very interested in how the storyline of ronan's sexuality is developed in the dream thieves as a battle between kavinsky and gansey while adam is almost never present in these scenes, which makes it even more interesting that we found out in CDTH that ronan was set on adam the moment he saw him. i think that ronan is attracted on some level to both gansey and kavinsky (you can draw the lines of how much romantic intention you think he hold towards either of the yourself, that's a rabbit hole I would need a whole other post to go down) but more so I think he was attracted to the IDEA of both of them and certain qualities that each possessed, and that the real question wasn't does ronan want gansey or kavinsky because we know he wants adam but rather who's qualities resonate more with who ronan is, or who he is choosing to be at this critical moment in his character development. kavinsky is a dangerous thrill and often comes wrapped in ronan's other favorite self destructive attempts to outrun himself, while gansey is ronan's history and proof of his deep capacities for loyalty and love. he tells kavinsky it was never going to be me and you and that it's not going to be ronan and gansey because that was never the question- maggie was obviously always planning on bluesy and pynch. the answer to who ronan WANTS in adam. the question of who ronan IS- that's what he's trying to decide here. his self hatred is such a heavy weight on him and theme in tdt, and the kavinsky/gansey dichotomy represents the the path he will choose to take to deal with it- keep try to drive faster than his demons or accept that he can still be loved even if he isn't the person he once was. the dream thieves my beloved ronan lynch my beloved

all this talk about protective dean winchester but i can never stop thinking about protective sam. sam at nine, thirteen, fifteen, always too young and too late to help his brother from falling further into the traps of the way their father thinks. sam at seven already knowing their father sucks when eleven year old dean worships the ground he works on, sort of because eleven year old dean worships the ground he walks on. sam at ten looking at the way john treats fourteen year old dean, the blame and the pressure he puts on his shoulders, the emotional incest and dean’s dogged devotion and thinking that’s fucked up and being so so resistant to any kindness towards john winchester because of that. sam at fourteen slowly realising the way his father’s fucked his brother up irreparably and how he can’t help and he doesn’t know what to do and how can he keep being part of this. sam at sixteen trying to get dean out, too, but dean just gets angry at the prospect of sam even wanting to leave, is insistent he’s not in a situation he wants to get out of. sam at eighteen leaving and feeling like he’s dooming his brother and hating himself for it.

i don’t know how people are watching the show if they don’t see this as backed by canon, because the pure anger in sam’s tone when he talks so much about their dad in s1 isn’t just about the way he treated sam, it’s also about the way he treated dean. he always talks about the way he raised us, not just the way he raised sam. theres vicious hatred there that only comes from seeing the damage someone who’s meant to protect someone you love does to them…….

okay so you know when takeda manages to get ukai to come watch karasuno play for the first time and kagehina show off their freak quick and ukai is like "sensei how long have those two been paired together" and takeda is like "oh kageyama and hinata? they just met this year i've heard it was rocky at first but they're getting along well now" and ukai is like "what a shame". do you think he goes home and looks into them and finds out that kageyama's the lonely king and that his teammates abandoned him. do you think he looks and looks for hinata but can't find him until finally he stumbles across a no-name school that barely had a volleyball team and their only match lasted 31 minutes. do you think he wonders about how lonely they were. a coach can't replace teammates but do you think he decides to try and make sure that no one on his team feels lonely again.
