"hey" you waved, when you saw cal entering the tent that you shared. a soft "hi, sweetheart" escaped his lips. he looked down, just like you, both nervous and anxious about what might happen tomorrow, the day of the date of death.

you patted the place next to you delicately, indicating him to lie down next to you. once he did, you wrapped your arms around his slim torso, feeling his heart pounding hard on his chest.

"i'm afraid. i'm afraid of dying. i'm afraid of losing you again" cal whispered. you could feel his voice crack slightly at the statement. you just looked at him and hugged him even tighter.

"me too, my love, i am too" you confessed, feeling the tears pool in your longing eyes. "but let's try not to think about that. i prefer to take comfort here, in the now. i want to take comfort in you"

cal just looked at you, you could see the fear clearly in his teary eyes. "i don't know what tomorrow holds" you continued to speak softly "but i'm sure that if we die, if we don't, whatever ending awaits us, we'll be together. no matter death, no matter time, i'll be with you, cal stone."

cal smiled at your words. you felt it ease slightly under your touch "i'm sure of that, honey" he took your hand leaving a soft kiss on the back of it.

"if this is really our last night... i want you to know that you are the love of my life, i don't know what i would do without you, my love. i promise that no matter what happens tomorrow, we will be together" he spoke to you cradling your face and leaving a chaste kiss on your lips.

you both relaxed, regulating your breaths, synchronizing them, with the moonlight illuminating the tent. that night you promised to love each other under any circumstances and hours later, cal got up, having that promise as his main motivation.

when his dad begged him not to go for him, for his sisters, for you, he remembered it again. "this is for her, this is for us" were his last words before disappearing in the middle of the blue column.

I’m going absolutely insane over the last episode of Manifest.

I’m kinda sad that Grace, Cal, Olive, and Jared don’t remember what happened bc now everyone who returned from the plane are the only ones who know and they’ll carry the memory of those 5 1/2 years with them forever.

Also Vance is going to be investigating the disappearance of the 11 passengers who failed judgement and I’m so curious to see how that’s going to turn out, I’d LOVE to read some good fanfic about that!

It was hella weird when TJ came back and ran into Olive cuz she’s back to being a little girl and he’s like, a high school graduate or college student? But I breathed a sigh of relief when a girl his age was introduced to him as a love interest.

-you were absolutely flustered for the rest of the flight and he knew it

-when the plane landed and you were all just waiting you went back with your dad and mick and cal so you didn’t end up talking again

-flash forward to a few years later when Eagan shows up at your house to help with the lion calling

-he immediately remembers you obviously

-and you remember him

-the hot guy from the plane who you totally haven’t had a crush on since 828

-when you’re alone with him in the kitchen he remembers your name and seat number

-and the book you were reading

-uh oh

-“pretty girl likes her smut huh?”

-“you’re an ass”

-but you were literally blushing

-from there you guys become best frenemies

-you’re always bickering about something

-he calls you pebble. because you’re a stone. but cuter.
