a/n 💌: i am back!!!! this is super late but a fellow fanfic author invited me to write a fanfic for valentines but um..your girl kinda forgot. so here it is! enjoy! sorry its so short, i am trying to get back into writing! i hope y'all like this, its been a hot minute since i have written fanfic!

"so, do you like it doll?" dallas asks nervously, he is rarely nervous

you and dallas were currently at y'all's favorite diner. in y'all's booth. dallas had just given you a promise ring. you were shocked. you didn't think that the dallas winston would be into this kind of thing.

you look up at him and nod, smiling. your eyes are a bit watery, you think its just from the overflow of emotions you have felt all day.

this had been the best valentines day ever.

"i really like it, babe," you say smiling then you glance back at the promise ring on your left middle finger. its an infinity sign ring and it fits you perfectly.

"its my promise to...." dallas began, he cleared his throat and his face grew red ever so slightly, then he proceeded to look down. he mumbled. "you know love you forever or whatever, doll."

you were grinning from ear to ear now, partly because of how sweet the gesture was but also because you knew that meant a lot coming from him.

"i love you more." you joke

dallas looks at you with his goofy grin you have grown so fond of.

"no way in hell is that possible doll." dallas says chuckling

the waiter finally brought your food to y'all, you had been waiting thirty-five minutes. far too long for a local town diner.

"what took so damn long?" dallas said to the waiter, returning to his old self and not the lovey dovey mess he was only a minute ago.

"sorry, the kitchen is really backed up." the waiter says handing us our food.

"sure it is, this place is packed." dallas says sarcastically as he bites into his burger. you hold down a laugh, as you didn't want to embarrass the waiter further.

the diner was empty besides the normal 8 o'clock crowd, which was just a few young adults and old people.

the waiter walks away, and you start laughing, you catch dallas looking at you with seemingly stars in his eyes.

"what?" you ask, your laugh dying down

"nothing, doll" he says smirking then goes back to eating

"happy valentines" you say grinning

"happy valentines, doll" dallas says and he bends over the table and kiss you softly

Hypnovember 2023 Master Post.

This year was my 5th Hypnovember! To be honest, it felt particularly hard-fought since I had a lot of life stuff happening in the background this month. (Nothing traumatic, don't worry.) Tats, I adore this question. I'm going to be that person and say "I love them all!" But I have a few I am giving a little extra love to right now.

The Price of Pegging. The only complete work I have published. A love letter to myself and my gender identity, wrapped up in some steamy hot smut. 😄

Everything else is WIPs, surprising no one who knows me. 😉 These are in no specific order.

Corporal Distraction - I love this premise. I love a "forbidden" romance and the consequences that come with it. I love that it's got a twist to it. I love the aesthetics and tweaks I've given both canon and OC characters while keeping to their original source material.

Brix - The first CoD fanfic I started. Inspired by @the-californicationist's "Gunslinger" (AO3) and Thing's "How Many Days I'll Bleed" (AO3) stories. I consider these two authors to be two dear close friends of mine as well. Also, a bit of catharsis for my shitty experience working in the orchard industry.

Museum Muse - Puppy play. Kink Dynamics. Fat OC. Art as a means of learning to be loved. Just...ooey gooey cuteness. (Needs serious re-working, but I adore the premise.)

Fruit Cocktails - I adore the idea of different species of bats being vampires. It's a fun premise and one I want to explore further. I just need to improve at my murder mystery skills. The layers of nuance and worldbuilding I have here are delicious.

His hands went from Hiccup’s hair to his shoulders, then were going down his body over his tunic (the best made one he’d been able to find on such short notice), exploring. His fingers hooked under his belt and tugged. “I am wondering something myself.”

Hiccup raised his eyebrows. “Um… what?” He still felt so odd about this whole situation, even as the king was making him feel all hot inside.

Viggo leaned in and licked at the shell of his left ear.

“Do you have freckles on every inch of skin?”

OK! You guys have to trust me with this one: this series. I am not even in the fandom but I watched jacksepticeye's playthrough religiously when it first came out and after rewatching it a few years ago, i decided to checkout ao3 to see what was being written. When I saw that this was a timeloop? Literally that's all it took for me to start reading, couldn't care less about the rest. It has my favorite depiction of the trope AND the aftermath of being in a timeloop that i've ever read. I fell in love with all the works in the series and i reread them all the time. Give it a shot, maybe watch someone play the game first for some background if you don't have any.

A lot of human anatomy questions, especially about the skeleton lmao. In my development of Charlie's slime biology, I had to figure out a lot of stuff so i'd constantly research what bones can people function without and how vital are others. Like what would happen if someone removed the pelvis bone or how many ribs can be missing before it becomes a serious issue. I look so suspicious all the time...

I will share one of my favorite taekwondo stories from many years ago because I think it is funny. Two different short dads I was sparring with managed to accidentally nail me in the face with the same kick on two different occasions, months apart. (You cannot hit the face in taekwondo but going for a headshot it happens a lot.) The first time miraculously didn't knock out any teeth but my upper lip got stuck in my braces and I had to rip it out while laughing maniacally. I looked like a corpse for weeks. The second time was straight in the nose, so my nose is still slightly crooked and makes a crunchy noise if I wiggle it to this day.

Both of the dads felt terrible but I was a teenage boy so I thought blood on my uniform was cool.

The "short dad curse" was real for a bit there and the only reason it hasn't continued is because I am now the short dad myself.

Don't have one, but one of these days I want to write something more hopeful, something along the lines of a 2010s-era superhero cartoon but as a novel. Don't have a plot for that one yet. It's rotating in my head, though.

One of the best pieces of writing advice I ever heard was "give yourself permission to suck." When you sit down to write you can't be fixated on making it perfect the first time. All your first draft has to do is exist. Anything you write down you can change later, but you gotta get it down first.

My roommate and I keep saying "inch resting" and "ingredience" to each other.

Non-romantic, Yussa and Marion are same-town pen pals after C2.

Marion sent him a letter thanking him for his hospitality and kindness towards her daughter and her friends (spinning the Nein taking refuge from Trent by going to Yussa's tower in a Very Nice light considering how Yussa was in the middle of his astral nap, all 'they trust you, you have my gratitude'), and Yussa, not wanting to spurn someone of Marion's high standing and reputation amongst the Nicodranan commonfolk (i.e. she's not with the Concord or the Uludans xD) by ignoring her outright, sends a reply about as terse-yet-kind about the Nein as you'd expect. Marion is amused that the unreachable mage of Tidepeak Tower has a soft spot for the Nein and sends another letter, maybe with a genuine but tongue-in-cheek compliment about his interior design or something. Yussa replies again and the rest is history. Wensforth is glad Yussa has made another friend and enjoys chatting with Marion when he stops by to deliver a letter.

'History of pencils' was a fun one for We Should Explore Other Things! I wanted to know if graphite naturally occurs in forms compatible with pencil use (It does! There are deposits (a deposit? there's a huge large one in England somewhere at least) that are pure enough to just chop off a bit and use, but I think I also saw a thing about graphite powder being reconstituted with clay for use or something like that?)

Also for Touching Sentiments as a whole, one thing I personally don't think it's weird, but 'love', maybe? Etymology, translations, fiction and non-fiction books, essays, book chats, forums, discussion blogs- there's no end to people defining and describing their own individual and communal understandings of love and it's such a fun thing to get in the weeds about, but it always strikes me as something others see as strange, saying 'oh yeah I've been researching love' idk xD I'm still mucking about with it though xD

🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

This needs to be heavily edited but this is from a sukufushi fic I've been veryyyy slowly working on:

Sukuna's heart stops as he catches sight of the person so delicately playing this score.

It's hardly even been a second since he's laid his eyes on him, but every cell in his body is already starving for more of him.

Sukuna swallows thickly, carefully taking in the scene unfolding before him. Long, coordinated fingers dance across the piano, hitting the keys with a grace Sukuna would have never imagined to be humanly possible. The pianist’s body moves to the rhythm of the [adjective] tune, dark strands of hair gently swaying across his forehead as [something more movement].

Their gazes finally meet, and Sukuna knows he's done for. His heart loudly thumps against his ribcage, threatening to burst through as green eyes further capture him into the moment they're sharing, driving him deeper into the shadows the pianist is painting with the [adjective] sound of his music. Sukuna feels as though he's lost in a sea of darkness, the glint in the pianist’s eyes [something akin to a lighthouse making him feel safe]. He lets the [adjective] chords (of the score? Of the music? Of the piece? Idk) crash against him like tidal waves, making him drift further from the shore.

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

That's a difficult one, but probably sweetest blossoms, which I wrote for my friend Asa. I'm usually not into historical AUs but she requested one, and I surprisingly had a lot of fun writing it and look back on the process pretty fondly.

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

Never tbh (unless proofreading to edit counts). If I read my own fics I would probably end up deleting them out of self doubt so I just let them sit there on ao3 for people to enjoy lmao

📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?

Not really, unless non-fiction books or articles about my professional field count.

💭 What inspires you and your writing?

It's mostly the media I consume that inspires me, whether it's music or anime/manga I'm watching/reading. Sometimes I'm also inspired by some stuff that happens to me irl or situations I'm in (there's a particular wip I'm working on that comes to mind when I say this, and if you end up reading it and know enough about me you'll probably catch it whenever I post that, lol).

💡How many WIPs do you currently have?

10 that I know for sure I'm not gonna end up scrapping. More if you count the ones that are on the fence, but I don't wanna go there 🤪

📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?

For Barakamon, I recommend ahknee (@misocucumber) always, especially this fic.

Other fics that have really stuck with me are run the red out by saltwreath for inuokko, the proper care of lilacs by teasomnia for sukufushi, anything by ietjesiobhan for haikyuu. And there was this one fake dating kuroken fic that I read a while ago, in which Kuroo and Kenma broke up years ago but never told anyone and get invited to kagehina's wedding and decide to pretend they're still dating for the occasion, but I can't remember the author or title and I don't have time to look for it rn, but that one stuck with me for a long time.

There are so many I'd like to recommend, I should really start coming up with rec lists.

🤖 Are non-fandom friends aware that you write fanfic?

Only my partner and a handful of online friends (i met them in anime circles i guess they could count as fandom friends as well, but they're not into it like that so idk)

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

That it doesn't need to be perfect on the first try, and that a draft is just that—a draft. You can always come back to edit it later and improve the things you don't like; that doesn't make you a bad writer or untalented, everyone does that.

💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

Mutual pining with 2 idiots who think the other would never be into them

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

I honestly don't have a preference, if someone were to make fanart of my work I'd be eternally grateful regardless of the fic or scene the artist would pick!
