The Celestial Islands

Map of the Celestial Islands of the World KOKODI. The Celestial Islands are located in the very south of the explored lands in the Sapphire Sea, not far from Cape Soaring Whales. The islands themselves appeared immediately after the disappearance of all adults in the KOKODI World. No one knows why they got off the ground and hover over the sea - initially they were scattered in different parts of the Earth, but one day they took off and united in one place over the Sapphire Sea. Rumor has it that at the bottom of the sea, it is in this place that there is a certain artifact that provokes shipwrecks, he magically united the islands, forcing them to levitate above the water.

This is an entire collection I created to help players subscribe/unsubscribe to different versions of the custom campaign, Dead Before Dawn.

Game: Left 4 Dead 2.

Differences between each version:

Director's Cut - Most recently and finalized version with minimal bugs. This collection was scattered all over the workshop, and became the very reason that they're all collected together as some items were hidden.

Extended - The longest chapter with the previous edition's custom events and adding on more crescendo events required to complete a chapter.

Uncut - The very first version of the campaign released prior to L4D2 coming out in 2009. This is the very first version that was optimized from the Gamemaps version and finalized for L4D2's newest edition of Source SDK.

This collection also contains some FAQ to help answer common troubleshooting questions and strategies used to beat some crescendo events.

Onto my AV3 was unfair to AV2 esp. Thais rambles (this is a pretty short one)

Okay that was a bit of too harsh a language. To be honest, my take is more of "when the writers tried their best to tie AP, AV1, AV2, and the new lore of AV3 together, AV2 unfortunately got the short end of the stick". Since my memories of AP and AV3 are hazy - since I didn't really particularly enjoy them as much as AV1 and AV2, let's look at the heart of the lore: Thais.

AP Thais is a city made of stone, a fort city. It has distinct districts and it surrounded by forests. Using the gamemap's orientation, there's Chateau Lenore to its west and the Thial Mountains to its South.

AV1 Thais is still a city made of stone, standing tall as a fort, but in a land that used to be forests. There are implied districts. There's caves nearby, but Chateau Lenore presumably got ruined, and the Thial Mountains weren't really relevant to the plot.

AV2 Thais is a city of clocks made of stone, still a fort, but a beautiful blue lake/sea sits next to it and it's filled with orange and reds too. Compared to its previous incarnations, it's way smaller. There are also implied districts. There's a few forests nearby and a couple of mountains, but they aren't the Thial Mountains.

The version of Thais that got reflected in AV3 the most was AP Thais. And AV1 Thais with its drab fort city Thais is still consistent with this interpretation of Thais in terms of landmarks and land size. Meanwhile, with its size and its surroundings, AV2 Thais looks much like an AU Thais.

I could go on and on with this, but wording it to sound more neutral is already a big enough emotional effort for me, because I do have a bias. If you want to do your own take, feel free to do so.
