OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

Like there are so many things you can do #So many ways to murder ✨✨✨✨ #Some of the best moments are times where you pull a 360 noscope on a cyan and send it tumbling through the air into the void #And doing your first slide-throw into a lizards underbelly #So risky but so rewarding #AND THIS IS ALL JUST THE BASE GAME! #The dlc is literally a mod that got so big the devs saw it and helped fund it #It adds so much to the game. Literally the mod devs asked themselves what crazy thing a slugcat could do #Coded it #And was like uhhh how does this fit into the lore #So that's how we got boomcat and Jesus Cat #I literally talked to one of the devs by chance (they're pretty active. You can just ask them stuff) and they admitted as such #It's great! gameplay first at its peak! #Anyways give the game a shot. If you want to Get Gud at a game rainworld is for you. It's a game entirely about skill #Not to mention... 400+ hours in and I'm still not done with the game #Prepare for the long haul

Random Thought

So, a while back I posted a pic of all the Pokemon dudes that I like despite knowing basically nothing about Pokemon, and it's become a very shocking fact to me that despite their apparent popularity, the train dudes do basically nothing in their home game.

#how do i know they do nothing if i don't play pokemon? #because i looked through a playilst of an old chugg/a/conroy LP and they weren't in a single thumbnail for that series #that dude covers EVERYTHING in a series. if they were important they would have been there #i guess side characters are capable of getting large fan bases for basically no reason #but i find it very odd regardless #is it a fun mode? #is there a different piece of media that led to their popularity? #because i have minimal interest in pokemon as a series outside of character/creature design #i don't mind looking up spoilers for it #so i know that ingo in particular got a boost after arceus for *Reasons* #and the inherent tragedy of that story was sure to increase the fans of both #but why the heck were they popular before that? #because them being on my personal list is because #i was bombarded with fanart about them for like 2 months so i was basically suckered into caring about them #anyway. i don't think i'm gonna go through the trouble of updating that graphic #but these are the new pokedudes that would be added to it: #gordie. as per forgetting him the first time. #the principal of the school and his alter ego #the dark type leader of team star #the biology. art. and cooking teacher #larry. #and the professor from pokemon sleep #for the record there are pokegals that i like too but that list is much shorter than thus much less interesting #it's hard for me to get into anime girls because i always feel like they're trying to sell me something #and i'm usually not buying

I'm gonna write what I want and I know some people will still read it. but yknow. it's rough #also my relationship with pokemon and the nuzlocke community has been really fucking complicated these past few years #to the point where I stopped engaging altogether bc it was stressing me out too much and I had lost all confidence in my writing #this happened to be right before I got into blb. which came along at the perfect time and gave me the community & confidence boost I needed #now it kinda feels like we've come full circle. blb has changed me and now I'm ready to go back with a whole new attitude #I just don't want these two things to be mutually exclusive!
