"Orc cuisine is hilariously simple. While typically seen as violent and British, they actually only attack caravans or cities when spurned on by their 'ancient spirits.' As one who was saved by a traveling band of hunters, I took this time to learn more about them and their culture. They were hesitant at first but after I spoke with the chief, and hinted that I could maybe help them get better foods without the need for needless loss of their numbers, he told me their stories. They get signs from their ancestor spirits, typically when a hunting band (which keeps one oracle at all time to divine the wills of the ancestors) the signs of an attack are 'misfortune upon a location, deemed fit for attack.' Most common they say is broken carriages, lightning striking a town or in rare instances when they eat certain things near a location and one gets sick they deem it a cursed place that must be cleansed. Their foods are typically hunted beasts, cleaned and blessed with sacred herbs by the oracles and roasted over a flame. During festival times they take the more aromatic fruits and vegetables they've seen in caravans and stuff them into the beasts along with pouring alcohol on it while it cooks. The standard travel foods are, surprisingly, preserves of fruits and dried meats. I must say, as someone who partook in these preserves they would put my grandmother Granhilda's peach preserve to shame!"

From the travel guide of Milo Goldpen:

"Elves were a curiosity to a little Halfling like me. We had heard stories about them, they're tree huggers who attack anyone who enters a forest, they eat babies, they hate all folks except other elves. Turns out they only really hate humans. A group of them were hunting near my campsite when I met them and we actually traded a little (had to give up my last apple turnover to their leader but definitely was worth it.) Eerily similar to orcs they hunt for most of their food, but that's kind of where the similarities end. Their main diets are lean meats from small game, nuts and berries for travel rations, and once I got to their village and was treated to a small feast from my new friends, lots of fish and grain. It seems that for long stretches of travel they make special food from compacted and steamed grains and fire roasted fish, seasoned with the local herbs in the area and of course they replant everything they take. From this I can kind of infer that the tastes of each village will actually vary wildly. As far as the Goldleaf group I have the pleasure of being with, in times where hunting is not needed (usually only when the beasts they raise have a low population) rich flavors of garlic and rosemary are the primary flavors. I'm excited to interact with more elves!"
