Hello! I hope you’re an amazing day :)

I want to ask if you know any good metas/analysis about Kakashi out there? Or perhaps have you written posts about him? So far I’ve only read one that were very… ooc to say the least. They were less analysis than they were fan-pages where fans praise Kakashi for every single thing he does and completely ignore the times he might’ve not been the best person in the world. They agree with every little thing he does even when he contradicts himself, and then act like they love Kakashi for his flaws (even if they apparently don’t think he has any) and use the joker card "he’s traumatized" to justify his actions. And I understand why him being traumatized would impact the way he acts, of course… but still, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t criticize his behavior when necessary

If you have good reads about him I would be very thankful if you could respond, because right now I haven’t found anything very interesting yet 😅

Also I wanted to say that I really like your drawings, you’re so talented and creative

Kakashi analyses? Hm, I don’t immediately remember any but I stopped reading them a while ago for the reasons you state, but also because of the complete opposite where the only focus is on criticism and nothing else, so I can't help you with that. I rarely talk about him. I like Kakashi a lot but whenever I do say anything, regardless of it being positive, there’s always either a cowardly anti or fan indirectly responding to it and making their own posts starting with some sort of “omg I can’t believe people think Kakashi-!!!!” or “I can’t believe people don’t see that Kakashi is-!!!!” And then proceed to cherrypick moments while failing to understand the context of the original question I responded to in the first place. Moments that I already acknowledged but won’t (dis)prove the conclusion by itself. Meh, it's not worth it. It’s like the entire point flew over their heads and I’m not even sure whether it’s deliberate or not. Kinda like grabbing a blob of butter and smacking some flour on the side claiming that it’s a cookie now. Like, what are you saying? 🙄 Okay, okay, petty rant over.

I mean....... 👀😬😬... I think it goes both ways though because this is very much a fandom thing and uh.. certainly not only Kakashi’s 💀

Let's not think too long about it xD Just saying that the Naruto-fandom in general is very weird about which character is ‘allowed’ to do what in regard to a trauma response or what coping mechanism is okay, if it's even recognized as such. Yeah characters having flaws are so crucial. I don't see why it's always seen as criticism or something negative when you point something out. I could write entire essays on Naruto's flaws which.. despite them usually being limitations or something to overcome, in the end these traits were proven very necessary. For example his arrogance is seen as a flaw, both in the fandom and in the story. He even got lectured about it by Itachi. Being arrogant and not engaging with teamwork ('relying on comrades') by default is a character flaw for stories like these especially for a main character, but it's not like you can blame Naruto for being forced to only rely on himself while growing up. It's not his fault for being abandoned. He copes by believing in himself ("believe it!") and his own efforts because that's the only thing he could somewhat control thinking he'd succeed if only he works himself to the bone and finally gain some acknowledgement like a human being. Although he'd learn quickly that it's very conditional. In that sense, yes, his flaw is justified through trauma. Aaaand, it has purpose. It's not a bad thing. It’s depth and complexity that help make a character interesting and flaws can make them more relatable to the audience if done well. Without flaw there is no conflict and thus, no story. It’s otherwise nothing more than a powerpoint where a meaningless sequence of events is presented, but it won’t make you feel anything. You’re not engaged because you don’t care about what happens next. Nothing is solved because it wouldn’t be necessary and the author has nothing to tell nor would it be convincing if they had. Had Kakashi been flawless I wouldn’t even have liked him because these Mary Sue characters are boring as hell. Of course, it depends on context.. is it relevant to the story? Is it necessary to play their role? Does it have any impact? Is it consistent? How does it contribute? etc- I especially appreciate Kakashi from a storytelling perspective but I understand that not everyone wants to shove it all under that category. But answer questions like that and you can figure out whether something is worth exploring to see if it's a valid point of critique.

Martial Master Asumi ch.3 thoughts

[DILF: Dad I’d LIke to Fight]

While the first two chapters were heavily focused on characterizing our main cast, this chapter focuses more on the meta of MMA, which is a very necessary shift for a sports manga to make considering that it’s about the sport

I really appreciate seeing Asumi analyzing and strategizing in real time, especially since it’s made so clear that he has no idea what he’s doing

Not that he isn’t capable of thinking on his feet and succeeding, as he does react well and earn praise from Okiba’s father, but his inexperience is on full display, giving us a clear baseline for the improvement he’s going to be undergoing as the story goes on

There are two ends of the spectrum for protagonists in sports manga: the genius and the rookie. You can either follow someone who’s amazing at the sport from the get-go and gets to show off against everyone else while imparting some kind of philosophical truth to everyone else with their skill, or you can follow someone with no experience or interest learning said philosophical truth from everyone else as they catch up

Hinomaru Zumou’s Hinomaru was the former, teaching other geniuses the value of perseverance, while Asumi is the latter, though exactly what lesson he has to learn really hasn’t been developed much yet. I’m guessing it will be something along the line of actually embracing his life instead of running from it

Asumi learning that MMA is fun is an important step, but interestingly it’s been portrayed as exclusively negative thus far, with a tendency to go too far and hurt his opponents. He’s been stopped every time so far, but sooner or later there will certainly be a time where no one is around to keep him in check and he’ll either really hurt someone or have the strength to self-regulate, and that’s going to be a huge moment for him

I also like the foreshadowing for the fingerlock from last chapter, where his grandpa beat him with a fingerlock, so naturally he tried to do the same thing to his opponent when he had the opportunity, not realizing that it was a foul. I think he also took his grandpa’s advice about “feeling the flow of power” instead of just “grabbing at anything,” considering that he was able to lead Okiba’s father into a position that would let him bring him to the ground and then consistently counter his attempts to break his holds

I do think that Kawada could have illustrated the choreography just a bit better, I feel like I couldn’t really follow the action very well. I was actually under the impression that Asumi “grabbing at anything” was him trying to grab his grandpa’s fingers not realizing it was an illegal move, but I realized that the framing of the panel makes it clear that the lock was painful, so it had to be Asumi

I think that drawing sumo, which is generally more straightfoward than MMA, might have somewhat limited Kawada’s ability for choreography, so I think drawing MMA will be a good challenge for him to broaden his art, and I’m excited to see how it grows from here

Speaking of Hinomaru Zumou transitioning to MMA, I have to figure that Kawada chose it specifically because he felt like he didn’t get to focus on Kunisaki enough. I’m hoping that we’ll actually get to see him in this series, maybe getting some updates on that lady he hooked up with in America and the baby they had. I love when authors connect their series together, and this one has a perfect opportunity. Maybe Okome will even be a major character in some way? I don’t know what year this is meant to take place relative to Hinomaru, so she could easily be either grown up or Asumi’s age

I’m expecting next week to be another character heavy chapter with the introduction of Kazuro. Admittedly I wasn’t expecting him to show up this quickly, I figured he’d show up in like...twenty to fifty chapters, maybe a few arcs in, not right at the beginning

I will say though that if he’d been introduced later, I probably would have taken it as a red flag since estranged family members are usually a sign of cancellation. Can’t wait to see how this plays out!

I finished watching (meaning I may or may not have skimmed the most enjoyable parts of) a playthrough of Danganronpa V3 (without having seen D2)

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW (there’s no ambiguity here lol also please mute the tags below for this game in the future if you do not want spoilers for it on this blog)

ngl totally because of the Saiouma art I’ve been seeing, and I’m, probably predictably, utterly caught by Kokichi’s character, specifically his end.

But I’m also forming ideas and comparisons to how Venti could act in a genre like that to Kokichi (because of course I am).

It’s an extreme personality compared to Venti, but it’s also an extreme genre, so I like to think that I can take notes on Kokichi to consider Venti in such a situation.

Kokichi’s three extreme traits:

Pathological liar alluded to be out of necessity/because of his background

Selfish (perceived as and literally) as shown by Gonta’s trial, heavily suggested to be “secretly” helpful to classmates

Martyr

Venti’s traits that could be taken to the extreme to reflect Kokichi’s:

Wordsmith (I wouldn’t call him a direct liar but I think he knows how to control a conversation and likely avoids some topics—Celestia—out of necessity)

Perceived as selfish, strongly cares for his citizens (his children) and typically performs in secretive ways to help them

Death fla—Willing to step in as an archon in dire cases

And there’s more, too:

Kokichi, a leader of a small, petty crime organization that he lies is larger than it actually is, is given a motivation video that is about his other nine members that he’s come to love as family. The video also specifies his organization is against killing.

Venti, as the archon of his people that he loves dearly, canonically is a bit of a mischievous god that’s solved issues through his tricks, and he is, at least, suggested to avoid physical fights/violence.

Kokichi masquerades himself by pretending to be scarier than he actually is while Venti is arguably speculated to make himself appear weaker than he actually is.

Kokichi acts childish (could argue it is because he is a teen but everyone comments on it lol), and Venti does, too.

All right, now that my stronger argument is over, let’s just recast the entire cast while I’m at it with much less “evidence.”

Kaede Akamatsu — Lumine. Aside from their similar looks, I think Lumine’s actual actions in game suit Kaede’s in game as well, to having gentle, curious personalities with a headcanoned headstrong personality for Lumine and Kaede’s actual leader-like qualities. Kaede is also one of the most unique main characters because of the actions she takes in game, so Lumine being this traveler from another world with strange abilities adds to their likeness.

Maki Harukawa — Rosaria. Tell me this isn’t too fitting. Maki pretends to be the Ultimate Child Caregiver, something that really doesn’t fit her personality (cough Rosaria pretending to be a nun cough), but she’s actually the Ultimate Assassin. Yeah, that’s Rosaria.

Kaito Momota — Honestly, this one is pretty tough despite the amount of characters in Genshin that fall into the personality of “believing in friends.” I could see Amber as a base personality for him because she both has a boisterous presence and a strong belief in friendships that has changed other characters (Collei, Eula). Itto even has that loud side of him that can quickly get defensive if one of his friends is attacked that’d suit Kaito as well.

The really difficult part to pin down in a Genshin character is who could be pushed into assisted suicide for Kaito’s endgame actions.

I’m gonna be honest… I don’t know.

Ryoma Hoshi — Cyno or Yelan. Cyno has that short stature, and strangely I think Cyno getting disheartened, believing he has no one, after being a source of inspiration to others is fitting to his actual story in Genshin. And his voice absolutely fits, too, in that he’d take people by surprise by how he sounds.

Yelan also fits this imo as she absolutely seems like the type to believe she has no one, and she has a sort of attitude along the lines of “if no one else will, I will” in terms of dying. She definitely gives off the vibe of hanging in the back while picking up on things quickly, a sort of cool attitude, so these two characters are my suggestion for Ryoma.

Himiko Yumeno — This character is hard to place because I almost feel like she has more than one “potential” and it depends if you want to settle this independently by individuality or not. By that, I mean consider Tenko and Angie’s relationship to Himiko, and then Himiko’s individual personality.

So here are my potentials:

Diona. I almost feel like their personalities are super similar where Diona would insist on something to the point of being detrimental to a trial or she would accuse a random character to shift blame off herself. She also has some sort of magician thing going on where she literally can’t make a bad drink, so there’s the small connection to Himiko’s talent.

Qiqi. Low energy. Repetitive arguments where instead of it being “her magic,” it’s that she forgot. Easy to manipulate into Angie’s cult.

Fischl. Fischl has pretty high energy, but she also insists on a fantasy concept similar to Himiko, so I could see that being a strong connection for them.

Tenko Chabashira — Keqing. Keqing has no strong hate for men, but her kind of subtle tsundere personality feels most suiting for Tenko, as well as the gentle moments with Tenko also feel like it fits Keqing and her rarer soft side. Plus, if you made Himiko as Ganyu because of their low energy moments, then it fits even more as a duo because of Keqing’s extreme protectiveness of Ganyu (…not that Ganyu fits Himiko that well on that note).

Gonta Gokuhara — I wanna make this Itto for size and lovable personality alone. But strangely it fits! So he’s the big guy that has a tough time keeping up in trials but you can’t help but love him. Itto’s a little more animated, but he’s still a pretty good fit.

Kiibo (K1-B0) — Gorou. Like, 100%, they have eerily similar personalities and characteristics that would stand out (furry ears and tail vs robot). It’s not robophobic, it’s not furryphobic! LOL. They’re both kind of gullible, but they have strong desires to help others, and I really could see these two switch places. Well, idk how well Keebo would be as a leader, but he would be an impeccable caretaker because he’s very sweet. (You could technically, probably, make Chongyun another fitting role for Keebo with his exorcist abilities being the thing that stands out and then put Xingqiu as some kind of stand-in for Kokichi’s teasing.)

Rantaro Amami — I’m so sorry, but doesn’t he kind of fit Heizou with his suave way of talking, kind of chill personality, and curious nature? Heizou, also, kind of, feels fitting to be the first character to be murdered. I, uh, I can’t explain that one so if you know, you know.

Korekiyo Shinguji — Forgive me, but Kamisato Ayato… really. Really fits.

Yep, everything.

Yes, the sister complex, included. Could—could you imagine… never mind.

Anyway, it’s an extreme game with extreme characters so why not dial up Ayato’s into the twisted anthropologist. The talent might not quite fit him, but his knowledge, desire to observe in order to then react, and his eventual in-game kills being two separate characters with one very detailed set up is just too good for it to suit any normal Genshin character, so try Ayato out with his probable cutthroat techniques, and I see a connection. Not just… not just because he has a sister.

(Suited more for his talent and need for observance, you could also put Albedo here and try really hard to ignore the sister thing, because otherwise it would fit Albedo’s character, disregarding the whole “kehehe” thing. You’re welcome for that image.)

Kirumi Tojo — I know Noelle technically fits the Ultimate Maid talent to the T, but I actually really like Shenhe for this stand-in. Personality-wise, she really fits Kirumi as they’re both rather stoic and analytical, and I could see Shenhe identifying the weakest target to take out if she felt the need to get out.

(Thoma, strangely, might also be a good option to consider as he fits the maid role. He doesn’t have that stoic personality, but I could see his motivation video relating to the Kamisato family as they’re a very important family, and I feel Thoma has a cutthroat side of him that could come into play in extreme circumstances—like a death game.)

Shuichi Saihara — Who else fits main character energy better than main characters? Saihara’s growth from an unconfident mess to someone more assertive, bold, and fluidity in being someone that looks between facts and belief in people is perfect for characters with rather ambiguous energy in their characteristics, aka main characters like Aether. Aether has a headcanoned personality of being a bit shyer than his sister, Lumine, so Lumine fitting Kaede and Aether as Shuichi is a really nice combination.

However, don’t mind me making a bit of a stretch to fit Xiao into this role, too.

A huge thing about Shuichi is his character growth: he starts as someone afraid to accuse others because of his past, but he’s rather intuitive once he gets the confidence to do it.

Look at Xiao’s character growth now: he’s never been a shy, stuttering mess of nerves, but he’s had difficulty expressing his true feelings because of his stance on himself as a person—seeing himself as a weapon. In recent events, we’ve seen a calmer, kinder, more open Xiao as he expresses his feelings better, and he’s really grown from where he started.

His path is similar to Shuichi in that sense, even if their personalities tend to differ. Although, I think you can make an argument that Shuichi’s assertiveness matches Xiao’s in the later game both in Genshin and DV3.

(Also Xiaoven and Saiouma are OTPs of mine, so I just love the potential dynamic.)

Kokichi Oma — I did make an argument above for Venti, which I still would put here, but I just want to point out Kaeya’s potential in mixing truths and lies as well and him already holding a personality that can both get on others’ nerves (Dilucdilucdilucdiluc) and be charming at the same time. Kokichi is less charming in game while Kaeya is said to charm grandmas, but if Kaeya was put into DV3 specifically, I could see his personality switching to fit the role. He’s fascinating like that. (And then making Shuichi as Albedo kind of works then because of Albedo’s natural inclination to look at the facts, first. His growth would likely follow being able to show emotions rather than learning to be assertive, kind of an opposite journey from Shuichi’s.)

Also Hu Tao. Hu Tao could absolutely be Kokichi because she’s a social pariah already in game and she’d be the one to make a comment that catches everyone off guard. It’s kinda base level, but I can still totally see it.

Scaramouche. I don’t think this one needs to be explained much, if at all, because a morally grey villain is a morally grey villain and Scaramouche fits Kokichi’s personality way too well. Like waaaaaay too well. The one point that differs is their motivations imo, as Kokichi acts more as the antihero and Scaramouche was definitely a villain at one point. (Make Nahida Shuichi because Nahida even needed her own confidence boost before she started filling her archon role well, and it makes even more sense to put Scaramouche here.)

Miu Iruma — canNOT tell you the difficulty I had in matching someone to Miu with all her traits in mind. MIU. God, I love her.

So, here’s my thinking:

Mona. She’s got a personality that comes off as confident until she isn’t. She’s super, super useful and knowledgeable about one thing (astrology) that would be very helpful in a game like DV3, like how Miu is very helpful with her talent as Ultimate Inventor.

The only thing… is that mouth of Miu’s is SO hard to see with Mona.

From the very, very little I know about him, perhaps Kaveh would fit this role for the reasons above but also because I could see Miu’s mouth on Kaveh.

(I wanna put Lisa here so bad but their personalities DO NOT fit DESPITE.)

Angie Yonaga — it’d be really, really funny if I put Barbara here just for that religious obsession connection. Can you imagine Barbara as a cult leader?

Anyway.

Here’re some options:

Candace. Really, there’s not a lot here but their voices have that same vibe of being soft and chill, and I see that side to both that just seems like they could be a cult leader because of their ability to pull people in with their mother-like gentleness. Otherwise, they both would want to stop the killing game at any means necessary, even if it means controlling other students’ actions to their (the students’) utter annoyance.

Lisa. This is kind of hard to imagine but Lisa gives off the almost maternal vibe that Angie does, and I do see Lisa as a persuasive figure that could draw in others for her affectionate nature with the end goal of protecting them from the killing game. The religious thing is the hardest trait to connect.

Yae Miko. Again, with a very ‘caring’ personality that has a darker side to it used for manipulation. Instead of Yae actually believing in some higher power, I just see straight manipulation with the goal of protection. She’s also easy to imagine riling up others for her tactics.

Tsumugi Shirogane — Sucrose (Sorry, Sucrose). Bruh, she gives off plain, innocent girl vibes that would totally cosplay but she’s got an evil side to her 100%. What does she DO to the hilichurls.

Okay but weirdly I can also see Yun Jin as her. Theater and cosplay don’t quite go hand in hand but the acting part does, and Yun Jin has a smug emote that I forgot about that looks like Yae Miko’s and Albedo’s and thus. She’s got an evil side to her. She also acts very helpful, she’s not quite as timid as Tsumugi imo but she would be able to put on a performance at the end.

I’m a little unfamiliar with Sumeru personalities because my game hates cutscenes right now, so I’m tentative on putting Sumeru characters in here. That being said, I’ve, like, never played a hangout, so there could be some wild characterizations in here, too. Lemme know what you think!

ARES. armed for battle, wants to raise a dog with their significant other, soft spot for children, gives piggyback rides, scarred body, blood on their hands and face, willing to fight the world for the ones they love, fights against injustice, warm hugs, well-worn combat boots, boxing gloves, bandages wrapped around bruised knuckles, fist raised in protest, ignites revolutions, fear is a prison, more sensitive than what their tough shell would have you think, exhausted, damaged goods, force to be reckoned with, red roses, curses under their breath.

ARTEMIS. keen sense of a hunter, freckles like constellations on their skin, piercing eyes, disheveled braid, moonlight peeking through the shadows, the calm of the forest at night, lying on the grass and staring at the stars, mother doe and her fawn, protecting their kin, the moon shimmering on a still lake, quiver full of arrows resting against the bark of a tree, running with wolves, bonding while circled around a campfire, not being much of a people person, arrow hitting a target, popping egos, patience on 3%, touches heaven and returns howling.

ATHENA. discerning gaze, unreadable face, quiet museums, owl perched on their finger, armor that intimidates, eye for architecture, plays the sims for the sole purpose of building houses, studied the blade while everyone else was busy, big fan of logic, loves brain teasers, ancient buildings, sweaters in neutrals and cool colors, hair done up, can kill you with their brain, heads to the library often to research, sharpened pencils, abs that can cut steel, stoic statues, pottery classes.

DEMETER. soil-covered hands, smile that can bloom flowers, skin loved by the sun, being the mom-friend, can lift you and your friends, flowers kept in the pockets of overalls, takes pride in their beautiful garden, speaks to their plants, leaves rustling in the wind, stalks of wheat, picking fruit, greenhouses, heart as strong as a mountain, values simplicity, daisies dotted across a collarbone, curls crowned with flowers, folded pile of sweaters in warm hues, pulling out fresh-baked bread out of the oven and the smell wafting through the air.

DIONYSUS. drunk shitposter, on their sixth glass of wine before you’ve even finished your second, seductive smirks, untamed curls, rich fabrics on dark skin, sleek-furred panthers, theater masks, stage productions, receiving a standing ovation, rose caught between their teeth, being the baby of the bunch, wild parties that last from sundown to sunup, creeping vines, inspiring loyalty, grand opera houses, masquerade balls, rolls of film, shattered chandeliers with broken glass scattered across the wine-spilled floor, pouring champagne into flutes, lives for the applause.

HEPHAESTUS. the calloused hands of someone who knows labor, sweaty brow, flame burning in their eyes, inventive mind, broad shoulders, steampunk goggles, nuts and bolts stored away in little boxes, ashes, striking a match, blueprints for future projects, fixing up a busted up car and giving it cool upgrades, wrestles with bitterness, work boots have seen better years, wrinkled plaid shirts, iron melted in blazing fire, huge jackets, crafting masterpieces, greased-stained overalls, fascination with robotics, pain is fuel, stack of weaponry, even their muscles have muscles.

HERA. resting bitch face, dressed to the nines, cows grazing on a pasture, cool rain, loving and hating fiercely, hand clutching a string of pearls, large chandelier with glittering crystals, plays the sims for the sole purpose of killing off their sims, romance to realism, pictures of the sky while flying on a plane, downs glasses of wine as they relax with a scented bubble bath and netflix, like their selfie or you’re grounded, knows 57 convenient ways to murder a man, dark eyes that penetrate your soul, marble and gold.

HERMES. devil-may-care smile, always up-to-date on the latest technology, will steal your french fries, does it for the vine, shitposter, puts googly eyes on everything, meme hoarder, long drives on the highway, ma and pop diners, spontaneous road trips, folded maps, fingers dancing across the keyboard of a laptop, shooting hoops on the basketball court, chatting up strangers as you all journey to your own destinations, goes jogging in the morning, mixes redbull with coffee, menace on april fool’s, hoodies and sneakers.

POSEIDON. storm with skin, colorful coral reefs, waves crashing against the shore, stroking the soft fur of a cat, their heart pounding as their horse’s gentle trot speeds into a gallop, tousled locks, clothes smeared with paint, owns several sketchbooks yet always yearns to own more, leather jackets, fondness for diy projects, handwriting that flows across the page, nimble fingers playing the strings of a violin, velvety singing voice that haunts your dreams, mood as ever-changing as the sea, the roar of a motorcycle, compass with a spinning arrow.

Ever since meeting the noble young man who has fought so bravely by Stephen’s side, Clea has been preoccupied. She spends long hours scrying through mirrors, anything with a reflection, all in an attempt to see him. Stephen understands that she’s smitten, has felt it himself. But what she’s asked for...

“We can’t just keep him, Clea,” Stephen tells her.

“Why-ever not? He could use some looking after, the poor thing. He’s alone, Dearest.” Clea makes it sound as if her conclusion is perfectly reasonable. And for the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension and Faltine being that she is, it may very well be.

Truth be told, there is a part of him… a dark, insistent part of him that wants to agree with her and bring Peter Parker into their lives and make sure he can never leave them.

“He isn’t a pet,” Stephen says on a reluctant sigh. “That isn’t how things are done here.”

“Of course, he won’t be a pet,” Clea agrees. “He will be far more cherished than that.” She takes one of his hands and with love in every motion, stokes over his scars with smooth fingertips capable of forming stars and ending galaxies. “I’ve seen the way you look at him, Stephen. At first I was jealous, but after meeting him, seeing him…” Her deep eyes stare into his. “I want him, too.”

It’s everything he shouldn’t do. He would be no better than Kaecilius, Umar, Mephisto, or Wanda Maximoff were he to even consider it.

But unlike the legions he’s fought alongside and the legions he’s fought against, he’s never been afraid to admit to being a hypocrite.

After all, in the grand scheme of the infinite multiverse, who is he to deny the woman he loves - the woman who has seen into his soul with all its trials, agony, and dreams and loves him because of it! - who is he to deny her anything she desires?

Two days, four dozen candles, and eight grimoires later, Peter Parker is naked before them on their bed, arms and legs bound by the Crimson Bands. Clea is murmuring soft, reassuring words to Peter while she coaxes yet another orgasm out of his perfect body. “You’re safe now, Peter,” she tells him. “We’re going to take such wonderful care of you.”

Peter’s eyes, wet with betrayal and tears meet Stephen’s. “Stephen, please! You can’t do this!”

“Come into me, Peter,” she urges, arching her hips beneath him. “All of this we’re doing, is for you.”

“Well,” Stephen corrects, watching intently as Peter sinks inside his lover and is unable to stop the moan of ecstasy. “A great deal of it is for you.” He guides his cock to Peter’s rim, watches in satisfaction as the quickly-healing body fights against his claim for a second or two before he’s driving forward into him, into Clea. “And much of it is for us.”

“You’re ours,” Clea tells Peter with a beautiful smile and eyes rolled back in bliss. “And we will keep you safe and happy.”

Stephen begins to move, ensuring that when he thrusts, so does Peter. “You’ll never want for anything,” he promises. “All you have to do is be ours.”

Stephen is a force of a man atop him, claiming him. There’s no spot inside of him Stephen hasn’t taken for his own, hasn’t filled. The man is so large inside of him he wonders how he’s not split into two, then he orgasms again and decides he doesn’t care.

It doesn’t matter how many times he comes, he stays hard inside of the deity beneath him and desperate for the claim of the Titan inside him. He can have this, he thinks. He can have this.

The multiverse, in all of its infinite iterations, shudders for a fraction of a billionth of a second. It is a small price to pay, the loss of the Spider.

A small price to pay for the protection from the Supreme Sorcerer and the Sorceress Supreme. Ensuring their happiness will ensure the very fabrics of all realties’ survival.

MALLET’S FLAMINGO (Phoenicopterus regina);

Also known, colloquially, as the "Queendom Croquet Flamingo," this is a peculiar type of bird species that has adapted to the rather dour weather and climate of the Queendom of Roses. Specific traits that set them apart are as following: a smaller stature on average (most grown adults do not clear four feet); slightly larger-than-average webbed feet; a distinct set of vocalizations and calls (often compared in literature to the complex vocalizations of dolphins, with a bit less emphasis on a range of sounds palatable to human ears, and more focus given on their distinct body language accompanying the vocalizations); smaller than average flamboyance sizes; a slightly-more balanced stature overall (their legs do not exceed the average length of the rest of their body or neck); a distinct diet more suited to feasting on the flora and fauna of the Queendom and not just shrimp or other miscellaneous seafood; and, most distinctly, the wide array of colors that their feathers take on once reaching maturity. What is known for a fact, however, is that they were a favored curiosity of the Queen of Hearts, who championed their breeding and reportedly let them roam her castle grounds. Due to the low birth rates of the species (only one egg is laid at a time by mothers during hatching season), as well as the significance to the Queen of Hearts, the Mallet's Flamingo is considered a protected species. The poaching and preparing of them is illegal; selling their eggs is a jailable offense. While a handful of them have ended up as minor invasive bird species elsewhere in Twisted Wonderland, they primarily congregate in the Queendom. They are also known to be rather temperamental, and quite intelligent, as a central fixture of older croquet matches and even extending to "classic" croquet. Their loyalty is hard to buy, and when they decide they dislike someone, they will act quite maliciously towards that individual.

I. FUCK THEM BIRDS.

Trey has never quite gotten along with animals well. The Clover household didn’t have room nor time to entertain the idea of a pet growing up, and Trey, already weak in language arts, never took any courses in high school focusing on animal linguistics. While there were practical reasons to be curious (croquet flamingos are quite common in the central Queendom area he lives in, with temperaments similar to common gulls to boot; Chenya plays a mean game of croquet) he never really had a drive to learn.

Perhaps because of Trey’s own inexperience with animals or just an unfortunate case of “bad vibes,” they’ve never seemed to quite take to Trey. His inability to communicate with them has only compounded on this funny feeling. It’s not that animals are outright aggressive. At best, they’re indifferent, merely ignoring him in favor of seeking attention or food elsewhere. At worse, they’ve picked him out as an easy target to harass, by play-fighting, divebombing, biting or pouncing, growling, barking...

None more so than those croquet flamingos.

They’re mischievous creatures by nature, of course, and when a person makes themselves an easy target, or gives off a certain air...

Needless to say. Trey’s enthusiasm for croquet was at an all-time low before enrolling in NRU.

II. FUCK THEM BIRDS.

He did try, though. Croquet is baked into the culture of Heartslabyul. Their responsibilities include caring for a particularly haughty flamboyance, and Trey’s first year marked his first attempt at finally bridging the gap between man and bird. His grades were on the shakier side of Cs in Animal Linguistics 101, though, and Trey’s only retained enough to know when they’re mocking him. Or cursing him out. Or plotting to make a fool of him in the middle of matches.

Needless to say, the resentment has only grown over the years.

Trey will do anything in his power to avoid doing anything with Heartslabyul’s flamingos. This rarely works out, as while it is typically relegated to freshmen duties, most freshmen have not had to deal with them in any close and frequent capacity before. (And, you see, Trey’s got glasses, so his eyes aren’t as easy targets.)

The flamingos feel the resentment, too. It is a two-way street. If in a mood, they’ll chase him, flash their wingspan and surround him. When acting as mallets, they will often refuse to stay still, fly away, or otherwise sabotage his turns. It’s quite a sight, honestly, to see a Vice Housewarden taken down so easily by a bird a foot or two smaller.

(For what it’s worth: the hedgehogs are mostly indifferent. Tradition dictates they are often just as spoiled, if not more so, and Trey usually has an abundance of fruit to spare for their dinners.)

Hot-Headed Dragon Kid, Young Adult - CR13 Dragon

This is the anime kind of dragon, where it’s just a teenager with dragon powers.

Artwork by Rod4817 on... well, he’s deleted all of his accounts on sites where he posted his artwork. But this was originally posted on Pixiv and Twitter. I’m reusing the same art as I used in the previous post because there are more dragon age categories than there are usable images of this character.

Many dragons have the ability to shapeshift into a humanoid form. A few vastly prefer this form, spending almost all of their time in it from a very young age, and have learned how to channel their draconic powers through it.

Although in standard D&D and Pathfinder lore, only metallic dragons have the ability to take a humanoid form, it’s common in other media for this ability to extend to all dragons. And frankly, chromatic dragons are way more likely to fight the PCs than metallic dragons, not only because of their personality but also because they’re more iconic, especially in that other media. A lot of people’s games are set in worlds of their own design or generic fantasy lands, rather than using the full lore of Golarion, so I decided that making a series of red dragons in this style would be useful.

I only used the young adult version of this dragon in my magical girl games, but for this blog I’ll be creating and posting one for every age category.

This creature functions pretty much like a normal red dragon in combat, aside from running fast instead of flying, and using Dex instead of Str for its attacks. It does gain Fire Trail as a new ability, which makes use of its high speed. If the PCs are heavily resistant to fire or can all fly, it’ll transform into its proper dragon form.

Dragon Shapeshifting (Su) As a standard action, a young adult hot-headed dragon kid can transform into a young adult red dragon. It retains its current hit points, spells per day, and conditions, but otherwise its entire stat block is replaced by that of the young adult red dragon when it does so. The effects of its constant spell-like abilities are suppressed while it is in its young adult red dragon form. It can dismiss this transformation as a standard action.

Short-Range Flame Blasts (Ex) A young adult hot-headed dragon kid has 4 short-range flame blasts that act as primary natural weapons, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage. These attacks have a natural reach of 10 feet.

Draconic Grace (Ex) A hot-headed dragon kid can add its Dexterity bonus instead of its Strength bonus to the damage of its short-range flame blast attacks.

Triple Breath (Su) Once every 1d4 rounds, as a standard action, a young adult hot-headed dragon kid can launch three 50-foot lines of fire that function as breath weapons in three different directions at once (one from each hand, and one from its mouth). These lines cannot overlap and must be aimed at least 45 degrees apart from each other. A creature caught in any of the three lines takes 10d10 points of fire damage, Reflex DC 22 halves. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Fire Trail (Sp) A young adult hot-headed dragon kid can cast Fire Trail at will as a spell-like ability, except that the maximum length of the trail is increased to twice its move speed (typically 200 feet).

This is definitely Harry’s domain.

Y/N hugs her shoulders as she stands in her bedroom-turned-dressing-room, staring at the rack of expensive clothes that have been left for her. Through the door, she can hear the noise of the crew bustling around her living room. This house has, of course, been the site of many Harry-hosted parties that had packed in a lot more people than there are present here today — despite that, this smaller group is threatening to become overwhelming for her.

She’s doing this for Harry. A couple of months ago, he was approached by AnOther Magazine to do a big feature with them — a kind of sequel to the one that he did when they were still called Another Man — and he’s been pouring his heart and soul into it since then. It feels like every single day, he’s been off chatting with a writer or meeting with the creative director. He dragged boxes out of storage to rifle through for mementos of his life as a solo artist last week. Y/N knows that some of their friends have been interviewed to talk about Harry. She’s pretty sure Stevie Nicks is one of them.

The centrepiece, though, is a photoshoot more intimate than he’s ever shared before. In the same way that the shoot set in his hometown years ago illustrated where he came from before he rocketed to stardom, this one will reveal who he is underneath all the make-up and glamour of fame.

Harry as he exists in private: in his home, with his girl, sharing this image of himself for the very first time.

Y/N was apprehensive at first — hell, Harry was too — but they’ve discussed it at length. He’s always been a private man, but his ethos is that honesty is integral to his art. He sings in detail about her in his music and puts that into the world with minimal censoring. This magazine feature, at its core, is just another artistic venture. He doesn’t want to hold back. When she understood it like that, it was easy for her to agree.

Her conviction that this is an important thing to do for Harry doesn’t stop the nerves, though. She’s never been a model, or even remotely a figure of interest beyond her connection to Harry. It’s his limelight that she’s stepping into. She can’t help but feel nervous about it.

The first outfit she’s wearing is a boldly patterned dress, custom-made by Gucci at Harry’s request. This isn’t the first time she’s wearing something this expensive (there are no compromises on fashion when you’re with Harry) but it still makes her feel like a fish out of water. She holds the hanger at arms-length for a moment, vaguely anxious that she might have put on weight since the fitting and it won’t fit her anymore, then carefully slips it off. She steps into it gingerly and shrugs it over her shoulders, then reaches behind her to pull the zip up as far as she can reach. She stands in front of the mirror and looks at her reflection, frowning.

Her make-up, which was done earlier, is colourful and dramatic. The point of this home shoot is to show the dichotomy between Harry’s celebrity persona and his private life, illustrated through the elaborate costuming inside their relatively normal home. She doesn’t recognise herself in it.

There’s a knock at the door, startling her out of her thoughts. She whips around, back straightening. “What is it?”

“Can I come in?” It’s Harry’s voice, and just those four short words in his gentle tone are enough to dissolve some of her anxiety.

She takes a deep breath, steadying herself into a calmer headspace. “Yeah,” she answers.

He opens the door discreetly and slips inside, careful not to reveal her to the people in the living room while she’s not properly dressed. She appreciates his caution. Although he’s apparently comfortable enough to walk around near-strangers half-naked—he’s only wearing his boxers right now—she definitely isn’t.

“Everything alright, darling?” he asks. Every step that brings him closer puts her more at ease. She’s always been an anxious person, but he’s like a drug to her. From the very first time they met, he’s been the person she feels most natural with. They just work. Things feel right with him.

She smiles at him. It’s a weak stretch of her lips, but a smile nonetheless. “Yeah. Can you zip me up, please?”

“Of course.”

She turns back around to face the mirror and reaches behind her head to pull her hair out of his way. His fingers are warm against bare skin of her back, finding the zipper and dragging it up, his knuckles brushing against her skin more than is probably necessary. He fixes the way the straps sit over her shoulders with the same attention to detail that she’s seen his stylists give for him a hundred times before. His lip is tucked between his teeth as he does so, glancing from the mirror back to her, his face the image of concentration.

Finally satisfied, he takes a step back and rakes his gaze up and down her figure. “Y’look gorgeous.”

She shrugs, staring at herself. “Thanks, H.”

“I mean it.” He plants a kiss on her cheek, holding her by the waist as they look at each other through their reflections. “Pretty dress for a pretty girl.”

Heat rises in her face and she drops her gaze to the floor. “Now you’re doing too much.”

He shakes his head. “‘M not. Promise I’m not.”

She hums, appraising their reflection with a frown. Even in his underwear, Harry is Harry, and she… She feels like she’s playing dress up in someone else’s wardrobe, dipping her toes into someone else’s life. Harry is at ease in a place like this but she certainly isn’t.

Harry seems to sense this. “Something the matter?” he asks her gently.

“No, just —“ she wrings her hands in front of her, searching for the words. “I don’t feel like me.”

He furrows his brow. “I know what you mean. ’S weird when you do all this—” he flutters his hand around the room, at the rack of clothes and towards the door where they can hear someone giving directions to shift the couch slightly to the left “—just to get a photo done. And I know you’re not used to it.” He squeezes her waist gently. “But you look beautiful. Just like you always do.”

She can’t suppress a small smile at that, bumping her head against Harry’s shoulder with a quietly mouthed, “Thank you.”

He turns his head to kiss her hair, then releases his grip on her waist and moves over to the rack of clothes. “But did y’see…” He bends down to pick up a plastic container marked Look 1 from the shelf at the bottom. He opens it up to reveal various pieces of jewellery inside, and delicately picks out a couple pieces with nimble fingers. “I picked these for you.”

They’re her earrings. More specifically, they’re the earrings that he gave her for their first anniversary. A couple of dangling pearls—he’d bought them during his obsession with the gems. They’re a sweet memento of that time of their lives, of the honeymoon phase that felt like it lasted forever, that never really fizzled out even to this day. They’re her favourites.

She realises her mouth has dropped open. “When did you sneak those in?” she asks.

He shrugs, smirking. “I have my ways. I’m sneaky.” He returns to his previous position standing behind her, nudging her hair behind her ear with his knuckles. “May I?”

She nods, trying not to shiver as his fingers brush against her ears.

“There we go,” he says, stepping back. “Is that a bit better?”

The girl in the mirror looks familiar now. Despite the make-up and the dress, she can see herself. The same face, framed by the same earrings, that has accompanied Harry through all sorts of days and nights. Today is just another one of those things. Something they’re doing, together, and isn’t that all she wants, for them to do everything together?

Being with Harry is a dream she never wants to wake up from. They’ve built a paradise together and now they get to share a tiny part of it with the world—not for the world to share in it, but to see just how beautiful it is.

There’s a little part of Y/N that hopes it makes the rest of the world jealous. They should be, she thinks.

“It’s perfect, H,” she tells him, glancing over her shoulder so she looks at his real face, not just his reflection. “Honestly. Thank you.”

“No need to thank me.” He looks proud of himself—his eyes are shining and his dimples are on display as he looks her up and down once more. “It’s all you.”

Y/N mirrors him, her gaze travelling down his body. She bites her lip.

Harry seems to remember suddenly that he’s only in his underwear—his hands fly to cover his thinly-clothed privates and he looks at her, his mouth open in a sly grin. “This is not the time,” he scolds, his shoulders shaking as he suppresses laughter.

Y/N rolls her eyes, grabbing him by the shoulder and pushing him to turn around. “Go get dressed, you dork.”

The suit that Harry wears is made out of the same material as Y/N’s dress, bright and bold colours. The photographer is accomodating of her nerves as he has them sit on the couch. The window is wide open to allow the natural light to illuminate their faces, and the Y/N can feel the warmth of the sun on her face. The sky is a brilliant blue. It’s a perfect day.

“Okay, look this way,” the photographer tells her, drawing her attention from the window to the camera. “A little closer, Harry.”

Harry shifts over, his thigh pressing against hers. His hand comes to rest on her knee, then lifts suddenly as if he’s remembered something. “Hang on a minute,” he says to the photographer, holding up a finger.

He twists around to face Y/N and carefully sweeps her hair back over her shoulder, tucking it behind her ear to ensure the pearl earring is on clear display. She smiles at him, which he returns in a quick unspoken exchange of gratitude and care.

“Alright,” Harry says, settling back to face the photographer. His hand finds Y/N’s and he squeezes it. “We’re good.”

The camera clicks and the flash goes off. Their hands remain joined on Harry’s lap.

[In the meeting hall of the Castle of the Three Great Angels, the digimon affected by the Demon Lord attack stand quietly to hear what the angels have to say. Strabimon and Reflectmon, who tend to take on much of the brunt of leadership in the group, stand in the front. Strabimon looking upward towards these strange powerful digimon with cautious curiosity, while Reflectmon looks down at the floor, avoiding any eye contact with any digimon in the room.

To the right of them stands the newcomer, Tromon, who is with the stern looking rabbit guard, Lekismon, as well as the now very anxious friends of Sprocket City, Koraimon and Talpidmon. Both of whom seem to be conflicted in why they are here, uncomfortably shuffling and making an effort to not look at one another.

To the left and just out of eyeshot of the de facto leaders are Lamnimon and Flitmon, the later worriedly looking from face to face, trying to glean what condition all of their friends are is, while the former seems stuck in their own level of discomfort and puzzlement over what just happened to them. What were those strange visions? Those nightmarish memories?

Behind them, toward the back, is the group from Fortune town. Bastemon and MailPidgemon stand at the forefront of the group, while Flamedramon holds onto and tends to the Kudamon siblings. MailPidgemon looks especially stern about the information they are about to receive, while Bastemon simply appears to be here searching for answers as well as to why their friend Aegiomon was killed.

Sirenmon and Gullymon are not present.

Nachtmon also does not appear to be present.

Who is present, however, is Pengimon, who is waiting by the entrance patiently for their friend Flamon to retrieve their cat friend from the resting area.]

Fla: [Rushes in with Geopardmon in hand, talking in a hushed tone.] Pengimon! Hey.

Pengi: Ah! There you two are. [Hops up onto Flamon’s shoulder.]

Fla: What did we miss?

Pengi: Not much. I think we’re just starting...

Ophani: -I know you all probably have a lot of questions. And we will do what we can to answer them.

But for now we humbly ask you to be patient with us. As there is much to explain.

Reflect:

Oh you best believe there is much to explain…! I can’t believe thou art asking me to be patient right now.

One of my best friends is DEAD. And I have no idea WHY! So forgive me if I’m a little IMPATIENT…!

[The three angles are at first shocked at the outburst, but then look away sadly. Those of the Fortune Town crew also look away in pain, hurt from the loss of their friend, and the suffering of their leader.]

Flit: … F...Flecky…

Lamni: ...

Strabi: [Gently touches Reflectmon’s arm]

Reflectmon…

Reflect: … [Looks away from them.]

Cherubi: We understand that you are hurting right now… And I wish we could give you the solace you deserve… But... We can’t...

Seraphi: However, we can give you answers…

The ones who attacked you back in the forest belong to a group known as the demon lords. We’ve been in a quiet war with them for several years now. Trying to hold them back without causing panic across the digital world while they attempt to infect this world’s data with a terrible illness that causes Digimon to give in to their most damaging and hurtful desires.

Fla: … Infect the world’s data… You don’t think… That weird circle back in Breezy Village…

Geopard: …?

Fla: Right. I guess you were uh… Unconscious for that part…

Ophani: When the Demon Lords began using their powers to cause this influence amongst digimon, we decided to call upon the Ten Legendary Warrior Spirits to help us nip the issue in the bud before things got out of hand…

However, something unexpected happened. Because of the strain the spirits had faced in the past, the Spirit of Darkness split in two, and the Ten Legendary Warrior Spirits were shot across the Digital World. Furthermore, once we were able to find one of them, the Spirit of Wood, we found out that the spirits, in their turbulent return… Changed form…

Cherubi: … It came as a shock to us. And it will likely be a shock to you, but…

A Martial Arts Star Is Criticized for His Handling of Sexual Abuse Cases

Roberto Abreu, known as Cyborg, has acknowledged missteps in the way he responded to sexual abuse allegations in his Brazilian jiu-jitsu organization.

In March 2018, a 31-year-old instructor in the martial art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu was arrested at a gym in Naples, Fla. He was charged with three counts of sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl who was one of his students and a close family friend.

Today, the unresolved case and other allegations of sexual misconduct are rocking the sport and dogging one of its most powerful figures, Roberto Abreu. He was the longtime teacher and a close friend of the man who was accused of assaulting the 16-year-old. Many in the jiu-jitsu community assert that Abreu could have used his influence to expose and forcefully denounce sexual misconduct in the sport, but instead minimized it and did not offer adequate support to the accusers.

In the Naples case, Abreu, 40, a highly regarded fighter known as Cyborg and the owner of an organization called Fight Sports, has come under fierce criticism that he ignored the accuser and lent support to the man who was arrested, Marcel Gonçalves, even welcoming him at a Fight Sports gym after he was detained.

Gonçalves and Abreu are from the same region of Brazil, and Abreu is the godfather of Gonçalves’s young son.

And in August, a prominent promoter of jiu-jitsu published allegations of sexual misconduct involving a half-dozen coaches and competitors linked to Fight Sports. In interviews with The New York Times, some accusers and witnesses described instances in which, they said, Abreu discounted an attempted sexual assault and ignored or tried to pressure accusers or those who expressed concerns.

Abreu does not face any accusations of sexual misconduct, and he told The Times that he never dismissed the accusers’ concerns or tried to intimidate anyone.

But in a statement on Instagram on Aug. 13, Abreu acknowledged some missteps. He wrote, “To the victims and their families, I am sorry for my poor handling, ill-preparedness and lack of proper leadership to address the horrible experience they had to go through.”

Abreu wrote that in trying to protect his godson, he had “drastically failed” to address Gonçalves’s teenage accuser “adequately, publicly and swiftly.”

Answering written questions from The Times, Abreu said his organization was instituting policies to prevent inappropriate sexual behavior in the future, including sexual harassment training for all coaches and staff.

Allegations of sexual assault by fighters and instructors affiliated with Fight Sports underscore the failure of many global organizations to protect young women who participate in sports. This year alone, scandals involving sexual or psychological abuse have emerged in basketball, water polo, synchronized swimming, fencing, soccer and even dragon boat racing. The jiu-jitsu allegations follow a pattern in which top officials and coaches, operating with little oversight, are accused of seeking to protect the interests of the sport instead of victims.
