jaehee best route presentation

this is just me jokingly dunking on mysme's other routes and pointing out the weird and wacky shit that happened in comparison to jaehee's significantly more tame route (because i love her route. we stan jaehee in this household.)

meant to make a presentation cause a bunch of friends were getting together to make some dumb af presentations but im procrastinating

anyway ive never played deep story or another story mode. and the only routes ive actually played are jaehee's and yoosung's. i cant be bothered to do anyone else's (the notifs get so annoying. im the type of person who sometimes spends whole days in a row desiring me time and being all alone. so guess what when you give me a game thats basically like a messenger in which you have to actually interact by then? its like. actually socializing! which no. it hit my social limit and i just stopped trying after multiple bad endings trying to actually get to zens lol)

since im not gonna be showing off my presentation (because ah.. socialization.. and two, now im kind of scared i might trigger someone..?)

jumin. so. you know that bad ending where you're basically kept in his house and he puts trackers in your shoes so you can only walk as far as like the kitchen away from him and doing so alerts him and shit?? and its played off as being some kinky shit i think but like hello? (also i think. it was either him or saeran, but we fuck in the basement he has trauma in??)

(i mean theres also the thing with his cat. the 'i'll treat you like my pet' or something like that line?? i dont remember. or zen having a dream that elizabeth his cat was running away so he locked her up even worse so then when he opened the door she ran??)

707 is the most story-depth i think, the one ppl consider canon. in which. crazy shit probably happens there with the obligatory kidnapping and bomb threat. i honestly cant remember i didnt even go to his page to check . altohugh i think theres an ending where saerans is like 'give me a hug'. 707 does. then saeran kills him. which. oof…. poor guy. or its revealed who their dad is and basically bad things happen i think?

saeran/ray/unknown. inaccurate depiction of mental disorders or something like that (not meant to offend with wording, but i can never remember the names of shit). it was like.. we first get to know ray whose the nicer one. and then there's saeran whose an absolute asshole. there was something like 'if you dont listen something bad will happen' (which is apparently something his mom said to him or something like that?) very sucky situation

Damn, he's really became my comfort character.... I was so happy when I hear his laugh and teasing when called him, it was so adorable. I guess he's the first character, who I drawing a lot. He's even helped with developing my MC, bc she was not active as a character a few years lol

ALSO, YES, I really regret, that I played Saeran's route first, then V.... IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE, VERY BIG, I just can't read chat with him, when he's begging MC to return... And his calls, I was almost cried :(

After bomb I stop even care about V and don't remember how route ended, I mean, I feel bad for V too, but, Saeran and Seven was too much for me. Saeran was missing and Seven was so scared and depressed, too much, too much

I mean yeah, Ray was alive, but still, it's hurt :/

Yeah. I went into V Route when it was released, thinking I'd angle it platonically. It worked that way for me since I knew I'd get able to get some kind of Saeran content in there. He's high on my list of favorite characters but I don't like him like that. V's just not my type. So, don't feel too bad if you weren't romancing him. You're allowed to view the route the way it fits you. Sometimes that means you view the route in a friendship way as opposed to a romantic one.

I had the benefit of being here before Ray Route existed, so I had to go through V Route to get Ray content. It was the only way. I didn't have a situation where I knew he was already loved, happy, and safe with me and then go back and watch him suffocate. I just had that V Route content.

That's why I want to warn y'all ahead of time that if any of you like Ray and Saeran, you better play V Route first. It's better for your heart if it is one of those things you'll know that'll hurt you. At least. the answer can be found in the After Ending if you play V Route after Ray Route today! Most of us feared he was dead for a year since it took that long for the AE. The same fear for Saeyoung lovers who had to wait years to know if he was alive or dead. Honestly, let's stop putting the twins in life or death situations.

...The better route is to stop giving them bombs.

This might be a hot take but has anyone considered that Yoosung is a non-violent yandere type? Maybe even not Yandere at all??

I mean, for one thing, Seven likes to make things up to poke fun at Yoosung for his naivety, how do we know he isn't doing that with us too? -And we were all just as naïve to believe him. lol

Now, I don't really, necessarily believe that's true, but it was an interesting ponder to consider.

Thing is, I was thinking to myself, how violent or off the rails does a person have to be to be considered Yandere? Some believe you have to be on the extreme end to be a yandere, some say yanderes can be non-violent, too. See, all this time I never really got a concrete answer. Many only think of the extreme side, where the yandere kills a person that is in their way, but the Yan part, short for Yanderu, means to be ill; In this case, mentally ill, and of course dere is the "love" part of the word.

That being said, Yoosung being considered 'yandere' could potentially extend to his most extreme offense, which was allowing the bomb to go off in Rika's apartment.

If you think about it, if Yoosung was as ravenous and murder hungry as one might generally picture a yandere, wouldn't he have shredded Saeran Unknown to pieces and killed him the moment he heard he was planning to allow you (the MC) to explode with the rest of them and threatened to push the button to the detonator? I think if Yoosung were to be a harmful yandere, it'd have to be at the very most, self inflicted or negligent. Yoosung is the one who ended up hurt in that confrontation, after all.

Wait...

Do we ever find out what happened when Yoosung escaped? Saeran was ready to... well make a sacrifice of his own, because he truly felt it was what he deserved after failing his mission. We have no evidence that Yoosung did anything during their confrontation other than try to hold him off while Seven escaped. In fact, he seems to un-tense the moment he saw Seven leave; That's the moment when Saeran had the chance to apprehend him and decide how he was going to claim vengeance for getting in the way. The weird thing is how he decided to take his eye sight, but pretty much let Yoosung go or somehow escape. I guess I can only infer he didn't feel the need, since Yoosung wasn't his target anyway. Not to mention reinforcements were on the way, and I'm sure Saeran just needed to get out of there. Maybe it was that.

Anyway, I digressed. There is no proof that Yoosung would hurt anyone out of gratification. Perhaps as a result of trying to protect his love, or who knows, maybe himself if {his love} were to ever reject him. We know he went to a really bad place when it came to losing his cousin. Maybe even, 'let's escape this world together', if he were to be in a bad enough state of psychosis.

I think it's enough that he's obsessive, possessive, and comes off overly paranoid to be considered yandere by many. I mean, some people consider masochism ill, so that's also a thing. Delusions (when it came to comparing MC to Rika).. Dissociative psychosis (As in the first bad ending). The most outwardly aggressive and threatening he's been seen to be is when he threatens to destroy Seven's computers, which he didn't actually do in the end. Those kinds of things could be enough to consider him yandere if you use the root meaning alone. Just not a hard core yandere. I'm not truly convinced the boy has a murderous bone in his body. He's not angry enough. Even when he's angry he's still a puppy.

Despite that, it doesn't mean I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief for the sake of appreciating someone's art and it's message. I actually enjoy those, too, I just don't really truly, think Yoosung is outwardly, gratifyingly violent.

I imagined a scenario where MC was aware of Seven's warning, making her mildly on edge, and seeing Yoosung in the kitchen while he's cooking something. She sees some blood on his clothes, and nervously asks "Honey, what's that? Why do you have blood on your clothes." He smiles innocently with a bit of embarrassment, holding up his blood clad kitchen knife; "Ahh, I accidentally cut my finger while chopping the vegetables... oh! You wanna give it a kiss for me?"

Notes: This is my first contribution to @gureishi’s event! I plan to write more, hopefully I can follow through, haha. As you can see, 500 words is quite the challenge for me…

lol I’m usually the type of writer to include the prompt or fancy phrase, etc., into the actual work, but I couldn’t quite fit it in this time. Also, here’s hoping that the situation isn’t too confusing, haha 😅 It's unedited, so... ye

Saeyoung’s voice sounded off from the start. Like he was attempting to put on a bright and enthusiastic front, but was too distracted to keep it in check. Anxiety edged his every word, and despite being separated by miles, the tension on his end seeped into the air around you.

You didn’t have to ask. You could easily guess. It was only the beginnings of the fourth month, after all. Saeran would need time. Both of you knew this, just as both of you knew it wouldn’t be easy for anyone – especially for the brothers.

Eventually, you forced yourself to cut off his half-focused (and eerily energetic) ramble about his newest project – and at the gentle call of his name, Saeyoung fell silent.

“I can tell something’s wrong,” you murmured.

He exhaled, and there was a faint rustling. You pictured him changing positions, or brushing his fingers through his messy hair. “Uhm…” You felt his hesitance, imagined his thoughts: to brush it off, or to give in.

“You don’t have to tell me right now,” you assured him. “Just know that… I’m always here for you, okay?”

A breathy chuckle. “You’re too good to me.”

“Nuh-uh. You deserve everything good.”

He tried to deny it, tried to encourage the playful mood (albeit, not for the sake of lightheartedness), but his voice broke and failed him. Suddenly, he found himself on the edge of tears. He spoke up, words shaking, halting – poorly hiding the heavy emotion beginning to emerge. “I’m— This last week…”

Saeyoung broke down, and your heart broke in turn. He strained against the floodgates at first, but at your encouragement, eventually gave in and allowed himself the cry he had probably needed for a while now.

“It’s up and down all the time,” he told you quietly, once the tears had subsided, leaving his voice raw and his heart exposed. “One moment he seems fine, and I feel like- like there’s hope. But- but then he’ll…” He said nothing more, but you knew what he meant.

“I wish there was more I could do,” you said, and you prayed that he knew you were sincere. “And it’s unrealistic, but I wish I could mend everything between the two of you within just a day.”

He chuckled, and you weren’t sure if it was half-bitter or simply weak. “Yeah, that would be awesome. My precious 606 to the rescue!” He laughed again – and it was short, but it was oh-so sweet.

You smiled, and found yourself giggling. “I’d rescue you from everything if I could.”

“Ah, you rescue me plenty,” Saeyoung murmured (his smile was audible). “Being here, talking with me… Listening to me. It’s- it’s more than I could ever ask for.”

“Well, it’s only the least I could do for you,” you countered lightly. “Like I’ve said, you deserve all the best!”

There was silence, but you could somehow picture his smile. Then came a soft exhale; then came a soft promise: “I love you like crazy. I’ll always love you beyond what words can tell…”

For a moment, your head spun, and you couldn’t find your thoughts. But within the minute, you stammered out a timid, “You— I l- love you, too. So much…”

Again, you heard him chuckle quietly. “Can we stay like this? Just… here. Together. I keep missing your voice, your presence… I’m not ready to miss it more.”

“Yeah.” You smiled, heart fluttering. “I’m not ready to miss you, either.”

If I remember correctly, on Saeran's After Ending on his normal ending, Rika stands up to the prime minister instead and if my memory doesn't betray me, I think she gives herself in for the things she did at Mint Eye and possibly for the whole thing that happened at the Choi twins house with their mother.

After the whole scene with the prime minister, it shows Saeran and MC and when you ask where is Saeyoung. Saeran says he is visiting Rika. I'm guessing in jail or sum idk andbsbd, I was really surprised seeing that since I'm trying to get all his endings jsjdhsh

I think Jumin said in a chatroom or in a phone call that V is going through a trial and will be released? I'm not sure if they are still together.

Thanks for reminding me! I only remember assuming they were going to court, bc I do remember Jumin saying that and something about the charges being dropped, so I think V at least got away Scott free and meanwhile I’m assuming Rika is going to a mental hospital bc she can plead (is it insanity? Or like what was it called? I feel like insanity is too much of a stretch for it lmao but that’s the first thing that came up, it might be smth different aNYWAY) she can plead and say she was mentally unstable and they can easily get her in a super nice mental health facility!

So I sort of take back what I said pft Saeran’s route did fuck up the redemption chance but it also sort of helped bc it showed Rika can give herself up and do one good thing that isn’t because she is doing it for herself. I actually like that! That’s honestly what I wanted from the very beginning!

Then it’s only the V AE that let her off far too…delicately. I don’t think she went to jail in that one but to the resort also mentioned in the SE. even if she went to jail I didn’t like how the beginning was making us try and go oh look at poor Rika! Oh she is being treated badly by everyone oh no! Like dude nope.

I still wish they could’ve gotten her character into a more like…firm spot. I feel she’s still all over the place. It’s like Jumin in Jaehees route (i love that woman but my god I could not finish that route the Jumin slander was like they stabbed me aH) they just didn’t represent his character correctly. If we see deep story Rika with AS Rika they’re different (and we could make the argument that true, it’s two years earlier but like…she’s still wayyy too different in a way that’s not oh she’s hardened or smth it’s more like oh she’s like this now with no explanation) the Rika behind story I feel made more sense with the SE and deep story Rika.

It’s like Cheritz decided last minute on the AS oh we’re making her not the villain now!

But yeah pft idk if I explained my thoughts correctly lol but do tell me if that is indeed what happens in Saeran’s AE! :0

okay time for seven’s after life piece! if you recall, i started this series with zen, which you can read here: after life: zen

there will be one of these for every character. i think yoosung will be next but it might be jaehee.

you guys voted for the maximum angst so while the last story will have the big angsty conclusion, these fics aren’t going to go easy on you, lol.

It had taken time and patience but Saeyoung was opening up. At first, he was scared to reveal the truth to you. He had spent so long hiding and joking and lying that he almost didn't know how to tell you the truth. But the way you were open with him, the way you smiled for him, the way you never hid yourself, he slowly learned to trust again. The process was slow at first. He didn't immediately pour out all of his secrets. But small things. Things that showed his willingness to continue to trust you.

The biggest reveal came late one night. You were in bed with Saeyoung, his arms wrapped around you. He always preferred to sleep holding you, to ensure he'd wake up by your side still. The lights were out, the room too dark for even shadows to take shape. The blankets kept you warm but Saeyoung kept you feeling safe. He was talking quietly, babbling as he sometimes did. Something about ice cream, which you knew he loved. He talked about a popsicle, and at first it all sounded inconsequential.

"My favorite popsicle is grape," he began softly. You heard the smile in his voice, could picture him lying on his back, speaking to the ceiling but telling you. Sometimes it helped him if he didn't face you when he revealed his secrets. "At first, I liked strawberry. It always stained my lips and I'd kiss him on the cheek and joke it was lipstick. I would tell him it meant he was loved…" His voice took on a sad note. You silently took his hand under the covers, grounding him. He often drifted back into his own memories without an anchor to the present. "But one day, they only had one grape and one strawberry. I wanted the strawberry popsicle. Like always. But Saeran… hadn't eaten. Mom was angry, she'd been hitting him until she passed out. We snuck out and I promised to get him some ice cream."

Your breath caught in your throat. Though Saeyoung had said little of him yet, you knew Saeran's name. The long-lost brother that Saeyoung left in order to protect him. "You took the grape so he could have the strawberry?" you guessed, though you already knew that was exactly what Saeyoung had done.

He gave a mirthless laugh into the darkness. "I did. I always wanted him to be happy. He smiled so big when I gave him the popsicle. It's the last smile of his I remember."

Saeyoung talked about his brother for hours. Late into the night, he still spoke, the words pouring out of him. He explained that the last time he'd seen Saeran was after a particularly nasty fight with their mother. In order to save Saeran, Saeyoung was forced to leave. His biggest regret, he said. Now all he wished was to know his brother was safe.

With that goal in mind, you used every resource available to you. Saeyoung knew more contacts that could be of use but you made do. There wasn’t much of a trail but eventually you found enough clues. You uncovered Saeran’s potential whereabouts and that was when you told Saeyoung of your efforts. Together, you brought the massive web of lies to the light. Rescuing Saeran did not prove to be easy but eventually he was found and brought to the hospital for treatment. They had found Saeran but he was hardly safe. Not yet.

Until the hospital flushed the drugs out of his system. That enabled the brothers to have a talk, finally, after so many years. The reunion brought tears to your eyes. You were so happy for the both of them. But then you saw the shadow. As Saeran was falling asleep, a shadow began to grow. When it took on the shape of a man, Saeyoung noticed it as well. He grew grim, and checked his brother to make sure he was asleep. Then he took your hand and led you to the hall.

“There’s something I have to tell you,” he said tersely, watching the door to Saeran’s room. “Something else that happened.” The shadow seemed to seep through the door, becoming more and more human-like. Saeyoung watched it as it became a man they both knew. “That night when I had to leave Saeran…” Saeyoung tried to say, grasping your hands in his. “The reason I had to leave wasn’t just because of the fight. It was because our mother was beating Saeran. I had to stop her. I came between her and Saeran.”

Now the shadow had completely become V, his face somber. He nodded. You felt the tears sting your eyes. No. Not again.

Saeyoung looked at V, silently pleading for just a few minutes more. “I stopped her from beating him,” he said again, his words spilling out faster, desperately trying to tell you his story before V took him. “She had grabbed a brick. She tried to throw it at Saeran.” Saeyoung was crying now, squeezing your hands, his gaze flickering between you and V. She hit me instead. I… I thought I had fallen asleep when V ‘woke’ me up. But my head hurt so bad. And V let me look in the window… I saw my body. And Saeran, huddling in the corner. Our mother… She wasn’t there. She’d left Saeran alone with my body.” Saeyoung was sobbing too much to continue.

V stepped closer. “Saeyoung had died to protect his brother. He gave his life so his brother might have another chance. But if Saeran stayed with that woman, that chance would be wasted.” Saeyoung hugged you, grasping you so tightly you could barely breathe. He cried into your shoulder, and you cried as V spoke. V looked sympathetic. “He wanted nothing more than for Saeran to be safe. He couldn’t bear to leave without knowing Saeran would survive. He said he just had to know Saeran would be safe.”

“You made a deal with him…” you murmured, tasting your own salty tears on your lips.

“Yes,” V said softly. “He couldn’t and wouldn’t leave without it. But unfortunately, simply removing Saeran from his mother was not enough to ensure his safety. It wasn’t until you two found him and brought him here. He is no longer on the elixir and his mind is his own again. He is receiving treatment. Saeyoung had always said he just needed to see, to know that his brother would be safe. Now Saeyoung knows.”

You felt Saeyoung nod and he slowly lifted his head off your shoulder. “I know...he’ll be safe with you,” he said. You heard the crack in his voice but you also heard his strength. All along, Saeyoung had been so much stronger than he ever let anyone know.

You couldn’t argue with him. You nodded. You would never let harm come to Saeran. Not anymore. But still… “He’d be safer with you. With us,” you pleaded. Whether you were asking V or Saeyoung didn’t matter. You couldn’t say goodbye. You weren’t ready. V put a hand on Saeyoung’s shoulder. “But wait!” you cried, holding onto Saeyoung as he turned to go with V. “Saeran is just starting to heal. You’re taking his brother now? How could Saeran possibly recover from that?”

V hung his head. “It is best...that Saeran not remember everything,” he said. Saeyoung squeezed his eyes shut. “He will not forget but it will seem more like a dream. It will show Saeran he has the strength to save himself and Saeran will know his brother loved him all this time.”

Saeyoung met your eyes. His were still wet with tears but they were filled with determination. “Give him a hug for me when he wakes up again. Help him, okay? Make sure he knows I love him and help him. I wouldn’t trust anyone but you to look after him.” His lips curled into a sad smile. He kissed your cheek. “And don’t forget I love you, too. I love you both. So you need to take care of yourself too.”

You sobbed as Saeyoung stepped back, going to V’s side. Your eyes were flooded with tears until your lids closed automatically to push the tears out. When your eyes opened again, V and Saeyoung were gone.

Oh, by all means, I encourage it! You're giving me an excuse to talk about her more lol so thanks for asking!

What is a secret that they have?

I STRUGGLED with this one lol. I guess she’s just not really the type to really keep any major secrets before joining RFA/Mint Eye. In general, secrets she does keep tend to be others’ rather than her own. That’s not to say she doesn’t have any, just nothing particularly noteworthy (that I can think of).

She does keep her name a secret online, and hence from RFA at first — but that’s pretty normal, standard stuff.

Would they trust anyone with their secret?

Most people who know her in person are going to know her name! She goes by MC in online settings, but irl she uses it as a nickname for friends and such. So while she may have introduced herself as MC to some, most people would know both names.

She eventually comes to trust RFA with her real name too, though I imagine they’d switch between calling her by both and it also depends which member is addressing her and how formal they want to be. Of course, depending on the timeline, either Seven and Unknown or Ray would know her name early on, but the others she tells on her own terms. Saeyoung understands using one name and hiding the other, so he just doesn’t bring it up until she tells him (likely soon after he reveals his own name). With Saeran, he also gets not wanting to use your true name but... well, I’ll make a comic about this one day.

What is something that never fails to make them excited?

Probablyy getting something sweet to eat! Girl has a major sweet tooth (like me lmao).

Neck kisses or shoulder kisses?

Prefacing this by saying she would consider both to be very intimate and probably only be comfortable with it in a loving romantic relationship!

so if it's giving: She can be rather shy lol. She probably won't do this unless she's feeling particularly emboldened or more affectionate than usual lol. And she's more likely to go for shoulders.

if it's receiving: Can I say both? She won't really mind, but I suppose she's more sensitive to neck kisses; she doesn't necessarily prefer them but they're gonna get more of a reaction. She's gonna be more flustered haha

Saeran/Ray After Ending: My Thoughts

Hey everyone! I’m not one to really go in-depth about stuff in here, but I really felt the urge to talk about this since Saeran is a character that is really dear to me and this After Ending was something that I and many, many other people had been looking forward to for a long time.

I’ll be talking spoilers about the entire AE below the cut, so please beware!

I wanted to start off with the things I really did enjoy.

Cheritz trying new things with the AEs for both V and Saeran was really great, in my opinion. They could have stuck with the previous format of just giving us sneak peeks into the respective couple’s life after getting together but instead decided to turn them into complete story expansions that felt more like Secret Endings. The effort and care everyone at Cheritz has put into these storylines is incredible and they deserve all the kudos and praise.

The chatroom format was a really cool idea and having the player influence the outcome was something I greatly enjoyed. Having the story be a romance/thriller combination was super fun and immersive, too. The prologue was a great hook in my opinion--it had my heart beating fast with anxiety from the very start lolol.

ALL THE SAERAN FLUFF AND CALLS, LORD ALMIGHTY. I ADORED EVERY SECOND OF IT! I totally picture Saeran being a really cheesy and adoring boyfriend, especially since MC is so precious to him. I think they hit the nail right in the head with this.

The CGs were BEAUTIFUL. I was shocked at how many we got for a 4-day story, and they all really brought the story to life. Huge props to Cheritz for the immense effort they put into them.

The first two days of the AE (though extremely anxiety-inducing and emotionally painful for most of their duration, lol) were super entertaining and how I had always envisioned the story going down. I think having the PM and the agency unite forces as the main antagonistic force was awesome, and I really wish the story had solely focused on them.

Now, the things I didn’t like.

The Rika drama. I totally understand why addressing and breaking down Rika’s terrible actions is important for Saeran’s story. But... why, why did we need to revisit the “actually Rika has always been a good person that did some bad things” plot point when it was already done to death in V’s AE and route? I’m sorry, but this makes my blood boil.

Rika abused Saeran so badly to the point that he had to split his personality into two different people to survive, drugged him into hating his own brother, constantly told him and made him believe he was worthless if he didn’t work his ass off 24/7, killed his fucking mother, etc. The list goes on. Not to mention: she broke and drugged the minds of many other people! Not just Saeran!

I understand that the story gives us options to call Rika and V out on this bs and it encourages us to do it, but... just the fact that we have to entertain the possibility of forgiving her and letting her get off scot-free truly, truly fucking floors me.

What really bothered me about this is that this subplot took an entire day out of the 4-day story. A whole ass day that could have been spent developing the PM-agency storyline (which, again, I truly wish they had focused on). It really sucked that we had to spend a day exclusively talking to Rika and V about the same thing over, over, and over again.

V. What in the hell did Cheritz do to his character, lmao? I don’t like V at all and the actions he’s chosen to take in regards to Rika and Saeran have always truly infuriated and baffled me. But, I’ve never thought of him as someone who would willingly hurt the RFA.

I was SHOCKED to see how selfish and twisted he was in this story, especially in Day 3. He said he would never try to change Rika again and hoped she would flourish as a result and become a better person. But. My good man, how in the hell did he ever think that kidnapping two grown ass adults and forcing them to be their children was a sane decision?

I was truly convinced until the very last moment that V returning to Rika was a red herring and that he had a plan all along to keep her in check and protect the RFA. But nope.

I may not be a V stan, but even I know that V would never act so selfishly.

The GE/NE resolution. It felt so rushed and is the main reason why I think Day 3 should have been handled differently. The truly bullshit thing that stood out to me about it was how a short confrontation with the illegitimate son he gives no shits about is enough for the PM to have a change of heart. LOL. The corrupt, greedy prime minister that has his entire life and career hanging on a line is suddenly enlightened on his evil ways and turns himself in. Am I too cynical for thinking this resolution is stupid and makes no sense? I know at this point it was basically impossible for him to not get arrested, but I really didn’t buy this and it felt like cop-out from Cheritz’s part, writing-wise.

How Saeran’s trauma was handled. I know I already expressed loving how Saeran was towards MC in this AE, but that does not include this part specifically, lol.

I understand a big part of Saeran’s story is learning to forgive and understand to find true happiness and freedom. And I love that, it truly is a beautiful direction for his character.

I know Cheritz is not great at writing realistic trauma recovery for his characters--that was already apparent in Saeran’s route. But, I never found it so unrealistic to the point of breaking immersion for me until this AE. It just felt so silly at some points that I couldn’t even convince myself that maybe it was possible.

It’s been two weeks since he escaped Mint Eye, and... he is completely fine with talking casually to Rika, trying to understand her, and being in the same room as her? He is fine with confronting the PM and telling him he forgives him because ‘he must have a tragic past’? Really?

Maybe he is just a better person than I am lol, but this was too much. I completely understand how someone could reach this level of inner peace and choose to forgive their abusers in order to heal. But. Two weeks. Although the circumstances were different, I think the Secret Ending handled Saeran’s recovery a lot better in this sense.

In Summary: LOVED Day 1 and 2, hated Day 3 and 4

I’m sorry if I got a bit too rant-y on the reasons why I disliked the AE LOL. I just had many feelings about it and couldn’t stop myself. If anyone wants to send me or comment their own thoughts, please feel free to do so!! I would love to read some different perspectives.

I don’t hate the AE as whole, but it really let me down in some big ways. I’ll probably try to replay it in the future and see if I change my mind about some aspects about it, though. It’s sad to say this, but V’s AE left me feeling more fulfilled in some regards than this lol. I really wish Saeyoung would have had more involvement in the story, too.

I did love the very final epilogue for both the GE and NE, which was the main thing I was hoping for--so there’s that, I guess.

“Come on Saeyoung! It’s just one day!” Yoosung pleaded with the red head.

“NO! Absolutely not!” Saeyoung’s amber eyes were wide with disbelief at the continued bombardment from Yoosung. “I’m not going to let you ‘borrow’ my wife just so you don’t have to face the ‘why don’t you have a girlfriend yet’ questions from your family.”

“Please! I’m begging you. You don’t know what it’s like!” the blond fell to his knees and clutched at Saeyoung’s shirt.

MC was having a difficult time controlling her laughter and Saeran, who stood right beside her, sucked on a lollipop with a smirk on his face.

“Maybe if you put this much effort into actually finding a girlfriend, you’d have one.” Saeyoung tried to pull the shirt from Yoosung’s grasp. Saeran shook his head at the comedic gold unfolding before his eyes.

“Now you’re just being mean.” Yoosung let go of his best friend and fell back, sitting on his heels, rejected.

“OK OK, I’m sorry.” Saeyoung laughed and squatted in front of Yoosung.

“Does that mean that I can take MC to my family’s reunion as my girlfriend?” Yoosung asked eagerly.

“No.” was the firm answer.

“Oh.” Yoosung hung his head again. He would just have to suffer another year of his far flung relatives shaking their heads and clicking their tongues at his inability to snag a mate. He was 22 years old now and still never had a girlfriend, his teenaged relatives were going to tease him again.

“Why don’t you ask Saeran?” Saeyoung suggested. Saeran choked on the lollipop and he doubled over in a coughing fit. Yoosung’s head swiveled towards the other twin. Saeran? He blinked, really thinking about it. Would it matter if he had a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend? Sure, some in his family would disapprove but so what? It was still better than the alternative.

He stood so fast he inadvertently shoved Saeyoung on his ass. The blond didn’t even give him a backwards glance let alone an apology. MC hurried to her husband and helped him up.

“What about it Searan? It’s just one day. Well, a day and a half maybe. We’d stay in my old room. Mom’s not a prude so she would assume we’re already sleeping together. And it would be better that way, it would save a lot of questions about why we’re not in the same room. I know my family, they tend to get nosy. But you don’t have to say anything. I can tell them you’re shy and very private. They won’t leave you alone just because of that, but you can get away with some one-word answers. It’s my sister you have to worry about. She’ll drill you, so we’d have to get our stories straight, you know, how did we meet? Well, that’s easy I guess, you’re my best friend’s brother obviously. What was our first date? When did you know you liked me, a…”

“Shut up!” Saeran had been taking several steps back until he hit the couch, Yoosung coming at him like a machine gun. Yoosung’s amethyst eyes blinked slowly, his cupid’s mouth turning into a frown, his lower lip trembling. “Damn it! Stop looking at me like that!”

“Like what?” he asked innocently, eyebrows knitting together pathetically above his eyes.

Saeran sighed and looked away. “Fine! I’ll do it, but I’m not answering any questions and I’m not going to be nice to anyone, got it?”

Yoosung threw himself on Saeran and hugged him tight. Saeran stiffened, not returning the hug, but not pushing the blond away either.

“OK OK, get off me!” Saeran finally pushed Yoosung off and rubbed his arms. “I’ll go pack. One day! I’m giving you one day that’s it!” the red head stated as he walked towards his room. “And don’t expect me to change who I am!” he called over his shoulder.

“Never!” Yoosung laughed jumping up and down with joy. His own bag was already packed. He’d waited till the last minute to ask about MC pretending to be his girlfriend, hoping it would help in making Saeyoung say yes. He’d been wrong. Of course, if he had a wife of his own, he wouldn’t like letting her pretend to be anyone else’s girlfriend either. “Oh, Saeyoung, can you drive us to the train station?”

Saeyoung and MC both took them to the station and stayed until the train pulled away.

Yoosung was grateful for their support, but still a little worried about Saeran.

“Thanks for doing this. I know you don’t really want to.” Yoosung said as the train began to move. They faced each other and Saeran had wasted no time pulling a book out of his bag to read.

“Whatever. Why do you even care what they think about you anyway? So what you’re taking your time to choose someone. If you ask me, people are too quick to jump into a relationship.” He went back to reading his book as Yoosung spent the rest of the ride thinking about what he’d said.

Once they stepped off the train Yoosung grabbed Saeran’s arm. “Wait. I shouldn’t have asked you, or anyone, to do this. It’s stupid right? I mean, what you said, about caring what they think? I don’t know how to answer that if I’m honest.” He ran a hand through his hair, the corners of his mouth tightening.

“Look, I get it…well…I mean, I don’t really have family like you. If I did, I wouldn’t want all their unasked-for interference in my life either. If it means you spend a day and a half without having to fend off all those aunts and uncles and cousins asking about your nonexistant love life and trying to give you advice, it’s worth it.” Saeran shrugged. “Don’t worry about it.” He held out his hand and Yoosung grartefully took it.

“Are you sure? I mean, I can just introduce you as a friend.” Yoosung offered.

“Nah, I’m already in the boyfriend mindset! Hmm, I say we hated each other at first. I would tease you for being so naïve and gullible and you’d tear into me for being an asshole and mean. But we spent so much time together, with Saeyoung being your bestie and all, that we kind of became Saeyoung and MC’s double date couple until I asked you out for real. What do you think?” they walked hand in hand out of the train station and hailed a cab.

“Sounds great actually. Well, I say our first date was at a super fancy restaurant, since you asked me, but we ended up ditching it for a burger joint that had the greasiest burgers in town.” He smiled, really getting into it.

“Love it! I know the exact place too. Jujin’s Bites.”

“Oh yes! That place would be perfect!” Saeran opened the door to the back of the cab and Yoosung climbed in, Saeran right behind him. He took Yoosung’s hand again and it made Yoosung’s heart race. What was this feeling? He felt so at ease with Saeran but at the same time his heart had never raced so fast next to him like this. He leaned against him and Saeran squeezed his hand harder. Was he just getting into the role of his boyfriend? That had to be it right?

Saeran kept talking during the fifteen-minute drive and Yoosung just nodded and made general ascenting noises. His mind was working overtime, trying to calm himself down. This wasn’t real, but it suddenly felt very real. Confusion clouded his thinking as he sifted through his feelings. The ride was way too short to figure anything out definitively, so he tried to just shut it down. Shove those feelings into a box, tape it up, and lock it behind a closed door in the back of his mind.

Taking a deep breath, he allowed Saeran to help him out of the car. The red head then paid the driver and picked up his bag, slinging it over his shoulder. Yoosung did the same with his. They reached out to each other, holding hands quickly becoming a thing of ease and habit. The door to his mother’s house opened before they were even halfway up the sidewalk. His mother came rushing out and hugged him tightly. He let go of Saeran and returned his mother’s hug. His father and sister stood in the doorway, his sister, Yasmine, arched her eyebrow and gave him a very pointed questioning look as those same lavender eyes transferred towards Saeran at his side.

“Mom, you’re cutting off my circulation.” He managed to squeeze out.

“Oh, sorry, it’s just so nice to see my baby.” Saeran snorted but kept his comment to himself.

“I was just here last month.” Yoosung said.

“And who is this handsome fellow?” she asked, taking a step back and eyeing Saeran up and down.

“Oh, well, uh…” Yoosung suddenly couldn’t lie to his mother.

“I’m Saeran, Yoosung’s boyfriend.” Saeran introduced himself and bowed to the woman respectfully.

“Boyfriend? Why didn’t I know about this?” she asked, steely eyes turning to her son.

“I wanted to tell you in person that’s all.” Yoosung looked away.

“We’ve only been seeing each other a couple of weeks. At least, officially.” Saeran tried to smile but it looked like a smirk and Yoosung was sure his family was getting the wrong idea.

“Yeah, uh, maybe we can talk inside?” the neighbors had suddenly decided to be a bit nosy, and it was making Yoosung uncomfortable.

“Of course, come in come in.” his mom stepped between them, turned around and slid her arms into theirs, leading them into the house.

Yasmine had that look in her eyes and Yoosung tried to catch Saeran’s eye to give him an “I’m sorry” look. It was going to get ugly.

The train ride back was mostly silent as they sat side by side. Sleeping in the same bed had been awkward after spending the day with his family. Yoosung had been right, some people in his family had not approved of two men being a couple, but their protests had been quickly shut down by his own mother and many who supported the relationship. Saeran had been a hit. Even with his dour expressions and curt answers, they had loved him.

There had been one uncomfortable moment when his sister had questioned their relationship and asked for proof by demanding they kiss. Yoosung had turned beat red at the idea but Saeran hadn’t hesitated, taking his chin and tilting it up slightly with thumb and forefinger. He had grazed Yoosung’s trembling lips, and softly pressed against them with his own. A sigh had escaped Yoosung’s lips as he felt Saeran’s wet tongue infiltrate his mouth. His head swam and he felt as if he would pass out, but Saeran held him close and didn’t let him slip. His sister had been satisfied and Yoosung had to admit, he had too. He’d spent the rest of the day thinking about that kiss and wondering if there would be more.

Unfortunately, there hadn’t been, but it had made for an awkward night. Saeran never mentioned it and Yoosung wondered if it had been no big deal to him. He felt sad at that thought. He chanced a glance to his side and saw that Saeran’s eyes were closed. He studied the profile, the sharp angle of his cheek, he still looked like he needed to eat more, but Yoosung knew that frailty was an illusion. He was strong, stronger than anyone he’d ever known. He had to be to still be somewhat sane after everything he’d been through.

He studied the delicate eyelashes, a soft orange that matched his hair. His eyes ran across the smattering of freckles and he ached to reach out and touch them. The feel of Saeran’s lips were still on his mind and he couldn’t help but to ingrain every inch of the soft pink flesh into his mind. He didn’t want the subterfuge to end he realized. He wanted to make it real. Saeran, Saeran was who he had been waiting for all his life. This man, with all his faults and trauma. Love wasn’t rose petals and rainbows. Unicorns and fantasyland. It was reality. The will to be with someone who wasn’t perfect but was perfect for you. The desire to make that person happy and to share their burdens. To walk on solid ground while looking up at the sky and weathering every storm that hit them. Together. He reached out and took a hold of Saeran’s hand and as he watched, those soft lips he had been studying shifted into a smile.

Mystic Messenger Saeran’s AE Thoughts (.......And Prayers..) #Spoilerz

Hello, I just finished Saeran’s after ending and I have a lot of things to say and I am going to write it down while I'm still all keyed up about it.

First of all… Please DO NOT ask me how much money I spent to finish this as fast as I did…. I’m grown but my bank account is certainly going to have a good ole fashioned CHUCKLE at this….. It’s been a long quarantine I deserve a lil happiness as a treat methinks!

I have been playing this absolutely insane game since I think 2016? When I first started playing the deep routes had JUST come out I think? And I was just finishing up high school and am now a college grad...lmao

I’ve played all routes at least once except Jaehee but i’ve seen walkthroughs of her route (I’ve heard it makes you hate Jumin and he’s my favorite so um. hehe). V’s and Saeran’s routes I found to be so emotionally intense and just….a lot and I've been waiting a long ass god damn time for this after ending okay…. I would theorize and make up an ending in my head but i’m no writer so it was hard to figure out lol. I’m a Jumin stan mostly but I love everybody and yeah I should probably play that jumin dlc too but I need like a DAY to recover from Saeran’s AE. Enough about me HERE are my thoughts on it overall

Major Saeran AE Spoilers under da cut!

Can we please discuss V showing up to the C+R conference room with basically chloroform and made everybody Pass Out like??? I was alone in my room at like midnight just SCREAMING at my phone???? And the creepy ass CG ???? It’s like that gif of sarah paulson from ahs being like “I put arsenic in the wine….and the pasta”

Anyway I screamed at V a lot during this process!!

Loved RFA being sweet and kind to saeran (before V fucking drugged them…)

This is such common V behavior “I have to do it all myself...there’s no other way..” GIRL SHUT UPPP You do this every route....

Their dad is so>??????? When he was sitting on the couch with saeyoung in that one CG while simultaneously telling him to kill himself?????????? Maybe chairman han is actually the best dad in this game somehow

When V and Rika were like we’re back together teehee teehee okay pack it up bonnie and clyde ..

When chairman han calls u and says hes jealous of u and saeran…..HUH????? I’m calling HR

When they go to the apartment and see boss and vanderwood and poor saeyoung is sitting there seeing his brother for the first time in years i wanted to D word sooooo bad like PAIN...PAIN….

Can we HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT JUMIN HAN BEING THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME AND HE LOST EVERYTHING IN THIS AE……. he just took the blame and moved on jumin what the hell….. I love him so much r we serious? He watched his 2 closest friends betray him in the worst way and found out abt how Rika abused Saeyoung and Saeran???? I felt just AWFUL. Terrible ...Terrible….

Rika’s change in demeanor from Saeran's actual route is certainly a Choice. I find her much more bearable this time around and unfortunately i think I was too nice to her and ended up with a bad end LMFAO

I was happy to see Saeran stand up for himself and become stronger and confident. You go king!

The CG of Yoosung laying in Zen’s lap is everything to me…

HOWEVER YUP I sure did get a bad ending and I was so mad fdsafdskfdhsf ! (I would be happy to clarify how I got the good one the second time.) MAKE SURE To SAVE EARLY in days 2 and 3 bc the branches on day 4 is where the bad end will show up. For me it was the first day 4 chat and then a story mode titled “SAVIOR”.... If you see that RUN FOR THE HILLS!!

I was so mad! But I had saved in day 2 and replayed and MANAGED to get good end

Like it’s good they know but damn that storyline is just so bleak

I think it was satisfying TO A DEGREE….To see Rika understand where she was wrong, why she was wrong, fess up and even APOLOGIZE! I was very surprised.

Saeran and Saeyoung are Certainly twins with the amount that those two self sacrifice in every route MY GOD…..

The scene with Jumin talking to his father and the other scene of him praying oh my god I cannot tell you how happy I was to see him begin to understand and address his own feelings in a route that was not his own. My main problem with Jumin’s route has always been the trapping MC in his penthouse aspect.. This way Jumin understands love and emotions without being overly possessive !!! YAY also loved seeing him be on good terms with his dad who was surprisingly profound

That last Story mode was Really a Lot…. and Strange things occurred which I will get into in just a minute

I was happy with how they handled it for the most part. I think Cheritz heard our feedback about V’s after ending and was like okay….let’s try something different

HOWEVER

Saeran…. Sweet kind saeran… IS SO AFFECTIONATE HAHA….

He must have said I love you like 300 times…..very mushy gushy flowery language...and maybe that’s just his personality but for me it was like eating cake with buttercream cake. It means well, but god damn is it sugary and going to cause a stomach ache later.

He was just… SO MUCH! SO forward and ON all the time in his affections. I honestly felt kind of smothered and by day 3 and 4 I was sooooo over all the compliments… King you’ve come a very long way, but ur still putting MC on a pedestal and probably need to see a therapist.

Nextly….Rika and V….. Naw that knock out gas really ...that hurt lol. Coming from “I would do anything to protect RFA” V? Idk like…. EYE felt betrayed reading that. It was just hurtful. I can’t even imagine how the members would have felt as they were passing out. It was just so cruel. I suppose I understand why but like?? Just TERRIBLE

Them being in cahoots with the agency and the prime minister..HUH??? Also too much

V just felt so irresponsible like I do understand that he ended up in a weird web of secrets that’s hard to untangle but he’s so fucking stubborn he’s SO stubborn it makes me insane. Like sir… It seems like in other routes he wanted to try to protect Rika and the RFA.. But in this AE it seems more to me that he was like yeah i’m protecting Rika and That’s It… so fucking hurtful to me. Both of y’all apologize ESPECIALLY to the twins and Jumin..

The forgiveness thing…… Okay so I think some people will not like that Saeran decided to “forgive” the people who hurt him (Rika, V, Saejoong, his mother). I would point out that I actually think this was approached somewhat well. He says at one point that he doesn’t think they’re good or bad, just people. I think he sounded mature and like this was the way for him personally to accomplish his healing process. Would I have loved for Saeran to flip V and Rika off and kick Saejoong off a cliff? Yea I really would. But like…. If that’s what HE needs to do to heal then who am I to judge?

HOWEVER…. Everything Eye just said goes out the window when the scenes at the end with Saejoong come up… I was PERPLEXED. Like why did he HUG his deranged father who just kicked the shit out of him??? Also all the chat options that MC has with him r like blah blah you’re like this because no one loves you were so corny to me LMFAOOOO?

AND WHEN HE WAS IN THE ROOM LATER WITH SAERAN… i’m sorry but if that were me I would have called a nurse to deck his ass. Cool he turned himself in YOU SUCK SOOOO BAD AND I NEVER WANT YOU TO COME NEAR SAEYOUNG AND SAERAN AGAIN THANKS.

*scratches ass* I wish I got to see saeyoung and saeran finally sit down and have that first conversation after a long time and hug CG but the ending was fine I GUESS….. I dont care about ROMANCE I want those boys to be happy brothers together

Anyway that was really emotionally exhausting but I fr think I got it out of my system after literal years… And I can rest in peace knowing the choi twins are happy. THATS ALL I WANTED TO KNOW!!!!
