Btw Maggy back then was a lot like Star Boy too (to put it in perspective), someone who just wants to help people, and Maggy thought that building his kingdom that would just be a safe place for anyone far and wide. HE HAD GOOD INTENTIONS, just that some people took advantage of that to hurt the people he was protecting.

Something I'd like to note is that he still can be a good person, he just needs some guidance. Same goes with Amaya. THEY CAN BE GOOD PEOPLE, just that they need to actually accept the help or realize what they do now is just wrong (aka instead of protecting them like he did back then, he is just causing more harm than good).

If Kon draws I apologize. Most of my knowledge of him comes from the Young Justice cartoon and just from the first two posts I have seen of comic Kon panels, I know I am woefully under informed about him. I need to find a good YJ run, but from what I understand the new writer apparently treats the characters like crap besides Cassie and that could just be how the ppl who’s reviews I’ve read have seen it and not be the case, but I really am tired of writers who hate or don’t know the characters writing them.

Ohhh, don't worry about it. I'm also not an expert on Kon (or really anybody), I just thought the two issues in which there is like a little side-plot of Kyle teaching Kon how to draw was pretty cute hahaha (it's in Green Lantern 1990 #94 and Superboy 1994 #46 if you want to check it out and here are some panels others posted).

If you're curious about good YJ runs though, I think the original (Young Justice 1998) is probably still the best one and the one everyone really gets the comic characterisation of their dynamic for! I haven't read it yet (no time T.T) but it's definitely on my reading list and I've seen quite a few panels, many of which are very cute and fun~

A friend of mine just gave me two pretty nice compliments. I’d contacted them, asking if they wanted some lazy holubtschi, as my low-meat version can’t really be made in smaller batches or frozen, so it’s a bit of a pain. I got an enthusiastic yes, and brought some over last night. This morning I get an e-mail saying that the casserole was very nice. It reminded them of cabbage rolls.

This was lovely for two reasons - one, they hadn’t had any idea what holubtschi were (I figured they did, based on former roommates), and just trusted my cooking enough to blindly accept. Two, despite not being primed for what it was supposed to be, I obviously got the recipe correct enough, even with my changes, to make it obvious what it was supposed to taste like.

There are two things you need to know, here.

First: There’s a style of Greek pottery that was popular during the Hellenic period, for which most of the surviving examples are from southern Italy. We call them ‘fish plates’ because, well, they’re plates, and they’re decorated with fish (and other marine life).

They’re very cool. We’re not 100% sure what they were for, because most of the surviving ones were found as grave goods, but that’s a different post.

The second thing you need to know is that when we (Classics/archaeology/whatever as a discipline) have a collection of artefacts, like vases, sculptures, paintings, etc. and we do not know the name of the artist, but we’re pretty sure one artist made X, Y and Z artefacts, we come up with a name for that artist. There are a whole bunch of things that could be the source for the name, e.g. where we found most of their work (The Dipylon Master) or the potter with whom they worked (the Amasis Painter), a favourite theme (The Athena Painter), the Museum that ended up with the most famous thing they did (The Berlin Painter) or a notable aspect of their style. Like, say, The Eyebrow Painter.
