pairing: all members + fem!reader genres: fluff, headcanon, they're silly silly in love. warnings: none. word count: 1948.
author's note: if this headcanon seems familiar to you, it's likely because you came across it on my old blog (chacottone). i'm reposting it with a few changes.
( HEESEUNG ) Even though he's a terrible liar, he pretends not to know the basics of math just to hear you talk for hours. At times, you stumble over certain concepts, yet he subtly guides you towards the correct answers. Ultimately, he ends up aiding you more than you aid him, and upon realizing this, you say, "I feel so stupid! I'm teaching you everything wrong."
“Of course not, princess! You're smarter than you think," he protests, instinctively placing his hand atop yours. "We're mutually assisting each other, you see?"
You swallow hard, the warmth of his touch lingering as the endearing nickname 'princess' resonates in your mind. Taking command of the situation, Heeseung retreats slightly, straightening himself in the chair beside you. “So, what are we-i mean! where were we?"
"Analytical Geometry," you murmur, indicating a specific passage in the book and inadvertently brushing against Heeseung's fingertips as you withdraw your hand. He attempts to suppress a smile, but fails, turning his head to the side and nibbling on his lower lip.
( JONGSEONG ) No one can ever find out that Jay paid the class representative to pair him up with you on the chemistry project; that would be too embarrassing. If he wanted to spend time with you so badly, he could have just asked you out like a normal person. However, he thought it would be too difficult given your popularity and the numerous guys chasing after you. Jay had to be clever to get to know you better.
"So, about chemical kinetics, what kind of movies are you into?" he asks, acting as if what he just said made any sense. You raise an eyebrow at him, finding it amusing how Jay nervously bites his cheek.
"Romantic comedies, I suppose," you reply with a shrug.
"Cool! Did you know there's a romantic movie marathon next weekend?" he mentions, attempting to maintain a relaxed posture as he scribbles something in his small notepad.
“Actually, I wasn't aware of that," you say, tilting your head to the side. "Why the sudden interest? Planning on asking me out?" Your question catches Jay off guard, and you smile at the effect you have on him.
“Yes... I mean, if you're up for it... no-do you… want to go out with me?”
( JAEYUN ) Getting out of football practice was quite the ordeal for Jake, all because he didn't want to miss your study session at the library. With a physics test looming tomorrow, Jake didn't need to brush up on a subject he already had a firm grasp of. However, he understood your struggles in that area and how tough you could be on yourself when things didn't click. That's why he pretended to feel unwell to leave practice early and "coincidentally" ran into you at the library.
"Sure, you can sit here!" you exclaim, taken aback by his presence. "Thought you'd be at practice.”
"Left early to study for tomorrow's test,” Jake shrugs, pulling up a chair close to yours.
"As if you need it," you tease. "Your grades are always top-notch."
"Yeah, I know," he responds, placing a hand over his heart, oozing confidence, as you playfully nudge his shoulder. "But I meant that I wanted to study with you…"
Your cheeks flush almost instantly, and you try to mask your embarrassment by burying yourself in the book in front of you, murmuring a hesitant "okay, then.”
( SUNGHOON ) He's feeling like the cleverest guy in the world for persuading all his friends to help him orchestrate a plan to be alone with you. It took countless text messages pleading with Heeseung, Jake, Jay, Seonwoo, and Jungwon to create a study group — since that's the only way to catch your attention — and then have them all cancel at the last minute when Sunghoon and you are supposed to meet.
“They’re running late…” you remark, glancing at the clock for the umpteenth time since your arrival.
"They’re not coming anymore," Sunghoon announces matter-of-factly. "Seems like there was some unexpected issue.”
"An unexpected issue involving all five of them at once?!" you widen your eyes in disbelief. "That's so weird."
"Not really," he says, rearranging the books on the table. "These guys are pretty irresponsible when it comes to studying. They're probably off having fun somewhere.
With a furrowed brow and arms crossed, you mull over Sunghoon's statement. Then, an idea strikes you. "We should do the same thing, don't you think?"
Sunghoon promptly closes the book. "You're absolutely right."
"But we also need to do well on Friday's test…" Seeing you hesitate, Sunghoon quickly reassures you, as spending time with you outside of school is something he's been longing to do.
"You'll do great, don't worry," he confirms, "plus, we can always study tomorrow. The good thing is that everyone will come… I guess."
Still feeling nervous, you bite your lower lip, debating whether or not to skip a day of studying. However, Sunghoon's hopeful expression starts to bolster your confidence. "So, what do you want to do?" You ask.
"Jesus Christ! I literally have a list of things I wanna do with you—I mean! To do in this city!"
( SEONWOO ) Respectfully, Sunoo is fed up with hearing about the conservation of mass, but because you're the one explaining, he silently endures. Spending Saturday studying for a test he knows he'll fail wasn't part of his plan, but being with you was, even if it meant sacrificing a night off locked indoors.
"Are you paying attention?" you inquire, noticing your friend's absent-mindedness. "Am I just talking to myself here?"
Sunoo snaps back to attention at your words, attempting to mask his lack of focus when he sees your irritated expression. "I'm paying attention!" he insists.
"What did I just say, then?" you ask, arms folded.
"Um… you were talking about how mass is created and destroyed during a chemical reaction," Sunoo mimics your posture, speaking with false confidence.
You sigh, "I literally said the opposite."
"I got mixed up! I'm just tired…" he reaches out to touch your hand. "Let's do something else, hm?"
"Only after you get this right. Then we can do whatever you want," you state firmly, and your friend grins in agreement.
"You should've said that sooner!”
( JUNGWON ) Your failure in last week's oral exam was the perfect excuse for Jungwon to invite you to study with him. Obviously, the goal isn't just to learn about the properties and graphs of exponential and logarithmic functions; Jungwon truly wants to forge a connection with you.
"Want to make this more interesting?" Jungwon suggests, noticing your disinterest. "We study for fifteen minutes straight, then take a five minute break to get to know each other better.”
"You want to get to know me better?" you furrow your brow, surprised by what he just said. After all, Jungwon is the smart, popular guy everyone admires, so why would he want to get closer to someone like you? His invitation to study together already caught you off guard, but you assumed it was just a gesture of kindness.
"Of course I do!" he says confidently. "I've been wanting to be friends with you since you first arrived at school, but you've always kept to yourself.”
"I'm a bit... reserved," you admit, and Jungwon nods understandingly.
"But that doesn't stop me from wanting to get to know you."
Your cheeks flush, and despite your usual reluctance to open up about yourself, you agree to his proposal. "Sure, let's give it a try.”
( RIKI ) He's on the brink of failing, and you simply can't bear to see your best friend struggle. That's why you scheduled a study session at your house, which didn't sit well with Riki. The reason behind his dissatisfaction lies in the fact that you, indirectly, are to blame for his potential failure.
Every day, you sit facing Riki in class, and every day, he is battling to focus because your captivating perfume and mint lip gloss steal his attention. He gets lost in thoughts of you, and by the time he snaps out of it, class is over. So, under these circumstances, how can he possibly concentrate on whatever you're saying right now when you're so close?
"Do you understand what I said?" you ask, shifting your attention to your friend, who appeared to be listening attentively. "Hmm, seems like it. So, let's have a little quiz!”
Riki takes a deep breath, attempting to refocus on the main subject.
"What's the primary component of plant cells responsible for photosynthesis?" you ask, your tone serious.
"Mint lip gloss," he responds without thinking—or perhaps thinking too much, but about the wrong thing. "No! That's not what I meant to say."
You arch an eyebrow, realizing your friend must be weary from studying. "Need a break? We could play video games for half an hour and then get back to business! But be aware, I'll be tacking on extra study time for it," you warn, rising from your chair.
"I'm screwed.”

summary: Leo has only had you to himself in his dreams but he wants it to be different. He wants to be with you in reality, but he finds out that he always been.
warnings: none.

Things were weird, that was the only confirmation Leo had about his relationship with you. You didn't talk often, nor were usually close to each other, but since he started dreaming about you almost every night, he wanted to bridge the distance between you two. And it seemed like you felt it too.
The glances that you exchanged stopped being coincidences; you sought each other out whenever were within small meters of each other, but neither dared to take the first step. If you ever exchanged words for some reason, someone would interrupt shortly after.
Leo cursed every time he was about to invite you for a walk and someone called him. Why couldn't anyone leave you alone for a few more seconds? There were few times you could be like this.
Your activities kept you busy. The children of Hecate were like those of Athena (with books and very clever), except you all had magical powers and a mother who was split into three. Three times as demanding to ensure they used magic properly and didn't misrepresent it.
Leo knew you kept your mind busy with ancient books or locked in your cabin possibly trying to turn one of your siblings into an apple. And with no intention of being a fruit, he kept his distance.
One of those nights, he spotted you under a tree, repeating some things and twirling the feather in the air. Your silky hair fell over your shoulders, and the longer strands almost touched your elbow. Your legs were stretched out, and only the sunlight barely touched the tips of your toes.
When Leo took another step, a branch crunched under his foot, exposing him. You looked at him without any surprise and smiled at him, as if you were waiting for him, maybe because you really were.
Then, he felt confident to approach you; after all, if it was a dream, what harm could it do? He took a seat beside you, and you continued moving the feather that seemed to be from a pegasus, one of the many you find scattered in the camp stable.
Leo took you by the arm, startled by how real it felt, and his heart broke at the thought that you were just a product of his imagination. The sensation seemed to reach you, and you let the feather be carried away by the wind to turn towards him.
— Hey — Leo said with embarrassment in his voice. The situation seemed stupid to him; he rested his head on the trunk and let out a groan. — I can't believe I keep doing this. I'm a pervert.
Your laughter echoed in his ears, and you shook your head amusedly.
—Why would you say that?
— Because I'm dreaming about you! And you look so beautiful! Oh no. If you knew, you would stop talking to me, you would forever repudiate me for being a damn weirdo.
You laughed again and shook your head.
— You're a son of Hephaestus, machinery and things with a lot of geometry are your thing, right? Not this.
Leo frowned and stared at your face intently. His hand cradled your cheek, and he felt the warmth of your skin. He had never dared to touch you like that, or he would definitely become a weirdo and could never look you in the eye, but this was different.
You secured his grip with your hand and leaned towards him. Your eyes on his, you seemed to analyze each of his movements. Leo wanted to pull away, but he couldn't. He didn't want to, and he stayed still.
Your lips touched his, and Leo jumped back, then woke up bumping into the bed above him. The impact resonated throughout the Hephaestus cabin, but everyone remained asleep. Only his bunkmate complained in his sleep about the shake, and Leo rubbed his head.
He took a deep breath and let out a groan. —Damn!
He watched as you set up things for an offering, some candles, even Tarot cards. But it was your movements that seemed bewitching. Your sway and the murmurs his ears could barely pick up.
Sometimes you turned around to make sure everything was in order, and for moments, just moments, Leo thought he would be discovered. He held his breath, and his heart raced, but he never took his eyes off you. Why did he have to have this stupid idea? But he didn't care if he ended up as a guinea pig as Percy warned him; he wanted to keep watching you, catching every bit of your movements.
He looked at a pink candle and then honey. You took some roses and crushed them in the palm of your hand.
When you raised what looked like cinnamon, the air turned sweet, and Leo felt intoxicated, feeling close to the Elysian fields, but his willpower wouldn't let him rest until... Ugh.
He felt so bad for wanting to be with you, knowing how your real touch felt; it made him anxious and a little annoyed. He looked more closely through the wooden window shutter, and you were almost done. That's when he could see the figure on the small altar and held his breath. Aphrodite?
You started cleaning up, and he knew he had to leave; he couldn't be discovered. He turned around and saw Lou Ellen, with a smile and raised eyebrows.
— Did you find what you were looking for, smith?
Leo snorted and walked out onto the porch.
— Smith? But...
— I know, Leo — the look in her green eyes made his stomach churn. — Are you looking for my sister? I heard she was... busy.
Leo's brown eyes sparkled with curiosity.
— With what?
Lou chuckled, and the door swung open.
— Leo?
This time, he was about to throw up, but he couldn't do it in front of you.
He spun on his heels and gave you a stupid smile.
— Hey! I was just passing by, um... I heard Lou makes good pig bombs.
The daughter of Hecate opened her mouth, totally indignant, and pushed Leo towards you.
— Lie! Better tell her you came to see her.
Leo grumbled and looked at Ellen suspiciously.
You smiled with what seemed to the son of Hephaestus, smugness and intelligence. Your lips curved in a beautiful way, and small hairs stuck around your face, perhaps because of the slight sweat. "Was doing rituals so laborious?" he wondered.
You closed the cabin door behind you and headed towards your sister and Leo, but you finally directed your gaze mainly at him.
He swallowed hard and toyed with the seams of his belt with his fingertips.
— Were you looking for me? — The way you asked caught him off guard, as if your greatest desire was for him to say yes.
And unsure if that was your wish, he pleased you.
— Yes, for you.
How dared he say that? Great, now he was like a pervert, spying on you, lying, and finally saying he came for you with a confidence pulled out of nowhere (his ass)
Lou Ellen cleared her throat, bursting the bubble for a moment.
— Guys —she bowed mockingly, — If you'll excuse me, I think I have some scores to settle with the Hermes kids.
And she ran off laughing.
Leo was very confused, and his grimace made you laugh.
— Is she always like that?— He tried to understand, but you seemed immersed in an internal dialogue where you congratulated yourself and muttered thanks that Leo couldn't distinguish.
He admired you for another few seconds and started to smile; you were beautiful. You stopped your murmurs and smiled from ear to ear.
— You were spying on me.
His pride hit the ground, and his embarrassment too. Was it too late to call Lou and have her turn him into a pig? Why did you have to say it with such a satisfied expression?
— Hmm, no? — He squinted and let out a couple of awkward laughs.
You raised an eyebrow and took a step closer to him. — Are you lying to me again?
—Okay, I was spying on you — he raised his hands in a peace gesture and nodded, his hair curls bouncing. They seemed like small springs.
Dreams. You knew, you had hoped for so long, but Leo didn't make things easy for you.
You got annoyed quickly and grabbed his hand in a fit. Leo began to stutter and emit smoke, literally. extended your arm and forced him to wrap it around your waist.
A small flame ignited the edge of his shirt collar.
— Sorry, I didn't mean to...
— You didn't mean to, Valdez? — You asked even closer to his face.
His chin was at the level of your eyes, and passing your hand through the back of his neck, you made him look at you, playing and tangling with the small curls.
Leo smelled of a mix of cologne and metal; another hint of burnt smell flooded your nostrils, it was the cotton of his clothes.
You directed your other hand towards the flame, and Leo took your wrist, still looking at you, still clinging to you, totally dismayed but sure he didn't want to hurt you with the fire. You carefully freed yourself from his grip and extinguished the flame by placing your hand over it.
Leo felt shivers as your icy skin touched his collarbone.
—I make ice—you explained, removing your hand from his skin and passing it over the boy's gaze. A little steam emerging from your skin. He was speechless. — In case you want a Slushie, we never lack in the Hecate cabin.
And you laughed. The same laugh he heard in his dreams.
Charming way to break a moment with so much tension, but Leo couldn't joke in a moment like this, and that was killing him.
— this?— He repeated, hoping this time you would answer. —What's happening?
— Mmm, nothing really...
He tightened his grip on your hips, and you fixed your gaze on him. You definitely didn't expect him to take advantage of the control you had given him over you, but the son of Hephaestus seemed eager for an explanation without jokes.
— Dreams— you said, and Leo frowned. He was getting more lost. —Dreams, to be honest, there were several, right? I felt your energy surrounding me and looking for me. I wanted it too, and we ended up here.
Leo bit his tongue, and his cheeks flushed.
You smiled and nestled into his grip. You forced the boy to lower his head even more. You wanted to get to his lips, but you thought that would be too fast.
—This is ending me—Leo squirmed nervously, still holding you. you ended up entangled with each other, and it seemed exquisitely overwhelming to him; your essence still smelled of cinnamon and candle wax.
—Am I torturing you, Leo?—You bit your lip and gently squeezed his nape.—But we've been doing this for a long time.
He let out a sigh.
— But then, wasn't I crazy? I... Moreover, how are we like this, holding each other?— He glanced at your lips fleetingly. He wanted to taste them.
—Does it bother you?—and you separated your body from him, Leo quickly pulled you back towards him, making both collide. His free hand began to make its way to your back to close the grip.
—No.
Your hands traveled from the back of his neck to chest and heartbeats resounded in your palms.
—You didn't imagine anything, you and I were there... —Leo lifted his chin inviting you to continue. Those brown eyes made you want to kneel down and beg him to kiss you. — You know I'm a bit busy so I looked for another way for us to be together, I was only going to do it once but you confirmed that... you told me that... If what I've seen is true, please don't let me go...— Your voice began to tremble, and your breath caught. —I want to be loved by someone like you, Leo.
Silence enveloped you, leaving breaths to take center stage, both sounding breathless.
Leo couldn't believe that all those dreams where he babbled about his feelings for you, in front of what he thought was just an illusion of yours, were real. You never really responded and only looked at him with that understanding gaze. Sometimes you laughed or just rolled your eyes.
Reality hit him when he felt the pressure of your body against his again. You looked at him with embarrassment.
— It sounds strange, rushed, and even stupid — you said.
Leo shook his head and smiled. —I've been wishing for this for weeks— he said. Butterflies fluttered in your stomach, and you felt your face heat up.
Leo raised an eyebrow.— Now you're embarrassed? — He teased, and you punched his chest, making him laugh.— And you just pretended all this time, making me think I was out of my mind?— asked, incredulous.
—No?— You playfully averted your gaze.
—Now you're lying to me!—He whined, trying to sound angry, but the smile on his lips gave him away.
His hands caressed your hips and back with a little more tenderness. That made you grip Leo's shirt with a bit of anxiety, eager to have more of him.
— Does something bother you?— ribbed you. He knew what he was doing.
— Nothing.
— Nothing?
— Nothing! — You huffed, and your stomach boiled. He knew how it felt and was just getting back at you. He placed a hand on your cheek and forced you to look at him. Your furrowed brow seemed endearing to him.
One of your fingers caught some strands of Leo's hair and you wound them around yourself again. Then you let go and wrapped both arms around his neck and brought him closer to you, lips brushing. Leo smiled, causing more friction, teasing, and finally, you pressed your lips to his.
Both let out a relieved little sound and enjoyed the sensation you had longed for, feeling the softness of lips and the need to be with each other.
Leo abruptly pulled away with a grimace. You looked at him with doubt.
— What were you doing earlier and why didn't you stop me from spying on you?— You burst into laughter.
— Well, if we kept going like that... I thought we'd never have the chance to... you know. So, I gave an offering to Aphrodite to help us — You giggled and played with the boy's neck.
Leo gasped. —I thought I was psychotic.— He scoffed. —At least I didn't end up as a guinea pig.—He joked, giggling too.
Leo tried to kiss you again but you diverted, pretending to be annoyed. He drummed his fingers on your back, tickling you a little, but you held your ground.
— I can still do it — you threatened.
Leo's smile faded, and he nervously shook his head.
—No, darling. I'm better this way.
— I prefer guinea pigs. You'd be easier to-
And he kissed you again.
