Good day my dear #fragfam friends 🙋🏻‍ Today I’m sharing with you a fragrance that truly blew my mind with its beauty, a fragrance that I had been awaiting since the first bottle prototype was made back in November 2020. FARIS is an Arabic word that means Knight and that black cap and the web-like design on it kind of gave me the impression that it’s going to be such a dark scent like most of their FIDDAH and WARDE Collections which are very magnificent and truly oriental. However, to my surprise, KAJAL had something up their sleeve with this fragrance where they worked with perfumers Urs Castelletti and David Chieze to create a new phenomenal masterpiece that continues to treat you and surprise you for many hours leaving you never feeling bored. The amazing scent profile of this fragrance takes you into a beautiful journey that remind me of my travel journeys throughout the fields in the heart of Europe with a very bold yet very refreshing sour fruity opening with a mix of Bergamot, Juniper Berries, Lemon, Apple and Orange that was tamed through a well-balanced touch of Lavender. The journey then takes in a tour through a spicy floral journey throughout Southeast Asia through a mix of Jasmine, Nutmeg, Rose, Coriander and Clove; until it settles down on one of those beautiful dry downs that KAJAL if famous for with an intimate mix of Amber, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Patchouli that draws a huge smile of happiness and satisfaction. Despite its beautiful continuously variable scent profile, I truly feel the European and more specifically French spirit in FARIS, and I think that it lives up to the true meaning of its name conquering all hearts and lands with full determination and stamina with its excellent longevity and projection and I totally find this release to be worthy of carrying the name FARIS. #fragrancereview ~ Black Gemstone by Stephane Humbert Lucas 777 {2013} ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've always been intrigued by this fragrance with its enigmatic presentation and more so because of its somewhat unique composition. I find myself drawn to these bold and mysterious scent profiles as I delve deeper into my olfactive journey to better understand what appeals to me. Black Gemstone with its smoky woody accords was an instant hit for me, a veritable 'love at first sniff' affair. With a rather bold opening featuring a strong woody accord laced with a tart lemon note, a pairing that I don't often see but one that works incredibly well in this fragrance, you're transported toa an exotic location. This is followed closely by a dry yet sweet resinous accord that is dark before exploring into a smoky incense dominated drydown that is absolutely beautiful. It resonates power, strength and nobility and will certainly appeal to alphas. I was especially pleased to discover this elixir waxing strong on my skin over 12hrs later with a perceptible projection that is highly commendable. This is not a safe blind buy though unless you enjoy being surprised. It's the polarizing type in my opinion so you'll either love it or hate it but you do owe it to yourself to give this gem a try!
