Discovered in 1887, Fossil Grove is Glasgow's most ancient visitor attraction.
Located in Victoria Park, the remnants of a 330 million year old forest can be viewed from within a building constructed to protect the fossilised stumps and roots from the elements.

The naive pupil beleives you can summon the power of dinosaurs via fossils...
The studied sage knows that no biological trace of dinosaurs can be found in the rock fossils...
The wise elder knows that biology is not needed to for belief and power. The fossils act as a conduit for our knowledge and belief.
The truly enlightened knows that if you eat fossils you become dinosaurs because duh. EAT THE ROCKS.

Mother Nature Dissents - The Atlantic
Mother Nature Dissents – The Atlantic
Mother Nature is entering a dissenting opinion on last month’s Supreme Court decision that weakened the federal government’s ability to combat climate change. With record heat in Texas that is testing the state’s power grid, a California wildfire that has threatened an ancient grove of sequoias considered a foundation stone of the national-park system, and persistent drought across the West that…

also. late quaternary extinction of a tree species in Eastern North America.
I've posted a little bit in the past about end-pleistocene megafauna extinctions, the overkill hypothesis, and the impact on "humans are the virus" type interpretations of ecology. This tree is the only documented end-Pleistocene plant extinction, which seems really striking, but this paper (from 1999) is like "yeah we haven't really studied it, and pollen deposits don't really allow for distinguishing plants on the species level, and most macrofossil sites have barely been analyzed."
I tried to do some research on end-pleistocene palynology in the USA and found this paper, which if anything gives a decent glimpse into what palynology does and doesn't allow us to analyze, and it is noted that "Nyssa, however, is distinctly entomophilous (Smiley Apiaries 2014), so just about any amount of its pollen in a sample suggests that the plants grew quite close to the site of deposition, where the discarded flowers accumulated. Because Nyssa is exclusively a freshwater entomophilous genus, the presence of its pollen in any significant quantity (>1%, F.J. Rich, personal observation) marks the site of a former freshwater wetland"
In other words, "Nyssa (blackgum) is insect pollinated, so its seriously weird that its pollen shows up in this fossil pollen sample, and would have to mean that there was a big grove of them with flowers falling to the ground right where the sample was collected."
Most of the species detected in this study are wind-pollinated species that are mega abundant and produce shit tons of airborne pollen, and they are identifiable down to either genus or family level. This means we can't say much about plants pollinated by insects, plants that were a small part of the total plants in the area, or plants that differed from modern ones only on species level.
Which means that it's misleading to say "there was only one End-Pleistocene plant extinction in USA" because we couldn't know that either way!
In fact the presence of plants like Torreya, Franklinia, and other "relict" plants along the Gulf Coast with ultra tiny ranges that likely used to be more widespread suggests that tons of plants could have gone extinct during the Last Glacial Maximum, since all it would take is a plant being 5% more intolerant to the glaciated climate than any of the numerous plants that got severely bottlenecked
It seems like the plants haven't gotten as much attention in research and that keeps being interpreted as "nah, there wasn't really an effect on the plants, only animals went extinct mostly" NO!!!!

By allowing existing trees to grow old in healthy ecosystems and restoring degraded areas, scientists say 226 gigatonnes of carbon could be sequestered, equivalent to nearly 50 years of US emissions for 2022. But they caution that mass monoculture tree-planting and offsetting will not help forests realise their potential.
Humans have cleared about half of Earth’s forests and continue to destroy places such as the Amazon rainforest and the Congo basin that play crucial roles in regulating the planet’s atmosphere.
The research, published on Monday in the journal Nature as part of a collaboration between hundreds of leading forest ecologists, estimates that outside of urban agricultural areas in regions with low human footprints where forests naturally exist, they could draw down large amounts of carbon.
About 61% of the potential could be realised by protecting standing forests, allowing them to mature into old growth ecosystems like Białowieża forest in Poland and Belarus or California’s sequoia groves, which survived for thousands of years. The remaining 39% could be achieved by restoring fragmented forests and areas that have already been cleared.
[...]
The research follows a controversial 2019 paper on the potential of forests to mitigate the climate crisis, which was also co-authored by Crowther, that provoked intense scientific debate among forest ecologists. The researcher inspired corporate action on forests and was credited with Donald Trump’s support for tree-planting schemes.
But several scientists felt that potential for nature to help meet climate goals had been overstated and the paper advocated for the creation of mass tree-planting, driving greenwashing concerns.
Simon Lewis, a professor of Global Change Science at University College London who was a leading critic of the 2019 paper, said the new estimate was much more reasonable and conservative.
“There is a lot of spin and bluster about what trees can do for the environment. To cut through this always ask: what is the amount of carbon taken up by a hectare of land, and over what time period, he said. “The spin on what trees can do for the climate will no doubt continue. But there is still only a finite amount of land to dedicate to forests, and ability of trees to sequester carbon is limited. The reality is that we need to slash fossil fuel emissions, end deforestation, and restore ecosystems to stabilise the climate in line with the Paris agreement.”

Fossil Novembirb: Day 7 - Ancient London Town
Tumblr media
The 50 million year old fossil site of London Clay preserves impressive fossils of early Eocene birds. Back then, during the PETM, the city of London was near a tropical shoreline, and the land was covered with forests of tropical trees and palm groves. In this hot house world, birds were diversifying rapidly, and lots of strange forms lived in London Clay.
Pulchrapollia: This pretty bird belongs to a lineage related to parrots and had parrot-like feet, but was not a close relative of them. This bird had a corvid-like beak and was likely an omnivore, like jays today.
Archaeodromus: A relative of swifts, potoos and nightjars that hawked after insects, catching them in its huge mouth.
Eotrogon: An early relative of the modern trogons and quetzals. It dove after insects and fruit from its high perch.
Ypresiglaux: Among the earliest known owls, and also one of the smallest. Despite its small stature, it was a fearsome predator of insects and small vertebrates.
Nasidytes: The earliest known loon (or diver). Like its modern relatives, it was an aquatic predator of fish and invertebrates, diving beneath the surface to catch its prey.
Dasornis toliapica: A species of pelagornithid, which were large pseudotoothed soaring seabirds. This small species had a wingspan of "only" three metres.
Nettapterornis: A wading waterfowl related to modern ducks that used its long legs and flat bill to filter food from the water.
Lithornis vulturinus: An ancestral palaeognath that was perfectly capable of long distance flight. It had a flexible beak to help catch its prey.
Charadriisimilis: A small wader that was related to the same group as oystercatchers, sandpipers and plovers. It used its long legs and beak to catch small animals from the sediment.
Prophaethon: An early relative of modern tropicbirds. It could swim and fly well, and may have had a niche similar to modern gulls or terns.

A MAGA think tank (sort of an oxymoron) published a document with the official title Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise but is widely known as Project 2025 after the name of the group inside the Heritage Foundation which compiled it. Whatever you call it, it is a bloodcurdling blueprint of the shape a second Trump administration would take.
Carlos Lozada of the New York Times read 887 pages of it so we don't have to.
[W]hat is most striking about the book is not the specific policy agenda it outlines but how far the authors are willing to go in pursuit of that agenda and how reckless their assumptions are about law, power and public service. “Mandate for Leadership,” which was edited by Paul Dans and Steven Groves of the Heritage Foundation, is not about anything as simplistic as being dictator for a day but about consolidating authority and eroding accountability for the long haul. It calls for a relentless politicizing of the federal government, with presidential appointees overpowering career officials at every turn and agencies and offices abolished on overtly ideological grounds. Though it assures readers that the president and his or her subordinates “must be committed to the Constitution and the rule of law,” it portrays the president as the personal embodiment of popular will and treats the law as an impediment to conservative governance. It elevates the role of religious beliefs in government affairs and regards the powers of Congress and the judiciary with dismissiveness. And for all the book’s rhetoric about the need to “dismantle the administrative state,” it soon becomes clear that vanquishing the federal bureaucracy is not the document’s animating ambition. There may be plenty worth jettisoning from the executive branch, but “Mandate for Leadership” is about capturing the administrative state, not unmaking it. The main conservative promise here is to wield the state as a tool for concentrating power and entrenching ideology.
We hear a lot of far right rhetoric about destroying "the deep state" or "the administrative state" – particularly from the odious Steve Bannon. But what's clear from Project 2025 is that what MAGA really intends is an unfriendly takeover of "the administrative state".
Executing a conservative president’s agenda “requires a well-conceived, coordinated, unified plan and a trained and committed cadre of personnel to implement it,” the document says on its opening page. The phrasing quickly grows militaristic: The authors wish to “assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day 1 to deconstruct the administrative state.” That deconstruction can be blunt. Portions of “Mandate for Leadership” read as though the authors did a Control-F search of the executive branch for any terms they deemed suspect and then deleted the offending programs or offices. The White House’s Gender Policy Council must go, along with its Office of Domestic Climate Policy. The Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations is a no-no. The E.P.A. can do without its Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights. And the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration should be dismantled because it constitutes “one of the main drivers of the climate change alarm industry.”
Making the US safe for fossil fuel companies is a HŪGE Trump priority which gets too little attention. Remember "drill drill drill" from Trump's dictator interview? If there's any hope of reversing climate change, you can kiss it goodbye if Republicans win in November.
Of course abortion is a target of Project 2025. Christian nationalism would become the semi-official ideology.
If “Mandate for Leadership” has its way, the next conservative administration will also target the data gathering and analysis that undergirds public policy. Every U.S. state should be required by Health and Human Services to report “exactly how many abortions take place within its borders, at what gestational age of the child, for what reason, the mother’s state of residence and by what method.” By contrast, the government should prohibit the collection of employment statistics based on race or ethnicity, and the Centers for Disease Control should discontinue gathering data on gender identity, on the grounds that such collection “encourages the phenomenon of ever-multiplying subjective identities.” (Why the executive branch might concern itself with the subjective identities of American citizens becomes clearer some 25 pages later, when the document affirms that the government should “maintain a biblically based, social-science-reinforced definition of marriage and family.”)
A far right army of ideological zealots is to be recruited to replace anybody in the federal government not sufficiently pro-Trump.
One of the “pillars” of Project 2025 is the creation of a personnel database — a sort of “right-wing LinkedIn,” The Times has reported, seeking to attract some 20,000 potential administration officials. “Mandate for Leadership” maintains that “empowering political appointees across the administration is crucial to a president’s success,” and virtually every chapter calls for additional appointees to wrest power from longtime career staff members in their respective departments.
In short... (emphasis added)
This book does not call for an effort to depoliticize the administrative state. It simply wishes to politicize it in favor of a new side. Everybody does it; now it’s our turn. Get over it.
The book is hardly a secret. The far right is quite open about its intent.
Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise (PDF)
As with Mein Kampf, we know ahead of time what the bad guys will do if they hold power. We need to take the danger more seriously than Germany of the early 1930s.
What's needed to defeat Trump is a pro-democracy mobilization of the United States. That means putting aside ideological quibbles with other anti-Trump groupings and becoming more politically active in real life.
EDIT: Tumblr is telling me that the link to Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise isn't working and refuses to let me post it. But I just checked it twice and it's fine. Until this peculiar glitch gets fixed, go to this Substack article and click "Mandate for Leadership" in the middle of the first paragraph.

@orcinusorca2236 asked me for some more Teleri world building! I am so sorry for how delayed this is
I have my first set here and there is more in the Teleri tag! All headcanons about language or words are mine!
-Tattoos and body paint are a semi common form of art and expression! Most are temporary and even more permanent tattoos will not last forever. Pigments come from a variety of sources but rocks and shells make up an large percentage. Symbols range from abstract patterns, sometimes meant to represent the ocean, wind or other natural phenomena to detailed landscapes painted right across the face or arms of an individual. I have my partial guide to Telerin symbols here
-Long hair is common for Telerin elves. One style involves simple twisting rather than braids, usually tied with a stretch of cloth or even grass. Complex styles that take time are usually for celebratory occasions. Pearls are often woven into the hair during weddings. These are from a custom shared with the Noldor and are primarily meant to play upon the light
-The weather of Alqualondë is mild with colder air sometimes coming from the ocean. Lizards and snakes can be seen basking upon the lower walls throughout most of the year. Tortoises live in gardens as a popular companion. They are sourced from the nearby countryside. The Telerin word for tortoise translates to rock turtle. A later word used by some translates to sun rock turtle.
-The Coast around Alqualondë and the surrounding lands is long. It spreads through whatever Rayati of different climates and ecosystems. In the harbors around the city, the weather is mild but the water is cool, but there are grooves, including mangroves with warmer weather and even warmer climate. There reach a little ways inland and are home to complex ecosystems. At least one is home to manatees. This grove is named for Úinen.
-There are also places on the coast with warmer water and there is another small population of Teleri who live here. The waters around Tol Eressëa are also much warmer and are home to dugongs, more reefs and other tropical and subtropical life
-The lands between the Pelóri and Alqualondë are full of open woodlands, orchards and fields and groves, and salt marshes. There are hundreds of little springs, some coming down from the mountains, some originating inland. Many trickle down to the sea.
-The walls that surround Alqualondë are covered in shells and even fossils. There are three watch towers and a number of lighthouses. Prior to the Darkening, these towers primarily functioned for observation, astronomy and cartography study, rather than defense
-Casual nudity is common among the Teleri who frequently swim and walk along the beaches with little to no clothing. There are saltwater and freshwater springs in and around Alqualondë where people go to bathe, relax and enjoy companionship. These often have simple sandstone shelters built around them
- Instruction is common with mixed age groups. Natural materials and outdoor lessons make up a lot of the learning. Lessons are conveyed through stories both real and folkloric. Telerin children are also taught swimming, boats, and water safety from a young age.
-There are many families and individuals who live on their boats on the water.
-The Teleri have an extensive collection of knowledge on toxins, secretions and substances, both potent and subtle, found in mollusks, crustaceans, fish, aquatic flora, and other marine and water creatures. These are sometimes used in medicine and even crafts.
-Fishing is usually done with woven nets and handmade spears. The malicious killing of sea birds is forbidden. Telerin fishers often find strong religious significance in their trade.

Screencapping this and censoring the URL so I don't give these people traffic and increase their SEO.
The content featured on I***ia.****d is pushing your typical New Age conspirituality. Here's a few things I found on the site:
Claiming that Lemuria was a real place. In reality, it was a hypothetical continent proposed to explain lemur fossil distribution, and was shown to be both unnecessary and impossible by the discovery of plate tectonics. Everything that New Agers have ever claimed about Lemuria is a fantasy.
Anti-pharmaceutical/anti-vax conspiracy theories. Anti-pharmaceutical conspiracy theories were literally invented by the Nazis.
Starseed content. Starseeds are inextricably linked with the very racist ancient aliens hypothesis and with spiritual eugenics.
Claiming that children with autism and ADHD are actually indigo children, rainbow children, and crystal children; essentially, that they are spiritually superior and it's their job to lead the world into the new age.
Reptilian alien conspiracy theories. Reptilian conspiracy theories are basically a hodgepodge of older antisemitic tropes, many of which have origins in The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, blood libel, and early modern witch panic.
Reptilian bloodline conspiracy theories. This is a modified version of the Satanic bloodline/generational satanist conspiracy theory pushed by Fritz Springmeier, which again, has origins in older antisemitic tropes. (And Fritz Springmeier doesn't seem to have come across an antisemitic conspiracy theory he didn't like, and he seems to have invented a number of his own.)
References to a "Saturnian matrix." This is a reference to a conspiracy theory that Jews actually worship Saturn. In short, it's a fancy way of saying "Jews run the world."
Bohemian Grove conspiracy theories - also part of far right conspiracy theory lore.
I'm sure I could find more bullshit if I kept digging, but I think that's more than enough to demonstrate that this site is full of garbage, and should be entirely disregarded.

There is a sword lodged in a stone in a mossy grove without any magic keeping it there, just a little rust. It's still hard to draw, not that anyone really tries anymore.
There are legends about it. Often these are conflated with other legends about other swords lodged in various other difficult or significant places. Had the path to the grove not grown over long ago, there might be more people coming and going to try and pull the sword free and test the theory of legends passed between drunken strangers.
But the legends have inspired one particularly stupid and ill informed squire. Hector, a squire in the service of Sir Iwan of Hollwarsten, must prove himself. He must prove himself worthy of knighthood or else he will be resigned from service as he becomes too old to serve Sir Iwan. He must prove himself worthy. The word "worthy" vibrated through every drunken bone in his body as he stumbled through the wood and into the mossy grove and up to the boulder which housed the sword and as he grasped the hilt and stumbled back and as the blade came free and as violent beams of silver light spilled into the sky and turned the dead of night into a false and radiant dawn. It was fate, it had to be fate. Fate had deemed him worthy to draw for the blade of Alnuric. The cursed blade of Alnuric. Alnuric the mad enchanter. The blade that had killed legions in a single swipe, the blade that had torn through hillsides when it had fallen through its third master's fingers, the blade that had carried a legacy of blood until it was well known it was not worth it, the sword that had been better left forgotten. The blade that only a fool was worthy of.
And as the night sky bloomed a horrible silver lilly of dripping arcane power, every wizard alive turned their minds to the forgotten mossy grove. Every wizard that would have died a hundred times over the second the blade turned their way peered through their magic at the fool. Every wizard spoke their words in unison.
Flesh to stone,
fossil be thy bone.
The fate of ye
that could not leave well enough alone.
And the sky became quiet again. Dawn turned back to night. Every widened eye readjusted. Ever wizard breathed a sigh of relief.
And the sword returned to its place in the mossy grove, its hilt buried in another stone.

Halsin is definitely 100% a vegetarian
-He's a Druid, with a deep love of animals and nature
-He can- and does- literally talk to animals, you really expect me to believe this big softie would eat someone he talked to
-If there was any meat at the Grove, Halsin would definitely give it to the Tieflings who likely need it more regardless of whether he "wanted" to eat any, so he probably hasn't eaten meat in decades to centuries even if he wasn't a strict vegetarian- but I think he is, because of this last tiny hint:
-Halsin's favorite wildshape, the one he spends as much time as he possibly can, in? Is a cave bear. Some scientists have differing opinions primarily due to ambiguities of dental wear patterns on fossils, but the majority of the scientific community believes cave bears were vegetarians

Heathers Pokemon AU
Veronica Sawyer: Pokemon Researcher
Assistant to Prof. Fleming
While starting her journey, she encountered Ram and Kurt, who work for Team Rocket, trying to harass the Heathers and steal their Pokemon, and stepped in and beat them in a battle
The Heathers, being the useless Lesbians they are, invited her to their group seeing not only her strength, but also that she was hot
Veronica, who was unsure about what she really wanted out of life, decided to join them in their journey, forgetting that she was planning on traveling with Martha
Martha gets extremely upset and ends their friendship over this, bc the Heathers, more specifically Duke, bullied her in the past and she couldn't believe that Veronica would choose her bullies over her
Veronica is desperate to reconnect but is afraid their friendship has gone past a point of no return
She meets JD on her travels and she enters a love triangle between her, him and the Heathers
Eventually develops feelings for the Heathers after spending so much time with them over her travels and seeing their soft sides
Decides to study ancient Pokemon, more specifically Hisuian forms after discovering them with JD
Team;
Blastoise (Mega) - Starter given by Fleming
Aurorus - Found as a Sail Fossil while stuck in a cave with JD
Hisuian Liligant - Started Veronica's interest in Hisuian Forms, discovered in a special grove for the few remaining Hisuian Pokemon
Espeon - Given as an Eevee by the Heathers as a gift for joining their group
Corviknight
Chandelure
Heather Chandler: Pokemon Trainer
Wants to be the very best, aiming to become Champion
Absolutely loathes JD
Has a bad habit of pushing her Pokemon too hard in training to try and get them to be stronger
Her Pokemon build a resentment towards her because of how she treats them, and it's part of why JD doesn't like her
Eventually Mac had to step in and mediate between Chandler and her Pokemon because they refused to listen to her any longer
Her first instinct is to throw money at any of her problems, if that fails she sends out her Blaziken and threatens to burn down the building if she doesn't get her way
Being out in the world away from her family shows her that she can't always get what she wants and that anger gets her nowhere
Is already in an established relationship with the other Heathers when they meet Veronica, but when they meet her they all agree to try and invite her into their relationship eventually
This is the other point of contention between her and JD, they both fight over who gets to seduce her without Veronica finding out
Team:
Blaziken (Mega) - Starter
Jolteon - Gift from Mac when they first became friends
Tsareena
Nidoqueen
Kingdra - The 3 of them are all regal Pokemon, which help feed into her superiority complex
Annihilape - The straw that broke the camerupt's back with her Pokemon, she pushed her Primeape too far that it got so angry that it died and evolved into Annihilape and went on a rampage
Heather Duke: Pokemon Ranger
She travels to different ranger stations around the region, essentially interning at them to see where she would like to work after she finishes her journey
The cook for the group
Her and Martha were friends when they were really little, Martha gifted her a Ralts from her parent's Gardevoir who had twin eggs
They fell apart after Duke became friends with the Heathers and they started bullying Martha
Her Ralts evolved into Gallade while Martha's evolved into Gardevoir and they have an intense rivalry
She's really guilty about how she treated Martha, but is too afraid to apologize to her, especially because of how the Heathers took Martha's best friend twice now
Team;
Meowscarada - Starter
Vaporeon - Gift from Mac when they became friends
Gallade
Honchkrow
Pyroar (Female)
Scizor - Caught bc it would be useful with Ranger stuff, like cutting down branches to get through the woods
Heather McNamara: Pokemon Breeder
Her Dad breeds rare pokemon such as regional variants or uncommon Pokemon, like Eevee
Thats where Mac keeps getting the Eevees to give to people, she gives them out as a sign of friendship
She dislikes battling, bc she hates seeing them getting hurt
She's been around Pokemon as long as she can remember, eventually she will take over the family business
Has a soft spot for orphaned/injured Pokemon
Occasionally participates in contests, she thinks they are fun and a opportunity to show off the unique pokemon her dad breeds
Her and Martha had a heart-to-heart after one contest
Martha had completely dominated the contest, she worked her butt off
Mac came to congratulate her after bc she could see how hard Martha had worked and Martha got really upset bc she expected a rich popular girl like her to throw a fit over not winning and the fact that she was congratulating her was messing with her perceptions of how the Heathers were
Mac opened up to her about the Heathers and how Duke and Chandler just use their bitchiness as a front and how Duke really does feel bad about how she treated her in the past
In return Martha vented about how the Heathers had treated her and how abandoned she felt by Veronica choosing them over her and Mac apologized and told her about how they met and why she actually joined
Team;
Ampharos (Mega) - Starter, Ampharos is a common guardian pokemon at the ranch her dad owns so she was given a Mareep to start out with
Flareon - One of the Eevees that her dad bred, she was given as a present
Alolan Ninetales - Another present from her dad
Bewear - During her journey, she found a orphaned and injured Stufful alone and dying, she nursed it back to health and it joined her team
Gengar - Found pulling pranks on people while they were at a Ranger station, the Rangers + Duke stopped it and it took a liking to Mac
Lapras - It was being attacked by some Sharpedo, and after the Heathers defeated them, it joined Mac's team as thanks
JD: Pokemon Trainer
He's on the run from his Dad, Big Bud Dean, who is the leader of Team Rocket
His dad uses pokemon who are able to explode to threaten people into handing over their pokemon, money or whatever he's after
Bc of this, JD developed a fear of any pokemon that can use explosion, like Golem, Electrode, etc.
He wants to confront his dad, but bc of his fear he can't do it alone and is journeying for strong trainers who can help him
Finds Martha shortly after the initial confrontation with the Heathers and befriends her and joins her on her travels
He shouts super loudly during her contests, to the point of embarrassing Martha
Falls in love with Veronica when they first meet
This starts a rivalry with him and Chandler, and he always beats her in battle because of how she treated her pokemon
Once she starts treating them right, she starts to win against him
Tries to get Veronica to leave the Heathers and apologize to Martha
He doesn't actually hate the Heathers, he just dislikes how they changed Veronica, at least from what Martha told him
Team;
Hydreigon - Starter, it has rage issues and JD rarely brings it out
Tyrantrum - Found as a Jaw fossil in the same cave Veronica found her Sail fossil
Vanilluxe - FRRRREEEEEZZZZZEEEEEEE YOOOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRRR BRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNN but fr it makes slushies which he couldn't otherwise get while not in towns
Lucario (Mega)
Basculegion - Caught at the same time that Veronica got her Hisuian Liligant
Crobat - Caught during an argument with Chandler over how she treats her Pokemon, arguing that JD had no room to judge her bc he wasn't friends with his Pokemon either, so he caught a Golbat and said that by the next time they met it would be a Crobat (bc Golbat evolves via friendship), and sure enough it was
Martha Dunnstock: Contest Star
When she found out that Veronica was going to join the Heathers, she became livid that she was losing her best friend to the Heathers for a second time
This inspires her to become Contest Champion by herself, to prove that she doesn't need friends to succeed
That was the first time in her life that she had stood up for herself, and while it felt good, she regretted the way she broke her friendship with Veronica and after she realized that Veronica probably didn't realize that joining the Heathers meant abandoning her
But she decided that she will not go back to Veronica unless she apologizes first
Prefers Fairy Types
Team;
Gardevoir (Mega)
Galarian Rapidash - Won as a prize from the Contest that Mac had joined earlier, Mac hoped to get it to give to her Dad to breed more bc Galarian Rapidash are hard to come by. Martha had wanted one since she was a kid and was part of why she worked so hard to win that contest
Sylveon - Evolved from the Eevee Mac gave her after their heart-to-heart
Mimikyu - She found it all scared and alone, and she related to it's story of being a Pokemon that disguised itself so that people would love it, and it joined her team
