Nancy Drew in California Dreaming, Part 4
Geoff Summers, breathing hard as he stood on the sidewalk glaring at Nancy, looked to his left and then to his right. Nancy could see that the young man had no intention of discussing the forged and stolen art with her or with anyone else. She noted with satisfaction however that to Summers’ right were the densely hedged gardens belonging to Bradley’s Bohemian well-to-do, and to his left was the busy highway, filling up now with rush hour traffic. The girl sleuth smiled smugly at the increasingly desperate looking man. “You can’t escape, Mr Summers,” the young woman told him, “so you may as well talk to me.”
“Go to hell, witch!” Summers suddenly exclaimed and with that, he turned around and ran off, back down the street the way he had come. Nancy, momentarily nonplussed, watched him flee in some surprise, but the girl detective soon rallied her thoughts and set off in pursuit. “Stop!” she called out after him. “You’re only making it worse for yourself! You haven’t a chance!” But Geoff took no notice, and continued to run down the boulevard, with the red-haired girl close behind.
To be continued.

The Clue Of The Stone Seat by Andrew G Paul (2024)
Chapter 15: The Stone Seat’s Secret Revealed!
“…and so you see, Mr Rogers,” Kannika explained, “the Stone Seat of Mahakala was never the hiding place of the treasure. That was the Temple of Nargarjuna, twenty miles from here. If you knew your Siamese history, you would know King Sanphet I transferred the jewels there in 1568, shortly before his death. You have been digging in the wrong place!”
Rogers glared the Chailai Academy sixth former, inwardly fuming at the girl detective’s precocious arrogance. “Don’t patronise me, young lady.” he said sourly. “The Pakrett Scrolls clearly identify the Seat of Mahakala as the hiding place. Sanphet was bluffing!” Kannika shook her head solemnly. “The university have already been to the Temple and retrieved the artefacts.” she told the exasperated man. “Your attempt to steal this vital part of my country’s heritage is over! The Antiques Division of the Bangkok police department wish to speak to you - especially after seeing the evidence of your wrong doing I sent them this morning.” The schoolgirl sleuth stood up then. “I suggest you confess your crimes to me, sir. It will go easier for you if you do.” The crooked archaeologist stared at the young woman, resentment blazing from his eyes. “Curse you, you interfering little wench!” he blurted out bitterly.
***
A broken man, Rogers confessed everything to Kannika, implicating not only himself but also the crooked dealers and researchers who had aided his theft attempt. After he had finished, the girl tied Rogers’ wrists together securely behind him with the length of rope she had brought for that very purpose, and then sat him down on the Stone of Mahakala. As the sound of wailing sirens drew closer, the Chailai Academy Detective folded her arms and looked down on her unhappy bound captive, who remained in miserable silence, staring at the ground. “This is as close as you will ever get to Sanphet’s treasure, Mr Rogers.” she told the captured man, a note of proud satisfaction in her voice.

The Chase
The Dana Girls gave chase. Fair haired Louise was faster than her sister and, as it turned out more pacy than her quarry too. The man fled away from the door of the vicarage, illuminated by a street lamp and went to vault the low fence separating the house from the sidewalk and Louise caught him there. The girl sleuth flung herself at the intruder and the two grappled against the fence. Although stronger than his pursuer, the man was unable to fling the tenacious young woman off, who clung to his jacket determinedly. Then Louise heard the clip-clop of female heeled shoes sounding on the pavement hurrying towards them. She saw the man’s expression change from desperate fury to despair. “Hold on, sis!’ she heard Jean’s voice sound across the night air. “I’m coming!” The fugitive tried one last time to throw the detective off, but Louise held firm and as Jean arrived to seize his arms too, he sighed in disgust and gave up his struggle, bowing his head in defeat.
Louise wanted to make sure. “Do you surrender?” she demanded of the prisoner. He did not reply as such but nodded glumly. Still holding the man tightly, Louise turned to her dark haired sister. “Do you have a key to the vicarage, Jean?” she asked her. “Of course.” her sibling replied. “Go and open up.” said Louise briskly. “And find something we can use to tie this fellow up. We need to make sure he can’t make another run for it before we question him. Jean nodded then hurried towards the door of the house, her pink dress shimmering in the luminous moonlight as she went. Louise shifted her position to put the man in a firm, but not too painful, armlock with both her hands. “Let’s go!” she ordered her miserable-looking captive who shuffled ahead of her along the path to the very vicarage from which he had emerged so suspiciously.
My interpretation of the story behind the cover to The Secret At The Gatehouse, The Dana Girls Mystery Stories #9 (1940).

A new reason for why Young Justice is all 17 and not aging. They started a Dionysus-style cult centered around Cassie to see if they could make her into a Goddess, and it worked. In return, she made them all her immortal companions'.

demanding a series in the same vein (heh, vein) as Dexter/Hannibal wherein a prolific serial killer plays cat & mouse with the police--except the serial killer in question is a preteen schoolgirl. this would make for compelling television due to the fact that middle school frequently causes girls to become deranged, and more media should reflect this

"what does kim even see in harry" Imagine you've spent 43 years on this earth becoming a jaded, bitter man who has come to the conclusion that good things just don't happen to people like you. you lock yourself into your own body and mind in order to just be able to get by and to get the slightest bit of respect from the people around you. you're completely resigned to your own fate as an unhappy, lonely little man. and then the weirdest guy you've ever seen, a complete disaster of a human being parachutes in from the moon and looks at you with absolute wonder in his eyes and tells you with complete sincerity that he thinks you're legitimately the coolest person alive, and he wants to know everything about you, and instead of being repulsed or thrown off by what he finds he's endlessly fascinated and just wants to know more. And also he has huge biceps. Would you not lose your mind a little

Nancy Drew in California Dreaming, Part 3
Nancy whirled just as the man following her had nearly caught her up. The girl sleuth had learned that often in situations like these, attack was the best form of defence: the majority of bullies and thugs who were endlessly trying to put the frighteners on her, or to kidnap her during her adventures, were distinctly discomfited when an attractive slim 20-year old young woman launched herself with ferocity at them - particularly, as in this case, there was only one of them.
Before her stalker knew what was happening, Nancy had rushed forward and seized him by the collar of his tee shirt. “Geoff Summers, I assume?” she yelled angrily in his face. The startled young man backed away but Nancy refused to release him and the two stood there grappling in the deserted sun- drenched street. At last the man pulled away. “Yes!” he blurted out, Then Nancy, thinking on her feet, changed her tactics. “Then you and I have a lot of talking to do, Mr Summers!” the detective told him firmly.

dead boy detectives was very fun but they sure are not sixteen. on no planet are any of them sixteen. the show was so completely uninterested in them being sixteen too. yeah these two girls are sixteen, yeah they live alone, and rent their own apartments, and never go to school why would they? funniest thing by far.

With your Gosho Boys AU, what are the Gosho Girls up to? Equally crazy shenanigans?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this ask been sitting in my inbox for so long *holds head*
incredibly unrealistic im giving everyone crazy aspiration while being a college student here but whatever made up so many things but IF i am trying to make gag comic with the girlies i suppose it be something like this!! the boys got mysteries as something in common so i had to make up something them :)
I can't find where but theres an interview where gosho mentioned that ran's future has already been decided and foreshadowed. A theory someone made from this is Ran will be an actor (based on that episode where Makoto got hired as an actor) and then retires when she gets married to Shinichi to parallel Yuusaku and Yukiko. NGL i absolutely hate that retiring your successful career for a man part but whatever. Aoyama the misogyny king what else is new. What i'm trying to say is Ran that stars in a commercially successful Black Widow etc etc
