soo i started seeing this girl back in may and she is quite literally the sweetest person i've ever met. she gifted me 7 (!!!!!) thai fragrances for my birthday that just passed. she said she picked a bunch of them because they had silly, sweet names. so generous. i'm in awe.

so! today i am wearing my favorite of the bunch, both with name and how the notes settle into my skin.

honestly this is a very slightly sweet floral. its dries down to an ambery musk. its delightful and honestly so sweet to be called dating you. amazing. love it.

Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia DUPE. 🤭

This smells like a bee had collected nectar from a gardenia flower and made honey with it. IT'S SO GOOD. 🍯 🐝 💐 And it's so versatile??? You could easily wear this on an outing, at school, or even on dates.

Miel Bébé by Le Monde Gourmand, released in 2018, is a honey scent with a citrus accord.

The notes of Mandarin orange, honey, praline, and sandalwood make this a really great summer fragrance (think: Gorgeous Gardenia), but the honey note is distinct enough for those with experienced noses to differentiate between the two. Despite the lack of floral notes listed, I also smell a floral accord, but it might just be added sweetness from the praline.

If you're looking for something for a fraction of the price, then this is the one for you. The only downside is that the lasting power is weaker, but can we normalize spraying multiple times per day?? 😤

Acqua di Giò Profumo 2015

The absolute favorite of the line, the original Acqua Di Gio DNA with the incense twist provides a modern take on an all-time classic. It is shame that I am hearing that this is being discontinued if not already, as I had recently picked up a newer bottle (non-magnetic cap, reformulated etc.) still hats off to the genius @morillas.alberto

Opens bright and airy, salty, ever-so slightly funky and instantly marine like. Those that are familiar with the original will notice a resemblance. As it wears it gets frutier, (maybe some green-apple) but remains aquatic with the faint "funkiness" retreating. Towards the middle there is a note not disimilar to gin or some kind of spirit, though it's faint and not overly "boozy". Warming up it becomes a lot more herbaceous, with a slightly-sweet, rosemary-like aroma, it then has interchanging notes of citrusses and woods, with the base becoming woodier & with muted smokiness. Finally becoming a skin scent it remains light and airy, woody, and with a muskiness very similar to the original. This is a scent for hotter-climes but easily wearable in all but extreme cold, is more masculine leaning but works both night and day. Performance is decent and a vast improvement on the original (which doesn't seem like a challenge TBH) & those that like ADG will surely find this appealing. Overall It's a solid "Flanker", it improves on the original while remaining recognisable.

I don't like leather and don't like gourmands, but I can get behind this leather gourmand if we want to call it that. It's Dzing! by L'Artisan Parfumeur. It picks up the benzoin where Candy left off and takes the sweets to the circus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you first spray it, you definitely get a blast of the barnyard and cotton candy mixed together, maybe you’re at a kid's birthday party at the petting zoo. The barnyard smell is thanks to castoreum but also hay which brings a sweetness. There's a bit of a skanky musk, a waxiness, and powdery sweet benzoin. i took myself out to a cute sushi dinner to celebrate my birthday coming tomorrow.

scent of the day: bdk parfums gris charnel ($205/3.4 oz)

notes: top- fig, black tea, cardamom essence heart- absolute of iris, bourbon vetiver base- sandalwood from India, absolute of tonka bean

this one is a BEAUTIFULLY balanced warm and spicy fig. the fig is exceptionally sweet but not cloying in any way. the black tea settles a bit as you wear. truly a masterpiece of a fragrance. kinda reminds me of a sophisticated version of bbw's twilight woods from about 2008 or so.

Kasbah by 19-69

What I love about 19-69 is that they capture different countercultural eras as fragrances, with a sort of uniqueness and edginess to each one.

Launched in 2017, Kasbah is a dark, woody, and spicy fragrance. To me, its notes of white honey, lime, patchouli, and guaiac wood are the most prominent. I love wearing this on its own, as a honey enjoyer, but I also would recommend layering this with Hypnotic Poison for a more feminine feel. With Hypnotic Poison, I find that the vanillic accord in Kasbah is brought out with some added sweetness from HP. For a more masculine combo, I might suggest layering it with Jazz Club by Replica, which brings out the more boozy, amber, and aromatic accords.

Sadly, 19-69 is no longer sold in stores where I live, but in the future, I would love to try Villa Nellcôte, Chinese Tobacco, La Habana, L'air Barbès, and Miami Blue.

Hello fragrance friends, what is your scent of the day ? For me, it is the classy and refined beauty known as Givenchy Xeryus Rouge. This is one of the few fougeres and designer fragrances that had me confused as to why it was not more popular and well known. You get a lovely fresh watery and green cactus of the top with clean orange and playful Tarragon. Pimento adds a unique jumping spice feel, and there are some modern musky elements in the background like cedar and Geranium. Then, we get a clean vibe and a hint of creamy sandalwood. This is another wellblended or some might say overblended fragrance, but some notes poke out a little in a fun way. I especially like how easy this is to wear, but it's so timeless. I get 7 hours longevity with good performance. You can still find this for around 50, but this used to be a real cheapy kinf with lalique poure home for me.
