We know why Republicans are pushing the idea of a ‘compromise’: they’re losing. Plus, everything they’re framing as the middle ground is actually a win for the anti-abortion movement. That’s why we can’t allow voters to fall for it—or Democrats to cede ground. There’s no such thing as a compromise for our freedom, and there’s no possible way Republicans will stop at 12 or 15 weeks.

Really hate that this is happening in my state. Our governor fought hard to veto this, but it wasn't enough. Looking more like Gilead every day here in the US. I love Kansas, I've lived here my whole life. I live in the bluest part of the state. I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to fight back for Trans kids. For kids like my little brother. This is just adults straight-up bullying kids, and opening them up to very invasive 'inspections.'
I'm sorry, I thought the GOP was the party of limited government interference into the lives of citizens? Because this bill is the complete opposite of that.

New York Attorney General Letitia James celebrated a $1.25 million win on Tuesday as conservative activists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman reached a deal to pay James' office and others for running a voter suppression campaign during the 2020 election.
In March 2023, a federal judge ruled in James' favor in a lawsuit against Wohl and Burkman for their efforts to suppress Black voters ahead of the 2020 election. James had filed the lawsuit against Wohl and Burkman in May 2021 after an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General found that Wohl and Burkman orchestrated a broad voter suppression campaign that used robocalls to spread election-related misinformation to Black voters and others in an effort to discourage voting.
The federal judge had found the two men liable, saying in a ruling last year, that they "set into motion a full-scale voter suppression operation during the summer of 2020 to discourage eligible voters from voting by targeting mail-in voting in the 2020 Election."

I thought the GOP stood for small government. Then why are they getting all up in peoples business?
Anti LGBTQ+. Anti abortion. Anti anything that doesn't sound like Yankee doodle dandy and mom's apple pie.
They seem to want to go back to the 1950's. The "good ol' days" When men were men, and women stayed in the kitchen.
With all the anti abortion laws, the medical field is going to lose so much knowledge of how to treat anything gynecological. "Unless the woman's life is in danger". Ambiguously worded. At what point can a doctor legally declare danger? When the woman is septic? When an placental rupture happens and she's going to bleed out? Will they even have the knowledge of how to care for her? Ectopic pregnancy. Needs an abortion. Her life is in danger, but this isn't in the list of things doctors can treat. Incomplete abortion? Often requires a D&C. Banned because it's considered an abortion. Both the woman and the doctor can be found liable, fined and or jailed.
Planned Parenthood? Gone. Along with affordable cancer screening, well woman care, and many other services. Doctors are leaving states because it's too dangerous to practice medicine. The lack of doctors and clinics in rural areas is horrifying. And getting worse.

When Trump suggested he could just shot someone right in the middle of 5th Avenue and wouldn’t lose any voters, he was right. He is the leader of a cult.
Stupid republicans are still defending him, a currupt abusive criminal, sexual offender, liar, racist, misogynist, anti-democratic lunatic who thinks he is above the law… and they try to picture him as a victim!!
Wow that is stupidity and fanatism at its max. Pathetic idiots

House GOP Hold Poor Hostage in Debt Limit Debate
Speaking at the New York Stock Exchange on April 17th, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) outlined Republicans' plan on raising the debit limit before the U.S. defaults. The plan demands work requirements for Medicaid and food stamp recipients. Meaning if House Republican do not get their wish to make poor people's lives harder, then they will let the global economy burn.
Republicans have a long history of opposing food stamps (a.k.a. the SNAP program) and Medicaid. For example, after the Affordable Care Act was passed into law and Medicaid was expanded to states that wanted it, many Republican-controlled states refused, even though the federal government would have largely paid for it. And just this year, Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) introduced a bill in March of 2023 that would expand current restrictions on who would qualify for SNAP.
It should surprise no one that the GOP would hold the economy hostage (and with all that it would entail) to gut programs designed to help less fortunate people. And they wonder why they cannot win elections.

To my representative;
I as a Latina woman born and raised in Osceola county Florida no longer feel safe in your district or state. I want to know what you have to say to people like me that are in fear of the rampant fascism you are allowing Ron Desantis to participate in. Taking over school boards, removing apps and freedom of speech from college campuses, putting dangerous laws into effect that will likely increase the murder rate in Florida and school shootings which we don’t need any help on!
I am horrified that you all could allow this to happen and that some of you are advocating for it. I would try to appeal to you emotionally from my heart but I prefer not waste my words on deaf ears and blind eyes. Make no mistake that our generation and younger generations will not be as complacent as the previous generations you are benefitting from. They may have given up and feel that their voice is lost but the voice has been found in our young people. If you can’t provide solutions to these issues and honest words of comfort to your constituents I will ensure ALL of my thoughts and prayers go to making sure you lose your positions to better candidates.
I’ve never volunteered in politics before, I’ve never written to a representative before. I simply vote in elections like I was told to do because that would enact change and improvements. However, seeing as how gerrymandering is preventing our voice from being heard by you all we will simply have to be more respectfully active. Please expect young voices to come into politics, to protests, to volunteer, and to not let you rest until we are safe from fascism or you are no longer in a political position that can continue to harm us. I’m angry, disappointed, and frightened for the future you all are hurdling us towards. I’m resentful about the past.
I wonder what would have been to our lives had my parents not bought the lie about America that they were sold. They came here and became legal citizens for the American dream. Little did we know the American dream was to keep us away. I wonder what would have become of my life had I not gone through the upbringing I did with two first generation immigrants dealing with all of their struggles culturally, emotionally, mentally, and physically in this country if I would have the struggles I do today. They had to each exchange their goals and dreams for minimum wage and discrimination if they wanted more than the bare minimum. Leaving them broken and for the children of these immigrants to pick up the pieces with work, school, emotional lifting etc. most often unsuccessfully and most often sacrificing their youth and innocence. America stole from me too I guess when you really think about it.
Unless I’m wrong and I hope I am. I await your response in telling me my parents struggles weren’t a waste, than my hardships as a child were worth it, that you have a plan to listen to us and help us. I hope your reply has plans that include less dead children, less hatred towards people that are not white Christian’s, less rhetoric that destroys families and friendships, more rights to the individual, and more of that so called freedom that is so widely advertised. I want you to tell me you won’t allow our government to kidnap innocent immigrant workers and drop them in the middle of nowhere to make a political statement. They’re not “immigrants” they’re mothers, fathers, children, siblings, PEOPLE, HUMANS. I want to hear that our government will tell us the truth and not silence people that want to tell us the truth when you won’t.
Will you do that? Will you ensure my potential children have an environment to enjoy? If you don’t care about my children perhaps yours? Maybe you have grand children you love, I’d love to hear that you are doing SOMETHING to protect the environment you are leaving behind for them. But please, say something, do something, help us. You can I know you can, it is quite literally your choice every day. So please choose for humanity. Not for money for lobbyist, for the GOP. Have a great and safe night. I hope you rest well because some

The GOP is now stating, in writing, that the history of African Americans is worthless and that only White history should be taught in American schools.
But please tell me again how I’m being unreasonable for calling the GOP the party of White Supremacy and White Grievance.

A Republican lawmaker in North Dakota introduced a bill that would fine people $1,500 if they refer to trans people using their correct pronouns, rather than the pronouns they were assigned at birth.
The rule would apply to organizations that receive state funding—which includes public schools. That means schools and teachers could be fined for using their trans colleagues’ or students’ pronouns.

Medhi Hasan’s show being canceled was awesome news and may Joy Reid have the same fate. They want to spread their cheeks for white supremacy and help the GOP then they don’t need to be on MSNBC. They should go run to Faux News and work there.
Tired of rich fuckwads like them not taking Project 2025 and the GOP seriously. They rather lie and spread bullshit instead of informing people what the GOP want to do.
Listening to rich people who can easily move to another county if the GOP win the White House is a moronic thing to do. They clearly care more about their bank accounts than their fellow communities so frankly fuck ‘em.
And as for Joy Reid, she rather be a leftist and whine about Biden than bring attention to what’s happening in Mississippi or any red states that have Black People being harassed and killed on a daily basis. Her and that ‘ political maverick’ can kick rocks.
