It was the softest thudding that had you stirring in your sleep. With the constant change in your body temperature, shivering in one moment, then sweating the next, you were at the point where you were about to give up on sleep. Hearing soft whispers, a baby voice you recognized, followed by a deeper one, you tried making out what they were saying but it was too muffled. Blinking a few times, eyeing it with confusion, your vision cleared as your focus settled on the small flower held by the animal's teeth.

A daisy?

Removing the blanket that had you wrapped up like a burrito, you reached a hand out to gently pet the rabbit before grabbing the flower. Studying it, your eyes shifted towards the small animal as another hopped up next to it, carrying another daisy. Carefully sitting up, slightly groaning from the aches throughout your body, you noticed a dozen or so more bunnies that sat around the floor of your shared bedroom. All holding daisies by their little teeth.

Trailing them and noticing they lead out of the bedroom, a smile grew on your lips as your son stood there. His five year old self holding a bouquet of flowers, yellows and whites that caught your eye as your heart suddenly felt heavy. "Hi, Gumi..."

"Hi, mama," he waved, "papa said I have to stay here so I don't get sick, too."

Letting out a small laugh, you nodded. You definitely didn't want your little boy getting sick, too. "Was this all your idea?" You asked, gesturing towards all the rabbits that sat around your bedroom.

"Mhm!" He eagerly nodded."Papa helped me pick the flowers from the garden! I had my shiki..." Standing there, Megumi tried remembering how to pronounce the word he was looking for. His little eyebrows furrowed before he gasped and continued, "my shikigami! I had my shikigami help me bring them to you since I can't get close."

Feeling your eyes well up with tears as your nose began to tingle, you reached for your box of tissues as you blew your nose. Your son was the most precious thing in the world... how were you so blessed to have a baby boy with such a beautiful heart like his? "Thank you, Gumi... Mama wishes she could give you a big hug and endless smooches."

Slightly blushing, Megumi looked away, "mama can do it when she feels better..." His little mumbled voice made your heart do things. Oh, how you hated being sick! You just wanted to grab your son and smother him with kisses!

Sighing as you sat back against the headboard of your bed, you wore the softest smile as you eyed the flower you held in your hand. "Where's papa?" You asked.

"Was settin' up a tea for you," Toji said as he popped up behind Megumi, towering over his son as he held a mug in his hand. You couldn't help but chuckle at the sight: your boy matched his father, in similar white sweaters, black pants, their sock covered feet... and white face masks. Megumi got 100% of his DNA from his father, a pure carbon copy. Not that you complained, you loved that your son was his father's mini me, the perfect duo. Though, you were glad he had more of your personality than anything.

"What's so funny?" Megumi asked as he tilted his head.

"You two are so cute, did you purposefully match?" You asked as your son hugged the bouquet closer to his chest, his timidness kicking in.

Grinning, Toji used his free hand to pat his son's head, "it was this little bug's idea. He saw how I was dressed and grabbed his pants and sweater to match while I made myself coffee. Then he asked if we could pick some flowers for you from the garden."

Frowning, you coughed a bit before looking away, "I hate being sick... I want to hug you two so bad..."

"Ah, don't worry," Toji said as he carefully walked amongst the rabbits, handing you the mug as he pressed the back of his hand against your forehead. The slight chill from the wedding band on his finger made you shiver as he checked you. "You're still a bit hot, but not as bad as last night."

"You don't think I'm really hot?" You mumbled with a pout, earning a laugh from Toji.

He lowered his mask enough to kiss your forehead before he muttered, "you're the hottest woman alive" in your ear, earning a giggle from you.

"Papa! You can get sick!" Megumi called out as Toji sighed.

Stepping back and lifting his hands in defense, he shook his head, "my bad. Can't get sick or else Megs won't have anyone to play with him—"

"That's not why!" Megumi called out, causing Toji to smirk.

"What? You won't be able to take care of your old man and your mom?" He asked as he looked at his son, Megumi's eyes widened as you lifted the mug to your lips to hide your smile.

"I'm too small! I can't reach the medicine shelf!" He defended himself, causing Toji to laugh as he walked over to Megumi and lifted him up, kissing his headful of messy hair.

"I'm just messin' with you, bud," taking the bouquet and walking back over to your side to settle them on your nightstand, you gave him a small thank you. "Don't forget to take your medicine, okay?" Toji nudged his head towards the pile of on your bedside, cough drops and other products to help you recover faster. "We need you to feel better soon."

Saluting as you took the last few sips from your tea, you settled the daisy and brought one of the bunnies to your chest, "for now, I'll cuddle them since I can't cuddle my little Gumi bear."

"Wait!" Megumi exclaimed before he peeked over his father's shoulder. "Kuro! Shiro!"

Watching as the pair of pups rushed in, you smiled as they instantly sat at Toji's feet. "Are they also going to keep me company?"

"Mhm!" Megumi nodded. "So you don't feel alone!" Gesturing for the pups to join you on the bed, you welcomed the pair as they cuddled against you. "They will also protect you..." he said as if it were something to keep hushed. A small giggle left you as Toji couldn't help but grin at his son and his pure way of being.

"Alright, let's leave your mother to be so she can get some more sleep." Toji said as he patted Megumi's back. "If you need anything, just call for me."

"Okay," you nodded as he took the now empty mug from your hand. "Thank you for everything."

"Always," with a wink, Toji walked away with your son in his arm, waving goodbye as you buried yourself deeper into your warm sheets and the shikigami that surrounded you.

A preview to the third part to my gojo fic. Sorry, it took so long to get out.

"Hey wanna play a drinking game? We could all name the things we love about Satoru Gojo!" He suggests like he always does when alcohol is on the table

He's as polite as ever as he walks down the sidewalk to his own car. Somehow you swear Nanami came into the world with good manners and matching clothes on. Seriously, how do all of his outfits always look good?

"It's all those sweets he eats. He's probably secretly 900lbs or something." You groan, "Megumi are you even supporting your side?"

"Ha!" You laugh as you watch Satoru slowly make his way up the steps by rabbit back.

"Should they put him on the bed?" Megumi asked

You think about it for a moment. Drunk Satoru was always cuddly but he often vomited and you didn't want to clean that up.

"Just...leave him on the floor at the foot of our bed." You suggest

(Technically Megumi and Itadori always join along with Nobara's shopping trips. Itadori goes along for fun of it + knick knacks + food and ends up having to carry all of Nobara's bags.

Megumi silently goes along, looks at a few things, shies away from attention as much as possible, before strolling through the pet store and buying nothing. Itadori often takes a break and joins Megumi for a little while before the trio meets up again.)

This time she had to drag along Itadori, and she told Megumi he had to help.

Insert an entire fashion montage. (If you know more about fashion than I do please let me know ideas)

Itadori eventually has to deal with his indeciveness, making a decision for himself....

... or he pretends to like whatever Nobara recommends after a lot of 'I don't see what's wrong with hoodies!' (depending on the trajectory I guess... if this is cannon compliant it would be this option.)

Nobara huffs. "Gojo picked your uniform, that's what's wrong! We're not letting that idiot chose your style." She pauses. "Chose something for yourself for once."

Itadori, not wanting to confront this, not minding others making decisions for him, never wanting to acknowledge his own decisions... or lack of them, randomly picks a hawaiian shirt.

Nobara scoffs. "That?!"

Itadori sighs. "I thought you said I could chose?"

"That...is actual garbage. Itadori, I will not be associated with actual garbage. Have some self-respect."

(Sukuna laughs, somewhere in the recesses.)

Megumi narrowly avoids getting a fashion show himself after buying a shoes to appease Nobara ('I'm using Gojo's credit card so we're all getting something! Even you Fushiguro!")

Itadori hides from Nobara with him. "She isn't satisfied with anything because 'I'm just going along with what she's saying'"

Fushiguro nods, looking at rabbit treats. "You did this to yourself."

Itadori wants to change the subject, almost asks Fushiguro why he comes to pet stores without buying anything....

Nobara bursts through the doors, and the store seems to darken with her entrance. Itadori yelps and tries to hide behind Fushiguro. Fusiguro is also trying to hide. A lot of hiding. None of it sucessful.

(Itadori isn't used to being on the receiving end of this. Usually him and Nobara tease Fusiguro together. He kind of hates this switch of dynamics.... He's supposed to help people. Not be helped.)

Nobara drags Itadori (and Fushiguro has to follow along because now people are staring.) back to the stores... where they bump into none other than:

"So my credit card didn't get stolen. Great news!"

(Gojo knew since the beginning and just came along now because he's having a rough - *cough* lonely and thinking about Suguru *cough* - day)

and from here......

I'd imagine that there would be another 'episode' where Gojo offers to help Nobara find the Bakery Saori liked (because he's the 'self-certified expert on sweets and sweet places').

Meanwhile Itadori and Fushiguro get to have some ~quality bonding time~ (I really really like Itadori and Fusiguro's morality dilemmas, so probably something about that... and maybe they get a bunny or smth. Just saying.)

Won’t admit that he likes being little spoon, but he gets happy when u can just… tell he wants to be held.

Very light fluttery touches, like he’s scared of messing up

Loves it when you grab his hand yourself and intertwine fingers

he doesn’t wanna seem clingy, but when he’s too tired to care, expect him to hold you like a koala and bury his head in your shoulder.

He’ll give you back hugs and hold you cause he just likes it a lot…

Gets flustered when you two hug normally, he usually looks down but when you grab his face he will! blush!!

Will watch you with the lightest smile.

Kisses your hand when no ones looking

He really likes to do secret kisses, like on your neck or the top of your head, he likes not letting you know where he’s gonna kiss all the time!

Comb through his hair and he will pass away

Poor guy, he doesn’t get touched enough, if you comb your hands through his hair he will sigh really loud and lean into your touch, but then get embarrassed for getting too relaxed with you.

If you embarrass him too much he stuffs his head into his pillow and groans until his blush is gone.

He whispers “I love you” when you sleep/ cuddle

I’m sure he’s cold too, so he’s always blowing on his fingers until you stuff his hands into your pockets.

If you both have cold hands expect the both of you to have a war on who gets to be warmed up first.

You would probably place ur cold feet on his back while he puts his hands on your neck❤️ the both of y’all need to invest in a heater

This Giant yeti man will trick you into being big spoon.

He’ll act like he will hold you from behind, but as soon as you get into the bed his back is facing you. Turning his head to see if you’ll hold him

He likes it cause he feels secure, you have a good hold on him, makes him feel like a baby

Idk he will probably want you to pet his face/ massage it but will randomly stick your fingers in his mouth. :/

no one asked for that...he just grabs your fingers and rams them into his mouth and acts like he did nothing when he takes them out...

Rarely puts his hands on you, I don’t think his language is touch but when he does I’m sure he’d rest his hand on your head or hips

whenever megumi is not on missions, you always come to hang out at his dorm. he prefers having you over at his place rather than going to yours and gojo's because he likes staying in and at the same, having some alone time with you.

but also because he's too uncomfortable or shy to be able showcase his soft or affection side to you whenever others are around, especially gojo. megumi dislikes your father-figure's teasing. he knows gojo will snap pictures of you and him bonding together and tell his friends how he is such a big softie to you.

staying in with megumi includes him treating you by ordering food that you two agree on and enjoy. he always makes sure to give you food that is more than the other.

as you two eat the food he ordered, he lets you watch whatever you want. you wanna watch barbie movies with him? of course! as long as it was you who requested it. because if it were nobara and yuji, they would have to beg him or make negotiations with him first.

though megumi doesn't really like watching children's movies or shows, he does find it fun whenever he does it with you. he likes listening to you ramble about whatever you two were watching.

"preminger's the bad guy! he's stealing all the gold."

you accusingly point out a finger at the screen as you hardened a glare at the character. unbeknownst to you, your older brother megumi was looking at you in amusement with a smile.

"yeah, he's emptying the mines." megumi proceeds to comment, which you nod in agreement with.

"the queen is not going to be happy when she finds that and his scheme out!" you say adorably with your cheeks all puffed up as megumi nods and quietly laughs.

asides from watching shows and eating, you two draw together with the paper and coloring materials that gojo packed you. it mostly ends up with you just watching megumi draw his shikigamis because he's actually quite good at sketching them.

speaking of shikigamis, you're obsessed with them. especially his divine dog and rabbits. megumi summons them just as you had requested and you just love petting and holding them. he even lets you ride on the back of nue or his divine dog.

"what a good dog!"

you exclaim, patting the black divine dog it wagged it's tail before wrapping your arms around its fluffy torso to give it a hug.

megumi was really grateful that you were very gentle in handling his shikigamis.

though megumi prefers to stay in, he doesn't mind going out with you. he just hopes he doesn't run into someone he knows.

whenever you two go out, megumi makes sure he holds your hand and keep a keen eye on you since you were notorious for disappearing and running off to who knows where. he also knows how scary gojo can be, so he can't afford losing you in public.

if you ever get tired of walking, all you have to do is just tug his sleeve or pant leg, make grabby hands and megumi will carry you. he doesn't mind it all, so you don't have to be shy.

"gumi-nii.. up-up, please?" :(

"sure, come here." :D

if ever wanna do zoomies or play a game of chase with him at the park or an open place of sort, megumi will gladly let you or play with you but he reminds you to never run off too far as he watches over you and he makes sure your shoes are tied because he doesn't want you to trip and fall.

megumi also has a water bottle and snack on hand in case you get thirsty or hungry from playing outside. he also has extra clothes for you and first aid in case you ever need it. he likes to be prepared. (ya'll better give this young man his responsible older brother award 👏)

megumi takes you to pet shops to look at animals. he also likes the fact that he gets to explain and introduce you to animals that you aren't quite familiar with.

"oh! what's that animal, gumi-nii?"

"that's a guinea pig and they are rodents. think of them as bigger hamsters."

"that's so cool! what about that one?"

"that's an axolotl, it's a salamander. an amphibian."

asides from pet shops, he either takes you to an arcade or toy stores. which ever it is, expect getting a prize or stuffed toy that megumi had played or paid for. as long as he sees you wanting that cute plushie or trinket, he will get it for you. your brother loves to spoil you just as much as gojo and tsumiki does.

after a long day, he likes to top it off with just napping with you as you two wait for gojo to pick you up. megumi enjoys your company and the silence, but he gets really embarrassed when he wakes up to find out that gojo had stolen a picture and uploaded it.

megumi always looks forward to spending a day with you :)

just being around you and your bubbly, sweet energy is enough to make his exhaustion and stress from missions go away. it also makes him very happy that he gets to bond and establish a close relationship with his baby sibling.

he just settled with talking to you in the courtyard

was so shocked when he found out that you thought he hated you

so he just really quickly said stuff like "really? I promise I didn't mean it like that" or "sorry it wasn't like that"

and he got so nervous and kinda scared at the thought of you disliking him

that was just too sweet, you had to say yes

I wouldn't say he's super vocal about your relationship or too into pda, but if you hold his hand he will literally melt

“I just think it’s rude,” Yuuji complains, quite justifiably in his opinion. Above him, Megumi flops back against his bed and huffs into his hands, finally giving up on the book he’s been trying to read as he ignores Yuuji’s pleas. It seems he might finally be on the edge of surrender though, so Yuuji decides one more push should do the trick.

“You’re ridiculous,” Megumi mumbles for the umpteenth time; Yuuji’s actually pretty impressed that he’s refused this long. It’s not an uncommon debate between them. He wonders why he’s being so stubborn all of the sudden.

“You’re the ridiculous one! Unlimited access to cuddles with cute animals whenever you want but you refuse to summon them unless it’s for work.” He tips his head back from his seat on the floor to pout up at him, though it’s futile seeing as Megumi’s resolutely refusing to meet his gaze. “You know what they say about all work and no play.”

“My shikigami are not pets,” he argues weakly, chancing a look at Yuuji from between his fingers which he appears to immediately regret if the long, drawn out groan he muffles against his palms is anything to go by. Yuuji grins, triumphant; he knew his puppy eyes would sway his boyfriend eventually, he just needed to make eye contact.

“You’re spoiling them,” he grumbles even as he creates the sign for Divine Dog. Yuuji cheers, wrapping his arms around the dog’s neck as it crawls out from under the bed to lay in his lap, tail thumping happily against the floor. A few rabbits appear next, hopping out from the partially-closed closet to settle against Yuuji’s available thigh. He coos at them, running his fingers through their soft fur.

It’s Megumi’s turn to pout (though he’d never admit that’s what it is). Despite his earlier declarations, he flips onto his stomach to reach over the side of the bed so he can ruffle the fur atop Divine Dog’s head. “I’m starting to think you’re only dating me to get to them.”

“Aww, don’t be jealous! I still love you best.” To prove it, Yuuji drops a chaste kiss against the edge of Megumi’s jaw, beaming at the rush of pink that blooms over his cheeks like watercolor.

There’s a comfortable silence for a moment as Megumi tries to regain his composure while Yuuji showers the shikigami with endless pats and scratches. He makes a disappointed noise in his throat when they begin to fade back into shadow after only a few minutes.

Before he can complain, Megumi demands, “Prove it then.”

Brows furrowed with confusion, he questions, “Prove what?”

“That you love me best.”

Laughter bubbles up in his chest at the petulant tone; so he 𝘸𝘢𝘴 jealous. Delighted, Yuuji gets to his knees and turns around to face Megumi, who’s lying on his back again with his head hanging over the side of the mattress, gaze haughty and expectant.

It’s only fair, he supposes. So, cupping Megumi’s face between his hands, Yuuji obediently leans in to murmur against his smiling lips, “If you insist.”

note(s): soooo, it has been a while, but we have arrived to part 3 of this little au. idk how many in total there will be but i am thankful to those of you who stuck aorund during the mini break !! mentions of the zenin family bc these mfs can’t give this little family a break ig (they don’t actually make an appearance here) + an appearance of a few four legged friends. (also should i make a tag list for this one, i genuinely didn’t think this would get the reception it did but thank you very much!!)

megumi was a fairly low maintenance kid, which was something both you and toji were immensely grateful for. he never cried, never really threw a tantrum, and if he had ever done any of those things, it was always for a good reason.

which was why when you woke up that morning, the small dreadful feeling in the back of your mind never went away. you were off today, and toji had “work” today. and while he never talked about what he had done in the full nitty gritty details, you had enough context to know it was more or less in the grey area of legality. (that and siwoo had promised that it wasn’t bad).

you shrug on a thin cardigan, with a slightly muffled yawn, as you head to megumi’s room, the boy still sleeping, barely visible due to cocooning himself in his blankets, save for some tufts of messy black hair sticking out.

no matter what you or toji had tried, his hair was always chaotic at best and downright untamable at worst.

and as if sensing you were in the room, he begins to stir, as you hear a soft yawn before he peers up at you from his little blanket cocoon.

“morning,” is said in a soft whisper.

“morning to you too,” you respond, “how do you feel about pancakes for breakfast?”

usually the offer of fluffy pancakes doused in syrup would no doubt have even the calm boy rushing to get up, but at his lack of reaction you raise an eyebrow in concern.

“gumi?”

he yawns again, slowly sitting up, “i’m okay, still sleepy.”

you nod, stepping through the doorway and playing with the sleeve’s hem of your sweater, “feeling okay?”

he nods.and he seems to be considering something before he shakes his head, slowly stepping onto the floor and leaving the blanket behind him.

you ruffle his hair, only getting a small frown that doesn't have any real heat behind it, “alright, i’ll let you get dressed, but if you’re not feeling well…”

“i’m fine i pinky swear.”

“oh you pinky swear huh? sounds serious, okay. i’ll believe you.”

and like that you wrap your pinky around his, and in turn, exit the bedroom, and making your way to the kitchen.

megumi was, for the most part, panicking. he had carefully tucked the blankets underneath the scuffling animals but he couldn’t trap them on his bed forever.

the best scenario was either you or his dad coming into the room and seeing what he had hoped you two would believe are stuffed animals, but the worst case scenario was seeing a small petting zoo of white rabbits all over.

he holds his head, maybe practicing so early in the morning wasn't the best idea...

but then he hears your voice calling him and the rabbits, as he doesn’t realize are extensions of himself, stand on their hind legs, noses sniffing the ear and only becoming more excited once they hear you, before jumping around.

megumi panics.

the last pancake is flipped, returning to the hot pan just so that it can brown a little further. you take the dish already with a stack for the two of you to share and bring it to the table, your own cup of coffee in your spot, steam still rising slightly.

you hear megumi’s footsteps, and then little thumps. you raise an eyebrow. immediately ruling out that it wasn’t the worm, as toji had brought it along with him.

‘just in case,’ he had said yesterday evening, before leaving. he’d probably be back if not even a bit later in the day, you’d probably save him some, probably.

the thumps continued.

“megumi?” you call. no response, but the thumps continue. so you do what you always planned at the idea of someone breaking into your home (or even god forbid it was your husband’s relatives, you think with a shudder), you decide to go and check it out.

you call him again.

only a rushed answer is your response, you check that the pan is off of the burner and everything is off, before heading to your son’s room.

when one goes to their child’s room, sure you expect a mess, after all, you don’t expect it to be flawless or anything. but you certainly do not expect the sight you’re currently seeing. well, of the several sights really.

some of megumi’s books scattered on the floor, a plush thrown in one side of the room and another near the door as it bounces off of your foot, his bed was in complete disarray, with blankets and pillows strewn about and you have to consider anything but feather pillows with the amount floating in the air. your eyes grow wide as you survey the room one more time.

rabbits, like living breathing, rabbits, everywhere. while you’re no sorcerer, swearing away from that, especially with toji and his former career choice. not that you blamed him.

“i don’t know what to do,” is a quiet murmur as megumi looks around at the animals excitedly moving around his room.

inklings of your own childhood training have you kneeling before him, taking his hands in your own. giving him the reassurance you hadn’t received.

“it’s okay,” you say, “just take a deep breath, can you do that for me?”

a shaky nod.

“it’s okay, you’ll be alright.”

you swear you hear him whimper as you hug him tight. your hold around him tightens, you and your husband had to have a chat when he came home.

“now come on, we have some fluffy pancakes waiting for us.”

toji likes to think he’s a collected person. never letting anyone under his skin and never showing any sort of reaction.

but when the worm lifts its head from the perch on his collarbone, and hisses in the direction of your apartment building, he’s fully alert. the cup of espresso (which he totally blames on you for getting him addicted by the way) left abandoned on some trash can. he wasn’t a neanderthal after all.

an incredulous sigh left his mouth, someone really had the guts to go after you two, hm? well, at least he would make sure they’d regret it.

only, he doesn’t expect the sight he’s welcomed to. the front doorway was empty, that wasn’t unusual, yours and the kiddo’s shoes were there. but the poignant silence was just a bit disquieting.

you scramble over, your arms holding shapes he couldn’t even see, your mouth ajar with surprise.

“oh hey honey!” you’re out of breath, adjusting your arms for what you were holding, “i didn’t hear you come in, uh, are you hungry? we have some leftover pancakes...”

you’re not sure if his laughter is directed towards you, or at the way you carefully look at the ground while trying not to step on something, familiarity of their master’s other parent gaining their curiosity. while on your end you’re saving the mental image of the rabbits sniffing and running around your man curiously.

but the atmosphere breaks when your expression becomes slightly serious, “it’s his technique, that’s the zenin’s isn’t it..?”

toji is silent, his lips thin, eyes unreadable and you feel your worst suspicions confirmed.

“toji.”

“yes, it is.”

the walk past the small living area is silent, you both walk past your son, who’s already settled onto the couch with the remainder of the little animals, watching a cartoon. at least you were certain the conversation would be in private then.

you were no stranger to the way jujutsu families worked. the only thing you could be grateful for was the lack of prominence of your family. but the zenin? they were on a very different level, and not in a good way.

while the both of you had made it a thing to simply ignore your families and their ties to sorcery, megumi’s technique soon made you both realize that mistake, and that it had to be rectified immediately.

hurried whispers were exchanged between the two of you. your hand trembled, your brother did owe you a favor…

sensing your train of thought, toji grabs your hand, “we aren’t giving them the satisfaction,” he says easily, as if deciding what you both were going to make for dinner and not something that could potentially damn megumi’s future given his inherited technique.

you purse your lips, about to speak when you notice the door slightly ajar. megumi, your usually nonplussed child, looked between you both while his hands nervously fiddle with the hem of his shirt, one of the small bunny rabbits pawing at his shoe, trying to comfort him in some way, the sight makes your heart squeeze painfully.

“it’s my fault,” is no question, and before you can assure him otherwise, toji already is kneeling before him, a rare tenderness in his eyes reserved for very few, his hand resting on top of the boy’s unruly hair.

“no, not your fault kid, it will never be your fault,” his eyes widen in surprise when he feel’s smaller arms wrap around him in a tight hug, usually teasing the messy haired child for such a show of affection, toji wisely kept quiet. instead, he stands, son in his arm while another gives your hand a squeeze.

despite your uncertainties, you know that deep down you were all going to get through this together, somehow.

and when your son crawls in between you both later at night, burrowing underneath the blankets, there is no protest from you both, instead, megumi falls asleep better with the two of you holding onto him a little tighter.

in the morning, you realize that maybe the numerous rabbits were not the problem, but instead it was the pair of dogs nearly pushing toji off of the bed, curled protectively around the young boy.

“is there more?” you ask megumi with a yawn, rubbing the white dog’s head gently as it leans into your hand.

the boy strugs, cuddling into his dogs for warmth and you can’t help but throw your head back and laugh.
