Compassion is unconditional.
See why an unkind person is conditioned to be unkind.
See why is anyone conditioned into doing anything
that is unforgivable.
Once we do, we can all be kind to the unforgivable.

eddie looks out the blinds, moving them so that only one slat is open between his first two fingers. he’s breathing hard and prone to pacing, right back to it once he determines that the coast is clear. he wrings his hands, his hair bouncing wildly with each step. he’s changed since everything happened, and envy’s looking at him like he’s lost his god damn mind.
“i think i’m paranoid. and complicated.”

has anyone else noticed the fucking.. thing recently where characters in shows/books/games/everywhere start talking like a trained therapist the moment they are in a serious conversation with another character.
this is to be expected in kids' shows wherein the tone shift indicates that they are about to explain something children need to learn (like a parental figure telling the younger main character "sometimes... people want to be left alone, and that's okay 🤗☺️"). but in other stories, especially ones that arent set in the modern day and world, it's a completely jarring shift. i feel like this happens a lot when characters talk about topics such as sexuality or relationships or trauma. suddenly the writing doesnt have faith in the audience at all to understand a message like "abuse is bad" or "it's ok to struggle with conflicting emotions" without it being said gently to the sound of reassuring music by a character speaking like a self-help guide personified.
the emergence of this trend is for sure related to the prevalence of the belief that "portrayal" always = "condonement". but art shouldnt have to act like all of its audience is 5 years old and feel like it's unable to present complex themes without a mouthpiece character for the author essentially expressing "i know this thing is morally wrong, don't cancel my writing for portraying it". characters should be allowed to be messy/talk in a way that isnt the most emotionally intelligent. and if any part of the audience believes that characters' actions are always like. an assertion of how that writer thinks people should behave in given situations then god they should learn to interpret art or else they will find much of it unbearable. if you are going to question a writer's biases and the subsequent faults of their stories comprehensively then you need to understand this at least first.

The Healthy Life-Self-Forgiveness
Self-forgiveness is critical to moving forward by having a positive self-image. Contrary, a negative self-image will ruin your future and potential if you blame and criticize your past mistakes or failures.
Self-forgiveness is critical to moving forward by having a positive self-image. Contrary, a negative self-image will ruin your future and potential if you blame and criticize your past mistakes or failures. Forgiveness can cause peace in any relationship while eliminating hostile feelings. Specifically, self-forgiveness is changing the ego’s attitude from punishing to accepting. Then, what…

Psalm 32
Psalm 32
The Blessedness of Forgiveness Psalm 32:1-11 A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. 1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. 2Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long. 4For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was…

FIRST IT’S THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE THE SO CALLED CHRISTIAN SAVIORS INFLICTED ON THEIR VICTIMS AND THOSE HEALED!. BUT, IT’S THE PSYCHOLOGICAL DAMAGE THROUGH CONSTANT BRAIN WASHING, INDOCTRINATION AND THE CONSTANT REPEATING THAT YOU ARE NOT WORTHY AND TO BEG FOR GORGIVENESS FROM AN INVISIBLE MADE UP GOD THAT NEVER HEALS FOR SOME AND THEY BECOME “ GOOD CHRISTIANS”!

It is necessary to learn that you are worthy of being loved. Buddha put it quite simply: “You can search the whole tenfold universe and not find a single being more worthy of love and compassion than the one seated here—yourself.” Self-compassion and self-forgiveness are not weaknesses, but the roots of our courage and magnanimity. Sometimes compassion for ourselves and others seems hard to find. But even if you lose touch with these feelings during your most intense suffering, compassion is an essential part of our true nature. In fact, it is in this self-compassion and self-love that you find the strength to carry a lamp through your darkest nights. And it is by first practicing self-compassion that you find not only a way to hold your own struggles and sorrows in your heart—but through them you learn how to connect with the sufferings and sorrows of all those around.
— Jack Kornfield

The more I think about it, the more likely I find it that Edgar winds up a contract killer/bounty hunter in an earth setting, because he's so hungry for that cycle of murder and feeding while also concealing his true nature to those he gives a shit about. It's the perfect double life for someone like Edgar. I'm just worried it's been done too many times to make it interesting, but it truly fits him without feeling contrived or cliche at all--

BETWEEN THE ORANGE GROVES, by Nadia Marks, Pan Macmillan Publishers
BETWEEN THE ORANGE GROVES, by Nadia Marks, Pan Macmillan Publishers
Tumblr media
In a small village, set among the wild mountains of Cyprus, two families of different faiths share a seemingly unbreakable friendship based on mutual respect and deep affection. Mothers and daughters share their daily secrets, fathers and sons support each other as they live their lives between the fragrant pine trees and orange groves. It’s here that two boys, Lambros and Orhan, grow up side by…

"Apo on the Wall"
"Apo on the wall" written by Bj Patino. The poem talks about the time of Martial Law. Happened when the Proclamation no.1081 was signed by Ferdinand Marcos. The start of our Country's nightmare. Ruling people with power and authority, known for being the corrupt and brutal Dictator of the Philippines.“Apo on the wall” shows the real situation concerning with the different perspective between people of today and those who lived and experienced Martial law.
Especially for those people who doesn't know Ferdinand Marcos.
Lets talk about what are the like about this poem. I like how the persona show his curiosity about his father's boss. Being a young child wanting to aquire knowledge is a good thing, also I like how the author tells us to reflect from what happened in the past, what the Filipinos experienced and how traumatizing experience for those who lived at that time. What makes it special is the intriguing fact that the writer Bj Patino did not easily reveal the identity of Apo aside from being the boss of the child’s father.
This poem served as a mirror for those Filipinos who come across this period for them to look back and treasure the freedom they have now. It opened up my mind to see the non-imaginable condition the the Filipinos suffered. Making us rethink about the past and how lucky I am not to experience those horrible things.
Apo on the wall is like the light illuminating the whole picture behind the scenes of the real dark chapter in the Philippine history.
One of the lines that will really caught your attention is about the phrase “His eyes are following me like he was that scary Jesus in the hallway saying I know, I know what you are doing” in which Ferdinand Marcos is like Jesus who knows everything we do because of his power.
There's also this message from the poem that we need to reach ourselves the habit of seeking out multiple perspectives. Everyone really needs to fully understand the overall view. We mustn’t settle from limited sources of information to the point that what we see is what we believe. With regards to the present, President Rodrigo Duterte as all we know, declared martial law in Mindanao and There is no problem to that unlike before during Marcos regime but what makes me feel sad is that what if President Duterte emulate the martial law just like in Marcos time, we’ll taste the wrath just like before and no one want that to be repeated.
Some people still Idolizes the Former President Marcos even knowing what happened in the past.
We don't have the right to judge them just like how Marcos precidency do on the Filipinos when he abused his power. For me, this poem also taught us to forgive, we should accept all those things that happened in the past. Nothing will happen because it already happened.
We should gorgive but not forget what the Dictator do, Inorder to make progress and if I will giva a score from a scale of 1 - 10 I'd rate it around 9.
See you nexttime Ja Nee~
