Happy New Year Lovelies!

Well, happier for some than for others, it seems. Eagan Connolly is raising quite the fuss about the disappearance of someone named Will Monroe—details are light on who exactly Will is but apparently he's known to some as a local prostitute. If you see her hobbling around, maybe keep a wide berth, since they’ve been heard muttering to themselves in public. If it was something worth worrying about, the police or Mayor Nat herself would have informed us, of course.

We have multiple witnesses having seen what looked like a very upset Christopher Winters and a very concerned Jim Dunford in town the other day. They were arguing about what sounded like a cheeky New Years Eve kiss that they shared. Jim seemed to be trying to placate Christopher, who was not having it, shoving the man away and stalking off. No news yet as to whether Emma Dunford is aware of this. For all we know, this might be her way of having her cake and eating it too. Christopher and Emma are also expecting a child, which begs the question, is now really the time to try something new?

Speaking of their upcoming adoption, the baby’s birth mother has also been on her own romantic adventure. Josie Reigh and Gabriel Westfall are official, at least if the people overhearing her referring to him as her boyfriend are to be believed. The two seem to be quite happy with each other. Alas, not everyone seems to be as over the moon as they are. Nico Garcia stills seems hung up over Miss Reigh, which is no surprise, since he always was the more sensitive brother. He has repeatedly been seen intoxicated at the Sasquatch and was even heard propositioning one of their bartenders. One lucky contender who took him up on the offer is Jessica Sinclair. That girl's taste has always been questionable—but perhaps this is the one who will break her streak of heartbreak?

The younger Garcia brother isn't the only one moping and drinking his sorrows away at the bar. Theodore Collins has become the latest member of the lonely hearts club. Many have remarked he's been overly temperamental at work with some adding in that he and Kirby have officially called it quits. However, seems they're both quick to move on. Theodore was spotted hitting on Morgan Vovk, who took him home "as a friend"—you can take that as you will. Meanwhile, Kirby has been seen multiple times leaving the drive-in with Edward Langston. Now, sonsidering he should be focused on helping raise his goddaughter, you would think he'd reconsider his priorities. Kirby is fun but they're hardly the person you'd want around when you're trying to be responsible.

Here are two portraits that were recently discovered in the attic of Collinwood, the Collins Family ancestral home. The subject of both painting is Lt. Nathan Forbes.

Family records indicate Forbes and Barnabas Collins were close friends in the late 1790s. But their relationship deteriorated shortly before Barnabas departed for England.

Later Forbes married Millicent Collins, Barnabas’ cousin. But the marriage was annulled by Joshua Collins.

The two groups were crammed into (Y/n) and Stanley's bedroom, even with it being the master bedroom the amount of people was still noticeable. (Y/n) sat at the vanity getting ready, Stanley watching the same way she'd gotten ready for him before.

Devon and Jake entered the room together joining the others. "So, turns out Grant is more than your average fuckboy." "Oh?" "I mean, he still is a fuckboy, but he follows a lot of weird, offbeat accounts about conspiracy theories and obscure historical facts. (Y/n) turned to fully face him. "Sounds like you wanna slide into his DM's Dev." Causing Devon to scrunch up his face in reply.

"Are you sure he doesn't do that for show?" Connor started, eyes glued to his phone with one of Grant's socials pulled up. "I mean he posts in the White House a lot, like a lot a lot." Lauren looking over his shoulder. "He also follows a lot of accounts about grief."

"Oh"

Cara stepped across the room towards (Y/n). "We thought you should tackle this two ways, one; you look hot." "Thank you." (Y/n) gave a short nod in her direction. "Two, instead of fully-blown sexpot, what if you focus on, like, your feelings? Try to connect with Grant over his grief, about his dead brother, minus the fact that your grief is about almost losing Stanley, the man you fully live with and everything." Leaning against the wall, Stanley offered up a short sarcastic wave.

Pip agreed from her spot next to Ravi, nodding. "Yeah, I like that." Connor moved to start setting up the ring light in preparation, stopping when he was finished to give (Y/n) a thumbs up from behind the camera.

"Hi. My name is (Y/n), I'm reaching out to Grant Collins, at 1600 Fairview Avenue because, I need help." She continued her spiel about Pip's missing persons case.

(Y/n) sat in the middle of her and Stanley's bed, phone in hand, with Cara and Stanley on one side and Jake and Devon on the other, the rest finding various places around the room to idle.

"Hey girl? Really? That's his opener?" Stanley cringed. Devon speaking from her other side. "He probably sent that to 25 other girls today."

"Those girls aren't me. Now can the master please work in silence?" (Y/n) said focused between the two boys as they shrugged at eachother. There was a long pause before Stanley spoke up again. "Seems like it's going good." Before (Y/n) shot him a look, knowing exactly what his tone meant. "Going well Stanley" and Stanley looked down at his hands resting in his lap.

"Okay. I'm pulling the trigger" She started typing, narrating as she went.

'I really like your energy'

'We should meet in person.'

'You, me, and my friends.'

'Tomarrow maybe?'

Everybody leaned in closer, anxiously waiting for a reply from Grant, almost jumping when it came though.

'Come to Balzac's coffee shop at DuPont Circle, 3 pm.'

Greene's cowardly hunk star was purportedly based on Victor #Mature who'd starred in Samson and Delilah in 1949. Radd makes his second appearance‚ having guested back in 2.2 where like here he'd #played a movie studio exec (tho he's going more for laughs here than his repulsive blackmailer in the earlier ep). it's all quite slight #and quite frothy and there's no real danger for anyone at any point. oh also Lois Maxwell reappears‚ having played a wicked step mother at #the start of this season‚ here playing a glamorous Saint girl. that's range darling! and ofc she'd be Moore's Bond costar later on

Robin Ellis (Ross Poldark) has shared on his Facebook page that the original Poldark aired for the first time on October 5th, 1975.

He writes:

"...We had no idea that it would catch on as it did...With fond memories of a wonderful cast who were like a great, extended family. Thinking especially of those no longer with us: Angharad Rees, Ralph Bates, Richard Morant, Paul Curran, Mary Wimbush, Frank Middlemass, Forbes Collins - and of course, Winston Graham himself, and his wife Jean..."

Poldark ran for 29 episodes over two series on the BBC. Its audience peaked at 15 million, was sold to over forty countries, and it became the biggest selling costume drama on video until Pride and Prejudice (1995).

9. Did you get into any new genres?

American history nonfiction was the big one. With a special focus on the 1840s through the 1880s. Never thought I'd be so excited about a book/historical artifact covering the election and assassination of President James Garfield.

11. What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read?

This is a tougher question to answer when you read mostly old books. I'll interpret this as "favorite book you only read now that most people read at a younger age" and I'll give this title to Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. I was shocked by just how good the writing was.

12. Any books that disappointed you?

I did not love "Mr. Harrison's Confessions" by Elizabeth Gaskell anywhere near as much as I wanted to. The plot was very thin and not all that amusing.

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

I was surprised by how much I liked Little Lord Fauntleroy, given the image I had of it as "sickly sweet Victorian children's story". I was shocked by how deeply invested I was in the characters of The Law and the Lady (and shocked that a Wilkie Collins book wasn't too wordy for me to read in print!) I was also shocked by how much I loved Daisy Miller and Washington Square by Henry James, since those are the type of sad, pretentious, literary stories I usually hate.
