I remember once getting quite drunk as I watched Midsomer Murders and coming up with an elaborate theory about how Fleur Perkins is actually the literal angel of death.
I stand by my whimsical theory.

hello, it’s your local shitposter, Hatchets! I’m back with (shocked pikachu face) another shitpost!
Midsomer Murders should do an episode related to hot peppers 🌶️
John will force Jamie to taste test every species, because it’s John. Fleur will shock everyone by being complete tolerant of spicy stuff, and she’ll down a ghost pepper in front of John to scare the shit out of him. Sarah is there for moral support with the milk.
The murderer will turn out to be some dude who was pressed about his friend-turned-rival stealing the fame for a new species of spicy pepper that he bred.
That is all.
(Btw, can you tell I love spicy food? Lol)

Anyone else not surprised that Fleur was part of a drag act. I would have been disappointed if she wasn't 😆

It’s nearly 3 am, I’m pissed off cause I can’t sleep and I can’t find my crisps, so here is some baseless Midsomer stuff:
Jamie has tattoos.
Dan did an art degree at university.
Fleur likes Iron Maiden.
Dan adopted a German Shepard puppy after he moved away.
Ben plays Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Jamie plays Warhammer 40K.
Ben and Jamie often have in-depth discussions about their Warhammer habits.
Charlie knits his own jumpers sometimes.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

John Barnaby is honestly replaceable in my head. What I want is a universe where Fleur Perkins worked with Tom Barnaby. Especially in the seasons with Troy and Scott—that dynamic would be off the walls hilarious and fascinating
Ps: i will write up my whimsical, drunk night inspired Hot Take galaxy brained theory on why I think Fleur is the literal angel of death/grim reaper/ferryman

Welcome to Letters2fiction!
The concept here is to send in a question or a letter request, and you’ll get a response from your fictional character of choice, from the list below. Please stick to the list I’ve made, but of course, you can ask if there’s some other characters I write for, I don’t always remember all the shows, movies or books I’ve consumed over the years and I’m sure I’m missing a lot 😅

Part 9 of A Treatise of Embroidery, crochet, and knitting with illustrations
By George C. Perkins, Anna Grayson Ford, and M. Heminway & Sons Silk co circa 1899
Tumblr media
Please note, this book was written in 1899, and as such uses a racist term to refer to the dyes that were used for the thread. If you'd like to read more about this period in time, the term, and the stereotypes that the Victorians had, I've actually linked the wikipedia article here that goes more in depth. It's not the end all be all of it, but it's a good starting place for anyone wanting to educate themselves on the topic. Page 32. M. Heminway & Sons.
Forget-Me-Not Design.
There is an illustration here of a doily with forgetmenots embroidered onto it in different variations. It has a scalloped edging that has been used for the previous patterns as well.
Materials. — M. Heminway & Sons' Oriental Dyes, Japan and Spanish Floss.
Flowers. — Blue — 565, 564 1/2, 564 Japan Floss. Buds. — 581, 0582 Japan Floss. Centre. —646, 648 Japan Floss. Leaves. — 370, 371, 372, 373. Scallop. — 691, 0682 Spanish Floss, and 408 1/2 Japan Floss.
Directions. — A quick and effective way of working this flower is to take six strands of blue Japan Floss, making a French knot on each petal (see page 8). One knot forms the petal. Make a yellow knot for the centre. Work the buds of the pink shades, one shade of pink for each bud. Embroider the leaves solid, using one strand of silk.
Scallop. — Button-hole stitch with Spanish Floss, 691, 0682. For the plain scallop use the white ; for the ornamental use with one 0682. Afterward outlining the interior scroll with one strand, 408 1/2, Japan Floss.
This is the shade number/letter chart for the iris design.
FLOWER.
Purple: 1475 is shade number 1, 1477 is 2, 1479 is 3, 1481 is 4, 1483 is 5, 1485 is 6.
LEAVES AND STEMS"

On the lower petals for the tip use darker shades, 1485, 1483, 1481, 1479, 1477, 1475. Pollen of yellow, 646, 648, 650, French knots. Buds — Green, 436, 437, 438, or 0428, 428, 429 1/2. Use purple, 1479, 1481, on tip of bud. Shade yellow iris same as purple ; make the pollen of green, 428, 429, French knots. In the white iris use white, 691, for the entire petals, shading into the white Nile green, 0682, 682, 683 ; also a slight tinge of purple, 1477, on the outer edge of petals, or pink, 524, 0525.
Leaves. — Lightest shade, 436, 437, on tip of some ; others 438 and 439 shading brown with the green, 230, 230^. Vary the leaves by using 370, 371, 372 in one leaf;
There is an embroider by letters/numbers diagram of Iris Design No. 215. 22 inch. There are two leaves, a full bloom, and a bud with some smaller leaves on the stems.
Starting with the bud, which is the highest point on the diagram on the upper right, we will be going row by row downwards:
Row 1: A, 2, A. Row 2: 3, B. Row 3: 4. Row 5: E, B, C. Row 6: E. Row 7: D, D, D.
The stem, which is done in A, goes down a short ways before disappearing into a pair of tiny leaves of which one is done in tip = E and base = F, and the other is tip = A, and base = B before continuing into another stem that is done in B that disappears behind an iris petal.
For the Iris, there are 4 wavy petals on top, and two flopped over petals on the bottom, the right of which the stem disappears behind.
Starting with that petal and going clockwise:
Row 1, tip: 6. Row 2: 4, 5. Row 3: 3, 4. Row 4: 2, 3. Row 5: 1. Row 6 underside: 4. Row 7 underside emerging from the receptacle: 6.
Second flopped petal to the left of this one.
Underside of petal, going vertically from the base: 6, 5, 4.
Row 1 starting from the petal fold: 2. Row 2: 1, 1. Row 3: 2. Row 4: 2, 3. Row 5: 3, 4. Row 6: 5. Row 7: 6.
Now onto the leftmost vertical petal. starting from the base:
Row 1: 6. Row 2: 6. Row 3: 4, 5. Row 4: 3. Row 5, with one edge slightly furled: 1, 1. Row 6, tip: 2.
The next petal going clockwise just peeps out from behind the previous one so that only the top half is visible.
Row 1 base: 5. Row 2: 4. Row 3: 3.
The next petal:
Row 1: 6. Row 2: 4, 5. Row 3: 3. Row 4: 2. Row 5: 1.
The rightmost vertical petal:
Row 1: 6. Row 2: 5. Row 3: 4. Row 4: 3. Row 5 in which the left edge is slightly furled: 3, 2. Row 6: 1.
onward to the receptacle of the flower from which the iris petals emerge. it is a sort of enlongated and pointed heart shape, with the left point being A, the right B, and the bottom C. The stem continues downwards in D before slipping under a leaf that has a similar pointed heart shape, this time the tips in E and the base in D.The stem continues in D all the way down.
Two long slender leaves, one on either side of the iris, come down and their stems cross behind the bottom of the iris stem to make a graceful spray.
Starting with the bottom of the left leaf and working upwards: Row 1: D. Row 2: C, D. Row 3: B, C. Row 4: A, B. Row 5: A. Row 6: A.
The right leaf: Row 1: D. Row 2: D, C. Row 3: C, D, B, E. Row 4: B. Row 5: F, A.
