if I wasn’t trying?”
He’s gripping the edge of the table now, knuckles white with the force of it. He can feel his rings digging into his skin, pressed against the wooden table. Eddie’s sure he looks wild, frizzy hair in a halo around his head, eyes sharp and glaring, jaw clenched. Sure he looks like the kind of guy Mrs. Wheeler doesn’t want in her home. Doesn’t want associating with her perfect daughter. Fuck off. He should have said no. Tried to study by himself. Asked Jeff. Anything would be better than this.
Eddie’s fucking trying. He’s been holding his tongue whenever Nancy makes a passive aggressive, snippy comment. Asks her questions when she refuses to elaborate. Tries to hold back his fidgeting and tapping. Hasn’t even been snarking back whenever Nancy huffs and gets all annoyed when he doesn’t automatically know what she wants from him.
“You’re barely making a dent, Eddie,” She eventually says, holding her back straight. Looking down at him. “You’re not listening.”
“No, you’re not listening, Wheeler.” Eddie retorts, notebook abandoned in front of him. “I’m not good at school, I know this, but I’m trying so fucking hard to be better. To graduate. You just can’t get it through your head that I’m not you.”
“Of course you’re not-“ Nancy starts before Eddie cuts her off again. He’s on a roll now, the words tumbling out of his mouth.
“Your little flashcards, and your quizzes aren’t working; and Jesus Christ, you can’t get it through your permed head that maybe you should try something else?” Eddie spits.
“I’m just following the correct steps. They way we’re supposed to do it.” Nancy retorts, voice held carefully in her mouth.
“It’s not your way or the highway, Wheeler. In fact, your way fucking sucks.” He replies. “You’re a shit fucking teacher.”
He ignores her huff.
“Don’t quit your day job, I’m out of here.” Eddie says as he sweeps his notebooks and papers off of the table and into his backpack, not caring about the uncapped pens and the loose papers getting crumpled. Eddie’s not putting himself through this anymore. The second he has all of his things, he pushes away from the table, chair squeaking horribly against the floor. Nancy winces at the sound, lips held in a tight line, glaring at him.
Eddie pulls a smug face at her, before storming out of her house.
The second he’s outside he lets his face drop. Feels the sinking in his chest. Why don’t people understand that he wants to graduate? That he keeps coming back because he’s trying so fucking hard. He wants to make it. He wants to be a better man than his father.
Shoving his keys in the ignition, Eddie drowns his thoughts out with the blaring of his music that thunders out through the van’s stereo the second he starts it. He blinks back the tears that threaten to fall, clenches his shaking hands on the steering wheel, and peels off towards Forest Hills.

RE:V Lords and Mother Miranda with a reader that was in a band
Alcina Dimitrescu
When she figures out that one of her maids has a talent for playing piano, she approached you to ask where you learned.
When you tell her that you had been playing for a few years she offered you extra pay to play whenever she had guests over.
It wasn’t until Bela asked you to tutor her in the piano that Alcina figures out that your skills don’t just lay with piano playing but singing as well.
The curiosity burns inside of her and she asks if you were in a band before you came to work for her.
You hesitantly say yes.
When she hears your hesitation she wants to ask more but decided to let it go for now.
She seeks out the Duke and asks him if he can get any information on you and your band.
A month later and there are a few records delivered to the castle. Alcina sits in one of her arm chairs with a glass of wine as she listened to your band.
She is… surprised when she hears the satanic verses hidden within the music.
When she hears you sing though…
She is in awe
After all she too was in a band herself but that was many years ago.
Your band was more modern and even then it wasn’t liked due to its imagery.
She can’t help but wonder if the rumour of the band members being demons was real
Karl Heisenberg
When the man finds hears you talking with another factory worker about how you used to be the lead guitarist in a band he is instantly curious.
Being someone who only has been hearing old music on the radio for all the years he has been here, naturally he would want something new.
Heisenberg never usually goes to The Duke, much preferring to just get things himself.
So when he returns with a guitar and an amp he summons you to his office in the factory and demands (asks) you to play for him.
You’re confused by finding a guitar in your hands after all this time made you happy to preform even if it was for a scruffy guy like Heisenberg.
He had never heard rock music like that before.
From that moment on he wanted you to play music for him.
He didn’t care what your life was before the factory, he was just impressed that you could play.
Not so secretly he wanted to get some bigger amps and play your shredding outside of Miranda’s lab.
Donna Beneviento
Donna hates loud noises. It scares her and makes her want to crawl into a hole and hide away.
She didn’t like loud music either so when you casually mention you were in a band that has albums that were considered heavy metal, she was iffy.
Angie on the other hand was ecstatic. She wanted to hear you play all of the drum solos that you said you mastered over the course of a few months.
You didn’t want to scare Donna away, especially after working so hard to coax her out of her shell so you came up with an alternative.
You got some vinyl records from Duke and offered to quietly play them for Donna and Angie.
Don’t get Donna wrong.
She loves that you used to be in a band. She loves that’s you are still passionate about music now.
You got the vinyl from Duke and played it for the two.
Angie loved it, she jumped up and down excitedly as she listened to the record.
Donna was more calm with her praise.
She bobbed her head along approvingly and after the vinyl was over she told you that you played wonderfully but if you were to ever pick up drumming again then please don’t do it in the house.
Moreau Salvator
The first thing he knew about you is that you talked a lot about a type of fish.
He was confused on why you liked fish so much but maybe that was why you lived so close to the reservoir.
When he worked up the confidence to talk to you and ask why you liked fish so much you laughed.
He instantly felt bad that you were laughing at him before you reassured him that you weren’t.
You told him that you played an instrument called a Bass but you also liked fish too.
He wanted to know more about an instrument named after a fish and how you became such a good player.
When you told him that you used to play in a band he was excited and asked you to play for him.
You hesitantly told him that the Bass wasn’t really a main instrument even though it was just as important as other instruments.
He never thought that he would relate with an instrument but here he was.
He still wanted you to play for him so you agreed.
Even though the Bass was quiet he quickly grew to like it and you playing it for him.
He even asked for you to teach him one day even though he has webbed hands.
Mother Miranda.
You were just a normal villager when Mother Miranda stumbled upon you.
You wanted to bring colour to the village by playing music at the local pub.
She wanted to know why there seemed to be an extra perk in her villager’s steps.
So she followed a few villages in a disguise to make her look just like any other woman.
When she found you drawing a crowd while playing the guitar she was curious. She had never heard of any villager playing an instrument.
She couldn’t help but follow you to your humble cottage away from the rest of the village.
You had inherited the cottage from an old family friend who’s last wish was for the cottage to be lived in.
Mother Miranda watched you as you played and enjoyed the simple music you played.
When she approached you in a disguise she asked you how you became such a talented guitarist.
You sheepishly confessed that you were only a rhythm guitarist and not a lead.
She couldn’t see why you spoke with such hesitancy. You played well even if you weren’t a lead guitarist.
“I see no band here other than yourself. You are the lead guitarist in this village whether you like it or not”

hi! can i ask for more descriptions of the R in the poly!plasticsverse (i love the character descriptions btw, im just eager) like how tall are they and what music they listen to.
(also hi! is this the appropriate place to send my dumb little thoughts about them? because i know your requests are closed and i don’t wanna like overstep in any way. im also the person who submitted R getting up in the middle of the night to sleep [IT WAS SO GOOD AND SWEET AND CUTE, i love it so much] but i did not expect to get something written, and i felt bad because i didn’t know if that meant i made you feel like it was a request. if it did come off as a request, i am so sorry, i meant to be a gay little shit telling you how much it took over my brain to read poly!plastics)
HI YES OF COURSE YOU CAN SEND IN YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE POLY!PLASTICSVERSE! PLEASE DO!
Tumblr media
Y/N is what @yungpoetfics calls "polyjamorous".
She vibes to female rappers with Regina.
She dances to vintage music with Gretchen. (Her and Gretchen have slow danced to Elvis in the kitchen late at night.)
She tries to listen to Kpop with Karen but can't get into it. (She doesn't tell Karen that so she doesn't hurt her feelings.)
She goes all "Thug Life" with Shane. (They showed up to school one day dressed like 2005 John Cena while blasting Tupac. Regina burned those clothes after Y/N wore them.)
She introduced Shane to emo rap. He became obsessed with Lil Peep in two days. (He tried to get face tats but Y/N shut that shit down quickly."
"Lil Peep looks good with them because he's handsome, you would look like you just got out of jail. Do you know what they do to pretty boys like you in jail? They make them bottom bitches." "Maybe I should go to jail." "NO!"
Her and Aaron listen to all kinds of things (but when they are alone, they blast One Direction).
Her and Janis have a similar taste, so they vibe with each others music.
Damian tries to get her to listen to R&B and she likes it.....kind of.
Y/N is a pop punk/emo at heart.
Y/N and Regina will jam to Paramore and Evanescence but Y/N's favorite band is Simple Plan.
Y/N went to a Simple Plan concert when she was a kid and it was the greatest moment of her life.
They got a picture of them meeting Simple Plan and it's their greatest possession.
She listens to classical music with Cady when she tutors Y/N. When they hang out on what they call "mother and son time", they listen to country. (Conway Twitty, Garth Brooks, Reba, etc.)
Regina and Y/N recreated the "Still Into You" video (Regina singing, Y/N playing guitar. Ballons, bicycles indoors, the whole thing) and posted it to their IG on Valentines Day.
It's their song.
Emo band hcs:
Y/N: Simple Plan
Regina: Paramore
Karen: Panic! At the Disco
Gretchen: Dashboard Confessional
Cady: Secondhand Serenade
Aaron: Fall Out Boy
Shane: Green Day
Janis: Avril Lavigne
Damian: is confused
Now, let's talk about about our favorite stoner.
Y/N is 5'6", she's just shorter than Regina.
She's got a scar on her nose from when she was a kid and she was jumping on her parent's bed and tripped over her dad's foot and busted her face. (I'm totally not projecting). And a birthmark on her stomach that is lighter than the rest of her skin (so it looks like a scar). When they get intimate, its her girlfriends favorite spot to kiss.
(She also wrote a song called My Girl for the plastics and plays it when one or all of them are sad.)

Hurt People
This is just me giving an accurate depiction of what would most likely happen if Eddie Munson was real and went to high school with me. I’m sad tonight.
Warnings: hurt/no comfort, angst, insults, bullying
WC: 718
You don’t know how you didn’t see it coming. Maybe it’s because he’s Eddie, the boy—young man, really—thrust into the fringes of society because of his affinity for metal music and fantasy games. Maybe it’s because you’d assumed outcasts, loners, losers, looked out for one another. Or maybe you were just delusional, rose-colored glasses shielding you from what you couldn’t, wouldn’t see.
You and Eddie don’t have any classes together, with you electing to take honors classes and him struggling with introductory courses. You’d never judged him for it, never thought less of him because of it; some people’s talents lay outside of academia. Rumor has it that he’s a decent guitar player, though your parents’ strict rules forbid you from checking out a gig. Truly, you don’t know much about him except that he’s on his third round of senior year and, in your opinion, is the cutest guy at Hawkins High.
The opportunity to befriend him presents itself in the unassuming form of Honor Society volunteer hours. Mrs. O’Donnell needs someone to tutor Eddie in chemistry so she can get him the hell out of her class, and you eagerly offer to be his teacher. Quiet afternoons together in the library might lead to secrets whispered, kisses shared…
The first tutoring session is…fine. Eddie’s completely disinterested in the material, which is to be expected. You keep drawing his attention back to the lab report he’s supposed to be writing, trying to maintain your composure as your patience wears thin.
When he’s barely accomplished anything at the end of the hour, you tell him to meet you back in the study room tomorrow after school.
“You need to hand this in on time,” you say softly but firmly. “Don’t wanna lose points for late work.”
He grumbles as he grabs his tin lunchbox and carelessly shoves the lab report into his backpack, not even saying goodbye.
The next day, you muster up the courage to approach his lunch table. You’ve got your old chemistry study guides clenched in your fists; the idea is to offer them to him so he doesn’t have to reference his own scribbled notes for his upcoming quiz. Just a casual, “hey, I figured you could use these.” Yeah, that could work.
You’re ten feet away when you hear his boisterous laugh. “Oh, and get this,” he’s saying to his friends, “she wants me to study again with her today! Like yesterday wasn’t bad enough.”
“Dude,” one of his buddies chuckles, sympathetically shaking his head and clapping his hand on Eddie’s shoulder, “it’s just your luck that the one girl crushing on you happens to be the ugliest girl in the school.”
Your blood runs cold, nerves buzzing in anticipation of Eddie’s response. Surely he’ll tell the guy that he’s gone too far, that poking fun at your appearance is uncalled for.
But Eddie just gives him the finger and replies, “tell me about it. And now I gotta sit there while she makes heart-eyes at me, unless I wanna face O’Donnell’s wrath. Again.”
Tell me about it. Tell me about it. Tell me about it.
There’s no defending you, no sense of irritation with his friend’s statement. It’s pure, unfiltered agreement.
You’re the ugliest girl in school, and even Eddie Munson thinks so.
Tears blur your vision as you make a beeline out of the cafeteria, dumping your papers in the nearest trash can. You’re sorry you wasted your precious time digging them up. Humiliation seeps into your skin. It doesn’t matter if no one else heard him, because you did. And the information isn’t novel to you—you’re not Chrissy Cunningham or Nancy Wheeler, not by a longshot. No, you’re embarrassed because you’d deluded yourself into thinking that Eddie could see you in a way that others didn’t, in a way that you simply couldn’t.
A large part of you hoped that Eddie would see your status as a fellow freak and applaud you for it, welcome you into his group, take you under his wing. That seems like a pipe dream now.
It’s like that old cliche: hurt people hurt people. Maybe if you were bravier—bitchier, even—you’d hurt him back. But for now, you’re too tired from dragging around the burden of your existence.
Hurt will have to wait another day.

Chapter 1
Eddie’s POV
Eddie sat at the library table, hunched over the dinky rental laptop, old headset over one ear, the other pushed back. His brows were scrunched and mouth in a pout, chewing on the end of his pencil as he tried to figure out what was wrong with the audio he’d been listening to for the past 30 minutes. Steve gently tapped his hand, pulling the pencil out of his mouth and mumbling to Eddie.
“You’ll ruin your teeth.”
Eddie grumbled, pouting still. He hated mixing and sound design. Sure, he wrote songs for Corroded Coffin but… that was a whole other ballgame. Production classes were all business and tech and he could barely wrap his brain around all the pieces that went into it. He was sure to get gray hairs by the end of the semester, and he was only a sophomore.
He groaned, taking off the dated headphones and closing his laptop. He laid his head down on the table, hiding his face within his arms.
“I’m dropping out. Becoming a hermit,” He grumbled, his voice muffled against his elbow.
“You’re not dropping out. I can’t find another roommate in time,” Steve deadpanned, still focusing on his paperwork in front of him and his laptop.
Eddie continued grumbling, none of it very coherent due to the lack of sleep and his face being pressed into the library table.
“What’re we complaining about?,” Robin asked, throwing her backpack onto the floor by Eddie’s boots, settling down in the chair next to Steve. Eddie could tell by the strong smell radiating off of her that she had just finished her shift at the campus coffeeshop. She always smelled like roasted coffee beans and tea for hours after, almost like she bathed in grounds. “Because I could definitely use some complaining,” She joked, taking a sip on whatever free beverage she had brought from work.
“Eddie wants to drop out. The yoozh,” Steve replied, still focusing on his notes. He was taking an anatomy course for his sports medicine degree and trying to label a diagram on paper. Eddie could tell he was trying to complete all his easier work so that his energy could go into his Literature class. He was on the edge of flunking, and didn’t want to risk being benched from Basketball this season.
Robin began rummaging through her bag, looking for her Language and Society textbook. She pulled out the book, placing it on the table with a light thud before rubbing Eddie’s back briefly.
“Cheer up, Eds. At least you’re not failing,” She offered weakly. Robin was not the best at comforting others, but always tried. She pulled her hand away and opened her textbook, another light thud sounding against the table.
Eddie appreciated the effort but kept his head down while staying silent. Sure, he was passing…But at what cost? His professors constantly undermined his work and scolded him for not paying better attention. He didn’t fit in with most of the Music Production majors, who all seemed to only want to talk about how jazz was the sole genre worth listening to. His other classes like Composition and Performance had professors who gave him permanently pitying looks, as if they could sense his burnout and lack of enthusiasm. He didn’t even really practice on Sweetheart anymore, his beloved electric guitar. He still played shows with the band, and still enjoyed writing occasionally, but the spark was slowly fizzing out.
Eddie tuned out the sounds of the library, thinking about his slow crumbling career, trying to stop the spiral. He focused on the idea of how his private tutoring lessons for guitar were going really well… Well, as good as they could go for working with awkward preteens. Or how he definitely felt like the girl who stared at him and recently flirted with him in his American Government course was going to try to hook up with him at the Sigma Nu party he was dealing at this weekend. Eddie could feel his breathing slow, and his eyes got heavier with each sigh, his blinking getting slower. He could feel himself drifting off, wanting to stop himself, but eventually gave in, drifting off into sleep.
Tumblr media
Eddie was slowly awakened by someone gently shaking his shoulder, frantic whispers in his ear, and the scent of vanilla and coconut softly coming over his senses.
“Eddie…Eddie! You have class in 20 minutes!,” Nancy whispered frantically, her voice full of concern.
Eddie sat up quickly, jolted by the fear of entering class late. He didn’t need to take Beginners Guitar, but it was an easy A that made his GPA happy, which was good for his scholarship. Plus, it was the one class that didn’t drive him to pull out his hair. He scrambled to grab his backpack and acoustic guitar case, hugging Nancy and waving as he spoke so quickly his words jumbled together.
“Oh god, I gotta go, I’m late, also Nance, do you mind returning the laptop and headphones when you clock in, I owe you, bye guys!”
Eddie raced out the doors of the library, glad he chose to wear his hair in a messy bun today because otherwise he’d be running towards the music building blind. He allowed his long legs to take him, the route to the building built into his muscle memory.  When he finally reached the building and bound up the stairs towards the spacious classroom, he was cursing himself for not getting there earlier. It was only about two weeks into the semester, but Eddie had a particular spot he liked to sit in, and knew someone would be quick to snatch it.
Eddie entered through the door, quickly walking toward the semicircle of chairs, most people already in their seats and chatting, the lone spot left was next to an unfamiliar face. Eddie sighed, settling in the spot, unhappy with being so close to the front. He busied himself with taking out his acoustic guitar, Guthrie (named after Woody Guthrie, the anti-fascist folk singer who inspired Eddie’s sloppy written parody of his famous “This Machine Kills Fascists” on his guitar). Eddie ran his fingertips over the writing, letting his mind wander to the fond memory of its inception.
Eddie, ever the nerd, had painted on “This Machine Slays Dragons when he was just a gangly and pimple-faced middle schooler. The paint chipped and worn out, but added to the overall loving and worn look of the instrument.
It felt like just yesterday when he had just been introduced to the wonderful world of Dungeons and Dragons by his American History teacher, Mr. Medina, who invited Eddie to a Tabletop Roleplaying Club after seeing how hard it was for the boy to fit in. Eddie had just moved in with Uncle Wayne, and was the current talk of the town. He still remembered the whisperings of his dad’s addictions and sentencing of armed manslaughter. The giggles over rumors of his mother being an out of town prostitute. (She wasn’t, she had actually taken care of Eddie up until he was seven. But then she got severely ill and Eddie had been sent to his dad.) DnD had become Eddie’s safe haven. He threw himself into fantasy and music, ignoring the whispers.
He had had the guitar given to him that Christmas by Wayne, who noted the boy's interest in music. Eddie’s eyes must’ve been threatening to bubble over with tears, because he remembered Wayne’s gruff voice and his strong pat on his shoulder.
“Now don’t go making a big deal about it, boy. Found it in a yard sale. Figured it’d go to waste,” Wayne grumbled. Eddie had sniffled, knowing deep down it was a lie. Eddie had stared at the same guitar in the Pawn Shop window on the walk home from school for the past couple months. Eddie thanked Wayne, wiping away at misty eyes.
A few weeks later, while reading The Hobbit and sitting on the couch, Eddie heard Wayne humming along to an old record, recognizing the song as ‘Do-Re-Mi’, a Guthrie hit. That’s when the idea struck him. Eddie sat up quickly, running off to his room, bewildering Wayne and minutes later running in with the sloppy writing on the guitar, the paint still glossy and wet.
“Now, boy, what’d you-” Wayne began but cut himself off, noting the brunette's toothy grin and twinkling eyes. He let his eyes travel to the writing, and felt a smile tug at his lips. “Well I’ll be damned. Didn’t know I had my very own Young Guthrie living under my roof. It looks good, son,” Wayne said, ruffling Eddie’s short buzz cut.
“A Guthrie fan, huh?,” chimed in a feminine sounding voice next to him.
Eddie shook off the memory, turning over to look at the source.
You were a new face to him, never having seen you in class before. He wondered if you had missed two weeks of classes on purpose, or why you’d be here, seeing as he didn’t recognize you from the fairly tight knit group of students in the music department.
He opened his mouth to speak when the professor moved up to the front of the class. He turned away from you, towards the front. Guess he’d just ask you later.
Tumblr media
Good God, Eddie thought. I can’t believe my luck. The one day when I'm almost late to class, I sit next to the only person with an untuned guitar who’s tone deaf and doesn’t know the chords.
Everything you strummed made Eddie wince. And sure, it was a Beginner's Guitar course. But Jesus Christ, Eddie was sure he had heard better tunes from a trailer park stray dog.
You seemed very focused. Your eyebrows were furrowed, your tongue peeking out from between your lips as you struggled to keep up with the fingering on the fret. Eddie would’ve found it cute if his eardrums weren’t bleeding.
By the end of the class, you seemed thoroughly frustrated and annoyed. You were packing away your guitar and flexing and unflexing your fingers, clearly unused to the feeling of holding your hand in the same position for so long.
Eddie packed up slowly, thankful that his next class had been canceled so he had time to relax before his private lesson at the local music store with a little redhead preteen named Maddie. She was sweet, but also at times a bit impatient, so Eddie liked to have a bit of a break before dealing with her.
He noticed you were over by the professor, your things packed up but left in the seat next to him. You were speaking in hushed tones, your back to Eddie and your hand movements telling him that clearly, you were unhappy. He turned away to pretend to be rummaging through his mess of a backpack when he noticed the professor point over to him and you turn your head to look.
Damn it, Eddie thought. He knew that the professor knew he wasn’t actually a beginner and allowed him to stay in the course because he enjoyed Eddie’s willingness to assist those who were struggling in the class. But he didn’t exactly have the time or energy to fully teach someone unpaid.
By the time Eddie had decided to book it out the door with Guthrie all tucked away, you were quickly walking after him.
“Hey! Wait!,” You shouted, the noise echoing in the hallways of the building.
He cringed, but stopped in his tracks, slowly turning around.
“Look, I know I play like shit and my guitar is a very shitty rental, but I need to take this class in order to graduate early, because it’s my last non-major course, and all the other art electives are filled up. Professor Howard said you’re like the most talented student in the class and that his niece has you private tutor her at the music store, and I really really need an A in this class. So…Can you help me? Please?,” You breathlessly spilled out, huffing from having to chase after him.
Eddie’s lips turned down in a frown as he felt his impending headache come on and annoyance grow. He stared at his worn out boots, glaring at the floor. He had no clue little 10 year old Maddie Howard was linked to the same family tree as his professor, but should’ve figured given their resemblance and shared last name. He looked up to meet your eyes, opening his mouth to reject you, but was stopped when he saw your expression. Your eyes were cloudy with tears, your brows furrowed in worry and your expression pleading.
You were a pretty thing, and Eddie could see that now looking at you more closely. He bit his lip, weighing the idea in his head. He could help you and not be subjected to any more bleeding ears. Plus, he couldn’t stand the idea of those beautiful eyes overflowing with tears with him at fault.
He sighed, rubbing at the back of his neck.
“Alright. I’ll help you.”

A few Daring Charming HCs <3
Growing up, anytime he expressed interest in anything considered girly, his father would lecture him on how he needs to be more manly or whatever
For example, He did like rom-coms, and he would sometimes watch them with darling, but got a lecture and told to ‘spend his time on something more befitting of a man’ when he was caught
Since his father considered the guitar a manly instrument, He started learning to play when he was young to impress him
his dad was impressed. And that made daring happier than anything. That’s when he realized he would do anything to earn his fathers approval. So, he worked hard at it, changing things about himself to live up to his fathers standards.
he did, of course, succeed in this goal, but in the process took on many of his fathers flaws, such as his arrogance and sexist ideals
Now at eah, he’s slowly realizing that his father is capable of being in the wrong. He can embrace all the things he likes and still be a man. He can express his emotions and still be a man. He’s realizing his life should not revolve around earning his dads approval, that he needs to become his own person.
character development!!
anyway, he really showed his growth when he finally stood up to his dad for how he treats dexter, and defended darling for everything going on with her and apple.
why am I trying to write a whole character arc rn um anyways
With cerise and darling, he learned that women can be more than just “damsels in distress”.
with Lizzie and Dexter, he learned to put others ahead of himself.
now he can admit he hates the guitar. He loves romance movies, Katy perry, shopping, theatre and acting. he even likes to wear pink sometimes. hes still finding out what he likes and doesnt like without his fathers influence
he LOVES sweet drinks. if hes at a bar hes getting a daiquiri. if hes at a cafe its a frappuccino.
when hes getting drinks with lizzie, the waiter always assumes the fruity/sweet drink goes to lizzie
sparrow makes so much fun of him for it
he doesnt like cerise like that anymore, but they are great friends now. they mostly bond over sports and movies
he excels at history and literature, but has trouble in science and math. apple tutors him.
their tutoring sessions can be really awkward, though. they dont really know how to talk to each other normally.
he never really had a crush on her at any time, but he has always very much admired her for her hard work and intellect.
hes extremely chivalrous and polite. he always holds the door open for people, always offers his seat to someone if theyre all full, never looks at his phone during a date. things like that
hes always over-dressed, no matter the occasion
probably spends at least a third of his time in the gym flexing and taking pictures in the mirror
lets bfr teens in the eah world definitely make tiktok edits of him
daring is obsessed with them. theyre all over his fyp.
understands every one of briars daily mean girls references
he only auditioned for a play for the first time in order to spend more time with lizzie, who got dragged into playing a part. they both ended up loving it.
i am retconning the whole thing with duchess in the books. never happened.
the actual reason daring and lizzie broke up was because daring felt guilty about the bet with sparrow, so he confessed to her. which ended in lizzie yelling at him for half an hour and dumping him
they missed each other SO much. daring basically tried to apologize to her almost every day, and after some months lizzie decided to give him another chance. he absolutely did not waste that chance.
he plays fortnite with dexter and darling once a week
as a kid he used to climb trees with darling all the time. they got caught and lectured on it pretty often
has been to jail for going 50 over the speed limit before. dexter and darling had to bail him out
once dexter and darling tried to prank daring by filling his entire room with merch of himself
it completely backfired bc daring loved it and kept most of it where it was
hes definitely one of those boys who says "im him" about any ryan gosling character and says ryan reynolds is hot

I Wanna Dance with Somebody
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody I wanna feel the heat with somebody Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody With somebody who loves me
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson could still remember the first time he ever made you laugh. He would always describe it to you as his favorite sound in the entire world. He smiled to himself as he looked at you talking about something. He was definitely not paying attention while you scribbled away in your notebook and he sat resting against the headboard of his bed, strumming his guitar softly.
“Eddie?” you chuckled, looking up at him.
“Yes, princess?”
“Are you even listening to me?” you smirked.
“Of course, I am” he lied.
“Then, what did I say?” you asked, getting up and making your way towards him.
“That you… wanted to give me a kiss” he smiled at you. You chuckled and leaned in to kiss him.
“That’s not what I said” you told him when you pulled away.
“Worth a shot” he shrugged as he pulled you in for another kiss. “What were you saying, sweetheart?”
“I was asking if we could go get some ice cream before I have to go to my dance class?” you smiled. “We can say hi to Robin and Steve” you suggested.
“Of course we can, love” he smiled, giving you another peck on the lips.
You had been dating Eddie for a few months now, and if you were being honest, you had never been happier. The two of you were probably the two most different people in school, but you didn’t care. It started when you were assigned to be Eddie’s tutor. And one day, the two of you were pretty close, one thing led to another, and the two of you were kissing. And then, Eddie asked you out on a date. And the rest was history. Eddie always made you feel special. Even before the two of you started dating when you were just study partners and friends. He remembered little things about you and he noticed when you were having a bad day. He always tried to make you feel comfortable and he loved making you laugh. You fell for him before you could even know what was happening.
“Thanks, love” you smiled as you grabbed your ice cream from him. “Are you sure you can drive me to class? It’s not far from here, I can just walk-”
“Now, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I let my beautiful girlfriend walk by herself down the street?”
“It’s a only few blocks away, Eddie” you chuckled.
“That’s not the point, dear” he said, grabbing your free hand in his and bringing it up to his lips. You felt butterflies in your stomach when he did and he pulled you closer, not letting go of your hand.
“Hey, did I tell you what we’re doing today in class?” you asked before you started rambling on about ballet.
Eddie could listen to you talk all day. It was his favorite thing. The way that your face brightened up whenever you talked about something that you were passionate about was something he couldn’t describe. So he tried to pay attention to you. Because he always paid attention to you. But as you two walked through the mall he started glimpsing people looking in your direction. It wasn’t the first time he’d noticed.
He’d seen it around school. He saw the way that some girls looked at you as you avoided their table and went straight to the Hellfire table instead. They made some snarky comment or disgusted face, laughing about the whole thing. He noticed the way that some of the jocks would look at you when you would stop talking to them as soon as Eddie appeared and you ran over to hug him instead. The way they would always glare at him for it. As if he wasn’t worthy to have your attention.
And he could see it now. He could feel every person around staring at the two of you and making comments about it. He was used to people looking at him funny because of the way he dressed, how loud he was, and the music he listened to. But he hated that they would do the same thing to you. To judge you just for being with someone like him. He knew what people thought of him. He knew what they saw when they looked at him. He knew you were too good for him but you always made an amazing job at making him forget it or just not care at all.
But something was off today. The more you kept walking together, holding hands, the more people stared at you. He could see their shocked faces. He could hear them laugh or comment about it. When he looked back at you, he realized you were completely oblivious to all of this. You paid no attention to everyone around you, you just kept on talking to him about your excitement for your next class as you kept on eating your ice cream.
“Love?” you asked, snapping him out of his thoughts and he looked at you, smiling nervously. “Sorry, I was talking too much, wasn’t I?” you said, looking away. “You probably don’t want to hear about this-”
“No, love that’s not true” he insisted. “I love hearing you talk” he said.
“R-really? I know it’s kinda boring and… not at all your thing, I just-”
Eddie was about to cut you off with a kiss, but he suddenly shifted it to your head instead when he felt the eyes of a group of jocks not far from the two of you. Which didn’t go unnoticed by you.
“No, love, it’s not boring. I just spaced out” he told you.
“What were you thinking about?” you asked curiously.
“N-nothing, uh-” he stuttered, looking at the jocks who were glaring at him. “We should probably get going, it’s almost time for your class” he smiled.
“Oh… um, okay. Let me just go wash my hands first” you said, walking over to the bathroom.
Eddie smiled wearily at you as he sat down on a bench to wait for you. He took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down. Maybe he was overreacting. He knew what he had with you. He knew you loved him. You showed him in many ways.
“Dude, I told you she was dating that freak!” he heard someone on the other side of the bench.
He turned around and saw the jocks from earlier on the other side of the plant. He knew them from school. Of course, he did. They were the same ones who always taunted him and were always following you like sick puppies when you didn’t even give them the time of day.
“Dude, she can’t be!” he heard another one of them, Andy, say.
“We just saw them holding hands!” the first one, Chance, insisted.
“Maybe she lost some sort of bet” Andy laughed. “There’s no way that she’s voluntarily dating him!”
“Dude, Jason is going to flip when he finds out” the third one, Patrick, added.
“That he chose that loser over him? Yes, he is!” Chance laughed too.
“What do you think she even sees in him?” Patrick chuckled.
“Hey, love” you said, walking towards Eddie and making him jump a little, turning to you. “We still have some time, do you want to go to the record store? I think they have the new Metallica album you were waiting for” you smiled at him.
“Oh” he said, feeling his heart beating faster at the thought of you remember, but then he heard the loud laughter behind him and his heart shattered again. “That’s okay, sweetheart. I don’t want you to be late for your class” he told you.
“Um… sure” you smiled. Usually, Eddie loved going to the music shop with you and argue why your music choices were better than his, but you could tell something was off with him. “Is… everything okay?”
“Yeah” he insisted, with a nervous smile. “Let’s go” he said, stepping aside so you could go first instead of holding your hand.
You tried not to think any of it but when you got to Eddie’s van, he didn’t open the door for you. Like he usually did. And on the way to your class, he was unusually quiet, making you anxious. This is how it always started. He wouldn’t look at you, and you could see he was gripping the steering wheel tightly like he did whenever he was upset. So your head started spinning. When he pulled over in front of the ballet studio, he didn’t move. He usually got out of the car, opened the door for you, and walked you in. You felt your heart racing a little and the words came out before you could stop them.
“Are you breaking up with me?”
Eddie instantly turned around to look at you. He saw the tears in your eyes and it broke his heart.
“What? Sweetheart, no. Why would you think that?”
“I don’t know” you said, quietly. You looked down at your hands and a few tears escaped your eyes. “You have been acting strange today and… you didn’t want to hold my hand and…” you sighed. “Sorry, I’m being stupid” you told him, wiping away your tears.
“No, princess” he sighed, grabbing your hands and turning you to look at him. “I’m sorry” he said, wiping the remaining tears on your cheeks. “I’m the one who’s being stupid. I swear, this has nothing to do with you-”
“W-what’s going on?”
“Nothing you need to worry about, love. I promise” he smiled at you.
“Okay” you nodded slowly.
“Hey” he said, softly cupping your cheek. “I love you” he smiled, giving you a peck on the lips.
“I love you too” you said when you pulled away.
“I’ll come pick you up in an hour okay?” he said, grabbing his jacket and placing it over your shoulders.
“Okay” you said with a tight lip smile. Not the same bright smile you always had when you looked at him. You kissed his cheek and you stepped out of his van.

“Back already, Munson? If I didn’t know better, I said you’re starting to miss us” Steve smirked when Eddie came back to Scoops Ahoy.
“Shut up, don’t flatter yourself, Harrington. I’m here to talk to Buckley” he told him.
“I’m heartbroken” he chuckled as Robin came into view.
“What’s up, dingus?”
“I need your help!”
“Trouble with your lady?” Robin smirked, but it was dropped when she saw the desperate look on Eddie’s face.
“Why is she with me?”
“Excuse me?” Robin asked, confused.
“You heard me. Why is she with me? She could be with anyone she liked, why did she choose me?”
“You mean all those assholes who keep following her around and have a bet to see which one of them she would go out with?”
“They what?” both Steve and Eddie snapped at the same time.
“Yeah, Carver and his friends. You didn’t know?” Robin asked them. “They made a bet to see which one of them could get her to… um… well, you know…” she said.
“What the fuck? Does she know?” Steve asked.
“Yeah, she’s the one that told me about it” Robin shrugged. “She heard them one day at a party. That’s why she doesn’t hang out with them anymore” she explained.
“I’m gonna fucking kill them” Eddie said, feeling his blood boil.
“Eddie, where is this coming from? You’ve been with her for some time now and I know that you have told each other the ‘L’ word so… why are you suddenly questioning your relationship?” Robin asked confused.
“I don’t know, I’m being stupid” he sighed.
“Shocking” Steve smirked at him.
“Today just kind of made it real, you know? I know we are together in school and I see the way everyone looks at us, but today it was even more. I could hear people laughing and commenting on it, like ‘Oh, I can’t believe she’s with that freak!’ and I just… I don’t want her to go through what I go through just for being with me!”
“She doesn’t care about that-”
“Well, maybe she should! She’s too perfect for this world, and I’d hate to think that people are being mean to her for being with someone like me. She’s too good for me. She’s perfect in all her classes, people love her. I mean she's too hot for me!”
“That's true” Steve and Robin said at the same time, earning a glare from Eddie.
“Look, Eddie, at the end of the day, she wants to be with you! She told me she has never felt this way about anyone” Robin admitted.
“But I just don’t get why, Buckley! What does she even see in me?”
“Wow, you're even more of a dingus than Steve” Robin laughed.
“Hey!”
“Eddie, you wanna know why she likes you? Not only does she think you are hot and cute, which, personally I don't see it, no offense" she started. "Every boyfriend she had before you treated her like shit. Like her opinions didn't even matter. Like she was only part of the relationship to please him. They would go on and on about themselves and not even care about what she had to say. But you… you treat her like she's the most precious thing in the world. You always listen to her and you do whatever you can to cheer her up when she's upset. You remember the things she likes and she feels really special when you do. You’re always taking care of her and you make sure that she’s okay. She loves that you’re passionate about the things that you love. She loves that you’re who you are and don’t care what people say about it. She loves that you have a good heart and you show it for the people you care about and she knows she’s number one on your list. And you know the thing she loves most about you? You make her laugh” she explained.
“R-really?” Eddie said, feeling his cheeks blushing a little.
“Yeah, really” Robin said, before smacking him on the head. “Now, go fix whatever you did because you don’t want to prove her wrong, do you?”
“Y-yeah, no! I’m gonna fix this!” he said, excitedly. “Thanks, Buckley! Later, Harrington!”
“You know, you should be a motivational speaker” Steve told Robin.
“I know, dingus!” she smiled back.

You walked out of your class, hoping to find Eddie there already waiting for you. But since class had ended a bit early you were pretty sure you would have to wait for him a while. You didn’t really mind until you saw four familiar guys you wished would just leave you alone.
“Hey, babe, fancy meeting you here” Jason Carver and his friends walked closer to you.
“Um, hi Jason. H-hi guys” you smiled nervously. You didn’t particularly like them but you didn’t want to be rude. You just hoped Eddie would get here already.
“How was your class?” Andy smirked, looking at you up and down. You felt uncomfortable and you pulled Eddie’s jacket closed.
“Fine, thanks” you replied, looking both ways on the street to hope Eddie’s van was coming.
“Looking for someone?” Jason asked, stepping closer to you and blocking your view from the street.
“Yes, I’m waiting for my boyfriend” you said, hoping they would get the hint and leave you alone.
“So, it’s true?” Jason asked you.
“What?”
“You’re dating that freak?” he said, glaring at your jacket and you frowned at him.
“Don’t call him that” you said, trying to walk past him but he grabbed your arm and pulled you back.
“Why are you with someone like him? You should be with someone who knows how to please a woman” Jason smirked at you.
“Not that is any of your business, but Eddie is ten times the man you’ll ever aspire to be, Jason. If there is someone that knows how to please a woman, it’s him” you smirked back at him.
“I doubt that freak knows how to treat a girl like you” he insisted tightening the grip in your arm.
“Oh, you mean like you and your friends who treat girls like a piece of meat and make bets to see who can sleep with them first?”
“Please, get over yourself, nobody would want you anymore now that you are that freak’s slut-”
“Hey!” you felt relieved when you heard Eddie’s voice and the metal music blasting from his van. Jason and his friends turned around to see him, standing on the sidewalk, glaring at them. Eddie noticed and secretly loved when your upset expression changed once you looked at him. He could see the relief in your eyes. ‘You’re always taking care of her and you make sure that she’s okay.’ He made you feel safe. And he definitely took pride in that. You quickly freed yourself from Jason’s grasp and ran towards your boyfriend, throwing yourself happily into his arms. “You okay, princess?”
“Yes” you said, feeling completely content when he wrapped his arms around you. “Can we go home, please?”
“Of course, love” he smiled, kissing your forehead, before he led you to his van and open the door for you. Once he closed it, he turned to look at the four jocks, glaring at him not believing their eyes.
“You want something, freak?” Jason spat at him, trying to play it cool.
“Seems to me like you want something, Carver” Eddie said walking closer to him. “If you ever touch my girlfriend again, me and my satanic group will make sure that you and your stupid friends don’t ever bother, not just her, but any girl in school, got it?” he smirked as he walked away from them. Before he got into his car, he raised his hands to his head, as if they were horns and stuck his tongue out, spluttering at them, making you laugh inside the car. “Hi, princess” he smiled at you before giving you a small kiss.
“Hi, love” you smiled. “Are these for me?” you asked pointing at the flowers between the seats.
“Yeah, I’m sorry, that’s why I was late. There was a long line and-” you quickly cut him off, pulling him and giving him a passionate kiss.
“I love them” you smiled, once you pulled away. “Thank you” you said, picking them up.
“I wanted to apologize for… earlier” he said, placing his hand behind his neck. “I was being stupid and, I made you upset” he told you. “I just… I saw all these people looking at us weirdly and… laughing and…” he sighed. “I love you so much, and you are the closest thing to perfect for me and I just… I guess I got a bit scared that you would… realize that you’re too good for me, b-because you are! But I never wanted to make you upset and I guess, what I’m saying is that I’m really lucky to be with you, and I love you, and I have no idea what I did to get you or to deserve you but I’m really happy you love a dork like me and I want to make you as happy as you make me” he smiled bashfully at you.
“Eddie” you said, feeling tears in your eyes. “You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me” you confessed. “I love you so much. And I don’t want you to feel that I’m too good for you because you are also too good for me” you chuckled. “You make me feel so special and I want to do the same for you” you smiled.
“Trust me, princess. You really do” he smiled, pulling you for another kiss. “I… got something else for you, if you want it” he said, grabbing a small box and giving it to you.
“Are you proposing to me?” you mocked him.
“No” he rolled his eyes opening the box. “Here” he said, taking out a silver chain that held one of his rings. Not just one of his rings. His favorite ring.
“Eddie” you smiled brightly at him. “That’s- that’s your favorite one!”
“I want you to have it” he said, placing it on you. “Just so you always have a part of me with you” he smiled as you grabbed it with your hand, admiring how it hung on your neck.
“I love it” you smiled sweetly before pulling him in for another kiss.
“I’m glad you do” he said, kissing your temple. “You wanna get something to eat?”
“Yes, please, I’m starving” you said, as Eddie started the car.
He turned to look at you and couldn’t help but smile at how you looked at your new necklace and the flowers in your hands with the most enamored smile on your face. He did that. He made you this happy and he promised himself he would always do that.
“What?” you felt your cheeks burning when you looked at him.
“Nothing” he shrugged. “I love you” he smiled.
“I love you too” you said, kissing his cheek.

song rec: "little nocturne" by hiroshi takaki
Tumblr media
The little bell above the shop's wooden, yellow door jingles as Damien and I enter, and the smell of carpet and fresh paper fills my senses. The music shop is painted in a warm light, the wooden walls lined with an assortment of instruments ranging from guitars, drums, and a few brass, although very few. There's a few pianos tucked into corners, and shelves of lesson books and other arrangements are shoved into them. I've been here many times before, and the shop owner often gives me discounts with how frequently I visit. There's no one behind the register, so I assume whoever's working today is in the back.
"Mrs. Conaway?" I call out, eyes darting around the shop. From behind a shelf, a little head peeps out, revealing a frail woman in her late fifties. Her glasses make her eyes bubble, and her salt-n-pepper hair is tied up in a chaotic mess atop her head.
"Ah, good morning, you two!" Mrs. Conaway smiles goofily, waddling out from behind the wooden shelf. "I assume you're here for your oboe?"
"That 'n some slide grease. I'm running a bit low," I chuckle dryly, walking with the elderly woman to the register. To the left of the register is a glass case showing off a variety of wind instruments. There's flutes, a few piccolos, a trumpet mouthpieces, a single trombone, and finally...
The F. Lorée classic oboe.
My dream instrument since beginning junior high. A professional level oboe going for over three-thousand dollars, the Lorée company has been making them for almost a century, known famously for their beautifully crafted instruments. I had been saving up for one post-high school since my freshman year.
"Y'think daddy's money can afford that?" Damien nudges me with a joking smile, referring to the extra cash I'll be getting from tutoring the girls. I roll my eyes.
"Maybe," I chuckle. Mrs. Conaway pulls out a beat-up looking case from behind the register as Damien and I banter, setting it on top of the instrument display case to show it to me.
"It's an intermediate brand. I hope it isn't too bad," she gives me a sheepish grin.
"Don't worry!" I mirror her smile, popping open the case to give the double reed instrument a look. It's a little dirty and the corks look drier than a desert, but it was nothing I couldn't fix. "It's perfect, Mrs. Conaway. Thank you so much," I nod at her, clicking the oboe case shut carefully. She clasps her hands together happily.
"I'm so glad to hear that! And remember, you don't have'ta pay me for it. It's the least I can do for my sweetest customer!" The elderly woman says giddily.
"Agh, even so... I really appreciate it, Mrs. Conaway. I'll return it as soon as I get a new one," I promise her. She pushes the case toward me, eager for me to get on with playing it and also for me to leave so she can keep working. Damien and I walk out of the shop, stepping out into the sun that shun down onto the busy town centre.
"So...?" Damien looks at me with a wicked smirk. "We got the car for the day... are ya thinkin' what I'm thinkin', thumper?" He swings his arm over my shoulders. I eye him with a quirked brow. As if reading each other's mind, we shout in unison,
"ICE CREAM 'N JOYRIDES!"
Our cheer echoes down the street, but we giggle as if there's nothing wrong in the world. We jog over to the Impala, hopping in quickly before driving off to the best restaurant in the world—Hattie's. A local favourite, and everyone here swears that it sells the best shakes you could possibly imagine. Mrs. Hattie L. Parker started the old shoppe when Everglade was first founded in 1957 at the age of 22, and it's been a staple ever since in this old town. I can't name a single person here that doesn't frequent the place.
We pull into an empty spot with "Come On Eileen" playing lowly from the radio. As soon as we park, we throw ourselves out of the car, racing each other to the door of the diner while giggling all the way. I decide to bring my hand-me-down oboe with me, wanting to get some repair as soon as possible.
"You're cheating!" Damien yelps when he sees me get to the glass door faster than him.
"Nuh uh?! It's not my fault I'm just a lil closer to the door compared to you!" I cackle, pushing the door open with my back as I hug my case to my chest. My older brother gives me a rough pat on the head, jostling my hair around with his palm. I grunt at the affection, trying to pull him off of me as we stumbled into the bustling diner. It's almost packed, most of the booths and counter seats taken up. As Damien and I look around for a seat, I lock eyes with him.
In a booth is Leon Scott Kennedy, sitting with three other people. Next to him is the famous Ada Wong, known across the school for being the one of best lacrosse players in the county, as well as my graduate year's class president. I can't see the other two he's sitting with from where I'm standing, but I'm assuming it's someone from her little posse that's been at her feet since freshman year.
I feel myself shrink as I make eye contact with him, unconsciously drifting to stand behind my brother. Leon's got the same glare I saw him give me before Damien and I left to get my new oboe, which was clutched tightly to my front. I notice he changed his clothes, sporting a deep blue sweater with a white collared shirt beneath it.
Damien notices how quiet I'm being and follows my gaze.
"You good, thump- Oh..." The boy sneers at the sight of the ace. He squeezes my shoulder softly. "Ignore 'em, sis. Let's sit over here," he grunts, spinning me toward an empty booth at the opposite end of the diner. We settle into the red, leather seats, immediately ordering a sodapop and a banana-split to share between us. I keep my head down, eyes trained on the oboe case on the table.
Carefully, I open it to reveal the old thing. Rummaging through the case, I pull out a tube of cork grease and get to work. I'm careful as I apply the lubricant onto the dry corks, trying not to put too much on to avoid them get soft and even more flakey. All the while, I can feel the stares on me.
I look up hesitantly, eyes immediately settling on Leon. His arm is wrapped around Ada Wong's shoulder, fingers playing with the threads of her black cardigan. My fingers tighten around the lower piece of my oboe, an odd feeling in my chest as I watch the blonde be so casual with someone I assume he's only known for a day. Suddenly, he looks up at me, seeming just as confused as I am. I quickly look back down at the parts in my case, praying he didn't catch me staring.
"Can't believe he's hangin' out with Wong and her best friend," Damien huffs, fiddling with the turkey feather for my oboe. I remember that he and Ada had a thing going on before the summer. He never told me what happened—all I knew is that one night, he came home crying, and he sobbed about how much he loved her. I never brought it up since then, but tt finally occurs to me that Leon was most likely on a double date of sorts, and the ache in my chest worsens. Ada isn't really seen with boys outside of school unless she had some romantic interest in them...
"Are you really surprised, though? I mean, they're both heartless assholes with no personality," I sigh, setting the lower piece back into the case. I snag the feather out of Damien's fingers, stuffing it into velvet-lined container before closing it.
"Heh, I guess you're right," he chuckles.
Our order finally arrives, and I set my oboe in the booth next to me, making sure it won't fall again. Immediately, Damien tears apart the sweet treat we got, and I fear he won't spare me a bite. I laugh softly at his messy eating, the neapolitan ice cream smearing across his lips as he chowed down.
From the corner of my eye, I see my tormentor staring at me from his seat, and he's got this look in his eyes I can't quite place. His plump lips are pursed a little, and there's a small crease between his brows. I can't tell if he's looking here to judge me or if he's trying to brew up new ways to harass me. My heart pounds and I can feel a thin layer of sweat form at the top of my neck as I stress.
"Do you want to leave, (Y/n)?" My brother asks, looking up from the bowl of ice cream. His voice is stern, and I can tell he isn't playing around.
"Uhm..." I bite the inside of my cheek, thinking of what to do. "I... I think I'll be okay," I swallow dryly, reaching out for the glass of sodapop to take a sip. Damien seems unconvinced with the way he's narrowing his eyes at me.
"M'kay..." he grunts, going back to eating the sundae. I take a few nibbles as well, trying my best to ignore the way Leon watched me from his seat across the room.
He's on a date with someone... Why is he so focused on me?
Thankfully, Damien finishes off the ice cream quickly. With the way he's so jittery, I can tell he wants to leave, too. We stack our plates close to the end of the table so it's easier to clean up before we head to the register, wanting to pay and leave as soon as possible. I carry my oboe case behind my back, swaying back and forth on my heels as my brother pays for our treat. When we turn around to leave, we're face to face with the people we wanted to avoid.
"Dami, it's good to see you again. Couldn't you bother to say hello?" The girl in red smiled up at my big brother. Finally, I have a good look of the group.
Ada's dressed in her classic colours, the scarlet sweater-dress tight against her bosom that's accentuated by the cross hanging by her neck. Her ebony cardigan is kept over her arm as she stands with her hip popped out a bit, making her hourglass figure apparent.
Leon's sweater-collared combo was paired with mocha coloured dress pants, the sleeves of his shirts rolled up to his elbows to show off his muscle.
The other couple accompanying them, I gave no attention to, instead tugging at Damien's shirt in attempt to ground him
"That's rich coming from someone who didn't have the balls to say goodbye to me," my brother says through gritted teeth, his eye twitching lightly as his knuckles turned white. Ada gave him a hearty laugh.
"Oh, Dami, that was so long ago. I'm surprised you even remembered with how drunk you were," she chuckles, wiping a tear from her eye. This comment concerned me. My brother was drinking...?
"Don't fuckin' call me that," he seethed. I clutch the fabric of his t-shirt, pulling on it lightly.
"Damien, let's just go," I plead, not wanting the situation to get worse.
"You got a new clarinet, huh?" Leon states, pointing at the case I held at my side. I look at him, terrified that he'll snatch it out of my hands and shatter it just like the last. I hide it behind my back cautiously.
"Y-yes..." I squint at the blonde man. "Now, if you'll just... excuse us," I coughed, dragging Damien by his shirt as I tugged him behind me, squeezing between Ada and Leon to get through.
My side bumps into Leon's, and something within me feels... uneasy. The contact was quick, but I felt like I was burning up when I felt the skin of his arm graze against my own. I mumble a quick "excuse me" as we pass the two brats, my oboe case clutched tightly in my hands. Damien and I walk out the door, and I try my best not to look back.
I can feel Leon's piercing stare on the back of my head, following me as if I was some sort of prey.
What does he want from me?
"Are you okay, Dami?" I worry, my hand rubbing his arm comfortingly the moment we're out of the diner. His eyes are clearly droopy, and I just know he wants to go home now when he flashes a tired smile.
"M'okay, sis... Just... Didn't think she'd talk to me, y'know?" He chortles humourlessly. I hum in understanding, helping him to the driver side of the Impala.
"Let's go home, Dami," I say, sad that our day of fun was so quickly soured.
There was one thing on my mind on the drive home. Thoughts of Leon's odd behaviour threw me into a dizzy. Why does he hate me so much that he's willing to glare at me across the room? Why does he even care?
High schoolers are so weird...
Tumblr media
is he actually dating ada? hmm... guess we'll find out :p pt.4

KimChay still happens despite Kim sleeping with Porsche. As much as they care for each other, there are no deeper feelings. This isn’t a forever relationship. It’s sex in exchange for protection that morphs into fond companionship, but that’s as far as it ever gets.
Chay is ~14/15 when Kim joins the family. Kim is ~18. This means that while Kim is acting out being rebellious and thinking he’s more mature than he is, Chay falls into the Annoying Little BrotherTM category. And he really… doesn’t leave that mental image Kim has of him until they’re both much older, and Kim realizes oh no, he’s hot.
But until then! Some canon KimChay things happen, like the guitar tutoring! Kim doesn’t get the chance to become Wik in this AU, but he still has his love of music. It’s his primary coping mechanism for *gestures at everything*. He nearly cries when Porsche rewards him with a guitar a few months into their arrangement. Then at some point Chay catches him playing, likes what he hears, and pesters Kim into teaching him until he finally gives in.
Chay is also a naughty little gremlin with a cute crush on his brother’s sex slave, and maybe kind of wondering if they’re like. Exclusive? Or if it’s more of a “Kim sold himself to the family, for anyone to use” kind of deal? And if maybe he has a chance? (He doesn’t. He’s too young, he’s been firmly little-brothered by Kim, and Porsche would kill him for trying. But a guy can dream, okay? It doesn’t help that he’s seen Kim in compromising positions way too many times not to fantasize about being the one to put him in those positions.)
Anyway. There’s the context for this scene.
-
Chay is still turning his guitar while Kim idly strums on his own. He has a little monitor sitting on the table in front of them, flashing red and green lights to let him know when he gets it right. Kim hasn’t managed to teach him how to tune by ear yet. He hates the monitor; Kim vows to break Chay of that filthy habit eventually.
“Who taught you how to play guitar, P’Kim?” Chay asks, in that sweet voice of his. He’s staring down at his guitar with a little furrow between his brows, carefully twisting the frets in miniscule increments. Kim’s getting frustrated just listening to it. He wants to tell the boy he’s at least two full turns off, and the glacial pace he’s taking is excruciating.
“My brother,” Kim answers, and doesn’t say anything more, even when Chay gives a curious little hum. Of course, Chay is never one to exist in silence.
“Do you ever miss him?”
Only when he let himself.
“No.”
“Aow, really?” Kim nods once, tightening his grip on the neck of his guitar. He isn’t strumming anymore. “I don’t know what I would do if I left hia. I think I’d miss him so much I would die.”
“My brother and I weren’t close.”
“You came here because of him, right? To protect him? You wouldn’t do that if you didn’t love him.”
“You’re right, Kinn is the reason I’m here. Because of his stupid decisions. I don’t want to be here.” Kim fights to keep his voice even. He isn’t going to snap at Chay. He isn’t going to encourage this line of conversation, either.
Chay stopped trying to tune his guitar.
“Do you hate it here?”
Does he?
Kim isn’t mistreated. Porsche has never once forced himself on him, and didn’t punish Kim when he killed three guards for attempting to. Porsche has held up his end of the bargain to shelter Kim from his father’s wrath. He never leaves the compound, but not because it’s forbidden; he has more freedom than he expected to, when he first offered himself to Porsche’s mercy.
“No,” Kim eventually answers. He takes Chay’s guitar from him and begins to tune it.
“Do you want to leave?”
“I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
“But if you did, would you?”
“Maybe. I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it.” Kim doesn’t see the point of perseverating over something that won’t happen. These are his circumstances. They aren’t going to change. It doesn’t matter what he would do if things were different, because they aren’t.
Chay takes back his guitar, now tuned, and stares down at his hands on the strings.
“I’m sorry, P’Kim,” he says, standing. “That sounds like a very sad way to live.”
Kim watches Chay leave without another word. He feels like he should call the boy back. He doesn’t.

modern au where the whole school thinks basketball team captain steve and volleyball team captain nancy are dating bc they're always beside each other and talking so lowly but the truth is, the two captains are crushing so hard on school band guitarist edde and marching band trumpeter robin, respectively.
steve and nancy talks to each other to exchange information bc the marching band usually plays near the basketball gym and steve's best friend is robin, while nancy was eddie's tutor last year so they got close.
"robin needs help for science and i said i know someone who's good at it," steve says to nancy as soon as she put her duffel bag down. their training time was just finished and the volleyball team is entering the gym.
"tell her i'm free everyday," nancy replies, giddily.
steve scoffs. "tell that to your packed training sched."
"what's the use of being the team captain if i can't use my position for my own love life?" nancy grins.
steve laughs. "i'll be praying for your girls strength then.
robin and nancy worked out some plan for their study sessions. not everyday even if nancy wanted it to be. it was three times a week on the days that the volleyball team finishes their training early.
nancy also attended some of the marching band's practice and made sure that robin knows she's watching her. she asks questions to robin about music and her overall interests and nancy is graced by robin's endearing ramble with bright eyes and wide smiles.
"i know the time and venue. eddie said it'll be at the hideout this thursday at either 1 or 2am because their usual crowd comes at those hours," nancy informs steve while he locks the gym close.
"you could have just texted me instead of waiting, nance."
"i was with robin. she's the one waiting for you. so, are you going?"
"are you really asking that? of course i'll go watch eddie be so fucking sexy while he plays the guitar in a muscle tee, nancy." steve scoffs.
if she can magically arrange their training schedule to fit robin's free time, steve can also adjust his team's schedule so he can watch eddie play while not being late to school the next day.
steve never felt so courageous that night as he walked towards eddie and his band to compliment how he sounded so good while singing and also how he looked so hot in the muscle tee.

But It’s Home To Me
Tumblr media
Summary: Eddie was meant to be the next metal god but things didn’t work out and he ended up a mechanic stuck in Hawkins, but with you by his side, that might not be such a bad thing.
This was inspired by a line from one of my favourite songs, Tomorrow by Shakey Graves, that just screamed Older Eddie to me:
Well, you love this heart and this six string, girl, oh
But they've been outta tune yeah for some time.
Parings: Older Eddie Munson x f reader
Warnings: none.
The dull ache that had started in his left shoulder as he drank his morning coffee had steadily traveled its way down into his lower back throughout the day and then, by the time he headed home it had reached his knees. I’m not old enough to have shitty knees, he thought, running a hand over his tired eyes, I’m only in my thirties.
As he drove home he remembers Wayne working the same long hours at the same garage, returning every night to the same trailer park the same ache in his bones and the bitterness returned as it always seemed to do lately, it was a sharp buzzing sound that filled his brain with a familiar doubt.
Eddie reached over and turned the radio up as Metallica filled the cabin of his old van, he could feel his grease covered fingers tapping out the familiar guitar chords. He still played of course as a way to keep connected to his dreams, and to make a little extra money on the side. Tutoring some of the kids in Hawkins was fun but not as fun as being on stage.
Corroded Coffin, his old band had traveled to Chicago to submit their demo tapes to a big music exec, who took their tapes and gave their music to another band without even giving them a chance. The band had broken up a few years later, he still kept in touch with the guys of course, getting together for regular jam sessions, they all had families of their own so those jam sessions were few and far between.
We could have been up there with the greats, the bitter thought invading his brain as the final notes of Enter Sandman die out. I should have put this shithole town in my rear view mirror years ago and never looked back.
He hadn’t though, he needed the money so Wayne had pulled some strings and gotten him some shifts at the garage and he never left. His shoulders felt heavy and the buzzing in his brain got louder as he pulled into the trailer park. Can’t even afford a proper house.
He’d met you on his first day, the world's prettiest receptionist he’d thought, he couldn’t even get the words out when you smiled at him at the end of his first day and asked how everything had gone.
He was smitten, so he went to Steve the next day for advice about how to ask you on a date. He tried to be smooth, he had a whole speech planned out, but when he saw you, he’d shyly stumbled out the words “would you want the movies…with me?” He cringes to this day at the memory. But you just smiled and accepted and that Friday night you were sharing popcorn as you watched Michael Myers disembowel teenagers, and later, when he dropped you off at your house he kissed you and asked you to be his.
You were his for two years, you were his own personal sunshine, he’d pick you up every morning and drive you home every night just to spend more time with you, you were never apart. Things were perfect, but that didn’t stop him from feeling guilty, like he was holding you back from something or someone better, someone like you deserved so much more than what he could offer, so he did what his father had done, he ran.
Fuck, Eddie thought, I was a fucking idiot, letting the best thing that ever happened to me slip through my fingers. He pulled into the driveway and turned off the ignition, he slumped down and leaned his head against the steering wheel, hands still tightly gripping the wheel.
His friends had told him that he was an idiot, he’d agreed of course, told him to get you back and somehow after six long months you had cautiously let him into your life again under the condition that he wouldn’t break your heart again. That was four years ago.
He looked up and glanced towards the kitchen window of his trailer and there you were, cooking dinner and swaying to some music. A soft smile graced his worn out features as he watched you sway along to the music playing.
Dropping his bag by the door as he entered your small trailer, chuckling a little at the familiar strains of your current favourite song playing softly. Eddie made his way to the kitchen. He watched you for a while as you cut up vegetables for dinner, you were wearing that little sundress he loved so much, god, he thought, you’re so gorgeous, he moved forward, wrapping his arms around your waist, he smiled as you jumped in surprise. Eddie pulled you tighter against his chest as his head dropped down to rest in the crook of your neck.
“Missed you baby” Eddie mumbled against your skin. He ran his hands over your swollen belly, your son would be here in a few short months.
You ran your nails along his arms eliciting goose bumps, the shine from the small diamond on your left hand catching his eye. He’d felt bad about not being able to afford anything more, but you didn’t care about that, he remembered fondly that you had squealed with joy when he proposed. You never complained about not having more, you always said you were happy with your life, with him.
Eddie stayed like that while you cooked, needing to feel your comfort. Whatever shitty things happened at work always evaporated whenever you were around.
“Daddy!” A tiny voice came from behind the two of you as your daughter padded into the kitchen in her little Snow White princess dress. Eddie turned and scooped up the tiny little girl with the same unruly dark curls and dark eyes as his.
“Hi pumpkin” he smiled as he shifted the little girl in his arms, holding her on his hip as she wrapped her tiny, chubby arms around his neck.
“I made you a picture” your little girl, Evie, proudly informed him, showing him the finger painting she’d made clutched in her tiny hands.
“You did?” Eddie asked, taking the paper and examining the drawing “I love it pumpkin!” he said, putting it on the fridge.
“Steve called, wants to have us over for a barbecue this Saturday” you mention, placing dinner on the small table. “I was thinking of making potato salad”.
Eddie places his daughter in her high chair and takes a plate from you, “it would be good to see everyone again”
He smiles as he watches you feeding your daughter, the feelings of comfort and warmth of his little family slowly replacing the bitterness he felt earlier.
“What?” You smile up at him and his heart skips a beat, the same as it did the first day you met.
“Nothing” he smiles, maybe not being a rock star isn’t so bad. It’s not much, but it’s home to me.
