What if instead of Gen 5 remakes: there's just a Black 3 and White 3?

So like the next generation remake is Unova, right? I think it'd be funny if we got a Larry cameo in those games (Like how Trial Captain Mina was in Let's Go).
The reason for that is because the Office Clerk Trainer class debuted in Gen 5.
Tumblr media
So like imagine just chilling in Castelia City and you go by the docks and you see Larry at the end of one, staring at the ocean.
That would be fun lol.

When the Gen 5 remakes finally come around, can we have like an updated Pokedex instead of what they did with BDSP? Like instead of going with BW’s dex or even B2W2’s, go bigger.
Let’s have a dex filled with Pokemon that have come since! Let there be wild Milcery by the Cold Storage in Driftveil City because, y’know… Frosting. Bring out a regional form of Chewtle and a regional evolution based on the TMNT. Let Spidops become the Spiderman of Virbank City, Pinwheel forest have Grubbin contend with the indigenous Venipede and Sewaddle and Honedge’s line have an ancient varient or idk… Convergent evolution based on ancient arrowheads that would be found in various USA digsites.
Let’s make Unova Great Again fellahs!!!

Tbh I don't know if I'd even want Unova remakes if they'd be as "faithful" as BDSP was to DPPt.
BDSP was basically just a 3D version of Diamond and Pearl. It included nothing significant from Platinum (besides the alternate forms for Rotom/Shaymin/Giratina), and the only really new thing they added was the Grand Underground. While I got enjoyment out of it, it wasn't nearly as fun as Platinum, which came out over a decade prior.
Plus Gen 5 had the last 2D/pixel core series games (and the best imo), which I feel is really noteworthy. Would we really want something that doesn't even try to capture that look and feel?

I think with the new DLC drop we can pretty much confirm there’s gonna be a Gen 5 remake 👀
-The story takes place at Blueberry Academy, which is in Unova
-Most if not all of the Gen 5 Pokemon are available to catch now with the expanded Pokedex, which makes it an easy transfer back and forth from HOME to the remakes
-Also there’s a specific separate event to catch Meloetta, who is a Gen 5 mythical 🤔
-This probably has to do more with the fact that Blueberry Academy is in Unova, but a lot of the main battle themes in The Indigo Disk have some sort of Gen 5 motif in their soundtracks somewhere
-Castelia City is available as a playable soundtrack in the League Club room!!
-ALSO you can change the club room’s theme to a BW themed one (the monochrome theme). There’s tons of references around the room of Unova locations, like White Forest, Black City, and the ferris wheel in Nimbasa!
-The secret boss of Blueberry Academy (SPOILERS) is Cyrano, who gives you a SHINY BLITZLE when you beat him
If we don’t get a Gen 5 remake within the next year I will be VERY shocked bc they are NOT being subtle about it. I for one have been waiting for this for years, they’d better not fuck it up I s2g

Pokemon Fans are all "Where are the Black and white remakes?" and "Why aren't you making a legends Unova?"
Because it's still gen 9, they aren't going to break out the gen 5 stuff until Gen 10, because math and symbolism or whatever, so please calm down.
(I do hope it's better than the gen 4 remakes though)

//I might hold off on doing Applin crossbreeds bcuz I'm convinced that Flapple and Appletun will get an evolution within the next 2 years or something, and I don't feel like redoing shit. You'll still get Applin variants tho, bcuz them going into different fruits isn't crossbreeds

what i really love about pokemon BW/BW2 is just how dynamic everything is. the idle animations of the pokemon, the animated cut-ins of the gym leaders, the music, the sound design, the low-health music shift. the triple and rotation battles. the double battles with wild pokemon. the different viewpoints for bridges and larger cities...even the overall speed of the battles makes the game feel intense and exciting

got thinking about gen 5 remakes, so here's how i think they could be handled. i feel like it's too much to ask for gamefreak to remake both bw and bw2, but bw2 is too big and significant to shove in as dlc or postgame, but also too big and significant to just ignore. so here's my proposal: you know how if you have a switch online membership you can download old zelda games and stuff? they could do that but with older pokemon games, or just put older pokemon games on the eshop. it's getting harder and harder to track down copies of older pokemon games if you don't want to pay one hundred million dollars, so this could be a way for newer fans to play the older stuff. so then, instead of a remake, gen 5 gets ported to to switch, and then older games follow suit
however, it would be a shame to not get to see unova re-imagined wouldn't it? thats when my second idea comes in: just make a legends game. legends arceus is one of my favourite games ever, and something like a legends kyurem would be the coolest thing in terms of unova lore and getting to see the original dragon before it was reshiram and zekrom. (also they could give us a super hot n ancestor cuz gamefreak knows the fans love n and would eat that up)
tldr: instead of a remake, bw and bw2 are available on the switch, and then gamefreak just makes legends kyurem or something. i don't know how well this would actually work but it's just an idea :p

i think, and this may just be my zekrom bias speaking, that if someone wants to experience the full value of bw's story it's better to play through white first. black has the issue of coming off as very dismissive towards plasma's legitimate and well-founded claims that pokemon abuse DOES occur (and it does! from the kanto games' marowak to bw2's liepard there's instances where it's put in the spotlight, so it certainly does happen)... by assigning the protagonist to truth, it feels pretty evident that n's beliefs are "wrong", and the game just seems to brush any questioning aside.
on the other hand, white giving n the hero of truth role means we're basically forced to think about what that means for the relationship of people and pokemon at large. to translate a point n makes in chargestone cave: if you allow people to coexist with pokemon, even if the majority of trainers treat them well, there will always be someone somewhere out there who abuses or neglects them instead. are we okay with that? should those pokemon still be allowed to suffer, just because what they experience is an outlier to the general rule? while not outright stated, zekrom's association with hope and the strive for the ideal suggests that we don't brush off these facts, but instead take them into consideration, and aim to change the world based off of them... like how in bw2 society in unova puts a lot more emphasis on the bond between people and pokemon, and on pokemon as equals (see: iris's dialogue before entering your team info the hall of fame).
i think black version has its own unique avenues to explore, but on the surface level, it's a much more cut and dry, "no, you're just wrong", type of story that kind of makes you work harder to fit it into bw's overall theming of "the world's not black and white, there's not a singular objective right or wrong perspective."
